Proverbs 31

The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.

10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

13 She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.

14 She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.

15 She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.

16 She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.

17 She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

18 She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.

19 She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.

20 She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.

21 She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.

22 She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.

23 Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.

24 She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.

25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

27 She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

  1. 30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

Some things are immeasurable as some things cannot be replaced. Worth more than any valuable material in the entire world. This world values everything that is short-lived and is immediately gratifying but to have someone in your life hold you up during wait times if something that doesn’t even have a way to measure its beauty. The most beautiful things in life, truly last in the presence of God

  2. 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

The Church is the bride of Christ. The Church has been bought with a price and it is precious to the Lord.

  3. 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.

Just like Adam in the garden,God gave him a help mate to keep him company and to make sure that he wasn’t alone. When we find a wife the scripture states that we find a good thing. We have a help mate through out the process of this journey. Just like having a good wife, the Lord has a bride the church. He is getting her ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. He has adorned her with a spotless robe of white and getting ready to call her out of this world. We have to remain pure of heart and pure of spirit.

When we see Jesus, we all will stand before him and going to be judged. But as the bride does walk the aisle, we will be getting ready to see the magnificent glory of God. So we have to be ready to keep things of this world from ruining our special day with the bride groom. We have to be prepared for no man knows not the day nor out of his return. Live Jesus to give Jesus like it is going to be today.

  4. Proverbs 31
She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness.

Clothed in His presence daily is the secret ingredient to this chapter. She rises while it is yet night and prepares for her family . I was taught many years ago this was gathering and the preparation of spiritual food, mental food which truly can give you strength physically.
The Amplified translation says She equips herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task]
    And makes her arms strong.

One of the greatest gifts given to me was how to find strength in prayer. This woman seems without flaws in this chapter yet she is not . She has found the secret ingredient to strength. Lord I pray for every woman and man who are facing challenges at this moment. Who need to be equipped with your strength. I pray God we as women will clothe our self with the strength You give and when we are feeling the pressures of life remind us You came so that we could have power within us. Strength and Dignity no matter the challenge . In Jesus name.
His strength is perfect …..don’t let this chapter intimidate you rise to the challenge and do your best that is all God asks.

  5. “Open thy mouth, judge righteously, and plead the cause of the poor and needy.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:9‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We wonder why our nation is in an uproar with itself. There is a lack of reverence unto Jesus Christ. A lack of obedience. Love. Mercy. Compassion. And humility.
Sin and self righteousness has been embraced. We are living in a nation that’s all about me.’self gratification,.’ ‘What’s in it for me?’

“And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Righteousness [moral and spiritual integrity and virtuous character] exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭14:34‬ ‭AMP‬‬

This is where The church, we at POFW rises to its feet and intercede for our region, our cities, our nation! If not us, then who? Revival is not on its way. REVIVAL IS HERE. Let us embrace everyone that walks in through the doors of POFW, Live • Give • JESUS 2

Jesus allow every prophetic word spoken throughout the years over our region come alive!!!!

  6. 10. Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

    27. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

    28. Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

So thankful for the virtuous lady God has blessed me with! She looks well to the ways of our household and is the model example of a help meet for me. This is the perfect chapter and day to publicly give her some praise and much deserved recognition! Love you, Angel!

  7. “Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:30‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Charm and beauty can be superficial. However, a woman who fears the Lord is more trustworthy.

    WHAT MOMMA TEACHES ABOUT WOMEN

1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.
2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?
3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

Most of my life, I have heard the phrase “Love is Blind”. I have found and seen this to be true. Often for the positive, occasionally for the negative. For the positive, Love is Blind to the faults, frailties and failures of the ones Loved. For the negative, Love is blind to those that are selfish.

I have also learned in my short season with my own mother that she knew when I was about to be blindsided by love. Young men listen to WHAT MOMMA TEACHES ABOUT WOMEN.

No doubt this Proverb is the result of the pain and agony of the fall of the wisest and richest man of all time King Solomon. If men will follow the WISDOM of GOD rather than the wisdom of man, we will no doubt be better for IT.

    Be Blessed as we celebrate the Love of GOD today;

    iRepent
    iPriase
    iPray
    iWork
    iLive
    iGive
    iReap

  9. Proverbs 31

1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

2 What, my son? and what, the son of my womb? and what, the son of my vows?

3 Give not thy strength unto women, nor thy ways to that which destroyeth kings.

4 It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink:

5 Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.

