Psalm 62

Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie: to be laid in the balance, they are altogether lighter than vanity.

10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

  1. “In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62:7-8‬ ‭KJV

I was 27 y/o when I got baptized and received the Holy Ghost. Throughout my years as a Christian, I stopped depending on people and what the world had to offer. I’m thankful and blessed knowing and seeing how much the Lord has walked with me all this time. He’s always faithful and true to His word. Family has talked and mocked. No matter what as pastor preached on Wednesday night I’m ‘looking /moving forward. Nada mas me queda. Mas que depender en mi Dios!!!!!

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the Lord Jehovah is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭12:2‬ ‭KJV

  2. 5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

The Lord Jesus Christ is the only refuge that I need. Everything that I want everything that I desire everything that I hope for is all in Him.

  3. 12 Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.

What you put into this is what you get out. It’s the law of sowing and reaping. You plant works and God returns it multiplied. You plant nothing you reap famine. Lord, I pray that good seeds that have been sown are watered and nurtured. T I me for harvest in Jesus Name.

  4. 1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

Without God, we truly have nothing. There is nothing on this Earth that can contend with Christ almighty’s love and salvation. There is nothing like basking in his presence and being secured about the unknown. Nothing will ever be able to replace the beauty of salvation and the price that was paid for it. The more we understand our God and what he feels for us and loves us the less everything else matters compared to it

  5. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

    Psalm 118:8
8It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

When I read this scripture this morning which tells us to God at all times, my mind instantly went to psalms 118 that states it’s better to put trust in the lord than to put confidence in man. We have to realize that we can not put everything in man, because we must realize that man is only flesh and will fail all the time. God is powerful and sovereign. He is the creator of the creation that he loved so much that after he created us, he repeated that he made man. It’s because we have to trust God above anything else. We should do all that we can to focus on the kingdom of God, because everything in this world is merely temporary, but God is eternal.

    Proverbs 3 states-
5Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

6In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

We have to lean on the everlasting arm of God and move to where we can fulfill our purpose. Living Jesus to be examples to give Jesus.

  6. Verses 6-7 NKJV “He only is my rock and my salvation; He is my defense; I shall not be [d]moved. In God is my salvation and my glory; The rock of my strength, And my refuge, is in God.” It says it a couple of times in this chapter, “He only”: and no one or nothing more besides; solely or exclusively. This is when we give up our will to His and trust in Him.

  7. 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.

7 My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me.

    Myself in Thee;

    Save from wrath

3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

Put you whole heart in Jesus. It doesn’t matter if you rich or poor those are material things that only last a little while. Jesus is everlasting he’s never ending. We cannot trust in the world we can only trust the word and the promise that it holds. Don’t let your finances determine your salvation. For absolutely anything that happens in my life.
    God is my rich
    My refuge
    My councilor
    My strength
    My defender
    My provider
    My joy
    The one who guides me
    The one who chastised me
    The one who reward me
    God is good!!!!!
And in shin, will I put my trust.
And to Him, will I come.
Forgot for a moment. But I will not too forget again.

  23. 10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

So many great verses in this Psalm but verse 10 stood out. We can be increased in riches in many ways others that money. We have riches of his word in our heart, riches in health in our body, riches in the ways God intervenes in the needs of our lives and the lives of our loved ones, even in answered prayers. He is my rock and sure foundation I stand upon. I am blessed because of Him.

  24. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
1 Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation.

It’s not easy to “trust” in something you can’t see. For example, Abraham and Sarah believed in the promises of God but when they didn’t “see” results they thought they would help God. It’s easy to think we would have done things differently, however how many times do we get a promise and don’t know what we are to do to receive it. Some folk think it was easy for Abraham to be with Hagar, but remember…Sarah was one of the most beautiful woman on the planet at the time. For Abraham to be with Hagar was a downgrade (from a Porche to a Station Wagon) and the Bible doesn’t mention Abraham ever having another child with her after Ishmael was born). The point is, Abraham and Sarah thought they were doing the will of God instead of simply waiting on the Lord. Easier said then done.

