2 Chronicles 26

Then all the people of Judah took Uzziah, who was sixteen years old, and made him king in the room of his father Amaziah.

He built Eloth, and restored it to Judah, after that the king slept with his fathers.

Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.

And he went forth and warred against the Philistines, and brake down the wall of Gath, and the wall of Jabneh, and the wall of Ashdod, and built cities about Ashdod, and among the Philistines.

And God helped him against the Philistines, and against the Arabians that dwelt in Gurbaal, and the Mehunims.

And the Ammonites gave gifts to Uzziah: and his name spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt; for he strengthened himself exceedingly.

Moreover Uzziah built towers in Jerusalem at the corner gate, and at the valley gate, and at the turning of the wall, and fortified them.

10 Also he built towers in the desert, and digged many wells: for he had much cattle, both in the low country, and in the plains: husbandmen also, and vine dressers in the mountains, and in Carmel: for he loved husbandry.

11 Moreover Uzziah had an host of fighting men, that went out to war by bands, according to the number of their account by the hand of Jeiel the scribe and Maaseiah the ruler, under the hand of Hananiah, one of the king’s captains.

12 The whole number of the chief of the fathers of the mighty men of valour were two thousand and six hundred.

13 And under their hand was an army, three hundred thousand and seven thousand and five hundred, that made war with mighty power, to help the king against the enemy.

14 And Uzziah prepared for them throughout all the host shields, and spears, and helmets, and habergeons, and bows, and slings to cast stones.

15 And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.

16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

17 And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the Lord, that were valiant men:

18 And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the Lord, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the Lord God.

19 Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar.

20 And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the Lordhad smitten him.

21 And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord: and Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.

22 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.

23 So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

  1. 19 Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar.

Pride is a hard pill to swallow, And some people are allergic to pride and they get in a mess. But the scripture tells us in

    Proverbs‬ ‭16:18
“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
    ‭‭
    A.L.M.A.S.

  2. “But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When our hearts become prideful it will keep the blessing and hand of GOD off from your life. Don’t ever think that your ‘success’ is because of your doing. We must always have a humble spirit to obey and serve in The Kingdom of our LORD Jesus. Exalt His Name in all things to bring Him Honor and Glory.

“Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  3. Verses 16-18 AMP “But when Uzziah became strong, he became so proud [of himself and his accomplishments] that he acted corruptly, and he was unfaithful and sinned against the Lord his God, for he went [b]into the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense. Then Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him eighty priests of the Lord, men of courage. They opposed King Uzziah and said to him, “It is not for you, Uzziah, to burn incense to the Lord, but for the priests, the sons of Aaron who have been consecrated to burn incense. Get out of the sanctuary, for you have been unfaithful and will have no honor from the Lord God.” Wow, do not ever think that you are all that and a bag a chips! Uzziah was unfaithful = not faithful: not adhering to vows, allegiance, or duty….untrustworthy. Transgressed = infringe or go beyond the bounds of (a moral principle or other established standard of behavior), misbehave, offend; sin . One commentary said “Pride of heart was at the bottom of his sin; a lust that ruins many”. Stay humble and remember James 4:10 AMP says “Humble yourselves [with an attitude of repentance and insignificance] in the presence of the Lord, and He will exalt you [He will lift you up, He will give you purpose].”

  4. 4. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

    5. And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.

    15. And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.

    Do you need strength?
Do you want some marvelous help?
Then seek the Lord Jesus and do what is right in His sight; never forgetting that strength comes from Him, not you.

    Ephesians 6:10
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

  5. But when he had become powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall. He sinned against the Lord his God by entering the sanctuary of the Lord ’s Temple and personally burning incense on the incense altar.
    2 Chronicles 26:16 NLT

We are often our own downfall when pride gets in the way. We can never forget to give glory where it’s due – to God! Be humble in your walk with God. Always remember what He’s done for you and He’s the one elevating you and blessing you.

