2 Kings 12

In the seventh year of Jehu Jehoash began to reign; and forty years reigned he in Jerusalem. And his mother’s name was Zibiah of Beersheba.

And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the Lord, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man’s heart to bring into the house of the Lord,

Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.

But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.

Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

And the priests consented to receive no more money of the people, neither to repair the breaches of the house.

But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the Lord: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the Lord.

10 And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king’s scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the Lord.

11 And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the Lord: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the Lord,

12 And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the Lord, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

13 Howbeit there were not made for the house of the Lord bowls of silver, snuffers, basons, trumpets, any vessels of gold, or vessels of silver, of the money that was brought into the house of the Lord:

14 But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the Lord.

15 Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.

16 The trespass money and sin money was not brought into the house of the Lord: it was the priests’.

17 Then Hazael king of Syria went up, and fought against Gath, and took it: and Hazael set his face to go up to Jerusalem.

18 And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and in the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.

19 And the rest of the acts of Joash, and all that he did, are they not written in the book of the chronicles of the kings of Judah?

20 And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla.

21 For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.

  1. 2 Kings 12:14,15 But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the Lord. Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for they dealt faithfully.

    Matthew 25:24:45

  2. 2Kings 12:14,15

Matthew 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his Lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat and due season ? Blessed is that servant, whom his Lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

We must be faithful in Gods work

  3. This tells us that the Lord knows all. In these passages we are taught again that God sees all. To rob God is not an option. Money cannot be taken under false pretenses. To do things right is in Gods favor. I love POFW!

  4. 2 And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

It is good to do that which is right but to also to listen and hear the instructions of the leaders.
God created man and then gave man authority over the earth back in Genesis you say what dose that have to do with anything it has everything to do with it. As we live our lives we follow God and his word and guidance but we also have power and authority to do what we want and how we want to it is important to learn from others. God has put in leadership leaders that will follow him.
Think of this humans we are the only thing on this earth that creates our destiny. That can change where and how we are living animals are not able to build houses and drive cars.
So the question is today how are we living and who is instructing us?

  5. 11 And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the Lord: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the Lord,
12 And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the Lord, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

Even though later on people had plotted against and killed Joash he fulfilled his purpose that God called him to which was to rebuild the temple. What I like about this verse in this chapter is that they spent time collecting all of the resources and gathering all the needed supplies and giving it to the right people. Every person has a job in the Kingdom. It may be a stone mason, it may be a king whatever it is we are called to do it and God will bring our needs from others fulfilling theirs. We are all interconnected in the kingdom of God working

  6. . 15 They did not require an accounting from those to whom they gave the money to pay the workers, because they acted with complete honesty.

Complete Honesty it seems to a long forgotten thing in world we live in. We the people of God must have honesty integrity in order to Live Give Jesus 2.
Pride, and Fear are the two greatest elements that keep people from being honest. Why are we ashamed to say we need help why can we not be honest in also our giving into the Kingdom of God. Whether it is monetary or serving physically . It takes both money and physical strength to keep the temple of God the place of worship where people can come and find a true real Savior. Yet if they see people who gave no integrity or truly just how eat how can we lead them to Jesus. My prayer is that we are honest and daily allow God to be reflected in what we do. What this world needs is for each of us to just be full of the fruit of the Spirit and if we stumble be honest about it . It’s ok we are not perfect but striving for perfection. Building up the Temple of the Lord. This scripture says no accountant wow too many times people want to know where their money is going when they bring their sacrifice of offering. When I bring mine I leave it at the altar and have no concern where it shall be used . Live Give Jesus 2. It all belongs to Jesus anyway for without Him we would have nothing.

  7. 11 And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the Lord: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the Lord,
12 And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the Lord, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

Later on through this chapter, you see the consequences for not putting the work on the House of the Lord and the things of God. Remember no matter what, keep the House of God and the things of God in the highest regards and priorities!

  8. 20 And his servants arose, and made a conspiracy, and slew Joash in the house of Millo, which goeth down to Silla.

21 For Jozachar the son of Shimeath, and Jehozabad the son of Shomer, his servants, smote him, and he died; and they buried him with his fathers in the city of David: and Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.

Sometimes is hard to do things right and follow things according to God’s purpose. You might find yourself alone. It is better to be alone than accompanied by the wrong crowd. Here his own servants, those that were closer to him, backstabbed him. That’s one of the main reasons I really do not care for politics, for things in this world will continue to move with or without you. My mom used to say “A rey quitao, rey puesto” (king out, king in) The Only King that will last FOREVER IS KING JESUS!!!!