6 Give strong drink unto him that is ready to perish, and wine unto those that be of heavy hearts.

7 Let him drink, and forget his poverty, and remember his misery no more.

8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

  10. 30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

Don’t close a wife by her looks alone for that’s temporary and fades away, but choose her for her spirit, for the way she loves the Lord and Praises Him. By the way she loves and cares for her parents and the elders. By the way she manages what she is given and what she gives. The same goes for a husband. They should be dedicated with all they do. He should love the Lord first and he should love his parents and treat them with respect. Both wives and husbands should show the fruits of their labor. They should first love the Lord with all of their hearts, then each other.

  11. 5 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

26 She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

Come on Women of God – let your strength and honor be seen by your actions and reactions and allow wisdom to come from your mouth. We cannot be talebearers or gossipers but we must allow the kindness of God to radiate from us. They say actions speak louder than words, so let our actions be Christlike and represent not only our families well, but represent Jesus Christ well. We are the only bible that some people read.

  12. Prov. 31 : 30 Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain; But a that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised .
Luke 1: 45 And Blessed is she that believed; for there shall be a performance of those things which were told her from the Lord.
Luke 1: 46] And Mary said , My soul doth magnify the Lord.
I heard before that beauty is only skin deep , Nothing compares to the beauty of the Lord .
The women that fears the Lord is more trustworthy.
    A relationship with Lord trustworthy.
For I love him and I trust him with all my heart.
    Hallelujah praise God.

  13. 28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.

When you find a virtuous woman, you’ve found a jewel. She knows how to balance the spirit and the natural. She doesn’t take things to the extreme. A woman that is wise will choose prayer before any other action. A good relationship has God at the forefront and both husband and wife knows this. Always keep God in front so you can always follow him.

  14. 31:12 she will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
    —-
    That’s right.!!!
For she walks by faith and not by feelings.
For the love of Jesus is within her.
Hallelujah, Blessed be the name of the Lord.

  15. “Favor is deceitful and beauty is vain; but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.”
    Proverb 31:30

As women we need to show the love of God to everyone. At my job we can pray, so two of us women pray at work. It is a blessing that we can do this. We must do anything we can to represent Jesus in a positive way. When we have responsibilities we must do them without complaining, and enjoy what God has given to us.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  16. Proverbs 31:13, “She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.”

This scripture brought 2 other scriptures to mind, Ecclesiastes 9:10 and Colossians 3:23.
Ecc. 9:10 says, “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might,…”
Col. 3:23 says, “And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord,…”

WILLINGLY means of one’s own free will, by choice, readily, cheerfully, happily, gladly, with pleasure, eagerly, enthusiastically, freely, etc…
MIGHT means do it well, do it with intense purpose and feeling
HEARTILY means wholehearted, sincerely, eagerly, enthusiastically, zealously, or it can mean do it right, do it well, do it sincerely, do it mightily, do it completely, etc…

So when WORKING in and for God’s Kingdom, we should do it WILLINGLY, MIGHTILY, and HEARTILY!!

  17. 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

Apostolic, woman of God, you are beautiful and of so much worth.

It seems like the Preacher, the Author of the Proverbs, the wise king himself, wanted to end with something of great value. We must be attentive of the motives and value of expression he gives. There are several chapters that describe and warn over and over again against the strange woman and her deceptive ways, her ways of destruction. And only almost one whole chapter to describe the woman of God. Her values her qualities, her attributes. All of high value and worth. God did not make a mistake when created a right help meet for man. A compliment and a blessing to man. The beauty of the godly woman outshines what this world may share a beautiful. With no need for make up or any fake add-ons the Godly truly mesmerizing where she goes. Single Men, we should really look and see to what God shows what a blessing a woman of God is. Married man, this scripture is here and you should pray this attributes for your wife.

  18. 1 The words of king Lemuel, the prophecy that his mother taught him.

There is big conviction in this small verse. How many prophesies have we let go unspoken after their initial utterance? We have to remind ourselves and our children what has been spoken over us in prophesy. It is an indictment on us as parents that we don’t remind our children about the prophesies that have gone forth. We cannot let those prophetic words die unfulfilled when the world around is desperate need of a move of God. The mother being the church has to get the word out about this end time!

