1 Kings 18

And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.

And Elijah went to shew himself unto Ahab. And there was a sore famine in Samaria.

And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the Lord greatly:

For it was so, when Jezebel cut off the prophets of the Lord, that Obadiah took an hundred prophets, and hid them by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water.)

And Ahab said unto Obadiah, Go into the land, unto all fountains of water, and unto all brooks: peradventure we may find grass to save the horses and mules alive, that we lose not all the beasts.

So they divided the land between them to pass throughout it: Ahab went one way by himself, and Obadiah went another way by himself.

And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Art thou that my lord Elijah?

And he answered him, I am: go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

And he said, What have I sinned, that thou wouldest deliver thy servant into the hand of Ahab, to slay me?

10 As the Lord thy God liveth, there is no nation or kingdom, whither my lord hath not sent to seek thee: and when they said, He is not there; he took an oath of the kingdom and nation, that they found thee not.

11 And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here.

12 And it shall come to pass, as soon as I am gone from thee, that the Spirit of the Lord shall carry thee whither I know not; and so when I come and tell Ahab, and he cannot find thee, he shall slay me: but I thy servant fear the Lord from my youth.

13 Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the Lord, how I hid an hundred men of the Lord’s prophets by fifty in a cave, and fed them with bread and water?

14 And now thou sayest, Go, tell thy lord, Behold, Elijah is here: and he shall slay me.

15 And Elijah said, As the Lord of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, I will surely shew myself unto him to day.

16 So Obadiah went to meet Ahab, and told him: and Ahab went to meet Elijah.

17 And it came to pass, when Ahab saw Elijah, that Ahab said unto him, Art thou he that troubleth Israel?

18 And he answered, I have not troubled Israel; but thou, and thy father’s house, in that ye have forsaken the commandments of the Lord, and thou hast followed Baalim.

19 Now therefore send, and gather to me all Israel unto mount Carmel, and the prophets of Baal four hundred and fifty, and the prophets of the groves four hundred, which eat at Jezebel’s table.

20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.

21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

22 Then said Elijah unto the people, I, even I only, remain a prophet of the Lord; but Baal’s prophets are four hundred and fifty men.

23 Let them therefore give us two bullocks; and let them choose one bullock for themselves, and cut it in pieces, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under: and I will dress the other bullock, and lay it on wood, and put no fire under:

24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.

26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.

27 And it came to pass at noon, that Elijah mocked them, and said, Cry aloud: for he is a god; either he is talking, or he is pursuing, or he is in a journey, or peradventure he sleepeth, and must be awaked.

28 And they cried aloud, and cut themselves after their manner with knives and lancets, till the blood gushed out upon them.

29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.

31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

32 And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.

34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.

35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LordGod, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.

40 And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.

42 So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,

43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.

44 And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down that the rain stop thee not.

45 And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

46 And the hand of the Lord was on Elijah; and he girded up his loins, and ran before Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel.

You have to eliminate all the possibilities that your walk with God is in any way other than a miracle.

  2. 24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken

I can only imagine what this situation was like in real life. I wonder how intense Elijah sounded whenever he stood before all those people and told them to make the decision. What life really comes down to is the God that answers by fire. Of course in this situation it is a literal sense of fire but in today’s world it means whoever gives a sense of purpose. That’s all people are really looking for is wanting a fulfillment whether it is selfish or wanting to know why they are on Earth. Unfortunately most seek out fulfillment through selfish gaines or through other means when God is right there ready and willing with the holy Ghost fire to consume that Gap in their life. What we as Christians have is that fire that this world needs. That pure unadulterated loving passion for the right things in life can only come from God and that’s exactly what this world needs whether they realize it or not

  3. Verse 46 AMP “Then the hand of the Lord came upon Elijah [giving him supernatural strength]. He [f]girded up his loins and outran Ahab to the entrance of Jezreel [nearly twenty miles].” I wonder what Ahab was thinking…..”Not bad for some old troublemaker”! My God can do anything and use anyone. Do not ever think that you are to old or not strong enough to see something through, as God can also use you supernaturally!

