1 Kings 14

At that time Abijah the son of Jeroboam fell sick.

And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people.

And take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he shall tell thee what shall become of the child.

And Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.

And the Lord said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.

And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with heavy tidings.

Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith the LordGod of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,

And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;

But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:

10 Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.

11 Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat: for the Lord hath spoken it.

12 Arise thou therefore, get thee to thine own house: and when thy feet enter into the city, the child shall die.

13 And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward the Lord God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.

14 Moreover the Lord shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.

15 For the Lord shall smite Israel, as a reed is shaken in the water, and he shall root up Israel out of this good land, which he gave to their fathers, and shall scatter them beyond the river, because they have made their groves, provoking the Lord to anger.

16 And he shall give Israel up because of the sins of Jeroboam, who did sin, and who made Israel to sin.

17 And Jeroboam’s wife arose, and departed, and came to Tirzah: and when she came to the threshold of the door, the child died;

18 And they buried him; and all Israel mourned for him, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by the hand of his servant Ahijah the prophet.

19 And the rest of the acts of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold, they are written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel.

20 And the days which Jeroboam reigned were two and twenty years: and he slept with his fathers, and Nadab his son reigned in his stead.

21 And Rehoboam the son of Solomon reigned in Judah. Rehoboam was forty and one years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord did choose out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess.

22 And Judah did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.

23 For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.

24 And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.

25 And it came to pass in the fifth year of king Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem:

26 And he took away the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king’s house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

27 And king Rehoboam made in their stead brasen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door of the king’s house.

28 And it was so, when the king went into the house of the Lord, that the guard bare them, and brought them back into the guard chamber.

29 Now the rest of the acts of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

30 And there was war between Rehoboam and Jeroboam all their days.

31 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess. And Abijam his son reigned in his stead.

  1. “And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭14:8‬ ‭KJV

Sin has a way of disguising itself in order to deceive oneself, if you’re not careful it will bring forth death.
To be chosen by GOD to become king, yet you choose to live life according to your own will. The pleasure of sin will only gratify for a moment. One does not see the long term spiritual effect.

“Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”
    ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭6:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

True Love for GOD and obedience to his word, protects and guides. It will lead you eternal life

True repentance, can always change your destiny. .

  2. I kings 14
    Deception, Idolatry, Disobedience , Death
A loss of direction comes from not keeping God at the center of it all.
Self will over God’s will .
The loss of holding to the principles , commandments and promises of God.
I pray for each and everyone of us and our leaders spiritually and naturally. We must uphold the Word of God and keep them close to our hearts. We cannot be deceived snd must keep the commandments of God.
Jesus be the center of it all .

  3. “He will abandon Israel because Jeroboam sinned and made Israel sin along with him.””
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭14:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Jereboam had a thought. A thought contrary to what the Lord spoke to him and this thought turned into action ended up affecting his whole bloodline. This thought in action affected all of Israel. This thought in action brought destruction to the house of the Lord. Our sin affects more than just us. Our sin affects our family, our neighbors, our enemies – any and every one. Jereboam had many times to repent and turn back to the Lord but in the end his sin deceived him so much that he thought he could make a fool out of a man of God.

I thank God for this grace and mercy because at one point in my life that was me- placing God behind my back and putting my own will and desire first. I pray we stay submitted to Jesus and draw near to Him anytime we do wrong instead of pushing ourselves further away

  4. 2 And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people.

It is funny when the world is doing all they want and having fun, they celebrate but when the judgment comes to their house they always want to run to God. We find that jeroboam sent his wife unto the prophet and told her to disguise herself as though she would be able to fool God and the man of God. The very aspect that Ahijah would not be able to discern who she was but God had already told him.

When you pretend to be something different Monday through Saturday and then try to live for the kingdom of God on Sunday, your real motives will eventually be found out. No matter how much you fool everyone else, you can never fool God. We have to be real 24/7, 365 days a year honest with others, honest with God and most of all honest with ourselves. We can not be something we are not. It is time to give up and let God take over and direct us to where he wants us.

