Psalm Chapter 10 – Chronological

Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lordabhorreth.

The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.

10 He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.

11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

13 Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.

14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

15 Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man: seek out his wickedness till thou find none.

16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

  1. Verse 17 CEV “You listen to the longings of those who suffer. You offer them hope, and you pay attention to their cries for help.” Same verse in the AMP “O Lord, You have heard the desire of the humble and oppressed; You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear to hear,”. It is time for “A Song of Confidence in God’s Triumph over Evil” as captioned in the NKJV. Psalm 31:24 AMP says “Be strong and let your hearts take courage, All you who wait for and confidently expect the Lord.” Psalm 27:14 AMP “Wait for and confidently expect the Lord; Be strong and let your heart take courage; Yes, wait for and confidently expect the Lord.”

  2. 7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

Lord hear the cries of the humble!!! This world has lost their humanity, their love, and their empathy. Lord hear the cries of the humble!!!! 2 Chronicles 7: 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Our children are dying and the sad part is that they are dying by the hands of the ones that should love them the most their parents or grandparents!!!! Others disappear into thin air. Enough!!!! Pray for our children EVERYDAY!!!! Cover them in prayer, yours, your neighbors’s, your communities’s, your churches’s children, ALL!!! They ALL need our prayer, love, and protection!!! This world is just too wicked.

David in this psalm began by stating a question toward God- who do you stand so far off? We find this is the type shadow of the church that has been involved with the troubles of life. Not only does God stand off from the world but also to the church. Sometimes God can be grievous toward the church because of our actions. Sometimes we find our selves being judgmental toward those we are trying to witness to. We are judging by outward appearances because of our doubt and unbelief all the whole we complain because we think God is standing off from us. We always want to point fingers to God when we should be pointing the finger at our own actions.

We can straddle the fence and expect God to accept us as lukewarm Christians. I find that we must commit with all our heart, mind, and souls. We have to either live for God or we have to stop playing church. We can love God and love the world. We have stop blaming God because of our own Instabilities and shortcomings. It’s time to stand up or sit down. We have to be willing to face the world and expect some criticism. But in no way should we blame God for our own doings. Live to be a great example for those that need God to make heaven their eternal home. We have come to far to throw in the towel now.

2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear
18 To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress

At the very beginning of this chapter David questions God as if he’s standing by watching all of this wicked stuff happening and hiding from it and please case to listen to the prayers of the people, any hands is Psalms telling and reminding God of his promises that he believes he’s been heard and that God will prepare the heart. It’s as if David started his prayer in his emotions and doubts but I knew by the time he finished that his faith was in God who would judge the situation. This is why David has always appealed to me. He wasn’t afraid to be completely transparent with God, he was very bold in his prayers but he knew God on a very intimate level. That’s why he was a man after God’s own heart. It’s something that we should all aspire to be.

  5. Psalm 10
16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.
17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
The answer for Psalm 10: 1-15 is found in
    Romans 12:14-21
14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.
15 Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep.
16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
17 Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men.
18 If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
19 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
20 Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head.
21 Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

  6. Why do the wicked get away with despising God? They think, “God will never call us to account.”
    Psalms 10:13 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/psa.10.13.NLT

This seems to be the way a lot of people are living their lives today as well. They have forgotten God exists or the idea of answering for their actions seems so far off that it’ll never happen or they’ll always have time to cover it up later.

What so many people in our world today are not realizing is that we’re here! It’s time to get right with God NOW. Everything is spiraling out of control. There’s disease, pestilence, rumors of wars, earthquakes and natural disasters in diverse places…sound familiar?
People were either never taught or have lost all reverence and fear of the Lord. We have to start with us. Is our daily practices supporting our love for God and our deep healthy fear of Him?
I pray the angel of the Lord come to bring the Fear of the Lord into this region and world now in Jesus name!

  7. For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lordabhorreth.

4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

7 His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.

8 He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.

  8. So in Psalm Chapter 10 we are talking about how the wicked dispire can bless the wicked for his pride and then the judgements are always grievous and out of sight then his heart shall not move then his mouth and tongue shall be cursed and fraud then in the villages in one of the secret places I could see his eyes against the poor

  9. “His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and oppression; Under his tongue is trouble and iniquity. He sits in the lurking places of the villages; In the secret places he murders the innocent; His eyes are secretly fixed on the helpless.

