Proverbs 12

Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

He that is despised, and hath a servant, is better than he that honoureth himself, and lacketh bread.

10 A righteous man regardeth the life of his beast: but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.

11 He that tilleth his land shall be satisfied with bread: but he that followeth vain persons is void of understanding.

12 The wicked desireth the net of evil men: but the root of the righteous yieldeth fruit.

13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

14 A man shall be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth: and the recompence of a man’s hands shall be rendered unto him.

15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

16 A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.

17 He that speaketh truth sheweth forth righteousness: but a false witness deceit.

18 There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.

19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

20 Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

21 There shall no evil happen to the just: but the wicked shall be filled with mischief.

22 Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight.

23 A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

24 The hand of the diligent shall bear rule: but the slothful shall be under tribute.

25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

  1. 1 To learn, you must love discipline; it is stupid to hate correction.

14 Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards.

15 Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others. NLT

Discipline and correction are sometimes hard pills to swallow, but good medicine for our lives; just be careful who you allow to speak into your life. If you accept correction from a fool, you could end up just like them.

  2. 26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

Often the youth from poverty stricken areas are tempted to follow the wrong path to gain upward moblity. The path of righteousness is a lesson that the Church is obligated to impart, which is one reason youth ministry is vital.

  3. 25Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

The heaviness here is described as sorrow or anxiety for something that effects our walk with God. But in the sense of conviction that heaviness is described in the heart of a man that makes us stoop. The word stoop in the Hebrew is described as follows:

    shâchâh
    shaw-khaw’
A primitive root; to depress, that is, prostrate (especially reflexively in homage to royalty or God): – bow (self) down, crouch, fall down (flat), humbly beseech, do (make) obeisance, do reverence, make to stoop, worship.

The conviction of the Holy Ghost should make us want to stoop, or ( bow down, fall down, or even worship) before God and make sure that whatever is affecting our spirit, our spirit, our minds, or our attitudes. We have to rebuild our altars and make sure they are in good repair for the presence of God and there is nothing strange on it as we offer sacrifices of praise to him. We need to come to a place to where nothing will hinder the move of God’s spirit. We are a vessel that God will pour his spirit into. But if we are full of other things there will be no room for God. We have to decrease ourselves to the point there is no room for nothing except God.

It is time for us to be the church of the living God and to be the example for those that need saving in this tumultuous world that we are living in. It is time for us to live Jesus to the extreme that Jesus is all that this world will see in us. It’s time to be bold for Jesus.

  4. 14 Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards. I love this blog. I got the hard works part but still working on the wise words……..except when the Holy Ghost steps in!

  5. Proverbs 12

1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.

6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.

7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

8 A man shall be commended according to his wisdom: but he that is of a perverse heart shall be despised.

  6. 4 A virtuous woman is a crown to her husband: but she that maketh ashamed is as rottenness in his bones.

Be an asset to your husband. Always be there to support, encourage, appreciate, and love your husband. A men that has a nagging wife is always wanting to be away from home. Doesn’t want to go anywhere with her and there is no joy in his life. May we all learn to make a haven for our husbands at home, that he may feel loved at all times. In Jesus. Name
    Amen 🙏🏻

  7. 13 The wicked is snared by the transgression of his lips: but the just shall come out of trouble.

Seen it time and time again!!!
I can surely say that GOD IS JUST!!! AND HE IS ALIVE AND WELL!!! HALELUJAH!!!

  8. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.
16 A fool’s wrath is presently known: but a prudent man covereth shame.

You can summarize a lot of the issues going on right now with people who refuse to be wrong. So many people who will not look at the facts because they would rather be right in their own eyes than see what is right. Pride truly is the fall of Man. Not willing to lay it down for the sake of Truth. As a philosophy I have tried to live by, I would rather seek what is Right rather than seek to find ways to be right. You can be wrong with the right attitude just as much as you can be right with the wrong one. Ask christians, we must lay down our pride to seek the heavenly Host to guide us in what is right at all times

  9. “Fools have short fuses and explode all too quickly; the prudent quietly shrug off insults.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:16‬ ‭MSG‬‬

If you don’t want to look and sound like a fool , think before you speak.

  10. 28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Part of righteousness is being wise and verse 15 says to seek counsel is wise. In all things, pray and seek wisdom from your authorities. If we are wise in the decisions of life, we will surely walk the path of righteousness.

