Psalm Chapter 36 – Chronological

For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.

How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

12 There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.

God’s love for us causes His mercy and faithfulness to us to abound beyond our comprehension. We sometimes have a hard time showing mercy to others so it’s hard for us to imagine Him showing such mercy to us…but I’m so thankful He does!

    Your love, oh Lord
    Reaches to the heavens
    Your faithfulness
    Stretches to the skies
    Your righteousness is
    Like the mighty mountain
    Your justice flows like
    The ocean’s tides

    I will lift my voice
    To worship You, my King
    I will find my strength
In the shadow of Your wings

  2. Verses 5-6 MSG “God’s love is meteoric, his loyalty astronomic, His purpose titanic, his verdicts oceanic. Yet in his largeness nothing gets lost; Not a man, not a mouse, slips through the cracks.” My God is sooo big, sooo strong and sooo mighty as Veggie Tales would say; but, he still knows my name. Isaiah 43:1 AMP says “But now, this is what the Lord, your Creator says, O Jacob, And He who formed you, O Israel, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you [from captivity]; I have called you by name; you are Mine!” John 15:9-11 AMP says “I have loved you just as the Father has loved Me; remain in My love [and do not doubt My love for you]. If you keep My commandments and obey My teaching, you will remain in My love, just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and remain in His love. I have told you these things so that My joy and delight may be in you, and that your joy may be made full and complete and overflowing.”

  3. 1 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

The fool says in his heart there is no God. Something that is always bad for me people who deny the existence of God simply because it requires faith and they don’t see the creation that is before then. They stand on their own “righteousness” and trust In their own understanding despite how large this universe is. I can understand how somebody could be upset with God because of all the wickedness but I cannot understand how people refuse to believe in him. There is something about a person with faith and a higher being then themselves, there is a light that shines through their eyes as they see the world through faith. This world needs that light through us. The believers of Christ and his power, the ones who carry his love through our actions.

  4. 11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

The scripture states that pride comets before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. We have a great opportunity to be in the presence of God and we need to be willing and able to submit ourselves before the throne of grace and mercy. We have to be full of humility and sincerity to receive the glory of God. We have to remove all deceit and sin in our lives to make room for the Holy Ghost. Less of our selves and more of God. We have to be willing to allow God to take control and guide us down the path to a great spiritual destination. We have to remove all limitations before God and submit ourselves completely. This is the only way to be an example to the world and we can not be ashamed of it. We have to be willing to be separate from the wicked and be consumed with righteousness.

  5. Psalms 36
7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

The only thing I truly can say is through more scripture this morning . I take refuge under your wings ……

    Psalms 57
O God, be merciful to me,
    for in you my soul takes refuge;
in nthe shadow of your wings I will take refuge,
till the storms of destruction pass by.
7 for you have been my help,
and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.
4 He will cover you with his pinions,
    and under his hwings you will ifind refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.

  6. Psalm 36

1 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.

3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.

7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

10 O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.

11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

  7. “Your mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds. Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O LORD, You preserve man and beast.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭36:5-6‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

There is nothing or no one greater than our God! What a mighty God we serve.

  8. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    LIVE JESUS

9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

LIFE comes as a fountain from JESUS. A fountain is a continual flow, an endless source, a wellspring of life. Simply understood: More JESUS = More LIFE.

My aspirations for MORE JESUS in my life provoke me to LIVE right or righteous before HIM to be pleasing in HIS sight. To LIVE JESUS or demonstrate JESUS with HIS Light in me will not only show me HIS way, but also show enable, equip and empower me to show others HIS way.

With JESUS as we LIVE JESUS we also GIVE JESUS through the demonstration of our LIFE.

  9. 1 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.

We all have a measure of faith created within in us as children. Actions that transgress the will of the Lord begin with evil influences that slowly erode faith during childhood. The children’s ministry is the bulwark that can bring a wayward adult into saving grace.

  10. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me

Powerful verse of the man of God putting his trust in the Lord. When folks rise up against the man of God, the majority of the time it is done in the spirit of pride. Those who are rising up against our government mostly do it in the spirit of pride. The key to victory is to remain humble and remain under authority.

  11. Being a sinner saved by grace is to me the highest treasure we have offered to us. For me and my life it’s the difference between life and death. No God no life for me. I want for God everyday to keep me under his wing and keep me safe. I cannot do life without Gods direction, his love and his rod of correction. Thank you Jesus for your life to give me life. Live Jesus Give Jesus

  12. AMP – 5 Your lovingkindness and graciousness, O Lord, extend to the skies,
Your faithfulness [reaches] to the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains of God,
Your judgments are like the great deep.
O Lord, You preserve man and beast.
7 How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
The children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
    8 They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house;
And You allow them to drink from the river of Your delights.

