Acts 9

And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man.

And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

10 And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord.

11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

12 And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight.

13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.

18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.

19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.

20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

23 And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:

24 But their laying await was known of Saul. And they watched the gates day and night to kill him.

25 Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.

26 And when Saul was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: but they were all afraid of him, and believed not that he was a disciple.

27 But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how he had preached boldly at Damascus in the name of Jesus.

28 And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem.

29 And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.

30 Which when the brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.

31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

32 And it came to pass, as Peter passed throughout all quarters, he came down also to the saints which dwelt at Lydda.

33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

38 And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

39 Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

43 And it came to pass, that he tarried many days in Joppa with one Simon a tanner.

  1. Acts 9
31 Then the church throughout Judea, Galilee and Samaria enjoyed a time of peace and was strengthened. Living in the fear of the Lord and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it increased in numbers.

The church had just been through a time of trials. They had heard of Saul who was persecuting Christians. They had fear. Yet they now are seeing what only God can do . We must continue in our walk with God daily knowing that we are strengthened by the Holy Ghost . Notice the church grew. They had peace and they began to see the miraculous unfold. Look what God is doing where some have left the church because of a pandemic yet God is bringing ion people . The church is being strengthened and there is peace even in the midst of adversity.

Isaiah 41:10 Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

  2. 18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
Part and parcel of repentance and accepting Jesus as our Lord and Savior is the ordinance of baptism.

  3. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

We as humans being are quick to judge. The first thing out of Ananias mouth is all that Saul of Tarsus have done to the Christians. What Ananias has seen to forgot is that God changes lives. He took a simple fisherman and turn him into Peter the one that hold the keys to Heaven. The Rock that Jesus build his church on. Saul of Tarsus will become Paul the vessel JESUS uses to reach to us the gentiles. The ones that had no rights but Jesus expands His Grace to cover us. He uses Saul of Tarsus, the worst of the worst, to show people that He can change lives and destiny. From the persecutor to the persecuted. Saul is what we call a complete 180 instantly and he becomes Paul. Thank you Jesus for choosing Saul of Tarsus, thank you Jesus for your wonderful Mercy and Grace. Thank you Jesus for in the same way you took one lonely, crazy, drunk soldier and turned me into Your servant forever. You took all the garbage that I carried and turned it into ashes that the wind just took and disappeared and you gave me a new life, full of obstacles yes, but full of Your Joy and Peace. A Peace that I have never experienced before. Thank you Jesus for giving me a sound mind, a new heart, and a new destiny!!! 180 for Jesus!!! NEVER EVER GOING BACK!!!!

  4. Thank you Jesus Christ for today , our father which art in heaven, thy kingdom thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors and lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for thine is the kingdom , and the power, and the Glory for ever AMEN

So he shepherded them according to the integrity of his heart, And guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.
    Psalms 78:72

  5. 8 And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus.

9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

  6. In this chapter we see how many, even the disciples, questioned Saul’s integrity. They could not get over what they had heard about him, seen him do and what he stood for. But all it took was one who took him under his wing and trusted in what only the Lord could have done. Barnabas saw what I believe was through the eyes of God. He saw the change that could only come about through the loving mercy and grace of God. How many are out there that are just waiting for that one to see the potential that God sees? Lord help us as we reach for this region to find all the ones that you are bringing into your light as you did Saul. Also, do not grow weary and let anything stop you as Saul kept pushing, even through their unbelief.

1 Peter 3:13-18 MSG “If with heart and soul you’re doing good, do you think you can be stopped? Even if you suffer for it, you’re still better off. Don’t give the opposition a second thought. Through thick and thin, keep your hearts at attention, in adoration before Christ, your Master. Be ready to speak up and tell anyone who asks why you’re living the way you are, and always with the utmost courtesy. Keep a clear conscience before God so that when people throw mud at you, none of it will stick. They’ll end up realizing that they’re the ones who need a bath. It’s better to suffer for doing good, if that’s what God wants, than to be punished for doing bad. That’s what Christ did definitively: suffered because of others’ sins, the Righteous One for the unrighteous ones. He went through it all—was put to death and then made alive—to bring us to God.” So let us LIVE-GIVE JESUS with our utmost integrity!

