2 Chronicles 11

And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.

But the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,

Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.

He built even Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,

And Bethzur, and Shoco, and Adullam,

And Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,

And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,

10 And Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.

11 And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.

12 And in every several city he put shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.

13 And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.

14 For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest’s office unto the Lord:

15 And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.

16 And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the Lord God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the Lord God of their fathers.

17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.

18 And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;

19 Which bare him children; Jeush, and Shamariah, and Zaham.

20 And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.

21 And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)

22 And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.

23 And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.

  1. 2 Chron.11: 2-3-4 But the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah all the man of God, saying .
[3] Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Soloman, king of Judah, and Benjamin, saying .
[4] Thus saith the Lord , Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren, return every man to his house; for this thing is done of me, and they obeyed the words of the lord , and returned from going against Jeroboam.
Rehoboam was well equipped with one hundred and four score thousand of chosen men ( warriors) to fight against each other.
Dont fight with your brother or sister , Be in unity together and pray for one another.
1 Timothy 6: 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, where unto thoy art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

  2. 4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

Rehoboam was going to fight with his brethren but the Lord stepped in. It was an act of obedience to listen as it was not something Rehoboam did often. But he listened to the man of God and obeyed. We often think that we can conquer the world on our own merit. But in the end if we do not do things n the right intentions, then failure usually comes and it is disasterous for us. We often get to much in a hurry to make our point and not heed the voice of God.

In this time we are living in we have to be able to listen and hear God’s voice and make sure we do his will not ours. We can not afford the opportunity to slip away to make an impact for the kingdom of God. It is all about the end time revival the outpouring of the spirit of God. Live Jesus to give Jesus to others. No matter how hard it is to suppress our will so that God’s will can be done to be able to save those that need Jesus. That is our mission and commission from God.

  3. 16 And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the Lord God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the Lord God of their fathers.

Unity in the Church and between the Churches will safeguard the dogmas of faith from flase doctrines. It is important to train up the youth to be grounded in the Word and to understand the view point of opposing doctines to guard their mind from deception.

  4. 15. Jeroboam appointed his own priests to serve at the pagan shrines, where they worshiped the goat and calf idols he had made.

    16. From all the tribes of Israel, those who sincerely wanted to worship the LORD, the God of Israel, followed the Levites to Jerusalem, where they could offer sacrifices to the LORD, the God of their ancestors. NLT

No matter what the world is doing or who they are following, we must continue to follow faithful men that will lead us in worshiping and obeying the true, living God.

  5. 3 Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

God has a way of doing things that we are not going to understand sometimes it would almost even seem counterproductive but he sees the end from the beginning. God knew exactly what jeroboam was going to do and while they did not only separate from the Israelites and serve other gods, the Lord refuse to put his people to fight against his people. Above most things God is calling us for unity. Even if one side is wrong God would rather us at least be at peace and allow him to deal with those that are rebellious

    • So true Tristan. Unity the word has I in the middle but without the U at the beginning it would just be I standing alone . The Word Unit also cannot be singular a unit of measure consists of quantity .
Where there are two or three gathered together . Unity is so important and yet we make it so difficult at times .
Thankful for the family of God.

  6. 4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord and returned from going against

Rehoboam had not listened to wise counsel before but he did this time. There was constant strife between the two kingdoms, but an all-out war was avoided.

  7. II Chronicles 11
16 .Everyone from all the tribes of Israel who determined to seek the God of Israel migrated with the priests and Levites to Jerusalem to worship there, sacrificing to the God of their ancestors.

There was a sincere determination to worship the true God. From all tribes of Israel those who were determined. There has been a lot of distractions recently pandemics , politics. weather and it all focuses on survival but what about our spiritual survival. The first thing I see on my phone this morning is the announcement of the longevity now of life is lessoned. Just another distraction. Spiritual survival made the Israelites who wanted to worship the true God leave where they had been living.
We must stay determined that nothing can keep us from worshiping Jesus Christ. I’ve learned a lot the last few days some has sickened my spirit I’ve seen that sin and seediness continues no matter the situation . I’ve learned that some of the poorest give the most which has strengthened me to be more determined in what I hold dear to my heart. True worship to Jesus Christ no matter what is going on. Am I truly Living Jesus and Am I truly Giving Jesus in my worship or is it a mere facade ? Will I seek the comforts of going along with everyone else or will I truly worship God with a sincere determination? I pray the latter .

