Psalm Chapter 20 – Chronological

The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;

Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;

Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.

Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

  1. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
David is showing us his humility and faithful perspective toward his victories. What we can learn from this is that we need to stay prayed-up if we what to have victory and maintain our level of faith when trouble arises. It seems that if we are to recieve the full benefit of prayers offered by others on our behalf, we need to take the first step and be in a right standing with the Lord

  2. Our God always hears our cries. Even when you think He is not there He is always there. No matter what is your situation all you have to do is cry out to God and Trust Him to put His hands all over it and save you. Do you know you are saved??? Or you still waiting for your salvation. All you have to do is repent, be baptized in Jesus name, and receive the Holy Ghost that God will gifted to you with the ability of speaking on other tongues. Easy 3 steps and Salvation will be yours!!!!!

  4. Verse 6 MSG “That clinches it—help’s coming, an answer’s on the way, everything’s going to work out.” This reminded me of what Bishop Foster said in his message Sunday night, that by the end of 2020, everything is gonna be all right. We have to hold on and remember verse 7 AMP “Some trust in chariots and some in horses,
But we will remember and trust in the name of the Lord our God.” Thank you Jesus for your saving power.

  5. Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

What are you putting your trust in your job, your bank account, your youth.? Who are you calling in times of stress? Who’s at the top of your mind when travel comes? Glock. Hit your thumb with a hammer and will find out who’s in your mind and time of pain, There is a 50-50 chance I can guess.

  6. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

We want to be the anointed; we want God to hear our prayers, but are we doing what it takes to get there? Do we do His will and worship Him as we should? God won’t change the rules for anyone.

    John 9:31
Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.

  7. Psalms 20: 7 [ amp] Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, But we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God.
Don’t trust in the things of this world.
The enemy will try to deceive you from God.
There are wolf’s out here dress in sheep’s clothing! Put all of your trust in Jesus.
Micah 7: 8 [ amp] Rejoice not against me, O my enemy ! When I fall, I shall arise; When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light to me.
Whatever you do [ no matter what it is ] in the word or deed.
Do everything in the name Lord Jesus!
    Be bless in Jesus name.

  8. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

No other name I know or even wish to call on but the name of Jesus!

  9. “May he grant your heart’s desires and make all your plans succeed. May we shout for joy when we hear of your victory and raise a victory banner in the name of our God. May the Lord answer all your prayers.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭20:4-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In my heart there are some desires, I know one day soon God we’ll answer them. I will not give up praying for it, for I know my VICTORY is almost here. When the day come I will not give up on my prayers to God.

  10. Live Jesus Give Jesus. I love to read the blog, it’s such an encouragement! God should be the center of our world and existence. God is so good to us and we should speak to him and of him in our daily jobs and routines.

  11. “I pray that the Lord will listen when you are in trouble, and that the God of Jacob will keep you safe.

Give the king victory, Lord, and answer our prayers.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭20:1, 9‬ ‭CEV

    Hallelujah ❤️

What a beautiful relationship did king David have with God. David’ trusted the LORD since he was a young boy. He didn’t put his trust in people. He knew where and when his help would come from.
We know that first of all prayer is crucial to us all. I believe Victor Jackson said something like this :
‘You measure your success by your devotion and not by your opportunities.’ The key word here is

    Devotion – profound dedication; consecration

    Rebuild your altar. Pray.
    Victory begins on our knees❤️

    “Pray without ceasing.”
    ‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  12. “May the LORD answer you (David) in the day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob set you securely on high [and defend you in battle]!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭20:1‬ ‭AMP‬‬

May the Lord answer you Pastor Watts, in the day of trouble! May Jesus set you securely on high [and defend you in battle!

I thank God for my Pastor, my covering, the shepherd God has placed over POFW. It is so important we keep our Pastor and First Lady uplifted in prayer as they battle some things we couldn’t even imagine.

I pray God grants the desires of their hearts and fulfills their plans.

I pray we as the congregation are praying for their victory in the Lord and seeking to be a help and not a hindrance unto the Lord, His Kingdom, His shepherd, and His people..

  13. Psalm 20

    1 The Lord hear thee in the day of trouble; the name of the God of Jacob defend thee;

    2 Send thee help from the sanctuary, and strengthen thee out of Zion;

3 Remember all thy offerings, and accept thy burnt sacrifice; Selah.

4 Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.

