Acts 5

But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

And the young men arose, wound him up, and carried him out, and buried him.

And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in.

And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

13 And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them.

14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

18 And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.

19 But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,

20 Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.

21 And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning, and taught. But the high priest came, and they that were with him, and called the council together, and all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought.

22 But when the officers came, and found them not in the prison, they returned and told,

23 Saying, The prison truly found we shut with all safety, and the keepers standing without before the doors: but when we had opened, we found no man within.

24 Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the chief priests heard these things, they doubted of them whereunto this would grow.

25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

26 Then went the captain with the officers, and brought them without violence: for they feared the people, lest they should have been stoned.

27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

31 Him hath God exalted with his right hand to be a Prince and a Saviour, for to give repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins.

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

33 When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;

35 And said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as touching these men.

36 For before these days rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves: who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered, and brought to nought.

37 After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing, and drew away much people after him: he also perished; and all, even as many as obeyed him, were dispersed.

38 And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men, and let them alone: for if this counsel or this work be of men, it will come to nought:

39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

  1. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

There was to much pride in Ananias heart it caused him to hold back from the Lord. His pride overtook his faith. Today’s word is humility, I think it takes a lot of takeing away from yourself to be humble. You need to decrease so that there can be an increase in him. Humble yourself before the lord and he will lift you up in him.

  2. Acts 5
16 Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by impure spirits, and all of them were healed.

    The Great Gathering
The crowds began to Gather . They brought the sick and they were healed. They brought the tormented and they were healed. All not just some but all were healed. We must not stop gathering . This picture here was about a great gathering of people. Bringing those sick ……if we the church stop gathering where is the hope for the sick the tormented . Only God can heal the brokenness of someone and many times when the spirit of a man or woman is healed. the physical becomes made well . This great gathering was for people to be healed . God help us to continue to reach and bring people to The Great Gathering where lives will be changed .

  3. 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

In as much as we have faith in all that we do, this time of fear seams to have cause many to lose faith and not believe the power of God. We have seen God move and work in many lives with great signs and wonders. Many miracles for many that had enough faith to be present with man of God speaking faith for miracles. We have seen God build up what the enemy has torn down. We have seen God set free what the enemy has bound up. We have seen God make a way out of no way. No matter the circumstances and no matter the situation my God has been in the midst. We can not allow the enemy to take what faith we have and bind it to doubt and fear. We have to be overcomers through the name of Jesus Christ. We have to be bold enough to say that God will answer our call and if not we will still worship him. We have to be bold with the power of the Holy Ghost and know that the faith we do have, God will take what faith we have and multiply it.

We have to be willing vessels to be used in this hour as God is pouring his spirit out upon all flesh and we the church have to be ready to receive it. Our faith can drive us to be crazy enough to see God bring those that we have prayed for so long and do things we can’t do. If like the women with the issue of blood, if we can just touch the hem of his garment as he passes by we can get our needs met. We must not forsake the assembling of ourselves together so that God can operate in our midst. We have to believe when our faith runs short and when we don’t have enough faith we have to be obedient to the word of God.

Living Jesus to be able to give Jesus. That is what the day and hour is all about.

  4. Acts 5:40-42
And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Wow …, if we could be as bold as the disciples, what wondrous signs and miracles!

  5. Talk about a story that brings you to humility. I can only imagine the thoughts the younger men who wrapped up Ananias and Sapphira had, as they carried them out and buried them. This was like an eye opening instant lesson on what not to do. Ananias and Sapphira should never have connived to bringing attention to themselves; but, should have humbled themselves before the Lord with a true act of sacrifice. Everything we do, everything we have, everything, absolutely everything comes and is through God. It is not about us; but, about Him (Jesus).

James 4:4-6 MSG says “You’re cheating on God. If all you want is your own way, flirting with the world every chance you get, you end up enemies of God and his way. And do you suppose God doesn’t care? The proverb has it that “he’s a fiercely jealous lover.” And what he gives in love is far better than anything else you’ll find. It’s common knowledge that “God goes against the willful proud; God gives grace to the willing humble.” So let us LIVE-GIVE JESUS with humility.

