Psalm 110

The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.

He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

  1. “The Lord is at your right side, and when he gets angry he will crush the other kings.

He will drink from any stream that he chooses, while winning victory after victory.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭110:5, 7‬ ‭CEV

How many times have we felt unsure of the battles we’re facing. Then we are reminded that the battle is not mine, but the LORD’s. He fights my every battle! Our breakthrough and strength comes from Him.

So in your praise the VICTORY is yours.

  2. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

So many times David has made some profound statements while penning the psalms. Here we see that as the King he would sit at the right hand until God almighty would take his enemies and make them His footstool. We have to realize like David, we have the privilege to sit in the glory of God and that our enemies will be made our footstools because of the power of God. If we would praise and worship him like we ought to, and place all our trust in his power and might, he will deliver us through every situation and circumstance. Without God we are merely a simple creation without hope. We are nothing more than the vessel that can be so much more when we place God first above all things. It’s time we take our place in the kingdom of God and see the power of God deliver us through every situation.

  3. Psalm 110

1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.

7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

  4. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

It is not that we are entitled to anything special and it’s not that we’re allowed to roam free and cause issues and God will clean up our mess but we are heirs of the throne and the Lord will take our side as we walk with him

  5. Psalms 110:1 & 4
    1) THE LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
    4) The LORD hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

These scriptures made me think of other scriptures found in the New Testament.
    Acts 2:30-36
    30) Therefore being a prophet and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
    31) He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption.
    32) This same JESUS hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses.
    33) Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
    34) For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
    35) Until I make thy foes thy footstool.
    36) Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same JESUS, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Hebrews 6:20, Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even JESUS, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

    Hebrews 7:15-22 & 24-25
    15) And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
    16) Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
    17) For he testifieth, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.
    18) For there is verily a disannuling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
    19) For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.
    20) And inasmuch as not without an oath he was made priest.
    21) (For those priests were made without an oath; but this with an oath by him that said into him, The Lord sware and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec;)
    22) By so much was JESUS made a surety of a better testament.

    24) But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.
    25) Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.

Know assuredly that JESUS is both Lord and Christ.
JESUS is the great High Priest.
Thank You JESUS that You are able to Save us to the uttermost.
JESUS Today YOU will SAVE Me!!

  6. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
I learned something new this morning. I didn’t realize this Psalm was most quoted from the new. I’m going to paste the following from a commentary. Hope y’all enjoy!

    Psalms 110:1-7

OUR PRIEST-KING AT GOD’S RIGHT HAND

Luther describes this psalm as “the true, high, main psalm of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ.” Our Lord attributed it to David, in the power of the Holy Spirit; and there is no portion of the Old Testament more frequently quoted in the New. See Mat 22:44; 1Co 15:25; Heb 1:3; Heb 1:13; Heb 5:6; Heb 5:10; Heb 7:17; Heb 7:21. David speaks of the Messiah as my Lord. The inference as to the deity of our Lord is incontestable. His mighty scepter, the symbol of his rule, reaches from Son to the utmost limits of space and time. He waits till all his enemies are His footstool. Their character is evident in their attire-the beauties of holiness. They are as numerous and refreshing as dewdrops on parched meadows. There is an infinite attractiveness between our Savior and young life-thy youth.

The offices of priest and king were jealously kept apart in the old Hebrew monarchy, so the psalmist has to travel into the childhood of the world to find the type of a priesthood. Jesus is King and Priest after a more ancient and abiding order, which, it is testified, is based on a timeless life. Our Lord shall come to the throne from the battlefield. He shall bruise the serpent’s head, but He needs the refreshment of our love and faith. That is the wayside brook.

  7. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

When the Lord is with us we are able to trample our enemy. He sets us above our transgressions.

  8. I love POFW! I feel confident with Jesus as my king. I cant go wrong with Jesus as my Lord and savior. Jesus is like our body guard. I will never leave him!

  9. 5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

We can see from the scripture that the free will given to man has caused trouble to the believers, and unbelievers can have prosperity. However, what needs to be focused on is that the Lord sees the end from the begining and judgement day is coming for all.

  10. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

Lord You reign in victory and I know You will always lead us to victory, all for Your glory!

