2 Chronicles 14

So Abijah slept with his fathers, and they buried him in the city of David: and Asa his son reigned in his stead. In his days the land was quiet ten years.

And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God:

For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:

And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.

And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the Lord had given him rest.

Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the Lord our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.

And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour.

And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.

10 Then Asa went out against him, and they set the battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah.

11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.

12 So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.

13 And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the Lord, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.

14 And they smote all the cities round about Gerar; for the fear of the Lordcame upon them: and they spoiled all the cities; for there was exceeding much spoil in them.

15 They smote also the tents of cattle, and carried away sheep and camels in abundance, and returned to Jerusalem.

  1. Verse 7 ERV “Asa said to the people of Judah, “Let’s build these towns and make walls around them. Let’s make towers, gates, and bars in the gates. Let’s do this while we still live in this country. This country is ours because we have followed the Lord our God. He has given us peace all around us.” So they built and had success.” Asa knew and recognized where their blessings/successes came from. Deuteronomy 28:6-8 AMP says “You will be blessed when you come in and you will be blessed when you go out. “The Lord will cause the enemies who rise up against you to be defeated before you; they will come out against you one way, but flee before you seven ways. The Lord will command the blessing upon you in your storehouses and in [a]all that you undertake, and He will bless you in the land which the Lord your God gives you.” Proverbs 16:3 AMP also says “Commit your works to the Lord [submit and trust them to Him], And your plans will succeed [if you respond to His will and guidance].”

  2. 11. And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.

Our requests to God seem so big to us until we compare them to what He has done before. To the One who simply spoke and the entire Universe appeared, making one change for one of the billions of people on one of the planets in one of the galaxies….you get the idea, it pales in comparison on an astronomical scale!
When we stop comparing our problems to what we can do alone, and compare them to what God can do, our faith and our expectation levels will soar and that opens the door for the miraculous!

  3. 2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God:
3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:
4 And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

Not only did Asa cause the people that turned towards the Lord but he took it a step further and took down the strange idols and statues that were abomination to God. This world is full of idolatry everywhere you look, sometimes it’s not enough to just turn towards God idols must be destroyed and things must be taken down to face towards God. Asa had the idols destroyed so the people could face God without abominable idols standing in the way.

  4. 2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God:

3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:

4 And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

Asa did what he was suppose to do concerning God. He took Judah back to the place of the altar and found the word and commandments of God again. He took away the all the false gods and idols from the people. He began to seek the kingdom of God and the Lord gave him rest. When we seek the face of Gid, he will become our refuge and our strength. We will know peace that we may have never known. But as long as we put the kingdom first, God will fight our battles and he will carry us to victory.

No matter the circumstances that surround our life we will not be alone. Whether we are walking through the valley or climbing the mountain tops. It is all about what we make important in our lives. As for me and my house we shall serve the Lord. That we can honor not only God but we honor the generations that kept the way and the truth by sacrificing for the kingdom of God.

    Live Jesus to give Jesus!

  5. 2 Chron 14-2-3-4 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God.
3] For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the groves.
[4] And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, to do the law and the commandment
    Asa reigns over Judah.
    Asa was a good leader.
    Asa’s early reforms.
He was pleasing the Lord and doing right.
Prov. 16 : 7 When a man’s ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace.
When you listen and do what Lord tells you to do .
You will make the Lord happy!
The Lord reigns forever and forever!
    Let’s go Pofw!

  6. 7 Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the Lord our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.

Favor and prosperity to those who are obedient and submitted to the Lord. All we have to do is live a holy life seeking after God. Least is in victory today Jesus as we follow after You!

  7. Then Asa cried out to the Lord his God, “O Lord , no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Lord , you are our God; do not let mere men prevail against you!” So the Lord defeated the Ethiopians in the presence of Asa and the army of Judah, and the enemy fled.

Not by might, not by power, but by My Spirit, saith the Lord of Hosts!!
Where the Spirit of the Lord is there’s freedom and liberty! We end up in some situations that look pretty grim. Asa had an army of a million Ethiopians coming against him. I’d be nervous took.
But he didn’t turn and run. He didn’t compromise with the enemy. He cried out to the Only One Who Can Save!! His name is Jesus! And the Lord defeated his enemy right in front of his eyes!!!! We gotta remember when the enemy comes in the Lord WILL raise a standard against them. What are we silently struggling with that all we need to do is cry out to God so He may show up MIGHTILY?
The Lord is LOUDER than the noise of many waters! Hallelujah hallelujah!!

