Psalm 98

O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.

He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.

With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.

Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

  1. 2 The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.

The Lord is mysterious but his plan of salvation is not a mystery. The heathen have been given the opportuity to accept His righteousness. It is through giving praise by creating a new song that we express rejoicing for our new victories. Creating music in our praise adds a greater level of glory in our display of graditude.

  2. 1 O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

I woke up the other day singing “ I’m healed, I’m filled, and I’m thrilled! “ this was the last day of my quarantine. Thanks be to God we have a leader that will sing his song in front of all who will hear. You never know what your song can do for someone else. Although someone else’s song won’t and cannot take the place of your own, it can provoke someone to get up! So we sing out loud and we praise unashamed you never know who is listening.

  3. 6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.

7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

Rejoice to make a joyful noise the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is closer than ever rejoice. Yeah yeah!
Go Jesus go Jesus go go go Jesus go!

9 Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

  4. 1 O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

When I was younger, I used to take the first part of this psalm literally, As in we needed to constantly come up with a new song unto God. It seems silly to think that way because there are limited amount of words and notes that can be put together to form a song, until I looked at it for what it was. David was speaking of the concept of a new song, I believe. He wasn’t talking about brand new lyrics or unheard of notes being played out for the first time constantly but rather the meaning behind it. Keeping our relationship fresh and our worship constantly renewed. Living and loving God as we did whenever he first provided salvation. I am a very sentimental person by nature, for me, that just means thinking about where I was before Christ pulled me out and the things that I was into that he delivered me from. Singing a new song is just reminding myself why I’m living for God in the first place, because he is a God of my salvation.

  5. 4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

5 Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.

6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.

It’s time to make a joyful noise unto the Lord for all he has done. It is all about our praise that we give because of the blessings that he gives us. No matter the trials and tribulations that we go through, if we praise him more and more through it all. God will inhabit the praises of his people.

It’s time for the church to make a stand and not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We have to greatest opportunity to have the greatest revival that the end time church has ever seen. We will have to be ready for those that God will send us. But we have to show praise in all we do.

  6. Verses 1-3 CEV “Sing a new song to the Lord! He has worked miracles, and with his own powerful arm, he has won the victory.” My God worked and is still working miracles, thank you Jesus! Verse 2 “The Lord has shown the nations that he has the power to save and to bring justice.” My God has all power! And verse 3 “God has been faithful in his love for Israel, and his saving power is seen everywhere on earth.” Jesus loves you…..we just heard this message….thank you Pastor!

In the ESV version this Psalm is captioned “Make a Joyful Noise to the Lord”. Verse 4 says “Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break forth into joyous song and sing praises!” It is time for us to sing praises for God’s miracles, power and love. In the VOICE version the end of this verse says “…..Let your joy explode into song and praise”. Hallelujah…Hallelujah….HALLelujah……HALLELUJAH!!!

  7. Ps. 98 : 4-5 [ amp] Make a joyful noise to the Lord, all the earth; break fourth and sing for joy , yes, sing praises !
[5] Sing praises to the Lord with the lyre with the lyre and the voice of melody.
    Praise God for his truth
    Praise God for his righteous
Praise God for his love- kindness
    Praise God for his faithfulness
Lift him up and sing to the Lord a new song
Let everyone that has breath praise the Lord.
Come on Pofw praise him for Hungry Harvest of Souls that is coming !
Blow your trumpet the King is Coming, With a Roar!
Hallelujah, Hallelujah praise God for he is so good .

  8. “Sing a new song to the Lord, for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; his holy arm has shown his saving power!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭98:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The concept of the new song means there should be something fresh and dynamic about worship and the songs we sing to God.

  9. 2 The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.

4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.

7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

God didn’t hide salvation or righteousness from us, and we shouldn’t hide our praises to Him. Acts 26:26 says this thing was not done in a corner…joyful noise, trumpets, seas, floods…none of this is hidden or quiet.

    A NEW SONG

1 O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.

What is the foundation of a new song?

A marvelous thing the LORD has done.
His Right Hand or Authority demonstrated.
His Holy Arm working for us.
The VICTORY that HE gives us.

As we learn in trying times, it is often more convenient to look for the challenges we face rather than the Grace we receive. We are wise and more blessed to look for the good things of GOD and song of them rather than pick out the trials of life and moan of them.

Begin today to find a GOOD thing GOD does today for you, to you or around you.

