Proverbs 14

Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

In the mouth of the foolish is a rod of pride: but the lips of the wise shall preserve them.

Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.

Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.

The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.

Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour.

10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.

11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

13 Even in laughter the heart is sorrowful; and the end of that mirth is heaviness.

14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself.

15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

17 He that is soon angry dealeth foolishly: and a man of wicked devices is hated.

18 The simple inherit folly: but the prudent are crowned with knowledge.

19 The evil bow before the good; and the wicked at the gates of the righteous.

20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

22 Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth shall be to them that devise good.

23 In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.

24 The crown of the wise is their riches: but the foolishness of fools is folly.

25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies.

26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

28 In the multitude of people is the king’s honour: but in the want of people is the destruction of the prince.

29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

31 He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

32 The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: but the righteous hath hope in his death.

33 Wisdom resteth in the heart of him that hath understanding: but that which is in the midst of fools is made known.

34 Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.

35 The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

  1. 5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

A simple yet difficult concept for so many people. Telling One lie requires 20 more lies to cover the original not to mention having to keep track of everything to make sure it all lines up. My father taught me long ago to just come clean immediately and accept consequences. Every time I just told my dad the truth and didn’t hesitate I would always receive a much lesser punishment and my dad would be proud that I just told him. Each time someone tells a lie it makes the listener doubt everything that person has ever said. I’ve been in situations where people were offended that I did not trust him in one situation because they had lied to me in another and they did not understand why. As Christians, we should be known for our honesty and integrity in all situations

  2. 6 A scorner seeketh wisdom, and findeth it not: but knowledge is easy unto him that understandeth.
26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.

The Church’s responsibility to guide its youth toward a path of wisdom and faith establishes the future of the Church. One the most dangerous places the youth can go is to public univerity because of the exposure to different view points and doctrines of faith. For that reason, it is imperative to establish a grounding of the Word, through memerization of scriputure, to thwart deception.

  3. Lying that extends is usually a habit. My best teacher is experience. Habitual lying is offensive to all who listens to it. It dissolves ones integrity and damages their reputation. There is a lot of reference in the Bible that teaches against lying.

  4. 12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

The path in which men walk always seem to be the best when they are successful in everything they do. They have a tendency to put everything they have into being on a ladder of success to rise above the next man. But the end of that path usually ends in destruction. The very essence of the man is what he has accomplished for himself. The way becomes prideful and arrogant. But if the Lord orders our steps, then our success is based upon his will and his path that even though may lead to the point of dying, we still will be in the position to inherit eternal life. We must not worry about the flesh of this world and all that we can achieve personally, but what we can achieve spiritually for the kingdom of God. We must allow God to have complete control. Because of the path we walk and what we put our trust in, determines on where we will be eternally. I shall choose Jesus even though I may not be rich in materialistic items, but I will be rich spiritually. So I choose Jesus.

  6. 1 Every wise woman buildeth her house: but the foolish plucketh it down with her hands.

A women can make a home out of a house, a haven for her husband to come and be carefree, a nurturing environment for her children to be guided with love and understanding. On the other hand she can also make a hell. A place were the husband is nagged and frustrated. A place where the children run wild without any discipline. You have seen them, running kids without manners and the mother just sits there taking about the latest gossip, and all you wish is for her to get up and tell her kid to stop bullying yours. Lord forbid you step in and discipline the little brat she comes out like a momma bear to defend them because is never their kid’s fault. Seen so many of them when I was a teacher that all I could do was pray. Proverb 22: 6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverb 13: 24 He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Let’s build a home, a haven, a place of love and security!!! In Jesus Name Amen

    The Blueprint of Life
Will I follow the Plan God has laid out so beautifully.
Joy to The World The Lord Has Come
He came with a plan from the beginning to the end .
I pray I choose wisely and use the tools of His Word daily .
    1. Building
    2. Walking
    3. Talking

Three important aspects of life . The hands , the feet and the mouth . We as individuals have a choice to build up or tear down . We have the ability to give life or to destroy.
What will I choose to do.
I pray that I build up and walk in peace and speak with a voice of encouragement even when correction and instruction is given . If I am truly going to Live Give Jesus 2 I must do my best to follow His great example.
Jessie Johnson before doing any project would sit at a table with a blank piece of paper. He would then begin to draw out each detail . It amazed me how he knew the exact measurements and when he was finished he had this entire construction or reconstruction of a house all drawn out. With aspiration and excitement he would show me and try to explain but not until I had the privilege of going to the site and see the work involved and the finished project could I truly respect what he had drawn on the paper . It’s the same way with living our life . We can read these Proverbs, the blueprint written by the hand of God and finish wisely. Jessie can tell you he would go back snd try to see where in the blueprint he hadn’t followed if a mistake or something was turning out just right . Take a closer look at the Word don’t just let it be words without direction. A blueprint of life .

