Psalm Chapter 15 – Chronological

Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

  1. Verse 2 MSG “Walk straight, act right, tell the truth.” Simple enough; yet, so many walk off the path, act any which way and can’t tell the truth to save themselves. Same verse in the AMP “He who walks with integrity and strength of character, and works righteousness, And speaks and holds truth in his heart.” The question is posed in verse 1 AMP “O Lord, who may lodge [as a guest] in Your tent? Who may dwell [continually] on Your holy hill?” If we want to dwell with the Lord, then we must remember 1 Corinthians 9:24 AMP “]Do you not know that in a race all the runners run [their very best to win], but only one receives the prize? Run [your race] in such a way that you may seize the prize and make it yours!” 2 Timothy 1:7 AMP tells us “For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].” 1 Corinthians 16:13-14 AMP says “Be on guard; stand firm in your faith [in God, respecting His precepts and keeping your doctrine sound]. Act like [mature] men and be courageous; be strong. Let everything you do be done in love [motivated and inspired by God’s love for us].” Remember we have to LIVE-GIVE JESUS…that is walk straight, act right, tell the truth!!

  2. Psalm 15

1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

  3. Ps 15: 4 [ amp] In whose eyes a vile person is despised, But he who honors those who fear the Lord ( who revere and worship Him); and does not change.
[ 5] He who] does not put out his money for interest [ to one his own people] and whi will not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things shall never be moved.
Nobody said it was going to easy for us!
Pick up the cross and walk with Jesus , It sure wasn’t easy for Jesus.
    Walk right!
    Talk right!
    Act right!
    Speck right!
    Don’t hurt anyone!
    Love them.
Isaiah 1 :18 [ amp] If you are willing and obedient,
You shall eat the good of the land.
Lord I pray today complete healing in the name of Jesus !

  4. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

The chapter goes on to answer the question. It doesn’t take a whole lot, just desire and dedication. If we truly love the Lord and desire to be with Him, many of these things will become natural and we then have to uphold them everyday in a righteous and holy lifestyle.

  5. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

We’ve all been called to walk uprightly and speak truth and to be righteous. The closer we get to God the more you requires of us. It’s not about whether or not it’s a sin it’s about weather we are being upright or not. Our mission in life should be to become more like Christ every day to abide in his spirit draw closer to him with every opportunity

  6. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
We can see from this Pslam a simplied list of attributes og the righteous. In a way thethis Psalm parallels how to live a Godly life, which is expressed in the New Testament.

  7. We should all as holy ghost filled saints strive to live upright and Godlike so we can enter his temple unafraid and head held high praising and worshipping and showing God how much we love him.

  8. I learned that God was trying to find a new man one that won’t dwell upon upon his neighbor something about the tabernacle that’s what I learned from this chapter

  9. In this chapter the question is ask. “LORD, who may abide in Your tabernacle? Who may dwell in Your holy hill? “
The answer is given. “He who walks uprightly, And works righteousness, And speaks the truth in his heart;”
He who does these things shall never be moved.
We don’t have to search for the answers on how to approached God . He gives them to us we just have to follow them.
    ‭‭

  10. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

Who shall abide in the tabernacle? This was the question the psalmist started out with. Who shall dwell in the holy hill? Those that walk in righteousness, those that walk up rightly, and those that speak the truth in their hearts.

The key here is the truth, this is what makes up walk right and do righteousness in the Lord. For without the truth we are lost in a pool of lies and deceit. The world is full of immorality and evilness, that why Jesus states that I am the way the truth and the life and no man come unto the father except by me. Without truth we are nothing more than an empty vessel not worthy of nothing. But when we put the truth within our hearts we become more than willing vessels, God’s anointing is poured over us and we become an instrument to be used in this world to witness and save those that are lost.

These are the ones the psalmist spoke of in verse 2 of this chapter. Living Jesus to give Jesus is our mission in the day and hour we are living in.

  11. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

Do what is right for the kingdom of God and love your neighbor.