He has said in his heart, “God has forgotten; He hides His face; He will never see.””

God sees ,hears and knows all. You can’t hide anything from Him. He knows if you were just going through the motions or if you are sincere.

  10. In Proverbs 28 I quickly seen how the basis for the chapter was on those who do things and are at times foolish enough to feel they are not doing wrong. They are excited by trying to destroy feelings, by gossiping, they seek lies instead of truth, they hold no regard for sacred things, no reverence. But I also seen that it goes beyond that, we could be careful to not fall into these places ourselves since there is a definitive death that is spoken of. A death of beliefs, of depths for truth, death of spiritual connection with God. For myself this says God will determine and has set how to address a lot of particular actions and has given the chance for us and others to recognize and stop. It also shows me that HIS vengeance will at times be by people’s own choices and actions.

  11. Thank you Jesus for today, our father which art in heaven hollowed be thy name, thy kingdom come thy will be done

Break the arms of these wicked, evil people! Go after them until the last one is destroyed. The Lord is king forever and ever! The godless nations will vanish from the land. Lord , you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them. You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them.

  12. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    DECEIVED BY MERCY

2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.
3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lordabhorreth.
4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

11 He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.

The wicked, those who live by and fulfill their own will and agenda at the expense of others as stated here are led by their own pride. Pride is so self centered and agenda driven that it blinds the conscience from reality. This is why people we love will often take advantage of us, they have been convinced that their life and happiness is all that matters.

A person can identify with deception when they say in their heart; GOD doesn’t see this or GOD will not judge me for this, there is nothing wrong with this. This is deception. Deception means: Blinded in part; it looks real, but it is not TRUTH.

Why then the delay of judgement?

The Mercy of GOD is extended to all in hopes of repentance. I am eternally thankful that JESUS didn’t judge me while my life was that of the wicked. Lets purpose to warn others today of the pending judgment for wickedness.

  13. 1O LORD, why do you stand so far away? Why do you hide when I am in trouble?

Many ask these questions on why God seems so far away. It could be, that we have strayed away from prayer, reading/studying the Word, or worshipping God. We can’t expect God to hear us, if we don’t do our part to connect to him. If you ignore God, he will ignore you.

  14. Psalms 10
“Jehovah, thou hast heard the desire of the meek: Thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear;”

Bow down thine ear Lord Hear us we pray …..

  15. How can one say God is far away when he is in your heart? God is an all seeing all knowing God. He knows how many hairs are on our head. We are taught to fear him and respect him. He lets us live but teaches us the right way to live. Wouldnt it be great if all earthly fathers lived as Jesus lived. So many people know how to live right but choose other ways. Then that shortchanges the ones that dont know and could be saved by that nondoer of the word. Then the cycle begins. Live Jesus, give Jesus

  16. 1 Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

Oft times we feel like we are walking alone that God has left us. It is then that we must encourage ourselves in the Lord. We must allow the WORD work in us repeating those precious promises. God doesn’t leave us, but sometimes He allows us to feel this way to prove our strength in Him and to have a testimony to be able to help others .

  17. Ps.10:4 [ amp] The wicked one in the pride of his countenance will not seek, inquire for,and yearn for God; all his thoughts are that there is no God [ so He never punishes].
What are people thinking we are going to be judged ! It’s time for repentance and be baptize in Jesus name. It’s all in the Bible!
Help all Lord in Jesus name.

  18. 1 “Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?”
‭‭2 “The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.”
‭‭3 “For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth.”
‭‭4 “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.”
‭‭5 “His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.”
‭‭6 “He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.”
‭‭7 “His mouth is full of cursing and deceit and fraud: under his tongue is mischief and vanity.”
‭‭8 “He sitteth in the lurking places of the villages: in the secret places doth he murder the innocent: his eyes are privily set against the poor.”
‭‭9 “He lieth in wait secretly as a lion in his den: he lieth in wait to catch the poor: he doth catch the poor, when he draweth him into his net.”
‭‭10 “He croucheth, and humbleth himself, that the poor may fall by his strong ones.”
‭‭11 “He hath said in his heart, God hath forgotten: he hideth his face; he will never see it.”
    ‭‭

This is the way of wicked people They think God is so far away that God is not listening. They think they can do evil to others with no conscious or consequences. But we serve a merciful God that That sees and listen everything and everything is on a due time He will answer.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  19. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.
6 He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

How many people are like this-God is not in their thoughts throughout the entire day. Even with the current world situation, they do not see the red flags going up. I pray God stirs up these proud people and let them see their need of a savior! Some may be ignorant, others may be backslid, but they all need Jesus!

