Proverbs 11

A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.

When pride cometh, then cometh shame: but with the lowly is wisdom.

The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.

11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.

12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

13 A talebearer revealeth secrets: but he that is of a faithful spirit concealeth the matter.

14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

15 He that is surety for a stranger shall smart for it: and he that hateth suretiship is sure.

16 A gracious woman retaineth honour: and strong men retain riches.

17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

18 The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to him that soweth righteousness shall be a sure reward.

19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.

20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the Lord: but such as are upright in their way are his delight.

21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.

22 As a jewel of gold in a swine’s snout, so is a fair woman which is without discretion.

23 The desire of the righteous is only good: but the expectation of the wicked is wrath.

24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.

27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

28 He that trusteth in his riches shall fall; but the righteous shall flourish as a branch.

29 He that troubleth his own house shall inherit the wind: and the fool shall be servant to the wise of heart.

30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

  1. Proverbs 11:30
The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

    The best example is JESUS
He showed us how to be influential wherever He went . We must realize that not everyone will come and some reject the Gospel just as in Jesus day.
To live and give Jesus we must to our best in every situation we find ourself in. There are people everywhere truly looking for something different and for someone that can lead them. Prayer and example love and understanding, and just sharing what God has done for you . Our Life is the Only Bible Some People Read , I pray that my life in Jesus will bring forth life in Jesus to others .

Share the Light Be the Light
    John 16:13
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

  2. 17 The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.

This is in line with a New Testament scripture that says, we will be judged with the judgement we give to others.

  3. Verses 20 MSG “God can’t stand deceivers, but oh how he relishes integrity.”

Deceiver – someone who leads you to believe something that is not true. beguiler, cheater, trickster, slicker, cheat. offender, wrongdoer – a person who transgresses moral or civil law.

Integrity – the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.

Verse 21 MSG “Count on this: The wicked won’t get off scot-free, and God’s loyal people will triumph.”

Wicked – evil or morally wrong.

Loyal – giving or showing firm and constant support, faithful, true, truehearted.

Proverbs 10:9 AMP “He who walks in integrity and with moral character walks securely, But he who takes a crooked way will be discovered and punished.” Psalm 101:6 VOICE “I will look for those who are loyal in the land so that they may live with me and know my pleasure. Whoever walks with integrity will enter my service. Same verse AMP “My eyes will be on the faithful (honorable) of the land, that they may dwell with me; He who walks blamelessly is the one who will minister to and serve me.”

  4. Prov.11: 24-25 [ amp ] There are those who
[ generously] scatter abroad, and yet increase more; there are those who withhold more there is fitting or what is justly due , But it results only in want.
[ 25] The liberal person shall be enriched, and he who waters shall himself be watered.
    God loves a cheerful giver.
Remember you going reap what sow.
Sow generously that blessings may come to someone.
    Be bless in Jesus name.

  5. 11 Upright citizens are good for a city and make it prosper, but the talk of the wicked tears it apart.

14 Without wise leadership, a nation falls; there is safety in having many advisers. NLT

Pray for our city, region, and nation. We need upright citizens and wise leadership or they will continue to become places we don’t even recognize.

  6. 30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

This is one of the great texts for soul winners in the Bible. It reminds us of the promise which Jesus made to Peter “you will catch men “ ( Like 5:10). What an unspeakable privilege it is to be used by God in doing work in a person’s lives that will result in eternal blessing! Every soul won to the Lord will be a worshiper of the Lamb of God forever and ever!

  7. 25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.
26 He that withholdeth corn, the people shall curse him: but blessing shall be upon the head of him that selleth it.
27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

This chapter seems to be centered around honesty and giving. It’s in the abundance that God gives us from our ability to give to others. It’s the way we treat each thing that God appoints us and it’s how we utilize every resource that we have. There are so many things in life that provide an example of this how God honors this principle. The reaping and the sewing. We don’t give because we have, we have because we give. God has always given honor and tribute to those who live honestly and have blessed those that were less fortunate. During the holiday season, let us remember where we have come from and what God has blessed us with so that we may continue to bless other people and be like a conduit.

