Isaiah 8

1 Moreover the Lord said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man’s pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.

And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.

And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the Lord to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.

For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.

The Lord spake also unto me again, saying,

Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;

Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.

Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.

10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

14 And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.

15 And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.

16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

17 And I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

18 Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

21 And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.

22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

  1. Isaiah 8. Message
When people tell you, “Try out the fortunetellers.
    Consult the spiritualists.
Why not tap into the spirit-world,
get in touch with the dead?”
Tell them, “No, we’re going to study the Scriptures.”
People who try the other ways get nowhere—a dead end!
    Frustrated and famished,
they try one thing after another.
When nothing works out they get angry,
cursing first this god and then that one,
    Looking this way and that,
up, down, and sideways—and seeing nothing,
A blank wall, an empty hole.
They end up in the dark with nothing.

We live in a world filled with frustrated people. Everyone looking for the answer for their dilemma.
From the whys of death to trying to create a perfect marriage . From not having enough to having too much …..searching for the correct answer but finding nothing. Someone recently sent me a message asking “What happened to What Happened ?” Again a continual search for answers to life and what happened ?
We must understand that God had no intentions of the evil within in this world and the sinful nature that man actually has brought upon their self. God’s plan has always been one that brought hope hope . Even in the midst of Israel’s disobedience a d searching after other gods. God still looked down and still does with hope and promises of deliverance.
Scripture says why seek you the living among the dead. Good verses Evil. We may not understand the ways of life and death but I know assuredly that seeking anywhere else only leads right back to a dead end street just as these scriptures state . Yet when we seek and truly study the scriptures The Light shines right into the darkest areas of the soul and God’s love brings a peace that cannot be explained . Every question that was being sought after can be found an answer right in the word of God. Some may say it is a history book ;others may call it a novel of war and romance . Whatever you call it The Word of God is the greatest Manual filled with God breathed resources. Some of the greatest scientists have turned to the Bible for answers . Will everyone accept Its guidance? No. But if we study and share what God’s Word has to say there will be many who will find the answers they are seeking and their frustrations and confusion will finally be lost in the promises that The Greatest Book in the world has just given them. Back to the question ;” What happened to What Happened ?” In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. There is life in The Word ! Read it . Absorb the nutrients don’t just gobble so quickly you have not even savored the taste. You will find not a dark hole but a light that will shine in the midst of your darkest struggles. Yes Israel left their God . Yes they are still seeking and when Jesus returns many will truly be shocked of who Jesus Christ truly is Emanuel God with us! Thank You for the Word…many many times it has brought strength and renewed life to my own moments of questions and brokenness but after spending quality time not quantity but quality time the answer is revealed . Thank You for Your Word and that we still have the opportunity to hide it in our hearts.

    II Timothy 2:15
15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
Just take a look the answers you seem are in there.

  2. 19 And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?

God has provided all that is requisite for our teaching and spiritual needs in the Scriptures of Truth.

    2 Timothy‬ ‭3:16‬
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”
    ‭‭
    ‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭3:17‬
“That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

  3. 9 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.

10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

With what The prophet was being spoken to from God given warning that if they associated themselves with the wicked that they would be broken into pieces. In other word if we find comfort in the sinful and wickedness of the world we would be judged alongside them. We have an opportunity to stand above them not to be better than them but to be blessed more than them because of our relationship with the master. If we choose the kingdom we will be blessed. Choose the world we will be cursed and eventually destroyed. Just like scripture tells us that we can not serve two masters. It is a tragedy that people would rather enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season oblivious to the outcome than to serve God and be blessed for eternity. It’s the church’s job to be the voice of reasoning to a dying world. We have to be the light in the darkness. We have to try to reap the harvest while there is still time to work.

  4. 11. For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

    12. Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.

    13. Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

Don’t walk in the way of this people…
    John 14:6 KJVS
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

    Say ye not, A confederacy…
    2 Corinthians 6:
    14. Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?