  20. But you see the trouble and grief they cause. You take note of it and punish them. The helpless put their trust in you. You defend the orphans.
    Psalms 10:14 NLT

Good is always watching whether we think so or not. God sees the wounded and broken hearted. He is a just God who will see that His children are taken care of and that’s a promise we can always put our hope and trust in!

  21. The mouth of your adversary will destroy you if you let em. There will always be at least one person that doesn’t like you or doesn’t have anything nice to say about you. Don’t worry about those people especially if you know what they say or do isn’t true. God will take care of them and plus all were here to do is please him. So set your your eyes on him today and focus on Gods will

  22. 4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
Rejecting the Lord’s plan of salvation and Holy living is in effect self worship, thus claiming to rise about God, similar to Lucifer’s act of rebellion.

  23. “The wicked are too proud to seek God. They seem to think that God is dead. Yet they succeed in everything they do. They do not see your punishment awaiting them. They sneer at all their enemies. They think, “Nothing bad will ever happen to us! We will be free of trouble forever!””
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:4-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Many make the mistake of believing because He has been a merciful God and not yet punished them for the sins they have committed; they can continue down that road with no consequences.

“But if ye will not do so, behold, ye have sinned against the Lord: and be sure your sin will find you out.”
    ‭‭Numbers‬ ‭32:23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Don’t be foolish. Repent and turn away from sin while you still can.

  24. Psalms 10:1, “WHY standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?”

It may seem that God is standing far off or hiding right now in this time of trouble and chaos we are living in, BUT HE’s Not. We need to remember: HE is GOD and HE sees all things and knows all things that are going on right now. HE will judge the wicked, and HE will hear the cries of HIS people and will protect and help them.

  25. 4 The wicked are too proud to seek God. They seem to think that God is dead.
    My God’s not dead
    He’s surely alive
    He’s living on the inside
    Roaring like a lion
    God’s not dead
    He’s surely alive
    He’s living on the inside
    Roaring like a lion

11The wicked think, “God isn’t watching us!
He has closed his eyes and won’t even see what we do!”
    God sees and knows all

[16]The lord is king forever and ever!
The godless nations will vanish from the land.
You are the only King forever
Almighty God we lift You higher
You are the only King forever
    Forevermore, You are victorious
With a crown of thorns you became my king forever

[17]lord, you know the hopes of the helpless.
Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.
Through scripture, we can be comforted by knowing that God is faithful, and is always looking over us. He truly cares and is our protector and comforter in times of need.  God is the same yesterday, today, and forever and He promised to never leave you. The Holy Ghost is our comforter.

  26. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
Psalms 10:1 KJV  Why standest thou afar off, O LORD? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?

It seems as if David might have felt our 21st Century pain here as he writes these words. As we face an invisible enemy called Rona, many have asked the Lord why he’s just standing far away during this pandemic. While David did not face the challenge of a virus at this moment, he did face unrighteous men that appeared to get away with injustice. David challenges the Lord at the beginning of this Psalm and reminds him of the wicked taking advantage of the innocent. At the end, David makes intercession and reminds God that he is the righteous Judge that will judge in righteousness.

We too must realize that God is still God regardless of what appears to be going on in the world. We must remind God daily of his promises to us and never give up

  27. “Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them. You will bring justice to the orphans and the oppressed, so mere people can no longer terrify them.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What began with a sense of despair in times of trouble has ended with calm confidence in God’s justice and victory.

  28. 13 Why does the wicked revile the True God? He has decided, “He will not hold me responsible.” Voice

Just because God hasn’t required restitution on someone’s evil actions yet doesn’t mean they have gotten away with it. God sees all, knows all, and will not be mocked. He is in no hurry; He has all the time in the world (literally).

