Psalm 111

Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.

They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

  1. 7 The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure.

8 They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness.

The works of his hands are verity, in other words they are stable and they are true. The word verity in the Hebrew is:

    ’emeth
    eh’-meth
Contracted from H539; stability; figuratively certainty, truth, trustworthiness: – assured (-ly), establishment, faithful, right, sure, true (-ly, -th), verity.

This tells me that his hands are trustworthy, faithful and true. This is what the psalmist is speaking to many of us this morning. We have to have trust in God no matter the circumstances, no matter the problem, no matter the size or number of the enemy. We have a foundation that is stable and Jesus is the chief cornerstone. It will not be moved by this world in this hour that we are living in. Many are looking for something more, something that will have power to save them, and something that will show them love that is true. We have the greatest opportunity to give Jesus in this end time that God will begin to pour out his spirit. We have to be ready as the church and ready spiritually to work for those that the world will be trying to keep from God.

He is the blessed assurance that keeps me singing the praises of his hands and the goodness that he has shown us. It is not by chance that Gid has given to us his spirit and the chance to be used mightily in the harvest of souls in this day and hour we are living. We have to prepare ourselves both physically and mentally, but most of all spiritually. It’s not time to give up or let go of the promises of Jesus. It is going to come to pass. Live Jesus to be ready to give Jesus.

  2. Psalm 111

1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

2 The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.

  3. Trust, trust and trust is the message here I see. God gives us no reason not to trust him. He gives us everything we need and then some. Why wouldnt we trust him? If we can learn to trust him we will be a great witness to others.

  4. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

What this entire world needs is a good old -fashioned fear (reverence) of God! Many have lost or have a distorted reverence for the House of God and the things of the world have blinded them. It is even more important that we daily consecrate ourselves and keep our spirits in check with God.

  5. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Grant us wisdom Lord as we follow Your Word. Let us serve in truth and uprightness today with joy in our hearts!

  6. 3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

I find myself exalting the Lord in similar ways. Its easier to start listing the things God has done already and continues to do than the things he has yet to do. Your outlook on the entire Kingdom of God changes after being filled with the holy ghost so anytime you’re around anybody new that has never gotten the holy ghost you need top watch how you speak because your words could be I’m acting their faith. We want faith to be high and expectation to be high so the Lord can have more liberty without any hinderance.

  7. 1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

Everything was created to praise the Lord, yet man was given a choice. It is up to us to live out praise. Everything in our lives should point to Jesus and bring praise to Him.

If something I say or do takes away from the praise then I must change my ways. I was created for relationship with Him. I was created to praise!! Let praise be my weapon today. The enemy will be defeated as I sing out my praise today!

  8. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

To be KINGDOM minded!!! First look at the spiritual in any situation and we won’t get so offended or bothered

  9. 1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
2 The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.
3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

Something I love about david, and I’ve always been able to relate to him more than most people in the Bible, is his tenacity and insatiable desire to give glory to God no matter what situation he is in. throughout this chronological reading we have seen him being chased down by his predecessor, his son, and his enemies despite his valiant efforts to lead the people in righteousness and he has never stopped glorifying the name of the Lord. It’s something that I believe the church needs to continue to ingrain in ourselves is that hunger to give glory to god. Not just to do mighty works and not just to be protected but to constantly pour out love to the father of all

  10. Verse 10 MSG “The good life begins in the fear of God—Do that and you’ll know the blessing of God. His Hallelujah lasts forever!” I want to raise my Hallelujah!

I raise a hallelujah, in the presence of my enemies
I raise a hallelujah, louder than the unbelief
I raise a hallelujah, my weapon is a melody
I raise a hallelujah, heaven comes to fight for me

I’m gonna sing, in the middle of the storm
Louder and louder, you’re gonna hear my praises roar
Up from the ashes, hope will arise
Death is defeated, the King is alive!

I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me
I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee
I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery
I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me!

Same verse AMP “The [reverent] fear of the Lord is the beginning (the prerequisite, the absolute essential, the alphabet) of wisdom; A good understanding and a teachable heart are possessed by all those who do the will of the Lord; His praise endures forever.” Lord I pray that you open up my wisdom, knowledge, understanding and always let me possess a teachable heart. Proverbs 9:10 AMP says “The [reverent] fear of the Lord [that is, worshiping Him and regarding Him as truly awesome] is the beginning and the preeminent part of wisdom [its starting point and its essence], And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding and spiritual insight.”