    17. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you,

    neither fear ye their fear…
    Proverbs 9:10 KJVS
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.

    Sanctify the Lord…
    1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

  5. 16 Preserve the teaching of God; entrust his instructions to those who follow me. (NLT)

20 Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark. (NLT)

It is important we hide the Word of God in our hearts. Follow after the Lord and keep His commandments. They are precious and will keep you through all the ways of life!

  6. Isaiah 8: 13-14 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear and him be your dread.
    (14) And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare in the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Ps. 112 : 1 Praise ye the Lord. Blessed is man that feareth the Lord, that delighted greatly in his commandments.
The Lord didn’t give me a Spirit of fear he gave me the desires of him .
The Lord is Prince of Peace and his eternal reign as the Mighty God and Everlasting Father.
Peace and Joy in the Holy Ghost.

  8. 8: 19 and when they shall say unto thee
, seek unto them that have familiar spirits
And unto wizards that peep, and that mutter
Should not a people seek unto their God?
For the living to the dead?
    ——-
Sometimes Worry, confusion, perplexity, in desperation
Will lead some to make very poor unwise decisions…
But Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth and the life.”
JESUS IS THE ANSWER to everything.
    There is no other way
There is no one else who can help like Jesus does.
    There is not another truth
    Jesus is the truth!
    The counselor
The one who guides and have ALL answers .
The only one who can save and deliver.
    Hallelujah 🙌
    Thank you Jesus.
No matter what happens. I know that you
Are the way, the truth and the life

  9. Hold on to this truth.

The gospel of Jesus Christ is all that we have. We must protect this with diligence. We must learn it and be so persuaded by that when they ask who your God is, you won’t hesitate.

God is true. He will reward us for keeping his word. If we don’t protect what is truth then the truth will never be referenced to, it will be worthless.

“Preserve the teaching of God; entrust his instructions to those who follow me.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Take somebody under your wing. Teach them the Gospel.

  10. 17 And I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
18 Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

No matter what battles we fight and no matter what things come against us, regardless if we make mistakes or not we must not stop seeking the Lord and trying to find him. Whether we are waiting upon him for his promises or looking just to go deeper into our relationship with him. Our hearts must always be positioned to seek the Lord of host.

  11. And you shall know the truth and the truth shall set you free. Gods message to all. And indeed it WILL set you free! God is so so good to us and I love him so so much. Ask the Lord ANYTHING and he will answer you!

  12. 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

We shouldn’t question Gods plans when in doubt but put our trust in him.

  13. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
These scriptures are very clearly prophetic in two ways. One is that they were addressing the current situation that was taking place. God was promising Judah deliverance from Samaria and the king of Syria over their attacks, but prophetically God was also promising deliverance through the birth of Jesus. In the previous chapter, God had promised the virgin birth of Emanuel.

  14. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    WHAT ARE YOU AFRAID OF

11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

The eternal WORD of GOD has recorded this passage for 2020-2021. There is an overabundance of conspiracies among us. With the speedway of the internet and the high performance vehicles of social media. Nations turn on a dime and the world on a quarter. From toilet paper to bottled water, we have witnessed these confederacies over the past 12 months. The NIV version of these 3 verses make it clear to us the importance of FAITH in GOD and not this world or its systems. Along Fear of the LORD rather than fear of the world.

    NIV
11 This is what the Lord says to me with his strong hand upon me, warning me not to follow the way of this people:
    12 “Do not call conspiracy
    everything this people calls a conspiracy;
do not fear what they fear,
    and do not dread it.
13 The Lord Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy,
he is the one you are to fear,
he is the one you are to dread.

Revelation – DO NOT entertain all of the conspiracy theories of the world. TRUST in the TRUTH – The Holy WORD of GOD.

Leave all the plodder for the world. Walk with JESUS by and in FAITH.

The LORD of hosts, Him you shall hallow; Let Him be your fear, And let Him be your dread. 19. Isaiah Chapter 8

18 Behold, I and the children whom the Lord hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the Lord of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.