  8. Thank you Jesus for today, let us allow him to do his will today

Asa did what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God, for he removed the altars of the foreign gods and the high places, and broke down the sacred pillars and cut down the wooden images. He commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to observe the law and the commandment. And Asa cried out to the Lord his God, and said, “ Lord , it is nothing for You to help, whether with many or with those who have no power; help us, O Lord our God, for we rest on You, and in Your name we go against this multitude. O Lord , You are our God; do not let man prevail against You!”
    II Chronicles 14:2‭-‬4‭, ‬11

  9. 14:2 and Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes
    Of the Lord his God.
    —-
Don’t be so confident when things are doing good knowing that the heart is not.
👉🏼 But it’s different when things are bad or not so good but the heart is right.( with God)
But there are also cases when everything around a person is going well, and one of those things is peace
Yes nothing but peace around us.

And that was the case with king Asa.. he did that which was right , and God saw it, and we can see
    The fruit of….
So the most important thing is : to be right
With Almighty God , no matter what!
For we walk by faith and not by sight.
we see this man relying on God, going to him for help, humbled, with a, clean and honest heart.
    —-
    Hallelujah 🙌
Commit your way to the Lord
    Trust also in him
    And he shall do.
    In Jesus name.
    Amen.

  10. 12 So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.

13 And Asa and the people that were with him pursued them unto Gerar: and the Ethiopians were overthrown, that they could not recover themselves; for they were destroyed before the Lord, and before his host; and they carried away very much spoil.

It didn’t matter how large the army was nothing can stand against the army of the Lord.
This goes to show that God doesn’t like it when you rebel against his word. After reading about the last battle that took place with abijah standing behind the Lord its clear that no matter the circumstances the Lord will always win. This whole world could seem to be against Jesus but He will still stand victorious no matter what. We must stand firm on the word of God no matter the circumstances. We can afford to be shaken or moved by anything to persuade us in any different direction. God wants people rooted so get rooted. Cause when the storm comes you don’t wanna get blown away!

  11. 2 Chronicles Chapter 14

2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God:

3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:

4 And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

King Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord.

How about us ? Do we walk in the council of the Lord? Do we repent and turn our backs away from sin? Do we practice righteousness? Asa the king did.

In verse 11 we read King ASA prayer. If we do right unto the Jesus will he surly answer our prayers. The answer is yes. the king asked in faith and the battle was won. Let us use the example of King Asa as a guide marker for our selves. May we serve the Lord this day rejoicing in the victories He has given us in Jesus Name.

  12. 2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God:

3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:

4 And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

The source of Asia’s peaceful reign was his heart’s attitude toward the Lord. He put away many of the sins of his fathers and encourage his people to seek the Lord. Leading the way himself by sample cleaning his kingdom of idolatry. That’s what happens when you leave old you and apply Acts 2:38.

  13. “And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭14:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

    Hallelujah!!!!

Asa pleased the LORD in living his life of obedience. The hand of GOD was on his life and the people.
He wa a man that exalted the LORD, a man of worship, and a man of prayer.
As Pastor mentioned it takes one person to change the atmosphere.’ It took one king to bring the people of GOD back to righteous living. POFW we are on the right track on bringing our region back to our LORD JESUS!!! Hallelujah 🙌🙌

“Many there be which say of my soul, There is no help for him in God. Selah. But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head. I cried unto the Lord with my voice, and he heard me out of his holy hill. Selah. I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the Lord sustained me. I will not be afraid of ten thousands of people, that have set themselves against me round about. Arise, O Lord; save me, O my God: for thou hast smitten all mine enemies upon the cheek bone; thou hast broken the teeth of the ungodly. Salvation belongeth unto the Lord: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah.”
    ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭3:2-8‬ ‭KJV

  14. 2 “And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God.

Asa chose to be faithful to God in the beginning of his reign. He destroyed anything thing that had to do with false gods. And encourage the people to seek the Lord God of their fathers and His commandments.
They cried out to the Lord and were delivered from their enemies.

  15. 11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude.