There is no reason that a child of God should not be full and running over with the Spirit of God. The Bible says it shall be a well of living water springing up within our soul. God has made this resource available to us, we just have to take the time to drink from that well. The old saying you can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink, goes for people as well.

We get so caught up in our habits of life that we fail to drink freely from the well that will not never run there. There we find our strength, our encouragement, our refreshing, our purpose, our plan, our strategy for the day. Without it we will shrivel up and die, we must have that water to live.

  13. Psalms 36:1, “THE transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, there is no fear of God before his eyes.”

    “Saith Within My Heart”
    “First Impressions”
We know that the Word tells us that “The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom…” (Prov. 9:10a)
But the wicked are foolish, “For the fool hath said in his heart, There is no God… (PS. 14:1a), therefore the wicked do not have to fear Him.
So when David saw the transgressions and sins of the wicked, his “First Impression,” what he said in his heart was that they didn’t fear God, because if they had feared God, they wouldn’t be transgressing and committing sin.

So what is the “First Impressions” that people have of us? What is the first thing that they say in their heart about us? Do they see JESUS or something else?
For those of us who love and fear God, we must live our lives in such a way that the “First Impression,” what people say in their heart about us, is, “JESUS is in their lives. They are a Christian.” And when we LIVE JESUS, then we can GIVE JESUS to others, and people will be saved.

  14. Ps. 35:9 [ amp] For with You is the fountain of life ; in Your light do we see light.
John 4:10 [ amp] Jesus answered her, If you had only known and had recognized God’s gift and Who this is that is saying to you, Give me a drink.
You would have asked Him instead] and He would have given you living water.
[14] But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up ( flowing, bubbling) continually] within him unto ( into, for) eternal life.
    Who report will you Believe?
I will believe the report of the Lord.
    Jesus is the only Way!

  15. Psalms 36:9
For you are the fountain of life,
the light by which we see.

water of Life” (Greek: ὕδωρ ζωῆς hydōr zōēs) is used in the context of living water, specific references appearing in the Book of Revelation (21:6 and 22:1), as well as the Gospel of John. In these references, the term Water of Life refers to the Holy Spirit. Ὕδωρ ζωῆς is a metaphor with two meanings: literally “flowing water” as in a river, and figuratively “living water.” “Whereas ordinary water sustains life for a while “flowing water”, the water God provides gives life forever “living water”

  16. The world right now is chaos everywhere we look. If you just look at the headlines of the news it’s very devastating. Do not lose HOPE!!! God is still with us. 17. 7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.

9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

    Psalm 91:4
4 He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

We are so blessed to have a place to go to get shelter when we need it, God lets us hide under his wings because of his lovingkindness. When everything looks like trouble in todays world, he is the answer. If we dont let him be the answer in our lives we will never have peace. We shall be satisfied with the fatness of his house, where there are pleasures for evermore. Thank you Jesus for being the place we can find refuge.

5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.
7 How excellent is thy loving kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. He is my God and Savior and there is no one like Him. I never know what a day may make for I rejoice in the one that made it.
Psa 9:2 I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High. My heart rejoices as I bow before my king.
6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast. That has been a promise that I have lived with sense I was a child. At 75 I am still in His hand and my love for Jesus has not failed even though I have failed many times. Yet He keeps me in comfort and peace.
7 How excellent is thy loving kindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
    Amen, Amen, Amen.

  20. 5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

  21. “Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts. They have no fear of God at all. In their blind conceit, they cannot see how wicked they really are. Everything they say is crooked and deceitful. They refuse to act wisely or do good. They lie awake at night, hatching sinful plots. Their actions are never good. They make no attempt to turn from evil.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭36:1-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What a sad picture of the wickness of man but within this passage there are a few things that we could glean from. In this passage we see that every memeber of their body was involved.

-Ears and Heart- Sin Whispers/deep within their heart. What we listen to goes straight to the heart. Don’t listen to trash music or talk. Protect your ears and heart
-Eyes- blind conceit. Protect your eyes and ask God to give you clarity.
-Mouth- everything they say is crooked and deceitful. I hear the words of the preached word “there are no white lies” Protect you mouth and speak life.
-Hands and feet- they refuse to act wisely would do good. Protect your hands and feet by being the body of Christ. Act righteous and holy.
-Mind- Lie awake at night, hatching sinful plots. Protect your mind by mediating on the Word. Our minds must be transformed.

Serving the Lord requires total commitment. We must love the Lord our God with all our heart, soul and mind. We must be totally submitted and committed to Him. There is no time for a part-time Christian. It is all or nothing. We’re going UP! We’re going over! We’re going to cross the finishline! I Am Mighty!

