Psalm Chapter 101 – Chronological

I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.

I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.

Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.

  1. Psalm 101

1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.

5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

  2. Verses 1-4 AMP ” I will sing of [steadfast] lovingkindness and justice; To You, O Lord, I will sing praises. I will behave wisely and follow the way of integrity. When will You come to me? I will walk in my house in integrity and with a blameless heart. I will set no worthless or wicked thing before my eyes. I hate the practice of those who fall away [from the right path]; It will not grasp hold of me. A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will not tolerate evil.” Same verses ERV “I will sing about love and justice. Lord, I will sing to you. I will be careful to live a pure life. I will live in my house with complete honesty. When will you come to me? I will not even look at anything shameful.[a] I hate all wrongdoing. I want no part of it! I will not be involved in anything dishonest. I will have nothing to do with evil.” In one of our Teacher Devotionals this quarter it said: It is easy to become wrapped up in activities and things that take our focus away from God. Temporary distractions pale in importance to the eternal rewards we gain by living for Him. We must make the conscious decision to serve the one true God every single day. Almost every single sentence in these verses start with “I”; it is “I” who must make the decision. I must choose to LIVE-GIVE JESUS!

  3. 1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.

A pledge to live A righteous life.

  4. 2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

Walking up righteously has never been something Christ just prefers us to do and it doesn’t come without being intentional. Each day we must sick guards over ourselves, walls and protection over our minds, we must be purposeful in our daily walk with Christ. It doesn’t happen casually nor is it something Christian’s just do, it is a battle that we fight each day against a flesh, waging a war on the principalities of darkness. A righteous person is someone who walks the faith with intention and purpose.

  5. I will strive to be your child oh God, I will strive to reflect you in all I do. You are my greatest asset. Live Jesus, Give Jesus

  6. 6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

Lord, You called Abraham to be thou perfect. I don’t think perfect is the same to the Lord as it is to us. The word perfect is used more in terms of righteous living and walking closely with Him. Walking in the Spirit and full faith leaning in God through it all.

  7. “I will behave wisely and follow the way of integrity. When will You come to me? I will walk in my house in integrity and with a blameless heart.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭101:2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Integrity- what you do when only God can see you. To some it comes more natural than to others but we all have a choice to make when our integrity is tested. To do what we know is right or to give in. In a perfect world we can say in all choices we will have integrity and never go against our morales but … there is always a but.

This is why it is so important to stay in the Word of God, to pray and talk in tongues daily. We won’t always be tested through integrity when we are physically and spiritually sound but the temptation will also come when we are weak. When we have a relationship with God, in our weakness He will be our strength to make the right decisions.

I thank God He is our defense. I pray we consult a God on our decisions!

  8. 3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

I have heard testimonies of people that have gotten saved and destroyed their clothes, music, books and other items that represented their former lifestyle. Cleaning the house of reminderers and tenptations is a wise practice.

  9. 1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.

2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

The ways of the Lord as scripture states narrow is the way as we walk with the Lord on this path of life. We have many decisions in life to make and they all determine if we are willing to stay focus on the kingdom or if we will be lead by the world. So many times the stress of the world causes us to react out of haste because we may not be able to control the situations and we have the inability to trust God through it all. But if we make up our minds to stay focused on the Lord then he will surely guide us through. I am reminded this morning that with out God I am nothing and it is not an easy task to walk with a perfect heart, but if we acknowledge our down falls and then allow God to cleanse us we can strive with a near to perfect heart. For the love of God is stronger than anything in this world.

