2 Samuel 22

And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

11 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: and he was seen upon the wings of the wind.

12 And he made darkness pavilions round about him, dark waters, and thick clouds of the skies.

13 Through the brightness before him were coals of fire kindled.

14 The Lord thundered from heaven, and the most High uttered his voice.

15 And he sent out arrows, and scattered them; lightning, and discomfited them.

16 And the channels of the sea appeared, the foundations of the world were discovered, at the rebuking of the Lord, at the blast of the breath of his nostrils.

17 He sent from above, he took me; he drew me out of many waters;

18 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them that hated me: for they were too strong for me.

19 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.

20 He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

21 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

22 For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

23 For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them.

24 I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

25 Therefore the Lord hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

26 With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

27 With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.

28 And the afflicted people thou wilt save: but thine eyes are upon the haughty, that thou mayest bring them down.

29 For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.

30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

32 For who is God, save the Lord? and who is a rock, save our God?

33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

34 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

36 Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy gentleness hath made me great.

37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

38 I have pursued mine enemies, and destroyed them; and turned not again until I had consumed them.

39 And I have consumed them, and wounded them, that they could not arise: yea, they are fallen under my feet.

40 For thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast thou subdued under me.

41 Thou hast also given me the necks of mine enemies, that I might destroy them that hate me.

42 They looked, but there was none to save; even unto the Lord, but he answered them not.

43 Then did I beat them as small as the dust of the earth, I did stamp them as the mire of the street, and did spread them abroad.

44 Thou also hast delivered me from the strivings of my people, thou hast kept me to be head of the heathen: a people which I knew not shall serve me.

45 Strangers shall submit themselves unto me: as soon as they hear, they shall be obedient unto me.

46 Strangers shall fade away, and they shall be afraid out of their close places.

47 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.

48 It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me.

49 And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

50 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

51 He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

  2. 2 Samuel 22

    1 And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:

    2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

    4 I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

    5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

    6 The sorrows of hell compassed me about; the snares of death prevented me;

    7 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

    8 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

    10 He bowed the heavens also, and came down; and darkness was under his feet.

  3. 29 For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.

    30 For by thee I have run through a troop: by my God have I leaped over a wall.

    31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

    As we read this chapter we see the greatness of God as David describes some of the attributes of God. Our God had kept him through most of the trials and tribulations of David’s life. We find that as David was a man after God’s own heart, he was just an ordinary man of flesh and bone. One who even though he would fail, always knew how to get back to the grace and mercy of God. Through the strength and anointing of God, David was able to conquer the the enemy time and time again. Even when Saul or Absalom was trying to overthrow Him, he was able to trust that God would protect him.

    Verse 31 describes God’s ways as perfect and all those that trust in him, God will be a buckler or a defense for them. He will be a covering, a tower, a refuge, and a horn of salvation for those that love him. The one important thing to remember is that God’s ways or not our ways. He does not do things our way, but we have to do them his way. We have the blessed assurance of God no matter what we have to go through he will keep us.

  4. 47 The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation.
    48 It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me.

    Something that God placed in all of our inherent beings is the need for stability and structure children that are raised in a home with routine and a proper balance their needs being met consistently are more likely to grow up as successful adults. Inside every human being there is in innate need for this . And I firmly stand on that being a gap that God placed in our life for Him to fill. The only stable thing I’ve ever had consistently is my walk with God. I’ve moved different places, I had different jobs, went through different trials and tribulations, even before I knew salvation I had a reliance and a walk with God. It is one of my only stable relationships my entire existence. The closer I get to God the more I realize how much I truly need him and the less I desire of anything else in this world because I see that he truly is the rock of salvation

  5. 33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

    34 He maketh my feet like hinds’ feet: and setteth me upon my high places.

    37 Thou hast enlarged my steps under me; so that my feet did not slip.

    You can’t live for God without His constant help – He is our strength and power; without Him we are weak. He makes our feet like the deer‘s feet and enlarged our steps so that we can walk sure-footed in the slippery places. Take any of those away and we would slide back down the cliff.
    Even if you do slip and fall, getting cuts and bruises along the way, don’t crash and burn; keep climbing, it’ll be worth it all!