Ephesians 1:13-19 MSG says ” It’s in Christ that you, once you heard the truth and believed it (this Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free—signed, sealed, and delivered by the Holy Spirit. This down payment from God is the first installment on what’s coming, a reminder that we’ll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life. That’s why, when I heard of the solid trust you have in the Master Jesus and your outpouring of love to all the followers of Jesus, I couldn’t stop thanking God for you—every time I prayed, I’d think of you and give thanks. But I do more than thank. I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength!” It’s just like the song that we sing:

The same power; the same power
    That crushed the enemy
The same power; the same power
The same power lives in me

  4. 44. And it came to pass at the seventh time, that he said, Behold, there ariseth a little cloud out of the sea, like a man’s hand. And he said, Go up, say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.

    45. And it came to pass in the mean while, that the heaven was black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode, and went to Jezreel.

Don’t get caught in the rain.
If Elijah hadn’t taken action when there was just a little cloud, they would have all gotten caught in the downpour.
God usually doesn’t show us everything at once – we need to learn to be sensitive to the Spirit and recognize the small cues when they come…like the small cloud before the great rain.

    I hear the sound
    Of abundance of rain
    God’s gonna pour out
    His Spirit upon all man
    Like the days of old
    Revival’s coming again
    I hear the sound
    Of abundance of rain

  5. 3 And Ahab called Obadiah, which was the governor of his house. (Now Obadiah feared the Lord greatly:

It would be a great honor to have the recoding angel note in the book of life next to you name that you feard the Lord greatly.

  6. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LordGod, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

We need the fire of God to fall. This world needs to see that Jesus is God. Fill us and consume us Lord to be the fire that spreads through this land!

  7. This is still my all time favorite Bible story. I heard it the FIRST DAY I came to POFW. GOD filled me with the Holy Ghost and I was baptized that day. That was almost 8 years ago.
This is another beautiful and powerful story of reconciliation between God and His double minded people. This shows also that people NEED a shepherd or they will just follow anybody. We are made to be in a tribe. We were made to have a leader look over us.
God won His people back to Him. And I guess that’s why I love this story so much. When I knew about God I was still being influenced and led by other things. I was also in a pretty bad situation. But God answered by fire!! He’s a Provider and Protector of them that love Him. Hallelujah. I praise Your Holy Name!

  8. 1 Kings 18: 38 -39 Then the fire of the Lord and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood , and the stones , and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.
[39] And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces, and they said, The Lord, he is God, the Lord , he is God.
Philippians 2: 10-11] That at the name of Jesus every knee, should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth , and things under the earth.
11] And that every tougue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God, the Father.
    Jesus is Lord.
The power of God was dramatically proven in the victory that took place on Mount Carmel.
Thank God for the Holy Ghost!

  9. 18: 41 and Elijah said unto Ahab
Get the up, eat and drink, for there
Is a sound of abundance of rain.
    ——
    … fort there is a sound. (😳🙌😁!!!)
Get up now!!! Do not hesitate
Don’t leave it for later, or for tomorrow.
If am going to praise, I am going to praise now
If I am going to believe I am going to believe now.
    Speak it now.
    Bind it now.
    Loose it now.
    Believe it now.
    Proclaim it now.
    Hallelujah 🙌😊!!!

  10. 25 And Elijah said unto the prophets of Baal, Choose you one bullock for yourselves, and dress it first; for ye are many; and call on the name of your gods, but put no fire under.
26 And they took the bullock which was given them, and they dressed it, and called on the name of Baal from morning even until noon, saying, O Baal, hear us. But there was no voice, nor any that answered. And they leaped upon the altar which was made.

Our God answers by fire! Thats what I’m talking about. I love re reading parts of the bible and being reminded that all these other gods out there people are worshipping CANNOT do what the Lord does. When I’m walking i can feel something supernatural occurring theres been a shift in the spirit realm and these false idols are being lifted higher and higher. I want to remind everyone that it doesn’t matter how high these false idols are being lifted they will never reach the point where the Lord or is there is no Thrown higher than his. Be bad in the holy ghost and build an altar before the Lord and before these people worshipping false idols and let the fire of the holy ghost fall before them.

  11. 30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me.

Always build your alter!!! God will always show up!