  12. 15:1 Lord, who shall abide in your tabernacle?
Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
    ——
Heart search! Heart search! Heart search!!!!
    I repent
    I seek God
    I accept his forgiveness
I rejoice in The Lord of my salvation…
    🙏

  13. Simple instructions to be followed.
Love the Lord with all your heart
Do unto others as you want them to do unto you.
Love thy neighbor as yourself .
    Use your money wisely
    Speak the truth .
    Bite your tongue

    Message Translation
    Psalms 15
    God, who gets invited
    to dinner at your place?
How do we get on your guest list?
    2 “Walk straight,
    act right,
    tell the truth.
    3-4 “Don’t hurt your friend,
    don’t blame your neighbor;
    despise the despicable.
5 “Keep your word even when it costs you,
    make an honest living,
    never take a bribe.
    “You’ll never get
    blacklisted
    if you live like this.”

  14. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

So much is going on in the world right now. Being tactful and speaking the TRUTH of God’s Word may not get you many “likes” on social media, but as ambassadors of Christ and Levites to be a royal priesthood it is our duty to speak Light into the darkness. Lead people back to the foundational Truth that all of existence is paved with. In Jesus name I speak a holy boldness over us to speak God’s Word, to speak Life I to situations!

  15. Oh, how important it is to be righteous and stay that way!!! To keep our tongue under submission and be kind to our neighbors!!!! We must exercise LOVE!!! Give Jesus at all times. We must keep trying no matter what. We know that we are all sinners saved by grace, so it is important to die daily, and if your anything like me maybe hourly; but killing the old man to be reborn in Jesus so we can give a hand to our neighbor. No wonder JESUS said Mark 12:30 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
You wouldn’t speak evil about yourself, nor do evil to yourself so why do it to your neighbor. Father help us be a beacon of your love in our community so they may see Jesus through our actions, and help us bring them closer to you Jesus!!! In Jesus Name Amen 🙏🏻

  16. MSG – 15 God, who gets invited
    to dinner at your place?
How do we get on your guest list?
    2 “Walk straight,
    act right,
    tell the truth.
    3-4 “Don’t hurt your friend,
    don’t blame your neighbor;
    despise the despicable.
5 “Keep your word even when it costs you,
    make an honest living,
    never take a bribe.
    “You’ll never get
    blacklisted
    if you live like this.”

It cannot get much plainer than this version of this chapter. Sometimes we complicate things, but if we would actually take this to heart, and ensure that we are doing these things daily, to the best of our ability, we will find the challenges of life will fall into place because we live by God’s law in every aspect of our life.

  17. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour

Every day we must start with Jesus, purposely renewing our minds with the word and prayer, so we can strive to be like him throughout the entire day. It’s our speech and our actions that get us off the path so quickly. Driving on the highways today is an opportunity to have the mind of Christ so we don’t allow crazy drivers to get us irritated. 😉 We must war against this flesh daily (Roman’s 7:18-25). Praise God for the Holy Ghost and truth which is our help and strength and is our hope! Nothing can separate us from the love of God! Live Jesus

  18. Psalms 15:1-2
    1) LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
    2) He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh truth in his heart.

It’s about our WALK, it’s about our WORK, and it’s about our WORDS!
WALK Uprightly. WORK righteousness. SPEAK Truth.

  19. 1 “Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?”
‭‭2 “He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.”
    ‭‭
Thank you Lord for your mercy That endures forever.
Every soul every minute every heart Desires for a relationship with you and desires to make it to heaven I don’t care how evil and how good you are everybody Desires for that please Of refuge.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  20. 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

Those of us who truly know the Lord – before we were saved, this may not have been our practice. We likely did NOT speek truth in our heart – because we didn’t have any truth IN our heart to speak. And this is why David can marvel at the blameless character of one who knows God. All of a sudden we have truth in our heart when you come to truly know God. And then that’s just what we speak – truth!

  21. We must try to be a Light for those in darkness. “The Light shines on in the darkness, for the darkness has never overpowered it (put it out or absorbed it or appropriated it)”. John 1:5
The way of the world is not God’s way. “Fear of man will prove to be a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD is kept safe.” Proverbs 29:25
Trust in our Lord Jesus and follow His ways with a righteous heart.

  22. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    MOVING IN WITH GOD

1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

That has an enticing and inviting sound to it. MOVING IN WITH GOD. Living with the most powerful and resourceful deity ever. Never lacking for nor fearing anything. Respected, blessed and protected are the benefits.

