2 Chronicles 24

Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Zibiah of Beersheba.

And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begat sons and daughters.

And it came to pass after this, that Joash was minded to repair the house of the Lord.

And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.

And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said unto him, Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the collection, according to the commandment of Moses the servant of the Lord, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tabernacle of witness?

For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the Lord did they bestow upon Baalim.

And at the king’s commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of the Lord.

And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the Lord the collection that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.

10 And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.

11 Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king’s office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king’s scribe and the high priest’s officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance.

12 And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the Lord, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the Lord, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the Lord.

13 So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it.

14 And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, whereof were made vessels for the house of the Lord, even vessels to minister, and to offer withal, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the Lord continually all the days of Jehoiada.

15 But Jehoiada waxed old, and was full of days when he died; an hundred and thirty years old was he when he died.

16 And they buried him in the city of David among the kings, because he had done good in Israel, both toward God, and toward his house.

17 Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.

18 And they left the house of the LordGod of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.

19 Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the Lord; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.

20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the Lord, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the Lord, he hath also forsaken you.

21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the Lord.

22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The Lord look upon it, and require it.

23 And it came to pass at the end of the year, that the host of Syria came up against him: and they came to Judah and Jerusalem, and destroyed all the princes of the people from among the people, and sent all the spoil of them unto the king of Damascus.

24 For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the Lorddelivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.

25 And when they were departed from him, (for they left him in great diseases,) his own servants conspired against him for the blood of the sons of Jehoiada the priest, and slew him on his bed, and he died: and they buried him in the city of David, but they buried him not in the sepulchres of the kings.

26 And these are they that conspired against him; Zabad the son of Shimeath an Ammonitess, and Jehozabad the son of Shimrith a Moabitess.

27 Now concerning his sons, and the greatness of the burdens laid upon him, and the repairing of the house of God, behold, they are written in the story of the book of the kings. And Amaziah his son reigned in his stead.

  1. 1 Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Zibiah of Beersheba.

2 And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

3 And Jehoiada took for him two wives; and he begat sons and daughters.

Joash did what was right as long as Jehoiada the priest was alive. As long we are continuing allow ourselves to surround ourselves with Godly people, and the word of God. We will be OK.

    A.L.M.A.S.

  2. Verses 17-19 MSG “But after the death of Jehoiada things fell apart. The leaders of Judah made a formal presentation to the king and he went along with them. Things went from bad to worse; they deserted The Temple of God and took up with the cult of sex goddesses. An angry cloud hovered over Judah and Jerusalem because of this sin. God sent prophets to straighten them out, warning of judgment. But nobody paid attention.” I have a hard time understanding how easily people can turn from good to evil, how they can just go along with it. In verse 2 MSG it says “Taught and trained by Jehoiada the priest, Joash did what pleased God throughout Jehoiada’s lifetime”; but, as soon as he was gone everything went haywire. Joash deliberately walked away from God’s commandments and disrespected all that loyal Jehoiada had done for him by actually giving the order to kill his son. We must pay attention and heed the warnings by staying close to the man of God in your life; but, at some point you must grow up…..standing strong for yourself in doing right in the eyes of the Lord.

  3. 2. And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest.

    17. Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.

    18. And they left the house of the Lord God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.

All those years Joash had with Jehoiada, he never established his own solid walk with God.

We aren’t going to ride to Heaven on anyone else’s coat-tails; we each must have our own relationship with God.
Who are we when our Jehoiada is not around?

  4. 2 Chron. 24::20. Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest, who stood over the people, and said to them, Thus says God: Why do you transgress the commandments of the Lord so that you cannot prosper?
Because you have forsaken the Lord, He had forsaken you.
We should count our blessings each day , and never forget what he has done for each of us.
    He is way and waymaker.
Obey and be Obeintance through prayer and fasting!
Deliverance and staying save is what that is important more than anything.
Because anything can happen in Jesus name.

