Psalm 116

1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living.

10 I believed, therefore have I spoken: I was greatly afflicted:

11 I said in my haste, All men are liars.

12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.

14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

19 In the courts of the Lord’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord.

  1. God takes the side of the helpless;
when I was at the end of my rope, he saved me.
7-8 I said to myself, “Relax and rest.
God has showered you with blessings.
    Soul, you’ve been rescued from death;
    Eye, you’ve been rescued from tears;
And you, Foot, were kept from stumbling.”

I’m ready to offer the thanksgiving sacrifice
and pray in the name of God.
I’ll complete what I promised God I’d do,
and I’ll do it in company with his people,
In the place of worship, in God’s house,

God is our refuge and strength. He is faithful
    I give You thanks .

  2. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

Lord know we have had a share of sorrow and He knows that He is the only one that can turn our mourning into dancing and our sorrow into joy!!!!

  3. Psalm 116

1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

  4. 1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.

4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

The psalmist describes the Lord as a delivering hand in the midst of turmoil. His ear was not deaf unto the cry of the individual described by the scripture here. As he found himself in the face of death the hand of the Lord reached down and lifted him out of the muck and mess that He was facing. The Lord full of grace and mercy.

Sometimes we ourselves forget that God had brought us out of the miry clay, and when He had set us in the solid foundation, that we would not be challenged by the enemy. The enemy will continue to strive to impart adversity, doubt, and fear in every aspect of our lives. The only saving grace that we have is to call upon the name of the Lord. He will be a strong tower to be able to run into and be safe. He will be the very air that we breath, we just have to learn to trust and depend on him. I can honestly state with great confidence, as for me and my house we will serve the Lord.

  5. So in Psalms 116 it’s talking about how Jesus heard my voice and then the sorrows and pains of death and hell were upon her then I called upon Jesus’s Name and he will deliver my soul from evil and hell then Jesus is Gracious and Righteous and Mighty and Merciful then Jesus Brought me down Low and he Has helped me with my life and my soul then King Jesus will dealt with the soul and he will Return to sleep so that he can deliver my soul from hell then my feet would be falling

  6. Salmon 116 nos habla acerca de que mi senor JESUS nos escucha en tiempos de suplicas y necesidad y nos Libra de la muerte siempre y cuando nos humillemos a el.

  7. 3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

The troubles, pain and sorrow that the enemy intents for us to fall into are daily planned for us. To destroy us, but we have hope and redemption. Call on the name of Jesus, He will deliver us from the gates of destruction. As long as we have breath and understanding we have hope and salvation. Call upon His name today, don’t wait for tomorrow. For tomorrow is not promised. Today is the day of deliverance!

  8. Ps . 116: 17 [ amp] I will offer to You the sacrifice of Thanksgiving and will call on the name of the Lord.
1 Chronicles 21: 24 [ And King David said to Ornan.
No, but I will pay the full price.
I will not take what is yours for the Lord, nor offer burnt offerings which cost me nothimg.
Our lives should be a sacrifice of praise!
God is refuge, our strength, and our hope.
Lift him up and give him Glory and Honer!

  9. 2. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

He answered my cries before, and He never changes; therefore, I know He will always be there for me.

    Malachi 3:6
For I am the Lord, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

    Matthew 28:20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

  10. 1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

There are numerous reasons to love God, whether it’s salvation or answered prayers, the list could go on and on but one thing that has caught my attention is that the Lord of hosts and God of this universe, the Creator of all things still listens to a prayer of an individual out of billions of other people. The omnipresence of the Lord is astounding to think about all of the billions of people throughout history and God still takes the time to listen to every individual who calls upon his name, who reads his word and follows his will. He still reaches for people who are cursing his name and still Loving them. That’s the kind of God I look forward to sitting at his feet for all of eternity

  11. Psalm 116: 1,2. I LOVE the Lord, because he had heard my voice and my supplications. Because he has inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

Mark 12:33 And to love him with all my heart, and with all the understanding, and with all the soul, and with all the strength, and to love his neighbor as himself, is more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices.

Psalm 34:3,4 Oh magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

I LOVE the Lord and give him Thanks in everything!