  5. “So Jeroboam told his wife, “Disguise yourself so that no one will recognize you as my wife. Then go to the prophet Ahijah at Shiloh—the man who told me I would become king.

But the Lord had told Ahijah, “Jeroboam’s wife will come here, pretending to be someone else. She will ask you about her son, for he is very sick. Give her the answer I give you.””
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭14:2, 5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What’s done in the dark will come to the light. You will reap what you sew. No matter how you try and cover up your sin god knows and sees all. While you try and cover it up he is already revealing it. It is just better to come to god with a submissive heart and ask for forgiveness than to go around trying to cover it up. At one point it will be revealed. God loves when we are honest with him. Just be open because he loves you. No need to cover it up because our actions will affect others.

Naamah an Ammonitess , why was her name so special that it was mention twice In this chapter.
She was also the only one of Solomon’s wives to be mentioned, within the Hebrew Bible, as having borne a child, things that make you Think in the Bible.

  7. Thank you Jesus Christ for today b, allow him to move in our lives . Thy kingdom come thy will be done in Jesus name

And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes; But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back: Moreover the Lord shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.
    1 Kings 14:8‭-‬9‭, ‬14

  8. “He will give up Israel because of the sins of Jeroboam which he has committed, and with which he has made Israel sin [by leading them into idolatry].””
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭14:16‬ ‭AMP‬‬

You never who is watching you and are influenced by your actions.

“And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, and walked in the way of his father, and in his sin by which he had made Israel sin.”
    ‭‭I Kings‬ ‭15:26‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Let your actions be influenced by Christ.

  9. 22 And Judah did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.

23 For they also built them high places, and images, and groves, on every high hill, and under every green tree.

24 And there were also sodomites in the land: and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord cast out before the children of Israel.

It is sad to see the nation of God sinning so much. Nothing starts abruptly, everything happens little by little, and when you open your eyes again you are so far away from God that you can’t find your way back. Just like you got yourself so deep in sin, the same way you start como mg back. Is easy, first, you repent from your heart. Then, remember n as fast as you can to the altar. Finally, if you haven’t yet, get baptized in Jesus Name. If you haven’t yet GET THE HOLY GHOST, with the evidence of speaking with other tongues. Once you are back NEVER EVER DEPART FROM HIS SIDE!!!
All that Israel had to do was turned, destroy all idols, and place God as number one in their lives. One of the biggest mistakes both kings did was to marry out of their tribe. Women have the power of influencing man to the good or to the bad. Please remember this when you are married and try always to influence to the good. In Jesus Name Amen

  10. 26 And he took away the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king’s house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

I see this as a typology of the New Testament, which states that the Lord will not always strive with man. The good gifts the Lord provided where removed due to ingratitude and disobedience.

  11. 1 Kings 14 The tail of two kings and Judgement

Jeroboam King of ten tribes and Rehoboam the king of Juda and Benjamin found guilty of leading the tribes in Idolatry. They were found guilty by God and they died.

It seems as if we as a nation must learn from their mistakes. The wages of sin is death. God here judged two kings but Jesus is separating the sheep from the goats.
The Last gathering of the final harvest is beginning through out the world.
We as a people of this nation must choose whom we shall serve. This is in preparation for the world and the antichrist and false prophet. Be aware of the times and seasons we are in. Draw closer to Jesus that He may lead us in all righteousness. Praise you Lord Jesus.

  12. 4 And Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. But Ahijah could not see; for his eyes were set by reason of his age.
5 And the Lord said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.

There’s an old saying that says what’s done in the dark will come to the light. Everything that people think they are doing behind the scenes will eventually be made where from those which they are hiding. God has no problem searching the inner darkness of a man’s heart and bringing light to it for the sake of his own soul while some things are to be kept in private other things for certain people, deception is never the way. Abraham learned that the hard way when he traveled through Egypt. Everyone may not need to know your business but there is still no reason for deception to get your way.