  5. Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king’s office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king’s scribe and the high priest’s officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Well there’s a lot of bad stigma from the world about the church and giving money, whether it’s because of some watered down preacher who keeps asking for it or another preacher who lives in a big house people tend to think that all churches are like that and just hungry after money. When the truth is the Bible even says about money answering all things and the importance of using the resources. Hearing this chapter and verse we see that the people came together to use their money to rebuild the Temple. When the people can get past that barrier it allows those offerings to be used to advance the kingdom of God

  6. “Now after the death of Jehoiada the leaders of Judah came and bowed down to the king. And the king listened to them. Therefore they left the house of the LORD God of their fathers, and served wooden images and idols; and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem because of their trespass. Yet He sent prophets to them, to bring them back to the LORD; and they testified against them, but they would not listen.”
    ‭‭II Chronicles‬ ‭24:17-19‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Jehoiada’s influence on Joash must not have been all that strong. Because soon after his death Joash turned to idolatry and would not listen to the prophets that were sent to bring them back to the lord. This makes me wonder if Joash was really committed to walking with the Lord when Jehoiada was alive or was he just going through the motions.

  7. 24:19 yet he sent prophets to them
To bring them again unto the lord
And they testify against them, but they
    Would not give ear.
    ——
Praise God 🙌 because after a while of being gone
( church body) they are coming back.
🙏 praying for those who knows the truth
Or some truth, and still refuses to hear
What the Spirit is saying to the church
And choosing not to come back.
    Hallelujah.
For the Lord does not want anyone to perish
But that they may come to repentance.
    In Jesus name.

  8. It just seems like Israel keeps forgetting that God is a jealous God. They serve God for a bit and then when things are getting better they forget and go back to idolatry. They just don’t learn their lesson.
Exodus 20:2. I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

The word of God said it simple and to the point. NOTHING should be before Him!!!! He should be the first thing we think of in the morning and the last thing when the day is gone. Our first and only love should always be JESUS!!! Only then can our lives be fruitful.

  9. 19 Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the Lord; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.

Sometimes when we have been slipping away from God he sends someone who can help you. But most of the time we don’t realize it because we were to far away and to deep in what the world has to offer. But good thing is that we can’t resist God forever.

  10. That was how King Joash repaid Jehoiada for his loyalty—by killing his son. Zechariah’s last words as he died were, “May the Lord see what they are doing and avenge my death!”
    2 Chronicles 24:22 NLT

    https://bible.com/bible/116/2ch.24.22.NLT

That’s how easy it is to get side tracked and influenced by the world. That’s how easy it is to lose grip on the Word of God in your life if you let it. I had someone I care about deeply fall away from the Lord because they let the cares of this life and the influences of this world be the voice in their life. I hold on to You, my King.
My GOD is louder than the noise of many waters.

  11. 0 Then the Spirit of God moved Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest to speak up: “God’s word: Why have you deliberately walked away from God’s commandments? You can’t live this way! If you walk out on God, he’ll walk out on you.”

21-22 But they worked out a plot against Zechariah, and with the complicity of the king—he actually gave the order!—they murdered him, pelting him with rocks, right in the court of The Temple of God. That’s the thanks King Joash showed the loyal Jehoiada, the priest who had made him king. He murdered Jehoiada’s son. Zechariah’s last words were, “Look, God! Make them pay for this!”

God gave these people a chance to repent .
    But sadly they did not.
They deliberately walked away from God.
I do not understand how people deliberately walk away from God. This is one thing I have never understood. A God who truly cares and loves us so much . A God who has saved people from so many things and spared them from so many things yet they walk away. I pray that this week backsliders will return with their hearts open to be renewed. God is calling all of us and He truly is reaching . I pray those who have left the body if Christ for whatever reasons will have their hearts softened and come back into the body. We must welcome each one with open arms and pray that do not wait until it is too late and they are destroyed with this world of sin . In Jesus name . Renew and heal and restore life to each person who has deliberately walked away from You God . In Jesus name.

    Hebrews 10:26-29 ESV
For if we go on sinning deliberately after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins, but a fearful expectation of judgment, and a fury of fire that will consume the adversaries. Anyone who has set aside the law of Moses dies without mercy on the evidence of two or three witnesses. How much worse punishment, do you think, will be deserved by the one who has spurned the Son of God, and has profaned the blood of the covenant by which he was sanctified, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?

  12. 20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the Lord, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the Lord, he hath also forsaken you.

21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the Lord.

22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The Lord look upon it, and require it.

Zechariah was stoned for standing up and preaching the Word of the Lord to the people. In this day we are living in, we must be as bold as Zechariah and share the Gospel, no matter the cost!

  13. 21 And they conspired against him, and stoned him with stones at the commandment of the king in the court of the house of the Lord.
22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The Lord look upon it, and require it.

