Acts 1

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.

13 And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

15 And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

16 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

22 Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

23 And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

26 And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

  1. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Unity, with one accord, they continued together to pray, to worship, all together. Where 2 or more are gathered he is there. If anything is learned during these times is that we need each other. We are an army we are his army and he wants to continually add to it. Unity, is not just being together, its coming together with the same mind set.

  2. Jesus already knows the hearts of all men.

Maybe we want power without being lead of Holy Ghost, Jesus is saying, BUT you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you..

Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

    Acts 1:24 KJV
[24] And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men , shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

2 Chronicles 7:3 And when all the children of Israel saw how the fire came down, and the glory of the LORD upon the house, they bowed themselves with their faces to the ground upon the pavement, and worshipped, and praised the LORD, saying, For he is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.

Then will I hear from heaven

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

  3. 1 The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,
2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:
3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God

Jesus was not taking up until his job was finished, he works until the day he was finished. What we need to realize is our work is not done until God has called us out. The word that God has called us to do is to be filled with his passion through those infallible proofs. We have never needed to be more united more than now. The more we unite, the more we’re able to get done. At the end of these forty days, we can reflect on what work has been completed and what work there is left to do. Nevertheless, we continue to push and to labor for the Lord until the day he calls us up.

  4. Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence

  5. So in Acts Chapter 1 verses 2-5 we are talking about unity then in verses 2-5 it’s talking about how he went through the Holy Ghost upon the Apostles then he shewed himself after his infallible Proofs then Speaking the Things and seeing them for Forty Days then he Commanded him to not depart from Jerusalem but to wait for Jesus then John shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost

  6. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

The Lord laid it out to where they had to be obedient in following the Lord’s instruction, diligent in seeking Him, and unified with the brethren before He would fulfill His promise and prophesy to pour out His Spirit. When we are distant from the Presence of God these actions can draw us closer to Him and align us with His Will and Purpose.
Obedient and disciplined in prayer and fasting
    Diligent in seeking
United wholly with the Body of Christ so that He can work through us without restriction.
I pray for an unrestricted, unified heart in every member of the body of Christ today.
Today is the day of Pentecost and we are going to see miracles in the lives of hurting hearts today. Souls will be set free today! In Jesus name!!!

  7. “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.””

We must trust the Holy Spirit to guide us where He wants us to go, then use the power of the Holy Spirit given to us to be a witness for Christ

  8. Acts 1
The anticipation of waiting for the promise . Jesus had just ascended up into Heaven . Yet the disciples had to act upon what He had just told them . They were getting to receive power they had never known. It was not a time to separate but a time to come together
4 All these with one mind and one purpose were continually devoting themselves to prayer, [waiting together]

    Waiting Together for The Promise
They were assembled in an upper room . How much space there was we do not know . But they were together the were in unity and in prayer. God help us to stay united with one another as we wait for your return . Help us to use the power within us to what Jesus Christ said we would be able to do .
I’ve learned if anything the pact 40 days is that unity and togetherness is so important. The world wants to separate divide when Jesus wants unity .
There is strength in prayer . There is strength in unity .ive thanked God over and over this past 40 Fays for my church family. As I listen to the voices during prayer and during worship . I can close my eyes and recognize the voices. Unified in prayer and worship . Thank you for the unity within the body of Christ . We do have the power within us we must continue with one purpose and one mind continuing in unity and prayer.

  9. Verse 14 MSG “They agreed they were in this for good, completely together in prayer, the women included. Also Jesus’ mother, Mary, and his brothers.” We (POFW) are all in this together “unity”.

1 Peter 3:8-9 AMP says “Finally, all of you be like-minded [united in spirit], sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted [courteous and compassionate toward each other as members of one household], and humble in spirit; and never return evil for evil or insult for insult [avoid scolding, berating, and any kind of abuse], but on the contrary, give a blessing [pray for one another’s well-being, contentment, and protection]; for you have been called for this very purpose, that you might inherit a blessing [from God that brings well-being, happiness, and protection].”