  29. “O LORD, You have heard the desire of the humble and oppressed; You will strengthen their heart, You will incline Your ear to hear,”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:17‬ ‭AMP‬‬

We are God’s people and the Bible has shown us time and time again that He takes care of His own. When we are in doubt, He is our assurance. When our heart is troubled, He gives us rest. I thank God when I call on His name, I know He hears me! I thank God for speaking to our hearts and giving us a Word of encouragement everyday. I pray we continue to humble ourselves before the one true King and allow Him to take control of our lives!

  30.  17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

Let us commit ourselves unto the Lord, He is the only one who can help us in times of trouble, let us humbly trust in his mercy. because His mercy endurance forever and ever.

  31. Psalms 10

David starts out wondering why God has not been helping him in his time of trouble. Then he realizes that God has not forsaken him. Sometimes we pray and our prayers may not be answered immediately, but with patience they were answered. It is in God’s time, not ours when God may answer our prayers. We must continue to fight the fight for good, not evil.

  32. Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

  33. Why standest thou afar off, O Lord ? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble?
    Psalms 10:1 KJV

This is how David started his prayer. He didn’t try and act someone he was not, but rather, he was just real with the Lord. How many times have we not felt like that ourselves? Thinking where is the Lord? Is he hearing my prayers? Does he even care? It seems that he is far. Perhaps it may have been his approach to God that kept God silent. Or maybe the Lord was testing the content of David’s heart. I do not believe that God was offended by the way in which this prayers started out. Where are you God? The thing is that David, sought the Lord in prayer. He, as times before, went to the one whom he knows has all power to rescue, deliver, change, restore, and or make a way. The one that has the answer. Where are you Lord? The take away is this. There will be times where you will fell as if the Lord is nowhere to be found. There will be trouble in which you cannot wait for the Lord to go ahead and intervene yet wont be able to find him. But his response was that of one whom seeks the Lord. He went to God in prayer. Talked with him and reminded him of the situations and reminded of who His Lord is. So despite a delayed help or answer who is the Lord to you? Is he still the one who defends the orphan? Is he still the one who hears the desire of the humble? Is he still righteous and Lord over all? Think about it. Saul went in despair when he could not hear from God about the battle, and the man of God was gone. So he turned to witchcraft. Yet he had already done so long before becuase of his disobedience.

Yet David, continues to pray, and thus seek the Lord.
We have a promise that He will guide us if we acknowledge him in all our ways, and that if we knock the door shall be opened, ask and we shall receive. So next time you find yourself in this situation where are you Lord? Remember what the word says; that he does not listen to sinners, but him who is a worshiper and does his will, him he hears. So worship him, and remind him of his promises in the word, that if we cry out to him he shall answer and show us great things.

  34. “Arise, O Lord! Punish the wicked, O God! Do not ignore the helpless! Why do the wicked get away with despising God? They think, “God will never call us to account.” But you see the trouble and grief they cause. You take note of it and punish them. The helpless put their trust in you. You defend the orphans.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:12-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/psa.10.12-14.nlt

There are time for everything God have placed you and others in right time so we must wait for the Lord. We the time comes we will be heaven while the wicked will be punished by God.

  35. “The Lord is king forever and ever! The godless nations will vanish from the land. Lord, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:16-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

These Scriptures means that, God will judge the nations to see if their are loyal to Him. And God will avenge the people from their cries and He will give them comfort and rest as Their enemies are under their feet.

  36. 17-18 You, Lord, hear the desire of the afflicted; you encourage them, and you listen to their cry, defending the fatherless and the oppressed, so that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.

We must follow after him and live a life for God. When we live for God his spirit changes us to live and walk different for his kingdom. Don’t let anyone or this world change and defeat you for we already have the victory when we seek after God.

  37. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

The cries of a humble man attracts the ears of God. He come to their aid. Humility is vital in the Kingdom of God. Let us learn to be humble and walk in righteousness.

  38. Jesus My King

16 The Lord is King for ever and ever: the heathen are perished out of his land.

There is only one true king and his name is Jesus. He is the king of kings and the Lord of Lord’s. It is only by his power that all things are possible.