    I will never get tired of telling the times God has pulled me out of the deep. The majesty of when He comes in and totally redeems us and everything flows beautifully the way He commands is just amazing💖 I give You Glory, my King!

  7. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    THE PRAISEWORTHY GOD

    4 I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

    The question yet remains daily for us to answer.

    “First The Kingdom of GOD”?

    The answer is in our actions. What do I choose to do instead of Pray, Read, Worship and Praise. The psalmist reveals some human nature here. In the fact that we all tend to call on someone or something in times of trouble or tribulation.

    The psalmist also identifies in advance who or what he will call on.

    “I will call on the LORD”

    HE is worthy
    HE will save me

    In times of trouble we are poised and positioned to call on the LORD.

    But do we?

    This is why daily relationship with JESUS is so important. Praying daily to commune with GOD and Reading my BIBLE daily to hear what HE is saying.

    In this chapter of reflection, David identifies how good GOD is and how BLESSED his life has been from following and praising GOD.

    I pray we receive the revelation of David here and declare THE PRAISEWORTHY GOD is the Lord we call on. HE will save us.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive
    iGive

  8. 8Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.

    9 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

    When God has “enough” everyone will know. When He got his full of Sodom and Gomorrah, He destroyed it by fire. When He has enough in this chapter, tge Heavens and earth shook from His rage. When He gets enough of the mess this godless world as we know it, He once again will take His flight of vengeance.

    We better make sure we are on His side when that happens, else we will feel the wrath of Hod in a manner like no other.

  9. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
    2 Samuel 22:7 In my distress I called upon the LORD, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

    David had gone through a lot of trouble and issues. David was quite often painted by his brothers and those in power as someone looking for mischief, when in reality he never asked for any power at all. The false image of David continues today in the 21st Centry. On the History Channel they have a documentary on David’s life. Historians and Scholars have painted David as a power hungry villain who will stop at nothing to ascend to the throne. My point is, David was falsely accused back then and is still being falsely accused today. David was a man after God’s own heart. Even though it felt like his prayer was not reaching heaven sometimes, he declared his prayer did reach the heaven and now God was about to tear stuff up!

    We must not allow what others think about our leadership put us into depression. David didn’t care what others thought, he pressed on into the will of God and God did mighty things through David.

  10. 2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
    3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
    4 I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

    29 For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.

  11. 2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
    3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.
    4 I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

    Call on Jesus! If we truly believe He is all these things and more, then our first instinct to amy situation should be to call on the Name of Jesus!

  12. Psalm 22:29
    David praised God for His mercy

    V.29 For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.

    Psalm 29:50,51 Praise to the Lord

    Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name. He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed forevermore.

    Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

    Psalm 57:7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed : I will sing and give praise.

    David praised Him in everything, he had a song of praise, praise for deliverance, judgment,mercy, strength, vengeance,

  13. 2 Sam. 22:50-51 [ amp] For this I will give thanks and extol You. O Lord among the nations; I will sing praises to Your name.
    [ 51] He is a Tower of salvation and great deliverance to His king, and shows loving- kindness to His spring forever.
    David wasn’t scare to ask God for guildness.
    David always praise God for everything.
    I will extol him and give a praise with a song in my heart. Jesus is so good to us.
    Jesus is my rock and my savior.
    Jesus the rock of salvation.
    Amen.

  14. 20 He brought me forth also into a large place: he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

    David shows us how to give praise to the Lord. The Lord is our deliver and our enemies can not reach us becacause the Lord is our high tower. We have our learning upon His rock and our strenth is from His horn.

  15. 29O LORD, you are my lamp. The LORD lights up my darkness.

    With God, your life will always be in lightness. You don’t have to be in darkness, alone, distressed. The light of God brings blessings, healings, encouragement, strength, etc. Put your faith in God!

  16. 2 Samuel 22
    35 He teacheth my hands to war; so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms.