5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

    • So in Psalms Chapter 20 it’s talking about how we shall always give an offering upon the lord and how we shall always send Zion to help at the sanctuary and then we shall grant those in thine heart and in thy counsel then we shall rejoice in Salvation and set up banners and then Jesus saved his strength in his right hand then we shall always remember Jesus name

  14. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

Sometimes I have a hard time with the Psalms verses the historical accounts. But this psalm along with the last two chapters we read I can feel what they were going through. They were probably terrified about the armies they were going up against, BUT GOD!!
God showed His Mighty Hand on the battlefield and gave them a victory that looked bleak. He showed up and showed out!!
Some people trust in their chariots, but we will trust in the LORD.
Self made is deception. What ever kingdom you build with your own hands is temporary!
We won’t trust in those things! We will trust and be led by the LORD!!!❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉

  15. Psalms 20 message
    That clinches it—help’s coming,
    an answer’s on the way,
    everything’s going to work out

    God is faithful
I have laughed I have cried when I see the miraculous hand of God at work.
This world may feel hopeless and helpless
We too at times my feel some situations are completely crazy Yet
I have we have a God that declares He is our Help He is our strength
He amazes me that He knows every little detail of our life and He is the Answer
People just need to know that help can be theirs that Jesus Christ truly is the source . Living in faith is unexplainable yet it truly is what God wants us to do. Living and Giving Jesus He will work it out . I believe it !

  16. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.
6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

We cannot trust in the arm of flesh, nor position or riches, etc…we can only trust in the Lord our God for salvation, deliverance, healing… He will hear our humble cry and will answer in his timing! The name of the Lord is powerful and we will call upon him every day whether we are at peace or in the storm. Thank you for all your promises.

Psalms 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the LORD our God.

This is a great scripture. Just reading it brings out courage, strength, and hope. We cannot count on this world to bring us peace and safety. We must trust in the Lord God Almighty.

  18. Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

As long as I keep the commandments of the Lord, he will keep us along this journey of life. We can trust in the Lord with all our hearts, soul, and might. We don’t have to worry when the enemy comes in like a flood, we just have to stay strong and trust God. In this world many will trust in everything except the one thing that matters. That is why their lives are so filled with adversity and trouble. We have the sure thing and his name is Jesus.

  19. 20:7 some give credit to their chariots and soldiers
But we honor the Lord our God.
    —-
If it hadn’t been for the Lord….
Every good thing comes from above…
I give ALL honor to God. That’s unquestionably.
Because of him, I can live, because of him, I can face tomorrow. Because of him, I am still here.
He has not given us according to our sin, nor pay us according to our iniquities.
BLESSED BE THE NAME OF THE LORD!
    Thank you Lord.
    Thank you Abba.

  20. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

There is no name greater than the Lord.
Acts 4:12 “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”

  21. Thank you Jesus for today , another wonderful day . Doing his Will is the best thing to do if you have received his grace and spirit . He sets a standard against the enemy , he comforts, he heals, he restores , he knows better than us . virtue starts with yourself, no matter what he won’t let you go….. So keep the faith and execute his plans .

In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. May he remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Interlude

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

The Pslamist is recounting the battle he had just come through with Ammon. Ammon was trusting in the hired help of the men he brought to battle, David was trusting in the name of his ever present God.

As children of God we do go through battles. They all have purpose, but nevertheless they are battles. We must determine who we are going to trust in; will it be our flesh and we will work it out on our own, or will we put our trust in God?

We will get through the battle so much quicker if we will put our trust in the Lord first. He never sleeps nor does He slumber. Just like He did David, He will bring us through.

  25. LIVE – GIVE JESUS

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

I believe the psalmist references the VICTORY that they just witnessed and enjoyed. The hired armies of Ammon were powerfully defeated. Israel the people of GOD were graciously spared, David was victorious again, and the LORD was the reason.

When we consider and evaluate our current world conditions, as we have witnessed repeatedly through the WORD of GOD we are presented the opportunity to trust in man, the ability of man or trust in the LORD.

As we apply this principal to the current world situations, we must ask ourselves the question, “am I trusting in the LORD or chariots, horses, science, man or data?” As we prepare for the Endtime Harvest, this will become more of the normal. Choosing to TRUST in the LORD or HIS creation or created beings.

As for me and my house we choose the LORD. This does not mean that we will be reckless and disregard recommendations, but we place more fear in not doing the will of GOD than we do the harm that could come to us as a result of the battle.

