Ecclesiastes 3

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace.

What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?

10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.

11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

12 I know that there is no good in them, but for a man to rejoice, and to do good in his life.

13 And also that every man should eat and drink, and enjoy the good of all his labour, it is the gift of God.

14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

15 That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.

17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

18 I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts.

19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

  1. 1For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

    True, there is a time for everything. Fur the unrighteous it’s time for them to know who God is. Time for them to accept Jesus as Savior. Even for the righteous, we have to know when God is calling on you to go get the flock, and bring them to Jesus. God may call on you several times to go search and bring the lost.

    17A third time he asked him, “Simon son of John, do you love me?” Peter was hurt that Jesus asked the question a third time. He said, “Lord, you know everything. You know that I love you. Jesus said, “then feed my sheep.”

  2. That which hath been is now; and that which is to be hath already been; and God requireth that which is past.

    The Lord knows the end from the begining. There is a connection to the past in the present, and the Lord is in control. Typically the past forms our present condition and judgement is coming to all of mankind. We are admonished to veiw our present life in the context of eternity.

  3. Ecclesiastes 3

    1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

    3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

    4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

    5 A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to refrain from embracing;

    6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

    7 A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

  4. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    There is a reason for everything. There is a reason why we are going through the situation that we are going through maybe God is taking stuff out of our lives or putting faith in or trust in whatever you my be going through ask God what are you trying to teach me and how and what do I need to do to get through it.

  5. Verse 11 ERV “God gave us the ability to think about his world,[b] but we can never completely understand everything he does. And yet, he does everything at just the right time.” My God is an on time God!

    Isaiah 55:8-9 AMP “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” declares the Lord. “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways And My thoughts higher than your thoughts.”

    Ephesians 3:20-21 AMP “Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be the glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations forever and ever. Amen.”

  6. Ecclesiastes 3
    11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

    The Ugly Duckling
    To everything there is a season. Seasons of life . Birth , death , planting ,sowing. In this life we will always have questions. Even when the final destiny is such a reward for those whom have labored so diligently. We still question death and seasons. Why did the the ugly duckling feel so awkward and for season totally isolated? There was something beautiful taking place that no one even knew about until the day that the ugly duckling becomes this beautiful swan. Adversity, sorrow . God in His Time will make everything beautiful. Transformation taking place because of God. We may not understand the seasons of life but the Creator says to everything there is a season.

    CONTRAST by Joan Ewing

    Before every victory, there’s a battle to fight
    Before every sunrise, one must live thru the night;
    Before the grave bursts open on a resurrection morn
    There’s a hill to be climbed and a cross to be borne

    Jesus Jesus You know what’s best for me
    Lead on Jesus I’ll go wherever You lead.

    Into the ground a grain of wheat is fallen and is dead
    But on some tomorrow the hungry will have bread
    My sails were torn, my little boat tossed helplessly at sea
    But how else could I have learned that He’d rescued one like me.

  7. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    God is in control of everything. All of life’s circumstances are in the hands of God. Things happen on His timeline.

  8. 11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

    In time God makes everything beautiful. Rejoice in all that He has done and all that He will do. Have peace in knowing God’s promises are true and He will care for those who are faithful. Thank You Jesus!

  9. 11. and I know God has made everything beautiful for its time. God has also placed in our minds a sense of eternity; we look back on the past and ponder over the future, yet we cannot understand the doings of God.

    14. I know everything God does endures for all time. Nothing can be added to it; nothing can be taken away from it. We humans can only stand in awe of all God has done. Voice

    God has made everything beautiful for its time…
    If you can’t see the beauty is what God is doing in your life, be patient; He isn’t done yet – when it is time, it will be beautiful.

    Romans 8:28
    And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. KJV

  10. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
    2 A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;
    3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

    This was my dad’s favorite scripture and it is the one that we used at his funeral. If 2020 taught us anything it was that there is a season for everything and we must learn how to adapt to the things around us. This scripture gives me hope because it tells me that everything that is happening will eventually pass and we will find a way through. God is the master of all and sees the end from the beginning, there is no better hope that we have in knowing that all of the hard work we put in will eventually bring fruit

  11. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    SOVEREIGN GOD

    14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

    No man can change GOD, nor the things or times that HE has made.While the laws of GOD often frustrate man, we cannot change them. While TIME is nonstop and ever passing, we cannot stop it.

