1Kings 8

Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.

And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

And they brought up the ark of the Lord, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.

And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

And the priests brought in the ark of the covenant of the Lord unto his place, into the oracle of the house, to the most holy place, even under the wings of the cherubims.

For the cherubims spread forth their two wings over the place of the ark, and the cherubims covered the ark and the staves thereof above.

And they drew out the staves, that the ends of the staves were seen out in the holy place before the oracle, and they were not seen without: and there they are unto this day.

There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,

11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.

12 Then spake Solomon, The Lord said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

13 I have surely built thee an house to dwell in, a settled place for thee to abide in for ever.

14 And the king turned his face about, and blessed all the congregation of Israel: (and all the congregation of Israel stood;)

15 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, which spake with his mouth unto David my father, and hath with his hand fulfilled it, saying,

16 Since the day that I brought forth my people Israel out of Egypt, I chose no city out of all the tribes of Israel to build an house, that my name might be therein; but I chose David to be over my people Israel.

17 And it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

18 And the Lord said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.

19 Nevertheless thou shalt not build the house; but thy son that shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house unto my name.

20 And the Lord hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

21 And I have set there a place for the ark, wherein is the covenant of the Lord, which he made with our fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt.

22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

23 And he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

24 Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

25 Therefore now, Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.

27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

28 Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Lord my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee to day:

29 That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.

30 And hearken thou to the supplication of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall pray toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.

31 If any man trespass against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to cause him to swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house:

32 Then hear thou in heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, condemning the wicked, to bring his way upon his head; and justifying the righteous, to give him according to his righteousness.

33 When thy people Israel be smitten down before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee, and shall turn again to thee, and confess thy name, and pray, and make supplication unto thee in this house:

34 Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest unto their fathers.

35 When heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou afflictest them:

36 Then hear thou in heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, that thou teach them the good way wherein they should walk, and give rain upon thy land, which thou hast given to thy people for an inheritance.

37 If there be in the land famine, if there be pestilence, blasting, mildew, locust, or if there be caterpiller; if their enemy besiege them in the land of their cities; whatsoever plague, whatsoever sickness there be;

38 What prayer and supplication soever be made by any man, or by all thy people Israel, which shall know every man the plague of his own heart, and spread forth his hands toward this house:

39 Then hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and do, and give to every man according to his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men;)

40 That they may fear thee all the days that they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

41 Moreover concerning a stranger, that is not of thy people Israel, but cometh out of a far country for thy name’s sake;

42 (For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

43 Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.

44 If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the Lordtoward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:

45 Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

46 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

47 Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

48 And so return unto thee with all their heart, and with all their soul, in the land of their enemies, which led them away captive, and pray unto thee toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, the city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name:

49 Then hear thou their prayer and their supplication in heaven thy dwelling place, and maintain their cause,

50 And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:

51 For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from the midst of the furnace of iron:

52 That thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee.

53 For thou didst separate them from among all the people of the earth, to be thine inheritance, as thou spakest by the hand of Moses thy servant, when thou broughtest our fathers out of Egypt, O Lord God.

54 And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the Lord, he arose from before the altar of the Lord, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

55 And he stood, and blessed all the congregation of Israel with a loud voice, saying,

56 Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

57 The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

59 And let these my words, wherewith I have made supplication before the Lord, be nigh unto the Lord our God day and night, that he maintain the cause of his servant, and the cause of his people Israel at all times, as the matter shall require:

60 That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else.

61 Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.

62 And the king, and all Israel with him, offered sacrifice before the Lord.

63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the Lord, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.

64 The same day did the king hallow the middle of the court that was before the house of the Lord: for there he offered burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings: because the brasen altar that was before the Lordwas too little to receive the burnt offerings, and meat offerings, and the fat of the peace offerings.

65 And at that time Solomon held a feast, and all Israel with him, a great congregation, from the entering in of Hamath unto the river of Egypt, before the Lord our God, seven days and seven days, even fourteen days.

66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the Lordhad done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.

  1. Repentance is the key to success and it turns everything around .

    “Daily Repentance is highly important!”….

    Be blessed Church…..

