1 Chronicles 22

Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.

And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;

Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the Lord must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the Lord God of Israel.

And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God:

But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.

10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

11 Now, my son, the Lord be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the Lord thy God, as he hath said of thee.

12 Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God.

13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the Lord an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.

15 Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.

16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the Lord be with thee.

17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

18 Is not the Lord your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the Lord, and before his people.

19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

  1. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

David made provisions for the building of the temple. The house of God and he made sure his son Solomon was aware of what need it to be done. In this verse, David again gives His secret to a close relationship with God. He explains to Solomon that he need to set his MIND and SOUL when he seeks God. Is not enough to look for Him physically, by going to church or opening the Bible, he needs to dig DEEP with His Heart and soul, He needs to put his ALL. He tells Solomon how to be a man after God’s own heart. Thank you Jesus for teaching us that even in our deathbed we can contribute to the future of the Kingdom by leaving arrangements to be done. For showing us that we need to teach our youth to take over. In Jesus Name Amen

  2. 8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.

10 He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.

The house of God was to be built. David began preparing for it even though God had told him that he would not be the one having it built. Because of the blood that shed by David in the battles against all his enemies. David has long sense designed the temple therefore getting prepared the material and finances to have it ready for when Solomon would be the one as the Lord spoke.

As the Lord chose the son of David named Solomon as commanded by God, He would be the king of rest. God gave Solomon wisdom and knowledge to do the commandments of his word and He was blessed with great power and wealth. There was a great legacy left by David as began to prepare before his death. He wanted to pass on the knowledge of God to his son and told Solomon be obedient to the teachings of Moses and do as he was taught toward God.

So thankful for those that came before us that lived such a powerful testimony to leave such a heritage for us to follow. Being in church is not a chore it is a privilege to serve God. I find that we have to do what we have been taught in order to achieve a great relationship with the king of kings and lord of lords. We have to heed his word to the very end of this journey and be ready for the coming of God.

  3. 14 Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the Lord an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.

15 Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.

16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the Lord be with thee.

David told Solomon about all the troubles he had taken to prepare materials and workmen for the task. He ended with advice that all Christians would do well to heed: “ Arise and begin working and the Lord be with you.” Amen!

  4. Verses 17-19 MSG “David gave orders to all of Israel’s leaders to help his son Solomon, saying, “Isn’t it obvious that your God is present with you; that he has given you peaceful relations with everyone around? My part in this was to put down the enemies, subdue the land to God and his people; your part is to give yourselves, heart and soul, to praying to your God. So get moving—build the sacred house of worship to God! Then bring the Chest of the Covenant of God and all the holy furnishings for the worship of God into the sanctuary built in honor of God.” Everyone has a place or part in the kingdom; but, it all requires preparation. In the VOICE version verse 19 says “Now prepare yourself mentally and emotionally to follow the Eternal One your God. Go and build the temple of the Eternal God, so you may bring the covenant chest of the Eternal to rest there and take the holy vessels of God into His house for us to use in sacrifice.” Same verse AMP “Now set your heart and your soul to seek (inquire of, require as your vital necessity) the Lord your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the Lord God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord and the holy articles and utensils of God into the house built for the Name (Presence) of the Lord.”

  5. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

Hard spot to he in….. Knowing that he was about to die……he didn’t get mad at GOD or be bitter , nor did he through a pity party instead he took responsibility and prepared for the kingdom of GOD to be furthered in his absence!!! GOD IS GOOD ALL THE TIME!!!

  6. 16 Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. ARISE therefore, and be doing, and the Lord be with thee.

19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; ARISE therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

It’s time for the sleeping giant, the People of God to ARISE and be working for the Kingdom.

  7. 1 Chron. 22 :17 -18 [ amp] David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Soloman his son , saying.
[18] Is not the Lord your God with you? And had He not given you peace on every side? For He has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land is subdued before the Lord and His people.
David was on a mission to build the sanctuary of the Lord God.
I have to get my mind and heart ready for a mission For God.
We all have a mission and a purpose to serve God.
Thank you Jesus for your mission.

  8. 13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

We must always uphold our end by staying faithful to the Lord and following what His Word commands. If we do those things, we will always have the Lord’s favor. With that promise, we should never fear or worry what is to come!

  9. God is so good. We should be faithful to his word and be in preparation for his coming all the time. We are told to educate nonbelievers of Jesus and tell them the time is now to get our selves prepared to be with the Lord. If it be building a church, feeding hungry people, visiting the sick and most of all spreading the gospel we must stay close to God so we can hear his voice of direction.

