Proverbs 19

Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the Lord.

Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.

All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.

10 Delight is not seemly for a fool; much less for a servant to have rule over princes.

11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

12 The king’s wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.

13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

14 House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the Lord.

15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

18 Chasten thy son while there is hope, and let not thy soul spare for his crying.

19 A man of great wrath shall suffer punishment: for if thou deliver him, yet thou must do it again.

20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

21 There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.

22 The desire of a man is his kindness: and a poor man is better than a liar.

23 The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

24 A slothful man hideth his hand in his bosom, and will not so much as bring it to his mouth again.

25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.

26 He that wasteth his father, and chaseth away his mother, is a son that causeth shame, and bringeth reproach.

27 Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.

28 An ungodly witness scorneth judgment: and the mouth of the wicked devoureth iniquity.

29 Judgments are prepared for scorners, and stripes for the back of fools.

  1. In this scripture shows many different words of advice and knowledge toward what is right and expected of the Lord. The biggest challenge is putting all of it to work and continually doing it faithfully.

    “Be wise Church”…….

  2. 8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

A wise person will seek to know more about the Lord’s will.
Studying the scriptures will help a Christain to be instant in season, to defend the hope that is within them.

  3. Verses 2-3 AMP “Also it is not good for a person to be without knowledge, And he who hurries with his feet [acting impulsively and proceeding without caution or analyzing the consequences] sins (misses the mark). The foolishness of man undermines his way [ruining whatever he undertakes]; Then his heart is resentful and rages against the Lord [for, being a fool, he blames the Lord instead of himself].”

Verse 16 AMP “He who keeps and obeys the commandment [of the Lord] keeps (guards) his own life, But he who is careless of his ways and conduct will die.”

Verse 20 AMP “Listen to counsel, receive instruction, and accept correction,
That you may be wise in the time to come.

These verses reminded me of a portion of our Sunday School lesson for this Sunday. We all will face Jesus one day and be accountable for the choices we make. Although judgment is inevitable, if we choose to follow Jesus, His grace and mercy will protect us. If we choose to follow Jesus, we have hope of spending eternity with Him. So, make wise choices and and do not be careless; but, rather listen, receive and accept correction as perilous times are upon us.

  4. Proverbs 19:10 It isn’t right for a fool to live in luxury
or for a slave to rule over princes!
If your not living for God then you’re a slave to sin. You and I our princes and princesses. Were the Kings children.

Romans 6:22 But now you are free from the power of sin and have become slaves of God.

The whole purpose of the death on the cross was so that we could resurrect from being a slave to sin. He died and rose again so we live and rise out of the grave of sin ourselves. Seek ye first the Kingdom of God!

  5. Proverbs 19
    Wisdom Counsel Instruction
Daily Lord in Your presence search me .
Let me seek your counsel in everything I say and do.
    Let it reflect You .

20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

  6. Prov. 19 – 20-21 [ amp] Hear , counsel, receive, instruction, and accept correction, that you may wise in the time to come.
21] Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.
Ps. 33:10 [ The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nought; He makes the thoughts and plans of the people of no effect.
The only counsel or correction that we need comes from the Lord.
We live in perilous time we need to make wise decisions and better choices.
    Thank you Jesus.

  7. He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die. I want to go to heaven so if I give up my soul to sin I will go to the pit. And nooooo I want to go to heaven and be with Jesus!

  8. 9 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish.

I have found living for God those that have lied and tried to destroy the church, the ministry, and even the man of God, those eventually will be punished by God. One really never gets away from offending other and they will have to suffer the consequences. God’s protection over the church and his anointed will be there until he calls the church home. I find those that will spew venom of lies will always think that they get the last laugh. But know this the mercy and grace is extended to all that want it and can receive it, but the scornful will not find it. We have to have our focus on the kingdom and pay attention to those around us that will try to deceive. Be sober and be vigilant because our enemy will try to destroy us.

  9. 19:17 he that has pity upon the poor
Lendeth to the Lord, and that which he hath given
    Will he pay him again.
    —-
    Hallelujah 🙌
It’s a blessing to give to those who lack…
    Whatever it is…
I have done it to others,
And others have done it to me.. and I have seen this word come to pass
    Many times.
    God is good and faithful.