22 And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.

There is a stark contrast in verse 18 and 22. In verse 18 we have the Lord of Hosts and verse 22 there is darkness. This day may we walk in the light as he is our light
1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
Psalm 46:7 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

  20. 12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

The arm of the flesh nor the ways of the world will save us. Yet people depend on their own devices instead of God. When we see someone overcome we must let the Lord shine through us so they can see him and turn to him in their distress. Our testimony of what has done for us will go a long way to reach souls.

No matter how broken or how far lost we are if we just call the name of Jesus he will always be here aslong as he is alive in us.

  22. 11 “The Lord has given me a strong warning not to think like everyone else does…”

If you have had any type of encounter with another human, you know that we all think differently. Things that “we think” are common sense are completely nonexistent to another. Yet, this is exactly how we are made.

If we all thought the same, responded the same, and lived the same this world would be quite boring. And we serve a CREATIVE God, that is worthy of more than boring.

Through the creativity of God we were each wonderfully made, with our own abilities to think, make choices, and act on such. And when we LIVE JESUS it modifies our thinking, we begin to think differently. We begin to think like Jesus, so that we may GIVE like Jesus!

We can all LIVE Jesus, and think like Jesus and the individuality that God has given each of us allows us to develop creative personalized ways to GIVE Jesus!

  23. Isaiah 8:19-20 ((VOICE)
    19) People might tell you to ask the fortune-tellers, consult the babbling astrologers, conjure the dead to tell the living what’s to come, but shouldn’t they ask their God?
    20) Go to God’s teaching and His testimony to guide your thoughts and behavior! If any response disagrees with the word of God, then it’s muddling and wrong and not the least bit illuminating.

vs. 20 (MSG), “Tell them, ‘No, we’re going to Study the Scriptures.’ People who try the other ways get nowhere – a dead end!”

The only One we need to ask or consult (get advice from) is God, and we can do that through PRAYER and READING and STUDYING His Word because He speaks to us.
He has ALL the answers and advice we will ever need through PRAYER and READING and STUDYING His Word.

  24. 9 Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.

10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

My mother always told me that you are who you hang out with! I’ve always disliked “clicks” , for the simple reason that they become a society of their own and do not outside ideas that do not promote their beliefs/schemes. We should never bend or bow to others, but stand up for what is right according the the Word of the Lord! Instead of chasing after popular people, the “In Crowd” we should be “God-Chasers! Instead of hiding the light, we should be vessels that His light can shine through.

  25. Isaiah 8:20-21
[20]Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.
[21]They will go from one place to another, weary and hungry. And because they are hungry, they will rage and curse their king and their God. They will look up to heaven

People who obey God’s instructions always experience the miraculous. Obeying God’s instructions can turn lack into abundance, failure into success, shame into glory, and the ordinary into extraordinary. Obeying God is wisdom; it enhances your life, beautifies your life, secures the miraculous and keeps you secured. A person who disobeys the instructions of God forfeits a key to blessings and breakthroughs. Prompt obedience is important. He does the impossible and He does new things. Obeying God can give you an unprecedented breakthrough. If only Christians can obey the instructions of God, they will receive the promise!

    Peter Has a Great Catch (Luke 5: 1 – 7):
Before Jesus called Peter, he was a fisherman. One day, as Jesus stood by the Lake of Gennesaret to preach, as the multitudes pressed about Him, he got into Peter’s boat and asked to use the boat to preach. So Jesus sat down and taught the multitudes from the boat. When Jesus finished speaking, He told Peter “Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for a catch.”

The Bible records in Luke 5 verses 5 – 7:
But Simon answered and said to Him, “Master, we have toiled all night and caught nothing; nevertheless at Your word I will let down the net.” 6 And when they had done this, they caught a great number of fish, and their net was breaking. 7 So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink. (New King James Version).

