2 Kings 10

And Ahab had seventy sons in Samaria. And Jehu wrote letters, and sent to Samaria, unto the rulers of Jezreel, to the elders, and to them that brought up Ahab’s children, saying,

Now as soon as this letter cometh to you, seeing your master’s sons are with you, and there are with you chariots and horses, a fenced city also, and armour;

Look even out the best and meetest of your master’s sons, and set him on his father’s throne, and fight for your master’s house.

But they were exceedingly afraid, and said, Behold, two kings stood not before him: how then shall we stand?

And he that was over the house, and he that was over the city, the elders also, and the bringers up of the children, sent to Jehu, saying, We are thy servants, and will do all that thou shalt bid us; we will not make any king: do thou that which is good in thine eyes.

Then he wrote a letter the second time to them, saying, If ye be mine, and if ye will hearken unto my voice, take ye the heads of the men your master’s sons, and come to me to Jezreel by to morrow this time. Now the king’s sons, being seventy persons, were with the great men of the city, which brought them up.

And it came to pass, when the letter came to them, that they took the king’s sons, and slew seventy persons, and put their heads in baskets, and sent him them to Jezreel.

And there came a messenger, and told him, saying, They have brought the heads of the king’s sons. And he said, Lay ye them in two heaps at the entering in of the gate until the morning.

And it came to pass in the morning, that he went out, and stood, and said to all the people, Ye be righteous: behold, I conspired against my master, and slew him: but who slew all these?

10 Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the Lord, which the Lord spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the Lord hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.

11 So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.

12 And he arose and departed, and came to Samaria. And as he was at the shearing house in the way,

13 Jehu met with the brethren of Ahaziah king of Judah, and said, Who are ye? And they answered, We are the brethren of Ahaziah; and we go down to salute the children of the king and the children of the queen.

14 And he said, Take them alive. And they took them alive, and slew them at the pit of the shearing house, even two and forty men; neither left he any of them.

15 And when he was departed thence, he lighted on Jehonadab the son of Rechab coming to meet him: and he saluted him, and said to him, Is thine heart right, as my heart is with thy heart? And Jehonadab answered, It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.

16 And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord. So they made him ride in his chariot.

17 And when he came to Samaria, he slew all that remained unto Ahab in Samaria, till he had destroyed him, according to the saying of the Lord, which he spake to Elijah.

18 And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.

19 Now therefore call unto me all the prophets of Baal, all his servants, and all his priests; let none be wanting: for I have a great sacrifice to do to Baal; whosoever shall be wanting, he shall not live. But Jehu did it in subtilty, to the intent that he might destroy the worshippers of Baal.

20 And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.

21 And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.

22 And he said unto him that was over the vestry, Bring forth vestments for all the worshippers of Baal. And he brought them forth vestments.

23 And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the Lord, but the worshippers of Baal only.

24 And when they went in to offer sacrifices and burnt offerings, Jehu appointed fourscore men without, and said, If any of the men whom I have brought into your hands escape, he that letteth him go, his life shall be for the life of him.

25 And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.

26 And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.

27 And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.

28 Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.

29 Howbeit from the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who made Israel to sin, Jehu departed not from after them, to wit, the golden calves that were in Bethel, and that were in Dan.

30 And the Lord said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.

31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

32 In those days the Lord began to cut Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;

33 From Jordan eastward, all the land of Gilead, the Gadites, and the Reubenites, and the Manassites, from Aroer, which is by the river Arnon, even Gilead and Bashan.

34 Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel?

35 And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead.

36 And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.

  1. 30 And the Lord said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.

The Load will reward your work in the kingdom to your future generations to come, as long as they keep working in the lower kingdom.

  2. 2 Kings 10 Know now that nothing which the Lord spoke concerning the house of Ahab shall be unfulfilled or ineffective ; for the Lord has done what He said through His srvant Elijah.
    11) So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, his familiar friends, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.
1 Sam. 3: 19 The Lord is with Samuel
And Samuel grew, and did let none of his words fall to the ground.
There was Judgement on the house of Ahab.
    Jesus your all we need.

  3. 25. And it came to pass, as soon as he had made an end of offering the burnt offering, that Jehu said to the guard and to the captains, Go in, and slay them; let none come forth. And they smote them with the edge of the sword; and the guard and the captains cast them out, and went to the city of the house of Baal.

    26. And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.

    27. And they brake down the image of Baal, and brake down the house of Baal, and made it a draught house unto this day.

    28. Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.