I am reminded this morning of this old song:

I’ve had many tears and sorrows,
    I’ve had questions for tomorrow,
there’s been times I didn’t know right from wrong.
    But in every situation,
    God gave me blessed consolation,
that my trials come to only make me strong.
    Through it all,
    through it all,
I’ve learned to trust in Jesus,
I’ve learned to trust in God.
    Through it all,
    through it all,
I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.
I’ve been to lots of places,
I’ve seen a lot of faces,
there’s been times I felt so all alone.
    But in my lonely hours,
    yes, those precious lonely hours,
Jesus lets me know that I was His own
    Through it all,
    through it all,
I’ve learned to trust in Jesus,
I’ve learned to trust in God.
    Through it all,
    through it all,
I’ve learned to depend upon His Word.
I thank God for the mountains,
and I thank Him for the valleys,
I thank Him for the storms He brought me through.
For if I’d never had a problem,
I wouldn’t know God could solve them,
I’d never know what faith in God could do.

  10. Psalms 101
    Message
2 I’m finding my way down the road of right living, but how long before you show up? I’m doing the very best I can, and I’m doing it at home, where it counts.

    Doing It At Home
I believe what we are in our private life when no one else is around is a true gauge of our relationship with God.

We have been in a great pandemic which has caused many to be forced to stay at home. Some have not the privilege to maintain their usual habits due to illness or concerns of health and the well being of their families. How much more do these scriptures take heart that we have been right living even at home. Too many times I’ve heard of situations where men and women have attended and been in some prestigious positions of massive growing churches yet they were an entirely different person at home. Worship truly begins at home. Loving for God and serving Him no matter where life places us.
You can serve the Lord with all your heart . Yes we all pray that we can once again all come together in fellowship at the church for worship . Yet how much stronger will we be and united as we are truly serving God within our home? We are all waiting for God to show up . We have questions of concern but during this time of uncertainty remember He I had showed up . He is within each of us living. Create an atmosphere of worship and true living for God .
Here is the remainder of the scriptures if we abide in Christ He will abide in us and we can truly live for God starting one our homes.

    Message Translation
3 I refuse to take a second look at corrupting people and degrading things. I reject made-in-Canaan gods, stay clear of contamination.

4 The crooked in heart keep their distance; I refuse to shake hands with those who plan evil.

5 I put a gag on the gossip who bad-mouths his neighbor; I can’t stand arrogance.

6 But I have my eye on salt-of-the-earth people – they’re the ones I want working with me; Men and women on the straight and narrow – these are the ones I want at my side.

7 But no one who traffics in lies gets a job with me; I have no patience with liars. I’ve rounded up all the wicked like cattle and herded them right out of the country.

8 I purged God’s city of all who make a business of evil. A prayer of one whose life is falling to pieces, and who lets God know just how bad it is.

Take an inventory of your home .
And in reality our home is our heart . We must truly search our hearts can I say to God make yourself at home on my heart and in my earthly house . I pray so .

  11. In this chapter David made a vow to praise the Lord, behave wisely, abstain from wickedness and to observe the righteous and watch out for the evildoers.

  12. 6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.

For those who think a little white lie is nothing, some even say its better than hurting their feelings. Well, don’t as me if you look fat in that outfit for my answer will be honest, I will try not to be mean but it will be brutally honest. I guess that’s why I don’t have many friends, but the ones I do have I love and treasure them like a gem because they know how I am and they still love me. Thank you Jesus for every single one of my God given friends and for the love that you so freely give us. Take care of them through this crazy time we are living in Jesus Name Amen

  13. 2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

God has given his people so many promises in his word and spoken many promises into our lives individually that it is fitting that we should promise to love righteously in his sight. Today, that means our righteousness is not so much in this flesh, but in receiving the beautiful gift of the Holy Ghost! Now combine this with living, walking and talking right!

  14. 101:2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way
Oh when will tho come to me?
I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.
    ——
    Starts at home. !!!
    Clean heart, clean walk.
    Clean fellowship.

    To youth Lord I pray.
    🙏.
King was determined, and full of boldness to stand up against anything that was contrary to the ways of God.
    🙏

  15. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

Wow, David is setting the standard here for those who would be servants in the kingdom. King David looked for faithful and God fearing servants to serve him. What a great concept. The issue is, elections have consequences. I can imagine if the wrong folks get into office they will fundamentally change our society and even dictate who is hired and what position they get.