The Lord did look upon Joash and the murder of the priests son and the king reaped what he sowed. It amazes me how quick the king went from repairing the temple to idolatry after Jehoiada died-he wasn’t rooted and grounded in the doctrines of God. He took the path of those around him and led Israel to judgement once again. It matters who we associate with.

  14. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Wow, what a sad story. The King was basically living on the faith of the priest. As long as the priest lived, Joash did the right thing, but just as soon as the priest passes away…BOOM, here comes the backslidden king. A lot of people today live on the backs of others faith. I can think of 5 families right off the bat who lived off the faith of a fellow family member. It wasn’t long after the moms died (2 different moms died) that all 5 families turned away from the Lord.

We can not live off the faith of a family member, We must have a personal relationship of our own.

  15. “And at the king’s commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of the Lord. And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the Lord the collection that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness. And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭24:8-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When the people were asked to bring money they didn’t do it with a grudge. They rejoiced! They came and they gave two great cause.

  16. 2 Chronicles 24:5,10
[5]He summoned the priests and Levites and gave them these instructions: “Go to all the towns of Judah and collect the required annual offerings, so that we can repair the Temple of your God. Do not delay!” But the Levites did not act immediately.
[10]This pleased all the leaders and the people, and they gladly brought their money and filled the chest with it.

Give unto the Lord what belongs to him. With your tithe, obedience and submission to the Lord you will be blessed.

    Thank you Jesus

  17. AMP – 9 Then they made a proclamation in Judah and Jerusalem to bring in for the Lord the tax that Moses the servant of God imposed on Israel in the wilderness. 10 All the officers and all the people rejoiced and brought their tax and dropped it into the chest until they had finished [and the chest was full]. 11 It came about that whenever the Levites brought the chest to the king’s official, and whenever they saw that there was a large amount of money, the king’s secretary and the chief priest’s representative would come and empty the chest, and take it, and return it to its place. They did this day after day and collected a large amount of money. 12 The king and Jehoiada gave it to those who did the work of the service of the house of the Lord; and they would hire masons and carpenters (craftsmen) and also those who worked in iron and bronze to repair and restore the house of the Lord

This is how it is supposed to work at the House of the Lord If everyone will do their part in bringing their tithes and offerings to the storehouse, the needs of the church and the staff will be supplied. It was never intended that few supply all the needs, while many keep their monies to themselves. If everyone will do that which the Lord has instructed the needs would be met, and people would be blessed and it would just be a circle that never ends. The people give, the Lord blessed. You can never out give GOD, as long as you are doing it with a cheerful, willing heart.

  18. “So now the king ordered a chest to be made and set outside the gate leading to the Temple of the Lord.

This pleased all the leaders and the people, and they gladly brought their money and filled the chest with it.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭24:8, 10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

A cheerful giver! When it comes to giving to the church, that is not the time to get clammed up but a time for us to be excited. It’s like serving during service – We don’t have to serve rather we get to serve. Our mindset should be we get to give an offering. I pray we get excited about worshiping through our finances!

  19. 22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The Lord look upon it, and require it.

The very moment that you forget when the Lord shows you mercy and the kindness that you show others and they show mercy and kindness to you. How is it that Joash did not remember the kindness that Jehoiada showed kindness toward Joash. When he did not show it forth to Zechariah but stoned him and killed him. The lord allowed the armies of Syria to come in and kill the princes of the city. But many of the things that Joash done was not right in the eyes of the Lord.

We have to look into our positions and the responsibilities that came with it to how we are to serve not only God but others that come into the church. We are to serve others as we would serve ourselves. We have to give everything back to the house of God. We must not forget where God has brought us from and what he done for us. It is a love that no one else can show us, it’s full of grace and mercy. We have the responsibility to live and give Jesus until Jesus returns for his bride.

  20. 17But after Jehoiada’s death, the leaders of Judah came and bowed before King Joash and persuaded him to listen to their advice. 18They decided to abandon the Temple of the LORD, the God of their ancestors, and they worshiped Asherah poles and idols instead! Because of this sin, divine anger fell on Judah and Jerusalem.

The leaders were able to easily convince King Joash to turn away from God and worship other gods. Apparently Joash was not deep rooted with God’s word. He couldn’t withstand the attack of the enemy, which were his own leaders. We all must guard ourselves against the enemy, our closest friends and relatives can convince you too. Stay in deep rooted in the Word, and be ready to fight the enemy.

