2 Chronicles 6

Then said Solomon, The Lord hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.

And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood.

And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,

Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:

But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

But the Lord said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.

10 The Lord therefore hath performed his word that he hath spoken: for I am risen up in the room of David my father, and am set on the throne of Israel, as the Lordpromised, and have built the house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

11 And in it have I put the ark, wherein is the covenant of the Lord, that he made with the children of Israel.

12 And he stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands:

13 For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven.

14 And said, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:

15 Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

16 Now therefore, O Lord God of Israel, keep with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him, saying, There shall not fail thee a man in my sight to sit upon the throne of Israel; yet so that thy children take heed to their way to walk in my law, as thou hast walked before me.

17 Now then, O Lord God of Israel, let thy word be verified, which thou hast spoken unto thy servant David.

18 But will God in very deed dwell with men on the earth? behold, heaven and the heaven of heavens cannot contain thee; how much less this house which I have built!

19 Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Lord my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:

20 That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.

21 Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.

22 If a man sin against his neighbour, and an oath be laid upon him to make him swear, and the oath come before thine altar in this house;

23 Then hear thou from heaven, and do, and judge thy servants, by requiting the wicked, by recompensing his way upon his own head; and by justifying the righteous, by giving him according to his righteousness.

24 And if thy people Israel be put to the worse before the enemy, because they have sinned against thee; and shall return and confess thy name, and pray and make supplication before thee in this house;

25 Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.

26 When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;

27 Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.

28 If there be dearth in the land, if there be pestilence, if there be blasting, or mildew, locusts, or caterpillers; if their enemies besiege them in the cities of their land; whatsoever sore or whatsoever sickness there be:

29 Then what prayer or what supplication soever shall be made of any man, or of all thy people Israel, when every one shall know his own sore and his own grief, and shall spread forth his hands in this house:

30 Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:)

31 That they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

32 Moreover concerning the stranger, which is not of thy people Israel, but is come from a far country for thy great name’s sake, and thy mighty hand, and thy stretched out arm; if they come and pray in this house;

33 Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, and do according to all that the stranger calleth to thee for; that all people of the earth may know thy name, and fear thee, as doth thy people Israel, and may know that this house which I have built is called by thy name.

34 If thy people go out to war against their enemies by the way that thou shalt send them, and they pray unto thee toward this city which thou hast chosen, and the house which I have built for thy name;

35 Then hear thou from the heavens their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

36 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near;

37 Yet if they bethink themselves in the land whither they are carried captive, and turn and pray unto thee in the land of their captivity, saying, We have sinned, we have done amiss, and have dealt wickedly;

38 If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:

39 Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee.

40 Now, my God, let, I beseech thee, thine eyes be open, and let thine ears be attent unto the prayer that is made in this place.

41 Now therefore arise, O Lord God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.

42 O Lord God, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant.

Now therefore arise, O Lord God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength : let thy priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness. O Lord God, turn out away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant.

v.16 I will also clothe her priests with salvation: and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.

42 O Lord God, turn not away the face of thine anointed: remember the mercies of David thy servant.

Prayer is such an intimate thing but still merging that makes me so happy. When I pray, I may ask for the situation59 change and finish accepting whatever He says. When I pray God presence and His love just allows me to know that no matter what happens with the situation the final result in a that GOD IS STILL IN COMPLETE CONTROL!!!! There is a peace that comes from knowing and trusting God!!! He said He would never leave us nor forsakes us. In

Solomon closed by requesting three things. He asked that his prayer might be accepted . He ask for grace and joy for the priests, those who serve God in his temple. He prayed for favor for himself based on God‘s great love for his father David.
Lest we Think that this prayer consists of petitions only ,let us go back through it once more . There is a great deal about the attributes of God here. Solomon mentioned God’s uniqueness Lovingkindness,Transcendence,Immensity,Infinity,Omnipresece,Justice,Forgiveness,Omniscience ,Grace and Mercy. Besides all these the Lord’s omnipotence and holiness are implied throughout so you think it was still consider petition prayer?