  9. 4 And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the Lord, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man’s heart to bring into the house of the Lord,

5 Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.

It is very clear that when you do for the kingdom of God you will be blessed by God. But when you do evil in his sight, you will be dealt with. The importance of the money that came to the priest was not as important as the condition of the house of God. Jehoash basically commanded the priest to not take the offerings and monies but to give it to fix the house of God. They obeyed in a sense that the workmen began doing repairs for the breeches and still they were not truthful with the amount of money coming in.

The intention here is for the Christian that is baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost should always put the house of God first. As the scripture tells us seek ye first the kingdom of God and all his righteousness. When we do that we will be blessed beyond measure. We must never give with the wrong intent. Our hearts must be pure and sincere. It’s time to give everything, our time, talented, and treasure.

  10. 3 But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

The high places should have been destroyed.

  11. “Around this time Hazael king of Aram ventured out and attacked Gath, and he captured it. Then he decided to try for Jerusalem. Joash king of Judah countered by gathering up all the sacred memorials—gifts dedicated for holy use by his ancestors, the kings of Judah, Jehoshaphat, Jehoram, and Ahaziah, along with the holy memorials he himself had received, plus all the gold that he could find in the temple and palace storerooms—and sent it to Hazael king of Aram. Appeased, Hazael went on his way and didn’t bother Jerusalem.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭12:17-18‬ ‭MSG‬‬

This passage here makes me upset. I feel as if Joash gave up and sold out his kingdom by offering all possessions he had inherited by the prior kings to give unto Hazael.
Wow! Will we sell out our salvation? Everything the Lord has placed into our hands, spoken prophetic words, the gospel, just to ‘appease’ the kingdom of this world.
I/we need to continue to make a stand and not waiver. The Bible says ‘a double minded man is unstable in all of his ways.’
Keep the faith in all things, keep trusting in Jesus and His word. Obstacles are put in front of you to sharpen and help you grow closer to GOD.

  12. LIVE-GIVE JESUS2
    GENERATIONAL BLESSINGS

18 And Jehoash king of Judah took all the hallowed things that Jehoshaphat, and Jehoram, and Ahaziah, his fathers, kings of Judah, had dedicated, and his own hallowed things, and all the gold that was found in the treasures of the house of the Lord, and in the king’s house, and sent it to Hazael king of Syria: and he went away from Jerusalem.

It is powerful to understand the revelations of The Kingdom of GOD are GENERATIONAL. Jehoash combined 4 GENERATIONS, (including his own) of Hallowed things as resources.

There are 2 major points that I see in this passage:

    1. We should always include the revelations of our Elders in establishing policy, procedure and preference.
    2. We should receive some revelations of our own from JESUS about HIS Kingdom.

We have a cloud of witnesses to guide us and a ever present help in time of need in JESUS. GO win today and lets share JESUS with our city and world.

  13. 4 And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the Lord, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man’s heart to bring into the house of the Lord,
5 Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.

It’s time to rebuild the House of the Lord: rebuild some good old habits and passions, rebuild some altars, rebuild some relationships, rebuild some commitments. Let’s not be found with folded hands or be distracted by things outside of His Kingdom. It’s time to get back to work in Jesus Name!

  14. Verses 2-3 MSG “Taught and trained by Jehoiada the priest, Joash did what pleased God for as long as he lived. (Even so, he didn’t get rid of the sacred fertility shrines—people still frequented them, sacrificing and burning incense.)”. This story makes you wonder, “what if”. What if Joash had destroyed the sacred shrines as he should have? Would the priest that he lead under his rule, been more astute in keeping the Temple of God up as they had been instructed? Later in Joash’s rule, would his own staff had conspired against him and killed him still? We need to make sure we destroy and get rid of ALL that is NOT pleasing to the Lord.

Ephesians 5:8-10 MSG “You groped your way through that murk once, but no longer. You’re out in the open now. The bright light of Christ makes your way plain. So no more stumbling around. Get on with it! The good, the right, the true—these are the actions appropriate for daylight hours. Figure out what will please Christ, and then do it.” Same verses AMP “For once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of Light [live as those who are native-born to the Light] (for the fruit [the effect, the result] of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), trying to learn [by experience] what is pleasing to the Lord [and letting your lifestyles be examples of what is most acceptable to Him—your behavior expressing gratitude to God for your salvation].”