  12. 1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.
2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

Thank you Lord for never being to busy to hear me. Whether it’s when I call on you in time of need or to praise and worship You, You are always listening.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable, and perfect will of God, which is your reasonable service.

  13. 3 The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me: I found trouble and sorrow.
4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

When we are truly honest with ourselves and others, we can see just how far Jesus has brought us and can reach others best.

  14. 1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live

Me listens to our prayers in our cry for help he is always there for us no matter what even when we don’t feel him he is there telling us that he knows what we need in just waiting on us to cry out to him he answers our prayers he is a loving God that is always there for us he is just a prayer away in we should always love our Lord in honor him because he is a loving God

  15. I love my Lord and savior. No other can compare or even come close. He is the best of best! He is fair yet strong minded. He is the mighty God

    If we just BELIEVE.
With God ALL things are possible. Hallelujah 😀
In I my distressed I believed and spoke the word of God by faith.
Speak!!! Let it oudd to, let’s call those thing that’s not yet, as though they were..
God wants to hear my voice, words of faith, words of encouragement, .

  17. 17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.
18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.
We can always find something to be thankful about and give praise to the Lord.

  18. 4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.
5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.
6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.
8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

We’ve got a testimony! God has been so good to us, how could we do anything but praise His wonderful name! He has always been there for us and He will never leave nor forsake us! Thank You Lord for saving me!

  19. Psalms 116:5 & 16-17
    5) Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

    16) O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds. (nlt says, You have freed me from my chains).
    17) I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.

Truly our God is Gracious, Righteous, and Merciful.
I’m so THANKFUL for the day that God loosed my bonds and freed me from the chains of sin on my life.
The LORD heard my voice when I called upon His name and cried out to Him, “Deliver My Soul!” He helped me. He loosed the chains of sin and Set Me Free.
NOW, I have sooooo much to THANK HIM for. I will offer to Him the Sacrifice of Thanksgiving.

I LOVE YOU JESUS DEEP DOWN IN MY HEART!!
I LOVE YOU JESUS FOR ALL YOU”VE DONE FOR ME!!

  20. “I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live. The sorrows of death compassed me, and the pains of hell gat hold upon me. I found trouble and sorrow. Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.”
    Psalm 116 1-6

I am sure we all have many testimonies of how our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ has helped us. I know I sure have many. Five operations of cancer, and cancer free, I was held at gunpoint and one guy said, “lets kill her”, well again God intervened. So many more…… God has been here for me my whole life, even when I made stupid mistakes. Who’s name do people call out in severe crisis? Even unsaved people have cried out for “Lord help me”! I feel so thankful for our gracious and loving Lord. Thank you, thank you, Lord Jesus for this day.

  21. AMP – 12 What will I give to the Lord [in return]
For all His benefits toward me?
[How can I repay Him for His precious blessings?]
13 I will lift up the cup of salvation
And call on the name of the Lord.
14 I will pay my vows to the Lord,
Yes, in the presence of all His people.
15 [b]Precious [and of great consequence] in the sight of the Lord
Is the death of His godly ones [so He watches over them].
    16 O Lord, truly I am Your servant;
    I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid;
    You have unfastened my chains.
17 I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving,
And will call on the name of the Lord.
18 I will pay my vows to the Lord,
Yes, in the presence of all His people,

I’ve often heard it said – what do you give a God who has everything? These verses sum up that answer – I will lift up my cup of salvation, I will pay my vows to the Lord, I will be a servant of the Lord and to the Lord, for He has loosed the chains of bondage from my life, and freely will I offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving to Him.

God doesn’t want us to serve him grudgingly, or just because it’s the better alternative. He wants us to want a relationship with Him, to build and grow that relationship and to live that relationship so others will see that we do it “freely” out of a heart of gratitude and thanksgiving.

  22. Psalm Chapter 116
1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

2 Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

We live in a world that has never heard the gospel or has heard it and rejected it. We are declaring that we love the Lord Jesus Christ and he hears our voice and our supplications. We will commune with Jesus now and through out eternity.

Today I rejoice in the Lord this day because Jesus has not left me and is still directing my path. That I have never been rejecter by Him nor have I stopped hearing his voice.