  12. A God That Does Not Fail
43 And said to his servant, Go up now, look toward the sea. And he went up, and looked, and said, There is nothing. And he said, Go again seven times.
Elijah knew His God would Not Fail!
Go look again 7 times ! Don’t quit God will not fail you
Speaking with a friend yesterday, His words were this now I can tell you what God spoke 5 years ago as your husband was dying . A message that truly was needed for the moment. The prophet of God knew God was going to send the rain . Elijah had just had a tussle with the enemy. Baal did not answer with fire . He di bit answer at all . The people were so distraught they began to harm their self. Yet God Jehovah-jireh the Provider showed up . I hear the sound of an abundance of rain .
41 And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.
God will pour out His Spirit. It’s time to get ready . Some do not believe enough to grab the umbrella but Elijah knew with all his heart . He would not take no for an answer for He knew whom he worshiped was the true God . Fire and Rain . The God who answered by Fire and the God who provided the Rain.
A God that Does Not Fail !

  13. 36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

Don’t let things of this world be what you worship or idolize. Put your time and effort in worshiping the one true God. When you call on Him , He is always on time .

  14. There is one true God. I have felt him, I have heard him, I have seen his work and I have witnessed his miracles. God is our heavenly father and will forever be on the throne.

  15. Es inimaginable que poder del DIOS al que yo sirvo y solo mucha gente Cree si lo ve, bienaventurado el que Cree sin ver. Gracias senor JESUS.

  16. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    THE UNCERTAIN VALLEY OF INDECISION

21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

We live in a time and world where worship is the prize. Natural or Spiritual the worlds of LIGHT and darkness are pulling for the attention of every individual. Because a decision requires a commitment, many remain undecided, to maintain control of their own choice. It appears as if there is a Spiritual numbness that seeks to confuse and confine people to the prison of indecision.

If JESUS be LORD and GOD of ALL then we should follow HIM with all that is in us. If JESUS is not LORD and GOD of ALL then we should take our chances with our own destiny. The choice is literally ours and unfortunately the choice of INDECISION is the choice of deception.

BUT like the time of the prophets Elijah and Joel so as NOW. The day of the LORD or the day of Decision is at hand. We must choose.

Joel 3:14 Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision.

    JESUS instructs us:

Luke 16:13 No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

    Choose JESUS today.

  17. 31 And Elijah took twelve stones, according to the number of the tribes of the sons of Jacob, unto whom the word of the Lord came, saying, Israel shall be thy name:

32 And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.

33 And he put the wood in order, and cut the bullock in pieces, and laid him on the wood, and said, Fill four barrels with water, and pour it on the burnt sacrifice, and on the wood.

34 And he said, Do it the second time. And they did it the second time. And he said, Do it the third time. And they did it the third time.

35 And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.

Could you imagine the face of the congregation??? The land is in drought and famine and here they are sacrificing a bullock and drenching the trench with water. I can almost hear their complaining. “ What a terrible leader, how could him waste all that without a care for God’s people?? Etc etc”
I can also see the cockiness of Elijah’s face, full of confidence and faith, knowing that God will not let him down; after all this is the same God that had ravens bring him food, and the same God that made unlimited flour and oil at the widows house. He is confident that God is going to show up and show them all THAT HE ONLY IS GOD!!! Oh Israel, the Lord our God is ONE!!!!

Oh what I would give to see their faces!!! But it shouldn’t take a wow demonstration for us to believe. That right there is what messes up a church. People coming for the wow demonstration and not to hear and learn the word of God. God’s truth needs to be preached and not sugar coated so it won’t offend anyone.
Psalm 119: 165 Great peace have they which love thy law: and nothing shall offend them.

  18. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
    “Israel’s Most Wanted”

Elijah was a fugitive and was on the run from the law. The king was hunting him down with the most extreme intentions of finding him. God was able to keep Elijah alive and well during the man hunt. Now we find ourselves at a show down Ole West style. One thing I noticed from the scripture was when the prophets were calling upon their gods. Notice this verse, 29 And it came to pass, when midday was past, and they prophesied until the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that there was neither voice, nor any to answer, nor any that regarded.

When you read this verse its easy to miss, but right there it is…”they prophesied until the time of the offering…”

What does it mean to prophesy?
    נָבָא nâbâ’
A primitive root; to prophesy, that is, speak (or sing) by inspiration (in prediction or simple discourse)

To prophecy is to speak by inspiration. These prophets were inspired! They were prophesying.

But what were they prophesying? LIES

This shows me these prophets were filled….with the spirit of deception.

  19. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.

God showed up at the cry of Elijah and showed the people who served Baal that He was the One True Living God and it turned their hearts to Him. When we are asking God for signs, wonders and miracles, it is not for us to be glorified, but everything we do is for God to receive the glory.

