Psalm 57

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

  7. To know God and to believe in Him is such a present that gives you the ability that no matter what difficult situation may come you just BELIEV IN GOD AND HE WILL SEE YOU THROUGH IT ALL. Cry unto the Lord at all time!! No matter what and witness His Wondrous works??? David always had great faith. He was God’s man after his own Heart. David was forgiven over and over He never gave up. Repentance is very important in our lives. Knowing that we have done wrong and come with a repentance heart and ask for forgiveness again knowing that Jesus will forgive us.

  8. Verses 7-10 MSG “I’m ready, God, so ready, ready from head to toe, Ready to sing, ready to raise a tune: “Wake up, soul! Wake up, harp! wake up, lute! Wake up, you sleepyhead sun!” I’m thanking you, God, out loud in the streets, singing your praises in town and country. The deeper your love, the higher it goes; every cloud is a flag to your faithfulness.” It is time to rise up, grow up, look up and cowboy up as there is no room for lies, deceit and/or chaos. I want to go higher and higher in the Lord.

Psalm 30:1-5 AMP “I will extol and praise You, O Lord, for You have lifted me up,
And have not let my enemies rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried to You for help, and You have healed me. O Lord, You have brought my life up from Sheol (the nether world, the place of the dead); You have kept me alive, so that I would not go down to the pit (grave). Sing to the Lord, O you His godly ones, And give thanks at the mention of His holy name. For His anger is but for a moment, [a]His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may endure for a night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.”

  9. Ps. 57:2 [ amp] I will cry to God Most High , Who performs on my behalf and rewards me . [ Who brings to pass His purposes for me and surely completes them.
Jeremiah 29:11 [ amp] For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you , says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
God has purpose and promise and a plan for everyone life.
May the fire of your altar never go out!
    In the name of Jesus.

  10. 6. They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

Don’t dig pits for others to fall into – you might end up in it yourself.

  11. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

If we hide ourselves in God when the circumstances arise and the enemy comes in like a flood, his divine favor for those that hide themselves in Him, that he will protect. No weapon formed against us will prosper. No matter where you are at, the presence of the Lord will be there. No matter who you are facing, the presence of the Lord is there. If our hope in Jesus will rise, our faith arises and we shall praise him in the midst of trouble, then we can praise him more and more. There should be no reason why we can not give ourselves completely to God. We have to remember that he is a rewarded of them that diligently seek him. So if we are willing to hide ourselves in the shadow of his wings we will find mercy and grace.

  12. We shall give thanks unto the lord for he is our everything. Our praise should continually be in our hearts and in our mouths. Praise him in trouble times and in good times. He is our strongtower

  13. 6 They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

It doesn’t matter where, the number of , what, when or why!!! ALL THAT MATTERS IS THAT WE WIN!!! NO MATTER WHAT THE WEAPON IS I WIN!!! I WIN!!!
    John 16:33
    King James Version
33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

    HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!

  14. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpass

7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise

There’s no safer place to take refuge than In the arms of Jesus. There is a security and a comfort knowing that God has our situations under control. While it is difficult to trust him at times. when you fall into a default and understanding that no matter how chaotic or scary your situation might be, that God will step in at the right time and cover you there is a sense of peace that passes all things. Our walk with God, I believe, will consistently be under pressure as we go deeper into our relationship with him, but it also grants us more security than anywhere else

  15. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭46:1‬ ‭
Thank you Lord for being my refuge.

  16. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
Psalms 57:1 To the chief Musician, Altaschith, Michtam of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave. Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

Wow, this verse confirms what I was pretty sure of. If you notice the beginning of this chapter (of the scripture I pasted above), you will notice David recalling his time in the cave. There are a couple things that are wow factor moments. One is in verse 4 “My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.” Think about that for a moment…Verse one reveals he is in the cave and verse 4 reveals his feelings towards the men he is leading. Remember, this men were not singers in the choir, they were outlaws. 1Sa 22:2 And every one that was in distress, and every one that was in debt, and every one that was discontented, gathered themselves unto him; and he became a captain over them: and there were with him about four hundred men.