Peter obeyed the instruction of Jesus and He had a great catch, a catch so large that the net began to break and he had to call his business partners to help out, and they filled both boats with fish till they began to sink. So Peter goes from working all night and catching absolutely nothing, to having such a great catch that he could not handle alone. That is the power of obeying God’s instruction!

    2. Wedding in Cana of Galilee (John 2: 1 – 11):
This is the first miracle Jesus performed. Jesus, His disciples and His mother were at a wedding and at some point the hosts ran out of wine. Mary the mother of Jesus informed Jesus that they had run out of wine, and then she told the servants who were working at the wedding “whatever He (Jesus) says to you, do it” (John 2:5).

The Bible says in John 2 verses 6 – 9:
Now there were set there six waterpots of stone, according to the manner of purification of the Jews, containing twenty or thirty gallons apiece. 7 Jesus said to them, “Fill the waterpots with water.” And they filled them up to the brim. 8 And He said to them, “Draw some out now, and take it to the master of the feast.” And they took it. 9 When the master of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the master of the feast called the bridegroom.

They obeyed Jesus and their obedience resulted in the miraculous..

    3. The Apostles and Disciples Tarry in Jerusalem
After Jesus had died and he rose from the dead on the third day, He told his disciples (In Luke 24 verse 49):
“Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.” (New King James Version).

    Another account in Acts 1 verses 4 – 5:
And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” (New King James Version).

They obeyed Jesus and stayed in Jerusalem and waited for the promise of the Father. Acts 1 verses 12 – 14 records:
12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey. 13 And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James. 14 These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

Let us take a look at what happened as they obeyed. Acts 2 verses 1 – 4:
When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. 3 Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. (New King James Version).

    Hallelujah!

Jesus said that a person who hears the Word of God and obeys is a wise person who builds their house upon a rock. In Matthew 7 verses 24 – 27:

“Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.” (New King James version)

  26. 6 Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah’s son;

7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

The AMP says – Isaiah 8:6 The perennial spring outside Jerusalem that flowed to the Pool of Siloam, Jerusalem’s water supply. The spring was a symbol of God’s protection and sustaining power.

This means that they refused God’s protection and sustaining power. They sought elsewhere for someone or something to protection and sustain them.

We must not be guilty of the same; looking for purpose outside of the Kingdom of God, looking to be fulfilled with earthly things that are going to pass away. God’s protection and provision are real and without them we don’t have a chance of making Heaven our eternal home.

  27. 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

In today’s world, Jesus is the only hope. The most common way people see Jesus is through us. When we loose sight of who the King of Kings is, and how every knee WILL bow to Him, we can not show them Jesus..

  28. Complete trust in God provides us with the quiet resolve and soothing assurance ” that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ. ”
    Philippians 1:6
    Only Trust Him!

  29. Isaiah 8
12 Do not call conspiracy everything this people calls a conspiracy: do not fear what they fear, and do not dread it.
13 The LORD Almighty is the one you are to regard as holy, he is the one you are to fear, he is the one you are to dread.
14 He will be a holy place; for both Israel and Judah he will be a stone that causes peoplet to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, And for the people of Jerusalem he will be a trap and a snare.
15 Many of them will stumble; they will fall and be broken, they will be snared and captured.
16 Bind up this testimony of warning and seal up God’s instruction among my disciples.

Do not go against our Lord. He knows all, sees all, and is ultimately in charge. Why would anyone want to go against our Lord and Savior? God is responsible for everything we have. I have food, shelter, a job and an awesome church; the POFW. He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow! Our Lord is a living God and other people who worship elsewhere; they are worshipping the dead, or objects. I thank you Jesus Christ for being the one and truthful God.

  30. 11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
12 Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
13 Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.

We should not walk as sinners do but we should fear the Lord and do his commandments. We are the light of the world.

  31. 17 And I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

We must be willing to wait on the Lord. We cannot try to move on our own. In our waiting, we can receive the strength we need to press through any barrier. God has a plan for each of us. If we wait and follow that plan, he will give us the desires of our heart.