  16. Ps.101 : 2 [ amp] I will behave myself wisely and give heed to the blameless way.
O when will walk within my house integrity and with a blameless heart.
    2 Cor. 13 :5 [ amp]
Examine and test and evaluate your own selves to see whether you are holding to your faith and showing the proper fruits of it.
    Test and prove yourselves.
Do you not yourselves realize and know ( thoroughly by an ever – increasing experience] that Jesus Christ is in you unless you are [ counterfeits] disapproved on trial and rejection?
I will strive to do my very best for Jesus that I can.
For the rest of my live.
Thank God for the Holy Ghost

  17. 6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

Our omniscient God is well aware that we are imperfect. Those who know this and seek to serve Him will dwell with Him forever. He is seeking a people willing to walk with Him. It’s a wonderful journey.

  18. 2I will be careful to live a blameless life—when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity
    in my own home.

Is anyone perfect? No. But we can strive for it. Live a righteous life to the best of your ability. Yes, trials, hurts and pain will come along. It’s part of life, and must endure them. Just continue to praise and serve God, and keep faith in God.

  19. We see David’s guidelines for his life found in this chapter. He desires to walk in a perfect manner, following the guidelines given to him from his relationship with the Lord. Keeping his heart and mind perfect, stayed upon God. Keeping his relationships with others in line, staying away from those that slander, gossip, cause division, and one of the most important factors, walking in his home in the same manner that he is outside to others.

Too many christians are one thing in the public eye and one thing in the private eye of their family. The most important person besides myself I can save help to be saved is my family. If I am one thing in public and a total different person in private my integrity as a true christian will be challenged, and I will teach duplicity, hypocrisy and most importantly tear down in their eyes a true relationship with God.

A true relationship with God will cause us to walk with God on a daily basis, be consistent, faithful, true, righteous, holy, set apart in conversation and action, a person after God’s own heart as David was.

  20. “Mine eyes Shall be upon the faithful of the land: that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me. Psalm 101:6

When a person gets saved and was in the worldly
ways, it is so important to remove yourself from those you were sinning with. You must do this so you will not be tempted in your old ways. You can keep strength in your faith walking with those who are serving the Lord. Thank you Jesus Christ for the POFW members!

  21. Psalm 101
Today we are where we should be and that is in Praise and worship,
1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.
2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart. His heart was chasing after Jesus as we should. We are His and He is ours. What joy to understand that thought Praise you Jesus. He is our all in all for the greater has come and Jesus does not dwell in buildings made with hands. He dwells in us the redeemed of the Lord.
The next verses shows what Jesus hates it is a small list here but expanded in the new Continent. He does not like the following verses.
3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.
4 A froward heart shall depart from me: I will not know a wicked person.
5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.
7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight. What will Jesus do?
8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.
6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.
Let seek a second witness for out two or witnesses are things established.
Romans 11:26 And so all Israel will be saved. As the Scriptures say,
“The one who rescues will come from Jerusalem, and he will turn Israel away from ungodliness.
Isaiah 1:26 Then I will give you good judges again and wise counselors like you used to have. Then Jerusalem will again be called the Home of Justice and the Faithful City.”
Isaiah 2:3 People from many nations will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of Jacob’s God.
There he will teach us his ways, and we will walk in his paths.”
For the LORD’s teaching will go out from Zion; his word will go out from Jerusalem. This is the millennial reign.

  22. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    DONT LISTEN TO GOSSIP

5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer.

In this unique and informative Psalm what stuck out to me most was the fact that David was intentional about protecting his heart. The entire week we have been focused on Praise and even this Psalm begins with an appeal to Praise. But notice that we are responsible to protect our heart to be positioned and conditioned to Praise the LORD with our whole heart.

Listenting to slander or negative information about a neighbor, (brother, friend, sister, saint, elder, leader, pastor) will sow the seed of doubt and contention. Thereby tainting or distracting our heart from whole hearted praise.