  11. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

No matter what enemy comes against you, God can give you dominion so you can rise above them.

  12. 5 The Lord stands at your right hand to protect you. He will strike down many kings when his anger erupts.
7 But he himself will be refreshed from brooks along the way. He will be victorious.
    Psalms 110:5 and 7 NLT

O Lord, all my battles are your battles. There has never been a time where I looked up to you in my darkest time and you didn’t stretch forth your hand to me. Let us focus our life’s on living for God and worshiping him, let him guide you in his path keep your mind and spirit on him because no matter what with the Lord there will always be joy and victory!

  13. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    SIT FOR VICTORY

1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

The Kingdom of GOD is filled with great diversity, strategy and authority. The psalmist here presents another path to VICTORY.

SIT. Most of us like to SIT, but not in times of adversity. However the LORD has made a place for us to SIT at the RIGHT HAND (authority) of GOD.

To SIT requires patience and faith. Our lives would be more PEACE filled and less chaotic if we would follow the direction of the Spirit of GOD and know when to SIT and watch GOD turn our enemies into footstools.

  14. Ps.110 : 1 [ The Lord ( God ) says to my Lord ( the Messiah) , Sit at My right hand, until I make Your adversaries Your footstool.
Matt. 26:64 [ amp] Jesus said to him, You have stated [ the fact] More than that , I tell you: You will in the future see the Son of Man seated at the right hand of the Almighty and coming on the clouds of the sky.
No matter what comes toward us !
God is right here for us.
    Thank you Jesus!

  15. 4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.

5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.

The name Melchizedek means “king and god” in this reference Melchizedek was a Canaanite king to which Abram paid his tithe to. Here the psalmist makes reference to the one to come that can be both king and God which is the Messiah Jesus Christ. When judgement day comes there will be piles of dead bodies, spiritual death, which is worst than flesh death. Lord help us stay alive in your truth. Help us understand that to lose our lives for your sake is a gain. In Jesus Name Amen

  16. Amp – 3 Your people will offer themselves willingly [to participate in Your battle] in the day of Your power; In the splendor of holiness, from the womb of the dawn,

God wants us to give ourselves to Him of a willing heart, not grudgingly do for Him. If we grudgingly serve God and work in His kingdom, we need to visit the altar, Renew in the Holy Ghost and renew our relationship with God. Living and serving God is not and should not be grievous .

  17. “GOD gave his word and he won’t take it back: you’re the permanent priest, the Melchizedek priest.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭110:4 ‭MSG‬‬

God opens doors no man can shut. If He has given us a promise, it will come to pass. He is a faithful God and His Word is true. I thank God He is always working. I pray we bind doubt in our minds and stand on His assurance that He will always have our best interest at heart and that He has knows us by name.

  18. Thank you Jesus for today , let us seek him sincerely, love God first then believe in his son Jesus Christ the almighty hallelujah

The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.” The Lord will extend your powerful kingdom from Jerusalem ; you will rule over your enemies. When you go to war, your people will serve you willingly. You are arrayed in holy garments, and your strength will be renewed each day like the morning dew. The Lord has taken an oath and will not break his vow: “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.” The Lord stands at your right hand to protect you. He will strike down many kings when his anger erupts. He will punish the nations and fill their lands with corpses; he will shatter heads over the whole earth. But he himself will be refreshed from brooks along the way. He will be victorious.

  19. Psalms 110
1-3 The word of God to my Lord:
“Sit alongside me here on my throne
until I make your enemies a stool for your feet.”
    You were forged a strong scepter by God of Zion;
now rule, though surrounded by enemies!
Your people will freely join you, resplendent in holy armor
on the great day of your conquest,
Join you at the fresh break of day,
join you with all the vigor of youth.

God is our strength and refuge . Even in the midst of the battle strength will be restored and the enemy defeated.

  20. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.
2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

The strength and power of Jesus shall be evident in Zion and we see that today in the church. Where the gospel is preached there will be signs, miracles and wonders! God rules amongst us no matter what the enemy says! Rule on King Jesus!