We have these eternal instructions to support us as we CHOOSE OUR ALLEGIANCE

2Peter 1:10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:

    and

Joshua 24:15 And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

  26. “Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭20:6‬ ‭KJV

The beauty of knowing the Lord is priceless. There’s nothing that can compare to our relationship with our Father. Knowing Him in the most intimate way is knowing not only what He likes but what He doesn’t like. It’s two way communication. When we begin to open up and tell Him our deepest most hidden secrets, passions, desires and just small little things in our lives. Thats when we develop a deep and strong connection with Christ. Our roots will run deep by the river of Living Water. Then we will begin to fulfill the desires of Our Father. We will begin to be His hands, feet and mouthpiece. We will become the body of Christ and working as One. Let’s us accept the challenge today! We are surrounded by people who need us and are counting on us to Live and Give Jesus. Let the church rise up and let’s take are place.

“And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭1:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  27. 4 “Grant thee according to thine own heart, and fulfil all thy counsel.”

After reading the chapter today, I went studying “heart” in the bible. There are a 884 verses with the word “heart”.

Through reading them, I read this section and was intrigued to know that Rehoboam was strengthen physically, but failed to prepare his heart. That in the seventeen years of reign, he never sought the Lord with his whole heart, imagine the opportunities missed.

2 Chronicles 12:13-14 So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.

Amaziah was right in the sight of the Lord, but didn’t have a perfect heart. We are faced with the same today, we can live right in the sight of the Lord, and never seek the Lord with our heart.

2 Chronicles 25:1 -2 Amaziah was twenty and five years old when he began to reign, and he reigned twenty and nine years in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Jehoaddan of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, but not with a perfect heart.

Job 10:13 stated that the things hid in our heart are already known by God, and in Proverbs 3:5 to trust in the Lord with ALL thin heart, even when we don’t understand.

We cannot fake a perfect heart, only God can know the true intentions of our heart. Verse 4 says that we will be granted according to our heart, which if we follow Jeremiah 29:13 seek the Lord with all thy heart, we will find Jesus.

Jeremiah 29:13 “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.”

I pray that we Seek Jesus with our whole heart, regardless of understanding or personal intentions. Let Him be your focus, cause as we know when we LIVE Jesus, He will supply all our needs.

  28. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

It is human nature to put our trust in human strength and ability, instead of in the Lord.

But when we are fighting a spiritual war it is imperative that we renounce our trust in the strength of nature and the wisdom of this world; and to remember that we can do nothing, except in the name and through the power of our Lord Jesus Christ!

  29. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God. 8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

Those who’s beliefs are in false gods or other evil things won’t even win a battle because there is only one true God and that is our Lord, he is the Lord of Lords and king of kings. With the Lord comes victory. Let us all look upon the Lord in our trouble times and darkest moments because it is not the world or the people here that can help save you it is the Lord that will. Thank you God for this word today and thank you for protecting us and saving us, thank you for guiding us I praise and worship you daily.

  30. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

Unfortunately, we live in a world that wants to water down the gospel and make salvation a small issue. They want people to get saved and then move on to the bigger stuff when in reality there’s nothing bigger no more Grand or worth celebrating more than salvation. There is such a huge transformation that takes place where an old man that was being sent to hell is being renewed and redeemed into a higher calling period that is something that we should appreciate and look at to celebrate every single day. There’s nothing greater than salvation and our walk with God

  31. Psalm 20:4 Voice
[4] May He grant the dreams of your heart and see your plans through to the end.
In this moment, King David had one desire – to defend the people of God and the kingdom in covenant with God. Jesus let my desire – to always put you and your Kingdom first.

  32. Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the Lord our God. Those nations will fall down and collapse, but we will rise up and stand firm.
    Psalms 20:7‭-‬8 NLT

Some people may boast about their favorite sports team or an expensive name brand or even their favorite person that they call hero and they honor them by wearing clothes or a hat. We as a church should boast about Jesus by not only wearing His armor but also His fruits and show Him off. Name brands, sports teams, and other people will one day be gone but God is eternal and is always powerful.

  33. 5 We will rejoice in thy salvation, and in the name of our God we will set up our banners: the Lord fulfil all thy petitions.

We should always remember the day that the lord saved our souls from hell and we should always share our story with the ones who are lost and dying and point them to Jesus and salvation, our testimonies of salvation should always be shared.

  34. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains,
your justice like the great deep.
You, Lord, preserve both people and animals.

This verses reminded me of this….Matthew 6:25-34
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life[a]?

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

The Lord has our backs. Why should we worry?