  11. 28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

We choose life and the path the Lord has given us to follow. This path is the blessed life, the best life. We keep his commands and when we sin, we have an advocate-Jesus, who gives us time and chance to repent. His mercy is fresh and new each morning.

  12. 25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

26 The righteous is more excellent than his neighbour: but the way of the wicked seduceth them.

27 The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.

28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

Some would say “the grass is always greener on the other side” my grandmother added this to it “just because the grass looks greener doesn’t mean it tastes any sweeter!” …. we get caught up in the glitz and glitter of the world that we start lacking in the things is God. Help me, Lord to remember my purpose in this end time!

  13. 15 The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.

Sometimes we think that our way is the “correct way”, “the only way” or the “must be way”. But to truly know we must seek Gods counsel first and Pastor/leadership counsel. Listen and do!! For it will bring you good. We will gain wisdom to help others who are in the same circumstances we were once in.

  14. 19 The lip of truth shall be established forever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Truth is eternal. Why? Because the truth is what God says about a thing; therefore, it never changes. A lying tongue lasts as long as. Wink.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  15. Wise words bring many benefits, and hard work brings rewards. Fools think their own way is right, but the wise listen to others. A fool is quick-tempered, but a wise person stays calm when insulted.
    Proverbs 12:14‭-‬16 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/pro.12.14-16.NLT

I’m so grateful for the wisdom of the Lord is n my life. It truly is a lamp unto my feet.

  16. Proverbs 12
    Disciplines of Life
Look through the heart of God.
His instruction knowledge brings wisdom and even His reproof is filled with promises .
All He wants for is to follow His Word
Simply stated since Proverbs speaks of foolish and wise actions.
Could it be that a Fool for Christ has become filled with the Wisdom that Jesus speaks of . Who in their right mind likes to be reprimanded. It had the by ability to belittle , shame and causes some to retreat . When truly it is meant to encourage uplift and restore self worth and value for the Kingdom and for self.
We do have to desire all the attributes of Christ and many times they come through experiences and more so through self discipline.
Not to destroy but to lead to Life more abundantly!
Wisdom tells us to love instruction

Proverbs 12 Whoever loves instruction loves knowledge,
But he who hates correction is stupid.
    Ouch that truly hurts sometimes.
Better to be led and corrected than to be left to self will and end up spiritually dead.

  17. 13:16,18,20 the [arrogant] folks anger is quickly known [ because he lacks self control and common sense] but a prudent man, ignores the insult.

There is one who speaks rashly like the thrust of a sword. But the tongue of the wise, brings healing.

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, but concepts of peace have joy.

    —-
    Hallelujah 🙌
Alright, no need to get in arguments
No need to prove myself( yourself)righteous

The wisdom in the person[ in me]
The love of God in the person[ in me, in you]
The peace and joy within me( you)
👉🏼…That These things may dwell inside us
    And become our character.
Then we would not feel we have respond back
    and be a fool too.

Then they will see, noticed something is different
    In us.
    Hallelujah 😀.

    God is good!!!
Thank you Lord for your word
Thank you Lord for your teachings.
    In Jesus name😀
👉🏼 BE FULL OF THE HOLY GHOST TODAY!

  18. 5 The thoughts of the righteous are right: but the counsels of the wicked are deceit.
6 The words of the wicked are to lie in wait for blood: but the mouth of the upright shall deliver them.
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

He will judge in righteousness in the presence of all and men and angels, and his final judgement will be just damnation to everlasting punishment for the wicked and a gracious gift of life everlasting to the righteous.

Better to live a righteous life than to go to the pits of hell.

  19. “Good people are kind to their animals, but a mean person is cruel.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:10‬ ‭CEV‬‬

This verse right here has been tossed around lately.
I believe that in how you treat your animal says a lot about your character as a person.

  20. “Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There are times that our hearts will hurt. The physical weight caused by emotional baggage is surreal. But, we serve a God who says we don’t have to wallow in our heaviness or attend our own pity party because a good word maketh [the heart] glad. Known some places as the ‘Good Book’, I thank God for the Bible- His Living Word! We can go to a scripture and receive wisdom and revelation. The Word won’t return void. The Word is Jesus.

I thank God He knows how to mend a broken heart. I pray we run to Him in any hurt we experience. This way we can recieve healing and make an effort to not hurt someone else in return

  21. “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I have often seen foolish things happen and then heard people say, “ I just don’t see why that didn’t work.” I think sometimes God allows us to see those foolish things naturally so that we can realize how foolish it actually was. I have sometimes also seen that same person that did the foolish activity then listen to advise of someone who knows better and then they show wisdom too.