He killed the idol worshipers, burned the images, broke the idols, and made the idol house a garbage dump…
If you want sin out of your life, don’t gently set it aside – completely eradicate it!

    Ecclesiastes 9:10
“Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might…”

  4. 23 And Jehu went, and Jehonadab the son of Rechab, into the house of Baal, and said unto the worshippers of Baal, Search, and look that there be here with you none of the servants of the Lord, but the worshippers of Baal only.

Even though jehu did not walk in the ways of the Lord, the Lord still used him to take down Ahab and all that had done evil in his sight and destroy anything and anyone that had to do with baal. But I really like this verse where Jehu spared anyone that served the Lord. He double checked to make sure that the people he was about to send out judgment on where those that followed baal. In the end, God will always take care of his people

  5. 16 And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord. So they made him ride in his chariot.

We all need a zeal for the Lord! A zeal to passionately drive our serving and relationship with Him! A zeal to seal our commitments and lead us to greater things in His Kingdom! A zeal to face every attack of the enemy and secure our hope in Him! A zeal to reach the lost and spread the gospel!!

  6. If you think you are living in a dark world, study this passage and you will see that there have been times in history that are just as bad, or even worse.

  7. Gods people were victorious once again. People worshipping idols were not. What a mighty God we serve. God gives us everything and listens to the asking of anything we want. Such an awesome God we serve!

  8. 10:29 however from the sons of Jeroboam
The son of Never who made Israel to sin
Hey departed not from after them, but to wit
The Golden classes that are in Bethel
    And that were in Dan.
    —-
His good acts were recognized. He obeyed
And he did what was written…
    But what about his heart?
He was not fully persuaded, he was not fully given to
Holy God. He did this and he did that…
Trapped in the valley of decision.
    He knew better .
🙏 let us overcome evil with good.
Let us be fully persuaded, and fully surrender to mighty God.
    We are anointed. 🙏

  9. The Lord’s words will come to pass even if it takes a little longer then we think it will but it will happen.
The Bible says if we sin or live for this world and not him we will die. The world today has taken this and said it will not happen look I do want I want and not dead but there soul is lost and if they don’t trun to him will die lost.
The same for us or the church walking a little in the world is sin no if or buts about it we must cleans ourselves of this world so God doesn’t have to judge us.

  10. 10 Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the Lord, which the Lord spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the Lord hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.

Jehu was God‘s instrument in judgment for this situation but he also came under Gods judgment for not wholeheartedly serving the Lord.

31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

  11. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Wow, there is nothing fun about judgement. As I read about the trap that Jehu set up, it seems to me as if it foreshadows the coming of the Lord. The Lord is going to see who is on his side. Will we “sell” out and take the mark because we will not be able to buy or sell, or will we stand for the King? Jehu was almost perfect in the Lord. He only lacked restoring Israel to coming back to church. Real church was in Jerusalem.

  12. 18 And Jehu gathered all the people together, and said unto them, Ahab served Baal a little; but Jehu shall serve him much.

My friend said something on Facebook yesterday that hit hard:::
“Sin wouldn’t be so attractive if the wages were paid immediately.”

That’s what Jehu did on that day. He made the wages of idolatry paid immediately. He destroyed idolatry to baal completely. He made sure there were no worshippers of baal left, nor any images. He cut it at the root. Imagine if that was done in our church to everyone that put anything above JESUS…. any game, any competition, anything above our GOD AND SAVIOR JESUS. I wonder if my illness could be consider a sin since it keeps me away from the sanctuary. I pray not. I am trying to act wisely according to medical advice but Lord knows I miss being present in the sanctuary with all of my brothers and sisters. I pray that we can be together soon in Jesus Name amen! So cut everything or anyone that keeps you away from Jesus. Cut it out from the root! Do not leave a stomp for they tend to regenerate and bloom again. Do not allow anything to hinder you from being with Jesus!!

