2 Chronicles 12

And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

And it came to pass, that in the fifth year of king Rehoboam Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, because they had transgressed against the Lord,

With twelve hundred chariots, and threescore thousand horsemen: and the people were without number that came with him out of Egypt; the Lubims, the Sukkiims, and the Ethiopians.

And he took the fenced cities which pertained to Judah, and came to Jerusalem.

Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The Lord is righteous.

And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

Nevertheless they shall be his servants; that they may know my service, and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.

So Shishak king of Egypt came up against Jerusalem, and took away the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king’s house; he took all: he carried away also the shields of gold which Solomon had made.

10 Instead of which king Rehoboam made shields of brass, and committed them to the hands of the chief of the guard, that kept the entrance of the king’s house.

11 And when the king entered into the house of the Lord, the guard came and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.

12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.

13 So king Rehoboam strengthened himself in Jerusalem, and reigned: for Rehoboam was one and forty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned seventeen years in Jerusalem, the city which the Lord had chosen out of all the tribes of Israel, to put his name there. And his mother’s name was Naamah an Ammonitess.

14 And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.

15 Now the acts of Rehoboam, first and last, are they not written in the book of Shemaiah the prophet, and of Iddo the seer concerning genealogies? And there were wars between Rehoboam and Jeroboam continually.

16 And Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David: and Abijah his son reigned in his stead.

  1. 12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.

The key word here is humbled . The opposite of humility is pride. It appears that when mankind have pride, it is the quickist way to bring the wrath of God into their life.

  2. 1. And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

Problems come when we rely on our own strength and think we don’t need God’s help. God fights for those who serve Him. When we leave Him, we leave His strength and protection.

    Psalm 18:
    1. I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.

    2. The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

    3. I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

    21. For I have kept the ways of the Lord, and have not wickedly departed from my God.

    32. It is God that girdeth me with strength, and maketh my way perfect.

  3. “Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak. Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The Lord is righteous. And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭12:5-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We must put our ways aside and recognize GOD in all of our being. Aside from GOD we are nothing.

Your evil way of living hinders what The LORD JESUS desires to do in your life.

“For the eyes of the Lord are over the righteous, and his ears are open unto their prayers: but the face of the Lord is against them that do evil.”
    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭3:12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  4. 12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.

Sometimes getting right with God doesn’t take hours and hours of repentance and fasting. It doesn’t take weeping until you can’t see. Although these are wonderful ways to seek out the Lord during distress, sometimes it’s just about being humbled. Pride is one of the lead causes of sin. someone who is not willing to see things the way God sees them and would rather do it their own way. Humility is not thinking of yourself more or less nor is it thinking less of yourself, it it is simply seen yourself any other way than how God sees you. humility is a pathway that leads to God. Understanding your helplessness and powerless without him but knowing what you can do with Him

  5. The difference between Rehoboam and his grandfather David can be seen by comparing psalm 27:8 with verse 14. David attempt to find the Lord’s face. Rehoboam did not.

    Psalms‬ ‭27:8
“When thou saidst, Seek ye my face; my heart said unto thee, Thy face, Lord, will I seek.”

14 And he did evil because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.

  6. 6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The Lord is righteous.

7 And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

This is a great example of the mercies of God. His wrath will be poured out upon those that are wicked in his sight, but for those that will humble themselves before him, they are them that will receive mercy. I am reminded daily of the intent of the world and that is to remove God from everything that we know. When this land has sinned enough God will begin to pour out his wrath again just like sodom and Gomorrah and in Noah’s time. But we have to be reminded what 2 Chronicles tells us in chapter 7:

14If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

It’s time that America begin to listen to the word of God. It’s time for the church to be the voice of God in this turmoil state. Live Jesus to give Jesus.

  7. They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak. We can quickly apply this to our own lives. God taketh and giveth. He is our Father and he loves us and wants what’s best for us. Live Jesus, give Jesus…..I love POFW

  8. 11Chronicles 12
14 And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.

Proverbs 16:1 — “The preparations of the heart belong to man, but the answer of the tongue is from the LORD.”