  9. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox

The ox is a symbol of strength, productivity, and increase. This is because mankind has learned to tame this beast and make it obey when fitted with a plow. Think about this, what if man would have just let the ox 🐂 chill and eat grass… while that’s nice folks would have starved. But instead we made the ox do something it didn’t want to do and thereby received great harvest.

This principle is true with our flesh. While it is fun to eat, drink, and be marry that just don’t bring in the harvest. We must force ourselves to get out there and work! Put the plow on our backs, get to outreach and bring in the harvest.

  10. 26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

The best confidence we could ever have is in Jesus. No matter where we feel like we’re lacking, God is always there. When we are weak, He is strong! Fear the Lord, honor Him, praise Him! He is our refuge and strength!

  11. 29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalteth folly.

We should strive each day to be slow to anger, thinking things through first, before we speak-so we can respond correctly and not merely react in anger.

  12. 30 A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones.

Learning to keep and maintain our heart clean from all envy, will help us to be of good attitude and in good. Be strong in the Lord! Keep a healthy and vigour heart and your whole heart will always be happy.

  13. Proverbs 14:4
Without oxen a stable stays clean, but you need a strong ox for a large harvest.

When it comes to owning oxen, there are disadvangates. They eat a lot. They can be expensive and time-consuming to keep. If you don’t have any oxen, you can save a lot of time and expense. Consider having a “clean manger” The Hebrew term translated “manger” ’ebus means a “feeding-trough. oxen are the tools for an abundant harvest.

    Here are two principles:

get the right tools for the job you need to do, and

the cost of the right tool is worth it.

This is true for both material and spiritual work.

Christians can reap an “abundant harvest” by using tools of a spiritual nature. Good books, study materials, and evangelism aids are invaluable. The job is to learn, love, and live the Bible.

Jesus I pray for a great harvest in our nation in Jesus name

  14. The Harvest is messy!

4 Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.

I grew up on a dairy in Alvarado Texas. We had up to 300 heifers at a time. My job as a little boy was to clean the stalls. There was always a mess but I was raised that it had to be done so there was no question if I was going to clean the stall or not. Now that I’m older looking back I realize that if those stalls weren’t dirty, that would mean those heifers weren’t producing milk, and our family would have went hungry. You got to deal with the mess to get the harvest. When we bring in mew believers, they are not going to be perfect. They are going to make a mess and we are going to clean it up because that is our job. If there is no mess, we are not having harvest and the Kingdom is starving. So rejoice when you see a mess. Praise God that we have a mess to clean up.

    The harvest is messy!

    Merry Christmas!
    We love you all!

  15. “God-devotion makes a country strong; God-avoidance leaves people weak.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:34‬ ‭MSG‬‬

When we come together as a nation, a GOD fearing nation, our eyes will see the truth prevail. Revival in our cities, revival in our homes, and prodigal children coming home. Hallelujah! Church we cannot afford to sit back and allow the enemy takeover in what Christ has given us. Not today satan!!!!

“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  16. Proverbs 14:26-27
    26) In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place
    of refuge.
    27) The fear of the LORD is a fountain of life,…

When we truly learn to fear the LORD, when we learn to Honor, Reverence, be in Awe, Respect, Love Him, etc…, then we will learn to have confidence, Belief, Trust and Faith in Him, and that confidence will grow and become strong confidence in Him. When we fear the LORD and have strong confidence in Him, then He becomes a place of Refuge for us, a place of Shelter, Safety, and Protection for us.
When we learn to fear the LORD and have strong confidence in Him, He then becomes our Fountain of Life. He is our Life!

    Thank You JESUS!
I Honor You. I Worship You. I Praise Your Holy Name today!
Thank You JESUS that my confidence is in You!
Thank You JESUS that You are my Refuge!
Thank You JESUS for You are my Fountain of Life!

    “Merry Christmas POFW family”
    Be blessed in JESUS today!!!!!

  19. 25 A true witness delivereth souls: but a deceitful witness speaketh lies

Our purpose as holy ghost filled, Jesus name baptized people is to be witnesses to those who don’t know the fullness of truth, leading them to a deeper relationship with God.

Yet this is so hard for many people. It is time we became confident in our testimony enough to share it everywhere we go. We must not hide our light under a bushel any longer. The end is near. It’s time to tell everyone we meet about this Jesus that we know and love. No one should be exempt. Find your voice, find your testimony, find the end road in every conversation so that you can share what Jesus has done in your life. Don’t muddy the waters with so many side stories that you take the focus off the true testimony. Be a light and a witness so that souls can be delivered from the depths of sin into a life of love, joy and peace.