The challenge we have as humans is we want the glory, we want to be in the limelight, we want it to be said that the miracle happened when “we” prayed. This attitude stops God from answering and doing the work.

If we will submit ourselves to the Lord and be humble in attitude, I believe we will begin to see more signs and wonders happen. After all, signs and wonders are supposed to be for the unbelievers heart to be turned to God.

  20. Stir up the fire

“Then Elijah said to them, “I am the only prophet of the Lord who is left, but Baal has 450 prophets. Now bring two bulls. The prophets of Baal may choose whichever one they wish and cut it into pieces and lay it on the wood of their altar, but without setting fire to it. I will prepare the other bull and lay it on the wood on the altar, but not set fire to it.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:22-23‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Stir up the fire with your faith. Call on the name of the Lord. The Lord the champion of the world will send fire from heaven. He’ll stand up against any false prophet. Any idol. Any god that claims to be God.

Brothers of Fort Worth hear me out. Stir up your faith until you have faith as strong as this. To stand up against your adversary and look them dead in the eye. And claim the name of the Lord.

  21. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LordGod, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

God’s mercy and love showed Israel He was the one true God and He turned the people back to him through this demonstration. God does miracles signs and wonders today to lead the unbeliever to him. We the church must be ready for the souls he draws unto him and lead teach and guide them as they develop their own relationship with him. Thank you Lord for the former and latter rain on POFW.

  22. 1 Kings 18:24-29,36-39
[24]Then call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of the lord. The god who answers by setting fire to the wood is the true God!” And all the people agreed.
[25]Then Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “You go first, for there are many of you. Choose one of the bulls, and prepare it and call on the name of your god. But do not set fire to the wood.”
[26]So they prepared one of the bulls and placed it on the altar. Then they called on the name of Baal from morning until noontime, shouting, “O Baal, answer us!” But there was no reply of any kind. Then they danced, hobbling around the altar they had made.
[27]About noontime Elijah began mocking them. “You’ll have to shout louder,” he scoffed, “for surely he is a god! Perhaps he is daydreaming, or is relieving himself. Or maybe he is away on a trip, or is asleep and needs to be wakened!”
[28]So they shouted louder, and following their normal custom, they cut themselves with knives and swords until the blood gushed out.
[29]They raved all afternoon until the time of the evening sacrifice, but still there was no sound, no reply, no response.
[36]At the usual time for offering the evening sacrifice, Elijah the prophet walked up to the altar and prayed, “O  lord, God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, prove today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant. Prove that I have done all this at your command.
[37]O  lord, answer me! Answer me so these people will know that you, O  lord, are God and that you have brought them back to yourself.”
[38]Immediately the fire of the lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench!
[39]And when all the people saw it, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “The lord—he is God! Yes, the lord is God!”

There is only one God. You are the God of miracles, signs, and wonders who is worthy of our highest praise. Thank you Jesus

  23. 21 “Elijah challenged the people: “How long are you going to sit on the fence? If God is the real God, follow him; if it’s Baal, follow him. Make up your minds!” Nobody said a word; nobody made a move.” MSG

Do it or don’t. Just make a choice.

Rev 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”.

  24. “All of the people saw it. Then they fell down flat with their faces toward the ground. They cried out, “The Lord is the one and only God! The Lord is the one and only God!””
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:39‬ ‭NIRV‬‬

Lord, you are the One True Living God and there is none besides you. You are the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Who can compare to you? Who is like you Lord? None! There’s is none beside you!

  25. 20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.

21 And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.

It is exactly what we are seeing in the world today. We find when it comes to Jesus there are only so many that will stand in the gap for the kingdom of God. But there are many that are standing in the cross of two opinions just like the children of Israel. We are seeing everything in this world being pushed away from the word of God. We are seeing everything that was wrong is now considered right and everything right is now wrong. We have to be the church that will not sway from the foundation of the word of God.

We have to proclaim that the Lord he is the only God that can save, heal, deliver, and change. We have to be ready for the power and fire if God to fall on this world and draw folks back to the church and save them before the coming of Jesus Christ. Live Jesus to give Jesus is the way.

  26. 1 Kings Chapter 18

39 And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.

That which we have read is not a story but history or we may say His (Jesus) story.

We to have a story to tell to others. It is our story of Jesus in our lives. It is our testimony. This testimony we carry Christ in you the hope of glory and we bare testimony that others may say after hearing it say the Lord He is God and Savior.