  2. 63 And Solomon offered a sacrifice of peace offerings, which he offered unto the Lord, two and twenty thousand oxen, and an hundred and twenty thousand sheep. So the king and all the children of Israel dedicated the house of the Lord.

Your work in the service of the Lord does not replace the importance of repentance. Solomon had spent over 4 years laborously working to build the temple just for God to dwell in and whenever they were opening it up one of the first things he did was offer sacrificed. That was in the placement of repentance. As we labor together we still need to continue in daily repentance. Both are essential but they are not reflections of one another. You can repent without working and vice versa. We must continue in unity, working to labor for the Lord and in daily repentance

  3. 56 Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

57 The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

This has been the prayer of Solomon during the dedication of the temple after bringing the ark of the covenant into the temple. For the Lord filled the temple with the cloud. It even stated that the glory of the Lord filled the house. Once Solomon prayed he blessed Israel because when he stated that God would be with them, that He would not leave them nor forsake them. He would not fail his good word of all his promise.

The word all here is given to mean in the Hebrew as enough or every (one, place or thing)

With that reference God will give us all that we need to survive not only spiritually but also physically. We will not have to worry where our needs will be provided because God will supply everything required to serve him with everything in us. This was a promise that God made to Abraham down through time to David. When we stand on his promises we will not have to worry, but to only react to the love and glory of God. We have to serve him with the fullest of our hearts. We have to give our all.

  4. 1Kings 8

1 Then Solomon assembled the elders of Israel, and all the heads of the tribes, the chief of the fathers of the children of Israel, unto king Solomon in Jerusalem, that they might bring up the ark of the covenant of the Lord out of the city of David, which is Zion.

2 And all the men of Israel assembled themselves unto king Solomon at the feast in the month Ethanim, which is the seventh month.

3 And all the elders of Israel came, and the priests took up the ark.

4 And they brought up the ark of the Lord, and the tabernacle of the congregation, and all the holy vessels that were in the tabernacle, even those did the priests and the Levites bring up.

5 And king Solomon, and all the congregation of Israel, that were assembled unto him, were with him before the ark, sacrificing sheep and oxen, that could not be told nor numbered for multitude.

  5. 1 Kings 8:27-32 CEV “There’s not enough room in all of heaven for you, Lord God. How could you possibly live on earth in this temple I have built? But I ask you to answer my prayer. This is the temple where you have chosen to be worshiped. Please watch over it day and night and listen when I turn toward it and pray. I am your servant, and the people of Israel belong to you. So whenever any of us look toward this temple and pray, answer from your home in heaven and forgive our sins. Suppose someone accuses a person of a crime, and the accused has to stand in front of the altar in your temple and say, “I swear I am innocent!” Listen from heaven and decide who is right. Then punish the guilty person and let the innocent one go free.” Day and Night, Night and Day we must keep the fire on our altar; so, the God of heaven can hear our prayer and forgive our sins.

1 Kings 8:37-40 CEV “Sometimes the crops may dry up or rot or be eaten by locusts[a] or grasshoppers, and your people will be starving. Sometimes enemies may surround their towns, or your people will become sick with deadly diseases. Listen when anyone in Israel truly feels sorry and sincerely prays with arms lifted toward your temple. You know what is in everyone’s heart. So from your home in heaven answer their prayers, according to the way they live and what is in their hearts. Then your people will worship and obey you for as long as they live in the land you gave their ancestors.” The God of heaven knows if your prayer is sincere as he sees your heart; so, make sure your heart is purged from all sin.

1 Kings 8:59-61 CEV “I pray that the Lord our God will remember my prayer day and night. May he help everyone in Israel each day, in whatever way we need it. Then every nation will know that the Lord is the only true God. Obey the Lord our God and follow his commands with all your heart, just as you are doing today.” As Bro. Adams preached last night, we have to pray that the God of heaven help us recognize the enemy in whatever fashion/form it is trying to come into your life because that sin can keep you from what God has for you and take you on a path straight to hell. Remember to RESIST the RESISTANCE!

  6. 20 And the Lord hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

This is another example of an attribute of the Lord. The Lord is the same today as yesterday and forever. When the Lord makes a promise, it is kept.