  35. “They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.”
    Psalms 20:8 KJV

“Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me.”
    Micah 7:8 KJV

God I thank you because you brought us out of the darkness into your marvelous light and helped us to stand right back up. So when I fall I shall rise and stand in your word that is a firm foundation. All of my problem are below you Lord. I’m no longer slave to fear. Glory to God

  36. “In times of trouble, may the Lord answer your cry. May the name of the God of Jacob keep you safe from all harm. May he send you help from his sanctuary and strengthen you from Jerusalem. May he remember all your gifts and look favorably on your burnt offerings. Interlude”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭20:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/psa.20.1-3.nlt

We must let the Lord come into our hearts in times of need he will help you through anything and remind him our promises he has make and fear the Lord not fear fear.

  37. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

A bird doesn’t worry about the branch breaking beneath them when they perch. It’s because they don’t put their trust in the branch but their ability to fly.

In this same essence we don’t trust in weapons of this world instead we trust in our Almighty Omnipotent God! He made all things and no weapon can prosper against us if he doesn’t allow it. The Lord Jesus Christ is the one to gives us victory!

  38. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

It almost ad if David would ask us; where is your trust and who do you call for? It was evident that he went through trial and that he like all humans felt the emotional that we go through. Yet he held on the the Lord. It says now know I that the Lord saves his anointed. There has to be a time where you know that there are no other options. Sadly, some just keep and seeking in this earth and on humans and science, when the one that created the heavens and the earth as well as you and me is at hand. One cry away, one prayer away, one going to the altar or praising him…yes he is that close.

  39. 8They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

God’s people are mighty. When the enemy comes in like a flood, the spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard. The devil will try to pull you down, but God will keep you up. Our focus should always be on what God wants us to do. Never stop doing the will of the Lord.

  40. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

People who trusted in horses and in chariots would be overcome; but they who trusted in God alone would triumph. Victory belongs to Jesus, if we put our trust in Him, we will always win the battle. Never trust in no one else but in Jesus.

  41. “Some nations boast of their chariots and horses, but we boast in the name of the Lord our God.”(‭‭Psalms‬ ‭20:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

There’s only one God above all gods and his name is Jesus Christ. What is not of God will fall but those that stand firm

  42. on the promises of God and stand for Jesus and boast about the marvelous works of God and he will make sure you prosper for his glory.!

  43. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Most of trouble are tangible. We fight our brothers and sisters, neighbors and strangers, and each other. We put a face on our enemy, when someone harms us but for some reason or the other, all of this distracts us from the true culprit.

The devil and his fallen angels. The Word explicitly says, “…we wrestle not against flesh and blood…” David knew something we tend to forget, its not what can be seen, but the One that us unseen, remember, God for us, who can be against us?

  44. 7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Trust is a very important thing in any relationship. If one can’t trust it would be heard to have a deep and lasting relationship. Putting our trust in anything other than God is not advisable see He created it all.

  45. “See those people polishing their chariots, and those others grooming their horses? But we’re making garlands for GOD our God. The chariots will rust, those horses pull up lame— and we’ll be on our feet, standing tall.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭20:7-8‬ ‭MSG‬‬

While everyone else is caught up with vanity, we will have our eye on the real prize. It’s a waste of time and your hard earned money to try and keep up with the Jones. True riches are stored in heaven by the spiritual work we do here in earth. You could also see this scripture to mean: why waste time making ready for a fight that God had already won? Either way you take this scripture we have to keep our eyes on what is truly important or it will slip away from us.

  46. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

“. . . know I that the Lord saveth his anointed;”. A favorite excerpt for me. Very comforting and soothing to know the we are saved.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.
8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.
9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

Don’t trust in the things of this world, but rather trust in the one and only! The one true God!! When trusting the things of this world you get brought down!! But when you when trusting in the Almighty you arise and are made to stand upright!! He then hears us as we call!!

  47. 6 Now know I that the Lord saveth his anointed; he will hear him from his holy heaven with the saving strength of his right hand.

7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

8 They are brought down and fallen: but we are risen, and stand upright.

9 Save, Lord: let the king hear us when we call.

I’ll never forget what the Lord has done for me, I’m so thankful we can call on Jesus in any situation we face and he will always show up. Even when we don’t think he’s going to.

  48. 1In times of trouble, may the LORD answer your cry.

The will answer your prayers if your faithful to him. We have to stay connected to God, and continue to worship and praise him.

  49. Some people trust in things that are not God, but I trust in God! Stuff or people can not save you. Only God can hear and save. When things go wrong and we call on Him, he heard us. God is our ever present help in a time of need.
