Psalm Chapter 22 – Chronological

My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.

All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,

He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts.

10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly.

11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

12 Many bulls have compassed me: strong bulls of Bashan have beset me round.

13 They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and a roaring lion.

14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint: my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels.

15 My strength is dried up like a potsherd; and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death.

16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.

17 I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me.

18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.

19 But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.

20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.

21 Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

23 Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

27 All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee.

28 For the kingdom is the Lord‘s: and he is the governor among the nations.

29 All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul.

30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

  4. 25 My praise shall be of thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear him.

David just gets done complaining how the Lord has forsaken him, and how he feels completely alone and how other people mock him for what’s happened to him, but his faith is not deterred. this is a close and personal relationship with God where you can express your feelings of discontent and not lose heart or faith in Him. That is the example of an open and honest relationship with Christ. Being able to express your emotions without giving up your faith. That is what it’s like to be someone after God’s own heart.

  5. 2 Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief.

We all call on God daily in some form or another. We may also do so out of habit, and call his name Jesus. For the unrighteous they do ask, “Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer.” They stay away from God, and expect him to hear their cries. Don’t distance yourself so far from God, that he’ll ignore your voice, and ignore your future generation.

    Hosea 4:6 “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests;
because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.

  6. God is our everything and the more people we can share that with and get them hooked up with Jesus the better off we will be. Live Jesus Give Jesus

  7. 1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
David wrote this and Jesus spoke it. I see a connection and a parallel. The Lord is Holy and He can not look upon sin, which is why Jesus spoke this due to becoming sin for us. Perhaps one reason we may not feel a connection with the Lord may be due to a hidden sin.

  8. 26 The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever.

We must have a right spirit and a clean heart willing to daily seek Him. Jesus You are more than enough and we will daily feast on Your Word, it is like honey to satisfy our souls!

  9. Even though David was overwhelmed and struggling he did not lose faith. He kept communicating with God. He knew God would never leave him nor for sake him. Verses 19-31 apply not only to David’s victory through God but also Christ victory through God.

  10. “All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. For the kingdom is the Lord’s: and he is the governor among the nations. All they that be fat upon earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep alive his own soul. A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.”

We see that through trials in our lives, we may at times lose hope. We may not feel his presence in our lives. Or peace in our mind. We feel troubled in our hearts. I’ll be honest, I’ve been here. But truthfully we all have been through this season called life! No one has ever been excluded from this. These are difficult times, even now. Yet, the LORD JESUS WILL and ALWAYS extended HIS LOVE, MERCY, and GRACE!

“but He has said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you [My lovingkindness and My mercy are more than enough—always available—regardless of the situation]; for [My] power is being perfected [and is completed and shows itself most effectively] in [your] weakness.” Therefore, I will all the more gladly boast in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ [may completely enfold me and] may dwell in me.”

  12. Psalms 22
As I read this morning I did not realize that David had penned the exact words Jesus cried out on the cross. Is David experiencIng the same feelings Jesus would have on the day He was crucified. We are not told here if this the actual feelings of David or a vision of Jesus Christ . Could it be this is the time that David was experiencing one of the lowest times of his life?
Ridiculed, rejected , hopeless and questioning God why He has left . Jesus asks the same question why have You forsaken me? I think we too often forget that God robe Himself in flesh . He came and lived in this earth as man experiencing everything humanity experiences. What a sacrifice ;what a love .
David goes on in this passage to share with us though he felt completely destroyed God was there all the time ….message translation

f you don’t show up soon,
I’m done for—gored by the bulls,
    meat for the lions.
22-24 Here’s the story I’ll tell my friends when they come to worship,
    and punctuate it with Hallelujahs:
    Shout Hallelujah, you God-worshipers;
    give glory, you sons of Jacob;
adore him, you daughters of Israel.
He has never let you down,
    never looked the other way
when you were being kicked around.
    He has never wandered off to do his own thing;
he has been right there, listening.
25-26 Here in this great gathering for worship
    I have discovered this praise-life.
And I’ll do what I promised right here
    in front of the God-worshipers.
    Down-and-outers sit at God’s table
    and eat their fill.
Everyone on the hunt for God
    is here, praising him.
“Live it up, from head to toe.
    Don’t ever quit!”