  13. 7 Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,
    8 And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;
9 But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:

You can’t fool God. Most of all He wants relationship with us, and if we can’t do that, then we fail at our end of the relationship making us unworthy of His favor. Thankfully there is grace, but only for those who desire it and desire God. We all have a choice – I choose to serve the God who gave His life for me! How could I not praise His great name!

  14. “And all Israel shall mourn for him, and bury him: for he only of Jeroboam shall come to the grave, because in him there is found some good thing toward the Lord God of Israel in the house of Jeroboam.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭14:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus allowed the child to die not out of anger, but out of love. We don’t always understand the ways of God. They are not always happy and joyful things. In this instance all of Israel is going to mourn the child. We can’t see God’s whole picture. Our vision of kings hat God is doing is so small that we often lack basic understanding. When things arise we just have to know that he is good. He is God. His mercy endures forever. His ways are not our ways. His thought are not our thoughts. He has a purpose, even when we don’t understand.

  15. Sis Bower made a statement, self will over Gods will. This can be a Heaven or hell issue in my way of thinking. God gives us everything we need and some wants to live his way. He ask us to share his way with others. This is in our best interest. So pretty much open and shut case.

  16. For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord , and he pondereth all his goings.
    Proverbs 5:21 KJV

    https://bible.com/bible/1/pro.5.21.KJV

I was curious in the last chapter why Good would raise someone up that was just going to serve pagan idols. Here we are that nothing is done outside the Lord’s sight. He sees all and will judge accordingly.

  17. 2 And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people.

3 And take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he shall tell thee what shall become of the child.

Jeroboam knew where to go to get answers from the Lord, yet wanted his wife to disguise herself to not be known among the people where she was going. The news she received I’m sure as a mother was devastating to her, the loss of her child.

As parents our actions will far live on past our days. Jeroboam had taken the kingdship he had been given, and totally turned those he led away from the ways that David had taught them. They brought idols into their lives and disobeyed the commands of David. The consequences were not only did his child die, but the kingdom was taken from him, and given to another.

When we step out of the will of God for our lives, there are consequences that not only we pay, but those that we led into disobedience will pay the price as well. When sin lies at the door, and we open that door into our lives, the cost is great. Many times I am reminded of the message Bro. Tallent preached “The High Cost of a Bad Decision.”

We must consider well decision that we make because not only does it effect us, but those we lead, and those that follow after us.

  18. 4 And Jeroboam’s wife did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah.
6 And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with heavy tidings.
7 Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith the LordGod of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,
    8 And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;
9 But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back.

We service a God of mercy and grace but we also service a God of righteousness. If we say we live the Lord and don’t keep his commandments and our words mean nothing. Obedience is better than sacrifice.

  19. 14:6 and it was so, when Ahiha heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said: come
In thou white of Jeroboam , why feignest thou thyself
To be another? Fort I am sent to the word heavy tithings.

Yes the Lord knows all things and he knows what’s done behind walls, he can reveal
Anything that he wants According to his will to those he chooses.
    What a scenery!!!
In this case God moved through the Prophet.

  20. When God sees sin he takes these things and turn them on it’s head, so people can take from this experience and then to something greater than sin.

  21. 5And the Lord said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman .

  22. 1 Kings 14: 9-23-24 But hast done evil above all that were before thee ; for thou hast gone and made thee other gods and molten images, to provoke me anger, and hast cast me behind thy back.
14:22 ] And Judah did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.
23] For they also built them high places, and images, and groves , on every high hill, and under every green tree.
Luke 4: 8 And Jesus answered and said until him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written , Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God and him only shalt thou serve.
For I choose the Lord commands, he die on the cross for my sins.
    He gave me life.
Thank you Jesus for the Blood.

JESUS BRINGS THE HIDDEN TO LIGHT

5 And the Lord said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.
6 And it was so, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she came in at the door, that he said, Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam; why feignest thou thyself to be another? for I am sent to thee with heavy tidings.