  15. 12:14 but they gave that to the workmen
And repaired there with the house of the lord.
    —-
It’s not about the position, but it’s about
    Integrity.
Whatever I do, I must do it unto the Lord
With a pure heat. And clean hands.

  16. 7 Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

Taking care of the House of The Lord is very important. Joash was responsible to make sure Gods House was represented well.

We are responsible for our House of God. Every person takes responsibility for what is important to them. If we treasure the gift God has given us as a place of worship, then we should be particular about how the church is treated. Making sure it is represented well should bring pride to us.

  17. 7So King Joash called for Jehoiada and the other priests and asked them, “Why haven’t you repaired the Temple? Don’t use any more money for your own needs. From now on, it must all be spent on Temple repairs.”

A good warning from King Joash to his leaders, basically saying “you won’t get paid until repairs are done.” If something is broken-fix it. There has to be accountability of funds at church and in your home. Spiritually we all should be in rebuilding mode all the time. We are carnal by nature, so we have to rebuild ourselves to God, to stay strong spiritually.

  18. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Wow, some of the same issues we face today with folks not wanting to work. Thank God the heart of the people were turned towards the temple and the Godly leadership of Jehoiada the priest. This one priest alone help lead the entire kingdom into an era of righteousness.

  19. 11 And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the Lord: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the Lord,
12 And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the Lord, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

The Church, the heavens, and our bodies are the house of the Lord. The people that are the body of Christ have a responsibility to maintain the house of the Lord. This responsibility can be the Church building, other members of the Church, and our own edification.

  20. vss 17-18

This two verses spoke volumes to me .As well as the whole chapter, but what stood out was that the tithes do not belong to us.. it belongs to the LORD it is Holy because our tithes belong to the LORD,and not means to achieve our goals or satisfying our own needs, compromising or self aspirations as we see here with Jehoash.
People can be greedy for money, prestige , and intellectual standing. Whatever the focus, all greed ends in failure.
    So speaking of compromising ..
Proverbs 23:23 ” Invest in truth never sell it”

We should reject any doctrine that cannot be reconciled with the teaching of His word, and maintain our guard against heresy and love truth.
    Loving Truth is Loving GOD.

  21. 2 Kings 12:4-6, 11-12, & 14-15
    4) And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the LORD, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man’s heart to bring into the house of the LORD,
    5) Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.
    6) But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests “Had Not Repaired” the breaches of the house.

    11) And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them “That Did The Work,” that had the oversight of the house of the LORD: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the LORD,
    12) And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the LORD, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

    14) But they gave that to the workmen, and repaired therewith the house of the LORD.
    15) Moreover they reckoned not with the men, into whose hand they delivered the money to be bestowed on workmen: for “They Dealt Faithfully.”

    1 Thess. 5:12-13 says…
    12) And we beseech you brethren, to know them which “Labour” among you,…
    13) And to esteem them very highly in love for “Their Works” sake…

I just wanted to take this opportunity to “THANK EVERYONE” who “LABORS AND WORKS” in God’s House and Kingdom.
Thank You to everyone who keeps the LORD’s house clean and in good repair.

Remember: … Your Labour Of Love Is Not In Vain In The LORD.” (1 Cor. 15:58)

  22. 2Kings 12 7. Then King Joash called for Jehoiada the priest and the other priests and said to them,Why are you not repairing the Lords house ? Do not take any more money from your acquaintances, but turn it all over for the repair of the house. You are no longer responsible for this work.
I will take it into my own hands.
We all have responsibilitys in House of the Lord.
Lord I love serving you and helping we’re it needed.
Loving them Babies and teaching them and watching them grow up to be servers of your kingdom.
    Bless this world.

  23. 2 Kings 12:4-5,7
[4]One day King Joash said to the priests, “Collect all the money brought as a sacred offering to the lord’s Temple, whether it is a regular assessment, a payment of vows, or a voluntary gift.
[5]Let the priests take some of that money to pay for whatever repairs are needed at the Temple.”
[7]So King Joash called for Jehoiada and the other priests and asked them, “Why haven’t you repaired the Temple? Don’t use any more money for your own needs. From now on, it must all be spent on Temple repairs.”

Tithing- give to the Lord what belongs to him.

  24. 2 Kings Chapter 12

2 And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

3 But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

Even King Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all his days he failed Israel and the people and Idolatry continued allowing sin in the nation.