  32. 16 Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.

In the middle of the darkness that surrounds us and this nation it is important that we keep the word do God near to our hearts. His work is what we need and His word is what will heal our land.

  33. 13. Sanctify the Lord of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
I love how the word is so marvelous and beautiful. How it is so meticulously organized and connected through this wonderful book. In Revelation 14:7 Saying with a loud voice ,Fear God, and glory to him, for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven and earth, and the sea and the fountains of waters. The verse before said that an angel is preaching the eternal gospel, which has been the purpose since the beginning. Fear the Lord.
    14. And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
Wow! What a prophecy talking about Israel rejecting in the future His messiah.
1 Peter 2:8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offense, even to them which stumble at the word , being disobedient: where unto also they were appointed.

  34. “Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Trust in the Lord with all your heart for his word neither the Lord will ever fail you. In your trials in your battles, at your lowest points in life when it’s dark and you need someone there always remember God is there, and that his word will light up your path way. As we grow daily in the Lord, and seek him more and more we should be building up the strength and the wisdom from God to go out into this evil world and spread the light, joy, and peace of the Lord. Keep the word of the Lord in your heart and mind, and the Lord closer for he will get you through all things.

  35. 20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

A lot of people don’t know about God. In the verse that I put above it was talking about that people did not retaliate to the word spoken, because they did not know what was going on. It said that if they did not speak until the word it was because there was no light in them. The light is Jesus Christ himself. A lot of people don’t know about God, and this is why we do out reach to help these people. I pray tonight that we are all reaching a loss and bringing them to the light!!!

  36. 7 Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:

  37. “Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead? Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:19-20‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God is the only one and truly living god… so why do we go elsewhere for guidance. We should always seek his face for knowledge wisdom and understanding. This shouldn’t be something we have to think about, it should run through our blood and veins. You know your god can do any and everything so why do you question it? Have confidence! Stop feeding your body those things that you know aren’t of god.

  38. Someone may say to you, “Let’s ask the mediums and those who consult the spirits of the dead. With their whisperings and mutterings, they will tell us what to do.” But shouldn’t people ask God for guidance? Should the living seek guidance from the dead? Look to God’s instructions and teachings! People who contradict his word are completely in the dark.
    Isaiah 8:19‭-‬20 NLT

The psalmist said on psalm 20 verse 7

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: But we will remember the name of the LORD our God.
    Psalms 20:7 KJV
It is that darkness that contradicts and deceives people. Whether they want to admit it or not, people always seek higher power, diety or strength. Someone to help them our of their troubles. A superhero if you will. Someone that gives guidance.

Simply, we were just not created to function on our own. We were created to worship. We were created to be dependent on God. Yet the enemy has twisted this and deceived the people to trust in their gods. To some it may be money and power, to others they may have an idol of control. They are their own gods. Some are drawn by the occult and the spirit realm. Yet in all this there is only One Way, Truth and Life. His name is Jesus. He is also the Light of the world. He is our Lord and savior. Whatever you need the word says He Is. Becuase he is the I AM.

  39. What does your testimony say?

20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.

I hear a lot of “Christian” people talk about their testimony. A lot of the time they tell how bad they once were or how much trouble they got into. Some of those telling these testimonies are not delivered from their old ways, they just got to old to do that stuff anymore. A true testimony should tell of deliverance, salvation or refuge, not give glory to your past shinanigans. Let our testimonies be powerful and something we can give glory to God.

  40. 10 Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

Take encouragement and helpful constructive criticism from your neighbors. God is with us and it should also stay in our mouth and our words of encouragement to our brothers and sisters.

11 For the Lord spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,

Listen to His Word, do not listen to the enemy and don’t follow the ways of the world. Set ourselves apart and make a difference.

