Psalm 37

Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

10 For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.

11 But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.

12 The wicked plotteth against the just, and gnasheth upon him with his teeth.

13 The Lord shall laugh at him: for he seeth that his day is coming.

14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, and to slay such as be of upright conversation.

15 Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken.

16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.

18 The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

20 But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the Lord shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

21 The wicked borroweth, and payeth not again: but the righteous sheweth mercy, and giveth.

22 For such as be blessed of him shall inherit the earth; and they that be cursed of him shall be cut off.

23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

25 I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

26 He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed.

27 Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.

28 For the Lord loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.

29 The righteous shall inherit the land, and dwell therein for ever.

30 The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.

31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.

32 The wicked watcheth the righteous, and seeketh to slay him.

33 The Lord will not leave him in his hand, nor condemn him when he is judged.

34 Wait on the Lord, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.

35 I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.

36 Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

37 Mark the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is peace.

38 But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off.

39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.

40 And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

  1. 1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.
2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

The Bible tells us that in this scripture we are not to worry about evildoers, even though it seems like things are so rampantly getting worse and there is evil all around us, this scripture gives me peace reminds me that it’s all short lived. No matter how right or justified they think they are I can do nothing by worrying about it. What is most important is that we fall in the hands of a just God who is the ultimate balance for what is good. He weighs and measures things according to the intent of the heart and makes the ultimate decision on what happens. We truly have nothing to worry about. Even amongst all this chaos and uncertainty, we know that our God has the last word.

  2. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

The psalmist states here that we should trust in the lord and do good, we will dwell in the land and He will feed us. If we delight ourselves in the Lord, He will give us the desires of our hearts. Commit our ways unto the Lord and He will bring it to pass. The word trust is mentioned twice in these three scriptures.

The word trust is to put our confidence in God. This should be a first step to pleasing God. If we can not trust God in all that we do then we will not get the fullness of his glory or even his mercy. We have to have a desire to see the divine presence of God above anything else. When we commit ourselves to the kingdom, God will give the desires of our heart, because he has already committed to us. His love was enough to cause him to come to earth and paid a ransom for each of us. The love that never ends.

  3. Verses 34-40 MSG “Wait passionately for God, don’t leave the path. He’ll give you your place in the sun while you watch the wicked lose it. I saw Wicked bloated like a toad, croaking pretentious nonsense. The next time I looked there was nothing—a punctured bladder, vapid and limp. Keep your eye on the healthy soul, scrutinize the straight life; There’s a future in strenuous wholeness. But the willful will soon be discarded; insolent souls are on a dead-end street. The spacious, free life is from God, it’s also protected and safe. God-strengthened, we’re delivered from evil—when we run to him, he saves us.” We must keep our focus (heart, mind and soul) on Jesus and all those evil things trying to pull us away from righteousness will poof be gone.

  4. I have been young and now I am old, Yet I have not seen the righteous (those in right standing with God) abandoned Or his descendants pleading for bread. For the Lord delights in justice And does not abandon His saints (faithful ones); They are preserved forever, But the descendants of the wicked will [in time] be cut off.
    Psalms 37:25‭, ‬28 AMP

My God has been so good to me. He has shielded me, clothed me, fed me, loved me. My family goes without nothing because of His goodness and provision. I bless His Holy Name.

  5. 1. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

    2. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

    35. I have seen the wicked in great power, and spreading himself like a green bay tree.

    36. Yet he passed away, and, lo, he was not: yea, I sought him, but he could not be found.

While seeing wicked people trying everything in the book to put themselves in power, it’s refreshing to be reminded that God also sees and is well able to respond as He deems appropriate.

  6. Ps. 37:3-4 [ amp] Trust ( lean on, rely on , and be confident) in the Lord and do good; so shall you dwell in the land and feed surely on His faithfulness, and truly you shall be fed.
[4] Delight yourself also in the Lord, and He will give you the desires and secret petitions of your heart.
Galatians 6 : 9 [ amp] And let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right, for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap , if we do not loosen and relax our courage and faint.
Live right, Do right, commit, and live for God.
For his truth and ways will be here forever.
    Thank you Jesus for Everything.