  21. 10 “This pleased all the leaders and the people, and they gladly brought their money and filled the chest with it.” NLT

We all love to do the things we love. We don’t mind doing activities that bring us joy. The verse says they were pleased, and gladly brought their money. I pray we all come to the understanding of the true joy it is to be able to give to the House of God. That it’s not another bill but and opportunity to be apart of His Kingdom.

  22. LIVE-GIVE JESUS2
DONT IGNORE THE VOICE OF THE PROPHET

18 And they left the house of the Lord God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.
19 Yet he sent prophets to them, to bring them again unto the Lord; and they testified against them: but they would not give ear.

The Grace and Mercy of GOD is demonstrated here in the Old Testament. GOD is Love and even HIS acts of judgement are demonstrated in Love. GOD loved the people so that he sent messengers, preachers, prophets and evangelists to lead and guide us back to the LORD. The choice is ours if we will hear or not, give ear and heed their warnings and instructions.

This chapter reveals the obvious end to those who choose not to heed instructions from the Ministry.

24 For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the Lord delivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers.

JESUS allowed a small company of men to destroy the people of GOD. With GOD on their side they would have no doubt withstood the attack of the small company of men.

  23. 20 And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the Lord, that ye cannot prosper? because ye have forsaken the Lord, he hath also forsaken you.

I believe that this is an excellent verse to refute the doctrine of once saved always saved. Once the Lord saves us we are indeed secure on God’s end, however the perseverance of our relationship to the Lord will determine if the condition of our eternal classification.

  24. 2 Chronicles 24

17 Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the king. Then the king hearkened unto them.

18 And they left the house of the Lord God of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.

I read this chapter and was disappointed with the King Joash for leaving the teachings of the high priest and all that he was taught. Then listened to the princes and went to worshiping idols and leading the nation back into Idolatry.

How easy sin besets us. That is why we must choose each day who we shall serve Jesus or the devil. Joshua 24:15 Unlike them we serve a living God that come to earth as an infant. Who walked on earth and was perfect in every way. Jesus loves us now and then and made us away to be free in Him. He also gave us the His Spirit to live in us.
We see many after baptism receiving this gift Holy Spirit of power and direction to live in us and help us remember that He that is greater is in us is and is greater then the one who is in the world. 1John 4:4. I I praise his name. Jesus my Savior, Lord , and soon coming King.

  25. I am reminded of Matthew 25:23; “Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things”. God blesses his children with more when we manage well with a little. It’s passing the small tests in financial accountability that affords us larger opportunities. Joash, realized his responsibility and duty to restore the temple of God. He surrounded himself with people of knowledge; priests, Levites and chief Jehoiada.

Wise money managers do not do just enough to get by; rather, they go the extra mile to avoid any criticism in the misappropriation of funds. 2 Corinthians 8:20-21; “We want to avoid any criticism of the way we administer this liberal gift. For we are taking pains to do what is right, not only in the eyes of the Lord but also in the eyes of man.”

It is possible for God to cause the money and materials to just appear by a miracle. Yet He chooses to almost always fund His work through the willing gifts of His people. He works this way because we need to be a giving people. 2 Corinthians 9:7: “So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.” Thus they did day by day, and gathered money in abundance: Through the careful and diligent administration of these freely given gifts, an abundance of money was gathered for the work. God cares not only that His people give generously, but also that their gifts be diligently and carefully administered.

  26. “Then the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah son of Jehoiada the priest. He stood before the people and said, “This is what God says: Why do you disobey the Lord’s commands and keep yourselves from prospering? You have abandoned the Lord, and now he has abandoned you!””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭24:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God tried to warn them through Zechariah. He was the priest. The words that he spoke to them were not his own, but the Words the Spirit of the LORD had given him for them. There has always been a Zechariah, who will endanger his own life to bring the message of truth to the people. He was trying to cause them to repent, and return to the LORD. Many a servant of God, like Zechariah here, has paid with his life to bring the truth.

  27. 10 And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.

There is joy in giving and sacrificing to the Kingdom of God!