God has given us the gift of choice. We must take the initiative to prepare ourself to serve Him. I’ve talked to many a people who make preparations for what they have become addicted to . They call call it their stuff . Well we have to have our stuff in order to prepare our hearts for God.
    1. A willingness to submit to a higher authority instead of self this would be God.
    2. Making the time daily
    3. . Bowing before God in prayer seeking His will which we find in the Word of God.
    4. Reading The Bible
    4. A Repentant Heart
    5. Humble Spirit to admit when we are wrong
    6. Sacrifices of Praise and Thanksgiving as we come before God
    7. An accountability to God ( for we are who we are when we are alone ) and no one else sees what we are doing
Had Rehoboam prepared his heart to seek God he could have developed a great kingdom that served the Lord with good and not evil .

Create in me a clean heart and renew in me a right spirit daily. As I make preparations to seek You with all my heart.

  9. “When GOD saw that they were humbly repentant, the word of GOD came to Shemaiah: “Because they are humble, I’ll not destroy them—I’ll give them a break; I won’t use Shishak to express my wrath against Jerusalem. What I will do, though, is make them Shishak’s subjects—they’ll learn the difference between serving me and serving human kings.””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭12:7-8‬ ‭MSG‬‬

God did not let them be destroyed by Shishak. Instead He let them become their servants. This way they would understand and appreciate that it is a privilege and a joy being God’s servant rather than man’s.

  10. 5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

When you go backwards in walking with the Lord and you don’t do his commandments you will find yourself in more problems then you had before you came to Jesus, But if you ask for forgiveness Jesus is always there to help you.

  11. Verse 6 AMP “Then the leaders of Israel and the king humbled themselves and said, “The Lord is righteous.” Rehoboam once again chose wisely and humbled himself before the Lord; but, as we read in verse 9 AMP “Nevertheless they will become his slaves, so that they may know [the difference between] My service and the service of the kingdoms of the countries.” Verse 12 AMP “When Rehoboam humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned away from him, so as not to destroy him completely; and also conditions were good in Judah,”. But, in verse 14 AMP we read where “He did evil because he did not set his heart to seek and worship and honor the Lord” and as a result we read in the end of verse 15 “There were wars between Rehoboam [of Judah] and Jeroboam [of Israel] continually”. We can see the difference between God’s service and the service of the kingdoms. Rehoboam though not totally destroyed was continually in battle and did not have the peace of God. No Jesus, No Peace…….Know Jesus, Know Peace.

Philippians 4:6-7 NLT says “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.”

  12. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
    Leadership 101
2Ch 12:1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the LORD, and all Israel with him.

The first few leadership principles we see here with the king is he started off good. In the prievous chapter, he had walked in the righteous ways of David and Solomon and God had strengthened him for doing so…then I reckon a little bit of pride and possibly unwise counsel from his friends (if he continued to listen to them like he did in the beginning) and BOOM now he is backslid.

One important thing to note is this, not only did Rehoboam backslide but all Israel followed him. This is why leadership have such large targets on them. The enemy knows if the leader falls he will catch many more following.

  13. 14 And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.

The heart and mind are connected and if you have not made up your mind to serve God, then any little distraction will pull you away to serve your own flesh. The parable of the sower demonstrates this so we must make up our minds to serve the Lord. A made up mind will carry us through many storms.

  14. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    INCOMPLETE CONVERSION

12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.

Verse 12 reveals how merciful our GOD is to us when we HUMBLE ourselves. The saw HOPE in the heart that will be tender and humble. However what we learn from this chapter is that HUMILITY is not REPENTANCE.

Humility is the first step to REPENTANCE, but REPENTANCE is to turn away from or to destroy evil and turn to GOD. Humility is the acknowledgement that we are in need of GOD who is higher than us. Repentance is to serve GOD who is higher than us.

We learn in this chapter that it is possible to be spared in a situation by HUMBLING ourselves, but one act of HUMILITY does not constitute or guarantee salvation. Just 2 verses later we witness the condition or state of Rehoboams soul.

14 And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.

Rehoboam humbled himself, but he did not repent and follow the LORD. We must honestly answer this question, did I humble myself to avoid judgement or did I repent to follow JESUS.

    LIVE JESUS is to REPENT
GIVE JESUS is to SERVE in HIS Kingdom

  15. 2 Chronicles Chapter 12

12 And when he (King Rehoboam) humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.

It is wonderful that Jesus grace is sufficient and is new every morning/ The above verse the king humbled himself and Gods wrath was turned aside. How we walk away from the hand of the Lord yet the Lord is ready to forgive us and place back on the right path again. We were all once Lost and now we are found. Praise you Jesus.

