Psalm 41

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

10 But thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.

13 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

  1. “My vicious enemies ask me, “When will you die and be forgotten?””
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭41:5‬ ‭CEV‬‬

A betrayal of a friend or better yet a family member is one of the hardest to get past your mind.
But as for David he continues to remind himself where the Lord is at all times. David May feel somewhat defeated, betrayed, alone, sick( COVID), depressed, etc. One thing is for sure…we all have been there plenty of times. We must be very diligent in not staying in this mode of thinking. It will not get you better spiritually, mentally, or even physically. We must continue in having the mind of Christ in all things. This season that we as a church is only but for a season. The LORD is our strength, peace, healer, friend, Father, savior, Joy. We cannot find all of this in anything or in any one. Remember the LORD JESUS in His word.
    Hallelujah ❤️

“Remember the word unto thy servant, upon which thou hast caused me to hope. This is my comfort in my affliction: for thy word hath quickened me.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭119:49-50‬ ‭KJV

  2. We all have had those times that it seems everyone is against us! But, the key here is turning to the Lord for help.

    “Lean on Jesus”……

  3. 9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Many years ago when I started this journey with Jesus a friend teach me a very valuable lesson. So I won’t get hurt down the journey that I have taken and it is. That I wasn’t going to get invited to all the Friends and family get together’s and all the church fellowship or all the church meetings. And that the only call that I should worry about is the call of Jesus Christ in my life and in my family. (It’s just the thought that I was In my mind thank you brother friend).

  4. 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

There are too many things in this life that we can be grateful for and too many things that we have been blessed with to not consider a reach out to people less fortunate. I’ve yet to find any reason or justification for not helping or blessing someone who is struggling to make ends meet. Someone told me a long time ago that whenever you take care of the poor, that God will take care of you and that he will pour blessings into your life; however this was not a principal to abuse but one to live by. As christians, I believe we are obligated to help the needy and the poor but it is one obligation we should be able to do with an open heart, because stop being a Christian is.

  5. 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

4 I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.

Here David was proclaiming that Hod would simply be willing to reach down in the midst of his sickness and heal him if he would think of others before himself. We see that David’s belief in the promises of God if he puts others first. How true with the favor of God if we consider the welfare of others before ourselves. We have to look at the circumstances to see what we can do and do it. God will keep them that prefer their brother or sister before themselves. We have to be able to love others even when we are in the midst of trials and tribulations. The scripture tells us that we ought to love our neighbor as we love ourselves.

This is a great example of living Jesus to be willing to give Jesus to others. The church has to be a place of live and compassion to others. We have to be willing to serve them in their time of need. We must never forget where God’s grace and mercy brought us out of and extend that same mercy and grace to others. God will truly bless those that will be king and love the lost even when no one else will. Remember Jesus is about people and if we become more about people, then surely the favor of God will bless us more than we could ever imagine.

  6. Verses 1-4 MSG “Dignify those who are down on their luck; you’ll feel good—that’s what God does. God looks after us all, makes us robust with life—Lucky to be in the land, we’re free from enemy worries. Whenever we’re sick and in bed, God becomes our nurse, nurses us back to health. I said, “God, be gracious! Put me together again—my sins have torn me to pieces.” Two different songs came to my mind in reading this “Graves into Gardens” and “The Blessing”:

    Then You came along
    And put me back together
And every desire is now satisfied Here in Your love

‘Cause the God of the mountain
Is the God of the valley
    There’s not a place
    Your mercy and grace
    Won’t find me again

    and

    The Lord bless you
    And keep you
Make His face shine upon you
    And be gracious to you
    The Lord turn His
    Face toward you
    And give you peace

  7. Psalm 41

5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

6 And if he come to see me, he speaketh vanity: his heart gathereth iniquity to itself; when he goeth abroad, he telleth it.

7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

8 An evil disease, say they, cleaveth fast unto him: and now that he lieth he shall rise up no more.

  8. 1 Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble.

2 The LORD protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies.

3 The LORD nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health. NLT

If God is protecting them and we cause them trouble, then we are the ones in trouble because He will protect them from us.

    Psalm 72:
12 He will rescue the poor when they cry to him; he will help the oppressed, who have no one to defend them.