  6. Thank you Jesus for today, thy kingdom come thy will be done hallelujah

but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
    Philippians 2:7‭-‬8

For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the One who serves.
    Luke 22:27

Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you. Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
    I Peter 5:6‭-‬11

  7. Acts 5: 42 [ Amp ] Yet [ in spite of the threats] they never ceased for a single day, both in the temple area and at home, to teach and to proclaim the good news ( Gospel) of Jesus [ as] the Christ

May your fire of your altar never go out!
Don’t give up , Be a willing vessel to serve where it is needed!

Keep on preaching and teaching about the good news about the Gospel of Jesus.
Think positive and eliminate the negative!

  8. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land.
From my perspective I see an analogy of the affect of abdicating to Satan. In effect when one rejects the atonement made by Jesus, one declares this drawing and measure of faith from the Holy Ghost as invaild, which will cause one to lose eternal life.

  9. 27. And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,

    28. Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

    29. Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
    …..
    40. And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.

    42. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

There will come a time when we have to decide which law we will obey – are we strong enough to make the right decision?
Now is the time to be building that strength and faith…when midnight comes, it will be too late to buy oil.

  10. 34 Then stood there up one in the council, a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, had in reputation among all the people, and commanded to put the apostles forth a little space;

I wish Gamaliel were alive right now so he may see with his own eyes, how this is really from God. For the Name of Jesus did not dissipate like everyone else thought but kept growing to a vast multitude and it will continue to frown until the whole world have heard about Jesus. How do I know??? For Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
There still time !!! As long as there is one person that doesn’t know the name of Jesus, we still have time for Salvation, for once the last person hears about him, God himself, Jesus will return for His Church!! Thank you Jesus for I know you are making sure EVERYONE has a chance for Salvation. GO TEACH JESUS! GIVE JESUS!!!

How is it that some people think they can lie and cheat to God
We must remember everything we have everything we get is the Lord when shouldn’t take advantage

    Psalms 24:1 KJV

It belongs to Jesus nothing we have is ours

  12. 39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
40 And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go.
41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

James chapter 1 tells us to count it all joy when you fall into divers temptations, the disciples here took it a step further and count it Joy to be persecuted and in tribulation. The more we think about what Christ did for us and the agonizing pain that he went through on Calvary, the more important we can understand and place ourselves and the position of complete gratitude over the things we go through just to be more like Christ. to be refined in the fire is painful but necessary, to reflect the best master’s image. As we continue to grow in Christ let us be steady in the gospel with an awakened spirit, that whoever comes against us is coming against God and whatever we suffer let It be for the glory of Christ like he suffered for us

  13. 3 Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself. 4 The property was yours to sell or not sell, as you wished. And after selling it, the money was also yours to give away. How could you do a thing like this? You weren’t lying to us but to God!”

To some, money means more to them than anything else. They value money over family, friends and God. Yes, money is important to have to purchase items, but don’t allow it to cause dispute between family, friends and God. Put God first, and everything will be provided, and blessings in all ways will come.

  14. 41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.
42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

We will never cease to teach and preach Jesus Christ! Through recent happenings, we were tested, yet here we are. Know where your faith lies, where your head lies, where your feet are going, and what your mouth is speaking – walk in the fullness of His Word!

  15. The people also gathered from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing the sick and those afflicted with unclean spirits, and they were all healed. (‭Acts‬ ‭5‬:‭16‬ ESV)

The people gathered together and prepared their way to get to the place where their healing was. They came with expectation to be healed. And The passage states that they were all healed. What is the Lord speaking to you today? Have you made preparations and are you expecting God to complete just what he said?

  16. ‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:36

Can you imagine if God was still killing folks for lying? I wonder how many folks would be zapped in the church if you got zapped for lying? Lying has somehow become acceptable in modern day society. Many studies have been conducted and have found the majority of people in the world lie. Studies say the majority of people lie at least once in a 10 minute conversation.

I realize God is not still zapping those who lie, however the Bible clearly tells us that liers will have their place that burns with eternal fire. We really must change our wicked ways and turn completely to the Truth.