  8. Live Jesus Give Jesus! We must be an example of Jesus to live Jesus and we must shine Jesus in order to give Jesus. Thank you Jesus for saving me and thank you for POFW to help keep me in the right track

  9. “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:24-25‬ ‭KJV

    Truth!!!
“And my God will liberally supply (fill until full) your every need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. To our God and Father be the glory forever and ever. Amen.”
    ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:19-20‬ ‭AMP

My GOD keeps me safe all around! When we sow into others, not just monetarily but most important to me is to spiritually in the lives of people. You will see that HE(GOD) refreshes you in times of loneliness, pain, athirst, and hungry for bread.

    • My sister how true are your words. The loneliest moments of life become filled with refreshing when we can share the drink of Living Water with someone who is feeling the same human emotions. We then truly can say I know a Savior who cares and will strengthen you.

  10. “As righteousness leads to life, So he who pursues evil pursues it to his own death.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

You have a choice. Follow Christ and live or don’t and die.

  11. The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

A lot of people don’t see this nor do they think for all the see is the wicked flourishing and the righteous struggle. We need to have Faith!!!! Faith that Jesus will give us victory.

Proverbs 13:22 A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just.
Job 27:15 Those that remain of him shall be buried in death: and his widows shall not weep.16 He may prepare it, but the just shall put it on; and the innocent shall divide the silver.

So fear not for at the end God will give the wick d what they deserve and the righteous shall reign with Him.

  12. 5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

When we walk in righteousness, that’s our opportunity to be a reflection of God’s perfection. We always hear that no one is perfect but yet the Bible says in several places that we are to strive for perfection with God and He can perfect our ways. Let’s walk today according to His Word, in righteousness, so that we may reflect Him. In doing that, it’s essentially Jesus^2 like Pastor has been teaching us and we will more effectively be able to Live and Give Jesus to our communities!!

  13. 14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

Careful who you get advice from. They might just lead astray. Just because they enter the house of GOD doesn’t mean but that they need JESUS just like we do

  14. 8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

God is able to turn your troubled situation around. It may look like nothing can be done, but my God is able. Even when it seems like you’ve lost all hope, God will step in and revive hope for you. Don’t fall to the tactics of the enemy. He desires to kill, steal and destroy. My God still has all power and no weapon formed against us shall prosper. Continue to trust in God and he will direct your path.

  15. The seeds of good deeds become a tree of life; a wise person wins friends.
    Proverbs 11:30 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/pro.11.30.NLT

Giving whether it’s money, time, talent, kind words, thoughtful actions it is sown in. We reap what we so. We grow where were planted. The seeds we plant we will get returned to us and multiplied.

  16. LIVE – GiVE JESUS
    SAFETY

14 Where no counsel is, the people fall: but in the multitude of counsellors there is safety.

Choices, decisions, responses all lead to failure or SAFETY. The path or plan to safety is found here in verse 14. The multitude of counselors, some proud and arrogant people make major life choices based on emotions or feelings and not on wisdom and knowledge.

I will briefly explain how I see and use the multitude of counselors for SAFETY.

    1. I surround myself with people that I trust. Meaning once a TRUST is built, I begin to share personal information to see if I can further trust them for counsel.
    2. When I have identified these people, I consult them by sharing opportunities and life challenges with them for their input.
    3. Once I obtain their input or suggestions, I present the opportunity to my Pastor, who has the final say or word on how I respond. I go to the counselors for a network of Prayer and so that I can better understand the challenge from different perspectives. But I know that my Pastor, the man of GOD who I have trusted my soul with will have the fainal say even if I like or strongly agree with the counsel.

So you may ask, why not skip the counsellors and just go to the Pastor. The answer is simple, the safety comes in accountability, if my thoughts are carnal, arrogant or pride motivated, the SAFETY of my counsellors will save me the time and humiliation of going to my Pastor. Here is the SAFETY.

Don’t be reckless with your future and soul, where there is no counsel the people fall. but there is SAFETY in the multitude of counsellors. If you have to hide a choice or decision, it will most likely lead to a fall.

  17. 12 He that is void of wisdom despiseth his neighbour: but a man of understanding holdeth his peace.

The scripture states that out of the heart the mouth speaks. There are many in the kingdom of God that look apostolic, dress apostolic, and can even act apostolic, but when they speak it lets you know that the inside is not apostolic. If we live Jesus, we have to be completely honest not only with our peers, but mainly with our selves. We have to live Jesus from the inside out. If we are full of the Holy Ghost then our actions, our speech, and our walk will reflect Jesus 24/7, 365 days a year. We have to think before we speak.

    Proverbs 15:4 states-
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.

Remember to live what you preach or your sins will simply find you out.