    Instructions from the GNT version:

I will live a pure life in my house
3 and will never tolerate evil.
    I hate the actions of those who turn away from God;
I will have nothing to do with them.
    4 I will not be dishonest[b]
and will have no dealings with evil.[c]
5 I will get rid of anyone
    who whispers evil things about someone else;
    I will not tolerate anyone
    who is proud and arrogant.
6 I will approve of those who are faithful to God
and will let them live in my palace.
    Those who are completely honest
will be allowed to serve me.
    7 No liar will live in my palace;
no hypocrite will remain in my presence.

It begins at HOME. But the responsibility lies within us to protect ourselves from the influence of those that practice evil. With the purpose and intention to protect my purified praise I DONT LISTEN TO GOSSIP.

    iRepent

  23. Psalms 101
In this Psalm, David is declaring how he intends on regulating his household and to govern his kingdom, so that he might stop wickedness and encourage godliness.

  24. Psalms 101:2,5
[2]I will be careful to live a blameless life—
when will you come to help me? I will lead a life
of integrity in my own home.
[5]I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.

    Living Justly

Jesus loves justice. And justice, by its very nature involves people. Jesus reflected justice in how He lived, how He loved and how He welcomed the stranger, the marginalized, the leper, the widow, the prostitute and the sick. We seek to live this way because ultimately, justice reflects the character of God. We do justice because justice is rooted in the character of God and thus must be reflected in the character of His followers. We need to pursue justice not just because the world is broken, but because we’re broken, too. Pursuing justice and living a just life every day helps us put our own lives in order. Perhaps this is what God intended – that in doing His work serving others, we discover more of His character, and are changed ourselves.

    Prayer:
Lord, forgive me for the times I forsake your mission in the world for my own comfort. Guide me as I put this plan of daily justice into action. Help it not to be a checklist I seek to complete each day, but let it come from an attitude of worship. Give me the endurance, desire and will to allow justice to truly encompass my actions. Help me to be a person who lives justly. Help me to be more like Jesus

  25. Psalm 101:1-2
1 I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.

2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

I am so thankful for God’s daily mercies, where would I be without Him. It’s hard not to let your carnal flesh rise up and bite back at folks that are constantly biting at you in judgment but His word says that judgment belongs only to Him, for by His blood He shed for my sin and imperfection. Sometimes the best thing to do is put your blinders on and keep walking in step with God!

  26. ‘My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip.’
    Psalms 101:8

If a predator had their grasp on your child, you would do anything humanly possible to save “what’s yours”. We can read throughout the bible, that we have dominion. The adversaries goal is to deceive and distract.

    We are called to carefully live a blameless live, a life of integrity in our own homes;
    • Refusing to look at anything vile or vulgar
    • Hate crooked
    • Reject the perverse idea
    • Stay away from evil
    • Don’t tolerate slander
    • SEARCH for Faithful People
    • Free the City of the Lord

If you would do anything humanly possible for you child, imagine how much more you could do with Jesus on your side for His City! Let’s go get Fort Worth!

  27. 3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

If we truly live a righteous and holy life when we encounter the wickedness of this world it will flee from us, whenever we put own our holy armor every single day and walk each step of life we have the assurance of knowing that god is always us and is a shield against the darts of the wicked.

  28. “I will search for faithful people to be my companions. Only those who are above reproach will be allowed to serve me. I will not allow deceivers to serve in my house, and liars will not stay in my presence. My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭101:6-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/psa.101.6-8.nlt

We must be around loving, faithful, and desirable Christian because they will determine on what you become. Love the Lord and find and show people his love.

  29. “I will not tolerate people who slander their neighbors. I will not endure conceit and pride.”(Psalms‬ ‭101:5‬ ‭NLT‬)

The Lord has given us the authority to hate the appearance of evil. “ (1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:22‬ ‭KJV‬‬) Abstain from all appearance of evil.” We must stand firm on the word of the Lord and be bold against the enemy and stand against all things that the world try’s to offer us.