  6. 2 Chron. 26: 15-16 And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers upon the bulwards, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.
    16) But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction; for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.
How sad Uzziah life was good and because of having pride in his life.
He because a leaper and having the leprosy on his forehead.
We can’t afford to have pride in our lives, because it will destroy our lives.
We must humble and obeinant to our Lord.
    It a heart matter.
Prov 5: 23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
For I will exalt you , and lift you up with a praise on my heart.
All the day”s of my life.

  7. 5 And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.

Later on uzziah lost his way and became power hungry ultimately causing his downfall and death but heavy continued to seek God for guidance and understanding I believe God would have continued to make him prosper. The only way to truly prosper in this world, and a godly sense, is to continue seeking God. No matter how high we go or how we’re elevate in positions we must continue to seek God for guidance. Using his resources to build the kingdom and allowing him to redirect us at any moment notice. Letting God lead us is going to be our foundational reason for growth.

  8. Pride and boasting are not a good thing to honor before honoring Jesus. Jesus does not like pride used for self! We continue to lean in our reading how pride and being full of ourself are downfalls and keep us from being where we should be in Christ.

  9. 26:21 and uzziah was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house fort he was
Cut off of the house of the lord
And Johan his son was over the kings house now
Judging the people of the land.

    Wow, what a tragedy.!!
After being so blessed by the Lord in different ways
He aloud his flesh to rule over him…
And that’s what happens when devotion and desire for the things of God no longer take first place
    In the believer.
His life has turned out pretty good, and
    Then so bad.

  10. 3 Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem.

4 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

5 And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.

Uzziah did what was right in the sight of the Lord as did his father. And the scripture stated that as long as he sought the Lord God made him prosper. That tells me that no matter what I come up against, the Lord will allow me to proposer in all that I do. I know God will begin to bless me as long as I give my all to him. It baffles me when people today have heartache and discouragement, they always want to blame God. But all the while they are not willing to look in the mirror and point fingers at themselves.

We have the best financial plan in the world, the more we do for the kingdom of God the more God will bless us physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. That is why it is very important to live and give Jesus to everyone that we come in contact with. Uzziah reigned 52 years and his name went out everywhere.

  11. But when he had become powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall. He sinned against the Lord his God by entering the sanctuary of the Lord ’s Temple and personally burning incense on the incense altar.
    2 Chronicles 26:16 NLT

Pride is so dangerous and is the root of every other sin.
Lord, I pray that You would continue to show me where there is any pride in me. I place myself on the altar so that it may be burned. Lord, keep us close to You, my sweet Lord.

  12. 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

17 And Azariah the priest went in after him, and with him fourscore priests of the Lord, that were valiant men:

21 And Uzziah the king was a leper unto the day of his death, and dwelt in a several house, being a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the Lord: and Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.

22 Now the rest of the acts of Uzziah, first and last, did Isaiah the prophet, the son of Amoz, write.

23 So Uzziah slept with his fathers, and they buried him with his fathers in the field of the burial which belonged to the kings; for they said, He is a leper: and Jotham his son reigned in his stead.

When you disobey God , he gives you what had been looking for . You wanted to sin and be greedy so you got what you wanted . God gave you chance after chance until you went to far

  13. “But when Uzziah became strong, he became so proud [of himself and his accomplishments] that he acted corruptly, and he was unfaithful and sinned against the LORD his God, for he went into the temple of the LORD to burn incense on the altar of incense.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26:16‬ ‭AMP‬‬

Uzziah let his accomplishments and power go to his head. He took the credit instead of giving it to God. He thought more highly of himself then he should have. That was his downfall. ALL glory goes to the Lord!

  14. 5 And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.

    Jeremiah 29
11 For I know the plans(A) I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper(B) you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.(C) 12 Then you will call(D) on me and come and pray(E) to me, and I will listen(F) to you. 13 You will seek(G) me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.(H) 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back(I) from captivity.[a]

  15. LIVE-GIVE JESUS2
    WHEN SUCCESS BECOMES FAILURE

The LORD has revealed many Leadership Principals in this chapter.