  7. Acts 9

1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

2 And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem.

3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.

  8. It is amazing what God can do , he turned a unbeliever into one of the greatest men in the bible . When God gets ahold to you you will change you won’t be blind anymore you will see the world they way God sees it. Let God take control of your life .

  9. “And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God. But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests? But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:20-22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The same power that changed Saul, is the same power that changed me. Not many will believe. Not many will follow. But preach the KINGDOM of GOD anyway. His love and mercy is what drew us all at His feet. Jesus is still doing a great and mighty work in our city as we seen last night.

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
    ‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  10. Acts 9:17-18
    17) And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even JESUS, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightiest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
    18) And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
JESUS today YOU will SAVE me.
Do you need Salvation today? All you have to do is call upon the name of the Lord, and you shall be saved. (Rom. 10:13) (Repent, be Baptized in the name of Jesus, and be filled with the Holy Ghost).

    Acts 9:23&25 & 29-30
    23) And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him.
    25) Then the disciples took him by night, and let him down by the wall in a basket.
    29) And he spake boldly in the name of the Lord JESUS, and disputed against the Grecians: but they went about to slay him.
    30) Which when they brethren knew, they brought him down to Caesarea, and sent him forth to Tarsus.
JESUS today YOU will DELIVER me.
Do you need deliverance today from the hand of your enemies? All you have to do is fear the Lord, and He will deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies. (2 Kings 17:39)

    Acts 9:33-34
    33) And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.
    34) And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, JESUS Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.
JESUS today YOU will HEAL me.
Do you need healing in your body today? Remember: He healeth all our diseases. (PS. 103:3), and with His stripes we are healed. (Is. 53:5)

    Acts 9:37 & 40-41
    37) And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
    40) But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
    41) And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
JESUS today YOU will RAISE me UP.
Do you need to be raised up today from a situation that seems dead to you? Then walk in His spirit. Put His spirit within you, and ye shall live…(Ez. 37:14)

  11. Acts 9:15,16 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel : For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name sake.

Romans 1:1 Paul a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God,

Gal 6:17 From henceforth let no man trouble me: for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.

We are servants of Jesus Christ

  12. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

To be the chosen vessels that God has called us to be, we must be willing to have our schedules interrupted and are comfortability shaken. Both Saul and ananias had their daily agendas messed with. So is on his way to Damascus to deliver something and his life got completely changed around while ananias probably had other things going on and was not planning on prophesying and speaking over Saul allowed God to interrupt what he wanted to do so God could do what was more important. Each day we normally set out to accomplish certain things , which are fine, but we must remain open at any time for God to intervene and use us how he chooses

  13. Deliverance, signs and miracles were going on in this time. Souls were being saved and the Holy Ghost was in action. Kinda like last night, people were praying thru and turning to God. I love my church!

  14. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

The kneeling became the representation of a lowly servant, even though we don’t see the Lord Himself kneeling as He performed miracles.

The kneeling was a form of humbleness before the Lord. Meaning that Peter was a lowly servant of the Lord.

When we Peter Kneeled down; it is mentioned to recommend reverence in our praying unto God.

And as we see him kneeling down, then he Peter by his betaking himself unto prayer, would show, that he could do nothing by his own power, but it must come from above; and he had every mercy as much precariously, and by prayer, as any others.
This is what we all need to see, that it is by the power in Jesus Name. That miracles happen. Love the Lord with all your heart.

  15. And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately. And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.
    Acts 9:34‭-‬35 KJV

The Gospel! Miracles signs and wonders to bring belief of the supernatural abilities and saving power of Jesus Christ to the masses.
Miracles are not poured out to entertain us. They are to heal and build belief! I believe that God will continue to use this to draw people to Him for the streets of our city in these last days. Just as He always has. In Jesus Name!

  16. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:

14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.