There is much in this chapter, from the spirit of deception to the spirit of Mercy. Mercy is granted to the sick child in that the Lord chose him to be taken at a young age to spare him the pain of judgement that would be upon his fathers reign. We also witness the displeasure of JESUS demonstrated toward idolatry and how idolatry leaves the things and people of GOD unprotected.

But, what I believe to be the most important message in this chapter is the revelation of deception. When the wife of the idolatrous king attempted to despise herself to the blind prophet, in their plot the forgot or failed to acknowledge that JESUS speaks to the heart of HIS servants and physical vision is not a requirement to hear from the LORD.

Don’t play games with GOD. We cannot hide anything from HIM or HIS servant that HE chooses to reveal it to. Whatever we may be doing, JESUS BRINGS the HIDDEN TO LIGHT.

  24. I Kings 14:26,27 And he took away the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the King’s house; he even took away all: and he took away all the shields of gold which Solomon had made. And King Rehoboam made in their stead brazen shields, and committed them unto the hands of the chief of the guard, which kept the door the king’s house.

Only Rehoboam’s repentance saved Jerusalem and Judah from full extinction at that time
    2 Chronicles 12:6-12(they were humble).

  25. 1 Kings 14:4-6 (AMP)
    4) Jeroboam’s wife did so. She got up and went (twenty miles) to Shiloh, and came to the house of Ahijah. Now Ahijah could not see, because his eyes were dim from old age.
    5) And the LORD said to Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam is coming to inquire of you about her son, because he is sick. You shall say such and such to her, for when she arrives, she will pretend to be another woman.
    6) So when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet as she came in the doorway, he said, Come in, wife of Jeroboam. Why do you pretend to be another woman? For I have been sent to you (by God) with a harsh message.

    My thought is…
Have you ever sat in church, and Pastor or another minister is preaching, and they seem to know things about you? Like their preaching right at you? (It’s almost like they’ve followed you around and watched you or heard what you said, etc…) Well, let me tell you why that is. It’s because GOD HAS TALKED TO THEM and given them the WORDS to speak. You see, you may think you can disguise yourself before the Man of God, but GOD SPEAKS TO HIM. And when GOD SPEAKS, it may seem harsh. He may rebuke us and correct us.
But be Thankful that GOD SPEAKS TO THEM and rebukes and corrects us, so that we can stay on the right path to God.

  26. 1 Kings 14:16
He will abandon Israel because Jeroboam sinned and made Israel sin along with him.

Be careful who you surround yourself with so you don’t fall into sin

  27. 16 He will abandon Israel because Jeroboam sinned and made Israel sin along with him.
    1 Kings 14:16 NLT

Many people now days are surrounded by the enemy, and the enemy will try and use them to get under us and try to influence us and tell us wrong. We have to make sure that we are surrounding ourselves by people who are filled with the wisdom of the Lord, those who live for him and are faithful unto him all. As the children of the Lord let us be an influencer, let us be the kind of people those in this world look up to. Reflect the light the Lord is shining on you into them, preach the word of God unto them, show them the strength of the Lord and peace and joy. Prove to them that whatever they may be going through that can overcome it and they aren’t alone.

  28. Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith the LordGod of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,

    8 And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;

9 But hast done evil above all that were before thee: for thou hast gone and made thee other gods, and molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast me behind thy back:

10 Therefore, behold, I will bring evil upon the house of Jeroboam, and will cut off from Jeroboam him that pisseth against the wall, and him that is shut up and left in Israel, and will take away the remnant of the house of Jeroboam, as a man taketh away dung, till it be all gone.

Just because we do well in our lives in our business or work or ministry dose not mean we should stop living for God or doing that which is right for the king did not do what was right and his kingdom was taken let us always remember to do what is right.