  25. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Pour out your heart, the sorrow it carries, the joy it possesses, the hope, the doubt, all of it, pout it out before Him. Let there not even be residue left behind. For it is in Him, you can trust.

  26. 10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

11 God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God.

It’s easy to get caught up in blessing, but don’t forget where that blessing came from. I’ve seen it many times where someone receives blessing and they think it was from something they did so they start chasing it but really it was God showing them a fraction of what he can provide. It happens to new believers and seasoned saints. We can’t forget where the blessing comes from. I don’t ever discredit God for what he’s done for me.

  27. 10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

Whom shall we put our trust in, depending and relying on the flesh will lead you further away from God. The powerful almighty God can do all things, put your trust in him always.

  28. Psalms 62:8, “Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

If there’s one thing I have learned over the past 38 years of my life, it is to Put My TRUST In God At ALL Times and to Pour Out My Heart Before Him. I have Praised Him for my Victories, I have Poured Out My Heart To Him in my sorrows, my hurts, my cares, my struggles, my desires, my needs, etc…, and He Has Always Been There For Me. I have found God to be my REFUGE, my Shelter and Protection, through every storm and cares of this life.

    Thank You JESUS!
    JESUS, You are my ROCK
    JESUS, You are my SALVATION
    JESUS, You are my DEFENCE
    JESUS, You are my GLORY
JESUS, You are the ROCK of my STRENGTH
    JESUS, You are my REFUGE
    And So Much More!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  29. 5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

When our expectation is God, then we will not lose. He is the only one that can satisfy us and bring to fulfillment. 30. “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken. My victory and honor come from God alone. He is my refuge, a rock where no enemy can reach me. O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. Interlude”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62:5-8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God is the source of my existance. Everything I need is from Him. He makes it so easy to love Him. I’m diving in heart first! I want to give my all for Him and His kingdom.

  31. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

God is our refuge for us and for all who need refuge. He is the only refuge; he is all the refuge that we need. His name is Jesus, there is none like Him. Trust in him at all times.

  32. 10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery: if riches increase, set not your heart upon them.

I think the key to staying focused on the Lord’s will is not to think about this worlds’ definition of prosperity and success.

  33. Psalms 62:2
He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.

Throughout scripture, God gives us such clear and beautiful pictures to illustrate Himself and His attributes. In these scriptures we are given the picture of our Savior as a Rock.

Psalm 18:2 “The Lord is my Rock and my fortress and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I trust; my buckler and the horn of my Salvation, and my high tower.”

Psalm 18:46 “The Lord liveth, and blessed be the Rock and let the God of my Salvation be exalted.”

Exodus 17:6 “… thou shalt smite the rock and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.”

1 Corinthians 10:4 “…for they drank of that Spiritual Rock that followed them, and that Rock was Christ.”

Jesus is Our Rock. So, therefore, Jesus is Solid. Jesus is Firm. Immovable. Sturdy. Strong. Unbreakable. Jesus is the Rock of our Salvation. Therefore, our salvation is solid. Our salvation is firm. Our salvation is immovable, sturdy, strong. Unbreakable. Our salvation is a tangible promise we can depend on, because Jesus is dependable. A Rock. Our Faith is built upon The Rock of our Salvation. when I place my faith on The Rock – Jesus, He grounds me, stabilizes me, saves me from being blown away and lost forever.