  19. 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

There is much to be said about being able to trust someone…

  20. 12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

The one thing that sticks out greatly is that this kings advice came from his mother. In this chapter we found out what a woman should look like.

As a mother and wife we may not always do everything right but our heart but our hearts are so desperate to keep our homes in peace and in the will of God. I want my daughter to be a “proverbs 31” woman and my sons to marry one. But all with the understanding that the same strength she is pouring into the home is the same strength He is pouring in. We all give 100. We all are walking in love which is patient, kind, and gentle and we all need help.

She is strong because she knows her weakness and is not afraid to say today I need your help to make it over this valley.

The church is the bride and Jesus is the groom. The church should never get to the point where she forgets to ask for help from the one that created all things. Jesus designed it for us to have dominion here on the earth but not to the point we do not need him and we forget to do all things in the name of there Lord Jesus Christ.

The same with the strong woman. Everything I do… we do and we are doing it all in the name of Jesus. So, sons listen to your mother and find a virtuous women. She is strong yet she knows her place and is willing to fight hell on her knees on prayer to see you and your family walking in the will of God.

  21. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Wow, what a great chapter! The Word of God is Powerful! Look at this godly woman’s example. She is an example of a hard working trustworthy woman. Of course, we also understand that this woman is an example of the bride of Christ. We the church must be fearless and work in the Kingdom. Nothing should stop us, we should not be afraid of the cold and we should always be industrious.

  22. Proverbs 31
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

31 Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.

I speak of woman in the POFW church who live this pattern Proverb 31. Who by their actions demonstrate there love for their God and then to their husbands and children. Their husbands watch after there wives and see examples of Righteous living. I have seen that their homes are homes of nurture and correction by the way that her children respect her and honor her by there demeaner. I praise the Lord Jesus for such family’s.

  23. 8 Open thy mouth for the dumb in the cause of all such as are appointed to destruction.

We must always remember that we hold the power of life and death in our tongue and we must always carry caution with every word we say, because In a fraction of a second we could speak death to a dream, goal, or ever say something that could hinder a lost soul from being saved. So we must always speak life and blessings every time we open our mouths.

  24. 30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

What you see on the outside isn’t always what it seems. The great appearance may be a vain cover; and the humbled appearance may cover great glory. What’s most important ladies isn’t always how we present ourselves, but how we establish our altar before the Lord. How He sees us is most important!

  25. 25 Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

My grandmother and mother always taught that one day when I was a wife that the first thing to learn was that you (as a wife/mother) you are known by the image you portray, how you dress your family… doesn’t have to the most expensive but it needs to clean and pressed! Secondly, your home speaks volumes about your family dynamic; thirdly you are accountable for how your children behave outside and inside your home. Thirdly, you are known by the words that come from your mouth …. are they spoken with love or screeched in anger l? And last, but not least, you should never put down or demean one another. We must remember also when you have children are listening and learning from situations around them. “Little elephants have big ears!”

  26. “It is not for kings, O Lemuel, to guzzle wine. Rulers should not crave alcohol.

Let them drink to forget their poverty and remember their troubles no more.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:4, 7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s a mindset- We are either Kingdom minded or not. To be a kingdom minded means we walk in the authority of God and stand on His assurance knowing His guidance will always lead us to victory. Not being a kingdom minded will lead us to see the worst in the truss of life instead of what God wants to show us. I thank God He gives us the decision to choose which mindset we have. I pray we adopt a Kingdom mindset, seeking His glory and not our own.

  27. 8 Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. 9 Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
    Proverbs 31:8-9 NLT

What good comes out of bringing other people down? Nothing right. Let us make sure that we are not speaking of evil but of the loving wise words the Lord fills us with daily. As the children of the Lord we should be helping people up into the light of the Lord taking them guiding them out of their hurting, their darkness and helping them find joy and peace with the Lord. Let us go together as one helping those hurting with no hope in them and reflect the light is shining on you and shine it on them show them there is a God who can do all and save all.

  28. “Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:10, 26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This chapter talks about the virtuous woman . Although this chapter talks about a woman we can apply this to all Christians. We are the bride of Christ and as the bride we should walk in his wisdom. We should carry ourself in representation of god. We are precious jewels to him and his kingdom. We should be thankful that we have a savior that considers us his bride and as his bride we want to make sure we are clean and living holy. This is why we must always be in repentance daily and feeding our spiritual man the word of god and praying to continue to keep the wisdom that we as his bride should walk in and have.