    Teach me daily something Lord that will strengthen me to be fully equipped for such a time as this.

    Show me Your ways
    That I may walk with You
    Show me Your ways
    I put my hope in You
    The cry of my heart
    Is to love You more
    To live with the
    Touch of Your hand
    Stronger each day
    Show me Your ways

    Everyday there is a lesson to be learned .
    There is surely something we can share to encourage and assure others God is our strength and our help in the times of trouble. We can have this confidence

    Philippians 1:6
    Living Translation
    And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue his work until it is finally finished on the day when Christ Jesus returns.

  17. The only true living God is great and greatly to be praised. I dont know how to make it without him,I cannot take it without him.

  18. 31 As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is tried: he is a buckler to all them that trust in him.

    Trust in Jesus He is ALL YOU NEED!! When trouble times come and you don’t know what to do, LOOK UP for your help comes from above! God is the rock, the strong tower, our refuge, and strength. There is no enemy too big or too strong for JESUS!!! Thank you JESUS!!! ALL YOUR HELP IS IN JESUS!!! TRUST IN HIM AND YOU WILL HAVE VICTORY!

  19. “The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness: according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me. For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God. For all his judgments were before me: and as for his statutes, I did not depart from them. I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity. Therefore the Lord hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.”
    ‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭22:21-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    What a life has David lived. Apart from the LORD king David would have never known the mighty hand of the LORD upon his life. GOD has been his protector, his shield, his buckler, his comfort, his provider, his deliver…etc. What a beautiful relationship. You see how the blessings of GOD will follow you through out your obedience to the word of The LORD JESUS!!! Though the fire was hot, David never ceased to trust in his GOD.

    “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭1:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  20. 7 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

    I have tried to fix my life on my own. But it just keep messing ti up worse and worse. And then I say to myself well I’m in young LV better but it didn’t get better. So I call upon family friends but no change yet my life got worse, worse. In my Agony I call upon the lord and I know he heard my cry. At 25 years old my life was a mess and I prayers simple prayer glory of them gonna do this you’re gonna have to start warming some stuff around and he did this what happened.

    Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he Heard my prayer.
    Friends start falling off the face of the earth my live star shifting my job switched God start moving some stuff around so I could be here today. Has been a bumpy ride but I would not change A bit of it for the world.

  21. 26-30 you are faithful to those who are faithful
    You are god to those who are good
    Lord, you never do wrong to those who have done no wrong
    But you outsmart the wicked
    No matter hope clever they are
    You help those who are humble
    But as you see the proud, you humiliate them
    Lord, you are my lamp
    You Lord turn the darkness around me into light.

  22. 2 Samuel 22
    What a Mighty and Awesome God we serve. To know that He is our Rock, our
    Fortress, our Deliverer, our Shield, our Horn of Salvation. To know that we can cry to Him in our distress (anguish, pain, suffering, etc…), and He will hear us. At times He will move heaven and earth to deliver us, and other times He will be our light in the darkness (vs.29), and teach our hands to war (vs.35), and gird us with strength to battle (vs.40).
    But either way He does it, we should always give Him Thanks, always give Him the Glory, always Sing Praises to His Name!!

  23. “O Lord, you are my lamp. The Lord lights up my darkness.

    “God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.”

    God is my lamp in this dark and negative world. You Jesus shine your light for all to see that you are good. Let’s us follow the ways of the Lord, that He has made for all of us. His ways are perfect and He will lead us to our promises. God will guide and protect us with His shield of victory.

    Jesus paves the way! He lights my path along the way and makes my feet strong so I can withstand all terrain. He shields me from my affliction and broadened my steps. His way is the only way and his path is the perfect path. I am able to leap over bounds and break through my bonds. Lord Jesus is my comforter my strength and my salvation! You are my rock, my foundation, and my foot hold. Thank you Jesus! Amen!

  25. “He sang: “The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior; my God is my rock, in whom I find protection. He is my shield, the power that saves me, and my place of safety. He is my refuge, my savior, the one who saves me from violence. I called on the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and he saved me from my enemies.”
    ‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭22:2-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    When we see God for who He is, it is easy to trust Him. When we know He is our rock and fortress and deliverer and shield and stronghold and Savior, it is natural to then trust Him completely.