Jesus is also my firm foundation, my solid salvation, and my Rock I can stand on in my daily growing faith. I feel His strength and security rising up in me. I feel His strength solid around me, under me, and even inside and through me. I truly love this illustration that Jesus is Our Rock. Another place where we get this Rock picture of Christ was in Exodus 17:6. (see verse above) This is where the original illustration was made, and God fully intended to use it to illustrate the picture of our salvation in Christ from this event. Moses is commanded to strike the rock and water will come out of it. Water to quench the dry and thirsty bodies of the Israelites wandering through the desert. Water to give life and refreshment and filling. But water… from a rock. This is a beautiful picture of the Water of Eternal Life that God gives us freely, from The Rock of our Salvation. Jesus gives water that quenches the dry and thirsty soul, lost and wandering away from God. in Numbers 20:8-12, the people are again thirsty and in need of water. This time God tells Moses to SPEAK to the rock, and it will give forth water. This is an illustration of the already saved believer only needing to ask for fellowship and refreshment from Jesus, confessing sin as needed (1 John 1:9) for right-relationship, but not needing salvation again from sin after having asked the first time. What God is illustrating is that Jesus is the Rock and only had to be “smote” once (by the crucifixion) to give us His eternal life giving Living Water. After we receive this Living Water in Salvation, to be refilled we only need to ask through prayer. regular confession; recognizing, being remorseful over, and agreeing with God that the sins we do were paid for on the cross, is handled through prayer, and directly to Jesus. as the Rock already paid the price, and provides water for all who ask, freely. There are a number of ways that this name of Christ can be seen in the Bible, and all are an encouragement to our faith. All of them point to a solid foundation for our Savior, our Salvation, and our Faith to grow on.

  34. 6He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.

God is solid as a rock. Strengthen your relationship with God, for it cannot be shaken easily. You’ll have that firm foundation with God.

  35. “So many enemies against one man— all of them trying to kill me. To them I’m just a broken-down wall or a tottering fence. They plan to topple me from my high position. They delight in telling lies about me. They praise me to my face but curse me in their hearts. Interlude”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62:3-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
David described his enemies as those who only think through a matter if it involves bringing down a man of God. They were liars, especially in the sense of being two faced.

  36. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
    Psalms 62:7-8 KJV

O Lord you are everything we all need, you have all our needs, our desires, you give us strength, peace, joy, love, and life. Lord you hear our cry outs to you daily, only you know when is the time and what is right for us, no matter what we will listen and obey to your callings. Let us the children of God pour out unto the Lord cry out to him, for he’s going to lead us and protect us no matter what, and his timing for everything is always right we must be patient. Let us all keep our eyes up to him put all our faith and trust in him.

  37. “I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken.”‭‭(Psalms‬ ‭62:1-2 NLT)

The bible says ‭(‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:31‬ ‭NLT‬‬) But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint. The Lord himself is our strong foundation like a rock he is steadfast and unmovable he will not be shaken.

  38. “Trust [confidently] in Him at all times, O people; Pour out your heart before Him. God is a refuge for us. Selah.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62:8‬ ‭AMP‬‬

I thank God that I can pour my heart out before Him. The knowledge, wisdom, and revelations He provides are always on time. I thank God that He is the teacher and His Word is a guide on life. I pray we heed His Word, knowing He has our best interest in mind

  39. “Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will not be shaken.”

    Psalms 62:8 KJV

Trust in Jesus all the time, trust Him everywhere you go. Trust Him in every situation trust Him because He is good and mighty. Give your all to Jesus. He will be a refuge for us in the time of trouble and He will comfort and protect us at all time and because we put our faith and trust in Him Jesus will never fail us nor leave us.

  41. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Which ever your situation is. Pour out your heart to God, take refuge in Him. For God is our father, the author of our lives. He is able to do the imposible, posible! He will make a way, when all seems hopeless. Trust in Him wholeheartedly and know that His plans are better than our own.

  42. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

    Selah!!! wait for IT!!!

  43. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

Its almost as if the psalmist urges us to really hear and understand his words. “trust in him at all time; ye people.” The Lord knows our frailty and from human to human, the psalmist understands too and continues to say pour out your heart before him. Trust takes time. And it can take time to build. The only way to have trust in is through relationship and experience. One could to a friend, he is faithful, has never failed me before that’s why I know he will come through again. Yet, to have this kind of trust requires vulnerability and try for a first time. To say I’m gonna trust that you will do whatever you say you will do.