  20. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    FAVOR

35 The king’s favour is toward a wise servant: but his wrath is against him that causeth shame.

Favor reveals itself in unique and different ways. Most people upon hearing the word FAVOR immediately think about riches, possessions or positions. But, The Kings Favor has little to do with those things. Good Stewardship has much to do with riches and possessions.

The KING’s FAVOR is more about spiritual authority to accomplish Kingdom Advancement. When we pray for FAVOR do we pray to be established and elevated in The Kingdom of GOD or man?

A WISE servant will understand which Kingdom to SERVE in. The Kingdom of GOD or the kingdom of man (This world). Many hard working people have found FAVOR in the kingdom of man. But those WISE in the WORD of GOD will find FAVOR in The Kingdom of GOD.

I seek the FAVOR of The Kingdom of GOD.

    iRepent
    iPraise
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive

  21. Proverbs 14:29 He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty in spirit, exalteth folly.

We must think before we speak. Anger causes many issues. God will forgive us if we forgive others. If you keep anger in your heart, you will be miserable. We should follow Jesus and love one another!
Happy birthday Jesus and thank you for this day.

  22. 21 He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy is he.

    31. He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor.

    Mark 10:21
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

There are so many hurting and lost people/families trying there best to survive in the ever choactic world! God is asking us to be His arms and reach out to the lost, dying and unforgotten souls. God help me to begin with myself and family to reach out to those in need and give them JESUS!

    #liveJesus #giveJesus #SQUARED

  23. “He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the Lord: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As long as we walk in righteousness and fear the lord we will remain in his will. We must make sure on this walk with him that we don’t find ourself falling by the wayside. We must always make sure that we stay rooted and grounded in him. We stay routed and grounded by continually reading his word and praying to him every day. Just like we feed our natural bodies daily to be strong and stay healthy we must feed ourself spiritually daily so that we can stay healthy and remain in his will.

  24. 26 In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge.
27 The fear of the Lord is a fountain of life, to depart from the snares of death.

God is our strong tower, He is our refuge in the time of trouble, He is always with us, He gives us confidence to be a witness for Him.
Everyday we should rely on the Lord to strengthen us.

  25. 15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

Can’t believe everything you hear. We must seek for truth. Truth can be found when you look for it in the right place. Allow the Lord to lead you to all truth. Stand with what is right and don’t let sin reign. For our God is not the author of confusion.

  26. “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s dangerous to follow our heart or what we think is right without seeking guidance from God. Our heart will mess us up every time. I know for me a quick glance from someone could have my thoughts raving about how they don’t like me or are mad at me, when, in reality they weren’t even looking at me. That may seem juvenile but our heart will get our feelings to take an absurd thought and run with it. When we read His Word and seek His council we decrease ourselves so that His Will would overpower what our flesh wants to do. So instead of making a fool out of myself, the Jesus in me let’s me stop and think.

I thank Hod for His Spirit within us! I pray we heed His voice- He has our best interest at heart

  27. 15 The simple believeth every word: but the prudent man looketh well to his going.

16 A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.

Many throughout their lives have exclaimed that they dont really have much time. Yet God is his loving ways gives time to all to know him. Yet in the end the decision is to every individual to make. Let us look at this year that is coming to conclusion. Very different, unique, hard in some ways but time we all have had. Time is a great and precious blessing. To some, even loved ones their time in this earthly realm ended. Now a prudent man looketh to his going. What have you done with the time? Did you have time to know Him? Did you have time to get to reading his Word? To pray to seek him, to worship? Everywhere that you read in the bible you see a moment, a space of time. Time in which someone can repent and turn back to the Lord.

Now is even more crucial to know Truth. There are many out there that are boldly proclaiming their ideas, their doctrines, they “knowledge”…. yet there is only One Way one Truth, One life. The only way to the Father is through Jesus. Now, you were made to sit at home, whether in quarantine or cause it was mandated or you were sick. This has been an opportunity to look to the heavens from which your help comes from. This is the time to talk to the one whom created the world, the one that one that wonderfully and fearfully made you. Yet still He gives us the choice. Will we seek Him? Or will be entertaining the flesh? We must know that who ever you feed the most will be stronger and will win your inner battle. The spirit man or your carnal man again the choice is ours. We cannot just believe everything we come across, but do we discern in the word and align it to it? Times are a precious blessing yet we must decide wisely.