  16. 2 Chron. 12:11-12 And when the king entered into the house of the Lord , the guard came and fetched them , and fetched them, and brought them again into the guard chamber.
[12] And when he humbled himself , the wrath of the Lord turned from him , that he would not destroy him altogether; and also in Judah things went well.
Rehoboam did alot of evil, He wouldn’t humble himself before the Lord. And do right.
So the wrath of God turned from him.
I must get myself prepared daily to humbled by self for the presence of the Lord.
    Repentance brings respite.
    Its diffulity a heart condition!
    Praying and being humble.

  17. 7 And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

God is so merciful to us. His love for us exceeds anything this world can offer us. Although Israel turned away from God, and as they see danger coming their way. They humbled themselves before the Lord, knowing God is the only one who can save them. God’s great mercy grant them deliverance. How great is our God! Unfortunately, many are this way they live a sinful live and when darkness hits. They know God can deliver, and many truly repent but sadly others forget. Let us remain humble and faith to the Lord through the good and bad! Praise His Holy name!

  18. 1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

Even in the bible days, people got where they wanted to be in life, and they forget the God who blessed them get there. Rehoboam had established his kingdom, and then he forsook God.

It always baffles me how people pray and pray and believe for things and then when God blessed them, they take their gifting and talents to the world to use for their own benefit.

Everything in the word of God points to eternity and that is what our focus should be on. Does that mean we can’t have nice things? No, as long as they don’t become our god. God desires His people to be blessed and to prosper. He has made us the head and not the tail. We just can’t abuse those blessings and think that we no longer need the Blesser. When God shines His blessings upon our life, that is because we have found favor with Him, we don’t throw want to throw it in His face by forsaking Him because now we have what we have been believing for. Use what He gives us to bless Him and His Kingdom, and watch His favor in our lives grow!!!

  19. I 12:12 and when he humbled himself the wrath of the
Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether and also in Judah things went well.

Blessed be the name of the Lord.
    For his mercy Indian forever.
    Thank God for prophets.
Yes, this king has had his ups and downs, he has made mistakes and even rebelled against God.
But what does God want to see in someone?
That we may still be convicted and still have the need
    And acknowledgment to repent.
Him and his represented, God saw that. God looked at their heart and forgave them.
    God is good.
Sinned? Repent, let us Ask God to forgive us
And let us not go to that again.
    Hallelujah

  20. 1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

This is why it is so important that we chose a leader with Bible principles. I pray that an Apostolic candidate will rise to run for President. I pray that I will be alive to see our Nation return to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Unite the church and state.

Oh how great is your Mercy Lord!!!! All we have to do is humble ourselves and declared that Jesus is Lord God all mighty, and you are quick to forgive us!!!
2 Chronicles 7: 14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
That is all our Lord is waiting for!! Our repentance and He will heal this land and return it to what it used to be. A Nation based on His word. Oh Lord help us!!! In Jesus Name Amen

  21. And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

So many of us like to be high and mighty. But the lord can’t use high and mighty but he can use lose and meek the smallest of the smallest. When God was looking for a king. He found his king with the sheep he found his king as a cast way he wasn’t the strongest he wasn’t the fastest and wasn’t the mightiest. But looked down and saw that he humble. So God said let me use the humility and we will take down this giant that is rising up against our people. You want to be delivered you have to humble yourself before God and lay it all on the line and watch your giant fall.

  22. 2 Chronicles 12:7,12
[7]When the lord saw their change of heart, he gave this message to Shemaiah: “Since the people have humbled themselves, I will not completely destroy them and will soon give them some relief. I will not use Shishak to pour out my anger on Jerusalem.

[12]Because Rehoboam humbled himself, the lord’s anger was turned away, and he did not destroy him completely. There were still some good things in the land of Judah.

    2 Chronicles 7:14
Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land.

To humble yourself before God it means coming before Jesus in awe and reverence, despite of what people may think of you. It’s being willing to say, “I was wrong”. It’s the positioning of your heart to be open to His Word. It’s taking the focus off of yourself and focusing on what really matters – God!

    James 4:6-7,10
[6]And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud
but gives grace to the humble.”

[7]So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

[10]Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.

  23. 6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The Lord is righteous.

Humility leads to repentance. It is time that we humble ourselves and be an example of humility to this world so that all may come to repentance and know God. It’s time to reach the lost through any and all ways possible – being an example is a great day to day thing we can do as followers of Christ. Follow Him with your whole heart, walk in humility and lead by example.