  10. 3People ruin their lives by their own foolishness
and then are angry at the LORD.

We ourselves make daily choices that can ruin our lives. You know what is wrong but we continue to make the wrong choice. Then we want to blame others, blame society, and blame God. Listen to others who give you good counsel, and pray to God to make good choices.

  11. “Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise. Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19:20-21‬ ‭NIV‬‬

    Proverbs 16:3, 9 NKJV
“Commit your works to the LORD, And your thoughts will be established.

A man’s heart plans his way, But the LORD directs his steps.”
    ‭‭

  12. 23 The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

There’s something special about having a healthy fear of the Lord. Just walking in the respect and honor of the father, that can help a person veer away from certain dangers and not be afraid of correction. Having that fear (respect) can lead a person through tough situations and decisions that would have been otherwise negatively effected if let to their own devices. Let us walk each daily with a renewed love and respect for God as he guides us through uncertain times

  13. 23 The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

Sometimes I feel like people go through life without having any fear of God; is the only way I can explain some of the headlines in today’s news. The times of Noah or worse are already here. Beware, the signs of Jesus return are clear as a sunny day. Open your eyes and Run to the ONLY NAME WHICH WE CAN BE SAVED JESUS CHRIST MY LORD! Pray for REVIVAL, EXPAND YOUR TEMTS, MAKE ROOM FOR THEY WILL BE RETURNING HOME!!! Stand watch with your lamp on to light the way to SALVATION! It’s here TODAY NOW IS THE TIME!!

  14. 1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

How is our integrity? How do we treat people, how do we talk, are we men and women that do what we say?
We must be God like in our words and actions

  15. Proverbs 19

1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the Lord.

4 Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.

5 A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall not escape.

6 Many will intreat the favour of the prince: and every man is a friend to him that giveth gifts.

7 All the brethren of the poor do hate him: how much more do his friends go far from him? he pursueth them with words, yet they are wanting to him.

8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

  16. Vs-19
A short- tempered man must bear his own penalty you cant do much to help him. If you try once you must try a dozen times

  17. 1 Better is the poor that walketh in his integrity, than he that is perverse in his lips, and is a fool.

2 Also, that the soul be without knowledge, it is not good; and he that hasteth with his feet sinneth.

3 The foolishness of man perverteth his way: and his heart fretteth against the Lord.

4 Wealth maketh many friends; but the poor is separated from his neighbour.

In this day and hour, it is evermore evident that wealth cannot secure your place in the Kingdom. It is our job to love the poor and the rich the same, without any thoughts of who can contribute more to the House of God.

    2 Corinthians 8:15
As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.

Little is much, when God is in it!

  18. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
    “Made in China”

13 A foolish son is the calamity of his father: and the contentions of a wife are a continual dropping.

Chinese water torture is a painful process in which cold water is slowly dripped onto the scalp, forehead or face for a prolonged period of time allegedly making the restrained victim insane. This form of torture was first described by Hippolytus De Marsiliis in Italy in the 15th or 16th century.

The simple act of dropping a drop of water on folks will absolutely break a person in about 20 hours it is said. Imagine being married to a contentious woman for 10 plus years. A feller could become a complete wacko.

The word “contention” here means the following: a contest or quarrel: – brawling, contention (-ous), discord, strife.

Fellow Americans, we must reject the Chinese Water Torture of contention and we must make marriage great again!

  19. 20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
21 There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand.

23 The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

It is wise to gain a multitude of counselors who are in authority over you and have the knowledge and wisdom to advise you in a Christ-like manner. If there’s a couple things I’ve learned in the last few years, it’s that growing up isn’t all that and a bag of chips, and we really don’t know it all young people! Cling to your elders and authorities, seek the Lord in all things and He will insure your path!

  20. Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise. Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails.
    Proverbs 19:20-21 NIV

We must include God in our plans (goals, desires..) He is the author of life, he writes our story. He has a purpose for our life even if we don’t see it.
Include him in All your plans , so we can live wisely.
Make purposeful plans in 2021 to reach the lost in our City.

Isaiah 46:10 Declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times the things that are not yet done, saying, My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure:

  21. 23 The fear of the Lord tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom and wisdom brings understanding. Better to be wise than to be a fool.