Ephesians 4:2-6 CEV “Always be humble and gentle. Patiently put up with each other and love each other. Try your best to let God’s Spirit keep your hearts united. Do this by living at peace. All of you are part of the same body. There is only one Spirit of God, just as you were given one hope when you were chosen to be God’s people. We have only one Lord, one faith, and one baptism. There is one God who is the Father of all people. Not only is God above all others, but he works by using all of us, and he lives in all of us.” So let us LIVE-GIVE JESUS in unity!

  10. Thank you Jesus Christ for today, thy kingdom come thy will be done . Lets praise him and come with expectation

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
    Acts of the Apostles 1:8

    There is strength in unity

“I also tell you this: If two of you agree here on earth concerning anything you ask, my Father in heaven will do it for you. For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
    Matthew 18:19‭-‬20

    Faith over fear

How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony! For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron’s head, that ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe.
    Psalms 133:1‭-‬2

Therefore I, a prisoner for serving the Lord, beg you to lead a life worthy of your calling, for you have been called by God. Always be humble and gentle. Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Make every effort to keep yourselves united in the Spirit, binding yourselves together with peace. For there is one body and one Spirit, just as you have been called to one glorious hope for the future.
    Ephesians 4:1‭-‬4

I appeal to you, dear brothers and sisters, by the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ, to live in harmony with each other. Let there be no divisions in the church. Rather, be of one mind, united in thought and purpose.

  11. 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

The greatest part of the birth of the book of Acts church was the obedience to the word of Jesus to tarry in Jerusalem. They obeyed his request and they gathered in the upper room. The next greatest part of the birth was they were gathered together in one accord in prayer and supplication. We should be able to follow suit of them that felt the power of God sweep through the upper room. That same power is still available for us today. We have the greatest opportunity to be in the greatest movement if only we stay united. We have to not allow anything to detour us from see the power of God move among us. We have to be unified in spirit and in faith.

When the Holy Ghost fell in chapter 2, they were all filled and it began the outpouring to add 3000 souls to the newly born church. Because they were in one accord non one place, like minded and willing to pray until the comforter was given according to the words of Jesus.

It’s about P.U.S.H- praying until something happens! We have to make up our minds to stay focus on the word of God and the promise of God until we receive was is promised to us. We have to make a push in this day and hour that we are faced with. We have a nation that is in unrest and distress. We have to be that voice of peace and comfort, but we can only do it if we pray and intercede. Let’s be the church God called us to be.

  12. 3. To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Have people seen Jesus (in us, through us) these past forty days? Have we been speaking of the things pertaining to the Kingdom of God?
Now is no time to stop, but let’s use these past forty days as training and preparation to ramp up our Living Jesus and Giving Jesus going forward and watch Him bless our efforts!

  13. God will give you the Holy Ghost if you pray and seek him, God is no respective of persons. Pray and repent and you can receive it. It will change your life. The holy ghost is you best friend.

  14. 6So when the apostles were with Jesus, they kept asking him, “Lord, has the time come for you to free Israel and restore our kingdom?”

With accepting Jesus as savior, we are free. We are free from the the devil, who has no authority over us. We have the power to perform miracles in Jesus name. We all look forward to being in heaven one day, but in the mean time, continue to praise God.

  15. Act1:20 [ amp] For in the book of Psalms it is written , Let his place of residence become deserted and gloomy, and let there be no one to live in it; and [ again] , Ley another take his position or overseership.
Ps 69:25 [ amp] Let their habitation and their encampment be a desolation; let no one dwell in their tents.
    Ps. 108:8 [ amp] Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine;
Ephraim also is my Stronghold and defense of My head,Judah is My scepter and lawgiver.
Here Judas was the overseer for God.
God is my stronghold and defense.
Being obeinant and submissive to his word for our lives.
Give God the praise and Glory!

  16. 2 Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

3 To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

  17. 3 “To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:”‭‭
4 “And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.”
‭‭ 5 “For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.”