  24. So King Shishak of Egypt came up and attacked Jerusalem. He ransacked the treasuries of the Lord ’s Temple and the royal palace; he stole everything, including all the gold shields Solomon had made.

I wonder why he does take his things?

  25. “But he was an evil king, for he did not seek the Lord with all his heart.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭12:14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

With all our heart, we have to seek the Lord with all our heart. Jesus isn’t asking for perfection. We’re human and He knows we will make mistakes and I pray that we know we will make mistakes. When mistakes are made we’ve learned from Reheboam that we need to humble ourselves before the Lord but it doesn’t stop there. We have to diligently seek the Lord, not just say I’m sorry and turn a blind eye. God is our Help, He’s our Counselor, He’s our friend and we can go to Him anytime. I pray we are not discouraged by our mistakes but rather encourages because we know what a mighty God we serve

  26. 2 Chronicles 12:14, “And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek God.”

I read in one commentary that said, “To have a prepared heart means to have a fixed resolution.” Resolution means intention, purpose, plan, commitment, etc…
In other words, Rehoboam did not prepare his heart to seek God because he was not intent on, did not purpose to, did not plan to, did not commit to seeking God.
    BUT
When we are intent on, purpose to, plan to, commit to seeking God, we prepare our hearts. We prepare our heart and seek God through Prayer, Reading His Word, Fasting, etc…

  27. “When the Lord saw their change of heart, he gave this message to Shemaiah: “Since the people have humbled themselves, I will not completely destroy them and will soon give them some relief. I will not use Shishak to pour out my anger on Jerusalem.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭12:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We can say one thing and even act a certain way but it’s not till our heart has changed!

  28. “And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance, and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.”
    2 Chronicles 12:7

“Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart.” Psalm 73:1

Gods goodness is for those that are pure in heart. God has always loved Israel and has always been q forgiving Lord.

  29. 6 Whereupon the princes of Israel and the king humbled themselves; and they said, The Lord is righteous.

There is coming a day where every being will proclaim that Jesus is alive and well, and by the way things are looking it seems like that day is getting closer and closer each and every day. So must make ourselves ready for that day so that way we can help others be ready for it too.

  30. in this chapter I Learned In the begin these people A banded their City and they a bandon GodBecause the Army came with 112 chariots 3,000 horsemen and they said you abandon God. -Zion

You can say one thing but if your heart is not saying the same thing your words are void. When we come to god and our heart is not in it we are not truly in it then we are just speaking. when we have a change of heart that our words then mean something. It has got to be in your heart not just your mouth.

  32. 12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.

Our God is a merciful God. His mercies are everlasting. As the children of God, we must not get caught up in the things of this world. Our duty is to do God’s will. He will always guide us as long as we follow his word. Truly there is no God like our God.

  33. “But when Rehoboam was firmly established and strong, he abandoned the Law of the Lord, and all Israel followed him in this sin. Because they were unfaithful to the Lord, King Shishak of Egypt came up and attacked Jerusalem in the fifth year of King Rehoboam’s reign.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What you do can affect other people in your life. Rehoboam whom God choose to be king over all Israel. God gave him strength instead Rehoboam following Gods commandments he acts superior instead of giving thanks unto the Lord. Therefore he forsook the law of God and was unfaithful. When he sinned against the Lord so did the rest of Israel, for they followed him too. Sin destroys our life but God is greater than sin. Let us live a lifestyle of faithfulness to God and let Him move in your life. When others see you how God transforms us. We can testify to them of the goodness of Jesus Christ and they to can be forever changed.

  34. 7 And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

Humility will get further than pride. We should never plan yo do wrong in the sight of God but in the event we do and correction comes to is better to be humble and obedient. It will save is from wrath.

This doesn’t mean that we will always be saved because some lessons we have to learn the hard way. Yet we must always be humble.

  35. And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord .
    2 Chronicles 12:14 KJV

One of the greatest powers God has granted every individual is the power of choice and free will. He did not make robots to worship and love him. He made individuals with the power to determine a course they shall take. While He will make his will known, he will not force Himself on anyone. We are the ones that choose why we do the things we do for God. We choose to love him. We are not forced to. We are commanded, told and advised, but in the end the choice to act upon it belongs to every individual. He wants us to love him by choice. That we make the action, make the effort, prepare our hearts to seek, follow and love Him. If we didnt have a a choice to seek and love then it surely is not love. He will show himself, he will work his wonders, answer your prayers, bless and protect you…but in the end the choice to love God is still ours.