  10. iLove the Kingdom
1Ch 22:9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.

Wow, I just caught this for the first time. Solomon was destined to be the king of peace. God said he would bring peace in the days of Solomon and he did. Well, Jesus is the Prince of Peace. Jesus is the fulfillment of these prophecies to Solomon. That’s a pretty cool revelation.

  11. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

It was important to David that a temple be built to worship the Lord God and to seek Him with all their heart and soul.

  12. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord. I cannot think of any better advice passed down from a predecessor. To dedicate something as magnificent as building a sanctuary of God to a successor and then lead them with all the supplies that they need. Even though David had made his mistakes God still brought about a mighty king from Bathsheba. David advice is something we should all follow, to encourage one another to seek the Lord and have our hearts set on him, while setting up our generation to follow us with all of their supplies that they need

  13. “Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭22:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is the house of the Lord God. I believe David said that with authority. Our body is the temple of the Holy Ghost aka the house of the Lord God. We need to make sure we watch what we feed into it, meaning what we listen to, what we watch, where we allow ourselves to go, and yes what we eat! I thank God we were all bought with a price. I pray we glorify God in body and in spirit.

  14. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    MY HEART IS SET

19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

We witness a transfer of the mantle. David has the VISION but not the Permission, rather than allow the DREAM to die with him. David transfers it to his son. Solomon is burdened with the decision to accept and fulfill the VISION of his father or just simply do his own thing as King.

But the prophecy came with promise, provision and production. David passionately charged Solomon to set his heart and soul to seek the Lord. David knew the commitment required to execute the building of the house of GOD.

We are wise to apply the same call and approach to building our lives for JESUS. We must confess and commission ourselves to SET OUR HEART and SOUL to Seek the LORD. We are not charged to build a magnificent physical building, but a magnificent spiritual building.

1Corinthians 6:19 What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

JESUS confirms this spiritual charge in:

Matthew 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Lets choose today to SET OUR HEART to seek GOD First.

  15. In this chapter David had a son named Solomon who also had a son named Solomon. David said to his son that he was going to have a son who would one day build a house for him. We are called to do his work as he says.

  16. god said his son should build a altar and how allso he said he gave enough to him and I learned that when you give a lot to Jesus he will always be there for you

  17. “David said, “My son Solomon is young. He’s never done anything like this before. The house that will be built for the Lord should be very grand and wonderful. It should be famous and beautiful in the eyes of all of the nations. I’ll get things ready for it.” So David got many things ready before he died.”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭22:5‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

King David was a great leader. He had a great vision. And in this passage of scripture we see a man on a mission. He is preparing for his successor. A great leader will always train and equip his successor. And with each leader should come greater victories.

  18. 6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the Lord God of Israel.

7 And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the Lord my God:

8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

David’s sin caused Him not to be able to fulfill one of his greatest desires. Yet, he did not give up he passed it on. Oh if we would all have this same tenacity and not allow the great things of God that we desire to happen fall to the wayside. Let us find someone to pass kingdom work to. Let us live for God with such desire and passion that others desire to take the mantel and accomplish all God has.

  19. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

Daily we should seek after Him and set our heart, mind and soul on the things of God … Daily! We should access our altar and make corrections to it, upkeep and maintain it. Whether we know it or not, the world/sinners are watching every move that we make, especially in the chaos surrounding us! Wish men build their altars upon the Rock while others place their altars on sinking sand. Lord, help me to maintain my altar, let my tears keep my altar conditioned .. there’s an old song that says “when the wood(altar) is wet, the fire will fall” ….

  20. I learned in this chapter that David was talking to God and God said you’re going to have a son named Solomon and he’s going to go over this kingdom he’s going to be my son and he’s and he’s going to think God is his father that’s why I learned.

  21. “Now, my son, the Lord be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the Lord thy God, as he hath said of thee. Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God. Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭22:11-13‬ ‭KJV

To only partake of the plan and RESOURCES, not being able to see the completion of the temple of the LORD.
Our way of living, doing what we desire. Not living fully in obedience to the word of GOD will always effect your spiritual being. It’s like I can ‘see and know’ that the kingdom of GOD is here, and cannot enter it.

‘Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice…’

  22. 8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

I’m sure it was the Lord the placed the desire in David’s heart to build the Magnifical sanctuary to bring the ark of the Lord home to rest. However, David’s actions prevented this from happening, so he had to do the second best prepare all the materials for Solomon to build the temple.