4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

When we think of his goodness and what he’s done for us, it’s so easy to praise him. But even when things aren’t going your way, we can remember all he has done and encourage ourselves and still give him the praise due his name!

  21. Sing a new song to the Lord, for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; his holy arm has shown his saving power! The ends of the earth have seen the victory of our God.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭98:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

New believers sing a new song, very different from what they had sung; they change their wonder and change their joy, and therefore change their note.

  22. “O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen. “If creation sings Your praises, so will I.” How much more deserving is He of our praise? The angels and the earth have no choice but to praise the God of heaven and earth. But we have a choice, we have a life full of reasons why we should praise the Lord! He has blessed us beyond what we deserve – Thank You Jesus!

  25. Psalm 98 is praising our Lord. We must remember to PRAISE GOD and not just ask him for what we need. GOD is not Santa Claus. We must love and truly worship GOD.

  26. Psalms 98:4, “Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.”

“A Joyful Noise, A Loud Noise, Rejoice, Sing Praise”
We should never offer half-hearted praises to God. We should sing with everything we have in us. Why? Because He has done marvellous things; He hath made known His Salvation; and He is the LORD, the King!

    So…
Get to dancing, singing, jumping, leaping
Get to shouting, and make it loud, and make it glorious
    Start rejoicing, praising, lifting, raising
Get to shouting, and make it loud
And make His praise glorious, glorious

  27. Psalms 98
Sing to God a brand-new song.
He’s made a world of wonders!
    He rolled up his sleeves,
    He set things right.

“. The worship is connected to life experience of His marvelous things”

When I was a child we had what was called a testimony service. Many a song was sung during this time of worship. Songs that portrayed the goodness of God for what Hr had done.
When I think of the goodness of Jesus and all He has done for me . My soul cries out hallelujah praise God for saving me. Or Trouble in my way gotta cry some time it would end jubilant singing Jesus will fix it ! Not just words but heartfelt singing and yes many times a brand new song would come forth written from the depth of the life experience that God had just seen someone through. Sing to the Lord a new song something fresh expressing His goodness!
It’s there it’s time to sing a.new song or recall an old one and sing it from the depths of my soul ! I serve a risen Savior He lives He lives He walks with me and talks with me . Oh the meanings of those songs. Thank You Lord for they still live within in my heart.
Someone said to me the other day first I needed. Television they were sorry I didn’t have one . Someone else said I needed to turn the radio on because it was so quiet in my home. Now I have nothing against these boxes of info and entertainment yet I got to thinking too much distraction can drown out the new song God might just be trying to form in my life. Take an inventory how can you truly listen and hear if you don’t make the time to hear, How can you have a new song without a time of quiet for your soul? Try it turn off the noise tune in to God’s voice and listen for that new song . Amazing Grace Hoe sweet the Sound
When Peace Like a River and the list is endless …Lots flood my soul with a new song telling of Your goodness!

Sing to the Lord a new song His salvation is here He is worthy to be sung.about!

  28. 98: 1 sing unto thee Lord a new song

  29. he house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.

4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

5 Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.

7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

God creates everything with the purpose of returning praise to Him. If we do not fulfill that purpose someone else or something else will take our place. I must stay in my place. I must do my part. I must return praise unto my Savior!

  30. Psalm 98
1 O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.
2 The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.
3 He hath remembered his mercy and his truth toward the house of Israel: all the ends of the earth have seen the salvation of our God.
4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

What a way to start the morning off by this Psalm. Jesus has saved us and has placed us on the rock of truth. Jesus is coming back for a rebellious and head strong nation. This nation started by 12 brothers in Egypt grew to a size that the nation of Egypt was afraid of them so they enslaved them for years. God had a plan in which Moses was saved and allowed to be trained up in the palace and nurtured by his berth mother. He was taught that he was a son of Israel and at 40 years old he found himself in the wilderness for 40 years tending sheep. Sent back to Egypt at the to lead Israel out of bondage. They were given the promised land and a cancer of rebellion set in and they Lost their Land and God gave the Nation of Israel a new birth and a place called home in 1948. Now a new thing is about to happen after we are raptured we will come with Jesus to Israel and Jesus will defeat the troops at Armageddon and the house of Israel will be redeemed and the millennium will begin. How wonderful is that Jesus died on a cross for all men. He did not forget His people and the twelve tribes are one again together. I praise his Name and rejoice in that which soon will transpire. Amen Amen Amen

  31. iLove the Kingdom
Psa 98:7 Let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.
Psa 98:8 Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together

Wait a minute…Seriously, think about it…Read those two verses right there. The Word says “let the sea roar…then it says “let the floods clap their hands…” Now tell me why folks build their fancy houses near rivers and oceans. Why do folks blame God when the flood comes or the storm comes and tears up their property. Doesn’t the Bible also teach us not to build our house on the sand? Come on y’all who blame God, blame yourselves for not listening in the first place.