  36. The prophet Shemaiah then met with Rehoboam and Judah’s leaders, who had all fled to Jerusalem because of Shishak. Shemaiah told them, “This is what the Lord says: You have abandoned me, so I am abandoning you to Shishak.”
    2 Chronicles 12:5 NLT

    Egypt invades judaea
    Sin invades you
Each of us have a walk with God and throughout the Bible we know that Egypt is the place of sin and the Israelites were delivered from there. Think about this if you have the Holy Ghost inside of you and you’re listening to the voice of God don’t you think the enemy will try and get you back. I once heard that the devil doesn’t know your name until he’s lost you. Imagine when you stop listening to the voice of God how do you think that makes him feel. It seems like when people backslide their life goes to a spiraling downfall until it crashes. Well when you let Egypt invade you’re removing Gods hedge.
Armor up folks Jesus don’t mess with pretenders

  37. 12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.

In this chapter they were unfaithful and disobedient. God got upset and there were consequences. We have to know that when we do things that are but right God always sees it! He knows us all and most importantly he cares. God would have not died for us if he didn’t care! He cares a lot and wants us to be saved. When it comes to being saved and going in the right direction we cannot take it easy. We have to push and go through trials sometimes, but in the end it’s totally worth it! I pray tonight that we are all making the right decisions physically and spiritually!

  38. 1 And it came to pass, when Rehoboam had established the kingdom, and had strengthened himself, he forsook the law of the Lord, and all Israel with him.

Rehoboams strength came from himself. When you build yourself you get the thought that you don’t need God. Maybe all your success was because of how awesome you are. But that talent came from somewhere. Where did it originate? Everything that is good comes from the Lord, not everything that looks good. We have to examine ourselves and our motives to make sure we are trying to build the Kingdom and not ourselves. When you let your strength come from the Lord, it is real strength.

Your Impure leadership can affect people. We must have a disciplined mind and must be obedient to the Lord commandments, because it help us become closer with God and away from sinful things.

  40. 2 Chronicles 12:12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he will not destroy him all together; and also in Judah things went well.

Things work out when your humble ❤️

  41. 14 And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.

How gray statement this is in so very few words. We say this in so many ways and on so many levels. Always meme sure to have first prepared your heart and be right with Him. This is the meaning behind “Pray without ceasing!” I find my self being rude or saying or thinking wrong and throughout the day stopping my self and asking God to forgive me for my actions or thoughts!! I repent under my breath in the store, or I repent as I get into my car, or I repent while at work or in the restroom. Continually prepare yourself before the Lord!!

  42. 7 And when the Lord saw that they humbled themselves, the word of the Lord came to Shemaiah, saying, They have humbled themselves; therefore I will not destroy them, but I will grant them some deliverance; and my wrath shall not be poured out upon Jerusalem by the hand of Shishak.

Oftentimes right or wrong, we don’t want to take the humble road, and it costs us dearly…

    • 5 Then came Shemaiah the prophet to Rehoboam, and to the princes of Judah, that were gathered together to Jerusalem because of Shishak, and said unto them, Thus saith the Lord, Ye have forsaken me, and therefore have I also left you in the hand of Shishak.

One or the other but you can’t serve both masters!!!

  43. 12 And when he humbled himself, the wrath of the Lord turned from him, that he would not destroy him altogether: and also in Judah things went well.

Humility is not the easiest road because that means that we are no longer selfish. Humility is usually the more difficult road to take. Humility admits where it is wrong. While humility is on the way to repentance, it doesn’t necessarily mean nothing bad happened. Consequences still occur but with forgiveness they may possibly be lessened because of humility.

  44. 1But when Rehoboam was firmly established and strong, he abandoned the Law of the LORD, and all Israel followed him in this sin. 2Because they were unfaithful to the LORD, King Shishak of Egypt came up and attacked Jerusalem in the fifth year of King Rehoboam’s reign.

As a leader, most people will follow. In this case Rehoboam did what was wrong before God, so his people followed his example. He wanted to be in world, and later still wanted to serve God in some manner. He was not fully committed to serving God. To serve God, we have to be committed, obedient and ready to serve.