God has purpose and plans for each of us, however our actions sometimes prevent that plan from coming to pass. If our “actions” as an Apostolic does more harm than good because we are always judging people, offending them with our words or deeds, doing things that challenges our integrity, then we cannot lead people to the Savior because they can’t get past what we say and do, or how we say and do it.

Love and compassion must be evident in everything we do. If everything is always about us, or done for our benefit, we must crucify our old man, and become more like Christ. His attributes and actions must be what people see in us.

  23. 1 Chronicles 22

1 Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

2 And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.

    3 And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;

4 Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.

5 And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the Lord must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.

  24. Thank you Jesus Christ for today, thy kingdom come thy will be done . He’s great and mighty he sets a standard against the enemy in Jesus name

For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the Lord gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart! Now seek the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. Build the sanctuary of the Lord God so that you can bring the Ark of the Lord ’s Covenant and the holy vessels of God into the Temple built to honor the Lord ’s name.”
    1 Chronicles 22:13‭, ‬

  25. 19 “Now seek the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. Build the sanctuary of the Lord God so that you can bring the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant and the holy vessels of God into the Temple built to honor the Lord’s name.”

Using inspiration from our own Pastor I searched the difference in the Strongs concordance of “heart” and “soul” used in this particular verse.

    Heart: 3824. lebab
Definition: inner man, mind, will, heart

    Soul: 5315. nephesh
Definition: a soul, living being, life, self, person, desire, passion, appetite, emotion

Around Valentines the stores will be covered in colors of red and pink. The shelves filled with heart shaped food, items, and upon the apparel. Numerous songs mention heart in reference to love, as well as many terms of endearment include “heart” as a description of love. It is clear to say, that today the word “heart” is an association with love.

The definition of “inner man” and “will” for the heart would seem as if we are defining “soul”, and that I have confused the two. But not so, I believe that with heart or love, it is a constant choice. Choosing with your mind to love someone with all your “heart”. While “soul” is based on desire and passion, making you be the person you are today.

We choose to love, and we can even choose to say we love but never act as so. Yet, through life circumstance and events, we are each molded into the person we are today. We can see our passions and desires out loud, through the choices we make.

I believe the scripture says to seek with your heart and soul, cause it will take all of your heart minded choices to make decisions out of LOVE for Jesus. Through making such choices will mold your soul into desiring things of the Kingdom, having a passion for the things He has a passion for.

  26. 12 Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God.
13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

We know the story of Soloman’s life and these verses, among others, are the best advice his dad gave him. It the best advice for us today too-taking heed of the commandments of the Lord, being strong and having our hope in Him.

  27. 1 Chronicles 22:15-17 & 19 (AMP)
    15) Further, you have workmen in abundance: stonecutters and stonemasons and carpenters, and all men who are skillful in every kind of work.
    16) As for gold, the silver, the bronze, and the iron, there is no limit. So arise and begin working, and may the LORD be with you.
    17) David also commanded all the leaders of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

    19) Now set your heart and your soul to seek (inquire of, require as your vital necessity) the LORD your God. Arise and build the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy articles and utensils of God into the house built for the Name (Presence) of the LORD.

“Arise And Begin Working, Arise And Build”
The first thing we must do is “Set Our Heart And Soul To Seek The LORD Our God.” We must “Set Our Heart And Soul To Seek The Kingdom Of God First.”
Then it’s going to take ALLLLLLL of us “Rising Up and Working Together to Build the Kingdom of God.” (There was Solomon, the leaders of Israel, and men who were skilled in every kind of work — stonecutters, stonemasons, carpenters, etc…). At POFW there is Pastor Watts/Sis.Watts, Ministers, Leaders and men/women skilled in every kind of work — praise singers, muscians, Bible Study teachers, Sunday school teachers, welcome staff, door greeters, attendance takers, bus and van drivers, cleaners, mowers, weed pullers, etc…

So POFW, it’s time to ARISE (Get Up) and GO start WORKING Together to BUILD the KINGDOM OF GOD!!

  28. 22:now see your heart and your soul to seek thee lord your God
Arise therefore and build ye the Sanctuary of the lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the lord
And the Holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be build to the name of the Lord.

Plenty of supply, iron, wood, stone s.. everything
Solomon might need. Nails, all types of tools and workers.
Ok, all of this to bullied something magnificent
Holy, a place, a sanctuary for Where God can dwell.