  26. 2 Samuel 22:2-3,17,20,29,31,50

    [2]He sang:
    “The lord is my rock, my fortress, and my savior;

    [3]my God is my rock, in whom I find protection.
    He is my shield, the power that saves me,
        and my place of safety.
    He is my refuge, my savior,
        the one who saves me from violence.

    [17]“He reached down from heaven and rescued me;
        he drew me out of deep waters.

    [20]He led me to a place of safety;
        he rescued me because he delights in me.

    [29]O  lord, you are my lamp.
        The lord lights up my darkness.

    [31]“God’s way is perfect.
        All the lord’s promises prove true.
        He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.

    [50]For this, O  lord, I will praise you among the nations;
        I will sing praises to your name.

    Wow. This chapter is beautiful. No matter what Jesus is always by our side loving and protecting us. He is worthy of all the praise. Our nation needs to know how wonderful and loving Jesus is. Thank you Jesus. Your a good father.

  27. 1 And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord had delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul:
    2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
    3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

    The God of my rock. Jesus is my rock who I trust and follow in him is my salvation and help.
    When this world is going crazy and is shaking all around us I know one thing that never moves or shakes and that is Jesus.
    Hold on to Jesus everyday and our life will be OK

  28. 4 I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

    Knowing where to turn and that He will save us is a huge and important realization in anyone’s life.

    7 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

    But then we must take it a step further and witness and tell others of our past testimonies. Let people know that you have called on God in the past and he has answered your prayers. Testify and spread the testimony of His works.

  29. 31 “God’s way is perfect. All the Lords promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.
    50 For this, O Lord, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing praises to your name. 51 You give great victories to your king; you show unfailing love to your anointed, to David and all his descendants forever.”
    2 Samuel 22:31 and 50-51 NLT

    O God you are my provider, my healer, my savior and protector. You never go a day without providing us with blessings and miracles, for you never fail us. Let us follow his ways, obey his word and commandments, there will never be a wrong direction with the Lord he is victory he will lead us in victory no matter what. Lord I will never stop praising or worshiping you name no matter what. For you are good all the time.

  30. Verses 21-25 MSG “God made my life complete when I placed all the pieces before him. When I cleaned up my act, he gave me a fresh start. Indeed, I’ve kept alert to God’s ways; I haven’t taken God for granted. Every day I review the ways he works, I try not to miss a trick. I feel put back together, and I’m watching my step. God rewrote the text of my life when I opened the book of my heart to his eyes.” We must never forget what He has brought us through and blessed us with. Stay focused on the Lord and commit yourself to Him.

    Proverbs 16:3 AMP says [a]Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].” Philippians 3:15-16 MSG “So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision—you’ll see it yet! Now that we’re on the right track, let’s stay on it.”

  31. 29 For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.

    WOW…. what a thought…. There nothing greater than the darkness of the pit of hell!

    Psalms 27:1
    The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?
    the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?

  32. And David spake unto the Lord the words of this song in the day that the Lord had delivered out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul: And he said the Lord is my rock; and my fortress, and my deliverer; The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour: thou savest me from violence.2 Samuel 1- 3

    David knew when he talked to the Lord that God would help him. David loved God whom he did trust and was faithful to Him. When you are not faithful to our Lord blessings will not be bestowed on you. Sometimes we all have trials and it usually brings you closer to our Lord and Saviour. God is in charge and he is good to His children. He does not want us to suffer but wants us to be faithful and righteous to Him. I thank you for this day Lord Jesus.

  33. 29 For thou art my lamp, O Lord: and the Lord will lighten my darkness.

    The Psalmist points out the way God shows up and shows out mightily when we cry out to Him. He does this to deliver his people from the affliction of the enemy. This means he sees the light of holiness and righteousness when surrounded by the adversary and his henchmen. He identifies that because of his righteousness and clean hands God acted on his behalf. Therefore, living a separated life, devoted to God will grab Gods attention under attack. Some attacks build faith and endurance.