Rev 21:8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

  18. 27 And when they had brought them, they set them before the council: and the high priest asked them,
28 Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.
29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

In a difficult situation whom will you obey, God or man?

  19. 17 Then the high priest rose up, and all they that were with him, (which is the sect of the Sadducees,) and were filled with indignation,

  20. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

If it truly is the Will of the Lord then nothing can stop it. Just like the POFW! God gave us this city for His Kingdom!
That doesn’t mean that everything is gonna go smoothly. It doesn’t mean everything’s gonna be handed to us. We will have to fight. We will have to work. But God will be fighting those battles for us. There are souls to be reached. In Jesus name.

  21. I agree in a difficult situation who will you serve??Back in the bible days it is known that God instantly takes action on followers that disobey him. Jesus helped us on that. But what if we lived more like if we disobey consequences come immediately how would we act?? Wow something to think obout….live Jesus Give Jesus

  22. 5:39 but if it ye of God, you can not overthrow it
Lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.
    🙌🙌🙌
No man will be able to stop the will of God.!!!
But if it is from God….
It might, it might not happen smoothly , but Gods will, shall come to pass, His plan, His purpose will happen.
And He ( in His grace and mercy…) has chosen us to perform it.
Oh that I may continue to be use of God !!regardless….
    I repent
    I seek the Lord
    I am His vessel.

    WALK IN THE SPIRIT

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

Upon this WORD today, I have been blessed with greater understanding of the moving of the SPIRIT of GOD. The disciple reveals the understanding they have of the eternal GOD and HIS deity. “The Holy Ghost is witness of these things”. This phrase indicates that the disciples knew the Holy Ghost which they had received was the same Spirit of GOD from the beginning of time. Not a separate and distinct person in the Godhead that came along after the death of JESUS.

They also reveal the fact that OBEDIENCE is the Key to receive the Holy Ghost. OBEDIENCE does not question the outcome or motive of the assignment. OBEDIENCE guarantees the Gift of GOD will be with us.

OBEDIENCE is how we walk in the Spirit.

  24. Acts 5

1 But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession,

2 And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

  25. So in Acts Chapter 5 it’s talking about Humility and in Verses 1-5 it’s talking about how Ananias sold a possession and his wife was laid at the apostles feet then Peter Filled Satan Heart to lie to the Holy Ghost and to keep part of the land then while it was remained it was sold and Conceived in thine heart and hast not lie but unto God then Ananias gave up the Holy Ghost then Fear came on them

  26. 11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.
12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction. Proverbs 1:7.
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever. Psalms 111:10
Fear in these verses is a healthy respect.
“And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Matthew 10:28

  27. ‘More and more believers in the Lord, crowds of men and women, were constantly being added to their number, to such an extent that they even carried their sick out into the streets and put them on cots and sleeping pads, so that when Peter came by at least his shadow might fall on one of them [with healing power].

But the high priest stood up, along with all his associates (that is, the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousy and resentment. ‘

    Acts 5:14-15,17 AMP

Leadership comes at a cost. Leadership will always surrender privileges, one of the many is someone is always watching. Well, hello, isn’t that leadership? Leading someone will require them to watch you to know where to follow.

Along with those following you, there are others that are watching in jealousy waiting for you to make a mistake.

So don’t lose hope, when there are some standing by waiting for you to trip, and others waiting for you to succeed. Just continue to Seek FIRST the Kingdom!

  28. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

The enemy is a sly old fox – he may not trick you to hold back a portion that you committed to him, he may trick you to hold back your time and talent from the Kingdom of God

God wants us to be willing to give Him everything – our time, our talent, our treasure. When we make a vow (leadership covenant) and we don’t follow through with that, it is just the same as Ananias and his wife in this chapter. They vowed and then they lied, and it cost them their life.

It may not cost us our physical life to withhold the time, talent and treasure from God, but it will most assuredly cost us our spiritual life, because it places us in a place of disobedience, and disobedience is witchcraft, which is sin.

  31. “and with his wife’s full knowledge [and complicity] he kept back some of the proceeds, bringing only a portion of it, and set it at the apostles’ feet.