  30. 5 Whoso privily slandereth his neighbour, him will I cut off: him that hath an high look and a proud heart will not I suffer. 6 Mine eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me: he that walketh in a perfect way, he shall serve me.

As the children of the Lord we shall be faithful and truthful and obey what the Lord tell us. We shouldn’t let lies come out our mouths, or follow the wicked and listen to the evil. God has given us many chances to fix our lives and he forgives us each time we fail, we should all stay faithful and love the Lord all the time for he does many things for us and he is the one and only truth.

  31. 7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

God hates sin. There is no sin that’s good sin. All sin is an abomination unto the Lord. In order to walk with God, you must walk away from sin.

Living holy is not impossible. It’s not something that is unattainable. If we want to make it to heaven, we must live a holy life. We cannot allow sin to lead us, but we must be lead by the spirit. We still serve an awesome God.

  32. In this chapter I what I got out of it was that we are the people of God and wicked shall not rule over us! We must stand strong and live for the Lord!

  33. 7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

The Kingdom of God needs servants that will be faithful and not mislead others. Their heart, words, and actions should all align with what God is doing. The moment that their action do not align with their words or their words do not align with their heart they are being deceiving about the Kingdom. Their life is not telling the truthful tale of what God desires.

Let us be cautious about how we represent the King and His kingdom.

  34. I love that you God will only take good people and you destroy the bad people that know that have a bad day that’s all as the same as the devil.

  35. 7 He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight.

8 I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the Lord.

Let us not forget to repent daily and turn away from our wicked ways. We gotta strive to better everyday we wake up but you still might end the day needing to repent. That’s why we repent for the things we knew not were sin. Because you want to do good and want to do right I’m sure God will bless you.

  36. 2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

To be wise is to know how to apply the knowledge you’ve acquired. The bible is full of treasure and ordinances, statues and precepts from the Lord. It teaches you how to live a life that pleases God. This psalm is filled with truth. I will walk with my house with a perfect heart. It shouldn’t scare use to see that word perfect, for the Lord tells us to strive for perfection. Behave yourself wisely, apply all that the Lord says in his word and obey Him. Then you will see that it is not that hard to to walk work a perfect heart.

  37. 2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

We have to always keep ourselves ready for the return of Jesus. I pray he finds me doing his will. I believe if we give this walk all we got, God will give it all He’s got. With that math we can’t afford not to be ready.

  38. 3 I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes: I hate the work of them that turn aside; it shall not cleave to me.

This should be the few simple words we should live by. “. . . no wicked thing before mine eyes: . . “ To vow this everyday would take so many of us farther than our normal routine. This could be taken in many different levels, from small things to obviously much larger incidents. “. . . I hate the work of them that turn aside. . .” We must hate evil and turn away from it, or anyone that rides in the same boat for that reason.

  39. I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home.
    Psalms 101:2 NLT

Living a life of integrity starts at home. Everything you do will always begin when others are not looking cause if you can’t live blameless and integrit life at home you wont live one outside your home.

    WOW…
This is the kind of mentality we need to have.
Hate what is not good in the eyes of God and stay away from it.

  41. I will behave
    I will walk
    I will set
    I will not know
    I will cut off
    I will not suffer
    I will destroy…
    Personal Responsibility!

  42. 2 I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

We may not be perfect as we are, but we can always strive for perfection. Perfection in how we serve; perfection in our walk with God through submission and obedience; and perfection in how we demonstrate a godly lifestyle before others.

  43. Promesa Mas firme no puede existir,si haces bien recives bien so haces bien y te pagan mal DIOS te premiara a ti esperemos la recompensa de el.gracias senor JESUS.

  44. “I will sing of mercy and judgment: unto thee, O Lord, will I sing.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭101:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is gracious. So many times he judges us with mercy and not consequence. We don’t always understand the mercy he gives, but he extends mercy anyway.