We can’t ever quit! Think about God manifested in the flesh He was Jesus Christ He was God He could have quit anytime yet He endured to the end .as man.
He could have called ten thousand angels but He endured the suffering for us…… He is with us and will be to the end ….we must declare that He is more than enough in the midst of each trial and proclaim His goodness ……

  13. 30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.

31 They shall come, and shall declare his righteousness unto a people that shall be born, that he hath done this.

Here we seed that the scripture states that a seed shall serve him, it shall be accounted unto the lord for a generation. I find that this represents each of us and what has been passed down through the generations of us that have lived for God. I can say that living for God is not just for fun, it is a lifestyle that was passed from generation to generation. I am thankful for myself being the first generation of my family to live for God. But in my wife’s side with her family she is third or fourth generation and we have passed it on to our kids. They know how important it is to pray before we eat, pray before we go to bed, and how important it is to be in the house of God. We can make it rather a season or a lifetime living for God. It is a total mindset whether we want the world or want the kingdom of God. We each have to make the choice. But for our kids, it’s up to each of us to train them in the ways of God so when they grow old they will not depart from it. Living Jesus to give Jesus is more than a task it is a privilege.

  14. 9 But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts.
10 I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly.
11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.

This isn’t the first time David had to encourage himself in the Lord. Being a king you are surrounded by servants, your captains as well as friends and family, but that doesn’t mean these people are all believers. It still comes down to our personal walk with God. There are good and bad times and no matter where we are, we still must trust in the only one who can save and deliver. Our hope is in him and we must be ready to give someone this hope we have in Jesus.

  15. 1-10 “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. 16. Psalm 22:30,31 Our children and their children will get in on this as the word is passed along from parent to child. Babies not yet conceived will hear the good news that God does what he says.

God’s wonderful works shall be told from generation to generation.

Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Proverbs 20:11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.

  17. “Snatch me from the lion’s jaws and from the horns of these wild oxen. I will proclaim your name to my brothers and sisters. I will praise you among your assembled people. Praise the Lord, all you who fear him! Honor him, all you descendants of Jacob! Show him reverence, all you descendants of Israel!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭22:21-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬
It is easy to see these words fulfilled in the experience of David; but perfectly completed in Jesus. This was also the resolution that another forsaken one – Job – fought so hard for. Even without an immediate deliverance from difficulty, there is immense comfort in knowing that God is there and that He is not silent in the midst of our crisis.

  18. Pity to Praise

The first part of this chapter the writer is recounting things that discouraged him, brought him low, made him feel like he was all alone, and that God had forsaken him.

Yet beneath the load of all that, he is able to muster up praise and the psalm ends with a triumph that God is there and will see him through victoriously.

Many times we view things through glasses of defeat, however, if we can remember as dark as our night might be sometimes, if we can always push our way through to praise, we will see the situation from a different point of view.

At times we may have to recount what God has already done for us in order to see what He is doing now.

Lamentation 3:20 My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me.
21 This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
22 It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
24 The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.