  4. 38 If they return to thee with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, whither they have carried them captives, and pray toward their land, which thou gavest unto their fathers, and toward the city which thou hast chosen, and toward the house which I have built for thy name:

39 Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee.

It appears that this past week emphasized repentance and prayer. We can see from this scripture that if we repent and pray, we will be restored.

  5. Verse 40 MSG “And now, dear God, be alert and attentive to prayer, all prayer, offered in this place.” This whole chapter reminds me along with this verse, where Pastor said it is ok to remind God of what He has promised in His word. But, at the same time, we must think about how we are asking God when we come before him. Are we asking for His will or our way?? The end of verse 35 MSG “….Listen from heaven to what they pray and ask for and do what is right for them.” The same with verse 39 MSG “…….Do what is best for them……”. What we want and what we really need maybe two totally different things; so, we have to trust in the Lord for his divine direction.

  6. 30 Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:)
31 That they may fear thee, to walk in thy ways, so long as they live in the land which thou gavest unto our fathers.

Search us and know us. We commit ourselves to You today to walk in the spirit, in Your Will.

  7. 14. And said, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:

    15. Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

Our God is a faithful God
He keeps His covenants and promises; what he says with His mouth, He fulfills with His hand.

  8. 32 “In the future, foreigners who do not belong to your people Israel will hear of you. They will come from distant lands when they hear of your great name and your strong hand and your powerful arm. And when they pray toward this Temple,

33 then hear from heaven where you live, and grant what they ask of you. In this way, all the people of the earth will come to know and fear you, just as your own people Israel do. They, too, will know that this Temple I have built honors your name.

I was just thinking while reading this how were temples of God and everything we do someone is always watching. Have you ever handled a situation and the only way you kept it together was because of Jesus? Then someone walks up and says how did you keep it together like that? I believe thats a God appointment, thats the perfect opportunity to begin a conversation about the goodness of Jesus. When this chapter started talking about how strangers will hear how you answer prayers thats what came to mind. When you received the holy ghost strangers were walking up to you asking you what you got thats making you so happy. Gods wanting you to share what you got with that person because your testimony may be what gives them that little bit of faith their missing before they commit to step into the house of God. Im praying for every leader today and every person we’ve witnessed to this week so far that God would break the bondage of captivity for those individuals to come to the house of God in Jesus name!

  9. 2 Chron.6: 36 -37 [ amp] If they sin against You for there is no man who does not sin and You are angry with them and give them to enemies whi take them captive to a land far or near.
[ 37] Yet if they repent in the land to which they have been carried captive, and turn and pray there, saying, We have sinned, we have done wrong, and have dealt wickedly.
Rom.6:7: [ amp] For the wages which sin pays is death, But the ( bountiful] free gift of God is external life through ( in union with) Jesus Christ our Lord.
Through out this chapter it shows about repentance and prayer.
God will forgive us and restore us.

  10. 26 When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;

27 Then hear thou from heaven, and forgive the sin of thy servants, and of thy people Israel, when thou hast taught them the good way, wherein they should walk; and send rain upon thy land, which thou hast given unto thy people for an inheritance.

I have found in the word of God, that the one thing that will cause God to cut off the blessings and bring judgments to those that serve him is sin. Sun is nothing new under the sun and we have it all around us and it can cause the spirit unrest. We have to make sure that even though we have been born in sin and shapened in iniquity that we make a choice to with serve God or mammon. If we want to be blessed and receive the mercy, grace, and love of God then we have to shut sin out of our lives and commit everything to God. This starts at the altar and receiving the spirit of God.

Many think they can live straddling the fence and not have to judged by God because they sometimes go to church. Every man, women, and child will be judged by God and it will be based upon what you do while in this world. Are we going to serve the world or will we help further the kingdom of God. We want God to send the rain of revival and we want to be an intricate part of that revival. We have to live Jesus to give Jesus.

