1 Chronicles Chapter 17 – Chronological

Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the Lordremaineth under curtains.

Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee.

And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:

For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.

Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?

Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:

And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.

Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,

10 And since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel. Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies. Furthermore I tell thee that the Lord will build thee an house.

11 And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

12 He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.

13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee:

14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.

15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

16 And David the king came and sat before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

17 And yet this was a small thing in thine eyes, O God; for thou hast also spoken of thy servant’s house for a great while to come, and hast regarded me according to the estate of a man of high degree, O Lord God.

18 What can David speak more to thee for the honour of thy servant? for thou knowest thy servant.

19 O Lord, for thy servant’s sake, and according to thine own heart, hast thou done all this greatness, in making known all these great things.

20 O Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

21 And what one nation in the earth is like thy people Israel, whom God went to redeem to be his own people, to make thee a name of greatness and terribleness, by driving out nations from before thy people whom thou hast redeemed out of Egypt?

22 For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, Lord, becamest their God.

23 Therefore now, Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.

24 Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The Lord of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.

25 For thou, O my God, hast told thy servant that thou wilt build him an house: therefore thy servant hath found in his heart to pray before thee.

26 And now, Lord, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:

27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O Lord, and it shall be blessed for ever.

24 Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The Lord of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.
Amen It has been established for ever. It is also has been established in us cording to Eph 2:13-22 Praise Jesus

  2. 16 And David the king came and sat before the Lord, and said, Who am I, O Lord God, and what is mine house, that thou hast brought me hitherto?

    Who am I?
A question I’ve asked myself many times when I’ve seen God’s hand at work in my life when He could have easily chosen others in the same situation. I don’t know the “Who am I, why me?”, but I’m thankful!

  3. 22 For thy people Israel didst thou make thine own people for ever; and thou, Lord, becamest their God.

God Bless Israel!!!! Thank you Jesus for allowing us to be recipients of your inheritance through Christ Jesus. United with Israel and Blessed by the covenant that you made with them to be your nation. To be YOURS!!!! No one else’s just YOURS!!!! We belong to Him!!! It is such a wonderful feeling to know that we belong to Jesus Christ our Lord. Hallelujah!!! Glory glory!!!

  4. Verses 16-18 MSG “King David went in, took his place before God, and prayed: Who am I, my Master God, and what is my family, that you have brought me to this place in life? But that’s nothing compared to what’s coming, for you’ve also spoken of my family far into the future, given me a glimpse into tomorrow and looked on me, Master God, as a Somebody. What’s left for David to say to this—to your honoring your servant, even though you know me, just as I am? Same verses in the CEV “David went into the tent he had set up for the sacred chest. He sat there and prayed: Lord God, my family and I don’t deserve what you have already done for us, and yet you have promised to do even more for my descendants. You are treating me as if I am a very important person.[a] I am your servant, and you know my thoughts. What else can I say, except that you have honored me?” Bishop Cornwell always says “There Is Room In The House Of God For Everybody”, why??? Because everybody is a somebody and everybody matters….whether you are green, brown, black, white or whatever, you are important to God! Imagine if God gave us a glimpse into our tomorrow, what would you do or what would start doing different??? We must remember that we were called and take a hold of what we were called to do as we read in 1 Timothy 6:12 AMP “Fight the good fight of the faith [in the conflict with evil]; take hold of the eternal life to which you were called, and [for which] you made the good confession [of faith] in the presence of many witnesses.”

  5. 1chronicles 17:26-27 [ amp] And now , Lord, You are God, and have promised this good thing to Your servant.
[27] Therefore may it please You to bless the house ( posterity) of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever, for what you bless, O Lord is blessed forever.
Here this chapter was about the Lord and his promises.
The Lord kept his word and bless David.
We all have a promise and a purpose to fulfilled for the Lord.
To build a solid foundation on solid ground for serving the Lord .
The Be what God made us to be that to be a servant of God kingdom.
What kind of house are you building!
The question is are doing enough for Jesus!
    To God be the glory.

  6. 15 According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.

God instructed King David to build a house of cedar for Him to dwell in, but David did not follow His complete instructions. Even David though David erred, God still passed down the great privilege to King Solomon of building Him a house to dwell in. What a great honor was passed to next generations.

When God requires us to carry out His instructions, He expects us to follow them out exactly as He deligates. Blessings will flow we commit ourselves to His Will.

  7. God needed a house of worship to be built. David did not follow the Lords command. So God got someone else to do it. Many blessings came to the one who built it. Simple things can cause us to be greatly blessed if we obey God

  8. 1 Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in an house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the Lordremaineth under curtains.
2 Then Nathan said unto David, Do all that is in thine heart; for God is with thee.