  28. “Escape quickly from the company of fools; they’re a waste of your time, a waste of your words.”
    Proverbs 14:7 MSG

Depart from sin turn to the Lord. God has already promise great things for us. Repent of your sins and make up in your mind that you are not turning back. For all sin wants to do in your life is destroyed your relationship with God and push you far away from Gods grace. Sin will promise you anything you want earthy. Be not deceived the only thing sin produces is death and will lead you to the gates of hell. Follow the Lord will, be obedient and be submitted to God. Trust in God for His ways and works are perfect and in Him is life, everlasting love and peace.

  29. In this chapter it was talking about the wise and how to build your house on good land. Building a house or shelter is not that easy. For example if you build your house on sand over time it will drift away and your house will be ruined. If you build your house on good land like a grassy field it will last. We must take this into consideration on building our house of God in our hearts. Take a moment and think……is your house built on lies and wickedness, it is your house built upon grace and forgiveness? This question must be apart of all we do and make sure we are pleasing God with our hands, mouth, and praise!

  30. 12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

The ways of God are greater than our own. We would do well to follow His path and not what we desire because our own ways will lead us to death but His will lead us go eternal life.

  31. Proverbs 14:14 The backslider in heart shall be filled with his own ways: and a good man shall be satisfied from himself .

Praying for the backslider to get tired of his own ways and become a good man and live for Jesus

  32. 5 An honest witness does not lie; a false witness breathes lies. NLT

Ever talked to someone who lies almost every time they breathe? It’s exhausting, trying to sort through the rubbish to find some truth. I guess it becomes a habit and they must eventually start believing it themselves.

  33. 14Backsliders get what they deserve; good people receive their reward.

We all hate to see someone leave the church. Someone leave, and are back to living their old lifestyle. If they could remember how much better it is with God in their lives. Hopefully they will return to having that relationship with God, and receive the blessings God has for them.

  34. “There is a path before each person that seems right, but it ends in death.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/pro.14.12.nlt

The path that’s eels appealing isn’t always the right path. When we just start going down a path that “feels” right it might not be the right one. The right one is directed by the word of God. The Word of God will show you the right and the wrong. When you seek first the kingdom your pushing that fleshy stuff out and that right feeing path will quickly be identified as the path your FLESH wants to follow. So live for Jesus hard and it’ll be easy but live for Jesus easy and it’ll be HARD

  35. Verses 26-27 CEV “If you respect the Lord, you and your children have a strong fortress and a life-giving fountain that keeps you safe from deadly traps.” Proverbs 23:17-18 AMP “Do not let your heart envy sinners [who live godless lives and have no hope of salvation], But [continue to] live in the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the Lord day by day. Surely there is a future [and a reward], And your hope and expectation will not be cut off.” Verse 12-13 MSG “There’s a way of life that looks harmless enough; look again—it leads straight to hell. Sure, those people appear to be having a good time, but all that laughter will end in heartbreak.”

  36. “Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not in him the lips of knowledge.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Run away, run away!

Sometimes it’s hard to tell that someone is foolish because at first they seem ok. But when you realize someone is foolish, leave. Why sit/stand there and listen/watch that foolishness? It doesn’t make someone wise to watch/listen to foolishness. It gives the opportunity to gossip/make fun of the foolish and that’s not ok either. In any case it’s best to say when you perceive foolishness, run away!

  37. 5 A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies.

    This verse cracks me up.

10 The heart knoweth his own bitterness; and a stranger doth not intermeddle with his joy.
11 The house of the wicked shall be overthrown: but the tabernacle of the upright shall flourish.

So many of us know this statement all too well, “. . . The heart knoweth his own bitterness; . . . “. I believe we could all testify from our own personal experience that this is exactly how some things play out.

  38. “Where no oxen are, the crib is clean: but much increase is by the strength of the ox.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When I think of an ox the first thing that comes to mind is “servant”. They serve their master by being used to harvest crops. We are likened to the oxen by the way we serve our Father with the harvest of souls. It’s harvest time for POFW! His Kingdom will come. We have a great opportunities to serve everyday. Let’s SERVE the Lord with gladness. I’m also reminded that our role as an oxen isn’t finish after the souls come in. WE NEED TO SERVE OUR FATHER BY MAKING THEM A DISCIPLE! They must GrOw from babies to mature apostolic’s. In the end we ALL want to hear “Well Done Good and Faithful SERVANT”
    Be Church!
    Be an Ox!
    Be a Servant!

“”His master replied, ‘You have done well, good and faithful SERVANT! You have been faithful with a few things. I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master’s happiness!’”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:21‬ ‭NIRV‬‬