As long as it remained [unsold], did it not remain your own [to do with as you pleased]? And after it was sold, was the money not under your control? Why is it that you have conceived this act [of hypocrisy and deceit] in your heart? You have not [simply] lied to people, but to God.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:2, 4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Ananias allowed his pride to overtake him to the point where he was no longer humble. Because of this he fell down and died. We must make sure that when we are doing the work of the lord that we aren’t allowing pride to overtake us. We must remain humble and always remember to seek the kingdom first.

  32. 29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

  33. 7 And it was about the space of three hours after, when his wife, not knowing what was done, came in. 8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

Understanding loyalty makes us examine what or whom we are loyal to. This women had the opportunity to tell the truth. She valued upholding a lie constructed between her and her husband. What she was not aware of was her husbands death merely 3 hours prior for this offense. No one in the ministry killed him.

God would have forgave her for constructing a lie and being forth coming of their scheme. This is a heart problem because what lies within it will manifest outwardly. She had to chose what comes first; loyalty to God or her husband. No relationship is more important than our relationship with our Savior. We have that same opportunity every day to repent when we come short. God knows all things and sees all things so it’s not worth our soul or our relationship with him to willingly lie to the Holy Ghost. God comes first always.

  34. Acts 5:1-5 (VOICE)
    1) Once a man named Ananias, with his wife Sapphira fully cooperating, committed fraud. He sold some property
    2) and kept some of the proceeds, but he pretended to make a full donation to the Lord’s emissaries.
    3) (Peter speaking) Ananias, have you allowed satan to influence your lies to the Holy Spirit and hold back some of the money?
    4) Look, it was your property before you sold it, and the money was all your after you sold it. Why have you concocted (conceived – kjv) this scheme in your heart? You weren’t just lying to us; you were lying to God.
    5) Ananias heard these words and immediately dropped to the ground, dead; fear overcame all those who heard of the incident.

    “Conceived In Your Heart”
Conceive means to come up with, to devise, to form, to invent, to create, to develop, to hatch, etc…
St. Matt. 12:34 says, “… for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”
It was easy for Ananias to lie because his plan was already “Conceived (devised, formed, invented, created, developed, hatched) In His Heart.”
    BUT
The one thing Ananias forgot was… He was not just lying to man, BUT to God (the one who searches thing out and knows the secrets of our hearts. PS. 44:21.)
It may be one thing to lie to man and get away with it, BUT it is an entirely different thing to lie to God for you will never get away with it.
There are 7 things in Proverbs 6 which are an abomination to the Lord. Two of which are 1) a lying tongue & 2) An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations.
Proverbs 12:22 says, “Lying lips are abomination to the Lord:…

    So today Lord…
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. PS. 139:23-24
    So today Lord…
Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

  35. Healed or not healed

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

Daniel was delivered from the lion’s den, but the apostle Paul remained in chains for many years and was eventually beheaded by the Romans. Peter was miraculously set free from prison but James the brother of John was executed by the sword. Where is the fairness, the justice, the impartiality in all of this? The plain answer is that there isn’t any. The real question is not “Why does the Lord heal some and not others?” It’s “Why is anyone ever healed at all?”

There’s only one way to live with this seemingly inconsistency, and it can be summed up in a single word: faith. We must believe that all things work for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For some this will mean physical healing, deliverance and victory. For others it will involve an opportunity to share in the sufferings of Christ. It’s not our place to reason why, but simply to accept the role assigned to us.

  36. Acts 5
Annaias and his wife Sapphira lied to God and were struck down for it. It was about money! So many people in this world value the wrong things. God always takes care of His children. Trying to decieve God is fruitless. He knows all things. Love our Lord and He will take care of you.

  37. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Obviously the lesson learned here is to not withhold offerings and what is due to God. It’s not worth your life. Give unto the Lord what is due to him. If you make a pledge or an offering. . . Follow through!

9 Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.
10 Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

Our second lesson to be learned is, if you know something is wrong, do not lie for someone else. Don’t partake in their sin to get a cut or a favor. Because that is just as wrong and again not worth giving up life itself because you couldn’t stand up an say this is wrong, we shouldn’t do this. Even if that person is your own spouse or sibling, or relative. Sin is sin and is judged accordingly. Again, If you make a pledge or an offering. . . Follow through!