I love David’s heart and intentions in this. He has a house and he’s taken care of but he’s troubled because he wants something more for God. He understands that God has blessed him with his house and he is more concerned that God does not have his own house. His heart is after the heart of God and it seeks to do what is right to please the Lord, not because it feels good and not because it looks good but because he cares for the things of God. It was his heart not his actions that made him the greatest king of Israel; I believe it is truly why God chose him outside the order of kingship lineages. When you go after God and his heart and when you seek to please the Lord above all things, there is nothing that is impossible

  9. 7 Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel:

8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.

No matter the deed or action of David, God was with him. Even when David was quick in action to do sometimes the wrong thing, he still found the way to bring himself before the grace and mercy of God. David was a man after God’s own heart. He was lifted up among all men of the earth and his name was great. This is the result of learning to seek the face of God through any adversity or tribulations. No matter the size of the army that David faced, he always sought God first. We have to be reminded that as long as the first priority in life is God, our successes will be limitless and ordained by God. We have to release anything that diverts us from the presence of God. This is the only way like David to be great in the kingdom. Seek the face of God through everything that comes against us and we will not be destroyed but we will arise victorious above it all. Live Jesus so that we can give Jesus.

  10. 26 And now, Lord, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:
27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O Lord, and it shall be blessed for ever.

Blessed is the Lord God Almighty! His will and His promises will always come to pass in the right time and season. His ways are higher and greater, and when we recognize this and submit to Him, we have wonderful opportunity to play a part in His glorious Kingdom.

  11. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus

It’s easy to see these prophecies being fulfilled during the life of David as he is king. It’s easy to see these promises being fulfilled during the life of Solomon his son, but can you imagine how hard it was for the Jewish people when they were in captivity to hold on to these prophecies and promises? Can you imagine how difficult it was to believe the Word of God during the Holocaust when the Jews didn’t have this land for nearly 2,000 years. Fast-forward to 2020 and look at the Jewish people now. They are back in the land of Israel and are a strong people. They are once again united under King David. In fact, David’s flag still flies over Israel uniting all people as one. 🇮🇱

  12. Entonces en Este capitulo habla acerca de la confianza y lealtad de David para con DIOS y vice versa y DIOS con el que mando decirle que queria su tabernacle y morar ahi y bendecirlo por siempre gracias senor JESUS.

  13. For you are God, O Lord . And you have promised these good things to your servant. And now, it has pleased you to bless the house of your servant, so that it will continue forever before you. For when you grant a blessing, O Lord , it is an eternal blessing!”
    1 Chronicles 17:26‭-‬27 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/1ch.17.26-27.NLT

I feel the way David was any time something really good happens. Humbled and completely taken back and in awe of His Wonder and what just happened. My God NEVER CEASES to amaze me.

  14. I Chronicles 17
2 Nathan told David, “Whatever is on your heart, go and do it; God is with you.”

3-6 But that night, the word of God came to Nathan, saying, “Go and tell my servant David, This is God’s word on the matter:

Nathan truly had to have his heart completely submitted to God. One moment he tells David to go do what his heart was telling him;then he returns and tells him differently. Nathan had to follow what God was saying. David was a King and could have done as he pleased . Nathan could have felt intimidated that now he had to go back to David and tell him differently. A King and A Prophet . Yet both were submitted to God. Trust comes in here which nit many people today have much of. Two very important men are in this chapter. Both had and could hear from God . In serving and truly being submitted to the Kingdom it means more than just having position and power. It takes a unified heart of truly wanting what God wants and not self. A King and A Prophet , David has made his plans . Nathan said God is with you . Unity and submission showed up when God said no and Nathan returns to David and has to admit it was not what God wanted. Yet as we read on we see the beautiful blessings that came and are coming because again of unity and submission.
God will keep His Promises if we truly seek first the Kingdom and Live Jesus so we can GiveJesus.

  15. 5 For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.

Today God takes up residence in us and we are the temple for his Holy Spirit. I’m thankful that with his new covenant we can have Jesus in our hearts and lives. Yes we still have and still need a sacred place-the church-where he meets us and speaks to us, but we have the extra blessing of his Spirit in us. Combine these 2 together and what a move of God we have today when we come into his presence in his bouse-our church!

  16. 1 Chronicles 17

3 And it came to pass the same night, that the word of God came to Nathan, saying,

4 Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:

5 For I have not dwelt in an house since the day that I brought up Israel unto this day; but have gone from tent to tent, and from one tabernacle to another.