  29. ““In addition, the Lord will raise up a king over Israel who will destroy the family of Jeroboam. This will happen today, even now!”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭14:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/1ki.14.14.nlt

God will not hesitate to replace us with someone who will chase and honor his heart. We neeed to work for his kingdom and stay.Let us not be like jeroboam falling apart from God’s kingdom and will.

  30. “During Rehoboam’s reign, the people of Judah did what was evil in the Lord’s sight, provoking his anger with their sin, for it was even worse than that of their ancestors. For they also built for themselves pagan shrines and set up sacred pillars and Asherah poles on every high hill and under every green tree.”
    1 Kings 14:22-23 NLT

Every day that you live, give your time, and talent all to Jesus. Make up in your mind that We are going to seek first Jesus and be submitted to His will. Let not our desire seek after worldly pleasure and our will for the things of this world. The desires of our flesh will all fade away. God will judge righteously both the righteous and the wicked. You can’t serve both; either Jesus or satan. You will love one and hate the other. Stay in the word of God and give our all to Jesus for there is nothing better than Jesus Christ our Savior.

  31. 14 Moreover the Lord shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.

God will appoint whom he will to lead his people. God knows who to put in place that will lead according to his will. This is why it’s important to not talk about who God has set in place. When you talk against them it’s like talking against God because he set them in place. Learning to listen more than you speak, it a very useful characteristic to have.

  32. 22 And Judah did evil in the sight of the Lord, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.

Judah means praise and this tribe had God “jealous”, jealous because God doesn’t desire for His people to praise any other God before Him. He desires to be first in their lives and in our lives today. Let us examine our life and ensure we are not making God jealous.

  33. “” ‘Because of that, I am going to bring horrible trouble on your royal house. I will cut off from you every male in Israel. It does not matter whether they are slaves or free. I will burn up your royal house, just as someone burns up trash. I will burn it until it is all gone.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭14:10‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Here is another example of the power of ones choice. At the time we make think our decision affects ourselves but the truth is it affects everyone around us. The choice of one man caused his house trouble.

  34. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
1Ki 14:5 And the LORD said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.

We can hide nothing from the Lord. The Lord sees and hears everything we do and speak in private. The Lord also reveals to the man of God hidden plots and secret agendas. We must go through this life and forsake the hidden secret life styles of the pagans and live a consecrated life of the righteous.

  35. 14 Moreover the Lord shall raise him up a king over Israel, who shall cut off the house of Jeroboam that day: but what? even now.

God has placed people in our lives over us for the good of us. We can not push away the good people in our lives cause God put them there for a reason. Any and everything that’s has happened to us, has happened for a reason. We must know and realize that we please Him! I pray tonight that we are all putting God first before all of our needs and desires cause he is worthy of it all!!!

  36. 2 And Jeroboam said to his wife, Arise, I pray thee, and disguise thyself, that thou be not known to be the wife of Jeroboam; and get thee to Shiloh: behold, there is Ahijah the prophet, which told me that I should be king over this people.

3 And take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a cruse of honey, and go to him: he shall tell thee what shall become of the child.

You would think that after seeing how the word from the man of God came to pass over his life then he Jeroboam would take heed to all that pertains to the Lord. Instead, we see the great judgement over the house of Jeroboam. Why? Becuase he departed from Gods ways, gave himself go idolatry and caused Israel go sin. Just like the word of God about him becoming king came to pass…the same way the other word with judgement.

  37. Verse 6 MSG “Ahijah heard her come through the door and said, “Welcome, wife of Jeroboam! But why the deception? I’ve got bad news for you.” There is no room for deception and/or lies in your walk as we LIVE-GIVE JESUS for Psalm 101:7 AMP says “Psalm 101:7 “He who practices deceit will not dwell in my house; He who tells lies and half-truths will not continue [to remain] in my presence.”

  38. 5 And the Lord said unto Ahijah, Behold, the wife of Jeroboam cometh to ask a thing of thee for her son; for he is sick: thus and thus shalt thou say unto her: for it shall be, when she cometh in, that she shall feign herself to be another woman.