Truly he still life after 2000 years plus he still show himself to many. Still show himself to men speak to them about The pouring of the Holy Ghost, and telling us to not remove ourselves from it.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  18. 1:4. And being assembled together with them
Commended them that they should not depart from
Jerusalem , but wait for the promise of the Father
Which said He you have heard of me.

——- but wait for the promise of The Father….
What he said and promised , it will come to pass.
Holt Spirit, best promise we can receive from our Father.
We must believe the rest of His promises, if they waited for that promise, we should also wait for all the others..
HE SHALL BRI G THEM TO PASS.🙌🙌🙌
In 2008 I heArd this promise in this local church
Someone asked me, Did you receive since you believed?
In 2009 I received that promise.yay!!! It took a year which it looked like it took forever, but it happened.
    👉WAIT, Wit, WAIT! !!!! Patiently.
    I repent
    I rejoice
I keep holding unto His promises.

  19. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    CHOSEN FROM THE FAITHFUL

21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

The wisdom of GOD is revealed through HIS selection process, from the FAITHFUL HE CHOSE the replacement or successor for Judas. There are 2 imortant factors to remember in this passage.

    1. EVERYONE can be replaced. We all have unique value, gifts and talents, but we are all one sinful choice from replacement.

    2. If we seek a position, place or opportunity we must first be FAITHFUL to the one we currently hold.

Strong Leadership is built on these powerful principals. Lets choose to be FAITHFUL.

  20. 12 Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day’s journey.

Waiting on the promise to come is never easy and sometimes it takes longer than we expect. These 120 waited days for the promise and they had no idea how it would come, they just knew they were instructed to go wait for it to come.

Sometimes that is God’s plan to for us to wait for it…. some of that is to see how bad we want it and other times it is too work things out of our lives that God needs to deal with.

For whatever reason God may have us in a holding pattern waiting on the fulfillment of His promises, just be happy in the moment, let the love of God shine through you regardless of what season of life you are in and the time between the promise given and the promise fulfilled will be a much better season. Sometimes we get our eyes on the promise so much that we miss the season we are in. Every season has a purpose, nothing happens by chance.

  21. 5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

I don’t understand why do people put so much emphasis on politics. Yes, there is a level of importance but not above the spiritual. Here we see it as the first thing they ask is are you restoring the kingdom of Israel? Is the same as today, this pandemic should of brought us to our knees praying n prayer, it should of made us to look for God, to get a closer relationship with Him; but most of the people went crazy protesting after a couple of week requesting to restore their normality. We will never go back to how it used to be, we will have to adjust to a new “normal”. All this other things are taking the importance of this pandemic and shifting it to the “murdering wasp” or now the situation with George Floyd. We must open our eyes! THE ONLY ANSWER IS JESUS CHRIST!!!! THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN CHANGE THINGS IS JESUS CHRIST. Their trying to divide us for a nation decided will fall quicker. LOVE UNITES!!! SPREAD JESUS LOVE EVERYWHERE YOU GO!!!! SHOW JESUS IN YOUR ACTIONS, GIVE JESUS IN YOUR WORDS!!! TEACH JESUS BY EXAMPLE!!! Nothing else matters!

  22. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
Act 1:14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Today our Character Word of the day is “Unity”. I think verse #14 perfectly sums up this word. Notice the words, “they all continued with one accord”. This reveals to us the importance of corporate prayer and the power of unified agreement. The greek word for one accord is the following.

    ὁμοθυμαδόν

    homothumadon

    hom-oth-oo-mad-on’

Adverb from a compound of the base of G3674 and G2372; unanimously: – with one accord (mind).

This seems to implicate the fact their minds were all together in focus prayer

  23. Acts 1:4-8
“ And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me. But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

It is important for us to “gather” together so that we are united in prayer With one accord. Unity can break all yokes and bind all hinderances!

  24. 24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

An appeal was made to God; Thou, Lord, who knowest the hearts of all men, which we do not; and better than they know their own. It is fit that God should choose his own servants; and so far as he, by the disposals of his providence, or the gifts of his Spirit, shows whom he was chosen, or what he has chosen for us, we ought to fall in with his will. Let us own his hand in the determining everything which befalls us, especially in those by which any trust may be committed to us.