    You’ve Been So Faithful
As I look back over my life
I can see how Your love has guided me
    Even though I’ve done wrong
    You never left me alone
    But You forgave me
    And You kept on blessing
This I recall to my mind
    Therefore I have hope
It’s because of Your mercy that we are not consumed
    Because thy compassions fail not,
    They are new every morning
    Great is Thy faithfulness
    Great is Thy faithfulness

You’ve been, Lord You’ve been so faithful
(Even though sometimes I didn’t do what You wanted me to do)
You’ve been, Lord You’ve been so faithful
(Even though sometimes I didn’t say what You wanted me to say)
I can never repay You Lord for what You done for me
How You loosed my shackles and you set me free.
How You made a way out of no way
    Turned my darkness into day
You’ve been my joy in the time of sorrow
    Hope for my tomorrow
Peace in the time of storm
Strength when I’m weak and worn

You’ve been, Lord You’ve been so faithful
(Even though sometimes I didn’t do what You wanted me to do)
You’ve been, Lord You’ve been so faithful
(Even though sometimes I didn’t say what You wanted me to say)

  19. 1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.
5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.

We might be in anguish and desperately in need of God’s response to our trial. That in His silence we might feel abandoned. But we must always remember who our God is! The wonders and miracles He only can do. We must never stop praying and trusting God. He does hear our cries and prayers. In silence is where we grow and become what God wants is to become. He is with us, never stop your praise and worship to God.

  20. v 5 ” They cried to you, and were delivered ”

Our deliverance begins with a cry. The prayer of crying out brings God to our side. Submitting to His will and allowing God to freely work with us. God will step in and heal us and set a motion to set us free.
    From defeat to Victory!

  21. LIVE – GIVE JESUSS
    MY OFFERING OF PRAISE

3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

This is why our first response to a negative situation should be an offering of Praise to the LORD. Because GOD is Holy, separated and above us, HE is posoitioned to rule and exercise authority over our lives and situations.

Notice the thoughts of David through his words in verse 1.
1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

David felt alone, isolated and ostracized from GOD. He identified his condition or situation. Then we see that huge 3 letter word.

    BUT

The praise of David begins with “Thou are HOLY”. He then identifies the position of authority when we PRAISE.

Inhabitest – 3427. yashab, yaw-shab´; properly, to sit down (specifically as judge. in ambush, in quiet); by implication, to dwell, to remain; causatively, to settle, to marry:—(make to) abide(-ing), continue, (cause to, make to) dwell(-ing), ease self, endure, establish, x fail, habitation, haunt, (make to) inhabit(-ant), make to keep (house), lurking, x marry(-ing), (bring again to) place, remain, return, seat, set(-tle), (down-)sit(-down, still, -ting down, -ting (place) -uate), take, tarry.

MY OFFERING OF PRAISE not only identifies JESUS as Lord and King in my life. My Praise also establishes JESUS as JUDGE over my life to execute vengeance on my adversaries. We identify with Israel through our New Birth, Born Again, John 3:5, Acts 2:38 experience.

Lets purpose to use the weapons that JESUS has afforded us of Praise, Prayer and the Word of GOD to identify JESUS as LORD.

  22. Psalms 22:1-2, 11, 19, & 24-25
    1) MY God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
    2) O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

    11) Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
    19) But be not thou far from me, O LORD: O my strength, haste thee to help me.

    24) For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

There are going to be times in our lives when we cry out to God for help, and it may seem like He’s not listening, or He has forsaken us. BUT we just have to keep crying out, praying, trusting, and believing He is listening, and He is there. During this time, we must stand upon His Promises in His Word that says, “… for He hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The LORD is my helper,…” (Heb. 13:5b-6a). Psalms 34:6 says, “This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles.” Psalms 34:15 says, “The eyes of the LORD are upon the righteous, and his ears are open unto their cry.” Psalms 34:17-19 says, “17) The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. 18) The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. 19) Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivereth him out of them all.”

    GOD Is Listening.
    GOD Is There
    GOD Is Our Helper
    GOD Saves Us

  24. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

This is a pretty interesting Psalm for a couple different reasons. The first is the fact the Psalmist feels like the Lord is completely ignoring him. The Psalmist has a relationship with God and this lack of communication from God is not because he forgotten the Psalmist. The interesting part is that the writer does not get mad at God and go on a temper-tamper, but instead continues reminding God of his tender mercies and how God hears his people, ” 4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. 5 They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded.”