This error did not bring peace into the kingdom for the wages of sin is death and the next two kings were wicked,

The difference they had was law only but we have Jesus and the Gospel and a relationship with the King of Kings and Lords of Lords. This has brought peace, Joy faith, hope and love. It has given us freedom in Jesus. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed. May we walk in that freedom by obeying his commands. We are to continue to look up from where our help comes it from the Lord.

  25. 6. But by the twenty-third year of Joash’s reign, the priests still had not repaired the Temple.

    7. So King Joash called for Jehoiada and the other priests and asked them, “Why haven’t you repaired the Temple? Don’t use any more money for your own needs. From now on, it must all be spent on Temple repairs.”

    8. So the priests agreed not to accept any more money from the people, and they also agreed to let others take responsibility for repairing the Temple. NLT

If we don’t take responsibility and do what we are asked to do in the kingdom, we can be replaced by someone who will – do you want the blessings, or do you want someone else to receive them?

  26. In our lives we all have daily accountability. This is also for our jobs and for our church. Tithing is the first thing we should do, as this is the Lord’s money. We should volunteer in any area of the church that we can help in. Our church is beautiful and a lot of TLC goes into this. I thank all of the church people that have contributed to this.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  27. 2 And Jehoash did what was right in the eyes of the Lord all his days, because Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
5 let the priests take, each from his donor, and let them repair the house wherever any need of repairs is discovered.”

When we do right with the Lord we will have his favor in all we do. But when we don’t He will stop us where we are and make sure we fix the wrong. Breaking down or repairing our way with God he will make sure his children stay on the right path towards Him. We need to look over our life and see if there are any repairs that need to be made in our walk with Him in order to have that revival fire in our heart and spirit.

  28. “Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭12:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I thank God we have the opportunity to take care of His house. To pour into others with our time, our talent, and our treasure. I pray we give with a merry heart, not expecting anything for ourselves but eager and hopeful for what God will do for others

  29. 7 Then king Jehoash called for Jehoiada the priest, and the other priests, and said unto them, Why repair ye not the breaches of the house? now therefore receive no more money of your acquaintance, but deliver it for the breaches of the house.

Accountability is very important!!! When one fails the evidence keeps you accountable to the commitment

  30. 2 And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
3 But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

Many times we do as we are told, by our leaders, but we fail do take the extra steps that we need to, to walk in the blessings that Jesus has for us and our children. When we neglect things in our lives that don’t glorify Jesus, we can cause our children and others that look up to us, to become confused. The Word says that we are to forsake the very appearance of evil. The Word says that we are NOT to make provisions for the flesh. When we leave these things, we make stumbling blocks for ourselves and those following us.

  31. 2 All his life Joash did what was pleasing in the Lord’s sight because Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
    2 Kings 12:2 NLT

The Lord blessed those who do what is right, those who live for him truthfully and faithfully always. As we follow the word of the Lord, as we do the works for him never think your not being noticed for the Lord sees all your good works. Take a minute to look at where you are at, are you living fully for the Lord or only when you need something? You might receive the blessing you’ve been asking for but it might take a minute only for God to be able to make you realize where you are standing. Let us grow in the Lord daily, follow him faithfully and trust in him, obey him always and you will see God do wonders in your life.

  32. 9 But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the Lord: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the Lord.

10 And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king’s scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the Lord.

  33. 3 But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

The high places are not destroyed and the temple is not repaired. Two things combined that could make a tragic outcome. The king new that the most important things was to repair the temple. He put funds into the rebuild. Let us remember that we are here to expand the Kingdom of God in such we are to tare down the high places and ensure the temple or ourselves are a place for God to dwell in.

  34. 10 And it was so, when they saw that there was much money in the chest, that the king’s scribe and the high priest came up, and they put up in bags, and told the money that was found in the house of the Lord.

In this chapter I think it was trying to tell us that we can find great treasures in His kingdom. We must not seek after money or gold but being in His presence is the greatest treasure we can receive. Being able to know who I serve and trust is all I need! I will always do my best to trust and obey Him with my whole willingly heart! I pray tonight that we go into His kingdom and find the treasure he wants us to receive!!!

  35. 9 But Jehoiada the priest took a chest, and bored a hole in the lid of it, and set it beside the altar, on the right side as one cometh into the house of the Lord: and the priests that kept the door put therein all the money that was brought into the house of the Lord.

The people were willing to give. We must have a heart to give to the ministry. We cannot expect others to bless the church financial if the people that attend that particular church do not give. God blesses those that give with a willing heart. Allow God to work in your life by giving of your time and treasure.