A king that always knows exactly what you need is a good king to follow. The Lord will never lead you astray. He will guide you through every situation and keep you when times get rough.

The Lord will be your strength. The scripture says when I’m weak then am I made strong. We need that strength to fight against the things the enemy throws our way.

  39. 2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

3 For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lordabhorreth.

All these things imagined… The enemy devices are made up of grief, hopelessness, depression, hate, they are all the ugly things in the world. These things are mind sets and can only be conjured up by our enemy. These things tear us down the weaken us and leave us broken and vulnerable. These things are meant to make us easy targets. This just shows how weak the adversary is. He has to weaken us to catch us.

  40. The wicked are too proud to seek God. They seem to think that God is dead. Yet they succeed in everything they do. They do not see your punishment awaiting them. They sneer at all their enemies. They think, “Nothing bad will ever happen to us! We will be free of trouble forever!”
    Psalms 10:4‭-‬6 NLT

We can observe people and be a little jealous because we see them successful and everything goes good for them and they don’t even go to church or serve the Lord. We can wonder why or how come if we serve Him and things don’t go our way. We must remember that the things and riches of this world will stay in this world. We have a much greater goal and that is eternal life.

  41. Psalm 10:1 Why standest afar off, O Lord? Why hidest thou thyself In times of trouble?

v.12 Arise, O Lord; O God, lift up thine hand: forget not the humble.

The present condition the world is in right now May look like the wicked win but there will be punishment for the wicked.

Micah 5:9 Thine hand shall be lifted up upon thine adversaries, and all thine enemies shall be destroyed.
    Victory by God’s power!

We must keep praying as Pastor said we are at war!

  42. “Why standest thou afar off, O Lord? why hidest thou thyself in times of trouble? The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined. For the wicked boasteth of his heart’s desire, and blesseth the covetous, whom the Lord abhorreth. The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:1-4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The presence of God is the joy of his people, but any suspicion of his absence is distracting beyond measure. It is not the trouble, but the hiding of our Father’s face, which cuts us to the quick.
This explains why the psalmist was so troubled by the seeming inactivity of God. He sees the wicked, proud man who not only persecutes the poor and approves other sinners (blesses the greedy), but he also sins against God (renounces the LORD…does not seek God…God is in none of his thoughts).

  43. 17 Lord, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:

God hears each and every one of our cry outs to him, God even hears those who cry out to him that aren’t in the right paths. Even in our lowest points we need to learn how to stay even closer to the Lord for he is the one who brings us peace and comfort, for he is the one who protects us and hears us and most important he is our strength. I pray that we all learn and lean towards the path of the Lord that we have all faith and trust in the Lord. Let us walk in the path of the Lord let us be humble and walk with the Lord.

  44. “Why, Lord, do you stand far off? Why do you hide yourself in times of trouble?”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is a question a lot of us ask when we are talking and don’t get a response. What we don’t realize is that he is always there. He sees all and knows all. A lot do the times he is just waiting to see where our faith lies and what we are going to do. In our times of trouble will we run away or will we run to the trouble knowing that he is there with us. In his silence just know he is working. In the midst of it all he is moving on your behalf but will you trust him.

  45. “In his arrogance the wicked man hunts down the weak, who are caught in the schemes he devises. He boasts about the cravings of his heart; he blesses the greedy and reviles the Lord. In his pride the wicked man does not seek him; in all his thoughts there is no room for God. His ways are always prosperous; your laws are rejected by him; he sneers at all his enemies. He says to himself, “Nothing will ever shake me.” He swears, “No one will ever do me harm.”

He lies in wait near the villages; from ambush he murders the innocent. His eyes watch in secret for his victims;”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:2-6, 8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

You know that one person that is just so exhausting to be around, like it literally drains the life out of you to spend the day with them, you dread the next time you have to be around them, they always have something to say about everything and anything, and always take and never give, they’re always right and never wrong? That person is exactly who I pictured when I read this chapter. And it’s exactly who we should strive NOT to be! Don’t be the person that always speaks death and not life, the person people dread being around because you always have a point to make, or the person who is so arrogant you can’t hear anybody else talk besides yourself no matter how much the people around you are giving you advice. Don’t be THAT person. Everyday we should strive to be the opposite of the character portrayed in this challenger. Never be to arrogant to admit that you’re wrong and you need help. Don’t continually sit there and wait for somebody to fall so you can attack them, but be the quick lending hand to help them up. Don’t be so caught up in yourself that you push God away and polite your heart with the desires of your own instead of his. Because after all, we are all human, we all make mistakes, and we all need God dah in and day out.