  38. Whom the Son sets free, is free in deed! Don’t let the enemy stop your testimony nor preaching the Gospel!

25 Then came one and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple, and teaching the people.

“Be blessed and hold on help is on the way!”

  39. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

Satan will always try his best to distract us and try to get us to stray from the things of god and the truth, that is when we need to and have to stand strong in the word of god so whenever the enemy tries to attack we can resist the attacks and defeat them.

  40. 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

When the word of God is taught, people can be added to this gospel. This means that those of us who know the truth must begin to spread the truth wherever we go. God meant for us to proclaim his word in season and out of season. We should not just proclaim God’s word and his goodness when things are going well. We must proclaim it all the time. It is his word that has delivered us and kept us. Let’s be the Christians God has called us to be.

  41. “And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” (Acts 5:40-42)

God has called us to walk and follow in his footsteps. it would be crazy to think that while on the walk we wouldn’t face hardships and discomfort, when story after story in the bible demonstrated how Jesus suffered. But just as Jesus suffering was not done in vain, neither will the suffering we endure in his name.

“and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.” (Romans 8:17)

  42. Hechos 5:40-42

  43. 39 But if it be of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest haply ye be found even to fight against God.

How many can testify that Gods never failed. A few scriptures up it talked about God giving the holy ghost to those who obeyed. Well Gods gonna lead your steps i you obey and seek him first every day. You don’t have to worry about something trying to overthrow the word of God cause it can never happen. Gods hand is gonna continue to be on you in trials and tribulations but remember when you come out of the fire he’s still with you. Put your trust in the father and set your worries to the side.

  44. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.
    Acts 5:41‭-‬42 KJV

The difference and Power is in the Name JESUS.
Some dont mind if you say just God. Yet there are many gods out there. Some rather use any other form or word or jus God to not offend. Yet the Word of God clearly tells us that there is no other name give among men whereby we must be saved. The name of Jesus is what makes all the difference. The name has so much in it self. It is relationship, its identity, its power to save, heal, deliver and perform miracles. Even the people that believe in the trinity pray to the father in the name of Jesus. The difference and all power lies in the name of our Lord. He is not allah, or buddha, nor Mohammed, is name is JESUS. We are apostolic in doctrine people or the name. So we must keep proclaiming boldly the gospel of Jesus and know that we have have hardships becuase of the name. Yet all power is in His Name.

  45. In this chapter… a man named Ananias, together with his wife Sapphira, also sold a piece of property. With his wife’s full knowledge he kept back part of the money for himself, but brought the rest and put it at the apostles’ feet.

  46. 14 And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)

We must bring the multitudes to the place where they can find their Healer, Master, Saviour, Father and Friend.

We must bring them to Jesus!

  47. 1. But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possession, 2. And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles feet. 3. But Peter said , Ananias, Why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep Baco part of the price of the land?

  48. 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.

16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

God did so many great things that the church grew in size. The people brought the sick by the road just to have Peter’s shadow touch them. Why because they had faith that said you don’t even have to lay hands on or speak to the sick but just the shadow touch them.
Do we have that kind of faith?
We must have faith that God can do anything anywhere and anyway he wants.
We just have to be ready to receive and act when he moves.

  49. Acts 5:29: “But Peter and the other apostles answered and said: ‘We ought to obey God rather than men.’”

We read here about obedience but in Romans 13 it tells us of our responsibility is to be in submission to all those in authority over us. But there are many examples in the bible of where obeying God was the only possible response. But today if we were to find ourselves in a similar situations, as those in the bible we must remember that we must make sure that we have scriptural authority. And we must be ever so careful to act with humility. This is our foundation on which we as believers have gone out sharing our faith. Let’s be inspired by the sacrifices of those who have gone before us and especially by those who paid the ultimate price with their very lives.

  50. 12 And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.