  7. Thank you Jesus Christ for today , hallelujah praise God he is mighty and good all the time . Our father which art in heaven thy kingdom come thy will be done in everything we do / thank him first then repent then make your request according to his will

and he prayed, “O Lord , God of Israel, there is no God like you in all of heaven above or on the earth below. You keep your covenant and show unfailing love to all who walk before you in wholehearted devotion. You have kept your promise to your servant David, my father. You made that promise with your own mouth, and with your own hands you have fulfilled it today. May you hear the humble and earnest requests from me and your people Israel when we pray toward this place. Yes, hear us from heaven where you live, and when you hear, forgive.

  8. 24 Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

25 Therefore now, Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit on the throne of Israel; so that thy children take heed to their way, that they walk before me as thou hast walked before me.

The promise will always be fulfilled, IM not worried about a thing going on in this world right now there are still promises to be fulfilled. God makes it clear through David and Solomon by fulfilling the promise to David through his son Solomon. Im amazed by the works of God and his he does it all. I’m never at a dull moment with the Lord it gives me more reasons to praise and worship Him.

  9. 66 On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the Lord had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.

At the end of which Solomon dismissed the people. and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the Lord has done.
That’s what I saw last night after Pastor dismiss the congregation, as I stood still for few seconds to see everybody’s being remember to the body. And I saw joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the Lord has done this week. (No pos praise the Lord)

  10. 1 Kings 8: 34 -35[ amp] Then hear in heaven and forgive the sin of Your people Israel and return them to the land You gave to their fathers.
[35] When heaven is shut up and no rain falls because they have sinned against You, if they pray in [ or toward] this place and confess Your name
( Your revelation of Yourself) and turn from their sin when You afflict them.
2 Chron.7 :14 [ amp] If My people, who are called by My name, shall humble themselves, pray, seek, crave, and require of necessity My face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land.
We are responsible for our own sin.
Repent and turn away from our wickness.
Incline our hearts and mind to the Lord
Walk in all his ways and keep His commandmemts.
    We must Be saved.
Through repentance heal our land Jesus.

  11. 56. Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

    57. The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:

    Matthew 28:20
Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

God has never changed, He has never failed, He has never forsaken us, and He isn’t about to now.

    Jeremiah 39:
    17. But I will deliver thee in that day, saith the Lord : and thou shalt not be given into the hand of the men of whom thou art afraid.

    18. For I will surely deliver thee, and thou shalt not fall by the sword, but thy life shall be for a prey unto thee: because thou hast put thy trust in me, saith the Lord.

  12. Resist the resistance even in things we think are unimportant, if something you need or think you need is causing you to consider straying from what’s right and what Jesus would do put it out of your reach forget about it!

  13. 8;29 that thine eyes May be open towards this house night and day even toward the place in which thou hath said my name shall be there that thou Mayte harken unto thy prayer which rhyme servant make make unto this place.

You presence always is, but i still ask of thee. 🙏

  14. 27 But will God indeed dwell on the earth? behold, the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house that I have builded?

God is not limited by space. No matter how beautiful or big a place may be it cannot contain God in all His glory. Yet He dwells in the heart of those who choose to live for Him. Thank you Jesus for your mercies.

  15. 12 Then spake Solomon, The Lord said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
When times get dark in our lives that is when we should get the most happy why because God is there. It was in a dark place where Moses saw the back side of God. Exodus 21 And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:
22 And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a clift of the rock, and will cover thee with my hand while I pass by:
23 And I will take away mine hand, and thou shalt see my back parts: but my face shall not be seen.

It was in this dark place in the cliff of the rock where God showed Moses the beginning. It is said Moses wrought the book of genesis with that being said God had to tell him who he is and what happened because no one was at creation but God. So when God said you can’t see my face When because Jesus was not revealed to the world yet but you can see the pass. You can see my power my glory what I can do.

It is in the dark places where God moves where he shows his glory. I want God to cover me with his hands and reveal who he is to me today.

Reading this scripture brings great faith (faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God). Knowing that the God that the universe cannot contain hears the prayer of his people is reassuring…especially in the troubling days we live in today. Thank You Jesus for hearing our prayers.