  13. 30 And the Lord said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne

31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

We must serve God with all of our heart. There is no such thing as a little or big sin .
Jehu removed the idols physically he broke them down but he forgot one thing …..his own heart .
We can go through the motions of serving God but until we truly serve Him from our own heart and our own will we can not truly say we have given our life truly to God. We may read the Bible because someone mandates it . We may pray when in church because it’s the thing to do but serving God is more than surface religion. You can serve God with all your heart and find pleasure in doing it. A life of loving someone goes deeper than just taking the garbage out because it’s what is expected or cleaning the house and cooking dinner. The love comes in from the depth of the heart. It goes beyond actions and words but in attitude of those words and actions..Jehu did what was expected and God wanted to bless him but he could not completely turn away from idolatry. Jehu could not give all his heart to God ..,sadly he continued to lead Israel in sin. We may give up something but still have a love for it and never completely turn away from a sin that will destroy your life. Search me daily Lord as we truly serve you and walk away from the sins of this world let us not keep a love for them .
Jesus Be The Lord of all the Kingdoms of My Heart

  14. 31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

    32 In those days the Lord began to cut Israel short: and Hazael smote them in all the coasts of Israel;

All that Jehu did in the sight of the Lord, eliminating those that the Lord wanted gone, destroying the house and worshippers of Baal, and still he did not walk in the way of the Lord completely. We see the actions of Jehu did not go unwarranted by no means. His reign was only 28 years and he died because the Lord saw the truth in Jehu.

Many Christians today will only do enough to be saved in many others eyes and will come to church and play the part. But Monday through Saturday they will play the role of the world. They can justify their actions to meet their means, but God is not fooled at all. We have to be either sold out to the kingdom of God or we will be sold out to the world. The scripture tells us clearly, no man can serve two masters. We have to choose to either be all in or all out. There is no riding the fence and trying to be successful in both. Just like Joshua states as for me and my house we will serve the lord.

The Lord will be watching you and waiting for your decision on whom you will serve!

  15. “And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord. So they made him ride in his chariot.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭10:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Living a holy life is a matter of our hearts. Daily we make hundreds of decisions, but only one is important. …”choose you this day whom ye will serve”…Jeremiah 24:15
Every morning our eyes awaken to the mercy, love, and His grace. Our mind can begin to become cluttered by our thoughts tha can consume our time in living in the chaos of this world. But I must choose to first give Jesus praise. Worship the One True GOD. PRAYER. Reading His Word.
If I choose otherwise, my spiritual life is in danger. The book of proverbs gives all warnings throughout the book.
“My son, forget not my law; but let thine heart keep my commandments: For length of days, and long life, and peace, shall they add to thee. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: bind them about thy neck; write them upon the table of thine heart: So shalt thou find favour and good understanding in the sight of God and man.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:1-4‬ ‭KJV
We also see that the LORD GOD will always keep His word with Jehu. Though he did what was right as he had obeyed the voice of GOD. Somehow he lost his zeal. As with David, Jehu, and you and I we are weak without the Spirit of GOD we are weak when we make/do what is sin.

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”
    ‭‭Romans‬ ‭3:23‬ ‭KJV

  16. 30 And the Lord said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.
31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

Jehu did accomplish what God set before him and blessed him with r generations of kings, but he didn’t remove the golden calves in Bethel and Dan. These were still stumbling blocks to the people and his leadership caused the people of Israel to be judged. We can’t be double minded in God’s kingdom – We must not possess any idols!

  17. 30 And the Lord said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.

31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

Jehu destroyed the Baal out of Israel, yet did not remain faithful in following God but walked in the sins of prior kings. This reminds me of a double minded person. When they are at church they are “church minded” and want to do al they can to live for God, but when they return home, the atmosphere changes, they are no longer feeling the conviction of the Holy Ghost that is present in the service, and they have peer pressure, so they return back to their old ways.

As the Church, we must pray for those individuals that they will choose Jesus and the holy life style of separation and live successfully in the Kingdom of God. We must war for their stability, war for that they be rooted and grounded, not tossed about with every wind of doctrine, but their roots would grow deep and they would become established.

  18. 2 Kings 10:15-16 & 20-21
15)… And Jehonadab answered. It is. If it be, give me thine hand. And he gave him his hand; and he took him up to him into the chariot.
    16) And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the LORD. So they made him ride in his chariot.

    20) And Jehu said, Proclaim a solemn assembly for Baal. And they proclaimed it.
    21) And Jehu sent through all Israel: and all the worshippers of Baal came, so that there was not a man left that came not. And they came into the house of Baal; and the house of Baal was full from one end to another.
VS. 21 in the MSG says, “Jehu then summoned everyone in Israel. Them came in droves – every worshipper of Baal in the country. Nobody stayed home. They came and packed the temple of Baal to capacity.”

This passage of scripture stood out to me and made my heart sad. (Especially after hearing the Word of God last night.) It made me think about all the Sundays sports (football, baseball, basketball, hockey, etc…) are being played in stadiums, and when you see them, these stadiums are “packed to capacity – full from one end to another.” “Nobody Stays Home.” YET the house of God – the church – is not. “People stay home.”