  32. 1 Sing a new song to the Lord, for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory; his holy arm has shown his his saving power!
4 Shout to the Lord, all the earth; break out in praise and and sing for joy!
    Psalms 98:1 and 4 NLT

Shout unto God with the voice of triumph, shout unto God with the voice of praise! There is nothing he can’t do for us, for he is the King of Kings, Lord of Lords. He is our father our creator the one who saved us. Give praise and worship unto the Lord for he is good, he fulfills his promises, he protects us and guides us. Keep your eyes up on him let him teach you his ways so we can teach them to others, let us show with him there’s victory and joy.

  33. 4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

My qualifications for how well I sing, a joyful noise.

All joking aside, Jesus is so worthy of praise, yet many times not only the world, but also the church, would rather sing their own praises.

  34. Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

We were created to worship Him. Let us daily make a joyful noise unto the Lord with a glad heart. There should always be a song in our hearts to minister unto the King of kings.

  35. “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.”
    Psalms 98:4 KJV

We will shout with the voice of triumph for the Lord is worthy . We will rejoice because you are our provider, our healer, our Savior, our deliverer, and our protector. And our mouth shall forever sing praises to the Lord daily because He is Worthy.

  36. “O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭98:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This chapter made me question what I expect from God. He is the one true living God and His name, Jesus, holds more power than we could ever imagine. I’m expecting Him to do marvelous things. I’m expecting Him to do signs and wonders and divers miracles. I’m expecting Him to fight my every battle knowing He has already made a way of escape. I’m expecting Him to create many ‘but God’ experiences!

I thank God that He is the way, the truth, and the life. I pray we have unrestricted revival and take the limits off of God in our lives

  37. Psalms 98:1,3,6
Sing a new song to the lord,   for he has done wonderful deeds. His right hand has won a mighty victory;  his holy arm has shown his saving power!
    Praise the Lord
    Thank you Jesus

  38. 4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.

5 Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.

6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.

I never heard of a silent praise. When you think of praise what comes to mind? I picture clapping like when a performer nails the masterpiece. I see explicit and well heard compliments, I see thanks giving and cheers, loud demonstrations of jubilation as in the obtaining the victory. The thing is, that if you want to be heard you gotta make some noise. God likes for his to praise. You dont want to wait till the end and then the Lord not know you. He never heard your voice. Reasons why we should praise Him are countless. So let God head you, make his praise Glorious!!

  39. 5 Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
6 With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.

Sounds of joyful noise is what the Lord our God wants from us. Songs to be sung by you and I, songs of His greatness and thankfulness. Every day that we have breath is a gift from the Lord. For that we shall sing and make it loud for all to hear, especially God.

  40. “Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise. Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm. With trumpets and sound of cornet make a joyful noise before the Lord, the King.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭98:4-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/1/psa.98.4-6.kjv
When we sing praises play music for the Lord it’s for him and no one else when we sing praises and give him glory his presence is known and you welcome his presents it’s all for his glory

  41. 4 Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise.
5 Sing unto the Lord with the harp; with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.

One of my most favorite choir songs:
    We’ve come to praise Him
    We’ve come to praise Him
    We’ve come to praise Him
    And bless His holy Name
    Make a joyful noise
    Unto the Lord
    Make a joyful noise
    Unto the Lord
You ought to praise the Lord
    While you have the chance
    You ought to praise Him
    You ought to praise Him
    You ought to praise Him
    And lift His holy Name
    Make a joyful noise
    Unto the Lord
    Make a joyful noise
    Unto the Lord
    I’m gonna praise the Lord
    While I have the chance

9 Before the Lord; for he cometh to judge the earth: with righteousness shall he judge the world, and the people with equity.

  42. 2The LORD has announced his victory and has revealed his righteousness to every nation!

If you know the victory, now go celebrate. You know the outcome in advanced, have joy and peace. Don’t worry about the daily things of life, you have the victory!

  43. “The Lord hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭98:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is so gracious to us. He gave us salvation. He shows us the path and the way to heaven even when we are still in sin. His righteousness leads us. He is mighty to save. His mercy endures forever!