  18. I Kings 8

    Message
    12-13 Then Solomon spoke:
God has told us that he lives in the dark
    where no one can see him;
I’ve built this splendid Temple, O God,
to mark your invisible presence forever.

The commandments of God . Kept within our hearts is so necessary. To think that God even dwells within the darkness of this world invisible proves that His presence is strong not even the darkest areas of this world or maybe even your own life that may have darkness from time to time God IS STILL THERE AVAILABLE! His presence is there to penetrate into the darkness that Satan has created . Done ever give up because in the darkest of night He is still the Light and is within reach . All we have to do is call on the name of Jesus . God is Light and He will lead the way. In Jesus name !

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (Ephesians 5:8)

  19. 56 Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.
57 The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:
58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

The Lord our God is so good! He will always fulfill His promises, He will always keep us and care for us. All we have to do is return our love and follow His commandments in His Word. Let our hearts today be perfect with God so we may do as He calls and speaks for us to do.

  20. 46 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man that sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them to the enemy, so that they carry them away captives unto the land of the enemy, far or near;

    47 Yet if they shall bethink themselves in the land whither they were carried captives, and repent, and make supplication unto thee in the land of them that carried them captives, saying, We have sinned, and have done perversely, we have committed wickedness;

The importance of repentance and a true repented heart, can take all plagues, all afflictions, all grievances, and turned it around. As long as we are facing the correct way towards GOD!!! Like it was preached yesterday repentance is nothing else but turning your attention away from the world and back to Jesus!!! Thank you Lord for ALL repenting hearts may our faith be strengthen and our trust renewed. In Jesus Name Amen

    WHEN PREACHERS PRAY

9 There was nothing in the ark save the two tables of stone, which Moses put there at Horeb, when the Lord made a covenant with the children of Israel, when they came out of the land of Egypt.
10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,
11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.

The Priests were identified as the Ministers to the people. We learn from the first service in the Temple or house built for GOD that when men go before GOD humbly they come before the people powerfully.

This principal is affirmed for the Apostolic church in:

Acts 4:31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Personal preference, politics and power struggles all distract from the Holy Place of GOD. The difference maker is the desire for the presence of the Holy Place in GOD. I purpose myself to more earnestly seek HIS Holy Place prior to standing before HIS people that HIS Glory will fill and shake HIS house and HIS people.

  23. 22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:
23 And he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

We serve the one true living God, there is no other like Him. No other God can save or deliver, no other can extend mercy and grace and bring us into Heaven. It is a privilege to bow before the King of kings and Lord of lords and daily serve him.

  24. “Now it happened that when the priests had come out of the Holy Place, the cloud filled the LORD ’ S house, so the priests could not stand [in their positions] to minister because of the cloud, for the glory and brilliance of the LORD had filled the LORD ’ S house (temple).”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:10-11‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Every time I read this scripture I think how amazing it would be to have been there to experienced it. My imagination runs wild with thinking what felt like what it look like and just being in that moment. I pray one day I will get to experience this firsthand.

  25. 1 Kings 8:30,33-40,53

[30]May you hear the humble and earnest requests from me and your people Israel when we pray toward this place. Yes, hear us from heaven where you live, and when you hear, forgive.

[33]“If your people Israel are defeated by their enemies because they have sinned against you, and if they turn to you and acknowledge your name and pray to you here in this Temple,

[34]then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people Israel and return them to this land you gave their ancestors.

[35]“If the skies are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and if they pray toward this Temple and acknowledge your name and turn from their sins because you have punished them,

[36]then hear from heaven and forgive the sins of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them to follow the right path, and send rain on your land that you have given to your people as their special possession.

[37]“If there is a famine in the land or a plague or crop disease or attacks of locusts or caterpillars, or if your people’s enemies are in the land besieging their towns—whatever disaster or disease there is—

[38]and if your people Israel pray about their troubles, raising their hands toward this Temple,

[39]then hear from heaven where you live, and forgive. Give your people what their actions deserve, for you alone know each human heart.

[40]Then they will fear you as long as they live in the land you gave to our ancestors.

[53]For when you brought our ancestors out of Egypt, O Sovereign lord, you told your servant Moses that you had set Israel apart from all the nations of the earth to be your own special possession.”