  18. Proverbs 11;19 (KJV)
“As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.”
    Proverbs 11:19 (NLT)
“Godly people find life; evil people find death.”

As I thought about these scriptures, St. Matt. 7:13-14 came to mind. There are only 2 ways to choice from. One way has a wide gate and a broad way that leads to destruction and death, while the second way has a strait gate and narrow way, but it leads to life.

So we all have a choice to make.
    Live righteously and find Life
    Or
    Live evil and find Death
    Which way will you choice??????

  19. iLove the Kingdom2
1 A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.

Jesus don’t like cheating. Jesus don’t like for folks to lie to one another and cheat them out of something that is rightfully theirs. In fact, cheating is an abomination to the Lord. The word Abomination in the Strongs Concordance means: something disgusting (morally), that is, (as noun) an abhorrence; especially idolatry or (concretely) an idol:

The issue with cheating is you are making an idol out of what you are taking and are sacrificing truth and justice on the way.

  20. 25 …….. and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.

AMP – 25 The generous man [is a source of blessing and] shall be prosperous and enriched, And he who waters will himself be watered [reaping the generosity he has sown].

    MSG – 25 The one who blesses others is abundantly blessed;
those who help others are helped.

Many of us have needs. I have heard it said many times “while you are ministering to others, your needs will also be met.” How true that is. While we are watering another soul with teaching, prayer, example and meeting their needs, God will minister to us.

  21. “With his mouth the godless man destroys his neighbor, But through knowledge and discernment the righteous will be rescued.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:9‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Mama always said if you’ve got nothing nice to say, don’t say it- little did I know this was biblical! We are God-fearing, Holy Ghost filled, joyfully anointed and we make up the body of Christ. I thank God for making us victories in progress- We may not be perfect but we are committed! I pray we choose to speak life over death in any situation and allow the Light of the World to shine through us

  22. 3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.
4 Riches profit not in the day of wrath: but righteousness delivereth from death.

So many wise sayings in Proverbs and verse 4 sums it up to me: in the end, what do you have? A life of sin, a life seeking the pleasures of sin ends badly – without God. But when we live for God and follow his ways we have an expected end-a life of his blessings AND our salvation. As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.

  23. The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.

7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

  24. 11:13 a talebearer reveals secrets
: but be that is of a faithful spirit
    Concealeth the matter.
    —-
    Who is my best friend?
Who is the one whom I am able to share
    EVERYTHING ?
    Yes, his name is Jesus!!!
With time we learn that not everyone is trustworthy
God will show us those in whom we can trust
And open up our heart to…
    Again, wisdom, beautiful wisdom.
Got to be wise to know…
    God is good!!!
    Lord help me
    Change me
    And use me🙏

  25. 6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.

Righteous compared to wicked. You see the comparisons and yet some people still will go with options or deductions that would put them in a wicked category or just wicked actions. Is it worth it?? I think not! A wicked man dies in the end and will perish. Yet where, “. . . The righteous is delivered out of trouble, . . .” I feel like it’s self explanatory and is simple math!!

9 An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.

So many feel as though they are doing right and are righteous, but then when no one is watching do the unthinkable. Hypocrites don’t get ahead, but rather left behind. Looked down upon. Sad.

  26. 27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favour: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

    Psalms 138:6
Though the LORD be high, yet hath he respect unto the lowly:
but the proud he knoweth afar off.

    Acts 10:34
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons:

Back then and even in today’s society….. Notoriety is a financial status. BUT the gift of eternal life was promised to all…. Rich or poor; sick or well, thin or fat, the perfect or the imperfect; young or old!!!!what would we do if the plan of Salvation had certain guidelines and/or restrictions?

  27. Proverbs 11:25
The generous will prosper;  those who refresh others will themselves be refreshed.

Help others that are in need and those who are less fortunate

  28. Proverbs 11:27 He that diligently seeketh good procureth favor: but he that seeketh mischief, it shall come unto him.

Is your glass half full or half empty? We can look for wisdom and goodness in all things, or mumble, complain and be unhappy in life. God gives us love, wisdom and righteousness. The enemy will keep you selfish, sad and doing evil. We have a choice to make, living for God or the enemy. What choice will you make?

Thank you dear Jesus for this day!

  29. 7 When a wicked man dieth, his expectation shall perish: and the hope of unjust men perisheth.