  22. n and beast.

Always put your trust in Jesus in all that you do. He will never leave nor for Sake you.

  23. 36:8 they shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house.
And thou shall make them drink of the waters of thy pleasures.’

Because you are excellent and because our trust is in you. In your love and kindness asure us. And make this declaration, that we will be abundantly satisfied
Yes, something nothing can give to us. But you Lord.
Yes, we can get everything we want( cars, houses, gifts, but nothing, absolutely nothing satisfy the soul
    Our soul, But you Lord..

  24. 9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

Many fear to loose their lives. Some feel that if they give their life to God they would he loosing their lives. That can be true to a sense. We loose a worldly life to gain a life in Jesus. He is the way truth and life. It is only in him that we find real life.

  25. “For you are the fountain of life, the light by which we see.”(‭‭Psalms‬ ‭36:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

The Lord alone is our fountain that is a everlasting source of our lives. His voice is mighty that brings healing and deliverance to those that come willing to him. The Lord himself is the light of the world (Psalms‬ ‭119:105‬ ‭NLT‬‬) Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path.” I pray that the minds and hearts of the lost today would allow Jesus to change there ways of living and thinking and allow him to be there light in there darkness today.

    ‭‭

  26. 9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

In Thy light shall we see light. In Him we can truly see, through Him, the light of the world!

  27. 11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

We know that their will be those who reject God no matter the evidence of His mighty works. Instead of beating a dead horse, the psalmist, continues to be an example of Christ Jesus. He knows that the world will hate him for serving God but asks for continued protection. He knows death cannot praise or serve Him. We can take heed from this message that things might not be perfect but they are looking up.

  28. There has always been good and evil in this world. Which way do people go? You either love the LORD with all your heart or don’t. People can live in this world (the short time they have) for themselves or choose the righteous way of our LORD and live in eternity with JESUS. To me it is an easy choice.

“Depend on the Lord in whatever you do, and your plans will succeed.” Proverbs 16:3

Thank you JESUS for this day.

  29. “Your unfailing love, O Lord, is as vast as the heavens; your faithfulness reaches beyond the clouds.”
    Psalms 36:5 NLT

Jesus you are faithful and your love is never ending. We are reminded of His love every day. Lord help us to live Jesus Give Jesus. Help us to live in you righteous path and to give Jesus by sharing your loving kindness to others.

  30. “There are the workers of iniquity fallen: they are cast down, and shall not be able to rise.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭36:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’m looking up! No matter what we may face, the workers of iniquity will not rise because We have a God who fights for us, who is our defense, who is our strength! The Word tells us He will preserve our going out and coming in, so don’t worry about this working against you – God has got us!

I thank God the fight is fixed and we can stand on His Word boldly. I pray we use the authority God has given us and trust in His Word!

  31. 7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

    Psalms 91:4
He shall cover thee with his feathers,
and under his wings shalt thou trust:
his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.

Thank you Lord for the shelter you provide under Your wings, during the time of storms and tribulations!

  32. 5 Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.
7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! Therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

We have a God who will never stop fighting for us, loving us, and protecting us. Our Lord will do anything for us wether we know it or not. We must put our faith in the Lord at all times and be faithful to him and follow his commandments daily. Thank you Lord for giving us life, thank you for loving us no matter what. Thank you for giving us a home and for being by us no matter what.

  33. 6 Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.

“Thou preservest man…” If you’ve ever made preserve you understand that at the you often use ripe fruit and unrip fruit to lake preserve. Each play a different part in how it will turn out. The same is true when it comes to the church. It seasons of hardship He preserves us the new unrip and the ripe. He applies pressure in the process of the preserve that when the fruit is finally use it is full of flavor and enjoyable.

We must learn to allow the pressure run the process of being preserved to not over take us but draw us closer to Him. He’s making us into beautifully flavored vessels of honor. Lord as you preserve me in times of trouble let me be steadfast and allow the process to happen without complaining

  34. 7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

It is a blessed place to receive the mercy, grace and lovingkindness of God, to be under the shadow of his wings in a sheltered place. He has rescued me when I was unable to rescue myself-when it was me who had gotten myself in the mess. We sometimes don’t deserve all he does for us and yet what would we do without him? Again, we are in a blessed place because of his favor upon us as his child! I love the Lord and can’t thank him enough for all he has done for me!