6 Wheresoever I have walked with all Israel, spake I a word to any of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed my people, saying, Why have ye not built me an house of cedars?

  17. 17:2,3 ten Nathan said unto David
Do all that is in rhyme heart, for God is
    With thee.
And it came to pass the same night, that
The word of God came to Nathan saying.
    —-
    Ok, ok..
Yes Nathan was a good man
Yes we knew God was with the king.
But got to be careful on we ( children of God)
Encourage, council each other when it comes to matters….
Nathan just told David to go ahead and do what was in his heart, no worries for the Lord was with him…
Same day at night God came to talked to Nathan..
Yes , it’s in our hearts to help others, yes it’s in our hearts to ask friends for guidance ,
But 👉🏼 GOT TO BE CAREFUL!!!! The love is not a doubt, but is this person coming to Homy God for answers?
    Watch it!!!!

    • Still meditating on what my thought was….
I am not saying prophet Nathan was misguiding him, or that he was bad.
But my first thought was and what I noticed was that after the other talked to David the word of the Lord came to the prophet ( a word for David).
      It’s a thought for myself. A reminder.
Let us make sure we hear from God.

  18. David wanted to give God a gift for all the blessings he had received from God. Except it wasn’t what God wanted. David’s son would build a temple for God. God said He was going to build a house/dynasty from David’s seed that would rule forever.
    You can’t out give God!

  19. “According to all these words, and according to all this vision, so did Nathan speak unto David.”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭17:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s not easy telling someone in authority over you No, especially when it concerns an original idea they’ve had with the best intentions. Nevertheless, Nathan stayed in the will of God and told David what God had spoken.

I thank God for His assurance and faithfulness. For His promise to give us the spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. I pray we apply this scripture to all that we do, knowing God has already worked it out!

  20. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
THE GREATEST REVELATION OF ALL TIME

20 O Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.

When we believe what we hear about JESUS we will receive and adopt this revelation. O Lord JESUS there is NONE like you and there is NONE beside you.

JESUS you are GOD all by yourself.

Speak that everyday. Speak to your mountain, your problem, your weakness, your sin, your sickness, your doubts, your fears. Speak to everything that opposes the will of GOD in your life. Speak to every thing that opposes your worship of GOD in your life. Tell everything that is deceptive, divisive or disheartening that JESUS is GOD all by himself, there is none like HIM and HE is in you therefore GREATER is HE that is me than anything that is in this world.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iGive
    iReap
    iGo
    iBlessYouInTheNameOfTheLordJESUS

  21. “And now, O LORD, You are God, and you have spoken and promised this good thing to Your servant. Therefore may it please You to bless the house (descendants) of Your servant, that it may continue before You forever; for what You bless, O LORD, is blessed forever.””
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭17:26-27‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Hallelujah!!!!! The One and always faithful to HIS word, The LORD Jesus in whom I can only trust. No matter where I am at, or what I am facing He is there. Not only for myself but for my children and from generations to generations. The promises of GOD are for all those He is calling into His Kingdom.

I just want to testify here.

As time goes by my eyes have seen the miracles working in the lives of my family. This Sunday my cousin Sonia will be baptized in the name of Jesus! Praying she receives the Holy Ghost too. But it all starts with one who will testify about the goodness of God. Every time I am visiting, the Lord draws my family to Him. During this pandemic revival is here! His name will be lifted high!!! Keep focused on the LORD.

“For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] “Yes.” So through Him we say our “Amen” to the glory of God.”
    ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭1:20‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    Faithful and True
    Hallelujah 🙌💕

  22. 1 Chronicles 17:4 & 11-14
    4) Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the LORD, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:

    11) And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.
    12) He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.
    13) I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee:
    14) But I wills settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever; and his throne shall be established for evermore.

Now, we can read this chapter today and just accept the fact that God told David that he couldn’t build an house for Him to dwell in, but his seed, his son, that came after him would.
BUT someone out there might be asking, “Why couldn’t David build an house for God to dwell in? Why did it have to be his son?” God has a reason.
This is where Bible Study and digging a little deeper into God’s Word comes in, and we find an answer.
    1 Chronicles 22:7-10
    7) And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God;
    8) But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
    9) Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
    10) He shall build an house for my name: and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

You see, God told David that he couldn’t build an house for Him to dwell in because he was a man of war and shed blood. Solomon would build it because he was a man of rest and peace.

  23. 23 Therefore now, Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.

24 Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The Lord of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.

David still possess a humble attitude – do this God so your name will established in all the earth, or do this so your name is glorified.