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one receives the prize? So run that you may obtain it. Every athlete exercises self-control in all things. They do it to receive a perishable wreath, but we an imperishable. So I do not run aimlessly; I do not box as one beating the air. But I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.

Help me to stay in this race daily for Your glory not mine !

  8. “‘Thus says the LORD: “You shall not go up or fight against your brethren! Let every man return to his house, for this thing is from Me.” ’ ” Therefore they obeyed the words of the LORD, and turned back from attacking Jeroboam.”
    ‭‭II Chronicles‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Rehoboam heard a word from a man of God. This time he listened and obeyed. God’s people should not be fighting against each other. We should be united to be doing God’s will.

  9. 4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

5 And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defence in Judah.

Rehoboam listened and obeyed the voice of the Lord to put down their weapons and hold their peace for the battle was the Lord’s. The Lord blessed him abundantly according to his obedience. The lesson is: it is better to seek permission than to seek forgiveness. Many times we try to take on situations before we even consult God about or seek guidance from our Pastor, who has authority over us.

  10. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
2Ch 11:17 So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.

For three years he did what was good and right. Even in verse :4 he listened to the prophet and did not attack the other 10 tribes of Israel. For three years he was blessed and was fruitful and multiplied. For 3 years God was happy with him and helped him build and fortify the Kingdom. But something happened in the 4th year…it was sin, pride, and self will and this cost Rehoboam. The same is true with us today. It’s great we start off good but we must finish this race strong!

  11. I love POFW! As several notes before me were in agreement that listening to Gods instruction made some strife and worry go away. God did not create us to be problem children. He made us and gave us the word to live by. Live Jesus and less strife and worries, Give Jesus and create less strife and worries for your brother/sister. That’s a WOW and a WIN!

  12. Verse 4 AMP “‘Thus says the Lord: “You shall not go up nor fight against your brothers (countrymen); return, every man to his house, for this thing is from Me.”’” And they listened to and obeyed the words of the Lord and turned back from going against Jeroboam.” Rehoboam listened to and obeyed the words of the Lord this time. By doing this (simple obedience), Rehoboam now fortifies/strengthens and secures not only his kingdom, the cities; but, also grows his family.

Deuteronomy 28:1-6 NLT is captioned “Blessings for Obedience” and it says “If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully keep all his commands that I am giving you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations of the world. You will experience all these blessings if you obey the Lord your God:

    Your towns and your fields
    will be blessed.
    Your children and your crops
    will be blessed.
The offspring of your herds and flocks
    will be blessed.
    Your fruit baskets and breadboards
    will be blessed.
Wherever you go and whatever you do,
    you will be blessed.

  13. 2 Chronicles 11:14 & 16 & 17
    14) The Levites even abandoned their pasturelands and property and came to Jerusalem, because Jeroboam and his sons had rejected them as priests of the LORD.
    16) Those from every tribe of Israel who set their hearts on seeking the LORD, the God of Israel, followed the Levites to Jerusalem to offer sacrifices to the LORD, the God of their ancestors.
    17) They strengthened the kingdom of Judah…

    “Follow The Leader”
Paul said in 1 Corinthians 11:1, “Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.”
If we truly set our hearts on seeking the Lord and want to offer sacrifices (of Praise and Worship) to Him, we will “Follow The Leader,” Pastor Watts, as he “Follows JESUS Christ.” And TOGETHER, we can Strengthen God’s Kingdom!

  14. 4‘This is what the LORD says: Do not fight against your relatives. Go back home, for what has happened is my doing!’” So they obeyed the message of the LORD and did not fight against Jeroboam.

Yes, there will be disagreements with relatives, friends and coworkers. But learn how to forgive one another, and keep that relationship going. Don’t hold a grudge against a relative, and don’t let pride interfere. Forgive and love one another.

