Psalm Chapter 47 – Chronological

O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.

He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

God is gone up with a shout, the Lordwith the sound of a trumpet.

Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.

  1. Verse 1 AMP “O clap your hands, all you people; Shout to God with the voice of triumph and songs of joy.” Of course this verse reminded me of the song that we sing that says:

Shout with a voice of triumph
Shout with a voice of praise
Shout with a voice of triumph
Shout with a voice of praise
Shout unto God for the victory, hey, hey
(give the Lord a shout of praise) hey

Triumphant in battle, we are victorious
God is most high over all the earth
    Jesus has conquered, Satan’s defeated
The enemy is under my feet, so I will…
    Shout for the victory
Shout if you’ve been set free
    Shout

To think that a small shepherd boy came into a relationship like he had with God Almighty . I am amazed each time I have been reading the Psalms . I’ve read them multiple times before but to truly absorb each Psalms to really meditate upon each verse . From a sheep herder to a giant slayer. To becoming a King of Israel even in the ups and downs of David’s life his relationship with God becomes so intimate and the depth of God’s Deity so beautifully written.

    “Who Is Like The Lord”
You’re seated on the throne of mercy
Your glory shining bright for all to see
Oh God I will praise You

    Magnificent with grace unending
You rescue us with love that never fails
Oh God I will praise You

Who is like the Lord, strong in battle
Who is like the Lord, mighty to save
Who is like the Lord, King forever
    Jesus reigns, Jesus reigns

I know that You are always with me
Your presence goes before and goes behind
Oh God I will praise You

    God is greatly exalted!

  17. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

I don’t have the research just yet, but I know there’s something that shifts in our brains, our minds, and our hearts when we praise. It changes us! It takes pressure, anxiety, fear off of us and we become instruments to Glorify Him! Lord I praise You today! I bless Your Holy Name!!!!

  20. 1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

As the psalmist permed this psalm, immediately he calls upon the people to clap their hand and shout unto God with a voice of triumph. This was a command to show the joy and the satisfaction that one has because of what God has done. Their is a cause and effect for each person because of the goodness and mercy of God. To clap and shout is the effect of the cause. It because of the things God has done for each of us. The continuation of blessings and peace and joy that God has brought to our lives because he loves us.

We have to focus on the truth of Gods word and not allow the world to steal from us what God gave us. We have to live Jesus and be ready to show forth the example that God has called us to be. Nobody wants to follow people that live sour all the time. We have to be happy and express our joy. O clap your hands all he people and shout with a voice of triumph!

  21. 4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

The blessings of submission!!!! All we need to do is submit under His will for our lives and He will choose our inheritance!!!! He will give us the desires of our hearts. Of what He gives us make sure to bless His Kingdom and you will remain in His Blessings and Victory!!!! Give a shout if Triumph !!!!!
Ephesians 1:11-14 – In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will.
Stay in His will for He always have the VICTORY at the end. Thank you Jesus for allowing us to be part of your lineage!!!

  22. 5 God is gone up with a shout, the Lordwith the sound of a trumpet.

God inhabits the praises of his people.Sing praises to the Lord today and feel his presence.

  23. 4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

5 God is gone up with a shout, the Lordwith the sound of a trumpet.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

It felt good to wake up this morning and breathe the breath of the Lord . And knowing that he’s still in control of my life That I’ve been given mercy one more day.

  24. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

This is how we should begin each and every day; with a praise on our lips!

Lord, help me to be more purposeful in praising You FIRST!

  25. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus

1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

Some folks say all that yelling isn’t necessary in Church…Well, the Word tells us to clap our hands “all ye people” and shout unto God. Can you imagine if someone would have stopped King David as he was singing this Psalm and said, “Whoa King David, stop this real quick, everyone quiet for a minute, please off the keyboard, and stop playing the drums and everyone please stop shouting!” Then can you imagine that lil feller saying, “Hey King David…Is all this necessary?” What do yall think would have happened this this lil feller? I’m thinking he would be standing before the Lord sooner than he might have expected.