There are certain levels of trust. I’m pretty sure you would trust your best friend with your most intimate secrets or a task that is very sensitive. Thats why through time and friendship and experience you have proven that you can trust each other.

Prayer, worship, reading of the word, devotion… are all ways we can spend time with the Lord and build relationship. He will always pour out his Spirit. He will be found if you seek him with all your heart.

You will be able to experience the truth of his words and really taste and see that the Lord is good.

Trust in him at all times. Yes time will come when your emotions and your heart will trouble, but like the psalmist says, pour out your heart to him…

  44. 7 In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God.

Most rocks and stones can be easily broken with a sledgehammer or jackhammer. The rock that we stand up on is unbreakable. Jesus is our rock and salvation. He is our foundation on which we must stand. Sometimes standing in the middle of storms can make it difficult to keep balanced. For when I am weak, then I am strong. He is the rock of our strength and our refuge. When we cannot, our God can. Twice the Psalmist said to wait upon God and that he would not be moved. That takes depending on Him and determination not to waiver.

  45. 8 Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.

With all the things going on in the world right now our only refuge is him. Folks are caught up in thinking the right politician is going to save them but the only one who can do that is Jesus. I believe God is going to show favor upon those who really trust him on these trying times. Let us trust and believe and let God take care of the rest.

  46. “Also unto thee, O Lord, belongeth mercy: for thou renderest to every man according to his work.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭62:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If we are merciful we are giving that which belongs to God. God is our ultimate example of the mercy that we are to bestow on others. He gave mercy when people were vicious. His life was given in mercy for us. Jesus help me to show more mercy to those I am around so that I can show more of you everyday.

  47. “Their own tongues will ruin them, and all who see them will shake their heads in scorn. Then everyone will be afraid; they will proclaim the mighty acts of God and realize all the amazing things he does.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭64:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The world will fail them and us. We must stand, and stay firm on the Lord and let his will come first.

  48. 3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

A question for so many saints in our churches today, “How long will ye imagine mischief against a man?” Don’t be the negative Nancy of the Church! And by negative I don’t mean negative of COVID! Don’t be the Negative attitude Nancy!! Speak good words of our fellow friends and neighbors, not only those saved but those lost as well. “. . . they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, . . .” Do not be deceived and speak those negative words and cast sarcasm, deceit, and gossip like a wildfire, but rather speak positivity and encouragement into each other’s lives!! “. . . they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly.” Don’t be a hypocrite either. I know we are all human, but when we feel the need to curse, we all know we need to pray. But some of us will curse in our thoughts and think it’s okay, however, it’s not. Remember, “. . . For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” – Luke 6:45b. Just because it’s thought and not said doesn’t make it not a sin.

  49. 2 He only is my rock and my salvation; he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved.

3 How long will ye imagine mischief against a man? ye shall be slain all of you: as a bowing wall shall ye be, and as a tottering fence.

4 They only consult to cast him down from his excellency: they delight in lies: they bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.

5 My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.

6 He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be moved.

I Shall Not be Moved – There is an old hymn that says
    Jesus is my Savior, I shall not be moved;
In His love and favor, I shall not be moved,
Just like a tree that’s planted by the waters,
Lord, I shall not be moved.

    In my Christ abiding, I shall not be moved;
In His love I’m hiding, I shall not be moved,
Just like a tree that’s planted by the waters,
Lord, I shall not be moved.

    If I trust Him ever, I shall not be moved;
He will fail me never, I shall not be moved,
Just like a tree that’s planted by the waters,
Lord, I shall not be moved.

    On His word I’m feeding, I shall not be moved;
He’s the One that’s leading, I shall not be moved,
Just like a tree that’s planted by the waters,
Lord, I shall not be moved.

    Chorus
    I shall not be, I shall not be moved;
    I shall not be, I shall not be moved;
Just like a tree that’s planted by the waters,
Lord, I shall not be moved.

If our roots are deep, regardless of the troubles, trials, tests and victories that come our way, we are going to stand sure and steady like an old oak tree.

    Romans 8:38-39

38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,

39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