Hallelujah!!!! I look up for my help comes from the Lord!!!! All we have to do is call on His Holy Name!!! Make sure to destroy all high places, all the altars of other gods, the physical ones, and the ones in your heart. Because , what will help if you destroy the high places and altars of your heart still devoted to that idol???? Over any situation, call upon His Name JESUS!!! HE WILL GIVE IS VICTORY IN HIS NAME!!! And the spoils will be many so lift up your hands, lift up your eyes, and lift up Praises for He is Good and His Mercy Endureth for ever!!!!

  16. 2Chronicles

Thou Oh Lord Art My Help

Set God before you and you will never have to guess whether or not He will fight for you. We serve a faithful God who doesn’t like when other people start messing with His children! I love this example of what to do when distress presents its self. Don’t get out of character and give up. Remind God what His Word says and stand on each and every one of His promises

  18. No matter how large the army was nothing can stand against the army of the Lord.
This goes to show that God doesn’t like it when you rebel against his word. After reading about the last battle that took place with abijah standing behind the Lord its clear that no matter the They cried out to the Lord and were delivered from their enemies. God will always bring you out if you obey him and keep his commandments.

  19. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    MY KEY TO VICTORY

11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.

Life presents challenges, some are from the adversary, some are from our own neglect and some are simply obstacles in the path. Regardless of the origin or cause of the peril or challenge we should cry unto the LORD as did Asa.

The result of Asa doing what is right in the sight of the LORD is that he could confidently call on the LORD in time of battle and be DELIVERED and BLESSED by GOD.

Some battles have the potential for a great return. In fact we should not engage in a battle where there is no spoil. In other words, if there is no profitable reason to fight then refrain from engaging. But when we see opportunity for great spoil, we should call on the LORD to HELP.

  20. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
“In his days the land was quiet ten years.”

If you really think about it, this scripture is hard for most of us to understand. We really have to put our selves into the shoes of these ancient people to fully understand the context. Back in the day before Asa stepped up on the scene, there was continual war. Our American minds do not fully understand what it means to be at war, but war affected every person in Judah and there was no such thing as trying to protect civilians from getting hurt. To have 10 years of peace without fighting everyday to protect your life from instant death must have truly been a blessing.

Let’s count our blessings and thank God for the extended protection that he has blessed the United States with.

  21. 2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God:

3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:

4 And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

5 Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.

6 And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the Lord had given him rest.

We have witnessed the regime of kings changing and one king will put up idols and turn the people away from God and the other king will take away the idols and restore love and respect for God back to the people. In today’s instance we find that when Asa returned the land back to God, there was peace in the land for over ten years.

We find the same situation in our world today. We had prosperity and peace for 4 hours, and now our world is in chaos and uproar, jobs lost, prices rising, unemployment on the rise, people are are fearful, worried, upset…….as children of the Lord we can have peace that God is still in control. No matter what happens, we have the promises of God….we are not alone, and all the earth is the Lord and the fullness thereof. If we will remove any idols in our lives, follow the Lord our God with all our heart, mind, soul and spirit, we can have peace and know that God will take care of His children.

AMP Pro 23: 17 Do not let your heart envy sinners [who live godless lives and have no hope of salvation], But [continue to] live in the [reverent, worshipful] fear of the Lord day by day.
18 Surely there is a future [and a reward],
And your hope and expectation will not be cut off.

  22. 2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God:
3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:
4 And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

It is better to be obedient and to what is right then to sacrifice. Asa followed God and was obedient to him.

  23. 2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God:
3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:
4 And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

Asa was truly blessed of God because he served him according to his commandments and took idol worship out of the kingdom. Then, when he was facing a great enemy, God stepped in at Asa’s cry for help. God not only led the charge against the Ethiopians but he also gave him great wealth in the process. We never know when a hard trial may come upon us, but by continually serving the Lord, we know we have an advocate that will act on our behalf, even Jesus-
    the mighty God.

  24. 11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.

When we have been obedient to the voice of the Lord, we can boldly cry out to Him for help in our time of need and be sure that He will answer.

The battle belongs to you, Lord!

  25. 11 “Asa called out to the Lord his God, saying, “O Lord, there is no one besides You to help in the battle between the powerful and the weak; so help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in and rely on You, and in Your name we have come against this multitude. O Lord, You are our God; let not man prevail against You.”

Reading this verse had so many songs come to mind this morning.

King of Every Battle, Lord We Trust In You Lord, You’re Name is Greater…

I pray we don’t let a day go by without singing a praise to God! Through a prayer, action, or worship!