  28. “Yet God sent prophets among them to bring them back to the LORD; these prophets testified against them, but they would not listen.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭24:19‬ ‭AMP

As a parent seeing their children walk away fro truth is painful. Tears, restless nights, etc. This emotional roller coasters eventually will come to end when you stop dwelling on the pain. The most important things in life is The Kingdom of GOD, preaching the gospel, and reaching for S.O.U.L.S / A.L.M.A.S

The message has been preached, warnings all around. I’ve washed my hands, and continue praying.
“My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭KJV
“My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother:”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭6:20‬ ‭KJV
“My son, let not them depart from thine eyes: keep sound wisdom and discretion:”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  29. 2 Chronicles 24:20
“And the Spirit of God came upon Zechariah the son of Jehoiada the priest, which stood above the people, and said unto them, Thus saith God, Why transgress ye the commandments of the LORD, that ye can not prosper? because ye have forsaken the LORD, he hath also forsaken you.”

    • (Sorry, hit a wrong button)
They could not prosper (flourish, thrive, succeed, do well, be strong, be productive, be fruitful, etc…), because they transgressed (sinned, did wrong, went astray, disobeyed, violated, broke, etc…) the commands, the law, the Word of God.

Do you want to prosper? Read, Obey, and Live by the commands, the law, the Word of God.
Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”
Psalms 1:2-3 says, “2) But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. 3) And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

  30. Time spent practicing living for God is time wasted. One needs to jump in with both arms and both feet and live for God in truth not playing games. God does not have time for people playing church. The passages we read from today’s reading tell us this is what God expects. His arm is not short. God will deliver us from evil if we ask.

  31. 13 So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it.

They were working together to make sure God’s house was taken care of. They had a mind to labor for the ministry. When we forget about everything else and focus on Jesus, we can do great things.

  32. “Now after the death of Jehoiada came the princes of Judah, and made obeisance to the King. Then the King hearkened unto them. And they left the house of the LordGod of their fathers, and served groves and idols: and wrath came upon Judah and Jerusalem for this their trespass.”
    2 Chronicles 24:17-18

It is amazing to me how many people have had God in their heart and turned back to idols. In today’s world, we must learn what happens to those that turn their back on God!
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  33. 19 Yet the Lord sent prophets to bring them back to him. The prophets warned them, but still the people would not listen.
    2 Chronicles 24:19 NLT

The Lord is always with us even when we don’t see it or even sometimes feel it. When we lose our way the enemy always figures out a way to try to make you fully lose your way, but that is where the Lord comes in. God always has a plan, he will never let one of his children fall into the arms of the enemy. The Lord brings people in and out of our lives, but when we lose our way he makes sure he sends on of his strongest to us to help us fight and find our way back. I pray that if we know someone who has lost their way, that we reach out to them help them find their way back, help them remind them of who the Lord is.

  34. 5 And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.

We have to make sure that we give God His portion of our money. When we receive money, we are supposed to tithe off of it. The word tithe means ten percent. We have to make sure that God gets His ten percent off of our money. As mentioned yesterday all the money in this world is His! We can not be greedy and not give our tithes, because we will be cursed! Tithes and offering is very important to the church. We have an amazing church, but we also have bills to be paid.I pray tonight that we are all giving Him what he deserves, and more!!!

  35. “But after Jehoiada’s death, the leaders of Judah came and bowed before King Joash and persuaded him to listen to their advice. They decided to abandon the Temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they worshiped Asherah poles and idols instead! Because of this sin, divine anger fell on Judah and Jerusalem.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭24:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Who are friends? Friend should love and care for each other and the best to love your friends is by telling them the word of God. Lets influence our friends and show them the best love they can ever receive! Tell someone Jesus loves them!

  36. Masons and Carpenters

2 And the king and Jehoiada gave it to such as did the work of the service of the house of the Lord, and hired masons and carpenters to repair the house of the Lord, and also such as wrought iron and brass to mend the house of the Lord.

13 So the workmen wrought, and the work was perfected by them, and they set the house of God in his state, and strengthened it.

The mason has to grind up the mortar and mix the slime with it, then he chisels the stone out of the ground and brings it to the wall. He again chisels and makes every piece fit just right as he slimes each rock together. The carpenter hues down the tree, cuts the prices just right into the sizes required by the project. He holds the boards in place while he nails each one in place. Together these workman make a beautiful creation to honor the Lord. My question is… Who are the masons and carpenters in your life? Who can wield a chisel your direction to make you fit? Who can cut you to be sure your placement is correct? Who can fasten you to the house of God and who can cement you in place? We all need a pastor in our lives fir sure but we all need friends that can be masons and carpenters too.