13 He feels pity for the weak and the needy, and he will rescue them.

14 He will redeem them from oppression and violence, for their lives are precious to him.

  9. Ps. 41: 12-13 [ amp] And as for me in my integrity and set me in Your presence forever.
[13] Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting [ from this age to the next; and forevet]
Amen and Amen ( so be it).
Ps. 9: 18 [ For the needly shall not always be forgotten, and the expectation and hope of the meek and poor shall not perish forever.
There are people that hate you, even your own family members because you love God .
What does bible ” Bless those that curse You!
Just be like Jesus love them and pray for them!
I bless this world in the name of Jesus.

  10. 9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

Psalms 118:8 – [It is] better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man.

GOD IS FAITHFUL ALL THE TIME!!! He isn’t a father that has selfish ways or loves sometimes!!! HIS love is unconditional and true!!!

  11. I’m so glad God loves me and helps me figure out my weirdness. As the scripture talked about today that if someone feels ill against you God will help you thru it. Sometimes it’s hard when you start your day off to someone grumbling at you. In his word God says I will help you thru it. This may be small to some but to others not so small.

  12. We cannot forget the poor. I believe that this is not just talking about poor in finance but also includes poor in spirit poor in the mind.
There are people every day walking around needing us to help but it takes a church willing to look and see the needs of this world.
Someone today will need us to help them it may be with a word or a tank of gas or a prayer but there are people hurting today and we can help

  13. 9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

It is easy to accept that some people will not like you, but when your own family or dear friend turn their backs on you it’s hurts the most. Specially when you have not done anything wrong. Consider Job, even his own wife told him to curse God and die. His friends will come to insinuate that the reason he was so sick was because he had sinned. Job, sat and search his heart over and over asking himself and God where have he sinned to deserve this. I know this hurts, when my son died and when I had cancer they did the same thing to me. Guess what, bad things happen to good people. Even a Rabbi wrote a book about it. May God help us be better friends and better family, slow to judge, and faster to give love and help them with what they need. In Jesus Name Amen

  14. 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.
3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

David is confident God has the power to deliver believers from any distress.

9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.

It hurts much more when family and friends betray you. But what a friend we have in Jesus!! He he will never leave you nor for sake you.

  15. Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The Lord rescues them when they are in trouble. The Lord protects them and keeps them alive. He gives them prosperity in the land and rescues them from their enemies. The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health.
    Psalms 41:1‭-‬3 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/psa.41.1-3.NLT

There are so many scriptures that talk about the blessings that come with blessing the poor period when we give unto the poor the Lord pays back whatever we have give. We are always taking care of period our needs are always met. There’s nothing that we go without period and I love this scripture because I never thought about him giving good health as well! Especially in times like now where kovid is all over the place and cancer and all kinds of medical issues health is a precious commodity so all the more reason to give unto the poor! Thank you Jesus for your promises that are strong and true even today! I bless your holy name!

  16. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus

Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
This is what I was talking about when I made the statement, “If you help with milk and bread there might be a day when you can remind God to return the favor.” This Scripture hits the nail on the head. When we give of ourselves, God will return the favor. You cannot out give God.

  17. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    FAVOR

11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

Life is filled with tests and trials of our FAITH, not to destroy us but to prove our FAITH in the power of GOD to deliver, heal or keep us. We occasionally face opposition that attempts to weaken, defame or destroy us.

    BUT

The LORD inhabits the praises of Israel. When we PRAISE GOD, HE becomes our defender and enthrones himself in our Praise. This is how we gain HIS favor, that our enemies do not triumph.

Favor is the result of relationship. As we LIVE JESUS we foster relationship and naturally gain HIS favor. Favor is not something that we can just pray for and receive. Favor is built and recognized over time. Through each VICTORY we should reflect and recognize the FAVOR of GOD. Could it have been worse? Did someone speak up, donate or move something on your behalf? This is how GOD will FAVOR us.

When we make JESUS our favorite in every aspect, HE reciprocates back to us HIS Favor. HIS Word cannot lie.

    Hosea 10:12 Sow to yourselves in righteousness, reap in mercy;

To LIVE JESUS is to SOW in Righteousness and to Reap in Mercy or Favor.