  22. Proverbs 19:21
You can make many plans, but the lord’s purpose will prevail.

    Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” says the lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.

    Thank you Jesus

  23. Proverbs 19:17, “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”

How many times have I/you helped someone or given to someone in need, and God in return has blessed and repaid us? I would have to say, “Everytime!”
Just remember: You can’t out-give God.
When you are doing something unto the Lord and for His Kingdom, He will always bless us in return.
Thank You JESUS for You are Good and Faithful!!

  24. What can I write about,? That everything is true!!! GOD’S WORD IS IT!!! We need and want for nothing , if we would just listen to JESUS!!!

  25. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    GIVE JESUS

8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

The connection in my mind when I read this verse was Evangelism or Give JESUS. Here is the connection. “He that getters WISDOM loveth his own soul”. In my mind to love your own soul is borderline arrogance or pride. BUT.

    JESUS said:

Luke 10:27 And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

    BOOM. Connection made.

WISDOM is the Key to Personal Evangelism, when I love my own soul through WISDOM, I position myself to “Love my Neighbor as myself, through he eyes of WISDOM.

Choose today to get understanding of the WORD of GOD and apply to our lives that we may obtain WISDOM and love our soul that we may know how to love the souls of others.

  26. 8 He that getteth wisdom loveth his own soul: he that keepeth understanding shall find good.

15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

16 He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.

Although the first and second verse are seperated by 7 other verses, I felt they should go together. Spiritual slothfulness causes our soul to hunger, and it also blinds us to the deception that we are okay when really we are not.

If we are seeking/searching the Word of God each day for wisdom, we will clearly see that we can not sit idly but, involved in carnality our entire day and still maintain a spiritual atmosphere. The spirit of slothfulness rocks a person to sleep. They are slow to respond spiritually, slow to pray, slow to read, slow to grow, yet when carnal things are available they have full energy, up early, up late always ready for a good time. The Lord sees the attitude and difference when it comes to spiritual things verses carnal things, and it is the enemies tool to cause us to believe that there is no difference, that it is okay to act and react the way we do. However, I believe the Lord feels differently.

Exodus 20: 1 And God spake all these words, saying, 2I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3Thou shalt have no other gods before me. 4Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.

  27. “People ruin their lives by their own foolishness and then are angry at the Lord.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Don’t blame God
In the society that we live in, we often hear excuses of why actions were made. “If you hadn’t done this, I won’t have done that.” We see this type of mentally throughout the Bible. One example that comes to mind is when God came to Adam and Eve. Got had come in to the garden to fellowship with them and couldn’t find them. Once they were found Adam said that he was afraid because he was naked and hid himself. And God asked Adam Who had told him that he was naked and asked if he had eaten from the tree. And Adam’s response was that the woman that God had given him to be with, gave him of the tree and he ate. We must come to the understanding of maturity. Except responsibility for our own actions. Don’t pass the buck!

  28. 20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
21 There are many devices in a man’s heart; nevertheless the counsel of the Lord, that shall stand

These scriptures remind me of the verse in Prov 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

There are many ways we can travel in this life, but only by traveling the path given in scriptures will we find rest for our souls…Heaven!

  29. Proverbs 19
17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

We will always have the poor thus we will be Hands of the Lord giving out of our substance. You will bless us so we may continue.

  30. 3 “People ruin their lives by their own stupidity, so why does God always get blamed?” MSG

There’s a video of myself when I was a child trying to learn how to ride a bicycle without training wheels for the first time. After several unsuccessful attempts, I began to get upset. In the video I begin to blame the various things around me for my failures. It was the trash cans fault for being in my way, it was my uncles fault for laughing while I was trying to ride, and the bike for not working correctly.

As funny as this sounds, we sound just as silly when we try to blame God for the faults of our own. It seems to be easier to push the blame on anything else, then accept the responsibility of our own downfalls.

I pray that as we continue to Live Jesus, that we will be able to admit our downfalls, failures, and mistakes in order to grow from them. To be ablate Give Jesus through the process.

  31. “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19:17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

God is good on His promises and will never be in debt to us! Regardless of the avenue in which He chooses to bless us, just know He will bless those who are a blessing to others. I thank God for His many promises. I pray we bless others not to receive anything in return but to show Jesus to others

  32. 16 Keep the rules and keep your life; careless living kills.
23 Fear-of-God is life itself, a full life, and serene — no nasty surprises.