He is the KING of Every Battle in your life, or world. There is no one else more deserving of our trust, than JESUS! There is no name above the name of JESUS!

  26. “Once an Ethiopian named Zerah attacked Judah with an army of 1,000,000 men and 300 chariots. They advanced to the town of Mareshah, so Asa deployed his armies for battle in the valley north of Mareshah. Then Asa cried out to the Lord his God, “O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Lord, you are our God; do not let mere men prevail against you!””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭14:9-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬
In his prayer Asa correctly understood that God’s power was not enhanced or limited by man’s apparent strength or weakness. He recognized that this battle belonged to the LORD and called upon God to defend His honor (do not let man prevail against You!).

  27. 2 Chronicles 14:2-5
[2]Asa did what was pleasing and good in the sight of the lord his God.
[3]He removed the foreign altars and the pagan shrines. He smashed the sacred pillars and cut down the Asherah poles.
[4]He commanded the people of Judah to seek the lord, the God of their ancestors, and to obey his law and his commands.
[5]Asa also removed the pagan shrines, as well as the incense altars from every one of Judah’s towns. So Asa’s kingdom enjoyed a period of peace.

    There is only one God

Asherah is a Hebrew word for what was either a goddess or a cultic object or perhaps both. Although many see evidence for Asherah being an individual goddess known to the Israelites. The Bible frequently addresses asherah (singular) and asherim (plural) as cult symbols from the time of the Israelite judges until right before the destruction of Judah in the early 6th century BCE. On the other hand, some passages in the Bible clearly reference Asherah as being a goddess. In the Bible, the Iron Age text of 1 Kings 18:19 states that Asherah had prophets in Tyre just as the Canaanite god Baal had prophets. Additionally, 2 Kings 23:6 declares that the priests of Solomon’s Temple brought out “all the objects made for Baal and Asherah and all the host of heaven”. This verse also seems to indicate that Asherah was at least sometimes considered to be a deity.

  28. 2 Chronicles 14:1-6 (NLT)
    1) When Abijah died, he was buried in the City of David. Then his son Asa became the next king. There was PEACE in the land for ten years.
    2) Asa did what was PLEASING and GOOD in the Sight of the LORD his God.
    3) He REMOVED the foreign altars and the pagan shrines. He SMASHED the sacred pillars and CUT DOWN the Asherah poles.
    4) He commanded the people of Judah to SEEK the LORD, the God of their ancestors, and to OBEY His LAW and His COMMANDS.
    5) Asa also REMOVED the pagan shrines, as well as the incense altars from every one of Judah’s towns. So Asa’s kingdom enjoyed a period of PEACE.
    6) During those PEACEFUL years, he was able to build up the fortified towns throughout Judah. No one tried to make war against him at this time, for the LORD was Giving Him REST From His Enemies.

    “PEACE”
When we do that which is PLEASING and GOOD in the Sight of the LORD, when we REMOVE, SMASH, and CUT DOWN the things in our heart and life that shouldn’t be there, and we begin to SEEK the LORD and OBEY His LAW and COMMANDS, we will have PEACE in our life, and the LORD will Give Us REST From Our Enemies.
Proverbs 16:7 says, “When a man’s ways PLEASE the LORD, He maketh his enemies to be at PEACE with him.”

You need PEACE in your life today? Do that which is PLEASING and GOOD in the Sight of the LORD. REMOVE, SMASH, and CUT DOWN some things in your heart and life that don’t need to be there, and then SEEK the LORD and OBEY His LAWS and COMMANDS. Then you’ll have PEACE. The added Blessing is that the LORD will make your enemies to be at PEACE with you.

  29. 5 Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.

6 And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the Lord had given him rest.

7 Therefore he said unto Judah, Let us build these cities, and make about them walls, and towers, gates, and bars, while the land is yet before us; because we have sought the Lord our God, we have sought him, and he hath given us rest on every side. So they built and prospered.