  11. 2 Chronicles Chapter 6

14 And said, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:

Jesus gave us a covenant and ever lasting covenant. Let us continue to Fast, Pray, and give thanks to the one given us eternal life in himself.

  12. 3 And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood.
4 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,

For the first time since creation, God had his people move from tent revival to a building. A monumental occasion, something that had been building up for years. Since the beginning of time God has wanted to dwell with his people and he placed the dream in David’s mind to be completed through Solomon’s hands. Buildings may not be the most important aspect of being the body of Christ but God definitely puts emphasis on having a place to dwell his spirit for his people to commune with. A holy sanctified palace for the king of kings.

  13. Stay steady in your walk with God stay closer to him than a brother or sister, I have found if you go one day to busy to communicate with God you take 3 steps backward.

  14. 36 If they sin against thee, (for there is no man which sinneth not,) and thou be angry with them, and deliver them over before their enemies, and they carry them away captives unto a land far off or near;

    Romans 3:23
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.

Confess your sins and ask for forgiveness. We have a forgiving God, Who shows us new mercies every day. Thank you Lord.

  15. 2 Chronicles 6
As I have read and reread (in different versions) this chapter this morning, all I could think of is “WOW! How powerful was Solomon’s prayer.”
He starts off by praying for himself, asking God to hear his prayer and supplication. Then he prays for the children of Israel that God would hear their supplication as well. Then he prays for the children of Israel that if they sin against God, if they will return and confess His name, pray and make supplication, then He would hear them and forgive them. Last he prays for the stranger who is to come and pray. He asks God to hear their prayer and answer them, so that they may know His name and fear Him.

I liken this to when we pray. We need to pray for ourselves; pray for our brothers and sisters in Christ; pray for the backsliders to return and confess His name and God to forgive them; and pray for the 1st time guests that God would hear their prayers and answer them so that they will know His name and fear Him.

Pray Church. Many people need our Prayers.

  16. Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:

6 But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

7 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

8 But the Lord said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

9 Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.

  17. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
WHAT KIND OF HOUSE HAVE YOU BUILT?

2 But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.

Often we hear the request in times of trouble for GOD to visit a place and bless it. Several years ago when The POFW was just beginning, I prayed that prayer and JESUS led me to this verse. HE then asked me the question, “Do you want me to visit or live there?”

Obviously, I immediately proclaimed that we are building a house for HIM to LIVE in. HE then instructed me to begin with me. My body, the Temple of the Holy Ghost, must be a house that JESUS takes habitation, rather than a place of visitation. If JESUS is a visitor in my life, then HE is not the head of the house or in control. However if HE is the owner or inhabits my life, then HE is in control. HE places things where they belong, HE removes things that are harmful, etc.

But, WHAT KIND OF HOUSE HAVE YOU BUILT? A house for JESUS to Live in or be SQUARED or a house that HE can visit when you need or call on him?

  18. 19 Yet regard the prayer of Your servant and his supplication, O Lord my God, and listen to the cry and the prayer which Your servant is praying before You: 20 that Your eyes may be (U)open toward this temple day and night, toward the place where You said You would put Your name, that You may hear the prayer which Your servant makes (V)toward this place. 21 And may You hear the supplications of Your servant and of Your people Israel, when they pray toward this place. Hear from heaven Your dwelling place, and when You hear, (W)forgive.

34 “When Your people go out to battle against their enemies, wherever You send them, and when they pray to You toward this city which You have chosen and the temple which I have built for Your name, 35 then hear from heaven their prayer and their supplication, and maintain their cause.

BOW DOWN THINE WAR LORD HEAR US WE PRAY !
Forgive anything that is within my heart that should not be there Oh God in Jesus name.

  19. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
2Ch 6:8 But the LORD said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

“Thou didst well in that it was in thine heart”. Think about that. He did well not because of the actual building, but because it was in his heart. This same principle can be used the other way as well. What if a feller has ungodly thoughts but never acts on them? Once again, God looks at the intents of the heart as well as the actual actions it produces.