Well, now, we are the temple of God, And he has given us His Holy Ghost.
And everlasting provisión until we meet with him.
👉🏼Love, joy, peace patience kindness goodness self control, strength, council, guidance, revelation, holiness

  29. 18 Is not the Lord your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the Lord, and before his people.

19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

Does he not provide rest for your soul? We being his church and he that abides in us? We are the church and we work everyday on ourselves, preparing his alter in us. When we grow tired and feel like our emotions and physical efforts are wore thin, as long as we have built our alter and place God in hearts we will find rest! In the mean time prepare him a place and work hard doing it!

  30. Now seek the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. Build the sanctuary of the Lord God so that you can bring the Ark of the Lord ’s Covenant and the holy vessels of God into the Temple built to honor the Lord ’s name.”
    1 Chronicles 22:19 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/1ch.22.19.NLT

My God My God!!! This is so powerful, Lord!! I feel we have a similar responsibility in our own homes. We may not have peace in this world but our homes and our hearts and minds there can be peace. We can uphold His statues in our hearts. We can give deep reverence to God and not inhibit His Presence in our homes.

  31. 1 Chronicles Chapter 22
13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

In time of testing be strong and of good courage. Coved 19 will not stop the work of the Lord. This life is not a sprint but a steady race to the Goal. That is eternal life with Jesus Christ. We do not walk this race alone but side by side with each other. With the help of Jesus and His word and the influence of His spirit in us cheering us on and clearing out most of the pit falls. It is in the hazards that strength is given because we are overcomers in Jesus. Solomon did not build a Tempol by himself he had a team.
The task set be fore Pastor Watts is not to accomplished by himself alone but by a team working in the field bringing others to the truth of the Gospel and creating an inviting place to seek shelter, worship, and hear the word of truth declared. We are Jesus’s hands and feet let us be about his work.

  32. 2So David gave orders to call together the foreigners living in Israel, and he assigned them the task of preparing finished stone for building the Temple of God.

Any projects we do, we have to prepare for it. If there is no preparation, you can’t expect the project, event, ceremony, etc to be a success. In being prepared, we are able to set games, tables, schedules and reach out to people about God. So lets stay in a ready position, and make Western Day a success.

  33. “Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.”
    1 Chronicles 22:19 KJV

If we truly want a relationship with the Lord our God. Let God move your life and let there be a desire of wanting more of God. As we set our heart and soul to seek more of God. Let us build an altar of praise and worship where we can run to and give God all the glory. Don’t give into the lies of this world for worldly treasures well soon fade away, but stick to one that created you and that loves you. His name is Jesus! Love Jesus, and keep His commandments, for God’s word is forever. Jesus will never fail you.

  34. 8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

It is good to want help the Lord’s work. We should be careful in appointing ourself to the task because thoes that are called will do a better work.

  35. 12 Only the Lord give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the Lord thy God.
13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

God is the giver of wisdom and understanding. We must follow his laws so that we may prosper and have a relationship with God that we may understand.

  36. “Now set your heart and soul to seek the Lord you God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built in the name of the Lord”. 1 ch 22:19
It was very important to David to build a temple for our Lord even though he knew he was not actually going to the one to build it. He loved GOD so much that he knew this needed to be done.

  37. “Then David sent for his son Solomon and instructed him to build a Temple for the Lord, the God of Israel. “My son, I wanted to build a Temple to honor the name of the Lord my God,” David told him. “But the Lord said to me, ‘You have killed many men in the battles you have fought. And since you have shed so much blood in my sight, you will not be the one to build a Temple to honor my name. But you will have a son who will be a man of peace. I will give him peace with his enemies in all the surrounding lands. His name will be Solomon, and I will give peace and quiet to Israel during his reign. He is the one who will build a Temple to honor my name. He will be my son, and I will be his father. And I will secure the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’”
    ‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭22:6-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
It wasn’t that David’s wars were wrong or ungodly, or that the blood he shed was unrighteous. It was that God wanted His house built from the context of peace and rest and victory; He wanted it to be built after and from the victory, not from the midst of struggle.

  38. 1 Then David said, This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.

Keeping our altars ready and burning at all times should always remain a priority in our lives every single day, if we leave our altar unattended then our fire for god and the things of god will weaken and eventually die and we should never let ourselves spiritually die but yet burn brighter and brighter each day for god and his kingdom.