    1. Success creates confidence but, we must guard against arrogance.
    2. IF we always give GOD the Credit and Glory for success we WORSHIP HIM.
    3. Success in one area does not make me qualified for every job.
    4. Maintain spiritual operation in my qualified calling
    5. When GOD disqualifies a Leader they are finished.
    6. Listen to and heed spiritual Leaders.
    7. The pain of pride and the anguish of anger could last a lifetime.

Let us remember to HUMBLE ourselves in the sight of GOD as HE Blesses us with victories, strength and success.

    iPraise

  16. Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah, who taught him to fear God. And as long as the king sought guidance from the Lord, God gave him success.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬
Zechariah was a prophet of God, who understood visions that God gave. It appears as if he greatly influenced the life of Uzziah. He kept Uzziah seeking the will of the LORD. As long as Uzziah was obedient to the will of God, he greatly prospered.
    Let’s seek God daily.

  17. 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

The Lord lifts us up and empowers us for the calling he has placed in our lives, it does not come through the power of tje flesh. God made Uzziah a mighty man and made his name great in the land. When he allowed the pride of life to cloud his vision, he stepped out of God’s will and took on the priest’s authority to offer incense. No matter how great God makes us in his kingdom, we still have to obey his word and refrain from sin.

  18. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.

This is yet another example of the dangers of success. God helped restore (revive) the kingdom of Judah in a very miraculous way. God brought great honor to the king and his kingdom. God was fine with blessing the king as long as the king stayed humble. The issue arrived when pride walked in the door of the temple and attempted the steal the role of the priest.

We must all remember our roles. We must not allow pride to come in and deceive us into thinking we are someone we’re not. We have to stay in our role.

  19. 18 And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the Lord, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the Lord God.

Uzziah knew in his heart what was right and wrong, yet he put himself upon a pedestal to be equal to the high priest and that is bad place to be! His arrogance caused him to not be an outcast with all the other lepers, but also his actions caused him to lose out with God. Be careful of the choices you make… they could propel into your destiny or drag you to your downfall.

  20. 2 Chronicles 26:5 And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.

Proverbs 8:17 I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me.

God never forsakes any who seek him, and therefore man is the cause of his own destruction.

  21. 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

Why is that once God begins to bless and use an individual that pride rises up inside of them? Numerous times we have read examples of God blessing someone, lifting them up and then inquiry fills their heart and they lose out with God.

We must remember that God created us, gives us breathe everyday, and causes us to gain knowledge and understanding to help us in our daily lives. We must never forget where HE brought us from and that HE gave the ultimate sacrifice that we could even know salvation. Above all we must keep humble in attitude and spirit so that sin does not enter into our hearts.

Daily we must seek the God of Heaven and Earth to show us when we err and when we get out of balance with so that we stay on the path HE created us for. God blesses us to bless HIS Kingdom and to make provision for our daily needs. HE doesn’t bless us to become full of ourselves and think more of ourselves than we ought.

Proverbs 16:18 “Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.”

  22. 2 Chronicles 26:15-16
[15]And he built structures on the walls of Jerusalem, designed by experts to protect those who shot arrows and hurled large stones from the towers and the corners of the wall. His fame spread far and wide, for the lord gave him marvelous help, and he became very powerful.
[16]But when he had become powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall. He sinned against the lord his God by entering the sanctuary of the lord’s Temple and personally burning incense on the incense altar.

The Lord is our help. Don’t let pride take over you that it causes you to sin

  23. The scripture says that the Uzziah learned to do what was right from his father, and Zechariah.

We are blessed with a church family! We are blessed with different cultures, lives, and ethnicities that not only can build each other up, but help establish Godly principles in our lives, and the lives of our children.

As leaders we must remember the eternal impact we have on the younger ones watching us as well as the ones placed in our care.

Deut 32:30-31 “How could one person chase a thousand of them, and two people put ten thousand to flight, unless their Rock had sold them, unless the Lord had given them up? But the rock of our enemies is not like our Rock, as even they recognize.”