  20. 12 And he stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands:
13 For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven.
14 And said, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:

As great a king as Solomon was in riches and power, he still openly kneeled down on his knees in prayer before all the congregation. He had a humble heart and asked God to always hear the people when they turned their whole heart to him. Turning our whole heart to him is the key-kneeling and being g humble. We can’t use God only as an escape from trouble but rather seek him daily-then we will find him and receive his direction.

  21. “”But will you really live on earth with human beings? After all, the heavens can’t hold you. In fact, even the highest heavens can’t hold you. So this temple I’ve built certainly can’t hold you!”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭6:18‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

We serve a might God!! There’s no end to our God. It’s amazing to know that He came to this earth as a man. He exposed Himself to the problems and struggles we face but He was still God. He did it all for our salvation. What a privilege to know that our bodies are the temple of God.

“Don’t you know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit? The Spirit is in you. You have received him from God. You do not belong to yourselves. Christ has paid the price for you. So use your bodies in a way that honors God.”
    ‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭6:19-20‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

  22. 13 For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven.

We serve a God that keeps his promises he said he would never leave us nor for sake us. He is the Almighty God and beside him there is no other.

  23. 2 But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.

Have we built our house on a rock or on sand? When building our ‘house’ in our heart and in our physical lives for the kingdom of God, when we are building a foundation for our relationship with God to grow deeper, we need to make sure we build it on a rock so it will stand in the hard times and the good times that we go through.

  24. 8 But the Lord said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

9 Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name.

It was the desire of David to build the house for the Lord, however because of all the battles he had been involved in, the Lord choose that it would bring too much controversy to allow David to build the house, that another would be responsible for it.

It’s possible in our lives that God places things in our heart for us to accomplish for Him, but things that we involve ourselves in exempts us from completing those things because it would bring controversy to the Kingdom of God.

  25. “Then hear thou from heaven thy dwelling place, and forgive, and render unto every man according unto all his ways, whose heart thou knowest; (for thou only knowest the hearts of the children of men:)”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭6:30‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He still knows our hearts. From day 1, God hasn’t changed, He still looks at our hearts to know what our intentions, what are desires are. We have to be aware of what we let inside our heart, which starts with what we allow to take root in our minds. Just like the more we expose ourselves to the Word of God it will take root in our heart- The more we expose ourselves to the things of this world is the more likely our heart will be overtaken by the world.

I thank God He tells us to examine ourselves. I pray our hearts line up with the will of God

  26. 2 Chronicles 6:24-31,34-39
[24]“If your people Israel are defeated by their enemies because they have sinned against you, and if they turn back and acknowledge your name and pray to you here in this Temple,
[25]then hear from heaven and forgive the sin of your people Israel and return them to this land you gave to them and to their ancestors.
[26]“If the skies are shut up and there is no rain because your people have sinned against you, and if they pray toward this Temple and acknowledge your name and turn from their sins because you have punished them,
[27]then hear from heaven and forgive the sins of your servants, your people Israel. Teach them to follow the right path, and send rain on your land that you have given to your people as their special possession.
[28]“If there is a famine in the land or a plague or crop disease or attacks of locusts or caterpillars, or if your people’s enemies are in the land besieging their towns—whatever disaster or disease there is—
[29]and if your people Israel pray about their troubles or sorrow, raising their hands toward this Temple,
[30]then hear from heaven where you live, and forgive. Give your people what their actions deserve, for you alone know each human heart.
[31]Then they will fear you and walk in your ways as long as they live in the land you gave to our ancestors.
[34]“If your people go out where you send them to fight their enemies, and if they pray to you by turning toward this city you have chosen and toward this Temple I have built to honor your name,
[35]then hear their prayers from heaven and uphold their cause.
[36]“If they sin against you—and who has never sinned?—you might become angry with them and let their enemies conquer them and take them captive to a foreign land far away or near.
[37]But in that land of exile, they might turn to you in repentance and pray, ‘We have sinned, done evil, and acted wickedly.’
[38]If they turn to you with their whole heart and soul in the land of their captivity and pray toward the land you gave to their ancestors—toward this city you have chosen, and toward this Temple I have built to honor your name—
[39]then hear their prayers and their petitions from heaven where you live, and uphold their cause. Forgive your people who have sinned against you.