By the hands of the apostles; by the apostles’ ministry: though they were holy and excellent men, they were but instruments; the power they acted by was God’s power; the Holy Ghost, which they had prayed for and acknowledged. It was thru the Holy Ghost that they had in them. The same power that had raised Jesus from the dead, it now dwelled in them. Thank you! Jesus, for Giving us your Spirit, it is your power in us.

  51. Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.
    Acts Apostles 5:3 NLT

When you let Satan fill your heart with sin and temptations it will lead you to a path of death. When your heart is filled with sin even good intentions are fueled by carnality.
When we do things it should be with pure intentions and lead by the love and compassion of Christ.

  52. “He brought part of the money to the apostles, claiming it was the full amount. With his wife’s consent, he kept the rest. Then Peter said, “Ananias, why have you let Satan fill your heart? You lied to the Holy Spirit, and you kept some of the money for yourself.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭5:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There may indeed be the further implication that Ananias and Sapphira had vowed to give the whole proceeds of the sale to God, but then changed their mind and handed over only part.
Once the love of money takes possession of a person, there is no evil that he cannot or will not do.

  53. Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings!

    Acts 5:29 NIV
    https://acts.bible/acts-5-29

We shouldn’t be so focused and worried on what man might think of us, we need to be worried about what God thinks of us. We can’t really on man because they won’t save you only God will. We need to keep our eyes on Him and only Him before we get to caught up on man.

    LIVE GIVE JESUS!

  54. 15 Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.
30 The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.

We should not be affected by society opinion about Christians because we know strongly that he the only God and we should care about what He thinks about us.

  55. “But Peter and the apostles replied, “We must obey God rather than any human authority.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭5:29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This Scripture means that, We must submit to God’s Authority. We have Teach and Preach The Name Of Jesus no matter what the world says so they can be saved In The Name Of Jesus.

  56. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

Everyday us an opportunity to preach and teach Jesus. More than ones opinion man needs Jesus. More than funny jokes or a good time man needs Jesus. More than fun and games man needS Jesus. Let us be more willing to lead other to Jesus by ensuring we are teach and preach Jesus to them.

  57. v 28 Saying, Did not we straily command you that ye should not teach in this name? and , behold ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.

We can rely and trust that powerful name that is above all names.

  58. Give to God what belongs to God

    Malachi 3:10-12
“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not drop their fruit before it is ripe,” says the Lord Almighty. “Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land,” says the Lord Almighty.

    2 Corinthians 9:6-8
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work.

    Matthew 10:8
… Freely you have received; freely give.

  59. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

    Hallelujah

  60. 29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

This means we must be in obedience to God.
When we begin to listen to what man says rather than the word of God, we begin to draw ourselves away from Him. Which can lead us to destruction and even death. God is the truth and the Way! Let us be obedient and we will see His blessings.

  61. 29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

32 And we are his witnesses of these things; and so is also the Holy Ghost, whom God hath given to them that obey him.

We are the children of the Lord, we are also his witnesses for every miracle and every saving he has done for us. As today we are still the children of the Lord it is very important for all of us to obey and follow his commandments that he may give us. As the children of God I pray that the Lord gives us all strength and courage, and that each and everyone of us are faithful to the word and spreading his word, showing the people how he can save them.

  62. “And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:41-42‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Blessed are those that suffer for His name, for the Kingdom of Heaven is theirs. My mouth shall speak the praise of the Lord: and let all flesh bless His Holy name for ever and ever. Daily in the temple, and in every household we shall teach and preach that Jesus Christ is Lord over all. I choose to believe in the word of God.

  63. ‭‭Let his blood be upon me!

    Acts‬ ‭5:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Saying, Did not we straitly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine, and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.”

These Pharisees proclaimed the gospel right back to them.

Pharisee asks: What are you trying to do they said???
Trying to fill the city with your doctrine???

    Apostles answers Emphatically yes!!!

Pharisee asks: Are you trying to bring this mans blood on us?
    Apostles answers Emphatically yes again!
This is the whole point of the gospel. Get his blood on everyone.

Let his blood be upon me !

  64. 42 And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.