A wicked man’s expectation perish at death but the righteous get to live in the reality if their expectation because their hope was in God. There is no good thing that dwells in the flesh and when we walk in the flesh our expectations and hopes lie here on this earth and not in God and a eternal hope of being with Him. So if one die in wickedness their hope for a eternally great reward on heaven dies

  30. 31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.

The Lord sees all. And that which you sow you will reap from it. The word tells us to not loose heart when you see the wicked seem to prosper for the Lord will see to it and is a just judge. The same way, for the righteous God sees your investment in the Kingdom and your work of love for the ministry.

  31. “An hypocrite with his mouth destroyeth his neighbour: but through knowledge shall the just be delivered.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Your mouth can either speak life or death. There is power in our tongue. As Christians we must make sure that what we are saying is not destroying one another. As a body of believers we should be lifting one another up as Christ did. We are suppose to be a light unto those that are in the dark. We can not be a light if we are putting down one another in the church. We must always remember that we must uplift one another and spread the love of Jesus and let our light shine just like the song says “this little light of mine I’m gonna let it shine”. Your light can’t be shining if your tongue is speaking otherwise.

  32. 5 The godly are directed by honesty; the wicked fall beneath their load of sin.

8 The godly are rescued from trouble, and it falls on the wicked instead.
    Proverbs 11:5 & 8 NLT

Let us be guided by the Lord, let be a help to him, be trustworthy unto the Lord. Let us look up unto the Lord for when we are in trouble or in a low place struggling show him that you have your faith and trust in him always. Let us not fall into the temptation of this evil world for the enemy will try his hardest to try and bring you down no matter what. Speak the words of the Lord and speak from his true word, spread the light. Show those lost in this world that the wicked don’t rise in victory, they lose and will suffer with their sins. Trust in the Lord always for his mercy endures forever, and he will save you from all you enemies. Really to help guide those to him daily and to seek his word daily and to grow more in him daily.

  33. In this chapter it was talking about how we serve one God. God deserves all that we have and more. We must give him his part in our daily lives, and always remember that he loves us. We give offerings to thank him, and it also helps to church. God is free, but church is not. For us to always have a good time in our anointed church we give offerings to support that. We have a wonderful church family that come together with great ideas for activities and events. We must know that even though that we are not maybe being too involved we must give God our ALL!

  34. 5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.

Just doing the right thing is a novel idea? It seems that the right thing would be easily identified and chosen by the majority but we see in our world that it gets complicated fir some. There are absolutes in our walk with God that when followed, the lead us to victory every time

  35. “Your kindness will reward you, but your cruelty will destroy you. Evil people get rich for the moment, but the reward of the godly will last.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/pro.11.17-18.nlt

Let’s exalt one in another today and encourage someone in the Holy Ghost let’s use words of affirmation and in this season let’s show people what God can give them. The greatest gift of all…the gift of the Holy Ghost. God can use you and your testimony so be kind and love one another and share the gospel from how you received it.

  36. “The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭11:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Ever wonder why some things are happening? Sometimes we bring things upon ourselves. The way that we behave doesn’t just affect those that we act that way with. God sees what we do. When we are merciful to that person that gets on our last nerve he gives mercy to us in another area. When we last out because “I can’t believe you just did that,” we have less mercy shown to us. Mercy is like forgiveness. When we give it, it is given to us.

“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭5:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  37. 5The godly are directed by honesty;
the wicked fall beneath their load of sin.

The righteous will always want to do what is right. It will come easy, and won’t even have to think about doing wrong. You’ll automatically do what is right with God.

  38. Proverbs 11
I am using the words righteousness it is used in this chapter many times.
Gods righteousness was displayed by His covenants commandments in the Old Testament. In the New Testament it is displayed in the New covenant through Jesus and the gospel. For it is in the Gospel and in living the commandments as Jesus said if you love me keep my commandments .

3 The integrity of the upright shall guide them:
5 The righteousness of the perfect shall direct his way: but the wicked shall fall by his own wickedness.
6 The righteousness of the upright shall deliver them: but transgressors shall be taken in their own naughtiness.
8 The righteous is delivered out of trouble, and the wicked cometh in his stead.
10 When it goeth well with the righteous, the city rejoiceth: and when the wicked perish, there is shouting.
11 By the blessing of the upright the city is exalted: but it is overthrown by the mouth of the wicked.
19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death.
21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.
30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.
31 Behold, the righteous shall be recompensed in the earth: much more the wicked and the sinner.