  11. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Trust, delight, and commit! When we truly and fully trust in the Lord, we have no worries. When we have no worries, we are able to delight ourselves in His goodness. And delightful people are almost always people who are willing to serve and commit themselves. Trust in the Lord today and watch His goodness come to pass; trust in the Lord and be ready and willing to serve!

  12. 5 “Commit your way to the LORD, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.

7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for Him; Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who brings wicked schemes to pass.

34 Wait on the LORD, And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:5, 7, 34‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As human beings it’s not easy to wait, especially to wait patiently. When you commit your ways to the Lord and trust in Him, you can rest and wait patiently for Him.

  13. 9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth.

Patience is a virtue that not everyone has but if we will practice patience by waiting on God we not only will be a happier individual, but we will also exhibit integrity in dealing with people.

  14. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

When you put your trust in the Lord he will see you through any situation. Why don’t got when making decisions and he will show you the right way to go.

  17. Psalms 37
We are not to fret (worry or get so worked up over) evildoers or envious against the workers of iniquity. We are not to fret over someone who prospers in his way, or who brings wicked devices to pass. We need to stop getting angry and forsake wrath. Why? Because the Lord’s going to cut them off. They shall perish. He will destroy them.
    BUT
We should Trust in the Lord and do good. We should should Delight ourselves in the Lord. We should Commit our ways to the Lord and Trust in Him. We should Rest in the Lord and wait pariently for Him. Why? Because He is our Strength in trouble. He will Help us. He will Deliver us. He will save us.

Thank You JESUS for You are Merciful!

  18. 1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

Sometimes all you can do is pray for folks. In the world today there is so much that does not revolve around Christ that people are easily lost because of it. Its so easy to become consumed by this world that even the strongest of Christians can get caught up in it. So all you can do is pray stay strong in God’s word and let the world be what it is. If you see the world chances are the world sees you be the example! Pray, pray hard for those who are lost and be the light that shines and stands out in the crowd!

  19. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

Having commended your Way to the Lord, the next step is to rest in him. Since He is carrying your burden, it is not necessary for you to bear it also. Too often that is exactly what we do. We cast our care hesitatingly on Him, then promptly take it back on ourselves.
“ And wait patiently for Him.”
Sometimes this is the hardest thing for us to do. Waiting is the thing we do list well! But true faith wait confident that God is able to do what He has problems.

    Romans 4:21
“And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.”

  20. Psalm 37:23,24 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

I thank God for ordering my steps, gives me the spiritual comfort, guidance, and fellowship. He leads me right and never fails me.

Proverbs 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Psalm 40:2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and establish my goings.

God is good and His mercy endureth forever.
I give Him thanks for His mercy and Grace.

  21. ILove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Psa 37:3  Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed

Wow! Trust in the Lord and do good… to think about this phrase is amazing. For those who don’t do good, it must mean they don’t trust the Lord. Jesus goes on to say, “If you Love me keep my commandments”. This means obeying and trusting is tied to relationship with Jesus

  22. In this chapter it was saying to not fear the evil but go towards the light. We should not fear hectare we have God on our side. Wicked and evil shall not fear no more. It said that God laughs at the wicked and evil because he knows and we should know that they have no chance against us! Gods love and mercy endures forever and wicked should not trail against us! It was saying in life we might stumble but we won’t fall! We can do a lot of things if we put our minds to it! If we stay and trust the Lord he will bring us blessings upon blessings! God knows all we do and hopes for the best! God cares very much for us and will do all in his will to get us to the right place. I f we are strong and stand together the wicked can not come upon us! We much unite and he strong! We as a much can stand together and defeat any wicked together! STAND STRONG POFW!!!✨✨✨

  23. Psalm 37:25-26

    25) I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed bearing bread.

    26) He is ever merciful, and lenderth; and his seed is blessed.

    Praise God!

  24. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.
5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

This chapter describes so many benefits from serving the Lord, so how can we neglect this promise? Vs 5 says it all. Commit thy way unto the Lord. I’m thankful for this truth and the Holy Ghost and thankful that his mercy and grace endureth forever.