  11. 5 He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant. 6 He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

The Lord will provide what we need. We just need to maintain a balance relationship with him, which is not only havind faith, but reveranace and praise.

  12. 1. Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

I’ve always heard the group of people in the pews (or chairs) at church called the congregation, but apparently this hasn’t always been the case. Here, he says he will praise the Lord in the assembly of the upright (church?) AND in the congregation…

This is how it reads in other versions:

Hallelujah! I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart in the company of decent people and in the congregation.
    -God’s Word Translation

Hallelujah! I give thanks to GOD with everything I’ve got— Wherever good people gather, and in the congregation.
    -The Message

Either we’ve mislabeled the folks at church, or he’s saying other folks are more upright than the ones he goes to church with.

  13. Psalms 111
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

The word fear here is not about being afraid. It actually means amazement or awe of the Lord!
Recognizing that He is God and as we walk daily daily in His commandments we can have a better understanding of Who He truly is. The Splendor of the King robed in Majesty. He will lead and guide all into truth of His word. Acknowledge who He is He is God Almighty.

  14. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

My Hallelujah belongs to Him, He deserves it!!!! Oh God how wonderful are your works, they last forever, they don’t expire!!! You are worthy of ALL OF OUR PRAISE!!! Jesus never ceases to amaze me. I should know by now how good is our God and how great are His works in all of the earth, but for some reason when I see Him working I can’t help but be amazed and say WOW THATS MY GOD!!!! The blessings He has given to us are overflowing. Every morning when I awake I can only say THANK YOU JESUS!!! Everyday is a new miracle in my life. A new opportunity to serve Him. A clean slate to begin again!!! How great and mighty is our God!!! Hallelujah!!!

  15. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    UNDERSTANDING GOD

10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Our human nature is to obey a command or follow instructions once we understand the reason or purpose of the command. However in The Kingdom of GOD, in HIS infinite ways beyond our understanding we are challenged to OBEY before we UNDERSTAND.

The psalmist here affirms this concept. We have a good UNDERSTANDING when we obey GOD. The Wisdom of GOD is to obey NOW and UNDERSTAND later.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive

  16. Psalms 111:1-2
    1) PRAISE ye the LORD. (the AMP says, Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)). I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
    2) The works of the LORD are great,…

Anytime we PRAISE the LORD, it should always be with our Whole Heart.
When we PRAISE the LORD, we are Exalting Him, Worshipping Him, Rejoicing in Him, Boasting in Him, Thanking Him, and Blessing Him.
Why should we PRAISE the LORD? because HE IS GREAT, and HE IS DOING GREAT THINGS.
HE deserves ALL the GLORY, HONOR, and PRAISE today!!

I’m going to Raise A HALLELUJAH today!

  17. Ps. 111 : 10 [ amp] The reverent fear and worship of the Lord is the beginning of Wisdom and skill [ the preceding and the first essential, the prerequisite and the alphabet; a good understanding, wisdom, and meaning have all those who do [ the will of the Lord]. Their praise of Him endures forever.
Rev : 7 [ amp] And he cried with a mighty voice, Revere God and give Him glory ( honor and praise in worship), for the hour of His judgment has arrived, Fall down before Him; pay Him homage and adoration and worship Him Who created heaven and earth, the sea , and the springs
    ( fountains) of water.
Praise him with your whole heart, and raise Hallelujah!

  18. 111:4 he hath made his wonderful works to be remembered.
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

Yes he is. If it hadn’t been for the Lord….
His me cries are me everyday.
I went to sleep and I’m awaken because the Lord sustained me.
    He cares for his people
    He is righteous
Slow to anger, great in mercy
He has not paid us according to our sin, nor give us according to our iniquities…
My hope is upon the Lord.
    And today I am thankful.
    It’s a new day.
And I will REJOICE. For he is good. Hallelujah

  19. Psalm 111

    10) The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all those who practice it have a good understanding. His praise endures forever!