  25. 14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

    Acts 1:14 NIV
    https://acts.bible/acts-1-14

Today’s chapter is talking about “Unity” we all need to unite with each other as a family in Christ. We are all one as a family and as a family we unite together!

    LIVE GIVE JESUS!

  26. Acts 1:8, “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”

God empowers (to equip) us with the power of the Holy Ghost for the purpose of being a witness for Him.
    LIVE JESUS – GIVE JESUS

  27. 21 Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

Although both were there and walked with Jesus and the disciples much of the time, and had a detailed testimony, only one was chosen. We must keep our lamps lit, and be ready, that way when the time comes, we might be chosen to be one chosen for His work…

  28. 10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

The promise of his return will soon be and I am troubled by souls who are too caught up in their own life to watch for his return. We may all be guilty of this at some point in time but by gathering together to hear his word, we are renewed in our minds, that heaven is our home and not this world. I pray Jesus, today you will save me!

  29. 7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

This is uncharted waters for the disciples of Jesus so it’s natural to wonder what’s next. In a society where information is at the tips of our fingers this may sound crazy. God does not operate on our time clock. He doesn’t measure time the same way we do. It’s something that should keep us on our toes. Living for God today like he may come back for us tomorrow.

To actually have to be patient and wait until the timing God has set takes trusting him and His will. We may not know what tomorrow may bring but our God holds the future.

  30. The Power to Wait

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Waiting is a powerful verb. There is saying that states good things come to those who wait. It is definitely not always easy to wait, but the reward is worth it.

Psalm 27:14 says Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord. As Christians we must learn to wait if we are to see the benefits of God. In our time of waiting God will reveal to us some things about ourselves that we did not even know existed. Being in denial is one of the most dangerous positions to be in. However, when God reveals something to you in your waiting your period, that’s when it’s time to stop denying issues with self and reach for change.

When you wait, you are able to see the bigger picture. You don’t rush into action, but you plan out your strategy and then respond. God has a plan and it will work. It will only work for you, if you learn how to wait for God’s timing and not try to do things in your own timing.

  31. Acts 1:5
For John truly baptized with water; but he shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Before I went to a Pentecostal church, I never understood about the Holy Ghost. I understood about Jesus but was never taught about baptism in Jesus name and speaking in tongues. I was once told speaking in tongues was the devil. This kind of nonsense is why it is important to get people to come to our church to understand the true word of Jesus. I am fortunate for the P.O.F.W. Thank you Pastor Watts!!!

  32. 24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

We should always pray that the lord would always speak to our hearts each and every day about the things of the kingdom and what he leads us to do.

  33. ““So now we must choose a replacement for Judas from among the men who were with us the entire time we were traveling with the Lord Jesus— from the time he was baptized by John until the day he was taken from us. Whoever is chosen will join us as a witness of Jesus’ resurrection.” So they nominated two men: Joseph called Barsabbas (also known as Justus) and Matthias.”

    https://www.bible.com/116/act.1.21-23.nlt

We must not let others take our praise because their will be some one trying to more than you and strive to be closer to God. We should not backslide and let sin take us to death but we must strive hard in the kingdom.

  34. 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Jesus said wait for the promise.
I know He was talking about the Holy Ghost in the verse but we can also apply this to the promise of his return to take his church.
He said he would come again it is a promise we have to have faith and believe his word and wait for him.
The story of the 10 virgins 5 prepared and waited and 5 did not prepare or wait because the promise of the bridegroom coming was to long of a wait I can enjoy myself now. With that kind of mind set we just like the unwise virgins could miss the promise of going with Jesus.

The promise of Jesus coming again will happen if we are ready or not the question is will we be ready will we go with him or will he say depart from me i never knew you.

  35. 23. And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias. 24. And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen, 25. That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place. 26. And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias , and he was numbered the eleven apostle.