  21. Psalm 110
4 The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.

We pray thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven. The Lords will always be done. His will is that we be one with Him. This is found Jesus prayer found in John 17 We are to know him. What is the order of Melchizedek? King of Rightchessness That title is the right one for Jesus. Jesus raises leaders of countries and removes them.
Their is no beginning or ending with Jesus. Rev 22:13 I am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

When Jesus comes puts down Armageddon and become the sole ruler of all nations and Peace will be for a thousand years until the final rebellion. May we be with Jesus during this period.

  22. But he himself will be refreshed from brooks along the way. He will be victorious.
    Psalms 110:7 NLT
    https://bible.com/bible/116/psa.110.7.NLT

“Who can stand against the King? No one can, no one will… victory belongs to Jesus…” no matter what comes your way. No matter what life deals you with, if you are with God you are on the right side of victory.

  23. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

Through Jesus we can overcome anything that comes in our way. We have victory over the enemy and their evil plans.

  24. 5 The Lord at thy right hand shall strike through kings in the day of his wrath.
6 He shall judge among the heathen, he shall fill the places with the dead bodies; he shall wound the heads over many countries.
7 He shall drink of the brook in the way: therefore shall he lift up the head.

I’ve heard testimony of someone falling or failing and feeling like they’re completely worthless then God turns and uses them. When that happens my mind goes straight to think back to what He really thinks we’re worth. He died for each of us and our sins. He will literally take something broken and use it just to show you that YOU are worth something to him. We can’t cut him short of the Glory he deserves it all.

  25. 3When you go to war, your people will serve you willingly. You are arrayed in holy garments, and your strength will be renewed each day like the morning dew.

With God, you are a warrior, a mighty leader and others look to you. Others can see God in and follow you, and support you. Show your faith in God, and don’t show any weakness.

  26. Verse 1 CEV “The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right side,[a] until I make your enemies into a footstool for you.” Wait for it….Wait for it…..Wait… The Lord gives Victory as this Psalm is captioned! 2 Chronicles 20:17 CEV says “You won’t even have to fight. Just take your positions and watch the Lord rescue you from your enemy. Don’t be afraid. Just do as you’re told. And as you march out tomorrow, the Lord will be there with you.

  27. “The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.””
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭110:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Let us stay in the house of the Lord and let us serve in His kingdom so that we can see kingdom advancement. As we continually stay at the house of the Lord and serve Jesus is fighting our battles and he wins so lets us keeping Serving Jesus and We will not doubt for we know that Jesus can do anything.

  28. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

3 Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth.

This reminded me of the importance of having our babies dedicated from birth; from the womb we are instructed to train them up from their youth and the beauty of holiness (the Holy Ghost) shall rest upon them. It’s our jobs as parents to make sure what is being instilled our children’s hearts… and inspire them by living the Word DAILY in their lives!

  29. 1 The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool.

I cannot say enough of the Hand of the Lord. Powerful, strong, but also so gentle and soft. So warm and comforting. Giver, Provider, Healer. God’s Hand can do so many things. I thank You, my Mighty God.

  30. Psalms 110:4
The lord has taken an oath and will not break his vow: “You are a priest forever in the order of Melchizedek.”

When things get tough, it can be easy to focus on ourselves and our difficulties. Read these Bible promises about who God is and let them lift your eyes away from your own situation to the God who is infinitely good.

Psalm 145:9 The Lord is good to all; he has compassion on all he has made.

1 Chronicles 16:34 Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.

2 Samuel 7:28 Sovereign Lord, you are God! Your covenant is trustworthy, and you have promised these good things to your servant.

Nahum 1:7 The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him.

Hold onto these promises that God is with you in your individual situation. Remember the time in the Bible when God gave Noah a rainbow as a sign that God keeps his promises. As He was faithful to Noah, He will be faithful to you.

Isaiah 40:29 He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.

Isaiah 40:31 But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.

Isaiah 43:2 When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze.

Jeremiah 29:11 ‘For I know the plans I have for you’, declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Deuteronomy 31:8 The LORD himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.

Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

    Thank you Jesus

  31. 2 The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies.

Such a short verse, but such a powerful statement!! God will send out His strength and He can and will rule, even in the middle of our ministries!!