  15. 4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

They obeyed but did not trust Israel for they went and built themself fortified cities to live under protection. Jeroboam committed so many sins of idolatry that I can see how you want and need to keep separate and protected from the influence of sin. Separate and Holy to God!!! Today we all face the same dilemma it is hard to go, reach, and convert; when the world is so polluted with sin that you get concern if something may affect you and your family. It is hard to put all your energy in raising a child in the truth to watch them later depart from it by the influence of this world. I pray daily for our prodigals for I have one close to my heart that I raise and see him as my son, he knows the truth and I claim in Jesus Name he will return to it and live to serve the Lord Jesus Christ Alone!!! There will be no greater joy here on Earth except the Day that my Savior Jesus returns for us.

  16. Thank you Jesus Christ for today , thy kingdom come thy will be done . Let us continue walking in integrity it doesn’t matter what the world thinks . People will fail you but God never will

For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest’s office unto the Lord : And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made. So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
    2 Chronicles 11:14‭-‬17

  17. 11:23 and he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all of his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamín, unto every fenced city: and he gave them virtual in abundance. And he desired many wives.
    —-
… well, it says that he dealt wisely…
Yet later he and all Isrrael rebelled against God again….
It’s a sad thing when we know what to do and choose not to.
To him that knows to do good and don’t do it
    To him is sin.
What good is it to know what to do next ( to be led by the Holy Spirit)and choose
To do what the flesh wants instead?

  18. 2 But the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
3 Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

God will always speak to his people, it is up to us to listen and to be obedient.

  19. 13 And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.
14 For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest’s office unto the Lord:

They left their homes and their comforts and went to Jerusalem so they could continue to follow the Lord God. We must also continue to follow the Lord and stay in this truth, even if we are persecuted and have to leave the comforts we know. No matter what may come, we must continue to follow truth and the man of God in our lives.

  20. “‘Thus says the LORD: “You shall not go up nor fight against your brothers (countrymen); return, every man to his house, for this thing is from Me.” ’ ” And they listened to and obeyed the words of the LORD and turned back from going against Jeroboam.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

The lord has a way of speaking to us but will we be obedient and listen to his words. A lot of the times we ask him for guidance and he gives it to us but we don’t want to listen because it isn’t the words we wanted to hear. The lord knows all. There is a reason behind his words. Sometimes we may not understand but we should always listen to his voice because he would never lead us astray. The Bible says he would never leave us nor forsake us. I pray that we begin to have a spirit of obedience and surrender to his voice no matter the circumstances because in the end we will reap the blessings of him when we listen to his voice.

  21. The Lord established Jeroboam and set a work for him to do. So when someone who saw him as an enemy wanted to wage war the Lord intervened.

If God has given you a Word and a mission there is no man worthy of fearing. God will take every measure to see it through and protect you. God is the Lover of our souls and our Protector in times of need.

    Psalms 118:6

“The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?”

  22. 11 And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.

12 And in every several city he put shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.

Rehoboam equipped those that he put in a place of authority so that they would have what they needed to thrive, not just survive.

Are we equipping those we lead to do the same? We don’t want people to just survive by the skin of their teeth, but we want to place in their hands the tools necessary to help them become mighty men and women of the Spirit. The best way to equip them is to not only give them tools, but show them by example day after day how to use those tools.

At POFW we diligent put forth effort to help people that are born into the Kingdom of God through water and spirit to become established with the tools necessary to thrive. Keep building, keep growing, keep equipping and let’s build a mighty army of men and women willing to following the Vision for this region and grow a great church.

  23. The Levites even abandoned their pasturelands and property and moved to Judah and Jerusalem, because Jeroboam and his sons would not allow them to serve the Lord as priests. Jeroboam appointed his own priests to serve at the pagan shrines, where they worshiped the goat and calf idols he had made. From all the tribes of Israel, those who sincerely wanted to worship the Lord , the God of Israel, followed the Levites to Jerusalem, where they could offer sacrifices to the Lord , the God of their ancestors. This strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and for three years they supported Rehoboam son of Solomon, for during those years they faithfully followed in the footsteps of David and Solomon.
    2 Chronicles 11:14‭-‬17 NLT

We all have a choice of which master we will serve. It may cost you to leave some things behind, even your home and family, but the reward is so much greater. The power of prayer to later see the favor of home and family returning is so much greater. God will always show His favor to those who are faithful. Stay faithful and fight the good fight!

  24. 2 Chronicles 11:4
This is what the lord says: Do not fight against your relatives. Go back home, for what has happened is my doing!’” So they obeyed the message of the lord and did not fight against Jeroboam.