As a church family we are stronger when we stand together!

  24. “But when he had become powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall. He sinned against the Lord his God by entering the sanctuary of the Lord’s Temple and personally burning incense on the incense altar.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Many are great at handling adversity, few can handle success.

It’s the same concept as the parable of the talents. If he cannot trust you with a few, how could he ever trust you with many?

If we daily incorporate giving Him the glory for every little success we have, it will be easy to recognize the bigger things as blessings from God!

To be blessed, you must stay humble!

  25. 2 Chronicles 26
Uzziah, Uzziah, Uzziah. Don’t you get it man? You started out doing what was right in the sight of the LORD, and you sought the LORD. As long as you sought the LORD, God made you to prosper, and He helped you against your enemies.
    BUT (except for the fact)…
When the Ammonites gave you gifts, and your name began to spread abroad even to the entering in of Egypt (the world). Your head became swelled, and you strengthened yourself exceedingly. You built towers, you dug wells, you had an host of fighting men whom you built shields, spears, helmets, habergeons, bows, and slings for. You even made engines (invented by cunning men) that could shoot arrows and great stoned. You were marvelously helped, and you became strong.
    BUT (except for the fact)…
When you became strong, your heart was lifted up and filled with PRIDE, and you transgressed (sinned, erred, went astray) against the LORD, and it lead to your destruction.

Man, man, man. Don’t we get it? As long as we do what is right in the sight of the LORD and seek Him, He will proper us, BUT (except for the fact) the minute we become strong in ourselves, PRIDE sets in, and we think we don’t need God anymore, we can do it on our own. We transgress (sin, err, go astray) against the LORD, and it will lead to our destruction.

Romans 12:3 tells us, “…, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think:…”

The only reason we can ever prosper or defeat our enemies is because of GOD!!
So don’t ever think of yourself more highly than you ought to, because it’s all GOD!!
So stay humble before Him, and give Him ALL the glory for everything!!

  26. 5Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah, who taught him to fear God.b And as long as the king sought guidance from the LORD, God gave him success.

Always seek God. The more righteous you are, the more God will be there for you. You’ll have success with God, home, finances and family. Continue to put God first in all we do.

  27. 19

Pride, arrogance , and selfishness are motives behind boasting…which brings destruction. The psalmlist reveals that confession to God results in forgiveness and cleansing, which is an important key in our walk with God.

  28. 19 Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar.
20 And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the Lordhad smitten him.

Be careful not to anger the Lord Jesus Christ he is merciful but also righteous.

  29. “Sixteen years old was Uzziah when he began to reign, and he reigned fifty and two years in Jerusalem. His mother’s name also was Jecoliah of Jerusalem. And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah did. And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.”
    2 Chronicles 26:3-5

“But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.”

Uzziah was suppose to be consecrated to burn incense in the sanctuary. Leprosy rose up in his forehead in the hhouse of the Lord. He had to be taken out asap as he was not clean! He had to be cut off from the house of the Lord since God gave him leprosy as he was against God doing this. Some people get the “big” head after they get a promotion, a large inheritance, etc… No matter what happens in your life, follow God and stay with your Godly principals. As you see what happened to Uzziah for sinning.

  30. 4 And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah did.

Our prosperity comes from the Lord. When we no longer attribute our prosperity as from the Lord, but from our own merit, we sin against the Lord.

  31. 19 Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar.

Uzziah’s mistake was to not take heed to the warning. We can go so far being used by God and be aligned with Gods will. We can’t let pride get to us and feel like if we can just do what we want when we want outside of God’s will for our lives.

God will guide the steps of the righteous. Keep the righteousness of God guiding you and pride won’t have a chance.

  32. “Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Just as fast as God can do a miracle, He can also bring His wrath upon us. It is very important we don’t get too big for our britches. It is an honor to be used by God but make no mistake, we as vessels have no power by ourselves. It’s not by my power or by my might that miracles are done but by the power and might of Jesus. He has given us power and dominion, not us.