  25. “But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them because they trust in him.” Psalm 37: 39-40

Our Lord helps the righteous. He is merciful, gracious, loving, and gives us spiritual guidance. Be honest and follow our Lords commandments. I thank you Jesus for this day!

  27. “The wicked watches for the righteous and seeks to put him to death. The Lord will not abandon him to his power or let him be condemned when he is brought to trial.”‭‭(Psalm‬ ‭37:32-33‬ ‭ESV‬‬)

The Lord is kind hearted and loyal to those that long for long-suffering he is there protection and comfort. (Deuteronomy‬ ‭31:6‬ ‭ESV‬) “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you. The Lord is true in all his ways for he will never change but stay the same.

  28. 16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.

Having everything money can buy is waist, when it comes the afterlife. What the Lord thinks of us is more important than how we are spoken of at our funeral.

  29. Psalms 37:5
Commit everything you do to the lord. Trust him, and he will help you.

To be ‘fully committed’ with ‘all our hearts’ means 100 per cent commitment.  It means seeking to do what the Lord calls us to do.  It means rooting out anything that is bad – ruthlessly tearing down the high places and getting rid of the other gods in the midst of our own lives.
The Lord is looking for those whose ‘hearts are fully committed’ to him (2 Chronicles 16:9).
The psalmist prayed, ‘Give me an undivided heart’ (Psalm 86:11).  The expression ‘all your heart’ appears many times throughout the Bible.
    For example, you are to:

Seek the Lord with all your hearts (Psalm 119:2,10; Jeremiah 29:13; 2 Chronicles 15:15)
Follow the Lord with all your hearts (Numbers 32:12)
Obey the Lord with all your hearts (Psalm 119:34,69; 1 Chronicles 29:19)
Love the Lord with all your hearts (Deuteronomy 6:4–5; Matthew 22:36–38)
Turn to the Lord with all your hearts (Deuteronomy 30:10)
Return to the Lord with all your hearts (1 Samuel 7:3; Jeremiah 24:7; Joel 2:12)
Trust in the Lord with all your hearts (Proverbs 3:5)
Praise and extol the Lord with all your hearts (Psalm 111:1; 138:1)
Call on the Lord with all your hearts (Psalm 119:145)
Serve the Lord with all your hearts (Joshua 22:5; 1 Chronicles 28:9; Romans 1:9)
Walk faithfully before him with all your hearts (1 Kings 2:3)
Work for the Lord with all your hearts (Nehemiah 4:6; Colossians 3:23)
Rejoice with all your hearts (Zephaniah 3:14).

  30. 7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Patience is not my favorite word nor do I challenge God by praying for it. For instance if I pray for strength then I already know I’m requesting heavier weight weight. However, we cannot grow without resistance training (spiritually anyways). The same is for patience this is something that is tested and tried like gold going trough the fire to be purified. The Psalmist notes that we shouldn’t be worried or concerned about the matters of those that prosper from their wicked ways. The very vanity they value most will perish along with them. This is why we should value the rest the Lord gives us because He is eternal. Where our treasure is our heart will be also. If we live for Jesus then patiently waiting on Him is something we can delight in. We have joy and peace knowing we serve a God who wants what’s best for us.

  31. “The spacious, free life is from GOD, it’s also protected and safe. GOD -strengthened, we’re delivered from evil— when we run to him, he saves us.”
    ‭‭Psalm‬ ‭37:39-40‬ ‭MSG‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/97/psa.37.39-40.msg

No Julia refuges know who to call on in times of trouble in trial and tribulation Jesus will always make a way of escape we just have to stand faithful to his word and his promise for he is good and his mercy endures forever

  32. 23 The Lord directs the steps of the Godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. 24 Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.
34 Put your hope in the Lord. Travel steadily along his path. He will honor you by giving you the Land. You will see the wicked destroyed.
    Psalms 37:23-24 and 34 NLT

Those who follow the path of the Lord and obey and live in his ways are those who are blessed. Even though we struggle sometimes and we have to face scary moments in life that we struggle with, we must realize that we need to stand tall and strong for the Lord is on our side. The Lord puts trials in our lives to make us stronger and to grow our faith in him. Let us teach the ways of the Lord, let us show them that the wicked and evil never win, they will feel defeated. Let us show them the light and joy of the Lord, the strength and love the Lord has for them. Let us show them the truth and wining side!