  36. “And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.” (Acts 1:7)

Without a question, the biggest thing I struggle with it surrendering control of my goings to anyone. I like to know what I’m going to do and when I going to do it. I often choose solo activities, because I prefer to be in control without inconveniencing others with my preferences. I like to plan…I’m a planner and I plan several different outcomes to any event because it makes my mind happy. However God someone how knows how throw a few curves balls in there from time to time. I’m sure its just to remind me that I can’t plan for everything and I must allow room for some flexibility. He also reminds me that everything will happen in his time. He knows our hearts desires and our ultimate calling…even when they remain unclear to us.

“ But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
    ( Peter 3:8-9)

God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything.” (1 John 3:20)

  37. 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

We have been given a commission and it’s time to go in Jesus Name!

  38. 6 When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?
7 And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

    NLT
    Jeremiah 29:11
[11]For I know the plans I have for you,” says the lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

    NIV
    Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future

  39. 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
5 For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

The Lord had told them to wait for the promise given to them was coming their way. The Lord teaches each of us to be patient and to wait. We need to understand that every promise the Lord makes us isn’t going to come right then and there, it will take some time but remember that the Lord let’s everything happen for a reason and has a time for everything. Patients and waiting is worth a whole lot even though it may not be easy.

  40. 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Wait for the promise. What has God spoken to you or what Word has gone through in your life. Dont get frustrated in the wait. Just like the promise finally came and it was the best thing ever being filled with Gods Spirit. So will every Word that He has spoken will be fulfilled. Just wait for the promise before you know it it will come.

  41. 25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

One can be IN church, and one can ENGAGE in the church, being ENGAGED in the Kingdom is ministry. Ministry is crucial in taking part of the Kingdom!

  42. “And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood. For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Don’t let the worldly things deceive you for it can cost you to not enter into the kingdom of God. For it is written in the book of Psalms, that any of your habitation be destroy, and no man dwell therein and let his bishop let another take. We can loose all of our habitation if we are not careful with the things that we do in the world.

  43. (Judas had bought a field with the money he received for his treachery. Falling headfirst there, his body split open, spilling out all his intestines. The news of his death spread to all the people of Jerusalem, and they gave the place the Aramaic name Akeldama, which means “Field of Blood.”)
    Acts 1:18‭-‬19 NLT

Just heard this in the morning. Sin will always take you back lower than you were and eventually to death. We need to continue to pray for our nation that there be a hunger and revival back in it.

  44. “And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:7‬ ‭KJV

Wait on the Lord. Waiting may be difficult, it may get uncomfortable, it even may get boring and make no sense, but still wait. When we wait we have prime opportunity to really commune with God. This one on one time will foster growth and maturity as well as strength in our relationship with Him.

I thank God for teaching me how to wait because I learned so much from just being with Him. I pray as we break our fast we keep in mind all we have learned during this 40 Days of The Fire

  45. 7 He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.
14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.

It’s all Gods plan and on his timing! When you put your life in his hands you allow him to do his will through you. Trust in God and don’t limit him on what he can and will do. When you walk with expectation you don’t wait for something to happen you believe, continually pray, and give thanks in advance for what God will do.

  46. “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be my witnesses, telling people about me everywhere—in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This Scripture means that, When We receive The Holy Spirit We shall have Power, And we shall be witnesses and Testify this Beautiful God Given Gift.

  47. “They all came together regularly to pray. The women joined them too. So did Jesus’ mother Mary and his brothers.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:14‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

There’s noting like coming together in prayer. There’s something very powerful when we gather together in one place. When we are united in prayer is when things begin to move. The Kingdom begins to come and things change.
“Spend a lot of time in prayer. Always be watchful and thankful. Pray for us too. Pray that God will open a door for our message. Then we can preach the mystery of Christ. Because I preached it, I am being held by chains. Pray that I will preach it clearly, as I should.”
    ‭‭Colossians‬ ‭4:2-4‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  48. 4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

It has always intrigued me that Jesus has died yet the promise has not been given yet. The price of mans sins has been paid but man had to wait to receive the benefit.