We should always obey the word of God

  25. 2 Chronicles 11:4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

Genesis 13:8 And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren.

    Obedience and Unity

  26. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
ITS NOT MY BROTHER: ITS ME

4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

Often in times of conflict especially with those we love and have a family type relationship. Whether united by the blood of man or The Precious Blood of JESUS we are considered family.

When we feel wronged or violated, we seek to justify or redeem ourselves, usually resulting in an attack on a family member and their character, physical being or resources.

JESUS often uses those closest to us to bring the greatest amount of pressure on us to mold, correct or even judge us for our own iniquities. The LORD reveals in this chapter that every conflict or battle is not for us to fight. This makes our choices so important. Obedience to the WORD of GOD is imperative, to our growth and advancement in HIS Kingdom.

Lets take this approach today, if you have ought against someone or feel like attacking someone in any form; physical or verbal. Ask JESUS for direction. If you attack and JESUS is at work in the situation, then you will lose. I found Romans 8:28 always wins and I need not attack, only defend through prayer and the WORD of GOD.

ITS NOT MY BROTHER: ITS ME that needs correction, instruction and direction.

  27. “From all the tribes of Israel, those who sincerely wanted to worship the Lord, the God of Israel, followed the Levites to Jerusalem, where they could offer sacrifices to the Lord, the God of their ancestors.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭11:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I pray we are sincere in our worship. Despite whatever comes our way, I pray we choose to worship. Even if the leaders of our country go another way, I pray we choose to worship. Even if laws are stacked against us to try and destroy what we believe, I pray we choose to worship.

  28. “Rehoboam married his cousin Mahalath, the daughter of David’s son Jerimoth and of Abihail, the daughter of Eliab son of Jesse. Mahalath had three sons—Jeush, Shemariah, and Zaham. Later Rehoboam married another cousin, Maacah, the granddaughter of Absalom. Maacah gave birth to Abijah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelomith. Rehoboam loved Maacah more than any of his other wives and concubines. In all, he had eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and they gave birth to twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters. Rehoboam appointed Maacah’s son Abijah as leader among the princes, making it clear that he would be the next king. Rehoboam also wisely gave responsibilities to his other sons and stationed some of them in the fortified towns throughout the land of Judah and Benjamin. He provided them with generous provisions, and he found many wives for them.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭11:18-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Rehoboam obviously did not learn from his father Solomon’s error. Though he had far fewer wives and concubines , he still had a heart that broke the command of Deuteronomy 17:17.

    Deuteronomy 17:17 Voice
This king must not have many wives. If he takes foreign wives in marriage alliances, they could turn his heart away from the Lord and lead him to worship foreign gods. And the king must not accumulate great quantities of silver and gold for himself.

  29. 4 ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not fight against your relatives. Go back home, for what has happened is my doing!’” So they obeyed the message of the Lord and did not fight against Jeroboam.” NLT

Eph 6:12 comes to mind as I was reading the chapter today. “For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”

I believe that we all fight for different reasons. Pride, misunderstanding, and even anger. Fighting is natural and can be seen in all ages, even the youngest in the nursery they learn the word “mine” and will fight to keep it.

While living Jesus we are given the opportunity to place His will above our own. When faced with a fight, I would hope we would pray and obey to what the Lord would want us to do. Cause remember obedience is better than sacrifice.

  30. “Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against their brethern: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going agaisnt Jeroboam.” 2 Chronicles 11:4

Always obey the Lord, and do what He tells you to do. It is imperative that we do what is right! “Trust in the Lord forever, for the Rock eternal.” Isaiah 26:4

  31. 4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

Having peace between your brothers and sisters is important. Division can cause a lot of pain for a lot of people. This is why it is important essential to follow peace with all men. We cannot call ourselves representatives of God if we are fighting against family. God has called each and everyone of his children to fulfill his purpose. Let’s not get caught up in the things of this world, but let us get caught up in Jesus.