John 10:2-5 But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

We may hear his voice for He is the good Sheppard.

Psalm 23:1-3 [[A Psalm of David.]] The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Finley I agree with Job 19:25 For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: That is an unbreakable promise for those in Christ. This day be strong in the Lord and the power of his might and all the above happens.

  23. Psalms 116:6
The lord protects those of childlike faith;  I was facing death, and he saved me.

Childlike faith is often described as a faith that does not doubt, question, or seek explanations; it just believes. Jesus says that seeing the kingdom of heaven requires humility. If seeing the kingdom of heaven was the same as going to heaven, then the good work of personal humility would be required for entrance into heaven after death. In the Gospels, the phrase “kingdom of heaven” or “kingdom of God” refers to the rule and reign of God in our lives now on earth. It is about God’s will being done on earth, as it is done in heaven (Matthew 6:10).

All the kingdom imagery and terminology in the Gospels is not about “leaving earth and going to heaven when we die” but about “heaven coming down to earth while we live.”

Seeing the kingdom of heaven is not about life after death, but about living and experiencing God’s life in this life here and now.

This is what Jesus has in mind when He teaches about becoming like a little child. Experiencing the life of God in this life requires humility like a little child. becoming like a little child means that we maintain the wonderful and beautiful characteristics and qualities of children that life in this sinful world tends to beat out of us.
    Like what?
Like tenderness of conscience, Openness about emotions and feelings, Creativity and imagination,
Wonder and awe, Joy, Eternal hope, Playfulness and humor, Trust, Easy forgiveness, Undying love,
Boundless exuberance and energy, Always thinking the best about life and other people, Being willing to learn and grow.

These are the sort of qualities that tend to define children, but which get stripped out of people as they encounter the sin and brokenness of this world. We become jaded and disinterested, Adults hold grudges, harbor fears, and stay angry. Adults refuse to forgive, Adults remember slights, Adults lose hope because their hopes have been dashed and destroyed so many time. Adults do things “because they’ve always been done that way” and have trouble imagining anything different, But children do not behave in any of these ways. Nor did Jesus. One of the things that attracted people to Jesus is that He was “childlike.” Does this mean He lacked wisdom and understanding? Far from it. Jesus was “childlike” because He was full of the wonder of life, the hope for humanity, and the beauty of creation. Jesus lived in awe of life, awe of God, and awe of humanity. And this awe was contagious. People who saw how Jesus lived began to see how life should be lived. Jesus revealed how God intended life to be lived. In other words, those who begin to live life like Jesus are those who begin to see heaven come down to earth. They begin to see the rule and reign of God unfold in their own life with all its beauty, majesty, glory, and creativity. This is what Jesus Himself lived, and this is what Jesus invited others to live also. He taught that if you want to experience God’s life in this life (the kingdom of heaven), then you need to become like a little child once again.

Do you want to enter the Kingdom like a child?
If so, then ask questions. Lots of questions, But also have fun. Laugh. Play. Imagine. Sing. Dance. Hope. Dream. Forgive. Create. Trust. Live life to the full. Be excited. Be adventuresome. Be tender of heart And most of all, love. When you live this way, you will become like a little child, and will see the kingdom of heaven rise again in your life.

    Thank you Jesus

  24. 12 What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

What do you give to the Lord who’s given everything, including His life, for you?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.

14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

We can give our life in return.

If He died for us, we can live for Him!

  25. iLove the Lord
1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications. Because he hath inclined his ear unto me, therefore will I call upon him as long as I live.

Our God is Awesome! Our God is alive and well. The palmist declares that he loves the Lord “because” he has heard his prayers. This describes a relationship with God. The palmist and God communicate. This in turn creates a love relationship. This is why prayer is so important. We cannot really love God without prayer and without prayer we will become cold.

Mat 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.

  26. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    WHO DO YOU CALL

4 Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul.

It seems in every trial, test, situation or circumstance there comes a “THEN” moment. The moment when fear turns to frustration, frustration turns to desire, desire turns to motivation, motivation turns to action.

For some this “THEN” moment comes quicker and more often than others.

For some there are calls to family, friends or mentors for direction before there is even a mention of JESUS. But for every “THEN” moment we should follow suit with the psalmist and call on the NAME of the LORD.