The 2 words in verse 1 “abide” and “dwell” both refer to taking up residence. The word “abide” suggests to be invited or an invitation. The word “dwell” suggests to live in. Therefore the psalmist seems to ask:

Lord, how do I get invited to live in your house?

The LORD anwers the question with the rest of the chapter.

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

    – Be honest, do the right thing and tell the TRUTH.

3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

    – Dont speak evil or bad of others, don’t take advantage of others, and don’t fight and hold grudges with others.

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

    – Dont envy the evil but honor those that love and serve the LORD and keep your word even if it ruins you.

5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

    – Be generous and don’t charge interest to those that are poor and never take advantage of the weak.

Then you are MOVING IN WITH GOD TO STAY.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray

    iGo
    iBlessYouInTheNameOfTheLordJESUS

  23. 5Those who lend money without charging interest,
and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent.

We al have lend money out to friends and relatives. Many say they will pay you back. If someone hasn’t paid you back after so many weeks or months, just forget about. Don’t let a grudge keep from going to heaven. Forgive them of your debts and move on.

  24. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart

We live in a world where everyone thinks they are going to heaven. Where everyone think they have a relationship with God regardless of how they act and how they live. But the truth of the matter is the Word of God is very clear. In order to go into the holy hill of God one must be living a virtuous life.

  25. 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

If we choose to live in righteous and walk in it each and every day it will shine from within us for others to see and that’s what god wants from us, we must always be willing to be obedient and willing to put aside carnality and live in righteousness.

  26. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

The question asked, immediately got answered.

When we have questions; we can seek out the answers here in the Word of God.

““Keep on asking, and you will receive what you ask for. Keep on seeking, and you will find. Keep on knocking, and the door will be opened to you.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭7:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  27. “He does not put out his money at interest [to a fellow Israelite], And does not take a bribe against the innocent. He who does these things will never be shaken.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭15:5‬ ‭AMP‬‬

In all that we do we should walk in righteousness, having integrity and honor. At face value, these three steps seem easy but we will be tested in situations in which it would benefit us more to ignore these characteristics. We have to remember it’s His will be Ming done, not ours. Yes, ideally we would want to go through life with little struggle and pain but this should not come at the expense of someone else’s demise or our eternal life.

I thank God that His Word is law. We don’t have to second guess whether our actions glorify Him or not because He will let us know. I pray we continue to exhibit these characteristics!

  28. 5 who lends money to the poor without interest;
who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.
    Whoever does these things
    will never be shaken. NIV

We need to be diligent and have our spirits open for opportunities like these, When God lays something on our hearts we need to listen and obey, sometimes our blessings come after we bless others!

  29. Psalms 15:3
    Those who refuse to gossip
        or harm their neighbors
or speak evil of their friends.

    Exodus 20:16
You must not testify falsely against your neighbor.

  30. 3 “He that slandereth not with his tongue, Nor doeth evil to his friend, Nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbor;”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭15:3‬ ‭ASV‬‬
Our tongue can be a serpent, we have to be careful what we say. When we walk with God, He helps us control/watch what we say.

  31. “Those who despise flagrant sinners, and honor the faithful followers of the Lord, and keep their promises even when it hurts. Those who lend money without charging interest, and who cannot be bribed to lie about the innocent. Such people will stand firm forever.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭15:4-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/psa.15.4-5.nlt

When we are with the Lord we must stay holy and faithful with God and follow him through any hard times we will stand and love God forever for he will live forever.

  32. 2 “Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts.”

I was reminded by the song Clean by Natalie Grant when reading this chapter.

    “There’s nothing too dirty
    That You can’t make worthy
    You wash me in mercy
    I am clean
Washed in the blood of Your sacrifice
Your blood flowed red and made me white
    My dirty rags are purified
    I am clean”

Through Jesus we can live a blameless and righteous life. No other way, then through the washing of Jesus Christ!

1 These 5:23 “Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again.”

  33. 3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. 4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

We are the children of God we have to be careful the way we speak and what we say. We need to speak truth always and speak the word of God. We must walk a righteous path with the Lord focus on only giving our all to him. We need to act like the children of God because even when we think no ones watching us, God will always be there listening and watching.