What’s happened to our Zeal (our passion, love, fire, enthusiasm, energy, zest) for God.
Jehu told Jehonadab to give him his hand, and he took him into his chariot. He wanted him to “Come” with him to see his “Zeal” for the LORD.
As Pastor asked us last night, when was the last time we asked someone to “Come” to church with us, and we brought them in our car?

Also, it’s time to Assemble ourselves together (Heb.10:25).
It’s time to GO out into the highways and hedges, and compel people to come in, that the LORD’s house – the church- might be filled (St. Luke 14:23). Filled to Capacity – from one end to another.

  19. LIVE-GIVE JESUS2
    REPENTED BUT NOT COMMITTED

The dreadful end of an halfhearted life for GOD. Jehu attempted the easy believe path to serve GOD. Where they try to keep score of being a “good person” and obedient in some areas but not all.

Jehu no doubt gloried in the fact that he destroyed Baal out of Israel and that he slew all of the house of Ahab. But, Jehu lacked ONE thing. “The GOLDEN Calf”.

I have heard the term “The Golden Calf” all of my life and my perception of its meaning is that an item, object, person or principal is an idol or unmovable desire.

GOLDEN CALF – (in the Bible) an image of gold in the shape of a calf, made by Aaron in response to the Israelites’ plea for a god while they awaited Moses’ return from Mount Sinai, where he was receiving the Ten Commandments (Exod. 32).
a false god, especially wealth as an object of worship.

Jehu had the mind to destroy man but not the heart to destroy idols. We must be very prayerful that we serve JESUS with Mind and Heart. Cut off evil people in our lives and destroy idols in our life.

  20. 2 Kings Chapter 10

God blessed all that King Jehu did in obedience to Gods commands. God then placed a blessing on the Jehu through the fourth generation. the 31 verse in 2 Kings 10 states that Jehu did not follow God of Israel but he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

What lessen do we see? Even though Jehu did that which was right in God’s eyes. The rest of his life was not lived in righteousness. That is why the scripturas state that we are to choose who we shall serve. We are not made righteous by our actions alone. It came by the sacrifice of Jesus that we may be washed in his blood through the baptism in Jesus name and the blood being applied to us in that baptism continues to keep us righteous. When we do sin we have have an advocate who is Jesus him self continually applying his blood. That blood is not applied because of our deeds but it is applied because of Jesus sacrifice. Let us walk humbly with our Lord.

  21. 31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

Hating one sin but loving another, Jehu followed the Lord as far as his interest would take him, but not as far as God wanted to take him.

When we do not serve God with our WHOLE heart, there will be areas of our lives that we willingly allow sin to leak in.

At that point, we are not fully walking in relationship with Him.

Be careful what you tolerate, it could lead to your downfall.

“Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.”
    ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭22:37‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  22. vss.30-31 And the LORD said u to Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and has done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.
But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the LORD God of Israel with all his heart; for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, who made Israel to sin.

I’ve never understood the mystery of righteousness . To me it’s a mysterious thing how can a human being be righteous.
We know folks too well.We know there’s not a person in this earth of being righteous.
It’s only a mystery of God that His Holiness lives in our hearts and we have no righteousness at all unless it is given from His throne and His hand.
Ohhh what mystery, outside you look alright but inside is where the problem is.

    1 Corinthians 4:1
Let man so account of us, as of ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God.

We can say I’m a steward of the mysteries of God.
We don’t have to choose to do like Jehu…GOD has left the choice for relationship to mankind; it is up to us. To separate from sin and commit ourselves unto God.
We have the opportunity to choose to receive the holiness of God into our lives and receive the benefits of its transformation with in.
    The choice Belongs to us.

  23. Verse 29 MSG “But for all that, Jehu didn’t turn back from the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, the sins that had dragged Israel into a life of sin—the golden calves in Bethel and Dan stayed.” Verse 31 AMP also says “But Jehu did not take care to walk in the law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart; he did not turn from the sins of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin.” Like Jehu, many people try and say they have done this, that or the other for the Lord; but, they still haven’t given their whole heart to Him. Turning away from sin is just that……turn from doing it, completely cut it out and do NOT allow it to stay in your life or heart as both will perish.

  24. 5So the palace and city administrators, together with the elders and the guardians of the king’s sons, sent this message to Jehu: “We are your servants and will do anything you tell us. We will not make anyone king; do whatever you think is best.”