Only proud and arrogant folks straight up contradict the commanded Word of God. The Word clearly encourages us to clap and shout unto the Lord with the voice of triumph. People’s opinions outside of the Word of God really don’t matter when it’s all said and done.

  26. AMP – 2 For the Lord Most High is to be feared [and worshiped with awe-inspired reverence and obedience]; He is a great King over all the earth.

Oh that people everywhere would recognize King Jesus and give him the worship, reverence and obedience that He desires from them. Sometimes I imagine what our world would be like if everyone was Apostolic and loved the Lord the way He wanted us to. It would be Heaven on earth!!

This song is my “to learn listen” and I wanted to share it today –

  28. “O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God the voice of triumph.” Psalms 47:1

When you go to a play, a football game or any other form of entertainment, when you enjoy it or your team is winning you may yell enthusiastically. Also clap your hands. Is it too much for people to shout unto the LORD? Is it too much to clap and show your love to GOD? GOD has allowed us to be here on this earth. He has given us everything. Jesus died for us! Can we at least express our love for him in church? I am so thankful for the POFW church where it is not only accepted to praise GOD loudly, it is inspired to do so. Thank you Jesus for everything!

  29. 7For God is the King over all the earth. Praise him with a psalm.

Yes, praise God in any manner. Praise him with loudness, jumping, running, singing, clapping, humming, spinning, but do so with joy, for God will see your praises.

  30. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    SHOUT

1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

Most people know by now that this is one of my favorite scriptures to quote in a LIVE worship service. The Word of GOD is a book of laws, therefore this is a command to the worshipper to reveal the progression of our PRAISE to and WORSHIP of our GOD and Savior JESUS.

We clap our hands as a demonstration of adoration and we lift our voice to SHOUT unto GOD with the voice of triumph. Notice it says with the “Voice of Triumph”. The “voice of” indicates that we may not feel triumphant, we may not be triumphant but we can still shout with the “voice of one who is triumphant”. This is considered a sacrifice of praise.

This action demonstrates a FAITH in the ability and power of GOD to make us triumphant. GO seize today for JESUS and be VICTORIOUS in HIM.

  31. 4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

He shall choose our inheritance for us.
Am inheritance is usually given at the time of death and we have been gifted with a great inheritance. Even as the things of this world will always come and go out inheritance given at Jesus’ death was the one that will never run out or change. The Holy Ghost sustains and is available regardless of our circumstances.

  32. 4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

An inheritance is historically given upon the death of someone so this scripture reminds me of the inheritance that is given by God. It does not run out or ever end it last regardless of whether death, poverty, sickness or happiness.
The inheritance upon Jesus’ death to us was the Holy Ghost and it is accessible at anytime to receive or utilize for all of us. This inheritance cannot be taken away or lost it is further than generations and we always have access directly to it.
I encourage you to hang onto this no matter what point of life you are in. No matter how you are feeling or what you may be struggling with. If you have received the Holy Ghost then it is there to help you get through any circumstance, addiction, conflict or even the most simplest of life problems. It is also there for renewing and encouragement as well as to add to every part of our life.
If you have not yet received the Holy Ghost then it is yours as well to have.

  33. “He subdues the nations before us, putting our enemies beneath our feet.”‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭47:3‬ ‭NLT‬)

The Lord is mighty in power above all he makes away for all his children. God has control over everything around us .(‭‭Psalms‬ ‭110:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬) The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.””
    ‭‭

  34. The Lord is good. No matter what is going on he is in control. He knew about 2020 before we even thought of 2020 so why would we spend time worry about what is going on when we know the God who knows all and has all under control .
    Give him thanks

  35. “He subdues the nations before us, putting our enemies beneath our feet. He chose the Promised Land as our inheritance, the proud possession of Jacob’s descendants, whom he loves. Interlude”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭47:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
.It is a wise prayer, to ask Jesus to choose our inheritance for us. We often get into trouble by wanting to choose our own inheritance.