  32. “From all the tribes of Israel, those who sincerely wanted to worship the Lord, the God of Israel, followed the Levites to Jerusalem, where they could offer sacrifices to the Lord, the God of their ancestors.”
    2 Chronicles 11:16 NLT

Everyone that has a true desire to go worship the Lord Jesus Christ, got up and left to go to a place where they could give sacrifices to the Lord. Let us stop everything and go to a place of prayer and seek after God and give sacrifices of praise and worship to God. For He has been marvelous to us all. When we do this God honors our obedience. He will bless us, He will guard us and give us victory.

  33. 16 And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the Lord God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the Lord God of their fathers.

When we make our minds up to seek and serve Jesus, we will go to where He is, not seek a small piece of Him to come to us…

  34. In this chapter they we going to to go war but God told them not to. They simply listened and were rewarded. I hope that we are all listening to what God has to say. We might do something that we may think is okay in our eyes, but what is it like in His eyes? We have to really put into thought about what we are doing. We are supposed to share the love of Christ who saves us to others and ourselves. I pray tonight that we are all listening, following, and prepay the Word of God! Jesus loves you!!!

  35. 4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

The mother in me sounds just like this…”you will not go up and fight against your brother. All of you go to your rooms”

It just took the voice of God to bring control to a situation that would have been out of control even more than it was. Let us remember to listen and money His voice because it brings saftu and control. It will also be reinforced with chastisement if needed.

  36. 4 Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

God has it in control , he knows what he is doing. God stepped in because he knew there would be a lot of killing when it wasn’t necessary. Just like when we start heading the wrong way but God speaks to you and takes you another path, we don’t need to go through something bad if we are just obedient to Gods word/ voice.

  37. 2 But the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
3 Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,

My GOD HAS THE LAST WORD!!! HE IS FAITHFUL!!!

  38. “‘This is what the Lord says: Do not go up to fight against your fellow Israelites. Go home, every one of you, for this is my doing.’ ” So they obeyed the words of the Lord and turned back from marching against Jeroboam.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

It’s never God’s intention for us to have us fighting against our fellow brothers and sisters. He has his reasoning and his own timing, it’s best to just keep on moving forward knowing God’s will is being done.

As chosen church we need be the most sincere to the Lord at these tough times. We must offer sacrifice to the Lord to show our love and honor.

  40. 2 Chronicles Chapter 11

The tale of two kings Jeroboam and Rehoboam one was blessed by Jesus and the other encouraged evil in his nation of Israel. Choose this day who you will serve.
Jeroboam encouraged evil in his nation of Israel which were ten tribes. That nation will be called the lost tribes.

Rehoboam the king of Jerusalem of the tribe of Judah and Benjamin and he pleased Jesus and the nation prospered. When one finds Jesus you find life in Jesus both on earth as well as heaven. Do you not remember that When Jesus blood was applied you become children of the King Jesus and because of that you were adopted in to the family of God. Your address was changed and your whole life changed.

  41. 1 And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.

Rehobooam wanted to go against his brother, keeping his word intact and wanted his desires at the same time. But we so fast and why so quickly?? Why go though the country trying to prepare the cities and make them stronger than before??

21 And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)
22 And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.
23 And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.

He had so many wives an hour d to so many children. He tried to be sure his legacy lives on through the amount of children he had. Not only by abundance, but he also sent them out into all of the country. Ensuring his legacy to be continued throughout true land.

  42. 1 And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.

I would have loved to know how the Lord saw all this. First, there was a Kingdom divided, once a people whom the Lord was with. And the Lord loved them both. So how did the Lord really feel about all of this? He tried to bring the Kingdom again to himself. And God, all he had been asking was for a king to follow and be obedient to walk on his ways. He even promised them to bless them in the years in the Kingdom. Jesus is the only King of kings and Lord of lord’s and the Kingdom is his.

  43. ‘This is what the Lord says: Do not fight against your relatives. Go back home, for what has happened is my doing!’” So they obeyed the message of the Lord and did not fight against Jeroboam.
    2 Chronicles 11:4 NLT

Your relatives aren’t always your direct brothers and sisters, but it’s your brothers and sisters in the church. You are are one body and made up of people that might see the same things but in a different perspective. When you fight with them you’re breaking you and them away from the vision. You’re breaking yourselves from the body.

  44. “Thus saith the Lord, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the Lord, and returned from going against Jeroboam.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭11:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We don’t always understand, but obedience is what is asked. Obedience is better than sacrifice.