Let’s us all be God’s servants. We are all needed in his Kingdom to reach the lost, teach bible studies, and pray for others. Ask Jesus, “if you can use anyone-use me.”

  25. “Now the rest of the acts of Jehu, and all that he did, and all his might, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Israel? And Jehu slept with his fathers: and they buried him in Samaria. And Jehoahaz his son reigned in his stead. And the time that Jehu reigned over Israel in Samaria was twenty and eight years.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭10:34-36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jehu had the energy and influence to truly turn the nation back to God, but his half-commitment to God left that potential unfulfilled and points to a lack of any real relationship with God. I don’t want to be half-committed, I want to have my whole heart committed.

  26. 28 Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.

Jehu was on a mission to get rid of all things related to the false god. God wants those that serve him to focus only on him. This is why we must be careful not to place anything or anyone before our God. Anything you give more attention to then God becomes an idol. Every idol is an abomination to God. We must worship Christ and Christ alone. When all of your focus is on God, you don’t have time for anything else trying to come in your life and take your attention away. Lets lift up the name of Jesus every chance we get.

  27. 31 But Jehu did not obey the Law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam had led Israel to commit.
    2 Kings 20:31 NLT

Are you 100% committed to the Lord? Would you be willing to change even to a point where you don’t want to but you will for the Lord? See when we serve the Lord or when we are living for the Lord we have to do it full heartedly and willing to sacrifice unto the Lord. Many times God has us go through trials to help us understand and grow more, for us to grow our understanding and faith in him. I pray we turn our lives unto our God, I pray we serve him full-heartedly and praise him daily, God can do wonders in your world without you even noticing at time.

  28. “But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.”
    2 Kings 10:30

“Be careful that no one fails to receive God’s grace and begins to cause trouble among you. A person like that can ruin many of you.” Hebrews 12:15

Don’t allow others to take you down with them. The worldly ways can become tempting to some. Keep Jesus first always!

  29. 30 And the Lord said unto Jehu, Because thou hast done well in executing that which is right in mine eyes, and hast done unto the house of Ahab according to all that was in mine heart, thy children of the fourth generation shall sit on the throne of Israel.
31 But Jehu took no heed to walk in the law of the Lord God of Israel with all his heart: for he departed not from the sins of Jeroboam, which made Israel to sin.

We can see here that the Lord is prepared to reward are good deeds, however it is the choice to remain in the will of the Lord which determines whether we receive the rewards.

  30. 2 Kings 10:30 msg
God commanded Jehu: “You did well to do what I saw was best, You did what I ordered against the family of Ahab. As a reward, your sons will occupy the throne of Israel for four generations.

Jehu actions were good and right, though his heart was not so..

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is long-suffering to usward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

  31. 10 Know now that there shall fall unto the earth nothing of the word of the Lord, which the Lord spake concerning the house of Ahab: for the Lord hath done that which he spake by his servant Elijah.

We should know who God. He will supply all of our needs, according to His will! We have to trust Him whole heartedly. When Crowder was here the choir sing a song and it went a little like this……” Trust in the Lord with all your heart His word won’t fail His word can’t fail.” I really was thinking about this verse and I went into consideration if I was trusting in Him with my whole heart. I pray everyday that His will will be the pathway of my life! I pray tonight that we are all trusting whole heartedly!!!

  32. “But Jehu did not obey the Law of the Lord, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam had led Israel to commit.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭10:31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

99 1/2 won’t do. We have to give 100% of our heart to God. Jehu did the work the Lord had for him but he still had sin in his heart. I pray we examine our hearts daily, making sure we are clean vessels for Him to fill.

  33. “In this way, Jehu destroyed every trace of Baal worship from Israel. He did not, however, destroy the gold calves at Bethel and Dan, with which Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to sin.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭10:28-29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We need to get rid of everything that is sinful because it can make a little vulnerable to the enemy. We can’t be vulnerable to our enemies it causes us to lose and lose touch of God. We must be fully submit in God.

  34. 2 Kings 10:26-29
[26]They dragged out the sacred pillar used in the worship of Baal and burned it.
[27]They smashed the sacred pillar and wrecked the temple of Baal, converting it into a public toilet, as it remains to this day.
[28]In this way, Jehu destroyed every trace of Baal worship from Israel.
[29]He did not, however, destroy the gold calves at Bethel and Dan, with which Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to sin.

We should remove everything from our lives that are not of God.