  34. 5He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Like a tree planted by the rivers of water. We must stand strong. No matter what comes our way, through God we stand. We are mighty through him.

God’s people are not weak people. We are strong. We grow stronger the closer we get to him. God is our rock. The devil can throw his worst at us, but we will stand. Our hope is in the one who made the heavens and the earth.

  35. 5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

Here again we see just how closely money and faith are…

  36. Psalm 15:2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

Upright and righteous life is known by the way someone speaks. As Jesus said in

Oh generation of vipers, how can ye being evil, speak good things ? for of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh 12:34

  37. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? 2. YesHe that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

As ChristianS we all desire to dwell in the presence of God. Yet few will do what it takes to get there and even fewer will do what it takes to stay there. Let us learn to hold His word dear to our hearts that we may abide in His presence continually

  38. 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

It actually takes some action on your part. It just doesn’t happen overnight but you will have to put an effort from your part.

Walking upright, working righteousness, speaking truth. Make these a habit in your heart. I’m pretty sure it will not just come easy all the time, but you have to start and you have to be able to accomplish it.

  39. Psalm 15:1–2

1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

One biblical definition that I found for tabernacle was a “fixed” or “movable” habitation. Not only is our place of Worship but we ourselves are the tabernacle of God. In this uncertain Season that we are in , it is such peace to know that we have a place of refuge from the cares of this life!

  40. “Those who lead blameless lives and do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭15:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

This Scripture means that, those who do Right In Jesus Name and Speaks The Truth with blameless hearts

  41. “He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭15:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In these words of David, we can see the deeper work of Jesus Christ, who commanded us to not only love our neighbor and friend, but also to love our enemies and those who spitefully use us .

“But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:44‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  42. Those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends.
    Psalms 15:3 NLT

The bible says that out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks. When we choose to gossip about anybody or speak evil about them. We are revealing what kind of person we are or better yet, what kind of Christians we are. We have a choice either to use our tongue to destroy others or use it for good and show the love of Christ. We have the opportunity to show His Word and fruits to this world that is in need of Jesus. Let the world see the difference in us.

  43. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

Who? Not only the ones that are called but the ones that respond and accept the calling!!!

  44. Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

4 In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

5 He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

This world has no idea what GOD can do , that is why we have to take a stand And be the example that this world needs . GOD has no limits On what he can do , he can mend a broken heart , he can prosper a blessing .

  45. “He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.”
    Psalms 15:2 KJV

Our daily walketh should be uprightly. Spake the truth for the Lord watches over those who do right, but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.

  46. 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

We gotta walk in integrity in this day and time. Jesus is coming and it’s on his time not ours. We need to be ready for his coming at any moment. Seek his kingdom and his righteousness

  47. 2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
If we walk in the way of the Lord, His grace shall always be sufficient for us. Live a holy life.

  48. I love the simplicity of this chapter in the message version

““Don’t hurt your friend, don’t blame your neighbor; despise the despicable. GOD, who gets invited to dinner at your place? How do we get on your guest list? “Walk straight, act right, tell the truth.

“Keep your word even when it costs you, make an honest living, never take a bribe. “You’ll never get blacklisted if you live like this.””

Living for God is simple if we let it be.

  49. This is the time when you say you will not move. To keep your word at all costs. To not owe another man money. To keep the innocent that way. These are the times not to move. In moving is found compromise. In moving is found disappointment. In moving is when you hurt others.

  50. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

We should come into his house with Thanksgiving, we should strive to be righteous, walk straight and into his path, and have a truthful and clean heart before entering into His sanctuary, His home, His tabernacle.

3 He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

Evil has no place in the house of the Lord, unless it is being reformed or turned around. Repent and have a clean heart before entering His house. A leader leads at all times and makes time for daily supplication and repentance. Treat His house as to His wishes!!

  51. “Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent? Who may live on your holy mountain?”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭15:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Are the cruel things we do really worth being told we cannot dwell with God? Obviously not! We should always strive to do what God would want us to do instead of “losing our Jesus” when somebody rubs you wrong or you looks at you the wrong way.

  52. 1 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

2 He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

    Truth begins in the heart.
Before you can be truthful to others, you have to be truthful to yourself.

    Luke 6:45
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