    Following and concerning:

    3) (The LORD) Full of splendor and majesty is his work, and his righteousness endures forever.
    (The Gideons)

  20. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

Boom! The answer is right here y’all. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart…in the congregation. We gotta get back to Church y’all! This morning was rockin’ and tonight will be rolling. God is awesome and momentum is swinging back in His favor! Train is about to pick up speed y’all

  21. 1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

Tha upright and the congregation… many times according to the world, these two are the same, but here according to the author, they are not.

Just think about it, the upright, are those living as they should, being examples of Jesus to the world around them, leading souls to the Kingdom of God. The congregation on the other hand, is going to be comprised of both those who are upright and those woohoo are not, hypocrites and men/ women of honor, people serving the Kingdom of God , and people serving the kingdom of theirself.

We must stay purposeful about which we are serving.

  22. “Praise the LORD! (Hallelujah!) I will give thanks to the LORD with all my heart, In the company of the upright and in the congregation.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭111:1‬ ‭AMP‬‬

No matter what we should always have a praise unto him. Whether we are alone at home or in the house of god we must praise his name. It’s in our praise that we get joy, peace, comfort. Regardless of what we may go through we must always praise. He inhabits the praises of his people! Sometimes it may not feel good but always praise. Don’t let down your praise! Let us continue to praise his name!

  23. Psalms 111

Wow! There e not much to add to this Psalm. We must be thankful daily for our Lord Jesus. Follow the commandments of our Lord, honor Him always and those that are lost. Thank you Jesus Christ for this day.

  24. “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭111:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/psa.111.10.nlt

We must fear the Lord or in other words respect the Lord and listen to his words. Once we dare the Lord with love and respect he will bless you.

  25. 1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

All people should praise God but some don’t. The reality is the fearful and unbelieving can’t praise something that their life style goes against

  26. 2 How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in him should ponder them. 3 Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty. His righteousness never fails.
    Psalms 111:2-3 NLT

O Lord there will never be a day where you will not fail us. Everything the Lord has done for us has guided us through his righteous path and made us stronger in him. Let us praise him daily for he will never fail us. He will never leave us in our darkest and weakest moments. Let us dwell in his name, for the Lord brings us light, joy, and peace.

  27. 4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

Out of all the marvelous and wonderful things he does, the greatest of them is to pay the price for our salvation. To give us life and life more abundantly in Christ Jesus. His mercy is great and his loving kindness towards us incomparable.

  28. “He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever: Holy and awesome is His name.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭111:9‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

When Jesus died on the cross for our transgressions, it has given us a chance of redemption to be forgiven for our iniquities. Holy and awesome is The Lord for the promise of God are yea and amen, and great and glorious are the works of God for His works come to pass and are perfect.

  30. Psalms 111:1
Praise the lord! I will thank the lord with all my heart    as I meet with his godly people.

Thank you Jesus for church family and fellowship

  31. Psalm 111:1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, and the assembly of the upright, and then the congregation.

I praise Him with my whole heart ❤️ 🙌🏼

  32. The work

2 The works of the Lord are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

4 He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered: the Lord is gracious and full of compassion.

I’ve been around church long enough now to know there’s those few that will truly work and that majority that think everything in the Kingdom is owed to them. We notice here in this passage that Gods nature is to always be working. I’m reminded of the song we sing “ even when I don’t feel him he’s working, he’s always working.” If you are not willing to work, you are not going to make it in his Kingdom. Our work is what proves our faith. Faith without works is dead. Without Gods work in my life I would be lost. It takes work to do anything in the Kingdom.

    Let’s work

  33. “Praise the Lord! I will thank the Lord with all my heart as I meet with his godly people. How amazing are the deeds of the Lord! All who delight in him should ponder them. Everything he does reveals his glory and majesty. His righteousness never fails.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭111:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/psa.111.1-3.nlt

Just like his love for us never stops ,we should never stop praising and worshiping his name .

  34. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

To fear the Lord is so to walk aright before him is the greatest of all that He command us to do. Holy in reverence to Him, so that He can leads us to victory and for us to be able to praise him for who He is. For He is our Creator, that’s what drove the psalmist’s to fear the Lord.