  18. 10 But thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.
11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

The Lord is on our side! No matter what comes my way, I sing hallelujah anyhow, because I know no matter how hard the enemy tries, with God on my side, he will not prevail!

  19. Thank you Jesus Christ for today, our father which art in heaven thy kingdom come thy will be done. It’s important I’m uncertain times, in times of despair and anxiety – that’s when you call on the name of Jesus for truth and direction . Hallelujah !!!!!!

The Lord nurses them when they are sick and restores them to health. “O Lord ,” I prayed, “have mercy on me. Heal me, for I have sinned against you.” They visit me as if they were my friends, but all the while they gather gossip, and when they leave, they spread it everywhere. Praise the Lord , the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting. Amen and amen!
    Psalms 41:3‭-‬4‭, ‬6‭, ‬13

  20. 11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.
12 And as for me, thou upholdest me in mine integrity, and settest me before thy face for ever.
13 Blessed be the Lord God of Israel from everlasting, and to everlasting. Amen, and Amen.

God will always honor the righteous. The truth will stand forever and his word never fails.

  21. 41:1-3 amp. Blessed [by God’s Grace and compassion]
Is he who considers the helpless.
The lord will save him in the day of trouble.

The lord will protect him and
Keep him alive and he will be blessed in the land
You will not hand him over to the desires of his enemies.

The lord will sustain and strengthen him
In his sick bed, in his illness
You will restore him to health.

    ——-
    Hallelujah 🙌.
And that’s what the body of Christ is getting ready to do this coming Saturday.
👉🏼Blessing the community, with milk and bread
A very important part of the needs of a home.
POFW is a blessed church. We are looking up
    Going up
    Thinking with a Kingdom mentality
And always keeping in mind to bless others because we have been blessed.
👉🏼For God looks at the heart!!!
Hallelujah, blessed be the name of the lord🙌.

  22. 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

Makes me think of Milk and Bread Outreach. God is pleased when we remember those in need and will return to those that give when their time of need may come. We cannot out give God.

  23. 2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

    Blessed and Protected

  24. Psalms 41:1-3
    1) BLESSED is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
    2) The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him onto the will of his enemies.
    3) The LORD will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

Reach out and help someone less fortunate than you today. Reach out and help the poor, whether they need milk & bread / a bag of groceries / a 10 dollar bill; or they need a bowl of soup / or a meal when they’re sick; or they need a smile / an encouraging word / an act of kindness done for them, for when you do, You Will Be BLESSED by God!!
He will Deliver you, Preserve you, Keep you, Prosper you, Strengthen you, Heal you, and so much more.

    LIVE JESUS – GIVE JESUS

  25. 1 Oh, the joys of those who are kind to the poor! The LORD rescues them when they are in trouble.

Yes, lets do milk/bread with joy in our hearts. We get to bless the community. We get introduce God to people too. Many will accept our generosity and thank us for it. But there will be a few, who will reject what we give them. Lets continue to do our part in reaching the lost and inviting people to church.

  26. 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
The poor in this world will inherit the Kindom of God, because their humility has led them to be saved by having faith in the atonement of Christ.

  27. 10 But thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them.

11 By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.

Regardless of what comes our way, we can resolve in our mind that the Lord will be merciful to us, and favor us that our enemies will not triumph over us.

There’s a table that you’ve prepared for me
In the presence of my enemies
Where you laid out Your instructions there for me
This is how I fight my battles

    I believe You’ve overcome
And I will lift my song of praise for what You’ve done
This is how I fight my battles
This is how I fight my battles

In the valley I know that You’re with me
Surely Your goodness and Your mercy follows me
My weapons are my praise and my testimony
This is how I fight my battles

It may look like I’m surrounded
    But I’m surrounded by You

Oh Oh Victory belongs to Jesus
    Victory belongs to Him

  28. 5 Mine enemies speak evil of me, When shall he die, and his name perish?

We should always remember that God always has our best interest in his hands and that whenever someone rises up against us we should never let it worry us because God has everything under control and he will always take care of it.

  29. 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

As we help the one in need, God will always protect you and deliver you from trouble. Don’t forget to help someone in need. He is watching us.