Just like in the natural we can make spiritual foolish choices and spiritual wise choices. It is prudent for us to listen to the wisdom that God allow us to have before us so that we don’t become spiritual fools. Someone who is spiritually foolish has more to lose than someone who just is embarrassed naturally. Spiritual foolishness can lead to self or someone else turning away from God. Eternity is a long time to pay for foolishness.

  22. Prov. 12: 25 [ amp] Anxiety in a man’s heart weighs it down , but an encouraging word makes it glad.
Prov.15:13 [ amp] A glad heart make a cheerful countenance, But by sorrow of heart the spirit is broken
Prov.17: 22 [ amp] A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful minds works healing , But a broken spirit dries up the bones.
    Dont worry be Happy !
Regardless of want is going on in this world.
Make yourself Happy and Be Happy of what God has done for you.
Think on the goodness of Lord.
    The Bible tells us so.
Be good and love one another has the Lord loves us.

  23. Proverbs 12
7 The wicked are overthrown, and are not: but the house of the righteous shall stand.

This verse reminds me of a parable.
Mat 7:24 ¶ Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:
Mat 7:25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
We are builders by our faith, spoken words, and actions. the first are building a structure built In a relationship in Jesus. Others build a structure based on Pride and love of them selves as God. This structure will always fail for it is built and sand.

The structure always stand for it is based on the foundation of the Rock that is Jesus and his word. All of our works must be given to Jesus for his praise and Glory. Our foundation is in Jesus and his word.

For many will come to Jesus saying I have done all these great works even in your name and even Jesus will say I do not know you. Depart into everlasting darkness. Let us choose every day who we serve.

  24. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Pro 12:23  A prudent man concealeth knowledge: but the heart of fools proclaimeth foolishness.

Wow. Think about it 🤔. Why does a prudent man conceal knowledge? I reckon there are several reasons, but here are a couple. The Word says “knowledge puffeth up”. This simply means that knowledge brings pride as a negative byproduct. Those who conceal know have learned to walk in humility. Example: how many like to be around a “know it all?”

  25. TLB – 18 Some people like to make cutting remarks, but the words of the wise soothe and heal.

We find in this chapter the parallel of two different worlds. Good vs evil, life vs death, work vs lazy, righteous vs unrighteousness, good words vs bad words, good attitude vs bad attitude.

We all have a choice to make even with our words. We can influence people to do good or influence them to do otherwise. How we say and what we say carries influence. Not only stood we choose our words wisely, but the attitude and action with which we say them.

    Proverbs 18:21
Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.

  26. Proverbs 12:18, “There is that speaketh like the piercing of a sword: but the tongue of the wise is health.”

How true the scripture is that says, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue:…” (Prov. 18:21).
Some people, when they speak, only use their tongue – their words to hurt, tear down, destroy, or speak evil of others, while there are others who use their words wisely and bring health, encouragement, and strength to others.

Oh be careful little mouth what you say.
Use your words wisely. Give life and healing to someone.
    Live JESUS – Give JESUS

  27. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    LIFE

28 In the way of righteousness is life: and in the pathway thereof there is no death.

The definition of LIFE will vary by individual. Values, convictions, excitement and personality all define LIFE of our own personal interpretation. The Proverb here reveals that LIFE is found in the way of righteousness. To me this means that if people choose not to live righteous, then their definition of LIFE is incomplete.

Existing outside of JESUS means not knowing LIFE.

John 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Choose the path of Righteousness today, avoid shady deals, questionable stories, deceptive practices and selfish ambitions.

  28. Proverbs 12:19 The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.

Truth lasts; lies are here today, gone tomorrow. MSG

    Always be truthful.

  29. “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, But he who heeds counsel is wise.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

As a leader we should surround ourselves with good godly counsel. There are times that our heart could lead us astray. At the time it may some like its a good idea but in the end it’s a Disaster. Surround yourself with the council of Gods word and the Holy Ghost and godly friends.

  30. Proverbs 12:25
Worry weighs a person down; an encouraging word cheers a person up.

    1 Thessalonians 5:11
So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing.

  31. 1To learn, you must love discipline;
it is stupid to hate correction.

No one likes discipline, we all want to do something our way. But in the long run, discipline will make you a better person. It may not feel like it, but it will.