So how did David transform these unruly men into great and mighty warriors…he sang to them. 😂 Psa 57:7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
Psa 57:8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

  17. Psalms 57
7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

I’ve come through the fire, I’ve come through the rain
But God, He never left my side
He’s my comfort through all hurt and pain

I am souled out, I am souled out

My heart is fixed, my mind’s made up
No room, no vacancies, I’m all filled up
His Spirit lives in me and that’s the reason I’m souled out

  18. Psalm 57

1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

3 He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

  19. 9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

Singing the Lord praises is always a mood changer! It one of the most uplifting things I do through out the day! Amen! Thank you Jesus hallelujah!

  20. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
I WILL YET PRAISE THE LORD

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.
10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

David reveals his purpose, reason and desire to PRAISE the LORD.

His DESIRE is to demonstrate or lead the people of all nations to PRAISE the LORD.

His REASON is because of the Mercy and Truth of JESUS.

His PURPOSE is to EXALT JESUS above trials and persecution

5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

May the WORD and SPIRIT of JESUS inspire us today to PRAISE the LORD with all of our HEART and EXALT HIM above all problems, challenges, doubts and fears.

  21. “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise. Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early. I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations. For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds. Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭57:7-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

My heart is established! My hope is in you alone. I will yet worship and give you praise! Great is your mercy and truth! Lord be forever exalted!

“This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
    ‭‭Lamentations‬ ‭3:21-23‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  22. 7 My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast and confident!
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises [to You]!
    8 Awake, my glory!
    Awake, harp and lyre!
    I will awaken the dawn.
    9 I will praise and give thanks to You, O Lord, among the people;
I will sing praises to You among the nations.
10 For Your faithfulness and lovingkindness are great, reaching to the heavens,
And Your truth to the clouds.
    11 Be exalted above the heavens, O God;
Let Your glory and majesty be over all the earth.

Even as David was on the run from Saul, he heart was stedfast. Out of our heart flows the issues of life, and if we have a “heart” problem, we are going to have “life” problems. We must ensure that our heart is pure, right, stedfast, and we know in whom we believe and why. There will be test and trials in this life, but we cannot be wishy washy, back and forth, believe one day, fear the next – we must be consistent, stedfast, always abounding in the knowledge that God is my refuge and strength, a very present help in time of trouble.

  23. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.
3 He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth his mercy and his truth.

My trust is in you Lord you are the maker of heaven and earth. I will always crying to you are the rock of my salvation.

  24. 2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

Cry out – Exalt – Praise. This chapter is a beautiful example of how to follow through from prayer to praise. Turn your eyes to Jesus, the God who can do all things, and cry out to Him. Then, acknowledge His greatness and exalt Him higher than whatever problem you may face. And finally, praise Him! Even if it hasn’t happened yet, praise Him! God is always on time and He will deliver you!

  25. “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭57:7, 9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

These verses here just make want to continue to sing praises unto the LORD 🙌❤️
Praise will always give you the victory over the adversary!
Praise Him ‘ more and more!’ You’ll always have ‘hope’ in the One and True living GOD and nothing else.

To praise Him, is your choice.
Will you drown in your dilemma?
Or will you change the way you perceive things?

“I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!””
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭91:2‬ ‭AMP‬‬

  26. 57:8 wake up my soul!
    Harps and lyres wake up.
    And let’s wake the dawn!
    ——-

Wake up! Wake, wake up, wake up!!!!
    Wake up
    Get dressed
    Be prepared
    And rejoice.
Praise him in the morning in the noontime even when the sun goes down…
    Hallelujah. For He is worthy.

  27. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

It’s the mighty God that we must turn to and not trust in the arm of the flesh. The flesh cannot be depended on especially when we are surrounded by the ungodly. He is our refuge in time of trouble and can make a way for us when we cant see the way.

  28. 7My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!

Always have confidence and faith in God. Without, you’ll be in despair, in trouble and discouraged. Everything you, do so with confidence. Don’t easily be discouraged by the enemy.

  29. Psalms 57:1 (AMP)
“Be gracious to me, O God, be gracious and merciful to me, For my soul finds shelter and safety in You, And in the shadow of Your wings I will take refuge and be confidently secure until destruction passes by.”

The title of this psalms tells us that it was written when David fled from Saul in the cave. Even thou David fled to a cave to hide from Saul, he knew that God was his true source of Shelter and Safety. He took Refuge and found Security in the shadow of HIS wings. In other words, he was Sheltered In The Arms Of JESUS!