He will hear from Heaven and forgive our sin
He will heal our land but it starts right here
We’re the people who are called by His name
If we’ll surrender all our pride and turn from our ways
He will hear from Heaven and forgive our sin
    He will heal our land
It’s got to start right here
It’s got to start right now
    Lord, I’m starting right here
    Lord, I’m starting right now
It’s got to start right here
It’s got to start right now
    Lord, I’m starting right here
    Lord, I’m starting right now

    Thank you Jesus

  27. 39 Then hear thou from the heavens, even from thy dwelling place, their prayer and their supplications, and maintain their cause, and forgive thy people which have sinned against thee.

    2 Corinthians 10:4
(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Prayer is our weapon and our praises opens the windows of Heaven to rain down blessings! God created us to worship Him with our whole hearts; surrendering our will to Him.

  28. 42O LORD God, do not reject the king you have anointed. Remember your unfailing love for your servant David.”

May be times we feel that God has rejected us. We go thru trouble times, with worries of life. But God will not forget you. You show God your love towards him, he will be there for you when needed.

  29. “…Remember your unfailing love…”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭6:42‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It never fails when you fall, or stumble. The advisory will be right there to do the best he can to keep you down. However, the word says “unfailing love”.

There is absolutely nothing we can do to make Jesus stop loving us. Regardless of what you have done. Remember Jesus will be there to help dust you off, and love you through correction.

  30. 2 Chronicles 6 mentioned several times about praying and forgiveness. These are two very important things that our Lord Jesus wants us to do.

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:1

    “Pray continuously.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

  31. “Now I have built a glorious Temple for you, a place where you can live forever!””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭6:2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Have you ever been to a place that you dreaded ever having to go back to? Whether it be because of the atmosphere or just how it looked on the inside. Perhaps it was because you didn’t feel welcome there.

Whatever of the reason, my point is; is this how we make Jesus feel about our temple? (body)

Unlike us, Jesus’s love is limitless. It knows no bounds, so He will continue to love us regardless. But shouldn’t we want to build a temple, He wants to inhabit? A temple that He feels welcome in.

  32. 6 But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.
7 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.
8 But the Lord said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

David was chosen yet restricted. He would be leader of people yet not fulfill his greatest dream. A few bad choices costed him his dream. We must learn from David that our choices matter. Our choices could cause us to be restricted in areas that we deeply desire to fulfill things.

  33. 7 Now it was in the heart of David my father to build an house for the name of the Lord God of Israel.

8 But the Lord said to David my father, Forasmuch as it was in thine heart to build an house for my name, thou didst well in that it was in thine heart:

9 Notwithstanding thou shalt not build the house; but thy son which shall come forth out of thy loins, he shall build the house for my name

There is somethings that the older generation could not do because God wanted this generation to do.
David wanted to build the house of the Lord but God said your son will build it the next generation will build.
What is it that God is wanting us to build? We must find it and build.

  34. 19 Have respect therefore to the prayer of thy servant, and to his supplication, O Lord my God, to hearken unto the cry and the prayer which thy servant prayeth before thee:

The prayer that king Solomon made for the house that he built for the Lord was admirable and of great things. There was one thing that kept resounding from his prayer which was this: if men repent and pray, then hear. The formula has not changed much. The first step is to turn from our wicked ways. To humble ourselves and turn back and then pray to God. Pray to God. Reestablishing that relationship that once was pray to God. Talk to him and walk in his ways.

  35. 14 And said, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:

There is still only one true God and his name is Jesus. I don’t care what the world says, there is no God like our God. By his word the heavens and the earth was created. He holds all power in his hand. Whenever I get in trouble, I can call on his name and he’ll be right there.