  37. “But after Jehoiada’s death, the leaders of Judah came from and bowed before King Joash and persuaded him to listen to their advice. They decided to abandon the Temple of the Lord, the God of their ancestors, and they worshiped Asherah poles and idols instead! Because of this sin, divine anger fell on Judah and Jerusalem.”
    2 Chronicles 24:17-18 NLT

If we want to be living in light with the Lord, let us be compelled to leave our old ways. Do His will, especially in this time. The world wants us to sin, but resist the enemy and he will flee. Stay connected to the word of God and be with those that love God be obedient to His will.

  38. 22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The Lord look upon it, and require it.

May we remember always our spiritual father and take heed to his teachings and everything he poured in our lives. There are almost no words to explain this. How someone just turned completely away to everything he was taught from a young age.

  39. 5 And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.

6 And the king called for Jehoiada the chief, and said unto him, Why hast thou not required of the Levites to bring in out of Judah and out of Jerusalem the collection, according to the commandment of Moses the servant of the Lord, and of the congregation of Israel, for the tabernacle of witness?

7 For the sons of Athaliah, that wicked woman, had broken up the house of God; and also all the dedicated things of the house of the Lord did they bestow upon Baalim.

8 And at the king’s commandment they made a chest, and set it without at the gate of the house of the Lord.

9 And they made a proclamation through Judah and Jerusalem, to bring in to the Lord the collection that Moses the servant of God laid upon Israel in the wilderness.

It started out by them going and getting the money to the people brining they money. There is just something about the willing people coming and bringing that makes things happen.

May God rebirth with us the desire to bring the funds to the storehouse, bring souls to the storehouse, and bring ourselves to the storehouse. There are blessings stored up but we must come with something and leave with more than we brought. 😉 that’s a good deal!

  40. 2 Chronicles 24:10 And all the princes and all the people rejoiced, and brought in, and cast into the chest, until they had made an end.

    Give cheerfully and rejoice !!!!

  41. To give beyond our means because of an emotional pitch or sense of guilt is not pleasing the the LORD. His desire is for us to plan carefully in advance and give cheerfully from our ability.

  42. “And when they had finished it, they brought the rest of the money before the king and Jehoiada, whereof were made vessels for the house of the Lord, even vessels to minister, and to offer withal, and spoons, and vessels of gold and silver. And they offered burnt offerings in the house of the Lord continually all the days of Jehoiada.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

You’ve got to be a willing vessel in the house of the lord. One who is willing and able to doubting in his kingdom. You can’t become comfortable where you are. God desires for his people to work in his kingdom and have a willing heart. Be a willing vessel in your worship, your praise, and your giving. In all that you do be a willing vessel.

  43. 22 Thus Joash the king remembered not the kindness which Jehoiada his father had done to him, but slew his son. And when he died, he said, The Lord look upon it, and require it.

My GOD is faithful and JUST!!! Dont think for one moment that consequences for our actions have been annulled just cause we repent, there still are consequences for our actions and my GOD knows exactly what HE IS DOING!!!

  44. 24 For the army of the Syrians came with a small company of men, and the Lorddelivered a very great host into their hand, because they had forsaken the Lord God of their fathers. So they executed judgment against Joash.

It doesn’t matter how big your army is if you go the Lord on your side he will always be victorious. Remember when Lucifer was cast out of heaven he only took 1/3rd of the angels with him the rest are still on the Lords side. So when the enemy comes at you no matter what your circumstances may be he is always out numbered and God WILL deliver you!

  45. 5 And he gathered together the priests and the Levites, and said to them, Go out unto the cities of Judah, and gather of all Israel money to repair the house of your God from year to year, and see that ye hasten the matter. Howbeit the Levites hastened it not.

Our duty to help upkeep the church. Our duty to give not just once, but consistently.

11 Now it came to pass, that at what time the chest was brought unto the king’s office by the hand of the Levites, and when they saw that there was much money, the king’s scribe and the high priest’s officer came and emptied the chest, and took it, and carried it to his place again. Thus they did day by day, and gathered m

  46. “Joash was seven years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Zibiah of Beer–sheba. And Joash did that which was right in the sight of the Lord all the days of Jehoiada the priest.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭24:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

No matter how old someone is, they can still serve God and help lead others to God.