Remember that the God of Elijah is the same God (Jesus) who is the same yesterday, today, and forever. He does not change.

The 23rd Psalm states that The Lord is my Sheppard I shall not want. John 10 states
John 10:1-5,14 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Whos voice are you listening to may it Be Jesus the good Sheppard.

  27. I Kings 18:36 And it came to pass at the time of the offering of the evening sacrifice, that Elijah the prophet came near, and said, Lord God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be known this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am they servant, and that I have done all these things at thy word.

Matthew 22:32 I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob ? God is not the God of the dead, but of the living.

The faithful One is yet Israel’s God, the only God who they had to deal with.

    Matthew 22:32

  28. 1 Kings 18:21, (KJV) “And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.”
1 Kings 18:21, (MSG) “Elijah challenged the people: How long are you going to sit on the fence? If God is the real God, follow him; if it’s Baal, follow him. Make up your minds! Nobody said a word; nobody made a move.

“It’s Time To Make A Final Choice”
St. Matt. 6:24 (KJV) says, “No man can serve to masters;…”
St. Matt. 6:24 (MSG) says, “You can’t worship two gods at once…”
Elijah challenged the people to “Make A Final Choice.” It was time to stop jumping back and forth between two opinions, it was time to stop sitting (riding) on the fence and Choose who they were going to follow, serve, and worship. If it was God they Chose, then follow, serve, and worship Him, but it was Baal they Chose, then follow, serve, and worship him, BUT they couldn’t have it both ways.
Even Joshua said to the people in Joshua 24:15 (KJV), “And if it seem evil unto you to serve the LORD; choose you this day whom ye will serve;… Same scripture in (MSG), “If you decide that it’s a bad thing to worship God, then choose a god you’d rather serve. Do it today…” “It Was Time To Make A Final Choice.”
You see Elijah and Joshua both had already “Made A Final Choice” in their lives. They’re hearts were fixed, and they made up in their minds who they were going to follow, serve, and worship, and that was God!
Elijah said in verse 36, “… LORD God of Abraham, Isaac, and of Israel, let it be know this day that thou art God in Israel, and that I am thy servant,…
Joshua said in Joshua 24:15, “… but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.”

“It’s Time To Make A Final Choice.”
It’s time to have your heart fixed, and your mind made up on the one who you are going to follow, serve, and worship.
The question is, “Who are you going to choose to follow, serve, and worship? The (real) GOD or another (false) god?”
I have made My Choice. “But as for Me and my house, we will Follow, Serve, and Worship the LORD!”

There’s a song entitled “Souled Out,” and part of it says…
My heart is fixed, My minds made up
No room, no vacancies, I’m all filled up
His Spirit lives in me, and that’s the reason I’m Souled Out
    Yes

  29. “And the water ran round about the altar; and he filled the trench also with water.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:35‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sometimes God will make it to where it looks like we are at a disadvantage when in reality He is preparing a But God experience. Here we see Elijah squashed all doubt that his sacrifice to God was in any better shape than the sacrifice the other prophets tried to offer to baal. God was showing Israel that He is not limited by circumstance, He will always bring the fire.

Thank you Jesus for the fire!

  30. 39And when all the people saw it, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “The LORD—he is God! Yes, the LORD is God!”

Like most people, we want to see a miracle physically. We won’t believe it until we see it mentality. Just trust in God and miracles will happen. The blessings and healings we get, are miracles.

  31. 1 Kings 18:1-3 Voice
[1] Many days passed, and the word of the Eternal visited Elijah during the third year of the drought. Eternal One: Go now, and reveal yourself to Ahab. When you do, I will bring rain on the earth. [2] Elijah then went to reveal himself to Ahab. During this time, there was a dangerous shortage of food in Samaria, [3] and Ahab had summoned Obadiah to come to him. Obadiah was the coordinator of Ahab’s palace and was wholly devoted to the Eternal.

Elijah simply obeyed God’s command. Though it happened through the prayers of Elijah, his prayers were sensitive to the leading of God. The drought did not begin or end as a result of Elijah’s will, but at God’s will.