This Psalm should really encourage us to keep pressing towards God even when it feels like he is ignoring us.

  25. “They cried out to you and were saved. They trusted in you and were never disgraced.”(‭‭Psalms‬ ‭22:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

Today Gods word is still the same and never has changed.God is a Father of his word for he will never lie. I believe that each individual body in Christ that has shout out his Name in despair he has rescued them. Even when things got harder they have leaned on God and his word and respected him. God will never disrespect those that obey him and his commandments.

  26. Psalms 22:23
Praise the lord, all you who fear him!
Honor him, all you descendants of Jacob! Show him reverence, all you descendants of Israel!
Praise the Lord for he is worthy

The Lord is high above the heavens and His glory above the nations. The Lord is high above the heavens and His glory above the nations. Give God the highest praise. Acknowledging Him always
and all the people say Halle, Halle, Hallelujah
Halle, Halle, Hallelujah Halle, Halle, Hallelujah Hallelujah. If you love to praise the Lord sing yes Yes, oh yes Oh, if the Lord’s been good to you sing yes Yes, oh yes If you love to praise the Lord sing yes Yes, oh yes Oh, if the Lord’s been good to you sing yes Yes, oh yes Hallelujah. Oh praise Him with the sound of the trumpet. Praise Him with the timbrel and dance. Praise Him on the high sounding cymbals. Praise Him with the instruments.

  27. “My God, my god why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of roaring? Psalm 22:1

God has never forsaken me. There are so many times when I have gone through trials and because of God, I knew things would get better. Without God, I honestly don’t know how people survive in this world. We must praise our Lord Jesus for all He does. I thank you Jesus for guidance and your love.

  28. Psalms 22

“I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel. For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭22:22-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

So thankful for today’s blog. It is such consolation knowing that he does not turn back on us when we are in the middle of affection. We can cry to him and he will hear us in the middle of our suffering. The Lord will get all the glory and the honor From this situation.

  29. “My God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Why are you so far away when I groan for help? Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief. Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. Our ancestors trusted in you, and you rescued them.”

Through These dark times we feel far and away from God even though we pray and love God, but remember he is God and he will pull you out for he loves you. Remember his promise, his word, his love, his power. We must not lose hope have faith.

  30. 2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
24 For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard.

When we are in our lowest points we cry out to God and we want to know and hear that he is listening. But sometimes we feel like he’s not there hearing our cry outs, so we question ourselves. But we are the children of God he created us loving each and everyone of us. He is always right next to us in our lowest darkest points or even our highest he never leaves our side. We need to know that God is always with us protecting us and helping us grow no matter what and he will always hear our cry outs to him. For he loves all of us.

  31. But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

Getting ahold of God in your darkest hour. If you just read this psalm you can hear the agony, the desperation, the cry for help. Such illustration of the state of the individual. Pain, solitude, and a desperate cry for help. Foreshadowing the cross, from the first words, “my God, my God why hast thou forsaken me?” These were the exact words of Jesus towards the end when he was about to give up the ghost. Pierced from hands and feet, casting lots upon his vestures. Calvary seemed to be depicted. But here we see a ray of hope, a shining of light.
But thou art holy, o thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. In the midst of it all. A thou art holy. It may have been that David knew that that way to get ahold of God in the darkest times in his life was to worship him. To praise him that God will come and make a habitation. It may have just been that Jesus himself going through that darkest hour was also lifting up a psalm unto the Father. Was calling down God that inhabits the praises of his people.
This is still a psalm and it may be that both David and Jesus both sang in their darkest time. My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me…

  32. ““He trusted and committed himself to the LORD, let Him save him. Let Him rescue him, because He delights in him.””
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭22:8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

People will mock your commitment to living for God. Some won’t understand the importance of submitting to a God they can’t see or touch. Others won’t see the value in doing so. But you have to have your mind made up because this is your own walk. Just like we can’t rely on our parent’s prayers and faith, we can’t rely on others determining what we believe. We have to be the ones to make the choice.