  33. In Jerusalem he made devices invented for use on the towers and on the corner defenses so that soldiers could shoot arrows and hurl large stones from the walls. His fame spread far and wide, for he was greatly helped until he became powerful.

His fame cause pride to arise in him and send him to a dark place. Notice how his inward conditions was made manifest outwardly. Our emotional and spiritual health is related to some of our health issues.

God desire for us to be in good health in our soul and body. Let us learn to work on ourselves inside and out to be all God has called us to be.

  34. 5 And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.

A very important part in this scripture is he prospered as long as he sought the Lord. When he thought that he was mighty enough to do things his way, he was stricken with leprosy. Don’t ever get to the point where you think you’re above what God has put into place. Stay humble and continue to seek the Lord and he will bless you.

  35. 7“God helped him in his wars against the Philistines, his battles with the Arabs of Gur, and his wars with the Meunites.”
16“But when he had become powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall. He sinned against the Lord his God by entering the sanctuary of the Lord’s Temple and personally burning incense on the incense altar.”
    ‭‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26:7‬,16 ‭NLT‬‬

In our walk with the Lord, we must remember who gave us all and who is blessing us daily and bringing us to victory in all of our battles. Stay humble to the Lord and your life with him, there is nothing more important that to knowing where your blessings are coming from and to give praise and thanks unto the Lord for all of it! I pray for each of us, for us to remember to give up our pride to let it go, and for our minds to go unto the Lord in praise everytime we receive a miracle in life, or when a blessing heads your way.

  36. 2 Chronicles 26

16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

due to the kings pride he thought that he could burn incense to God but
he sinned and the ones that brought incense to the Lord God was descendance of Aaron.

Let us remember that pride leads to a fall. May we remember that all the good blessings come from Jesus. We must walk in integrity knowing where our help comes from. It comes from Jesus. May we praise him for such help.

  37. 15 And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal.

    Pride came before the fall..

Many times we are quick to seek Jesus when we do not see ourselves as much, but when we do, for some reason, we tend to tell Jesus,” hand’s off”, “we got this”. That’s when we totally mess everything up..

  38. God helped him in his wars against the Philistines, his battles with the Arabs of Gur, and his wars with the Meunites. And he built structures on the walls of Jerusalem, designed by experts to protect those who shot arrows and hurled large stones from the towers and the corners of the wall. His fame spread far and wide, for the Lord gave him marvelous help, and he became very powerful. But when he had become powerful, he also became proud, which led to his downfall. He sinned against the Lord his God by entering the sanctuary of the Lord ’s Temple and personally burning incense on the incense altar.
    2 Chronicles 26:7‭, ‬15‭-‬16 NLT

It is by the Lord and for the Lord because of the Lord that we are and do what we do. The very breath that we breathe is his. The fact that we awake and move and live is a marvelous wonder of his love and mercy for us. For He gives us life. What we accomplish in this earth whether secular or for the Kingdom of God is because he has granted us the ability, the tools, the help, the open doors. May we not look to high on ourselves when promotion comes. For it is by God. May we always give glory to his greatness. All glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ.

  39. 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

God truly is amazing and a life saver! I could go on for a long time talking about how amazing he really is! All I can really say about this chapter is that the king had leprosy and he died. Things like sickness and stuff may stumble upon us but all we have to do is pray. One thing we must never ever do is blame God. This is not right and could get you in a bad position. When we do things it is with our own flesh. God doesn’t make us do anything, he has given us a chose. We get and chose to go to church! I pray tonight that we all recognize who we serve and the creator of all things!!!

  40. “Uzziah, who was holding an incense burner, became furious. But as he was standing there raging at the priests before the incense altar in the Lord’s Temple, leprosy suddenly broke out on his forehead.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26:19‬ ‭NLT

We can’t sacrifice the wrong things and get made when we sin. We need to sacrifice the sinful thing we do not thing we need. Sacrifice the lifestyle of sin.