What to do in the place of Rest/blessing.
We see here a great a example from someone who had their heart right with the Lord and followed his ways. The Lord had given them rest on every side. We can definitely say that they were in a season of blessings. When nothing goes wrong and enemy is not permitted to attack. You definitely are blessed. The valuable lesson here as well is that they didnt let up or relaxed and just enjoyed life and became fat and lazy. But on the contrary the did get to work. Let’s put it in simple terms, they saw beautiful day let’s take opportunity of this and make the most of it. Instead of relaxing down they build up. They built up cities with walls and towers and gates. They got themselves stronger for the time of battle. They ready themselves like the ant and prepared for the “winter days” if you could put it that way. Likewise we should do when entering a season of blessing and rest, build up your most holy faith praying in the Holy Ghost. Dont take a spiritual vacation because nothing is attacking you but this is the time to go even deeper in your knowledge of God. This is the time to increase your knowledge of the Word, which is God. Remember, knowledge is power. This is the time to build up your gates and be wise about who you allow in and out of your life allowing a voice and influence on you. When God grants you the rest, build yourself up even stronger. We see later in the chapter because they had “turned to God, and built up” their relationship with Him, when they encountered trouble and attack the cried out unto the Lord and he responded with victory for them. Why? They had built up that relationship. They had sought the Lord even in their time where there was rest. This is a great take away from this chapter. A time of blessing and rest is not a time to relax and please the flesh going carnal, but it’s a time to get stronger and to build up your defences.

When a man’s ways please the Lord , he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.
    Proverbs 16:7 KJV

  30. “Asa did what was good and right in the sight of the LORD his God.

And he commanded Judah to seek the LORD God of their fathers [to inquire of and for Him and seek Him as a vital necessity], and to observe the law [given to Moses] and the commandment.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭14:2, 4‬ ‭AMP‬‬

We have got to be willing to stand up and speak up. We have to show the world that Jesus is the only way. We can’t be afraid to show them Jesus. We are in this world but not of it. This is why we must be disciples and go out and teach those who don’t know the way. We must always carry Christ with us and allow him to speak through us because ultimately our goal is winning souls to Christ. There is that saying “ a close mouth doesn’t get fed”… well as Christians we can’t win souls to Christ if we are silent. It’s time to speak up and get back to winning souls to Christ. Somebody prayed for us and reached out to us… so why can’t we do the same and reach out to someone? It’s time to step up and step out of our comfort zone.

  31. In these darker times. We have to rely on the Lord. They will come for us. But we must build up our heads and fight the good fight. Call God and make him your foundation. They will fight us a rise against us.

    Call God.

“Then Asa cried out to the Lord his God, “O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Lord, you are our God; do not let mere men prevail against you!””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭14:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  32. 2 Chronicles 14:11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest in thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.

Proverbs 18:10 The name of the Lord is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.

I will trust in my God.

  33. 12 So the Lord smote the Ethiopians before Asa, and before Judah; and the Ethiopians fled.

The battle is not ours, it is the Lord’s.

  34. When we follow the Lord and put out evil and things that don’t please God he will be with us and we will be victorious.

  35. “Then Asa cried out to the Lord his God, “O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Lord, you are our God; do not let mere men prevail against you!””

The Power of Prayer. Prayers to the Lord are wonderful to have one on one talk to the Lord, to build relationship with the creator of heaven and earth. When we are obedient to the Lord commandments and word he gives authority and power over the enemies. We need to be Jesus best friend it cause us to be prayer warriors and a victorious leader.

  36. 11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let not man prevail against thee.
    2 Chronicles 14:11 KJV

Always have full faith and trust in the Lord for he is greater than all and will never let you down. Let us realize the power that is in prayer, prayer can do so many things, remember that the Lord hears every single prayer we say to him. When we are going through trails, battles, and our lowest points keep close to the Lord for he can and will get you through anything. I pray we never forget the power of the Lord and how he saved us and can do it again. Nothing in this world can defeat God, so what makes you think the Lord will let something defeat his children. The Lord has so much love and care for us give him thanks and give your all to him daily.

  37. “so Asa deployed his armies for battle in the valley north of Mareshah. Then Asa cried out to the Lord his God, “O Lord, no one but you can help the powerless against the mighty! Help us, O Lord our God, for we trust in you alone. It is in your name that we have come against this vast horde. O Lord, you are our God; do not let mere men prevail against you!””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭14:10-11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So as Asa send his armies ready for battle he cried to Lord and his trust was in the one who never fail us. When we begin to cry to the Lord He answers us and will be with us in trouble and He will deliver us. Trust in the Lord for ever, for in the Lord our God is everlasting strength.