  30. 7 All that hate me whisper together against me: against me do they devise my hurt.

There are those that desire to see you harmed. People who take pleasure in your displeasure. Don’t let your head hang low, but stand strong. Our father who gives us strength, will help see us through all adversity. Our God is still a consuming fire.

  31. Psalm 41:1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor (helpless) the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

Proverbs 14:21 He that despiseth his neighbor sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

Acts 20:35 I have showed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

So let’s keep giving to our community, here we come with Milk and bread and be “Happy!”

  32. Psalms 41:13
Praise the lord, the God of Israel, who lives from everlasting to everlasting.
    Amen and amen!

    Nehemiah 9:5-6
[5]Then the leaders of the Levites—Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah—called out to the people: “Stand up and praise the lord your God, for he lives from everlasting to everlasting!” Then they prayed:“May your glorious name be praised! May it be exalted above all blessing and praise!
[6]“You alone are the lord. You made the skies and the heavens and all the stars. You made the earth and the seas and everything in them. You preserve them all, and the angels of heaven worship you.

  33. 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

Over the years, I have seen Jesus preserve me repeatedly.

  34. “By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭41:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We serve a victorious God meaning the fight is fixed! God has shown us favor and will continue to because His Word says He always makes a way of escape. I thank God He is the King of EVERY battle!! I pray we allow this truth to keep us encouraged

  35.  Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.

2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

3 The Lord will strengthen him upon the bed of languishing: thou wilt make all his bed in his sickness.

Throughout the Word of God we find principles and keys in how to be blessed. There is a scripture that says if you are lending unto the poor you are lending to God. Which let’s you know that He will repay of what you give. Give and it shall be given. That’s God principle in the word. Now we read of great benefits here. It may not always be monetary but who can buy health?? God is the giver of life and the great physician. It truly is more blessed to give than to receive.

  36. “I said, Lord, be merciful unto me: heal my soul; for I have sinned against thee.”
    Psalms 41:4 KJV

When we sin and it feels like we’ve done the worst thing we’ve ever done, just remember that the Lord is a merciful God and a forgiving God. We can come to Him wholeheartedly and He will forgive us for our sins. But we got to make up in our mind that we’re not gonna live that same life but we’re gonna live Jesus and give Jesus. Because there’s nothing that can satisfy me but your word Jesus. I want more of you in my life so I will decrease so you can increase in my life.

  37. 1 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the Lord will deliver him in time of trouble.
2 The Lord will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

Something so simple as just being considerate to the poor to get complete attention of God that he would say you’d expect delivered in your time of trouble. I say simple . . . Yet it makes you think. . . We say simple and benign, yet. . . It must not be simple if God would put such great emphasis on a so called “simple” task. How great is it for us to just be consecrate of the poor and God will then deliver us in our times of trouble! Being considerate is not a simple task, but a great task to always keep in mind!!

  38. “The Lord sustains them on their sickbed and restores them from their bed of illness.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭41:3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This made me think of all who have been impacted by the pandemic this year. Those who know God have struggled to understand the events that are unfolding, we’re just trying to make best if the situation. Thankfully we can find comfort in a loving and compassionate God. If we, who have a relationship with God have struggled this year can you imagine the others who have gone through this year with him? We are blessed to know him and be given peace and security!

  39. Psa 41:1  To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.
Psa 41:2  The LORD will preserve him, and keep him alive; and he shall be blessed upon the earth: and thou wilt not deliver him unto the will of his enemies.

Consider the poor is placing the other before yourself. This is an act of humility. Servitude is an act of humility and can be radical if you make it radical. We are to consider the poor in multiple ways sharing the gospel is one of them. Dig in the word so you can go and feed the word to those that are without it. So many people still need revelation which can only be given by God but maybe he wants to use you to deliver the word.
So many of us have the knowledge but so few of us actually follow with action with that knowledge. We gotta get after it in Jesus name

  40. “But thou, O Lord, be merciful unto me, and raise me up, that I may requite them. By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭41:10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sometimes it’s hard to see all the good that is happening. Sometimes we have to find the good. Knowing that God is with you because your enemy is not triumphing over you is one way to find the good. Sometimes we all have to look a little harder.