Humbles was is hard to come by at times. Everything we say or do should point to God. If we have too many “I”s in our conversation, we need to visit the cross again. Everything should be about God and not about us. What great outreach we would have if ppl talked about God like they do themselves.

  24. “Go and tell David my servant, Thus saith the Lord, Thou shalt not build me an house to dwell in:”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭17:4‬ ‭

“Go and tell my servant David, Thus saith the Lord, Shalt thou build me an house for me to dwell in?”
    ‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭7:5‬

I am might not be able to start a ministry to help the kingdom of God because of my past. but I got confidence in my kids or the kids off my kids kids that they will make a difference on that.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  25. “For you are God, O Lord. And you have promised these good things to your servant. And now, it has pleased you to bless the house of your servant, so that it will continue forever before you. For when you grant a blessing, O Lord, it is an eternal blessing!””
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭17:26-27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The Lord’s blessings are not only here on earth but also eternal blessings.
If we are His servants and serve Him with integrity He will bless us. But we should serve Him without expecting blessings in return, we should serve Him because HE IS GOD, because He deserves all Glory and all Honor.

  26. “Nathan replied to David, “Do whatever you have in mind, for God is with you.””
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭17:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What an assurance to have the Lord with you. To have a Word from the Lord that He is with you. It brings such a peace to the mind knowing you can move forward with God on your side. Thank you Lord for being the Prince of Peace.

  27. 8I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before your eyes. Now I will make your name as famous as anyone who has ever lived on the earth!

God is with you at all times. As you serve God, and others see that you do. Your name will be known, this person served God. People will have no doubt about your commitment to God. In return, they may seek you for guidance, be prepared to give counsel when asked.

  28. 20 “O Lord, there is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!” NLT

I know there have been times in my life when someone has tried to minimize the story of Jesus, or try to impress their version of the story. But none of it can compare to the testimony of our own individual relationships with Jesus Christ!

Regardless of religion or belief, there is NOTHING like Jesus Christ.
Nothing can measure up or equal.

Like the scripture says there is no one like You. We have never even heard of another God like you!

  29. 1 Chronicles 17:20
“O  lord, there is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you!
Lord you are our everything. You are all we need. Thank you Jesus

  30. “Then King David went in and sat before the Lord and prayed, “Who am I, O Lord God, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far? And now, O God, in addition to everything else, you speak of giving your servant a lasting dynasty! You speak as though I were someone very great, O Lord God! “What more can I say to you about the way you have honored me? You know what your servant is really like. For the sake of your servant, O Lord, and according to your will, you have done all these great things and have made them known. “O Lord, there is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you! What other nation on earth is like your people Israel? What other nation, O God, have you redeemed from slavery to be your own people? You made a great name for yourself when you redeemed your people from Egypt. You performed awesome miracles and drove out the nations that stood in their way. You chose Israel to be your very own people forever, and you, O Lord, became their God.”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭17:16-22‬ ‭NLT‬‬
David’s attitude wasn’t “I am so great that even God’s gives me gifts.” His attitude was, “God is so great that He gives even me gifts.” We should receive salvation and every blessing with the same attitude. God’s giving reflects the greatness of the Giver, not the receiver.

  31. ‘O Lord, there is no one like you. We have never even heard of another God like you! ‘ 1Chronicals 17:1

We are so fortunate to have our Lord Jesus Christ. It is so sad that there are so many in this world that do not know him, or care to know Jesus. It is our job to try. to introduce Him to as many as possible. Thank you Jesus for all you do!

  32. 8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.

The Lord will not forsake the saved. Being saved does not mean that we will not have enemies, but we will have victory over our enemies.

  33. 26 And now, Lord, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:

Thr Lord is our God, His name is JESUS, He has promised not to leave us nor forsake us. His promises are true and He is faithful to us. Praise God 🙏

  34. I have been with you wherever you have gone, and I have destroyed all your enemies before your eyes. Now I will make your name as famous as anyone who has ever lived on the earth!
    1 Chronicles 17:8 NLT

When you are a person after God’s own heart and put Him first, there will always be victory and blessings coming your way. He will take care of your enemies and make your name known and remembered. The hunger and passion after God is the key to your victory.

  35. “O Lord, there is none like thee, neither is there any God beside thee, according to all that we have heard with our ears.”
    1 Chronicles 17:20 KJV

The Lord is Great and Mighty in battle. He is the great I AM! The first and the last, Alpha and Omega. Among the gods there is none like unto Lord neither are there any works like unto your works that save me.