I love this passage, that after the apostles were beaten and forbidden to continue to preach in the name of Jesus Christ, they continued to proclaim him the Lord, the Messiah. For as Peter says, it is better to follow the laws of the Lord, than the laws of man. For man’s laws are from man, and the Lord’s laws are from God. I would much rather obey God than man, for God is perfect, and man is sinful, and all have fallen short of the glory of God. Today, we see this very thing happening all across our country and the world, many leaders are trying to stop the word of Jesus, with the closings of churches as being claimed that they are non essential. The laws of “man” seem to change from one day to the next without even a vote, or debate on wether or not these laws should even exist. The Lord’s return is coming closer and closer to us with each passing day, and the prophecies are coming true. We had better hold to what Jesus commanded because soon we will have to answer for whose laws we decided to follow. Hallelujah, Praise Jesus, he is the Messiah, he is alive, he has risen, and he is coming back very, very soon.

  65. 3 But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?

4 Whiles it remained, was it not thine own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? why hast thou conceived this thing in thine heart? thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

5 And Ananias hearing these words fell down, and gave up the ghost: and great fear came on all them that heard these things.

What’s the point to lie to God if he already knows what’s gonna happen

  66. 41 And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.

People often wonder saying what does she have that I don’t have. Simple that is The Holy Ghost, we shine for Jesus. I’d say Jesus in me , live Jesus and give Jesus to draw the lost to Jesus without ceasing.

  67. “So in the present case, I say to you, stay away from these men and let them alone, for if this plan or action is of men [merely human in origin], it will fail and be destroyed; but if it is of God [and it appears that it is], you will not be able to stop them; or else you may even be found fighting against God!””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:38-39‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Tonight our missionary from Brazil said if those like Mother Teresa could see the value in prayer without the full truth, what is stopping us that do? This is what I see in this verse. Gamaliel was well known throughout the people, so he wasn’t just anybody deciding to stand up and talk in front of the council. His advice was to leave them alone because “if it be of God ye cannot overthrow it”. This man did not believe in Jesus but he had enough wisdom to know not to touch what is of God.

I thank God He is all places at all times so He cannot be moved!

I pray we get allow that message to saturate our hearts. We are constantly tapped into the greatest power there ever was, is, and going to be. If it be of God, ye CANNOT overthrow it. His will can’t be stopped, it can’t be thwarted. He knows all and Will always keep His promises. I choose to believe!

  68. 8 And Peter answered unto her, Tell me whether ye sold the land for so much? And she said, Yea, for so much.

11 And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

    You can’t lie to God.
He sees our hearts and knows what we truly desire. Our hearts are devious and can lead us to sin. We must guide our hearts with His word. It’ll lead us to a righteous life that pleases God.

  69. “Peter said, “Ananias, how did Satan get you to lie to the Holy Spirit and secretly keep back part of the price of the field? Before you sold it, it was all yours, and after you sold it, the money was yours to do with as you wished. So what got into you to pull a trick like this? You didn’t lie to men but to God.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:3-4‬ ‭MSG‬‬
His sin was greed (in keeping the money); but his greater sin was pride, in wanting everyone to consider him so spiritual that he “gave it all” – when he had not.

  70. 42 Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

It’s important for us to preach/teach even ourselves about the good news about Jesus day to day!

  71. 16 There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks, and them which were vexed with unclean spirits: and they were healed every one.

This is was I pray for and expect at Los Pentecostales. That the word would go out into Fort Worth and multitudes would come out of the city, and everyone that was sick or vexed with unclean spirits, were healed everyone.

This world needs to know the power that is in the name of Jesus.

  72. 41-42 The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name. Day after day, in the temple courts and from house to house, they never stopped teaching and proclaiming the good news that Jesus is the Messiah.

When we obey and follow in his path his favor and grace goes before us to every land that needs to hear of his salvation. Make sure we daily follow after his voice and not those of this world to impact us. Why wouldn’t we want to tell everyone the greatness of what God is doing in these times!

  73. “And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. And of the rest durst no man join himself to them: but the people magnified them. And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes both of men and women.)”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:12-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All because the flesh left the church.

The apostles did miracles and people got the Holy Ghost because the flesh left the church. This forty days of the fire let’s make sure that we put our own flesh on the altar so that the glory of God can fall at POFW.