15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

For the power of God is so great that it can change even the hardest of hearts. Here Saul was a great name associated with pain and strife against the name of God. But in a moment of time on the road to Damascus, God changed the hard heart of a tyrant to a teacher and preacher of the gospel. The period of time that it took Saul to be brought to Ananias, was a sign of God’s plan to remove all the strife and torment that was on Saul and when Ananias was told that he was coming to his house, there was fear of bondage, but God set the record right for Ananias. He told him that Saul was a chosen vessel for the kingdom of God. God let Ananias know that even the hard of hearts can be changed and used for the furtherance of the kingdom of God.

Our only responsibility in this hour we are living in is to be submissive to the will of God and the man of God. We are to go where God sends us and do what he has asked us to do. We are not to judge them that God has called out of darkness into his marvelous light. We have to be available. If we are willing we can make a great impact for the kingdom and reap a great harvest. Get ready for the calling to battle for the great outpouring of the spirit of God. Remember it’s all about Jesus and Jesus is about people and so therefore we have to be about souls.

  17. 21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?
22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

Sual went around proving Jesus is Christ and the Jews turned a blind eye! He knew the scriptures and was strong in the Holy Ghost and it all began with an open heart when God blinded him. When we come to church to hear the word, we must open our hearts and spirit and receive what the Lord has for us each service.

  18. Acts 9:4-9
“And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks. And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do. And the men which journeyed with him stood speechless, hearing a voice, but seeing no man. And Saul arose from the earth; and when his eyes were opened, he saw no man: but they led him by the hand, and brought him into Damascus. And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.“

God has to put us in a situation so that we can only trust and depend on Him. I’m sure those guys that were with Saul , when he was talking to the Lord, thought Saul had lost his mind! God desires our obedience, when He asks us to do one thing and we don’t want to comply.

    “Lord, I’m available to You
My will I give to You
    I’ll do what You say
    Just use me, Lord
    To show someone the way
    And enable me to say
    My vessel is empty
And I am available to You”

  19. Acts 15-16 [ amp] But the Lord said to him, Go, for this man is a chosen instrument of Mine to bear My name before the Gentiles and kings and the descendants of Israel.
[16] For I make clear to him how much he will be afflicted and must endure and suffer for My name’s sake.
1 Tim.1:15 [ amp] The saying sure and true and worthy of full and universal acceptance, that Christ Jesus( the Messiah) came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.
Long suffering and patience for a example to be encouraging my his word. Hold on to faith and confidence . This is for everyone!

  20. “Saul got up from the ground, but when he opened his eyes he could see nothing. So they led him by the hand into Damascus.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:8‬ ‭NIV

Sometimes we need a little help from other to get us where we need to be. Like Saul, we may seem helpless, grow a little tired of not being able to do things on our own, and can’t see any indication of where we’re going. But if we have the right help in our lives, like strong godly friends and a Pastor, we know we can take them by the hand and they will lead us to wherever it is we’re going until we receive our sight back.

  21. 9:6 and he trembling and astonished said: Lord what wilt thou have me do?
And the Lord said unto him, Arise and go into the city
And it shall be told thee what to do.

THAT IS IT, YOUR WILL Has an end RIGHT NOW!
No more big Saul, no more taking care of your agenda
( your plans, your ideas, your “ believes” your mind set…)

    Paul( small, little)
Now Jesus was going to be the Master of his life.
From being a persecutor to a servant of the Lord.
What will thou have me do?
    👉 John 3:30
    HE MUST INCREASE
    BUT I MUST DECREASE.

  22. Knowing the voice of God is to walk the heart beat of Jesus.

Acts 9:6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Acts 9:31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

Acts 4:13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.

    • God will give you grace to endure the problem/circumstance. The Bible says

      James 1:12 KJV
[12] Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
So then tell God, Lord you see this issue and it’s still happening.
You’re word says John 15:7 KJV
[7] If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Sometimes you’re issue may not even be about you, but God is using you because he knows what you are capable of, it’s a part of HIS plan that you may have to go through a few things that are not you’re battle, that battle maybe for God to save and teach a multitude of people.
Some people may even think you’re ignorant or or and learn that’s OK.

      Romans 5:2-5 KJV
[2] By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. [3] And not only so , but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; [4] And patience, experience; and experience, hope: [5] And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Don’t allow fear to take over or my emotions because that’s a train wreck.