Part of being a Christian is humbling ourselves and realizing that without God, our lives truly mean nothing. We are to acknowledge that we have made a conscious choice to turn away from the bad deeds and sinful habits, and we have turned to the holy life God has presented before us.

Father, I humbly present myself as one who has chosen to turn away from their sinful ways. It is a choice I made when I chose to follow you and Lord, it is a choice I intend to abide in. Father, help me to walk in a way that is worthy of this calling. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

  26. 44 If thy people go out to battle against their enemy, whithersoever thou shalt send them, and shall pray unto the Lordtoward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house that I have built for thy name:

45 Then hear thou in heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

Part of our walk with God is being perfected during battles. God uses battles to build us and grow us. Solomon is declaring a promise of the Lord in this verse. When we go out to battle against our enemy, then the Lord with hear our pray and maintain our cause.

Knowing that we win in the end, help us keep our eyes on the prize and keeps from being distracted during the process. It’s only a season and this too shall pass.

3 -1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
    2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
    3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;
    4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;
    5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;
    6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;
    7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;
8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

  28. “When all the elders of Israel arrived, the priests picked up the Ark. The priests and Levites brought up the Ark of the Lord along with the special tent and all the sacred items that had been in it. There, before the Ark, King Solomon and the entire community of Israel sacrificed so many sheep, goats, and cattle that no one could keep count! Then the priests carried the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant into the inner sanctuary of the Temple—the Most Holy Place—and placed it beneath the wings of the cherubim. The cherubim spread their wings over the Ark, forming a canopy over the Ark and its carrying poles. These poles were so long that their ends could be seen from the Holy Place, which is in front of the Most Holy Place, but not from the outside. They are still there to this day. Nothing was in the Ark except the two stone tablets that Moses had placed in it at Mount Sinai, where the Lord made a covenant with the people of Israel when they left the land of Egypt.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:3-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Solomon went far beyond custom and expectation in his effort to honor and praise God on this great day. Let us go far and beyond to praise God today. Think of all he has done for each of us this past week. That’s something to go far and beyond to praise him for. Thank you Jesus for all you have done for POFW THIS PAST WEEK.

  29. I Kkngs 8:60,61 That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else. Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, is that this day.

Joshua 4:24 That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty : that ye might fear the Lord your God forever.

Deuteronomy 18:13 Thou shalt be perfect with the Lord thy God.

Praise God for His word 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

  30. 60 That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else.

Amen!! There is no one like God, no one who loves us more. I thank God for letting me wake up this morning, for giving me breath to wake up. Thank you Jesus!!!!

  31. 1 Kings 8:22-23, 28-30, 54
    22) And Solomon stood before the altar of the LORD in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:
    23) And he said, LORD God of Israel,…

    28) Yet have thou respect unto the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O LORD my God, to hearken unto the cry and to the prayer, which thy servant prayeth before thee today:
    29) That thine eyes may be open toward this house night and day, even toward the place of which thou hast said, My name shall be there: that thou mayest hearken unto the prayer which thy servant shall make toward this place.
    30) And hearken thou to the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, when they shall prayer toward this place: and hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place: and when thou hearest, forgive.

    54) And it was so, that when Solomon had made an end of praying all this prayer and supplication unto the LORD, he arose from before the altar of the LORD, from kneeling on his knees with his hands spread up to heaven.

“Praying All This Prayer And Supplication Unto The LORD”
Ephesians 6:18 says, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”

Once thing I found interesting in the scriptures today is, when Solomon started praying, he stood before the altar of the LORD with his hands spread toward heaven, and when he was done praying, he arose up from before the altar of the LORD, because he had been kneeling on his knees with his hands spread toward heaven. So to me, somewhere along the way in his prayer time, he started out standing and ended up in a kneeling position.
Also, to me Solomon did exactly as Ephesians 6:18 said. He brought his prayer and supplication before the LORD, and he made supplication (request, petition, plea) for all the people of Israel.
So when we pray and make supplication before the LORD, we shouldn’t just be doing it for ourselves, but for all saints.

  32. 18But the LORD told him, ‘You wanted to build the Temple to honor my name. Your intention is good, 19but you are not the one to do it. One of your own sons will build the Temple to honor me.