    The words of the Preacher here teach us to make the best of what our life presents, enjoy our time here on earth as we all know it is temporary. The intent of the LORD is that man will fear (honor and respect) GOD to the point of allowing our FAITH in HIM to grow to the level of LOVE that HE has for us.

    We should accept that we cannot change the SOVEREIGN GOD, but HE can change us to be like HIM.

  12. I have known
    I have understood
    I have seen
    ….
    3:12 I know that there is no good in them
    But for a man to rejoice and to do god in his life.
    —-
    Let us remember that God gave him wisdom and understanding and he himself said that he spend his life studying all these thing, finding the meaning of life…
    So ( in my opinion) he knows what he is talking about.
    So, I am going to do what he says..
    To rejoice and do good in this life.😀
    In Jesus name.
    Keep on keeping on.
    Hallelujah 🙌
    THIS IS THE DAY, THAT THE LORD HAS MADE
    WE WILL REJOICE AND BE GLAD IN IT.

  13. Ecclesiastes 3:17, “I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.”

    There is coming a day of judgment for each and everyone, righteous or wicked, and on that day, we will give an account for every idle word we have spoken (St. Matt. 12:36), and when the book of life is open, we will be judged according to our works (Rev. 20:12).

  14. 14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

    The things that God does is forever set. There are many today that have tried to change the word they have tried to add to it and many have tried to take away from it. But as the scripture is forever settled in heaven and the earth. Scripture also gives us the fact that Jesus is the Lord thy God and He changes not. I find the God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. As men and women it is wise to fear or revere god for his power and we have the ability to be filled with His Spirit. We should take every opportunity to do the will of God to reach the lost of this world and have revival in the midst of chaos and see the power of God transform as many that will receive God. Live and Give Jesus!

  15. 14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

    My God never changes. He is the same yesterday, today, and always!!! That is something I can count on! I can hold on fast to Him which does everything forever!!! In this world where everything is in constant change and spiraling in chaos, my God stays the same. What a gift it is to know that seasons will change, laws will change, society will change; but Jesus Never changes!!

  16. Ecclesiastes 3: 16-17 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
    17] I said in my mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked; for there is time there for every purpose and for every work.
    Revelation 21:12 And I saw the dead small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened; which this is the book of life and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books according to their works.
    I know in my heart God is cleaning out our bodies of things that are not good for us everyday he is taking something out.
    To get us prepared and ready for his comming!
    My heart cries out !

  17. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
    21 Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

    The spirit of man goes upward and the animal goes downward to the earth. This is just another scripture that proves man and animals are different. If we would have evolved from monkeys, we would both go to the same place. Man has hope of a life with God while animals do not have the same hope, even though the Preacher here describes us as not one better than the other (insinuating we both will soon die), one (human) is eternal while the other (animal) is temporal.

  18. 14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

    The plan from beginning to end was in the mind of God at our conception. Just like Job nothing cones to us that surprises God. Our own fears and doubts causes us to question what happens in our lives but if we can push past those feelings and just simply trust we will be at peace.

  19. 17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

    No matter what we go through in life, God will judge us in the end. So, no matter how many times we may fall, we must be determined to get back up and continue on the road that leads us ti Him.

  20. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth?

    22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him. ……….I read a couple of other translations and I just don’t really understand what those two verses I just posted really mean. So onward to some more research. I love POFW

  21. “There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven—

    He has made everything beautiful and appropriate in its time. He has also planted eternity [a sense of divine purpose] in the human heart [a mysterious longing which nothing under the sun can satisfy, except God]—yet man cannot find out (comprehend, grasp) what God has done (His overall plan) from the beginning to the end.”
    ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1, 11‬ ‭AMP‬‬

    God is the creator of all things. Don’t question god for anything that is done. Don’t try and figure it out. There will be times where we are in a certain season of our life and we don’t understand why but don’t question god. Don’t try and figure it out. God knows all things. There is a purpose for everything. When we are in those seasons that we may not understand and feel the need to question we should pray and thank him that he knows all and has a purpose in the season that we are currently in. Be patient and watch the beauty of god work!