  35. “In their blind conceit, they cannot see how wicked they really are. Everything they say is crooked and deceitful. They refuse to act wisely or do good. They lie awake at night, hatching sinful plots. Their actions are never good. They make no attempt to turn from evil.”

    https://www.bible.com/116/psa.36.2-4.nlt

These past blogs have constantly remind me to be fearful of the Lord and this verse tells how important it is to fear the Lord because if we don’t fear the Lord we will become wicked and sinful we must fear and love the Lord.

  36. Sin whispers to the wicked, deep within their hearts. They have no fear of God at all.
    Psalms 36:1 NLT

Sin will work little by little and before you know it your deep within her grasp. Soon your heart is filled with sin and thats all you really think about. There is something in you that will tell you its wrong but sin has a powerful hold on your life and you can’t get rid of it. Thankfully there is a name that can change and forgive every sin. His blood can wash it all away all you have to do is render yourself to Him and turn from sin. His name is Jesus!

  37. 7 How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
8 They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

    Hmmmm
Reminds me of a well, that never runs dry…

  38. What are you thinking about?

4 He deviseth mischief upon his bed; he setteth himself in a way that is not good; he abhorreth not evil.

    Proverbs‬ ‭23:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he: Eat and drink, saith he to thee; but his heart is not with thee.”
    ‭‭
Every evil deed comes from an evil thought that makes it last the filter of your mind into the processor of your heart and when it slips past the heart of repentance it become an action of sin. We have to prayerfully and diligently watch our minds. What are we thinking about? If we can catch those evil things in the filter of our minds, it is not too late.

    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭26:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.”

A self examination of much easier than when it become as problem and you need a physician to take a look at it. I want to catch these things before they ever get to be a problem.

So I say examine my mind, examine my heart, offend me if need be but don’t let it go too far. We have to make a covenant with our minds just as David made with his eyes, I will not think on evil.

  39. Psalm 36:9 For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.

I Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; That you should show forth appraisers of hands who had called you out of darkness into his marvelous light :light

  40. How priceless is your unfailing love, O God!
People take refuge in the shadow of your wings.

AMEN!!! Him being our father, He welcomes us all with open arms. His unfailing love is indescribable. He doesn’t look at our mistakes but has His arms open wide. I could just imagine if I lost one of my children, I would be so desperate to find them and when I find them all I would want to do is hug them tight. That is what I imagine God doing when backsliders come back to Him. We should receive them the same way that He receives them. Thank you Lord for your unfailing love. Without you I wouldn’t be here and for that I’m grateful!!!!

  41. 11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.

If we allow pride in our life, it will take us to complete destruction. It will separate us from God, the Bible says, that way from Him, we can’t do anything. Don’t allow pride in your life. Stay humble!

  42. “Thy mercy, O Lord, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds. Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O Lord, thou preservest man and beast.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭36:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is so great! He is glorious in all he does. He is forever faithful. His mercy is more than we can truly understand. His righteousness towers over and encompasses our lives. He judges justly because he sees/knows more than we could ever hope to see/know. Oh how great and glorious is our God!

  43. “In their own eyes they flatter themselves too much to detect or hate their sin.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭36:2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

I don’t want to ever think so highly of myself spiritually that I fail to see any of the flaws I may have. We as a church, should never think of ourselves so highly that we begin to point out the flaws of those needing God before first correcting the issues that already lie within us.

  44. Psa 36:6  Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
Psa 36:7  How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.

Coming from the Appalachian mountains I’m reminded how big those mountains are from these scriptures. It amazes me so much more to know Gods righteousness is like the great mountains, and his judgement is like the great deep. We need to apply the second scripture to ourselves though. We need to trust in him and place ourselves under the shadow of thy wings. He’s a protector and a provider, if you let God he’ll show you what he can do for your situation.

  45. 2 In their blind conceit, they cannot see how wicked they really are. 3 Everything they say is crooked and deceitful. They refuse to act wisely or do good.

The unrighteous will say something and be convinced its true. They have no biblical data to support it, but they want to convince others. And they continue to live in the world, supporting worldly things. We have to guard ourselves from individuals who are not righteous.

  46. 1 The transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no fear of God before his eyes.
2 For he flattereth himself in his own eyes, until his iniquity be found to be hateful.
3 The words of his mouth are iniquity and deceit: he hath left off to be wise, and to do good.

All of these state characteristics of the wicked. No fear of God, flattery of one’s own self, his words are iniquity and deceit, iniquity- immorally unfair behavior/deceit- lies, leaving and deciding not to be wise, and deciding not to do any good. This is not a state I would want to be seen as. Yet this sounds so familiar of a society we in. This sounds familiar of recent generations. Not that the generation as a whole is labeled as such, but a vast majority do have these characteristics! Let us pray everyday that we may always fear God and steer clear of the dangers of these immoral behaviors and actions. We as a church must rise up and do better.