  23. “And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We may be confused and not understand why God is leading us in the way he is leading us but we have to put our trust in him because he knows all. It may not feel right or seem right but we should listen to the voice of god. God will never fail us.

“Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  24. 16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

It was never promised to have an easy walk, but if we walk in the fear of the Lord, He will surely guide us. His Spirit within us will always comfort us. So don’t fret when trouble comes, trust the Lord to guide you and be your rest.

  25. We don’t know how long lapses between the beginning of this chapter and the end of this chapter but we find complete transformation from beginning to end.

    – Saul requesting a letter to deliver to Damascus giving him permission to destroy christians.
-Saul struck down by a revelatory light that speaks to him with direction.
-Saul blinded and being led to Damascus
-Saul introduced to Ananias, baptized and converted.
    -Preaches Christ boldly.
-Sought by Jews and Grecians but escapes both.
-Continues on his journey proclaiming his new found way of life.

The time to begin sharing what Jesus has done in our lives is immediate. We don’t have to wait to share with other what He can do for them. If we tell of His goodness when it happens, people will be able to watch the transformation take place in our life as it happens and see that we are all a work in progress.

Sometimes I feel people wait for the finished product, but we are all ever growing, coming to greater knowledge of Jesus Christ and His ways. We are being transformed by His Word everyday as it works in our lives giving us wisdom and the knowledge to apply it. So we must not wait, we will be missing out on the opportunity to show people a daily transformation by the hand of the Master.

The children’s chorus came to my mind –

    He’s still working on me
To make me what I need to be
It took him just a week to make the moon and stars
The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars
How loving and patient He must be
‘Cause He’s still workin’ on me

There really ought to be a sign upon my heart
Don’t judge him yet, there’s an unfinished part
But I’ll be better just according to His plan
Fashioned by the Master’s loving hands

    He’s still working on me
To make me what I need to be
It took him just a week to make the moon and stars
The sun and the earth and Jupiter and Mars
How loving and patient He must be
‘Cause He’s still workin’ on me

In the mirror of His word
    Reflections that I see
Makes me wonder why He never gave up on me
But He loves me as I am and helps me when I pray
Remember He’s the potter, I’m the clay

  26. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    THE HOPE OF SALVATION

20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.
21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

Here we witness one of the greatest demonstrations of the Love of GOD in the Bible. Saul he was known as, was a terror, cruel, persecutor. BUT. JESUS chose Saul as a servant and messenger.

This JESUS selection gives THE HOPE OF SALVATION to all generations, to all those that fear eternal judgement for loved ones that are opposing GOD and HIS will.

Yea I say: GOD will DO astonishing works of transformation in our midst in the coming days at The POFW. Sons and daughters, moms and dads, aunts and uncles, cousins and friends, neighbors and coworkers will be led to THE HOPE OF SALVATION and converted by the mighty hand of GOD.

  27. “Now there was a believer in Damascus named Ananias. The Lord spoke to him in a vision, calling, “Ananias!” “Yes, Lord!” he replied. The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There are some that feel that they must have certain qualifications, a certain number of years experience or just a preacher or minister to be used of God. That thought is simply not true. The scripture said it was a believer or a disciple that was sent to Saul. A believer is one who is following, believing and a learner in Christ. Ananias was a believer who was willing to be used of God. God can use any disciple are you willing?

  28. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:
16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.
17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.
18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.
19 And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus

God can use anyone or anything to become a witness for his kingdom. He used a murder of Christians to become a powerful witness of Jesus Christ.

  29. 20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

This passage says that he preached Christ, we should always have the desire to preach the truth to the lost and dying in this city and to this lost and dying world because if they don’t hear the truth then they’ll spend eternity in hell and that thought alone should always bother us: Each and every day we should always pray that god would open a door for us to reach out to someone and bring them the life changing truth because as Christians that’s what we are called to do.

  30. 33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

Are you ready for a miracle, i love seeing someone receive their miracle. When you see it in someones eyes it boost your faith as well. i was having sharp pain in my back last night when altar call came a young boy came to pray with me and he said he was wheezing from his asthma. i began to share testimony with the young boy and i felt faith rising as i shared several miracles I’ve heard and see first hand. We started praying and tears of joy started bursting in his eyes and he takes a deep breath and shares with me that he felt a warm feeling in his chest. God took this asthma away from him and he was breathing normal! how bout that for some monday morning news.