  46. 2 The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.

“. . . wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor. . .” meaning a wicked or evil person will persecute/demean the poor with his own pride, vanity, and self-centeredness. We should steer clear of wrong actions and be careful to not talk down the poor. I feel as though the statement “poor” blankets a few different meanings of the word. “Poor” financially, poor in spirit, poorly minded, or even poor in talents. If so, be careful not to tear down/persecute with our words or our actions to any of the “poor”. I do not want to be categorized as wicked.

4 The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.
5 His ways are always grievous; thy judgments are far above out of his sight: as for all his enemies, he puffeth at them.

I will always keep God at the forefront of my thoughts, I will seek after Him daily, and make sure to always keep Him in mind. Always steering my thoughts back to Him. Choose Jesus and always turn towards him.

  47. This whole chapter is a type of the oppression the Democratic Party puts on the minority groups. The give them deals and offer “free” things in exchange for votes. They know that as long as they keep the minority week, it can never grow, it will always remain the minority. Jesus is in the business of setting the poor free. He doesn’t give hand outs, hdd Ed gives hands up. The difference is Jesus teaches how to get out of a bad situation, the others teach how to nearly survive n the bad situation. Jesus always has been and always will be the answer. This world is a liar.

  48. “The wicked in his pride doth persecute the poor: let them be taken in the devices that they have imagined.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It interesting to me about the word choice and order in this verse. There are groups of people claiming pride today. But if we look from the Bible’s point of view it says, “ the wicked in his pride doth persecute.” The groups that are claiming pride persecute others. They speak of intolerance and things being unfair. These groups tend to persecute many because of their pride.

Let’s go back to the Bible and see what else the Bible has to say about pride.
“Therefore pride compasseth them about as a chain; violence covereth them as a garment.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭73:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There are many, many more. I would rather be humble and be with God than proud and be resisted.

  49. “The wicked don’t respect you. In their hearts they say, “God won’t punish us!””
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭CEV‬‬

Sin may be pleasurable for a moment. But just like everything else in life there is a consequence. And the result for living a ‘carefree life’ can and will cost you your spiritual life for eternity. The Bible says that they wages of sin is death…’

“It is a terrible thing to fall into the hands of the living God!”
    ‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭10:31‬ ‭

  50. “The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

He hath said in his heart, I shall not be moved: for I shall never be in adversity.

Wherefore doth the wicked contemn God? he hath said in his heart, Thou wilt not require it.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭10:4, 6, 13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The scales of pride are so tightly knit over the eyes of the wicked they’re blinded. They feel they are untouchable, undefeatable and unaccountable.

  51. 14 Thou hast seen it; for thou beholdest mischief and spite, to requite it with thy hand: the poor committeth himself unto thee; thou art the helper of the fatherless.

Lucy will always try to tear you down with lies and tribulation. God brings blessings and he is always with you no matter what the situation is he will never leave us nor for sake us.

  52. Psalm 10:15-18
Break thou the arm of the wicked and the evil man:
seek out his wickedness till thou find none.
The LORD is King for ever and ever:
the heathen are perished out of his land.
LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble:
thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
To judge the fatherless and the oppressed,
that the man of the earth may no more oppress.

    James 4:6
But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

    James 4:10
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you.

    Some humble character traits:
    —They are silent
    —Possess Self-control
    —They are a true leader
    —They serve others willingly
    —They heed correction
    —They are gentle
    —They strive for greatness
—God is the Head of their life

Humility frees us from pride and arrogance, they cannot dwell in the same house in harmony. My grandmother always quoted this acronym when I growing up: J—O—Y
    J— Jesus
    O—Others
    Y—Yourself

    We should serve first: Jesus
    Second: Others
    Last: Yourself

I would be a gatekeeper in God’s house than to be a King lost and headed for Hell.

Better is one day in His Courts
Better is one day in His House
Better is one day in His Courts
    Than thousand elsewhere