  32. “Answer me, O LORD, answer me, so that this people may know that You, O LORD, are God, and that You have turned their hearts back [to You].””
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:37‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Elijah wasn’t moved by the multitude of people. He stood his ground. He did not waiver. He fully knew who GOD almighty is.
I was asked this weekend in why am I under the leadership of Pastor Watts and why do I continue to go to POFW?
Our witness/testimony must be louder than what this world is living like. As much as I questioned in where is all of this coming from…I stepped away for a minute knowing it was the enemy himself. My prayer continues to pray for my family, my children, and our nation. Church(POFW) stay the course! Keep seeking GOD! Stay faithful. and Stay calm. We shall see the salvation of the LORD JESUS ♥️♥️♥️

  33. Let us continually set ourselves apart from this world and from the practices that do not seek to please God. But let us hold fast to our truths that have been before us. And if we have any question let us turn to the word of God and the teachings for answers, not to the world.

  34. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LordGod, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

“There was an old prophet who dared to take a stand
For the prophets of Baal desecrated their land
Sleeping with the enemy while falling to idolatry
God’s chosen people forgot who they were called to be
So Elijah said “If Baal be God, then follow him
But if the Lord, if he be God
    Then follow Him”

    I’m sending the fire
    I’m sending the flame
I hear the sound of the abundance of rain
For those who would dare to call on my Name
I’m sending the fire, I’m sending the fire

So Elijah said, “Now I’ve had enough
I’m tired of you messing with God’s holy stuff
So let’s build an altar, prepare a sacrifice
We’re gonna see who is God
We’re gonna see who’s the Christ
And the God who answers by fire let Him be God
I said, That the God who answers by fire let Him be God”
Now just like the prophets of Baal way back then

This generation has fallen into the same kind of sin
The money god, the lust god, the god called religion
    Allah, Hindu, Buddha, New Age
    We can’t make a decision
But the God who answers by fire
    Let Him be God
I said that the God, who answers by fire
    Let Him be God

    I’m sending the fire
    I’m sending the flame
I hear the sound of the abundance of rain
For those who would dare to call on my Name
I’m sending the fire, I’m sending the fire

There’s an Elijah generation that’s rising in this hour
Forerunners for Jesus filled with glory and power
Voices in the wilderness preparing the way
This is the generation that is seeking my face
For I am the God who answers by Fire
    I am your God
I am the God who answers by fire
    I am your God

    I’m sending the fire
    I’m sending the flame
I hear the sound of the abundance of rain
For those who would dare to call on my Name
I’m sending the fire, I’m sending the fire

    Fire, Fire
    We need the Holy Ghost
    We need the Holy Ghost
Fire“ // I’m sending the Fire // Eddie James

  35. And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord : and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

Let the world call on their gods but let us call on the one True God.
Who is your God Jesus or this world?
My God is Jesus I know him and he knows me.
We should always call on him when we are up and when we are down he is king over all.

  36. 7 And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Art thou that my lord Elijah?

Divine appointment!!! LORD that we may have the opportunity to have these divine appointments for your glory LORD!!! USE US OOOO
    JESUS!!! IN JESUS NAME!!!

“And Elijah came unto all the people, and said, How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow him: but if Baal, then follow him. And the people answered him not a word.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬
Will we stay silent or follow god I choose to follow god. What do you choose? Silent or god? That is my question. You should’ve chosen god. We as a church souls not stay silent. We should be loud and say god. I will always chose god. How about you in your everyday life?

  38. “And with the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord: and he made a trench about the altar, as great as would contain two measures of seed.”

“And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God.”
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:32,39‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We are the church and we need to be the church in this dark generation. There is too many people preaching and teaching the wrong gospel to the world. We must ensure that we are bringing light and leading people to the truth. We can not back out and be afraid in these times. We need to prepare for war and shield up and reach the lost souls. No time to slack but time to go to battle because the enemy wants to sift the world and change their way of thinking and lead them away from the truth. It is our job to spread the truth.

  39. 30 And Elijah said unto all the people, Come near unto me. And all the people came near unto him. And he repaired the altar of the Lord that was broken down.

When the cross doesn’t weigh anything it is easy to say that you’re a Christian. We notice that the first thing that the man of God did was to replace the altar of the of the Lord that was broken down. What is the altar? Simply the place where your sacrifice is laid. When men walks away from the things of God they no longer bring anything to the altar. No more sacrifice of time, talent and treasures. Nothing is laid there anymore. No more offering, no more going to weeknight prayer much less weekend becuase you know… it’s a sacrifice. And soon enough going to the altar…or the place where the altar is at, church is not that important. That’s how your altar gets broken down. No longer in use. No longer needed or kept up in your life. The first step to getting the fire from the Lord is your life is to repair the altar. And then bring a fresh sacrifice. And we take notice that the man of God brought a great sacrifice since water was scarce in those time and he poured it over the sacrifice 3 times.