When we follow after His ways we will have everlasting life! When we seek after him and listen to the words of the man of God and elders, we will have a powerful walk with God for eternity. In a world full of careless living we must seek a life full of God.

  33. 17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
    Proverbs 19:17 KJV

Let us be a blessing unto the in need, let us not judge others by what we see cause we have no idea what they might be going through. Let us be a light like the Lord made us to be to those hurting, to those in fear and in trouble. Show them that there is a God that can save them and protect them and will love them forever. As God sees our good deeds he remembers them always, he later on will bring beautiful blessings into your life. Remember don’t just do it for the blessings do it with meaning, show them that God gave you peace and joy.

  34. In this chapter I think that it was trying to say that we can not let money affect us. It really doesn’t matter to God how much or how little you have. It really matters how much or how little you have of Him! I hope you take this today and realize you are enough and so is He!❤️

  35. Proverbs 19:15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

If we do not work, receive no money then we can physically be hungry. If we don’t pray, read the Bible, or go to church, then our soul will thirst for the Lord and we will be hungry. We must work to support ourselves and work for the Lord to fill our soul. We must take time out to worship Jesus and fill ourselves with Godly knowledge. Without Jesus we will always be hungry!
Thank you Jesus for this day!

  36. Proverbs 19:26
“Children who mistreat their father or chase away their mother are an embarrassment and a public disgrace.”
    ‭‭
I learned that if you don’t listen to your parents that the public eye will see you as a brat and make your parents embarrassed

This is something you should never do I’m speaking from experience

  37. 17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

If he does this by giving to the poor imagine what he does when you give to the Kingdom. You cannot out-give God. That which you sow you will reap.

  38. 12 The king’s wrath is as the roaring of a lion; but his favour is as dew upon the grass.

A Kings position causes them to have to be forever changing. He is as loud as a lion yet as gentle as morning dew.

  39. “He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Keep God’s commandments and also be obedient to the word of God. Seek first the Kingdom of God and he will supply your needs. But if we ever desire anything more than God we will find sin and death. For the things of this world will soon fade away but Jesus will remain forever for he is the way the truth and the life. Whosoever will choose to seek after the kingdom of God finds everlasting life, and whoever seek after fame and the riches of this world will soon fade away. Who will you choose to seek after?

  40. Just do something

15 Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.

It’s always interesting to me how the homeless will stand at a corner and beg for money all day but they will not do something about getting out of their situation. It is sad to see folks stuck in such disparity. If you talk to one of them you quickly understand that they have blinders over their eyes and the cannot see clearly what is actually taking place around them. This is their deep sleep, and the reason of their hunger. You can convenience yourself that you are poor or downtrodden enough that you get stuck in it. We have to always be aware of the Rita we get into that they not become a habit. Those habits can lead to this spiritual blindness that is nearly impossible to overcome. Let us keep our spiritual eyes and ears open and awake that we not get caught in this trap.

  41. 20 Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.

Not everyone is willing to be taught and rule or to be advised and reproved, when you are young. The best advice is to listen and receive all instructions. Listen with spiritual ears. It will save you a lots of time and trouble.

  42. You can make many plans, but the Lord ’s purpose will prevail.
    Proverbs 19:3‭, ‬21 NLT

We can work so diligently but when the Lord has a plan He will make a way.

  43. 11 The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.

It amazes me that amount of people that do not take this verse to heart. “. . . discretion of a man deferreth his anger; . .” I have said in the past to a friend or coworker, “Bro, it’s all good, calm down, it’s not worth getting angry over!” And I have heard multiple times that, “Oh, I just have anger issues! I can’t control it!” THE DEVIL IS A LIAR!! (As my mother-in-law would say.) We have the will and the control to change things that fault us and have us act against the Word of God. There are so many exercises to practice with and of course with every improvement comes a lot of prayer. Make the changes to be better in your own life. Trust in Him to elevate and always improve.

  44. “Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭19:15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

An idle soul will suffer hunger. When a soul doesn’t hunger and thirst after righteousness then it is not filled. It suffers with constant hunger pains. It is can’t be filled with things of this world. That is why people say that it fills like there is a whole in their life that they are trying to fill.