  31. 26 When Saul arrived in Jerusalem, he tried to meet with the believers, but they were all afraid of him. They did not believe he had truly become a believer!

At times it is hard to believe that someone you know has accepted Jesus as savior. We all have seen individuals come to church looking of the world. With time, he/she is converted to live a righteous life. We know that God can change anyone and use anyone for his Kingdom.

  32. Acts 9
Saul who persecuted many was used by God to turn around his life and work for the Lord. This is so amazing. Many who knew him before he was a man of God had a hard time at first believing him. With God all things are possible. I love how God shows us even the worst people can be changed for Jesus Christ to do His will.

  33. iLove the Kingdom ofJesus
Act 9:40  But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
Act 9:41  And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

Wow, this lady was gone. Her body had been washed for burial and her spirit was already departed her. There was no misunderstanding the fact that she was dead. But Peter saw more than death, Peter saw the opportunity to bring Jesus some glory. Peter had looked at a dead man walking before and this situation did not intimidate him one bit.

  34. 40 But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

41 And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

42 And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.

When they saw she got brought to life then they believed

  35. “Instantly something like scales fell from Saul’s eyes, and he regained his sight. Then he got up and was baptized.”(Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

There is power in no other Name but Jesus that can bring back anything to life. The name of Jesus is the only name that can give us salvation and eternal life for there’s no other name we can be saved.

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
    (‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38‬ ‭KJV‬‬)

  36. 1. And Saul yet breathing out threatening and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest, 2. And desired of him letters to Damascus to the synagogues, that if he found any of this way, whether they were men or women, he might bring them bound unto Jerusalem. 3. And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus, and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven: 4. And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul,Saul, Why persecuted thou me?

  37. v31 Then had the churches rest throughout all Judaea and Galilee and Samaria, and were edified; and walking in the fear of the Lord, and in the comfort of the Holy Ghost, were multiplied.

Jesus declared, ” I will not leave you comfort comfortless: I will come to you John 14:18

As this praise goes 🎶🎵🎶🎵His presence is heaven to me
🎵🎶His Presence is heaven to me 🎵🎶🎵

Truly His Presence is such a comfort.

  38. 6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

Their is nothing like an attitude adjustment from Jesus. Paul’s name was not all that changed. The very first verse of this chapter begins with who Paul used to be.

Each person pursuing a walk with Jesus are a work in progress. We cannot judge our progress with others the same we can’t look down on Saul. It doesn’t matter where we’ve been but where we are going.

  39. “And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Eph 3:1 “There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens:”

Although it is not popular or preferred there are times of trials and suffering. Sometimes of our own doing and times of consequences of our actions.

However 1 Thessalonians 5:16 states “Always be joyful.”
    ‭‭
In the down times and the up times, we have the Good News forever. Regardless of our circumstances, be joyful for the suffering and the blessings.

  40. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel: 16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.17 And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost.18 And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized. 19And when he had received meat, he was strengthened. Then was Saul certain days with the disciples which were at Damascus.20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

    Chosen to suffer

God chose Paul to “bear His name” and in bearing his name Paul would suffer as Christ. Not on the cross but before men. Paul’s suffering would not be the same way as Christ yet suffering he would feel. Yet just as Christ Paul would endure as a good solider.

We too may not be hung on a cross but we will have our own sufferings in this life to endure. Integrity is a great word for today’s chapter. Because we see the beginning of Paul’s ministry and in knowing his end we know he was a man of great integrity.

  41. 22 Yet Saul grew more and more powerful and baffled the Jews living in Damascus by proving that Jesus is the Messiah.

Everyone won’t accept Gods word or us. We must not let this world impact our faith to keep on speaking his truth. Don’t be ashamed of your testimony or Gods word but speak boldly for his kingdom. Your past doesn’t define your future but speaks more of God on how merciful and powerful God is. He is a life changing experience!