  32. 6 The words of the wicked are like a murderous ambush, but the words of the godly save lives.

26 The godly give good advice to their friends; the wicked lead them astray.
    Proverbs 12:6 & 26 NLT

God created us to grow and be in his image, he wants to use us to save those lost in sin and lost in this evil world. He shined his light on his faithful ones and wants us to spread his light and his word to those lost in this dark world, to those seeking desperately for help. Daily the Lord fills his people with strength, joy, peace, and light there is not a day the Lord isn’t helping or guiding us. Let us be willing to learn from our mistakes of our sins and listen to the discipline the Lord gives us, for he knows how to help us grow and how to guide us. Remember we are his image, spread his word to the lost help save and show them the righteous path of the Lord.

  33. 25 Heaviness in the heart of man maketh it stoop: but a good word maketh it glad.

This is why we must get in the word of God. His words are life.

  34. Proverbs 12:25 Worry wears a person down; an encouraging word cheers s person up.

“Don’t worry about anything: instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he ha done. Philippians 4:6

Many people worry about our children, parents, spouses and friends. Worries keep us from experiencing the abundant life God has given us.
    Don’t borrow trouble!
Thank you Jesus for this day!!!

  35. 3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

When a tree has strong, deep roots it is not easily moved. As the children of God, we must stay rooted in his word. We can not loose focus on what God wants us to do. There are many souls that need people that are rooted in the word of God to show them the way.

  36. 3 A man shall not be established by wickedness: but the root of the righteous shall not be moved.

The reward of the wicked will never be a good end for in the end there is destruction. The wicked is double minded and unstable in his ways. Yet the righteous is established or rooted and grounded in the word of God. The same Word that is God and was before the foundation of this world.

  37. In this chapter I think it was trying to say we as human beings have our own nature and knowledge. We have the ability to think and say what we want. This is our flesh. We can choice to do righteous or unrighteousness things. We can be wicked or willing. I hope that you choose to do what’s best for your own being and the others around you. Just know that your decisions and actions may affect someone else. Let’s make sure we are being worthy and righteous if his glory and honor!

  38. The thoughts of the righteous are right, But the counsels of the wicked are deceitful. The words of the wicked are, “Lie in wait for blood,” But the mouth of the upright will deliver them. The wicked are overthrown and are no more, But the house of the righteous will stand.
    Proverbs 12:5‭-‬7 NKJV

The change that the Holy Ghost does in our lives is to want and strive to be righteous. The Spirit will lead us to be transformed by the renewing of our mind. ( Romans 12:1-2). Instead of our old deceitful and wicked nature that always went with our will and our wants. We didn’t care who we lied to or hurt. What mattered is that we got what we wanted no matter the cost. His Spirit will always preserve His own righteous men and women. They and their house will endure that which would overthrow the house of the wicked.

  39. 1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.

You know that someone truly loves you if they take the time to correct you. I spend a lot of my time with elders or those who have greater anointing than me because I love the instruction. Those who get anywhere in the Kingdom have sat underneath someone who can instruct them.

  40. Proverbs 12:3 MSG “You can’t find firm footing in a swamp, but life rooted in God stands firm.”Do not get caught in the swamp of deceit; but, rather stay focused on God and stand firmly on His word.

  41. 1 Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish.
2 A good man obtaineth favour of the Lord: but a man of wicked devices will he condemn.

When I was in bible quizzing as a child I learned this chapter one year with the curriculum. And I could never figure out what reproof meant, until one day instead of just memorizing and saying it, I decided to look it up in several dictionaries.

    re·proof1 /rəˈpro͞of/ noun
    1. an expression of blame or disapproval.

With this it explained so very much and i have applied the theory to my own life. “Whoso loveth instruction loveth knowledge: but he that hateth reproof is brutish. . .” I have strived to not be offended when I receive instruction, constructive criticism, and or disapproval from some people. I want to be seen as the first part of this verse rather than the latter. Lord, help me to keep a good head on my shoulders and take instruction, constructive criticism, and or disapproval with grace and understanding that it will make me a better person in the end.

  42. “No harm comes to the godly, but the wicked have their fill of trouble.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭12:21‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/pro.12.21.nlt

I’m thankful I’m able to wake up in the mornings knowing God has got every under control. Sometimes we find ourselves worrying about the things God can take full control over. It’s pretty interesting when you sit and think about your own process when you seem to get in a bind or start to face a trial. Are you gonna panic or are you gonna let God take care of the godly…