I also believe that the falling of Jericho was a result of obedience and joy on the seventh day of six times in complete silence So the people shouted when the priests blew with the trumpets: and it came to pass, when the people heard the sound of the trumpet, and the people shouted with a great shout, that the wall fell down flat, so that the people went up into the city, every man straight before him, and they took the city It was more than a war cry but a shout unto the Lord of Hosts. Joshua 6:20

Now more than ever does the the creation of GOD need to know who and why they were created!!! This world need not even mention a certain race !!! GOD CREATED ALL LIVES SO I GUESS WE ALL MATTERED TO HIM. So therefore there should be no division but sadly there is. We have the answer!!! HIS NAME IS JESUS!!!

  53. 2 For the Lord Most High is awesome,
the great King over all the earth.

Amen! Jesus is amazing, awesome, wonderful, above all, powerful, glorious. Sometimes our minds can’t comprehend how big He is. God is so big and to Him literally nothing is impossible! Your valley might seem impossible to pass but bring that valley is a promise, beyond that valley is your victory!! Don’t let the valley keep you away from your promises!!

  54. “Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭47:6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

4 times this scripture says to sing praises! It is so important to Praise the Lord. In everything we do, we should find some way to praise Him. Whether on our job, running errands, or enjoying family, every aspect of our lives should bear witness that we give Him praise.

I thank God that He is the King of kings and Lord of lords. I pray we use the weapon God has given us to use against the enemy and praise His name!

  55. 1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

Israel New-Breed has taken multiple verses such as this one to make songs. I understand that Psalms translates to songs or praises, and it is so beautifully so. This song has always been one of my favorites. I don’t know how David sang t but I’m sure that in it’s time was just as enjoyable and beautiful.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

“Sing praises” – David must have found the importance in singing praises. The books he wrote are literally called “Songs” or “Praises” and then here he writes to “Sing praises” four times in one verse. . . Five times in six verses. There is so much importance in singing praises and inviting in the presence of God. Singing praises breaks the atmosphere and sets the stage for Hod to arrive in our situations and make changes in our lives. This is why we start services with singing praises and inviting in His presence. I do the same in my prayer time every morning, I start with singing praises to Him and then following with my conversation and prayer time with Him. On the way to prayer meetings I do the same, I put on praise songs in the car and sing along to settle my spirit and soul before entering into prayer. Try to do the same and see the difference in your own prayer time.

  56. The terrible one

2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth

This doesn’t sound like much of a complement. But it is true, if you are in the wrong side of God it is going to be terrible. This is why I don’t understand people that are playing around with eternity. This is not time to mess around. It is time to make sure your in the right side.

  57. “He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭47:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He is choosing our inheritance. He is an all knowing father. He chooses better gifts for us than we would get for ourselves. He knows what it is going to take to get us to our expected end and he gives us the things we need to get there.

  58. “He chooses our inheritance for us, The glory and excellence of Jacob whom He loves. Selah.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭47:4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

It’s so awesome to know that God has already chosen our inheritance and that it is far more than we could ever imagine for ourselves!

  59. 1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

Praise requires action! Sing, clap, jump, stomp, dance, the options are endless! Just do something!

  60. Psalm 47

1 O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

2 For the Lord most high is terrible; he is a great King over all the earth.

3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the nations under our feet.

4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom he loved. Selah.

5 God is gone up with a shout, the Lordwith the sound of a trumpet.

6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

8 God reigneth over the heathen: God sitteth upon the throne of his holiness.

9 The princes of the people are gathered together, even the people of the God of Abraham: for the shields of the earth belong unto God: he is greatly exalted.

  61. So in Psalm Chapter 47 verses 1-9 it’s talking about how we should clap our hands upon Jesus then Jesus should have people under our feet then Jesus should choose his inheritance for Selah then Jesus is the sound of a trumpet then sing praises to god so you could sing with understanding then god had Sitten upon his throne then the people of Abraham got shields for the people that belonged to god

  62. 6 Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises unto our King, sing praises.

7 For God is the King of all the earth: sing ye praises with understanding.

Give him the highest praise. Jesus is worthy of all praise and we shouldn’t count him short for all the blessings we receive on a daily. It shouldn’t take you long to find something to be thankful for.