  42. NLT
    Acts of the Apostles 9:5,8,11-12
[5]“Who are you, lord?” Saul asked. And the voice replied, “I am Jesus, the one you are persecuting!
[8]Saul picked himself up off the ground, but when he opened his eyes he was blind. So his companions led him by the hand to Damascus.
[11]The Lord said, “Go over to Straight Street, to the house of Judas. When you get there, ask for a man from Tarsus named Saul. He is praying to me right now.
[12]I have shown him a vision of a man named Ananias coming in and laying hands on him so he can see again.”

Lord I pray for the nation that their eyes will be opened to Lord. You are all we need

  43. him forth to Tarsus.

  44. ““Get up and go over to Straight Avenue. Ask at the house of Judas for a man from Tarsus. His name is Saul. He’s there praying. He has just had a dream in which he saw a man named Ananias enter the house and lay hands on him so he could see again.” There was a disciple in Damascus by the name of Ananias. The Master spoke to him in a vision: “Ananias.” “Yes, Master?” he answered.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:10-12‬ ‭MSG‬‬

God spoke to Ananias in a completely different way than He spoke to Saul. Saul had a bold, almost violent confrontation from God, but Ananias heard the voice of God sweetly in a vision, where God called and Ananias obediently responded. To say, “Here I am, Lord” is a perfect response to God. HERE I AM,LORD.

  45. 3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?

Jesus knows how to get our attention. We may as well submit before he has to resort to drastic measures.

  46. 36 Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

37 And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

It doesn’t matter who you are and what things you have done for God at times we all need help. Help from someone, the man of God to to speak the word.
The word of healing of faith.
We shouldn’t be afraid to ask for prayer or help. This lady was dead but the man of God prayed and God raised her up.
What maybe be dead in our lives that is just waiting on a prayer a word from the man of God?
Ask for prayer and don’t be afraid for God will do a work if we will ask.

  47. 33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

34 And Peter said unto him, Aeneas, Jesus Christ maketh thee whole: arise, and make thy bed. And he arose immediately.

35 And all that dwelt at Lydda and Saron saw him, and turned to the Lord.

Many prosperity preachers will have lines of “sick” and they will pray for them, supposedly healing all manner of sickness. Turning many to there sects.

They follow the man that God uses and omit the miracle worker . These things they do claiming they only have this kind of authority and this power.

This is how much different the apóstoles were from modern main stream Christianity. Peter knee to give God all the glory not because he was just a vessel God used but for the purpose God had sent him in the first place, that many would come to the faith by witness of the miracle.

  48. 33 And there he found a certain man named Aeneas, which had kept his bed eight years, and was sick of the palsy.

  49. “All who heard him were amazed. “Isn’t this the same man who caused such devastation among Jesus’ followers in Jerusalem?” they asked. “And didn’t he come here to arrest them and take them in chains to the leading priests?” Saul’s preaching became more and more powerful, and the Jews in Damascus couldn’t refute his proofs that Jesus was indeed the Messiah.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:21-22‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/act.9.21-22.nlt

God showed Saul a vision and changed him forever because When we see what the Lord can do and how he can change us it makes us desire to show people how the Lord change us and how he can change then.

  50. In this chapter…..Meanwhile, Saul was still breathing out murderous threats against the Lord’s disciples. He went to the high priest 2 and asked him for letters to the synagogues in Damascus, so that if he found any there who belonged to the Way, whether men or women, he might take them as prisoners to Jerusalem. 3 As he neared Damascus on his journey, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him. 4 He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”

  51. It is amazing what God can do , he turned a unbeliever into one of the greatest men in the bible

  52. 33 There he found a man named Aeneas, who was paralyzed and had been bedridden for eight years. 34 “Aeneas,” Peter said to him, “Jesus Christ heals you.(AU) Get up and roll up your mat.” Immediately Aeneas got up. 35 All those who lived in Lydda and Sharon(AV) saw him and turned to the Lord

Don’t let go of your promises. We might not see our miracles immediately but we will see them one day. This made me think of Jeff and thinking of the day that God is going to connect those nerves back together and Jeff be completely healed. The Lords timing is always perfect!!! Expectancy level must always be high because we never know when our miracle shall happen.