  33. 1 Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.

2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.

3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

No matter what wrong is done unto you remain strong in him and know that god is in control. It may not feel right but we must remain strong and know that we serve a god who knows all. We must not get discouraged with the trials that come our way but must remain strong. We are over-comers we are not defeated!

“The Lord is my strength and my song; he has given me victory.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭118:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  34. Ps 37

“Be still before the LORD; wait patiently for Him and entrust yourself to Him; Do not fret (whine, agonize) because of him who prospers in his way, Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes. Cease from anger and abandon wrath; Do not fret; it leads only to evil. For those who do evil will be cut off, But those who wait for the LORD, they will inherit the land.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:7-9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

This is a great chapter to pause and reflect on. To really study it and apply it to our lives. Sometimes it’s not easy to wait patiently. But knowing that God has your best at heart and Assurance that He will see you through it, is priceless.

  35. “Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The psalmist tells us to depart from evil and do good which is to obey the Lord’s commandments and we shall dwell with Him forevermore. We know the truth of how good our God is so let make up in our mind that we are going to live like Jesus and to give Jesus to everyone.

  36. 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

If we love to serve the Lord it is not a job but a privilege. When we begin to surrender our will to His, it brings a joy and an assurance that you cannot replace. We know that if we go Gods way and do it His way, he has no choice but to make sure we come out on top.

  37. “Don’t worry about the wicked or envy those who do wrong. For like grass, they soon fade away. Like spring flowers, they soon wither. Trust in the Lord and do good. Then you will live safely in the land and prosper.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Thank you Jesus!!! All too often we forget to say thank you. We got too caught up in life as we see it here, and miss the big picture.

  39. Psalm Chapter 37

4 Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.

5 Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday.

7 Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

8 Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.

  40. 18 The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.

19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

He is a good Father. He is good period. He takes care of his children. He will not forsake those that are his. Psalms 27:10 says
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the Lord will take me up.
    Psalms 27:10 KJV

He always sees to it that you are take care off. Even when we run from him. The moment we turn our hearts to him, there he is, with arms wide open. There he is with that same love he welcomed you with from the first time. In the evil time, he is still a good God. A good father.

  41. 3 Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.

39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord: he is their strength in the time of trouble.
40 And the Lord shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

NEVER is a good time to “give up”.

When NEVER arrives, that will be a good time to give up.

Never – 1: not ever : at no time
2: not in any degree : not under any condition

  45. “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sometimes I think we try to make this scripture something that it’s not. This doesn’t mean that it’s a wish list come true. This means that when we think and act like God, we will have his desires, then our desires will come true. They will be the same desires as his, so they will come true.

  46. 16 A little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.
17 For the arms of the wicked shall be broken: but the Lord upholdeth the righteous.
18 The Lord knoweth the days of the upright: and their inheritance shall be for ever.
19 They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.

I love the verbiage of this passage, “. . . little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.” You may not have a lot, we may not have a lot, but what we have is better and worth more than the riches and possessions of many that are wicked. I’m not sure if this is literal or hypothetical, “. . . little that a righteous man hath is better than the riches of many wicked.”, but either way I would not want to be in the wicked category. “. . . They shall not be ashamed in the evil time: and in the days of famine they shall be satisfied.”

With Long life You will satisfy me, You will satisfy me, with long life
So I will praise you forever, only you can satisfy
When I call on, You will answer
When I fall, You will raise me up
    I’m protected, by Your shadow
Your so good, Your so good to me
    I will praise you forever
With Long life You will satisfy me, You will satisfy me, with long life

(In your presence) In your presence, (satisfied) satisfied
(I will live) I will live, (and not die) and not die
You are the source of my life and hope lover of my soul,
my future Holder, Daily sustainer, Past redeemer, forever and ever and ever

  47. 23 The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.
24 Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

When we give our lives to God. Our steps will be order by Him , as we surrender and follow His word. Yes we will have falls but the Lord will lift us up, strengthen our steps and help us grow into a better us. So as we go thru trials in our lives. We are not alone God is with us and we shall not fall.