  35. “He hath given meat unto them that fear him: he will ever be mindful of his covenant.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭111:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus will never forget his promises to us. He keeps his promises. We may unintentionally forget our promises, but never God. God is good!

  36. “The [reverent] fear of the LORD is the beginning (the prerequisite, the absolute essential, the alphabet) of wisdom; A good understanding and a teachable heart are possessed by all those who do the will of the LORD; His praise endures forever.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭111:10‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The beginning, the prerequisite, the absolute essential, the alphabet. Our fear of God is the key, the basis of growing in Him. The message version says the good life begins in the fear of God, do that and you’ll know the blessing of God. It starts with us being in awe of Him, respecting and regarding Him so much we put His will before our own.

I thank God His Word says He will provide for those who fear Him. I pray we never lose our respect for the Most High, Jesus

  37. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom = the foundational truth of every believer. This must be our solid rock foundation to have a relationship with Jesus.

  38. 1 Praise ye the Lord. I will praise the Lord with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

I will praise the Lord with my WHOLE heart, not half or partially, but my whole heart. And in the assembly. . In the sanctuary.

3 His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.

9 He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.
10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Why wouldn’t one love Him with their whole heart?? After all he’s done for each and every one of us?? “. . . He sent redemption unto his people: . . . he hath commanded his covenant for ever: . . .” Knowing and having an understanding of Him and His commandments strengthens our relationship with Him. Also, helping us love Him even more wholeheartedly!

  39. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Learning his word and doing whatever it commands brings understanding of the Lord and his ways.

  40. “Fear of the Lord is the foundation of true wisdom. All who obey his commandments will grow in wisdom. Praise him forever!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭111:10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Seek God First! He will give you wisdom and understanding. “If you are wise and understand God’s ways, prove it by living an honorable life, doing good works with the humility that comes from wisdom. But if you are bitterly jealous and there is selfish ambition in your heart, don’t cover up the truth with boasting and lying. For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind. But the wisdom from above is first of all pure. It is also peace loving, gentle at all times, and willing to yield to others. It is full of mercy and the fruit of good deeds. It shows no favoritism and is always sincere. And those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭3:13-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“And this is what he says to all humanity: ‘The fear of the Lord is true wisdom; to forsake evil is real understanding.’””
    ‭‭Job‬ ‭28:28‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  41. 4He causes us to remember his wonderful works.
How gracious and merciful is our LORD!

Yes, let’s remember all the good works God has done. All you see, the clouds, land, seas, and stars are great works God did. Remember God for the blessings, healings and miracles he has done. Give God the glory and honor.

  42. 10 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.

Wisdom is the application of knowledge which means it takes action. For instance you want a blessing you gotta know how to bless others first. We gain knowledge through hearing and reading the Word of God. The Bible is a living, breathing book full of Holy Ghost inspired truths. It’s food that nourishes our spirit. Those who have a good understanding of it praise God for it sustains them.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom. This means we must show reverence for He is Lord. If we don’t esteem him as such then the Word is just a bunch of letters on a page. Those who seek God will gain wisdom for he gives it freely. Wisdom isn’t just for elders. Some can get older but never grow up spiritually. To really understand it takes seeing situations through the eyes of God. How does God think about a situation? Who should I turn to in trouble? The answers stand forever. When the Word lives inside of us and we follow His commands then we become walking examples. We then hold testimonies that God can use as he did those in the Bible. We are walking chapters. No one is greater than the other because each person has their faults. Anyone can get caught up their emotions. It’s our choice where we will turn to in order to correct our course. That is the fear of God recognizing our wrong and acknowledge he is holy, just and our source of righteousness.

Knowing we are nothing without him is humbling ourselves to an Almighty God. This is why we should praise Him. If he ever brought us out of something we should shout! If he’s ever healed us we should dance! He is deserving of all our praise. The Psalmist got this and we need to also if we want to grow in Him and become wise.

  43. “He has paid a full ransom for his people. He has guaranteed his covenant with them forever. What a holy, awe-inspiring name he has!”(Psalms‬ ‭111:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬)

The Lords inspiring unfailing love for us can never measure up to express with words how much he truly loves us. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”(Hebrews‬ ‭13:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬). The Lord himself never lies for he is righteous and faithful to his people forever.