So thankful, that during the tough times of my life, I too can find Shelter, Safety, Refuge, and Security in the shadow of HIS wings. I am Sheltered In The Arms Of JESUS!!

  30. “My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises! Wake up, my heart! Wake up, O lyre and harp! I will wake the dawn with my song. I will thank you, Lord, among all the people. I will sing your praises among the nations. For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭57:7-10 NLT.
Even in a dark cold Cave,David’s heart and song soared unto the clouds. He exalted the mercy and truth of God even from difficult circumstances. What are we doing in our circumstances, are we praising our way through it ,or we complaining our way through it.

  31. 4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

Even when it appears that our situation is hopeless, we need to continue our worship of the Lord.

  32. When I read the Bible I like to put myself in the shoes of the person talking and then the person it is addressed to and then anyone that my be there listening to what is said. When I do this it allows me to understand and feel more of what is being said and when you read vers 1 it says be merciful unto me oh Lord put yourself in God’s shoes. Here is a man (David) that is a man after your own heart loves your people and he is asking for your help to save him to have mercy on him and save him. It really brings to the surface of what God my be feeling and why he would step down and help David.

The same goes for us when we are in a hard place a uncomfortable situation call out to God and he will hear and help.
We have a leg up on David we are filled with the spirit of God we are his child so why wouldn’t he want to help us?

  33. I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me. He shall send from heaven, and save me from the reproach of him that would swallow me up. Selah God shall send forth his mercy and truth. My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword. Psalm 57:2-4

David was praying to God knowing that His grace would be upon him even with all the evil around. With God all things are possible! David knew to obey and love the Lord as we should today. God is are strength and refuge. I love you Lord.

  34. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

It’s in important that we always keep our focus on God and the things of God, such as the kingdom and his children that our out lost and dying in this world.
We should pray every day that our focus remains on him and that we don’t let the things of this world distract our focus from him.

  35. 7 My heart is confident in you, O God; my heart is confident. No wonder I can sing your praises!

10 For your unfailing love is as high as the heavens. You faithfulness reaches to the clouds. 11 Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens. May your glory shine over all the earth.
    Psalms 57:7 and 10-11 NLT

O Lord there is no doubt or fear in my mind when I think about what you have in store for me, for your ways will always be right and you know my future only you God. I’m confident in you Lord, you give me peace, love, strength, joy, there is nothing you can’t do for us. I know you are our savior you gave us life, saved us from our sins, saved us from our enemies. Let us keep our ways with the Lord let us obey him. Have trust in him give him all the praises and never stop even if your tired, because he gives his all for us, and all his never ending love.

  36. 6They have prepared a net for my steps; my soul is bowed down: they have digged a pit before me, into the midst whereof they are fallen themselves. Selah.

7My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

This reminds me of how Haman was ultimately hung on the gallows that he had made for Mordecai (Esther 7:10). The enemy may set traps and dig holes designed for us to fall in. However, when God is the director of our path then we will not stumble or fall. The wicked who built them will fall in their own trap. When our heart is fixed (vs 7) then it’s easy to follow God, for he is our refuge. When our mind is made up we can’t be lead astray. The world will fail us but Jesus never will. If in God is our confidence then praising Him is like air, it brings life into the body. Without God we would be nothing. Angels cannot sing with breath in their lungs but we can. Angels are designed to reflect Gods glory and obey Him. We have a choice. We can choose to praise and rejoice or try to tear others down. We should really be building each other up.

Haman was a wicked man that wanted to kill all the Jews, the enemy wants to wipe out anyone who claims Jesus as our Lord and Christ. The very trap he sets for us he will fall into himself. He will be chained away in the pits of hell for all eternity. He is in a hurry to claim all he can before Jesus’ return. We should reach out to others with the same zeal while their is still time so they can find their refuge in Jesus.

  37. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

Such an easy statement, but such a hard task.

Remember, even when everything is falling apart, and everyone is turning on you, IF your/ my heart is truly fixed, you/I will continue to praise Jesus.

  38. 9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

If we praise Him, He will give us power we will have
    victory.