  36. “Then Jehoiada the priest bored a hole in the lid of a large chest and set it on the right-hand side of the altar at the entrance of the Temple of the Lord. The priests guarding the entrance put all of the people’s contributions into the chest.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭12:9‬ ‭NLT

When God speaks to us we have to be obedient to His word and do what He says faithfully. When God sees we obey His commands He will bless you and work on your behalf. Trust with all your heart and do His will and will bless you and never fail you.

  37. But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

King Jehoash in verse 2 says that all his life did that which was right in the sight of the Lord. And in the last verses he gave away all the consecrated things along with the gold from the house of the the Lord. And in between we find this verse but the high places still were not taken away. It seems to be a high contrast between verse 2 and 18. Could it have been that it is possible to do the part, do what is asked, do what is required or mandated but still have no relationship? Why didnt he go to God for protection? Could it be because in his heart other “high places” were found. God was not at the highest place, higher than his fears, higher than his worries or anxiety, higher than his enemy… thus he resulted to take matter into his own hands or better said loose from his hands all that belong to the house of the Lord. One can do all that is right, but what hold the highest place in your heart? Think about it. Dont be fooled. It’s a matter of the heart. Its relationship.

  38. “But by the twenty-third year of Joash’s rule, the priests hadn’t done one thing—The Temple was as dilapidated as ever. King Joash called Jehoiada the priest and the company of priests and said, “Why haven’t you renovated this sorry-looking Temple? You are forbidden to take any more money for Temple repairs—from now on, hand over everything you get.” The priests agreed not to take any more money or to be involved in The Temple renovation.”
    ‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭12:6-8‬ ‭MSG‬‬

I’m not sure why, but they were not doing what they agreed to do. It wasn’t too hard, they just were not doing it. So, they were told to stop. They were corrected because of their neglect.

We can’t get mad when we are corrected. They still listened when they were corrected. They choose to obey when they were corrected. We have to have an ability to have a good spirit and repent when corrected.

  39. But it was so, that in the three and twentieth year of king Jehoash the priests had not repaired the breaches of the house.

Having integrity in the Kingdom is everything. If my Pastor told me he was going to do something I would expect it from him, and vise versa. If I was given a budget to do something at church with the money that was brought into the Lord’s house I would be expected to do it!! And I would think there would be some sort of consequences if I didn’t….
This priest told the king he would repair the house of God for 23 YEARS and did nothing….??

  40. 2 And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.
3 But the high places were not taken away: the people still sacrificed and burnt incense in the high places.

Even the king needed the man of God in his life to direct his steps. And while he served God and did right, he could have also removed the high places as well. We can live right today with God’s word and the direction of our Pastor and also do more for the kingdom.

  41. 2 And Jehoash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all his days wherein Jehoiada the priest instructed him.

In a day that right and wrong are skewed we need our leaders to be lead of God. Our leaders need a pastor. Jehoash was successful because he didn’t leave walking with God and listening to the voice of his pastor when he gained success. We see too many people get some success and never ask their spiritual leader for direction again. We must stay covered and let God lead is no matter what position we have

  42. 4 And Jehoash said to the priests, All the money of the dedicated things that is brought into the house of the Lord, even the money of every one that passeth the account, the money that every man is set at, and all the money that cometh into any man’s heart to bring into the house of the Lord,

5 Let the priests take it to them, every man of his acquaintance: and let them repair the breaches of the house, wheresoever any breach shall be found.

When you give you’re sewing into something GREAT.
A church is built and made by the people. What you give and what you sacrifice is what makes up a church body. We buy food when we go to the store and we pay a doctor when were sick, we buy medicine when we need it and we buy water to drink and shower and cook.. Giving to the church shouldn’t be a problem especially when what you’re sewing could be what keeps the lights on and sets the environment for someone to receive the holy ghost. God is using you!

  43. 11 And they gave the money, being told, into the hands of them that did the work, that had the oversight of the house of the Lord: and they laid it out to the carpenters and builders, that wrought upon the house of the Lord,
12 And to masons, and hewers of stone, and to buy timber and hewed stone to repair the breaches of the house of the Lord, and for all that was laid out for the house to repair it.

Some of us may not have the talent, but we do have the ability to give! If we can’t do what needs done to the house of the Lord, we can always give to the cause. There is always a way to pay for repairs and upgrades. Let’s do what each of us can do.