Repair your altar and bring your sacrifice and God will bring the fire in your life.

  40. 1 And it came to pass after many days, that the word of the Lord came to Elijah in the third year, saying, Go, shew thyself unto Ahab; and I will send rain upon the earth.

What faith Elijah had, he knew that they wanted him dead, but he didn’t even think twice and did what God told him to do. I want to have that kind of faith like Elijah and know that God has it all under control and know that if God be for me who can be against me. God let us have this kind of faith in our lives.

  41. 39 And when all the people saw it, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “The Lord—he is God! Yes, the Lord is God!”
    1 Kings 18:39 NLT

The Lord has proven so many ways that he is our one and only true God, yet many tend to see through it and say he is not and go worship other false gods. The Lord brought us here to become his people, that he would be able to use us in mighty ways, to be able to see that we can help save those that lost their way in this world towards him. As we grow more in the Lord daily let us pray that he gives us the wisdom and the words to go to those hurting everyday and help them find there way back to the Lord. To show them the love he has for them and that they can be saved and forgiven.

  42. 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

No answer from those that are between two opinions. Loud and rambunctious noise from those that are calling on other gods. Then the man of God rebuilds the alter and calls on God and great things happen.

  43. 24 And call ye on the name of your gods, and I will call on the name of the Lord: and the God that answereth by fire, let him be God. And all the people answered and said, It is well spoken.

There is only one God and his name is Jesus. He will always answer. Even when we don’t think he’s going to answer or even if we can’t hear him. The one true God knows all and sees all. When we focus on what God wants us to do, we can excel to the next level. Let’s not get distracted by the trials of life and start pushing towards the direction God wants us to go in.

  44. 38 Then the fire of the Lord fell, and consumed the burnt sacrifice, and the wood, and the stones, and the dust, and licked up the water that was in the trench.

This was a really good example of our prayer and worship! Our praises unto God should be given with a whole heart, and like a burning fire! We want our prayers and praises to consume the whole earth! We want to become stronger in His kingdom, to do His works!!! I pray tonight that as a church we are becoming better in the spirit to help others and this nation!!!

  45. 37 Hear me, O Lord, hear me, that this people may know that thou art the LordGod, and that thou hast turned their heart back again.

  46. 20 So Ahab sent unto all the children of Israel, and gathered the prophets together unto mount Carmel.

Our indecisiveness can cost us more than we want. We must listen to and trust that the Man of God in our lives, is leading us correctly.

  47. “Immediately the fire of the Lord flashed down from heaven and burned up the young bull, the wood, the stones, and the dust. It even licked up all the water in the trench! And when all the people saw it, they fell face down on the ground and cried out, “The Lord —he is God! Yes, the Lord is God!””
    ‭‭1 Kings‬ ‭18:38-39‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Elijah full of faith knowing that God can do all things came face to face with Ahab and the prophets of Baal to see who was the true living God. The prophets of Baal prayed to their god and nothing happen and Elijah having faith in God and pray fire came down from heaven and burn the bull. Just like Elijah full of faith in the Lord and was not ashamed to show everyone that God is the King of king and Lord of lord. We too have to show everyone in this world that Jesus Christ is the one true living God.

  48. The false prophet reward

40 And Elijah said unto them, Take the prophets of Baal; let not one of them escape. And they took them: and Elijah brought them down to the brook Kishon, and slew them there.

Keeping you mouth shut can sure have it’s reward. These false prophets should have studied to be quiet. Even a fool when he opens not his mouth seems th to be wise. But these poor prophets couldn’t help themselves. I’ve always wondered how they had so much confidence in a god that had never done anything for them? How could they speak so boldly when nothing had ever happened before? This is my question fir anyone who follows something else except Jesus…What has this god ever done? I’m glad someone showed my family the truth and we don’t live in ignorance to a false god.

  49. 7 And as Obadiah was in the way, behold, Elijah met him: and he knew him, and fell on his face, and said, Art thou that my lord Elijah?

We should be as Obadiah and fall in line to follow the spiritual authority our in our own lives. God has sent a Man of God to each of our lives. Follow whom God had appointed as s spiritual covering and guidance, for when we do good things will follow us.