    123 – Jacob’s Hernandez

  39. “I am surrounded by fierce lions who greedily devour human prey— whose teeth pierce like spears and arrows, and whose tongues cut like swords. Be exalted, O God, above the highest heavens! May your glory shine over all the earth. My enemies have set a trap for me. I am weary from distress. They have dug a deep pit in my path, but they themselves have fallen into it. Interlude”
    Psalms 57:4-6 NLT

My hope is in you Lord continuously, and I will praise you more and more. You Lord will cover us with a shield of victory from our enemies. You will make a way to escape from the hands of our enemies. I will exalt and magnify your Holy name for you are worthy of all praise.

  40. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.

11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

The shadow of the wings of God is the protection of His gentle love to us, tender love; and the shadow of the wings is the quickening, cordial solace that is combined with this protection. No one else can give you this protection, but only Jesus. I invited you to get under His protection of His shadow of his wings, wich is His love for you and me. Seek him today, don’t wait another day.

  41. 1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

2 I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.

No matter the calamity, the mayhem, the trials God will take care of our needs. He that performers all things.

  42. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

When a persons head is fixed on Jesus there is no room for doubt and fear to overtake them. There’s no room for sin to live and the devil to make residence. They live a life of a praiser and have a song in their heart. It’s time to fix our eyes on Him and allow Him to fill us full

  43. 10 For thy mercy is great unto the heavens, and thy truth unto the clouds.
11 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens: let thy glory be above all the earth.

God’s great mercy is infinite, unmeasurable. How beautiful and marvelous, to know that we serve a God who’s love and mercy for us is everlasting. People around us change for good or bad, but God remains faithful all the time. So let us give all of our praise and exalt the One who’s mercy is above all the heavens and earth.

  44. My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

9 I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.

And none of this things move me… when you have set your heart to God your soul can have rest or peace in Him. You know that He is for you. No matter what may come he is for you. When you can truly understand and capture that Gods love is greater than your circumstances then you can say like the psalmist my heart is fixed. When you heart is fixed on something nothing will move you.

  45. 7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.

My heart is fixed. My mind is made up. I’ve grown up apostolic all my life and have never been as sold out for Jesus as I am now.

The only people that knew I was a Christian were the people from church. Every thing changed for me the day I received the HG.

There’s something about feeling the presence of God that changes a man. That’s the day I remember I made up my mind. I remember making God the promise I would serve Him for he rest of my life, but it wasn’t until I felt Him that I knew my heart was FIXED. My mind was made up!

  46. This is our 2020 scripture

1 Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.

This is our prayer for 2020. God is in control of all these things. We will rest in his refuge till all this junk is behind us.

  47. “My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭57:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I pray our hearts are fixed on Jesus. Despite what is going on around us, I pray we keep our eyes on Christ. Don’t be discouraged, trust in Jesus and give Him praise. He always makes a way!

  48. 4 My soul is among lions: and I lie even among them that are set on fire, even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
5 Be thou exalted, O God, above the heavens; let thy glory be above all the earth.

I have always loved these few verses and the poetic nature of them. As he writes how he is living amount lions, insulating that everywhere he turns someone seeks to devour him, just waiting for the right moment. Then on to where he writes, “. . . even the sons of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.” There will always be those around you waiting to criticize you, bring you down, discourage you, and back bite. But we must exalt His name and lift Him up. For we know that that is where our strength comes from.

7 My heart is fixed, O God, my heart is fixed: I will sing and give praise.
8 Awake up, my glory; awake, psaltery and harp: I myself will awake early.

Lay aside all of the gossip and back biting and make sure our hearts are fixed on Him.
“My heart is fixed, my mind’s made up
No room, no vacancies, I’m all filled up
    His Spirit lives in me
And that’s the reason, I’m souled out
    Yes, yes, yes, yes
My heart is fixed, my mind’s made up
No room, no vacancies, I’m all filled up
    His Spirit lives in me
And that’s the reason, I’m souled out”

  49. “I will praise thee, O Lord, among the people: I will sing unto thee among the nations.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭57:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I will not be ashamed to praise the Lord wherever I may be whatever time of the day it might be I will continually lift him up. If people try to shame us for worshipping Jesus let them because my Bible says this.
“And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭5:41‬ ‭KJV‬‬