As the psalmist said, I thank God that from my mothers womb You have been my God. I pray we stand strong in Jesus, knowing He has ordered our steps.

  33. 28 For the kingdom is the Lord‘s: and he is the governor among the nations.

God is not only the God and Lord of the Jews, but also of the Gentiles, and of all nations. He is the Lord of Lord’s and King of Kings. There is no other God like our God.

  34. Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief. Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel. Our ancestors trusted in you, and you rescued them. They cried out to you and were saved. They trusted in you and were never disgraced.
    Psalms 22:2‭-‬5 NLT

In our times of desperation and anguish. When we feel like God is not listening and we feel alone. Remember that God works on His own time and even if we feel that He is not answering, He still deserves all the praise and Glory.

  35. Every day I call to you, my God, but you do not answer. Every night I lift my voice, but I find no relief. Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭22:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Even when can’t see you nor hear you Lord your still working. So when all seem wrong I will be reminded that you are Holy and Worthy to be praise and you never stop working.

  36. 1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

Wow, this starts with the same thing that Jesus is quoted saying on the cross. Could it be that he was saying the 22nd psalm?

  37. 1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent

When GOD does not answer our prayers it does not mean that he has not heard us .

  38. 3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

When I don’t feel HIS presence or when I can’t hear HIM, I begin to sing and worship HIM!!! I think on all. HIS goodness !!! HE NEVER FAILS!!!

  39. 1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?
2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.
3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

It would be a terrible place to be in to wonder where God is and wonder why He isn’t answering your prayers. We all had our moments. As reading this passage it makes you think to a time in your life when you thought to yourself, where is God and does He hear my cry??

11 Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help.
19 But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me.
21 Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.
22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

Never stop reaching out to Him in those moments of feeling lost and unsure. Those times of wondering where God is. Never stop crying out and praying that He always protects and takes care of you in times of need! Always exalt His name and lift Him up and then you will come out victorious.

  40. 8 He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.

We can say we trust God all day, but it’s not until we act like we trust God that He will deliver us.

It is sad to think we would trust ups or fed ex more then our Heavenly Father to deliver something. I’m sure we all have first hand issues with a delivery service with a package, yet we continue to trust and believe in them time and time again.

Yet when it comes to trusting God, it seems absurd. Living Jesus reminds us that not our will but His. Don’t stop trusting when the “package” doesn’t deliver when you expected it to. If Jesus is involved it will deliver Right On Time!

  41. 20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog.

21 Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns.

22 I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee.

23 Ye that fear the Lord, praise him; all ye the seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye the seed of Israel.

all we have to do is call upon the Lord and he’s gonna show up
Just give em praise in your time of turmoil and i promise he’s gonna show up theres nothing God can’t take care of. When we give God praise his presence comes down simple enough huh.

  42. 19 But be not thou far from me, O Lord : O my strength, haste thee to help me.

I’m so thankful that God is never far from us. When we need strength or help, we only have to call His name and He is instantly right there with us.

  43. This scripture foreshadows the torture that Christ endures on the cross for our salvation.
When He hung from the cross and cried out those words it brought to mind to every Hebrew that was listening this psalm that was sung, therefore confirming the prophesy of Him being the Messiah.

  44. 1 My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring?

2 O my God, I cry in the day time, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent.

3 But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.

4 Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them.

In one chapter we see a lot of internal baggage is poured out for all to see. Sometimes it’s ok not to be ok. It’s ok to be vulnerable before God and pour out the ugly at His feet. Feeling can’t always stay inside never to be dealt with, pour them out. When you read this one chapter we find a insecure and depressed man. It’s not until we read this chapter and the next one together that we gain understand of what to do after we pour out the ugly.

Pour out ugly and fill it with praise, worship, and the truth of who a God is… our Good Shepard!