  35. As I read through this chapter I think of all the successful leaders in our community, the United States and the world that God is reaching for. Jehu was a valiant and mighty king but imagine what he could have been if he would have been 100% obedient and served God with as much passion as he had being a king. If we can reach those that are in authority already, the Kingdom of God will be greatly increased. Part of taking the face off revival is to reach for those above you as well. I believe we are going to see great men and woman of stature being saved and brought into the Kingdom of God.

  36. “He did not, however, destroy the gold calves at Bethel and Dan, with which Jeroboam son of Nebat had caused Israel to sin.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭10:29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God’s commandments are not to have any other gods before Him. Jesus is God let Him be Lord overall in your life. Let us live Jesus and do what God does and let us give Jesus telling every what we have heard and seen what the Lord has done. Be submitted to God’s word and depart from sin and let’s go tell everyone the goodness of Jesus.

  37. 28 Thus Jehu destroyed Baal out of Israel.

Jehu was a warrior. He went through destroying anything that was not of God. We are in the middle of a war and we must be warriors. Jehu not perfect causing problems for him . Yet we should be reminded that our families, church and friends are worth fighting for.

  38. 11 So Jehu slew all that remained of the house of Ahab in Jezreel, and all his great men, and his kinsfolks, and his priests, until he left him none remaining.

Ahab caused Israel to sin. Its noted in the bible and the wicked things he did. Now Jehu was anointed to be king and to perform judgement and cut away the house of Ahab which caused Israel to sin. He did just that utterly slow and destroyed anything that had to do with Ahab and the worship of baal and his worshipers. Now what is causing you to sin? What its causing you to be away from the Lord? Its time to rise up and cut its head up. Any idols in your life its tome to slay them cut them off forever.

  39. “But Jehu did not obey the Law of the LORD, the God of Israel, with all his heart. He refused to turn from the sins that Jeroboam had led Israel to commit.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭10:31‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We must follow the Lord with our whole heart. When we are transparent with God is when we can worship with all our hearts.

  40. “And Jehoiada made a covenant between the Lord and the king and the people, that they should be the Lord’s people; between the king and the people. And all the people of the land went into the house of Baal; and brake it down; his alters and his images brake they in pieces thouroughly; and slew Mattan the priest of Baal before the alters. And the priest appointed officers over the house of the Lord.”
    2 Kings 11:17-18

My God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
    Phhillippians 4:19 NKJV

Our Lord can give you a way to overcome the enemy. Jehoida made a covenant between the Lord and the king and the people. Doing Gods will is the only to live happily and safely in this messed up world today.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  41. “They smashed the sacred pillar and wrecked the temple of Baal, converting it into a public toilet, as it remains to this day.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭10:27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s time we take the idols of this world and flush them down the toilet! Where ever we walk we need to walk with authority tearing down every enemies camp in the name of Jesus!

  42. 26 And they brought forth the images out of the house of Baal, and burned them.

Be a leader amongst your peers and within your own life!! Tear down the idols and the wipe every excuse!! It reminds of the old song “Clear the Stage” by Jimmy Needham.

Clear the stage and set the sound and lights ablaze
If that’s the measure you must take to crush the idols
Jerk the pews and all the decorations too
Until the congregations few then have revival
Tell your friends that this is where the party ends
Until you’re broken for your sins you can’t be social
Then seek the Lord and wait for what He has in store
And know that great is your reward so just be hopeful
‘Cause you can sing all you want to
Yes, you can sing all you want to
You can sing all you want to
And still get it wrong, oh worship is more than a song
Take a break from all the plans that you have made
And sit at home alone and wait for God to whisper
Beg Him please to open up His mouth and speak
And pray for real upon your knees until they blister
Shine the light on every corner of your life
Until the pride and lust and lies are in the open
Then read the Word and put to test the things you’ve heard
Until your heart and soul are stirred and rocked and broken
‘Cause you can sing all you want to
Yes, you can sing all you want to
You can sing all you want to
And still get it wrong, oh worship is more than a song
We must not worship something that’s not even worth it
Clear the stage, make some space for the One who deserves it
Anything I put before my God is an idol
Anything I want with all my heart is an idol
And anything I can’t stop thinking of is an idol
And anything that I give all my love is an idol
‘Cause I can sing all I want to
Yes, I can sing all I want to
And we can sing all we want to
We can sing all we want to
We can sing all we want to
    And still get it wrong
Worship is more than a song
Clear the stage and set the sound and lights ablaze
If that’s the measure you must take to crush the idols