  29. In this chapter I think it was trying to tell us to bring all of our problems and issues to him. It was telling us also how to test one another. As if your were a married couple the man of the house should look over the children and wife carefully. I pray tonight that we are all being carful and safe, and letting God look over us to make sure we are doing right.

  30. It is not for kings, O Lemuel, to guzzle wine. Rulers should not crave alcohol. For if they drink, they may forget the law and not give justice to the oppressed.
    Proverbs 31:4‭-‬5 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/pro.31.4-5.NLT

To whom much is given much is required. As God exalts people into high positions there’s a level of responsibility. There’s no room for “one sip or one drink”
The stakes are too high, especially when it will impact more than yourself. I’m grateful for almost 8 years of sobriety by the Hand of God and I’m reminded everyday in some way of where He brought me from. I bless Your Holy Name.

  31. “Charm is deceptive, and beauty does not last; but a woman who fears the Lord will be greatly praised. Reward her for all she has done. Let her deeds publicly declare her praise.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:30-31‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/pro.31.30-31.nlt

A need a fearful woman in a relationship a woman who fears the Lord and will bring goodness to the family and to the Lord.

  32. “The woman to be admired and praised
is the woman who lives in the Fear-of-God.”

In today’s society there are many type of women to admire and follow after. However if she isn’t LIVING and GIVING Jesus everyday and you decide to follow in her footsteps. You’ll each miss the most important aspect of life; a relationship with JESUS.

  33. Proverbs 31:25
She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.

    The Lord is our strength.

    Isaiah 41:10
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand.

    2 Timothy 1:7
For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

  34. 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

We that have found virtuous women are so very blessed! We have found a priceless treasure. She does good and not evil.

28 Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
29 Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

If you have a virtuous woman be sure to praise her, take care of her. If she fears the Lord she should be praised.

  35. 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.

  36. 10 Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
11 The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
12 She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

30 Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.

  37. Verse 30 AMP “Charm and grace are deceptive, and [superficial] beauty is vain,
But a woman who fears the Lord [reverently worshiping, obeying, serving, and trusting Him with awe-filled respect], she shall be praised.” Ephesians 5:25 Husbands, love your wives [seek the highest good for her and surround her with a caring, unselfish love], just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for her,”.

  38. Proverbs 31

“It is not for kings, O Lemuel, to guzzle wine. Rulers should not crave alcohol. For if they drink, they may forget the law and not give justice to the oppressed. Alcohol is for the dying, and wine for those in bitter distress. Let them drink to forget their poverty and remember their troubles no more.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:4-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Every person that has ever been an alcoholic never did it for the taste solely. For the most part it was to forget about reality and escape from what was haunting them the most. Yeah alcoholism is mostly introduced as a good time but eventually graduates to wanting to numb all the pain and fill a void in someone’s heart that only God can fill.

So I share today for those who have yet been able to share for addiction

“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Those that are bound by addiction I am praying for you. God is the only one that can deliver you but hear me out…it takes two to tango. You can ask any of those who have been delivered. When God says “can you do this” he’s telling you i will take it away but you have to keep it away and say no to your flesh. That means eliminating some people that use to influence those addictions. That means forbidding yourself to go in a camp that has YOUR stronghold. Ive seen many delivered but I’ve seen many fall right back in to the dark place they were delivered from. If you could ever commit to yourself and say I’m not going back, then God will truly use you to impact someone else struggling with something similar that you did.

  39. Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. This is my goal to my God. He is worthy!

  40. “It is not for kings, O Lemuel, it is not for kings to drink wine; nor for princes strong drink: Lest they drink, and forget the law, and pervert the judgment of any of the afflicted.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We are the children of the king of kings. We are royalty. What would happen if our judgement was impaired and we couldn’t help the affected sinners? We have to stay sober minded all the time so that we are ready to help those who are addicted at a moment’s notice.

  41. “She equips herself with strength [spiritual, mental, and physical fitness for her God-given task] And makes her arms strong.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭31:17‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Equip- is to supply with necessary item for a particular purpose

She made sure she had what she needed spiritually, mentally and physical for her God-given task.