    Here the anger of God turns to wrath toward the wicked. It may look like David is surrounded by the enemy but soon he is surrounded by God. He is our deliver, salvation, rock and strong tower. He is a lamp unto our feet to light the path when darkness appears and he lights up the darkness. He is light and in Him is no darkness at all. We can call on God when situations become too heavy for us to battle and he will deliver us also.

  34. 7 In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears.

    The psalmist explains how God hears when one calls and will answer. However, the key was his relationship with the Lord. He does explain how he did not depart from God nor from his statutes. How he kept his way and departed from sin and evil. When we have that kind of fear and relationship with God we can be sure that he will hear our prayers too.

  35. 2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
    3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

    King David has been through it all. The ups and downs of walking with Jesus. But through it all, King David constantly reminds himself and us of how God will deliver us, as long as we keep our faith and hope on Jesus. God is our only saviors and refuge in this evil world. God will deliver us from the hardships and we will be victorious. Don’t give up now! We are almost there brother and sister!

  36. Where do you stand?

    2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

    These times that we are living in are like the 3 little pigs. When the wolf comes and finds the house built cheaply or without the proper materials, it’s game over for the pig. We have to make sure that our foundation in steady in the rock Christ Jesus. If we build our lives upon Him we can stand on that rock in all types of situations. He is my rock upon which I stand.

  37. 2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;

    3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

    4 I will call on the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

    5 When the waves of death compassed me, the floods of ungodly men made me afraid;

    David looked back on the faithfulness of God and he writes the psalm. How often do we take the tome to look back and send up praise to God for delivering us from our enemies. I want to be intentional when it comes to my praise

  38. 33 God is my strength and power: and he maketh my way perfect.

    God is my everything. Whatever I need from him I know he can provide it. When I’m down, he lifts me up. When I’m sick, he’s the one that makes me well. No matter what your state is, God is able to bring you through.

  39. “In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried to my God: and he did hear my voice out of his temple, and my cry did enter into his ears. Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations of heaven moved and shook, because he was wroth.”
    ‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭22:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Oh, my God fights for me! I love how David illustrates the Lord coming on the scene to defend him, because I know He does the same for me. Our God is victorious, not wimpy, and He claims vengeance for Himself. So the next time we call on the name Jesus, I pray we recognize and get excited about the power in that name!

  40. 50 Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O Lord, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

    51 He is the tower of salvation for his king: and sheweth mercy to his anointed, unto David, and to his seed for evermore.

    He alone is worthy, Jesus is King. His mercy is new each day.

  41. “He rescued me from my powerful enemies, from those who hated me and were too strong for me.”(‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭22:18‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

    The Lord isn’t afraid of our story for he can turn it into for his glory. The word says (Matthew‬ ‭19:26‬ ‭KJV‬)“But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

  42. “For this, O Lord, I will praise you among the nations; I will sing praises to your name.”
    ‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭22:50‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    My faith is risen when I praise you. My countenance rides when I glorify your name!

  43. 2 And he said, The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;
    3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

  44. “I was also upright before him, and have kept myself from mine iniquity.

    Therefore the Lord hath recompensed me according to my righteousness; according to my cleanness in his eye sight.

    With the merciful thou wilt shew thyself merciful, and with the upright man thou wilt shew thyself upright.

    With the pure thou wilt shew thyself pure; and with the froward thou wilt shew thyself unsavoury.”
    ‭‭2 Samuel‬ ‭22:24-27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Some of us got it all wrong.
    Yes God is merciful but that doesn’t mean keep going back and sinning over and over again. Repentance means to turn away from sin and not return. That’s like being delivered from drugs and alcohol and going back to it every times he drivers you. He will deliver you but he’s not gonna deliver you from free choice and you making bad decisions.
    We have to be full of the Holy Ghost so we can be sensitive to his Spirit when making decisions

    Be grateful for his mercy and be grateful for his grace but don’t take advantage of it. Remember you will be judged for every action.