  22. 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

    Don’t continue to hold on to things that you should let go of. Too many times we try to grab on to things that we don’t need to. Doing this causes us to loose focus on what God wants us to do. We must hold on to those things that are holy and let go of everything that is not of God. God is able to give us the strength needed in order to do great things.

  23. “I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.”
    ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Hallelujah ❤️

    To know and understand that everything is in the hands of Jesus Christ brings me peace, comfort, and joy. All I need to do is step aside and watch Him work all things out for the good.

    “Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  24. “All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.”
    ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    There is no respect of persons with God and there shouldn’t be with us either. We are all here because of Him. We breathe because He has breathed life into us. As we seek and search for the lost remember – He loves us all the same and have made each of us in His image!

  25. .
    16 And moreover I saw under the sun the place of judgment, that wickedness was there; and the place of righteousness, that iniquity was there.
    17 I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time there for every purpose and for every work.

    God will judge us According to the live and work we do for his kingdom. He will also judge the wicked.

  26. Ecclesiastes 3:11
    Yet God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God’s work from beginning to end.

    Beautiful Things
    Song by Gungor

    All this pain
    I wonder if I’ll ever find my way
    I wonder if my life could really change, at all
    All this earth
    Could all that is lost ever be found?
    Could a garden come out from this ground, at all?

    You make beautiful things
    You make beautiful things out of the dust
    You make beautiful things
    You make beautiful things out of us

    All around,
    Hope is springing up from this old ground
    Out of chaos life is being found, in you

    You make beautiful things
    You make beautiful things out of the dust
    You make beautiful things
    You make beautiful things out of us
    Oh, you make beautiful things
    You make beautiful things out of the dust
    You make beautiful things
    You make beautiful things out of us

    You make me new,
    You are making me new
    You make me new,
    You are making me new
    (Making me new)

    You make beautiful things
    You make beautiful things out of the dust
    You make beautiful things
    You make beautiful things out of us
    Oh, you make beautiful things
    You make beautiful things out of the dust
    You make beautiful things
    You make beautiful things out of us

    You make me new,
    You are making me new
    You make me new,
    You are making me new

  27. “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven. A time to be born and a time to die. A time to plant and a time to harvest. A time to kill and a time to heal. A time to tear down and a time to build up.”
    ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  28. 20 All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again.

    Rich, poor, great, small, kings, poppers, popular and insignificant all die the same death and go before the same judgment. Solomon who had everything he could ever dream of said it’s all nothing. Family, Work, and God are the balancing act for everyone of us. Let us keep our hearts fixed upon the things that really matter.

  29. To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    This is the time and season for growth, breakthrough, miracles, healing and much more. But it’s up to us to dwell on the promise or die from lack of faith .every one wants the breakthrough but not everyone has the faith for the breakthrough.

  30. So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.
    Ecclesiastes 3:12‭-‬13 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/ecc.3.12-13.NLT

    For some reason a lot of us are taught to believe that blessings should just come to us freely with no real investment on our part. But that’s not true. There are few things more satisfying than working your tail end off with honest work and then being able to sit down to a delicious meal that your pay bought to feed the ones you hold dearest in your heart. THAT, in my opinion, is the fruit of my labor! Hard work is a blessing!! And what comes after is the Cherry (the FRUIT) on top!

  31. “I said in mine heart; God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for there is a time for there every purpose and for every work.” Ecclesiastes 3:17

    God does want us to enjoy our time here on earth but he wants us to do this in a non sin nature. God is so wonderful, loving but we will be judged once we leave this world. Therefore, we must be as righteous as possible so we all shall enter into heaven!

  32. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    There is a time for everything. Yet in every thing you dont get your time back. What we do during the seasons and times of life matter. What investment are you doing with your time. What about the bad or dark times? How are you unfolding that time? Are we complaining or crying or fretting. Remember that time we do not get back. Yes its hard not to fuss when things are bad. Yes it’s hard not to complain when it hurts. But while you tho through the times of life make up in your mind what you want to remember out of. The tears or how it pushed you to seek after God. The pain or how you saw at a closer level the comforter. The trail or how you invested in learning what God wanted you to understand and your growth. To everything there is a time and a season and we do not have control over that, but we do have control over our reactions and investment of them in our time.