We all have intentions of doing something. We get anxious to get it done quickly. We may want a new job, a home, a car, serve in a different position, or go somewhere, and then we wait. Just pray and ask God for it, and you’ll receive it when you least expected.

  33. 60 That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else.

    The MSG
And let these words that I’ve prayed in the presence of God be always right there before Him, day and night, so that He’ll do what is right for me, to guarantee justice for His people Israel day after day after day. Then all the people on earth will know God is the true God; there is no other God. And you, your lives must be totally obedient to God, our personal God, following the life path he has cleared, alert and attentive to everything he has made plain this day.

  34. Solomon prayed strongly to our Lord in 1 Kings 8. He asked God several times to forgive the people for their sins, as no man is perfect. “And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them: For they be thy people, and thine inheritance, which thou broughtest forth out of Egypt, from thy midst of the furnace of iron: That thine eyes may be open unto the supplication of thy servant, and unto the supplication of thy people Israel, to hearken unto them in all that they call for unto thee.” 1 Kings 8:50-52

Solomon prayed from kneeling on his knees and his hands spread to heaven! We all need to humble ourselves and give justice to our Lord and Savior Jesus. Thank you dear Jesus for this day.

  35. Solomon says we are all sinners. He knows the servants will seek God for forgiveness, so he lays it out to let the people know, that there is only one God that can forgive them and help them overcome sin.

  36. 42 (For they shall hear of thy great name, and of thy strong hand, and of thy stretched out arm;) when he shall come and pray toward this house;

43 Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for: that all people of the earth may know thy name, to fear thee, as do thy people Israel; and that they may know that this house, which I have builded, is called by thy name.

“We won’t stop ‘til the whole world knows that you’re a great God!”

He has given us a calling to let ALL know about Him! We can’t stop until the whole world knows!

  37. 10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,

The glory of the Lord is phenomenal. There is nothing on this earth that can be compared to it. When you get into the glory of the Lord you just feel different. It makes feel elevated. God’s glory can take you higher than you’ve ever been. When get under the glory, it’s important that you never leave from it.

  38. 1 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.

When the glory of the Lord fill the house everything shifts. The schedule goes out the door and God moves. Oh how we love it when this happens. When God take over the service and great and mighty things began to happen.

  39. 59 And may these words that I have prayed in the presence of the Lord be before him him constantly, day and night, so that the Lord our God may give justice to me and to his people Israel, according to each day’s needs.
66 After the festival was over, Solomon sent the people home. They blessed the king and went to their homes joyful and glad because the Lord had been good to his servant David and to his people Israel.
    1 Kings 8:59 & 66 NLT

There is only one true God, and he is the one we serve today! The Lord has never failed us and has never left us alone. God sees and hears our prayers, he knows what we go through and at the end of each day he is there filling us with comfort, peace, joy, and strength. There is not a day that goes by that the Lord doesn’t see how hard we are fighting for him, or there’s not a day where he doesn’t bless us. Let us stand tall as a church as a whole, and spread the light and word of the Lord, show them there is an everlasting life with the true God and love and a beautiful life.

  40. 60 That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else.

We are all called to do different things for the Kingdom of God, but we are all called to win souls.
Winning souls is one of the most important things that we do on this earth.

  41. As The Lord Promised

    1 Kings 8:20, 56

20 And the Lord hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
    ….

56 Blessed be the Lord, that hath given rest unto his people Israel, according to all that he promised: there hath not failed one word of all his good promise, which he promised by the hand of Moses his servant.

You have but to look around the world too loose heart, to get discouraged to feel hopelessness.  If by simply looking with our carnal eyes we will only see the the darkest hour upon us.  You will see the selfishness of people, hate, envy, havoc, etc.

It doesn’t take much for coffee to get cold in the winter if left outside.  Think on that for a moment.  The same with the heart, soul and hope of any human.

Nevertheless, his promise still stands.  His words are still true.  Yet so many people loose heart on the way to the promise.  How many people did not leave Egypt with excitement with their bags on one hand and a promise to walk into ahead?  Yet how many actually made it?