  41. “Later, the Lord sent this message to King Ahaz: “Ask the Lord your God for a sign of confirmation, Ahaz. Make it as difficult as you want—as high as heaven or as deep as the place of the dead. ” But the king refused. “No,” he said, “I will not test the Lord like that.” Then Isaiah said, “Listen well, you royal family of David! Isn’t it enough to exhaust human patience? Must you exhaust the patience of my God as well?”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭7:10-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God will give us a blessing and poof that he is able. Let lift Him and be faithful to the promises of God. Pray and reflect on the promises he has done and will do.

  42. ““Don’t call everything a conspiracy, like they do, and don’t live in dread of what frightens them. Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:12-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There is so much stuff the world bickers over – don’t get caught up in it! Here we see that Isaiah is warming the people not to follow the ways of the world but instead fear God. In other words, he’s telling them to be Kingdom minded. When we focus on the Kingdom we get the attention of the King.

  43. “For the LORD spoke thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying:”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Here’s yet another verse that speaks about the word of the Lord. This word leads and guides in the ways we we should go. It is our very foundation and we can stand on. The Lord always has our best in mind. Lord,my prayer would be that I would always be ready to be your word.

  44. 17 And I will wait upon the Lord, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.

    Isaiah 40:31
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint

God help us to wait on you in everything in our lives today for you are our strength and our refuge.

  45. “Make the Lord of Heaven’s Armies holy in your life. He is the one you should fear. He is the one who should make you tremble.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:13‬ ‭NLT

Is God Lord overall in your life? Man can’t save you nor can the desire of the world satisfies you, but God wants to restore our life and wants us to spend eternal life with Him. Open our hearts and let God be Lord overall In your life and you will be made new, satisfied, and have everlasting joy with God as like Jesus and Give Jesus.

  46. “Moreover the Lord said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man’s pen concerning Maher–shalal–hash–baz. And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:1-2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sometimes you have to have help. These men were his help. They went with him for his task. They kept things right. This is a great thing for helping keep our commitments as others will help you follow through.

  47. “Then the Lord spoke to me again and said, “My care for the people of Judah is like the gently flowing waters of Shiloah, but they have rejected it. They are rejoicing over what will happen to King Rezin and King Pekah. Therefore, the Lord will overwhelm them with a mighty flood from the Euphrates River —the king of Assyria and all his glory. This flood will overflow all its channels and sweep into Judah until it is chin deep. It will spread its wings, submerging your land from one end to the other, O Immanuel. “Huddle together, you nations, and be terrified. Listen, all you distant lands. Prepare for battle, but you will be crushed! Yes, prepare for battle, but you will be crushed! Call your councils of war, but they will be worthless. Develop your strategies, but they will not succeed. For God is with us! ””
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:5-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God is using the difference between the small, humble, yet adequate waters of Israel and the mighty, yet uncontrolled rivers of Assyria to make a point. It is as if God is saying, “You don’t like what I have given you? You persist in rejecting what I give you? Then I will give you something different, but you won’t like it either.”

  48. “Preserve the teaching of God; entrust his instructions to those who follow me. I will wait for the Lord, who has turned away from the descendants of Jacob. I will put my hope in him.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭8:16-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬
    https://www.bible.com/116/isa.8.16-17.nlt

I will put my hope and trust in the Lord Jesus I know whatever is best for me he knows before I know and that all my trials and tribulations or set for a testing of my faith and he will always make a way of escape those things are placed before us so that we could grow in him become spiritually stronger

  49. Verses 11-13 ERV “The Lord spoke to me with his great power and warned[i] me not to be like these people. He said, “Don’t think there is a plan against you just because the people say there is. Don’t be afraid of what they fear. Don’t let them frighten you!”
The Lord All-Powerful is the one you should fear. He is the one you should respect.[j] He is the one who should frighten you.”

1 Samuel 12:24 AMP says “Only fear the Lord [with awe and profound reverence] and serve Him faithfully with all your heart; for consider what great things He has done for you.”