JESUS is the FIRST invitee to every situation that I face. Precious or peril, I call on JESUS. But especially when trouble and sorrow come my way. I call upon the name of the LORD. If you are struggling today with an pain, peril or persecution, have a “THEN” moment and call on the Name of The LORD.

  27. “And so I walk in the Lord’s presence as I live here on earth!”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭116:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Heaven on earth! What a privilege we have to be able to seat in heavenly places while on earth. God is so amazing! He has even us an earnest of our inheritance. So thankful for His Holy Spirit.

“For he raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  28. Psalm 116: 6-7

    6) The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

    7) Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the LORD hath dealt bountifully with thee.

Praise the Lord God Almighty for His forgiveness!!!

    Hallelujah!!

  29. “I love the LORD, because He hears [and continues to hear] My voice and my supplications (my pleas, my cries, my specific needs).

Gracious is the LORD, and [consistently] righteous; Yes, our God is compassionate.
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭116:1, 5‭AMP‬‬

No matter how far in our walk we may be or what we may go through in life he cares for us. He cares for us now just as much as he did when we were a babe in Christ. Nothing is too big or too small for him. If he did it before he can do it again. He is righteous and gracious unto us. We must remain faithful and never let what situation we may be going through make use forget the miraculous works that he has done for us. He is the same yesterday today and forever more.

  30. 15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. Romans 14:8

  31. 1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

No matter what life challenges us with, what a calming reassurance to know that God is always an ever-present help in times of trouble. This year has brought so much uncertainty but in the midst of it God has been there! What a mighty God we serve!

  32. 16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

18 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

19 In the courts of the Lord’s house, in the midst of thee, O Jerusalem. Praise ye the Lord

Some may not understand the way others may offer up their praise to God. One can be more demonstrative or exhibit greater and be louder but the thing to understand is that praise is like a fingerprint. It is something so personal, so intimate. Only you know what prayers God has answered for you. Only you know what all the Lord has worked in your favor or from what evil he has delivered you from. Only you know the tears and moments of pain and in the midst of it all you him say, worship me, will you dance in praise? Only you know the depth of your offering. And thought it all. He is good. Our flesh may not understand it at times when we offer the sacrifice of praise, but God sees. He sees the price, the value of your offering and the fruit of your lips giving thanks unto His name. We cannot really respond in praise and worship until we really invest in those times, that relationship where only you has God knows. The word is true… oh taste and see that the Lord is good.

So taste and see, pray today. Know that there will be times where you wont know how or why, but just praise Him, worship Him, dance praise on advance for Him. And watch as His glory fills you.
    Make His praise Glorious.

  33. What shall I render unto the Lord for all his benefits toward me?

13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the Lord.

14 I will pay my vows unto the Lord now in the presence of all his people.

15 Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.

16 O Lord, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.

17 I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.

  34. 5 Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful.

6 The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.

7 Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee.

8 For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling.

What a a bitter sweet thing it is when people come to the Lord. It’s bitter to see where they’re coming from where they’ve been and what hell they had to go through just to get to the house of the Lord before being filled with the Spirit. But how beautiful and sweet it is to see them filled with the Holy Ghost fans every care every worry every problem just be lifted from the shoulders of a helpless lost and dying person that’s held down by the chains of bondage of sin and addiction. It brings tears of joy and tears of appreciation because i know what it took before a i let GO and LET GOD. Brought all the way to the floor before surrendering and He says ok…are you done. And all you can do i look up and lift your hands in surrender because he is the king of kings and the Lord of Lords. I’m not ashamed of the gospel and I’m not ashamed to share with everyone what Jesus has done to me!

  35. 1 I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications.

My love for God goes beyond what He has done for me but who He is too me. The psalmist words are always to elegant and inviting yet my mind is often so simple. I’m at a point to where I just appreciate and love the simple things about Him like He is so kind towards me.

  36. 3 Death wrapped its ropes around me; the terrors of the grave overtook me. I saw only trouble and sorrow. 4 Then I called on the name of the Lord: “Please, Lord, save me!”
    Psalms 116:3-4 NLT