  41. “Uzziah sought God during the days of Zechariah, who taught him to fear God. And as long as the king sought guidance from the Lord, God gave him success.”
    2 Chronicles 26:5 NLT

As we get older let us be drawn to the fear of the Lord which is the beginning of wisdom. Let our trust be in God who never fails us. Let us seek after his guidance for the Lord is our light and our lamp in this dark world.  Let us continue walking in the fear of the Lord daily and let our confident be in God. He will give us victory.

  42. 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

Success is a tricky and sometimes sneaky deceiver of great men. Like at the Tower of Babel when they were doing just fine and they were very successful, it became a curse when they tried to make a name for themselves, it was to their destruction. We see here that the king has made the same mistake. We have to be careful and prayerful about the intent of our heart especially when we get a little success under our belts. We have to make sure we remember that all good things come from God and to give Him glory for the success and blessings he has afforded us. We cannot forget where we come from and who we come from. Keeping humble through success creates respect from those who are following you and when that happens, they will push onward to even greater things. It is great to have much success but always know who to give the glory to.

  43. 16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

Don’t wait until it is too late to to ask God for forgiveness. Don’t wallow in sin and then expect to. . . Don’t waste your chance at life. Turn to God now. You know what to do and you know what is right.

  44. “Then Uzziah became furious; and he had a censer in his hand to burn incense. And while he was angry with the priests, leprosy broke out on his forehead, before the priests in the house of the LORD, beside the incense altar. And Azariah the chief priest and all the priests looked at him, and there, on his forehead, he was leprous; so they thrust him out of that place. Indeed he also hurried to get out, because the LORD had struck him. King Uzziah was a leper until the day of his death. He dwelt in an isolated house, because he was a leper; for he was cut off from the house of the LORD. Then Jotham his son was over the king’s house, judging the people of the land.”
    ‭‭II Chronicles‬ ‭26:19-21‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Stay in your place and stay humble. All honor and glory belongs to God. He is the only one that gives us the wisdom and strength to have the victory

  45. 15 And he made in Jerusalem engines, invented by cunning men, to be on the towers and upon the bulwarks, to shoot arrows and great stones withal. And his name spread far abroad; for he was marvellously helped, till he was strong.

16 But when he was strong, his heart was lifted up to his destruction: for he transgressed against the Lord his God, and went into the temple of the Lord to burn incense upon the altar of incense.

Uzziah became so strong that he boasted and forgot who made him strong. He forgot he was nothing without God. God help us never forget where our strength comes from and that we are nothing without you. For in you we live, and move, and have our being.

  46. “And he did that which was right in the sight of the Lord, according to all that his father Amaziah did. And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

As soon as he exhausted himself above his position, he was struck down. Just like satan when he tried to think higher of himself than he should God did not allow it. Satan fell from heaven. The king fell sick with leporacy in the house of God. Just like those who spoke against Moses, when he went after the house of God and tried to exhaust himself in Jesus like he exhaled himself in the world it didn’t work.

  47. 5 And he sought God in the days of Zechariah, who had understanding in the visions of God: and as long as he sought the Lord, God made him to prosper.

Just like we can never outgive GOD , we surely can’t out seek GOD!!! HE IS FAITHFUL EVEN WHEN WE AREN’T FSITHFUL!!!

  48. “But then the strength and success went to his head. Arrogant and proud, he fell. One day, contemptuous of GOD, he walked into The Temple of GOD like he owned it and took over, burning incense on the Incense Altar. The priest Azariah, backed up by eighty brave priests of GOD, tried to prevent him. They confronted Uzziah: “You must not, you cannot do this, Uzziah—only the Aaronite priests, especially consecrated for the work, are permitted to burn incense. Get out of God’s Temple; you are unfaithful and a disgrace!””
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭26:16-18‬ ‭MSG‬‬

    Pride always comes before destruction
    It don’t last long ever
Lucifer was in Heaven and the pride began to get to his head until he was struck down like lightning. It was his pride that caused him to fall. Our bible instructs us to die daily to our flesh and to humble ourselves and pray. No telling what God will do if submit ourselves to him.