  36. In this chapter what came to me was that our choices and decisions matter. Sometimes we might not realize it but things we decide have to be fair to everyone. We can sometimes make choices that other people get hurt by, and not even notice. We have to make sure everyone is being included and fair.

  37. 14 He prayed, “O Lord, God of Israel, there is no God like you in all of heaven and earth. You keep your covenant and show unfailing love to all who walk before you in wholehearted devotion.
    2 Chronicles 6:14 NLT

There is nothing or no one in this world that can compare to the Lord, and how much he cares, protects, an loves us. The Lord keeps his promises for he will never fail you, he will guide you and protect you. During your walk with God you will go through trials and even though you feel like God isn’t there he is and he is helping you get stronger. Have faith in the Lord for he will always love and protect you and do what’s best for you, let us spread his light to those lost in fear and give them hope.

  38. 2 But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.

Let us build a temple within us where God can inhabit and dwell for ever. Let our house be filled with praises and with the word of God. Where the Spirit of the Lord Jesus dwells there’s love, peace and security. So construct and lay out your home in Jesus Christ!

  39. “Nevertheless you shall not build the house, but your son who will be born to you, he shall build the house for My Name.’ Now the LORD has fulfilled His word which He spoke; for I have risen in place of my father David and I sit on the throne of Israel, just as the LORD promised, and have built the house for the Name of the LORD, the God of Israel.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭6:9-10‬ ‭AMP‬‬

He is a keeper of his promises. When god says something he will make it come to pass. We see that David had a willing heart but god chose Solomon and it came to pass as God said it would. Whenever god tells us something is going to happen we must remain steadfast on his words and know it will come to pass. When god gives us instructions we must obey them. Even if it doesn’t seem right we must always obey.

  40. 14 And said, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:

15 Thou which hast kept with thy servant David my father that which thou hast promised him; and spakest with thy mouth, and hast fulfilled it with thine hand, as it is this day.

AMEN! There is no God like you Jesus!!! You never lie, you always keep your word! Nothing and no one compares to you Jesus! We can search anywhere we want but we will never find anyone like you Lord! You are the life!!! You are what keeps us alive breathing daily and for that I praise you and thank you Jesus! I don’t deserve anything but thanks to you I am beyond blessed!!! Thank you Jesus!!!

  41. “Now Solomon had made a bronze platform 7 1 / 2 feet long, 7 1 / 2 feet wide, and 4 1 / 2 feet high and had placed it at the center of the Temple’s outer courtyard. He stood on the platform, and then he knelt in front of the entire community of Israel and lifted his hands toward heaven.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭6:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/2ch.6.13.nlt

Are we praying with humility? Humility is modest or low view of one’s own importance; humbleness According to brother google. Pray with humility, humbleness and pure hearts I pray the we would pray with humility and with love.

  42. “then hear from heaven where you live, and forgive. Give your people what their actions deserve, for you alone know each human heart. Then they will fear you and walk in your ways as long as they live in the land you gave to our ancestors.”
    2 Chronicles 6:30-31 NLT

As we continually build our relationship with Jesus and grow more in Him. God will cause a storm to come in your life to reveal some sin or worldly desire we may still have in our hearts that interferes our walk with Christ Jesus. So let us allow God to come examine our heart and to let Him remove our carnal desires. We are overcomers! God will give us victory.

  43. 14 And said, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:

Not even in the smallest detail does my DADDY lack!!! My GOD IS FAITHFUL!!! HALELUJAH!!! THANK YOU JESUS!!!

  44. 41 Now therefore arise, O Lord God, into thy resting place, thou, and the ark of thy strength: let thy priests, O Lord God, be clothed with salvation, and let thy saints rejoice in goodness.

Praying and just sitting there talking to God can be one of the best resting places. It’s peaceful and quiet and it’s just you and God.