  38. “Zerah the Ethiopian went to war against Asa with an army of a million plus three hundred chariots and got as far as Mareshah. Asa met him there and prepared to fight from the Valley of Zephathah near Mareshah. Then Asa prayed to GOD, “O GOD, you aren’t impressed by numbers or intimidated by a show of force once you decide to help: Help us, O GOD; we have come out to meet this huge army because we trust in you and who you are. Don’t let mere mortals stand against you!””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭14:9-11‬ ‭MSG‬‬

This Scripture means that, When We Obey God He will Help us through trials and tribulations and crush satan at his feet with God’s Help.

  39. 8 And Asa had an army of men that bare targets and spears, out of Judah three hundred thousand; and out of Benjamin, that bare shields and drew bows, two hundred and fourscore thousand: all these were mighty men of valour.

9 And there came out against them Zerah the Ethiopian with an host of a thousand thousand, and three hundred chariots; and came unto Mareshah.

We must always remember, Greater is He that is with us , than he that is in the world. We need to simply ask that Jesus open our eyes that we might see the host that is on our side.

  40. 2 And Asa did that which was good and right in the eyes of the Lord his God:

3 For he took away the altars of the strange gods, and the high places, and brake down the images, and cut down the groves:

When you love the Lord you will put away everything that is not like him. Everything that is contrary to God will try to bring you down. God gives his people the power over sin. We must never let up on what God wants us to do. We are that light to the list that in this dark world.

  41. In this chapter Asa was the king. Kings have big responsibilities to do, when ruling their kingdom. I hope that we are all giving thanks and recognition to our king of kings above all. I pray tonight that your temple is is good in His eyes!

  42. 4 And commanded Judah to seek the Lord God of their fathers, and to do the law and the commandment.

5 Also he took away out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the images: and the kingdom was quiet before him.

6 And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the Lord had given him rest.

    Seem the Lord
    Obey the Lord
    Destroy the enemy’s camp
    Protect what your building

At some point many of us have done something wrong in the eyes of God. Our mistakes must not define us our desire to push back and make things right should.

  43. “Let us build up these towns,” he said to Judah, “and put walls around them, with towers, gates and bars. The land is still ours, because we have sought the Lord our God; we sought him and he has given us rest on every side.” So they built and prospered.”

    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭14:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Unfortunately, life has its crazy moments, it’s tireless battles, and never ending surprises. However, God takes care of us through it all. When we come to a patch in our life where everything is calm and seems nothing could go wrong that doesn’t mean we have the ok to become lazy in our spiritual upkeep and maintenance in our life.

King Asa saw peace for ten years during his reign. It would have been easy to sit back and relax, taking in the peace and quiet but instead he chose to prepare his kingdom for the gloom that could POSSIBLY arise But building walls, towers, gates, and bats. They were ready for whatever would come next, whenever it would come. That’s exactly how we should be, spiritually ready to face head on whatever comes our way because we are prepared.

What an awesome realization and verbal description of God. God is so wonderful that it is nothing for him to defeat anything. God can defeat many and God can defeat few.

  45. Building the wall

6 And he built fenced cities in Judah: for the land had rest, and he had no war in those years; because the Lord had given him rest.

When we do things the right way, God rewards us with a spiritual wall. The wall is built by every obedience to his word. The wall is built by every prayer. The wall is built by every witness that we give to his greatness. The wall is built by every sacrifice we make for his kingdom. I know where my peace comes from, it is built in the spiritual wall/fence/hedge of protection that Jesus places around my life.

  46. 11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.

Asa cried unto to Lord! When was the last time that you were in a storm or a difficult time in your life and you needed Him?? Did you cry out to him?? Because sometimes that is all it takes!!! Sometimes he is waiting on us to reach out, s cream, cry, whatever it takes to prove that we want him! He wants us to

  47. 11 And Asa cried unto the Lord his God, and said, Lord, it is nothing with thee to help, whether with many, or with them that have no power: help us, O Lord our God; for we rest on thee, and in thy name we go against this multitude. O Lord, thou art our God; let no man prevail against thee.

Asa cried unto to Lord! When was the last time that you were in a storm or a difficult time in your life and you needed Him?? Did you cry out to him?? Because sometimes that is all it takes!!! 48. 4He commanded the people of Judah to seek the LORD, the God of their ancestors, and to obey his law and his commands. 5Asa also removed the pagan shrines, as well as the incense altars from every one of Judah’s towns. So Asa’s kingdom enjoyed a period of peace.

Asa was the leader of Judah and his family. Fathers, lead your family, show the way of God. Children will learn from you, and more than likely will follow God.