It reminds me of when you deposit a check into the bank that’s larger than the banks willingness to give at the moment the check is deposited. Like my bank will make like 300 available until the next day when all funds are available. But there was a process of waiting in order to receive. 10 days was worth the wait.

The crazy thing is that the moment Jesus died the sins of man kind died with him it just took the process of time for mankind to catch up. Mankind can not handle all that God has at one time. He has to give it to us in the process of time. So there are something we have to wait for but rest asure it will be worth the wait.

  49. These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
Act 1:15  And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)
Act 1:16  Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

The power of unity can do so much. You can see it from both sides in this very hour. There are multiple people unified right this minute cause destruction but there are apostolic unified with something more powerful and that’s with the Holy Ghost. Get with your brother and press into prayer like never before and God will cover us all.

  50. “He said to them, “It is not for you to know the times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority. But you will receive power and ability when the Holy Spirit comes upon you; and you will be My witnesses [to tell people about Me] both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and even to the ends of the earth.””
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:7-8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

It shouldn’t be in our mind to question god. What he has set out for us to do we should do. This is why we should stay prayed & fasted up so we are able to allow the lord to use us. When we aren’t prayed up or fasted up we begin to loose our focus on what god has had us to do and that when we can tend to question him. If we allow the Holy Spirit to move through us there won’t be a need to question him.

  51. “For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Bishoprick—
    investigation, inspection, visitation
that act by which God looks into and searches out the ways, deeds character, of men, in order to adjudge them their lot accordingly, whether joyous or sad
    oversight
overseership, office, charge, the office of an elder
the overseer or presiding officers of a Christian church

“Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:16-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Judas was in a group of ministers. He ministered with them. Then when he took money to betray Jesus it all fell apart. He had a job amp at the ministers, but that bishoprick was taken from him and given to another because he turned in Jesus. We must be careful not to backslide or turn on the Lord. There are other ministers waiting to step in to the place God has put us if we step out of line. We too can lose any bishoprick God has entrusted to us if we backslide it loose sight of the kingdom.

  52. 11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

What a sight that must have been, and what a sight it shall be to see Jesus return. In the blink of an eye, it shows us that the Lord defies time, and distance. It is said that he will come like a thief in the night, he will be quick and if you aren’t ready, you won’t be able to see him. We shall be amazed by him, as if we shouldn’t already be amazed by him. We will worship him and every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall proclaim him. Oh What a wonderful blessed time that shall be. Hallelujahs to the King, I’m honored, and humbled to be your servant, my Lord and Savior, and I praise you most high. Praise Jesus!

  53. Sellouts have their reward

“For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭1:17-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is so dangerous to walk out in the truth once you know it. We’ve seen too many people walk out and be lost. It was literally gut wrenching for Judas after he betrayed Jesus. The same spiritual thing happens when you walk out on the church. As we have been taught and I believe, backsliding doesn’t happen over night . We must hold the truth and our convictions close and guard ourselves from any division that the enemy would try to use against us.

  54. ‘Then they all prayed, “O Lord, you know every heart. Show us which of these men you have chosen ‘ Acts of the Apostles 1:24

It seems that there are many people trying to find a magic trick, or easy way to get some type of happiness. Yet, they don’t want to pay the cost of living for Jesus. He gave His all for us to live for Him, and the rewards of it will always outweigh whatever we could possibly come up on our own.

The scripture tells us that the Lord knows our heart, would He not give us what is best?

Why not give our all to The One who knows our very heart.

  55. 24 And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,
25 That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

They knew that to have any place in ministry that they must begin with prayer. This is a realization some of us need to come to. It’s important that we realize this need. . “And they prayed, . . . take part of this ministry and apostleship. . . “. THEY PRAYED

  56. They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers. Acts 1:14

It was through prayer they could have unity and now it was through prayer that their group could be restored and united. Jesus called us and put us together. We are brothers and sisters united by Christ called to carry out his great commission…..we need to pray, we need Jesus, we need each other to complete that task God gave us to do.

2 Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. 3 Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; Ephesians 4:2-4