  39. 13 Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the Lord charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.

    In Jesus name

    Be bold, be strong
For the Lord your God is with you
    Be bold, be strong
For the Lord your God is with you
    Do not be afraid
    Do not dismayed
Because walking in faith and victory
For the Lord your God is with thee.

  40. 19 Now seek the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. Build the sanctuary of the Lord God so that you can bring the Ark of the Lords Covenant and the holy vessels of God into the Temple built to honor the Lords name.
    1 Chronicles 22:19 NLT

We have a choice to live for God or not, we have a choice to make our relationship with God stronger or not. As the children of the Lord we should each want to grow more in God, to learn from him, to be with him, to be taught and guided by the Lord. Let us keep a time during our day just for the Lord, even if you have to move things around there should always be a time in your day with just you and the Lord. Let us give all the praises and thanks unto the Lord, for he brings light and salvation. The Lord give us strength daily, never let the fire of the altar burn out let it get stronger.

  41. I Chronicles 22:19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the Lord God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

Psalm 27:4 One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty(delightfulness) of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple.

I will seek the Lord and do His will.

  42. 18 Is not the Lord your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the Lord, and before his people.

19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

How is your temple? David instructs the men to prepare and build the sanctuary of the Lord God to bring the ark of the covenant, which represents the presence of God, and the holy vessels of God. This reminds me of the words of Paul on to the Romans.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
    Romans 12:1 KJV

We are the temple of the Holy Spirit. So how are we taking care of the temple? We see that David and his men prepared to bring the best of the best to have a dwelling place for the Lord. How are we preparing for God? What things are we allowing or not allowing that may make room to the Lord. We know that he will not cohabit with sin. So the first step is to clean by repenting, being baptized in Jesus name to wash away our sins and then we make room for the Holy Spirit. However we must be diligent in keeping our temple. We must be determined about it and yes keeping or maintaining anything takes work. But you and I decide what effort we make, what we allow how we prepare.

  43. 1 Chronicles 22:13
For you will be successful if you carefully obey the decrees and regulations that the lord gave to Israel through Moses. Be strong and courageous; do not be afraid or lose heart!

    Blessings come from obedience.

    Luke 11:28
Jesus replied, “But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice.”

  44. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

This verse speaks volumes even in today’s world to us as well! We need to set our heart, soul, and sights on the Lord our God, and build a sanctuary for Him. “. . . build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod. . . “ That sanctuary would be within each of our own hearts. “. . . to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord,. . . “. Bringing the ark of the covenant would be our own covenants we have made in prayer and hiding them in our hearts. “. . . and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built. . . “ There again those holy vessels of our daily bible reading being his in our hearts as well. Can you make a a lid and be able to check all of these off??

  45. We ask God to forgive us and he does—— Bella

19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

We must remember that our hearts are to be towards Jesus.

  46. 8 But the word of the Lord came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.

9 Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.

  47. Your biggest fan

17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,

David was Solomon’s biggest fan. David not only cheered Solomon on but he invested all his trust and that of everyone who followed him as king into his son Solomon. This biblical example shows us the magnitude of what our influence does as parents. We have to always remain our children’s biggest fans while also being the tough coach that they don’t like sometimes.

  48. The Lords will will always be performed. We know David was a man after Gods own heart but his son was the one appointed to build the tabernacle for the Lord. We can never take for granted the anointing that we have. When we’re sensitive to the Spirit we know when Gods saying hey you’re not to do this but someone close to you is. That’s their blessing. To say David wasn’t used by God would be ignorant but to say he was sensitive to God would be right. Solomon has blessings before him and only God knows what’s in store

  49. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God;

I love this statement, for once I became a true Christian, and had my eyes opened and my heart changed, I have felt a peaceful joy. I was an angry man, and I had no idea, how much of my time was wasted feeling mean. I wasted so many years of my life, but once I began to seek the Lord, he comforts me, he brings me peace, he brings me joy, he brings me patience, he has changed me so much, that I look forward to praising him for eternity. Thank you Jesus, for being so patient, and kind to your humble servant. Praise be to you, my savior.

  50. 19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek the Lord your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LordGod, to bring the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the Lord.

Where is your heart set upon? On this world or on God? This very moment that we are living in. Is where God sees, where your heart is set upon. Don’t let your altar burn out because of what is going around you! But arise and built your altar stronger than ever and be a vessel of God, for all those who are living in fear.