  33. In this chapter it was telling us that there is a time for everything. Everything has a correct time and place. We might think it’s not the right time but He has it all planned out. Some people question Gods ability to do things but there is no limit to his works! He has the right time in place for all of us. I pray tonight that we all trust His plan for our lives cause he has the limits!!!

  34. 12 So I concluded there is nothing better than to be happy and enjoy ourselves as long as we can. 13 And people should eat and drink and enjoy the fruits of their labor, for these are gifts from God.
    Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 NLT

    As the children of the Lord we are each beautifully blessed in way we cannot even imagine! The Lord blesses us even when we don’t notice it and even in our lowest he blesses us with his strength to overcome. Let us all come together and shine our light and joy on those hurting. Let us show them how wonderfully the Lord can bless and save them! Especially during these hard times, many have lost there way to the Lord and lost the light, show them the way and help them be refilled with the beautiful joy and light of the Lord!

  35. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    The true test of time is… Can we add Jesus into the time we have! We see through this chapter that there is a time and season for all thing and what we do in that time and season can be vanity. Yet, if we take every season and find Jesus in it we can turn vanity to prosperity. As I said yesterday only what we do for Christ will last. So put Jesus in all things.

  36. 11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

    Everything in HIS time will be beaitiful!!! Sometimes or most often we try to do our will and when we fail, we try to blame it on GOD or don’t want to take responsibility for our actions.that may or may not have been done in GOD’S order

  37. Gods timing is something we may never understand. What we do know is that He is an on time God. When He shows up it’s undeniable. We can study history to find out the past but never know still what the future will hold. It’s not for us to worry about. God makes everything beautiful in its own time. He controls the beginning to the end.

  38. 1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

    I quote this scripture all of the time. It is so true and has so many meanings and can be applied to so many situations in life.

    11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.
    22 Wherefore I perceive that there is nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that is his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him?

    He literally makes everything beautiful, as we can attest to living in this great truth. The only problem to the human eye is, we see that it’s not made fast enough. When really everything is in HIS TIME. We get impatient, but we just need to realize that He has perfect timing. We just need to sit back and not stress, but rather just let it happen as it should in His Time! Working hand and hand with that first scripture.

  39. “Then Christ will make his home in your hearts as you trust in him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep his love is.”
    ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭3:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/eph.3.17-18.nlt

    Let us grow deeper into Gods love for the deeper the relationship the harder is is to leave. God loves us with all his heart let return the love by growing into his will love and words.

  40. “a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a time to throw away,”
    Ecclesiastes 3:6 NIV

    Give God your time, your treasure, and your talent. Give it all to Him. Seek after God with all of your heart, soul, and mind ‘til you hear the Spirit of the Lord. Give up your carnal desire let your carnal desire died on the altar and receive God’s grace. Keep the laws of God. Let God increase in your life and let us decrease, open your heart to God. Let Him remove all the junk out of our life.

  41. “For everything there is a season, a time for every activity under heaven.

    A time to scatter stones and a time to gather stones. A time to embrace and a time to turn away.”
    ‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3:1, 5‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/ecc.3.1,5.nlt

    What time is it?
    I believe it’s time we go back to our roots and reach like never before. I believe it’s time to teach more bible studies than we ever taught because this time we’re living in is only instructing us to go deeper in all of these things so let’s go in Jesus name!

  42. As everything has its own season under heaven, we should not turn and try to go back when the season is over. When mourning is over, be joyous. Don’t be like a dog that returns to it’s own vomit. Move on to happiness.

  43. 6 A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

    Sometimes we will get and keep but there’s will be times where we lose and time will be cast away. So know that and prepare yourself when this times good/bad come to your life. God plans are greater than ours and know that we will win and lose too! Remain and stay planted in Jesus!

  44. 9 What profit hath he that worketh in that wherein he laboureth?
    10 I have seen the travail, which God hath given to the sons of men to be exercised in it.
    11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

    We cannot afford to loose sight of allowing Jesus to do His work, in His time.
    Many times we get caught up in building our little kingdoms and neglect His Kingdom because we decide to rest, or we “run out of time.” There is a day of judgement coming, when we all with have to answer for so much. Let’s minimize our sorrows that day by maximizing our Kingdom work now.