If you are holding on to a promise from God, do not loose heart.  Do not look to the world and what is going on around.  Do not let your heart wax cold but stay in the fire.  Let your oil stay warm. Let your lamp shine bright.  Let your faith be fired up.

Can you just imagine the day as you state  like king Solomon; “the Lord had performed his word”,  and you sit in the middle of what the Lord told or said about you…”as the Lord promised”?

Remember the words of king Solomon, “The Lord said that he will dwell in the think darkness.”  So even in the midst of the darkness God still Lord. God still dwells and is King of kings and Lord of lords. And He is still in control.

Will it come to pass? Well the Word says  in Numbers 23:19
God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
    Numbers 23:19 KJV

The thing is that we must believe, trust in Him lean not to our own understanding for we live by faith and not by sight. Though we must resist what our carnal eyes see and ask the Lord to open our spiritual eyes to see the fiery host that is with us.  To see our identity in Him, to see that He is greater much greater.  And when we are feeling low on our faith and our hope decline, we need to remember that there is only one way that faith comes from and that is by hearing and hearing by the word of God. And remember to build up yourself in your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost.

Do not be deceived  by what is going on in the world that you miss and are blinded by the miracles that God is doing among you on your way to the promise. Do not let your heart get hardened that despite seeing all his as already done on the process you believe the evil report and do not enter into the rest of the Lord and loose out on the promise.

If ye abide in Him and his words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7)
Abide in the Word for it is the safest place and sheild.  We know that the Word of God is the sword of the Spirit, therefore it is the offense.  I have heard it said from sport coaches that the best defense is a strong offense, so don’t let the enemy even get a change to attack your mind yet instead keep attacking him with the word of God and tell him that you are going in to pocess the land, that you will enter into the rest of the Lord, that you will take your mountain, that is yours as the Lord has promised.

And while you “Wait”, then take action severe the Kings table. Serve the Kings, kingdom.  For Hebrews tells us,

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
    Hebrews 10:36 KJV

  42. 20 And the Lord hath performed his word that he spake, and I am risen up in the room of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as the Lord promised, and have built an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

In a world filled deceit and lies, many struggle with what to believe in.

But we as children of God, are blessed enough to know TRUTH. We know who we can believe in. We serve a God who cannot lie, His promises are yes and amen. We know without a shadow of a doubt that His word is true.

It would be selfish to keep this truth to ourself.

  43. And the Lord said unto David my father, Whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.

Are we gonna build a house to the world in our hearts or build a house for God.

  44. In this chapter I think it was trying to tell us that when the Holy Spirit is in a room the room becomes refreshing and new! I love when we all pray and there is a big change in the atmosphere!!! It is so exciting to see people get baptized in Jesus name because they have turned their ways to be closer to Him! I love seeing people get the Holy Ghost because when I got the Holy Ghost I was so happy that God moved in me! We have to witness and tell others about our miracles and others!

  45. “That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:60‬ ‭KJV

“One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:5-6‬ ‭KJV

Our mission is the field we all Are required to lead Others!
    Teach

    True!!! One LORD.

  46. 10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,
11 So that the priests could not stand to minister because of the cloud: for the glory of the Lord had filled the house of the Lord.

Very soon this will happen again at the POFW

  47. “After the festival was over, Solomon sent the people home. They blessed the king and went to their homes joyful and glad because the Lord had been good to his servant David and to his people Israel.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:66‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/1ki.8.66.nlt

Let’s leave 2020 with a joyful heart. I thank God that we had revival during pandemic new souls in the kingdom of the Lord. God has taken care of us last year and I’m happy and thankful that he did.

  48. “That all the people of the earth may know that the Lord is God, and that there is none else. Let your heart therefore be perfect with the Lord our God, to walk in his statutes, and to keep his commandments, as at this day.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:60-61‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus is the way the truth and the light. He wants nothing but for everyone to know him and to be saved. We are his disciples and our job is to win souls to Christ. With being a disciple e must always make sure we are in line with him. We must make sure our hearts are right which is why we must always have a repentant heart, must pray and fast. We must always make sure our temple is clean. It’s time to get busy winning souls into the kingdom of god because this is what he wants for all to know him.