  53. 20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

The message we need to all preached to this lost and dying world. Everyone should know about who Jesus is. Don’t be afraid to declare his name where you are. When people know the truth, it will set them free. It feels good to not be bound by the pressures of life. If feels good to not be weighed down by the wages of sin. Knowing who Jesus is means understanding what God is able to do in your life.

  54. 20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

21 But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

This in like bumping into someone you use to drink with at the bar and inviting them to church. Paul completely flipped the script. Its amazing what Jesus does to you. I mean this doesn’t happen for everyone but still there is a want to be changed to become a completely new person. On top of this there is an even greater want to share him with everyone. Thank you Jesus for the want the will the strength to change, thank you Jesus for the want to grow in you each and everyday.

  55. “But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our walk with God will confound others and even ourselves! The relationship we have with Him won’t be like our friends or family members because we are all unique individuals. We have different strengths and weaknesses but through it all God’s strength is what unites us as one body. When we dive into His Word and into prayer we and others will see a renewed strength that only comes from God. There’s nothing else like it and we only get there through submission to His will.

I thank God for being our strength! I pray we continue to lay ourselves on the altar, decreasing so that He may increase in our lives.

  56. 20 And straightway he preached Christ in the synagogues, that he is the Son of God.

22 But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

During these times it is very important for everyone to know and hear the word of God. It will show them to not fear and to put faith in the Lord and to turn their life’s to him. We shouldn’t be afraid or listen to those who don’t want us spreading his word, those people should make us see that it is important and make us see that there are people wanting to be saved and set free. God came to Saul and showed him something beautiful which Saul was amazed and saw what God can do and changed his ways of lives. That is what the Lord can do for the Lost, he can use each and every one of us to help save and let us be apart of miracles.

  57. 3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a light from heaven:

    And suddenly….
God does not change but he is also unpredictable.
Last time we hear about that word, suddenly, something great happened from the Lord. He is the same yesterday, today and forever, but he doesn’t always act the same ways. He is a healer yet he can bring healing in many forms. He is a way maker, but he can either open the red sea or bring down the walls of Jericho.

And suddenly. You never know when you will have your next breakthrough or blessing. We are told to watch and be vigilant. To pray. To wait. Why? Because the mighty One of Israel, the great I am can suddenly have an encounter with you where you will be forever changed. Just like Paul your life will not be the same. You never know when God will move in your behalf.

And suddenly like a rushing mighty wind He can pour out His Spirit in you… yet aslo suddenly he can bless, heal, provide, make a creative miracle for you.

You can’t just give up, or think that it’s no happening. You cant just stop chasing after God, you cant just stop believing it serving…because suddenly you can have an encounter with the One that can do anything in your life.

Yes sometimes the road, the toil, the work can get hard…. but suddenly due season will come and you shall reap.

  58. 1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

Some people have nothing but negative to say. Will you let them win or will you triumph on through the midst or adversity??

4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.

In an instance the tables can turn and that negative nay-sayer can turn around and be your biggest supporter! Don’t ever discount one nay-sayer and not reach out to them because of their outlook and belief. It never means that they cannot be turned and shown the truth. Witnessing and outreach can reach those nay-sayers and prove to be a great asset to the kingdom of God!!

  59. 1 And Saul, yet breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, went unto the high priest,

Some people have nothing but negative to say. Will you let them win or will you triumph on through the midst or adversity??

  60. Meanwhile, Saul was uttering threats with every breath and was eager to kill the Lord’s followers. So he went to the high priest.
    Acts 9:1 NLT

Hate if you let it linger can poison your spirit to the point of killing those that you don’t agree with. As followers of Jesus we are to forgive and show His love to others. The bible says that with out love it doesn’t matter what you do it doesn’t do any good with out love.

  61. “But the Lord said, “Go, for Saul is my chosen instrument to take my message to the Gentiles and to kings, as well as to the people of Israel. And I will show him how much he must suffer for my name’s sake.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭9:15-16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

These Scriptures means that, we as The People Of God are a vessel and we will suffer For The Lord’s Sake. For The World Hate Jesus and we will be hated For His Name’s Sake.