  36. “For when you die and join your ancestors, I will raise up one of your descendants, one of your sons, and I will make his kingdom strong. He is the one who will build a house—a temple—for me. And I will secure his throne forever.”

The Lord’s name will be in our family forever the new generation will build a temple for the Lord and lift his name forever and show his family the promises and love of God. We must build a house for the Lord in our family.

  37. 23 Therefore now, Lord, let the thing that thou hast spoken concerning thy servant and concerning his house be established for ever, and do as thou hast said.

When we remain faithful and obedient to God’s commandments. God will bless us and our family. What a promise and peace to know that God will protect our love one’s. So let us continue moving forward and don’t give up!

  38. 26 And now, Lord, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant: 27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O Lord, and it shall be blessed forever.

God has promised each of us that no matter what happens that he will always be beside us, with us forever. God promised to protect us and guide us through his path and protect us from our enemies. The Lord is our one and only he will never fail us, as the children of God we should never fail him, obey his commandments no matter what. O Lord i praise and worship you for there is no one greater and mightier than you! Thank you for all our blessings and miracles.

  39. “He shall build Me a house, and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his Father, and he shall be My son; and I will not take My mercy away from him, as I took it from him who was before you. And I will establish him in My house and in My kingdom forever; and his throne shall be established forever.” ’ ””
    ‭‭I Chronicles‬ ‭17:12-14‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

These Scriptures means that, The Lord will establish His Kingdom to His Servant’s Son and He will be treated just Like How David was Seeking After God’s Heart In The Name Of Jesus.

  40. 13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee:

14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.

Thanks be to God for all his mercies towards us. I know this was a word given to David about his son however God in his loving kindness gives us mercy too. In fact the Word says that his mercies are fresh and new each morning. And it is by the Lords mercy that we are not consumed.

  41. As David sat in his house he was thinking of the Presence of God, of the Ark of The Covenant. I enjoy exploring the narrative of the Bible, when it says key details I always feel that these are to have us search and understand significance of these things. He was in his own house, he called the prophet to him because he felt that why did God not have a house just like he did. So in that moment he was feeling the blessings of God and was thinking how in any human way he could do something above what God had done for him. But that was the key, when Nathan told him to do all that was in his heart, he knew that David was filled with the urgency for God’s Presence and to be pleasing. I feel God was speaking to David in this moment, that he would not have fully understood the desire was to dwell with the people. God wants to lead us and be near us, He wants to dwell in our home and in our being. Building a house for the Ark would have set a single place that it dwelled but God was showing how His Spirit was for everyone even in tents.
I heard someone say that when they pray they have a hard time hearing God over their own voice and while this person meant it in a literal way, I feel that sometimes we try to move God where we want Him. We hear our own voice while God is wanting to be more than we have confined Him to. For the power that has been given to us remains capable of going beyond even what we think is great of God.
    Amen.

  42. 8 And I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.

There’s not. Place that we can go that God will not be there. There’s not an enemy that we could ever have that God cannot take care of. Let us learn to put our trust in Him Nd watch Him love.

  43. 9 Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more; neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning,

    I will PLANT!

From the Hebrew Nata – to establish o other words to Root.

Why this term, because if the plant is not rooted it will wither with time. I will establish them, because a rooted plant will grow and be nourished.

  44. A good Father

26 And now, Lord, thou art God, and hast promised this goodness unto thy servant:

27 Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O Lord, and it shall be blessed for ever.

Good fathers want to bless their children. It pleases a good father to reward his son.

  45. 1Ch 17:24  Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.

Let it be established that Jesus is King. Let it be established that Jesus comes first in your house. Let it be established that Jesus comes first on your job. Let it be established that Jesus comes first in our schools. We may not be able to stand against the world but we can stand for who’s already conquered sin and death. We can stand for what we believe and let the world know what’s established in our personal lives.

  46. 12 He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever.
13 I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee:
14 But I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.

God is our father, and we are His children. He will not take His mercy away from us!! Without His mercy where would you be?? Where would any of us be?? We are His children, something we should all be grateful of. Beyond His mercy it also says that He will, “. . . settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever:”. Not only will He not take away His mercy, but on top of mercy we receive inheritance as well. We serve a Great God!! We serve an awesome God!! There is definitely none like Him!

  47. “Now therefore let it please thee to bless the house of thy servant, that it may be before thee for ever: for thou blessest, O Lord, and it shall be blessed for ever.”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭17:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God does just give something and expect you not to keep it. He wants you to keep and use what he gives you. He wants the kingdom to grow so he gives us the gifts we need to contribute to its growth.