Nothing goes unnoticed!!! My GOD IS FAITHFUL!!!

  39. 7 Go, tell Jeroboam, Thus saith the LordGod of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee from among the people, and made thee prince over my people Israel,

    8 And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;

11 Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city shall the dogs eat; and him that dieth in the field shall the fowls of the air eat: for the Lord hath spoken it.

God had used Jeroboam to lead his people, but Jeroboam never did he wouldn’t listen to Gods commandments. God was merciful enough to let him try to lead for twenty two years and Jeroboam never got one step closer to God. Instead God says enough is enough, so he sends Jeroboams wife home and kills the son of Jeroboam and clean the line of Jeroboam out. God is so merciful to let him to continue even though he knows he isn’t getting anywhere God just wants to see if you will choose a different path to see if we will take a leap and choose to follow God. I thank God that he is merciful on me and loves me unconditionally. I pray that he uses me In ways I couldn’t think of. I pray he uses the church to bring as many souls to Christ before it is to late.

  40. “Give your husband, Jeroboam, this message from the Lord, the God of Israel: ‘I promoted you from the ranks of the common people and made you ruler over my people Israel. I ripped the kingdom away from the family of David and gave it to you. But you have not been like my servant David, who obeyed my commands and followed me with all his heart and always did whatever I wanted. You have done more evil than all who lived before you. You have made other gods for yourself and have made me furious with your gold calves. And since you have turned your back on me, I will bring disaster on your dynasty and will destroy every one of your male descendants, slave and free alike, anywhere in Israel. I will burn up your royal dynasty as one burns up trash until it is all gone. The members of Jeroboam’s family who die in the city will be eaten by dogs, and those who die in the field will be eaten by vultures. I, the Lord, have spoken.’””
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭14:7-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Jeroboam could have had a lasting dynasty, but he wasted the promise of God with his unbelief, idolatry, and outright rejection of God.

  41. Reading this chapter I can’t help but reflect on life. The hard times although not alway enjoyable it is always for a reason.

The harsh messages of our times mold us for the next season. The next challenge.

It isn’t always happy messages Living Jesus but it always worth it!

  42. I Kings Chapter 14

Another time in the history of the Children of Israel that I do not understand why they would fall back into sin. This roller coaster back and forth of doing wrong and then right. Wrong again and then repenting and going back to being, why do we as humans not learn from our mistakes. Lord, I pray that I can teach my children not to make the same mistakes I did. Lord, I pray that I can teach my children not to make the same mistakes my father made.

  43. Amazing grace

    8 And rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it thee: and yet thou hast not been as my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me with all his heart, to do that only which was right in mine eyes;

David as we know was not perfect but far from it but David knew how to repent and admit his cults to God. David never made the same mistake twice although he had plenty of mistakes to repent of. When David repented, it was done. This is what made him a man after Gods heart. David new he wasn’t perfect but he kept putting his feet on the ground every morning and trying his best and God knew it was his best. Here we see the messenger not mention any of David’s failure but only his great worth to God. God is not searching for the perfect, he seeks the real ones.

  44. 4So Jeroboam’s wife went to Ahijah’s home at Shiloh. He was an old man now and could no longer see. 5But the LORD had told Ahijah, “Jeroboam’s wife will come here, pretending to be someone else. She will ask you about her son, for he is very sick. Give her the answer I give you.”

Be careful, the deceiver is always on the prowl. With God on your side, you’ll be made aware if anyone is up to no good. There will be those, who say, “trust me”, but God will reveal there true objective. Pray, and let God be your guardian.

  45. “All Israel will mourn for him and bury him. He is the only member of your family who will have a proper burial, for this child is the only good thing that the Lord, the God of Israel, sees in the entire family of Jeroboam.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭14:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

You could take a look around and it probably wouldn’t take long to find a group or a family that seems to be up to nothing but bad things. Maybe think they mean no good for anyone, but God could easily see the good in the bad. Look around at your fellow brothers and sister in Christ and look where God has brought them.