  49. 57 The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us:
58 That he may incline our hearts unto him, to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and his statutes, and his judgments, which he commanded our fathers.

Keeping Gods commandments, statues and inclining our hearts unto Him is the key for God to be with us always. This has been brought up from generation to generation and God has never forsaken nor failed us! Praise be to God who never changes and is faithful all the time.

  50. 22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:

23 And he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

24 Who hast kept with thy servant David my father that thou promisedst him: thou spakest also with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

What a heritage was passed down to Solomon, but what a huge undertaken it must have been! It is amazing to read all the details that were instructed by God …. God never leaves no detail undone!!

  51. Pray the word

26 And now, O God of Israel, let thy word, I pray thee, be verified, which thou spakest unto thy servant David my father.

Taking the promises of God in the Word of God as your own and praying for them to come to pass in your life is the surest way to know the will of God for your life. There is no guess work in it. People searching for the will of God and not reading the Word of God is ignorant. It doesn’t make since to not take the sure promises already spoken and apply them. We need to pray the Word of God because it is settled and it will never fail. I need to look no further than the pages that are set in front of me. The problem is people are spiritually lazy and don’t want to do that much work to get a word from God. His word also says if a man doesn’t work, he don’t eat. In the spiritual context of you don’t dig into the word, you will never realize your answer. Let the word be established in me Jesus! I am not looking for a different way but I want your way to be established in me. Not my will but thine be done.

  52. 57 The Lord our God be with us, as he was with our fathers: let him not leave us, nor forsake us

our generations before us have literally prayed us into existence, it doesn’t matter who was your apostolic leader growing up rather that is your parents, pastors, prophets etc… they have prayed a covering of Gods blessing and you will feel it one day, if not every day

  53. “And forgive thy people that have sinned against thee, and all their transgressions wherein they have transgressed against thee, and give them compassion before them who carried them captive, that they may have compassion on them:”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

What an awesome God we serve! We can go to Him for forgiveness and leave with no chains, no shackles. There is truly nothing our God cannot do!

  54. “Then King Solomon summoned into his presence at Jerusalem the elders of Israel, all the heads of the tribes and the chiefs of the Israelite families, to bring up the ark of the Lord’s covenant from Zion, the City of David.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭8:1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Even in the highest of positions Solomon still needed to call on the elders, the head of every tribe and the chiefs in order to fully see his plan through because he could not do it alone. No matter how important you think you are or high up you think you are in his kingdom just remember you still need people in your life that you can call on when you need help, because after all we are all human and need the help of others!

  55. Everyone showed up to put the ark in the church because they all understood how important it was to have God in the temple. If you make a temple and don’t have God then there is no reason for the temple. Same thing for us as we are the temple of God. If we don’t have God in our life then we have no purpose.

  56. 10 And it came to pass, when the priests were come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the Lord,

16 Don’t you know that you yourselves are God’s temple(A) and that God’s Spirit dwells in your midst?(B) 1 Cor 3:16

The first temple was built by the hand men. The second temple which is us was built by the hands of God. Just as the glory of God would dwell in the thick darkness surely God can dwell in this Earthen vessel. We were made with the purpose not to walk along with God but for His percent to dwell in us.

Do you the Holy Spirit dwelling un you? If you don’t remember you were made for that purpose.

  57. 22 And Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven:
23 And he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart:

“. . . Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation . . . spread forth his hands toward heaven . . .” Solomon did not take credit for his works. Solomon also praised God before everyone. Not ashamed. Proclaiming God’s greatness. “. . . he said, Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest . . . “. Did Solomon actually mean it?? Did he do it for the right reasons??

  58. “In the future, foreigners who do not belong to your people Israel will hear of you. They will come from distant lands because of your name, for they will hear of your great name and your strong hand and your powerful arm. And when they pray toward this Temple, then hear from heaven where you live, and grant what they ask of you. In this way, all the people of the earth will come to know and fear you, just as your own people Israel do. They, too, will know that this Temple I have built honors your name.
    1 Kings 8:41‭-‬43 NLT

Because of our testimonies it will draw in those from strange lands and they too will call upon YOUR NAME!! YES!!! In Jesus name!!