  62. But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

  63. 26 When he came to Jerusalem, he tried to join the disciples, but they were all afraid of him, not believing that he really was a disciple. 27 But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles. He told them how Saul on his journey had seen the Lord and that the Lord had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had preached fearlessly in the name of Jesus. 28 So Saul stayed with them and moved about freely in Jerusalem, speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. NIV

Long time therefore abode they speaking boldly in the Lord, which gave testimony unto the word of his grace, and granted signs and wonders to be done by their hands. Acts 14:3

Speaking boldly about God should be such an important part of our lives because, who are we to know the truth and not share it?!

  64. “But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Our words have power what we said shall come to pass. Peter understand that God is able to do anything. Peter pray in faith and the Lord brought Tabitha to life. We ought to have a mindset saying God is able to do everything.

  65. ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:10-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

And there was a certain disciple at Damascus, named Ananias; and to him said the Lord in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, I am here, Lord. And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth, And hath seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in, and putting his hand on him, that he might receive his sight. Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem: And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.”

How would you like to be this guy? The one chosen to go talk the crazy Christian killer into the exact opposite of what he believes. It looked pretty grim for Ananias but he was still obedient. The true test of submission is displayed here. Ananias was no doubt scared and worried but he put it all on the line at the word of the lord. The. Look at the reward. Saul becomes Paul and the whole world gets turned upside down. If we want what the apostles had we have to make those kind of submissive acts like they did. I want to see God move like they did. I want to hear God like they did so I’m going to be ready to act like they did.

  66. 15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

16 For I will shew him how great things he must suffer for my name’s sake.

It’s unreal the suffering that Paul did suffer.

  67. 11 And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the street which is called Straight, and enquire in the house of Judas for one called Saul, of Tarsus: for, behold, he prayeth,

Too often we try to question God like Ananias did, when he tells us we need to do something, well God I don’t know if that is the way I want to go or how I want to do it, I just don’t know God. He is the all knowing God that sees everything that we don’t see. I want to live the way he wants me to live and do what he wants me to do in every situation.

  68. 39 Then Peter arose and went with them.

Nothing is impossible God, what He did back then He will do today. We’re called to pray for sick and be there for those in need. Let God use you wherever you go and let Him glorify Himself however He wishes. You may be surprised how much of an impact you can create in one’s life.

  69. “And Ananias went his way, and entered into the house; and putting his hands on him said, Brother Saul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto thee in the way as thou camest, hath sent me, that thou mightest receive thy sight, and be filled with the Holy Ghost. And immediately there fell from his eyes as it had been scales: and he received sight forthwith, and arose, and was baptized.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭9:17-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When he received the Holy Ghost he immediately got his sight. The falling of the Holy Ghost brought some much power that it not only opened his eyes to the truth, he also saw. When people of the word and truly see the truth, the full truth of God can heal the pains of their body. That is how we see people receiving miracles. It’s God’s great power through revolution and infilling.

  70. 13 Then Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard by many of this man, how much evil he hath done to thy saints at Jerusalem:
14 And here he hath authority from the chief priests to bind all that call on thy name.
15 But the Lord said unto him, Go thy way: for he is a chosen vessel unto me, to bear my name before the Gentiles, and kings, and the children of Israel:

God can use anyone to do great things for His kingdom. It may feel like we are not capable or worthy to do great things because of our sins. But remember in this chapter we see how God transformed a sinner to become a disciple. Just as Saul, we too are vessels that God can use greatly. God is greater than any sin, don’t let sin hold you back to become what God has intended for you to be.

  71. 9 And he was three days without sight, and neither did eat nor drink.

I found this passage to be so telling, that it’s never a coincidence when it comes to time, and numbers in the Bible, Jonah, was in the belly of the whale and could not see the world for 3 days, Jesus was dead, and in the tomb, in the dark for 3 days. And here we see that Saul, could not see for three days. I love the repetitions shown in the Bible ever and ever again, it’s wonderful to see it, and to read it. The more we read, the more we see, the more clear things become, the more things are revealed to us. We may not understand everything we read the first time, or even the second time, but by the third time, it starts to become more and more clear to use. For we are like Saul, we could not see, until God began to open our eyes, as we opened our hearts and minds to him. Praise Jesus, and thank you, Jesus, for everything you continue to bless us.