  45. ““When they sin against You (for there is no man who does not sin) and You are angry with them and hand them over to an enemy, so that they take them away captive to a land far away or near,

if they return to You with all their heart and with all their soul in the land of their captivity, and pray facing their land which You have given to their fathers and toward the city which You have chosen, and toward the house which I have built for Your Name;”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭6:36, 38‬ ‭AMP‬‬

God is more than willing to forgive us when we sin against him, but can we put our pride to the side and admit we have wronged him? It’s when we confess we are wrong that we can truly be released of the punishment that seems fair to the circumstances.

  46. 1 Then said Solomon, The Lord hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.
2 But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.
3 And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood.

Many times we hear the promises from God, and go back to our lives, even when we receive them, just to discover that something happens and the prophecy doesn’t hold true?!? It’s not that God is a liar. It’s not that the prophet missed it. It’s simply Jesus proving our faith or where we walked away from His plan. God didn’t stay in the tabernacle forever, because Israel didn’t keep Him first…

    Think about it.

  47. “For Solomon had made a brasen scaffold, of five cubits long, and five cubits broad, and three cubits high, and had set it in the midst of the court: and upon it he stood, and kneeled down upon his knees before all the congregation of Israel, and spread forth his hands toward heaven, And said, O Lord God of Israel, there is no God like thee in the heaven, nor in the earth; which keepest covenant, and shewest mercy unto thy servants, that walk before thee with all their hearts:”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭6:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is important for the people to see their leader worship God. This lets the people know that the leader fears God. It also is an example to some ho might not know what to do.

  48. That thine eyes may be open upon this house day and night, upon the place whereof thou hast said that thou wouldest put thy name there; to hearken unto the prayer which thy servant prayeth toward this place.

21 Hearken therefore unto the supplications of thy servant, and of thy people Israel, which they shall make toward this place: hear thou from thy dwelling place, even from heaven; and when thou hearest, forgive.

God hears the cries of His people. I praise You, my God for hearing my prayers. I’m still seeing prayers answered of what I’ve prayed years ago. God is so good.

  49. 1 Then said Solomon, The Lord hath said that he would dwell in the thick darkness.

2 But I have built an house of habitation for thee, and a place for thy dwelling for ever.

3 And the king turned his face, and blessed the whole congregation of Israel: and all the congregation of Israel stood.

4 And he said, Blessed be the Lord God of Israel, who hath with his hands fulfilled that which he spake with his mouth to my father David, saying,

5 Since the day that I brought forth my people out of the land of Egypt I chose no city among all the tribes of Israel to build an house in, that my name might be there; neither chose I any man to be a ruler over my people Israel:

6 But I have chosen Jerusalem, that my name might be there; and have chosen David to be over my people Israel.

    The Message

    1-2 Then Solomon said,

God said he would dwell in a cloud,
But I’ve built a temple most splendid,
A place for you to live in forever.

3 The king then turned to face the congregation that had come together and blessed them:

4-6 “Blessed be God, the God of Israel, who spoke personally to my father David. Now he has done what he promised when he said, ‘From the day I brought my people Israel up from Egypt, I haven’t set apart one city among the tribes of Israel in which to build a temple to honor my Name, or chosen one person to be the leader. But now I have chosen both a city and a person: Jerusalem for honoring my Name and David to lead my people Israel.

  50. 25 Then hear thou from the heavens, and forgive the sin of thy people Israel, and bring them again unto the land which thou gavest to them and to their fathers.
    26 When the heaven is shut up, and there is no rain, because they have sinned against thee; yet if they pray toward this place, and confess thy name, and turn from their sin, when thou dost afflict them;

Have you ever wondered if we’ve been in this situation and not known?? As a child, we had read these scriptures in Sunday School and there was a whole lesson about it. Then I don’t remember if it was that same year or the next year, but the Ice Storm of ‘99 happened. As we sat in my grandmother’s house for several weeks, not being able to go to work or school, I remembered that lesson. I prayed every day throughout that Ice Storm thinking that we (as a child I thought the church I was going to, because I realize or consider all who it affected) were being punished.
