Day 4: Acts Ch.4. Chapter four documents the incredible start and momentum the early church experienced. Peter and John give a powerful testimony before the Jewish council, and the number of disciples grows to over 5,000. The tremendous spiritual unity and generosity among Christ’s followers is alluring to onlookers. As you pray today, thank God for faithful believers who have gone before us, and for those of us who now hold the baton. Pray for courage to boldly testify, compelling others to be changed.

4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.

9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.
12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
15 But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 Saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been done by them is manifest to all them that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 But that it spread no further among the people, let us straitly threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 And they called them, and commanded them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you more than unto God, judge ye.
20 For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.
21 So when they had further threatened them, they let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people: for all men glorified God for that which was done.
22 For the man was above forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was shewed.
23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is:
25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things?
26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ.
27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together,
28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done.
29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
32 And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
34 Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
35 And laid them down at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.
36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.

A couple of weeks ago when Bro. Smith was preaching in the Spanish church, there was this lady there who had came for the very first time to a Pentecostal/apostolic church. During that time bro. Smith had talked about baptism. As this woman listened to the reading of the scripture, she immediately opened her bible and read how to be baptized, a light turned on in her head as The LORD JESUS gave her the understanding. She rejoiced and said ‘ I knew there was something missing!’ I see and know how I should’ve been baptized all along!’
‘I want to be baptized she said. So she was.
This is who we as a church is reaching for.
So as Peter and John we must continue to have that boldness and speak truth to wherever our feet will go and preach/teach The gospel in our region. Again we’ve been called, chosen, and commissioned to ‘GO’
‘We are bold, we are strong, …through Christwe WILL take this city/region!’

What made the difference in Peter from the one who denied being a disciple of JESUS (St. John 18:17 & 25) to the one who now speaks boldly (Now wen they say the boldness of Peter… vs.13) about JESUS?
He was Filled With The Holy Ghost!! He was endued (furnished, granted, provided, supplied) with POWER from on high (St. Luke 24:49).
This is why me must be Filled With The Holy Ghost EVERYDAY. So that we can be endued (furnished, granted, provided, supplied) with POWER to GO and Speak Boldly about JESUS. To tell others, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.”(vs.12). To speak about the things which we have seen and heard (vs.20). To tell them about the Plan of Salvation, “Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of JESUS Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. (Acts 2:38).

This is the first time I really understood that the Apostles took an Old Testament scripture and applied it to Jewish leaders and Elders when the scripture was referring to “heathen”. This is interesting but understandable for the fact that even though the Jewish Leaders weren’t heathen through their blood line, they were spiritually through their unbelief.
We are instructed to get Gods word to all we meet. The end is near and many lost people are in the world. We dont need worldly possessions. We need Jesus and we were made and given breath to share the gospel. God is so good and his mercy endures forever. I need to get the word out!
36 And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,
37 Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
From my recolection, the tribe of Levite is the Priestly tribe, which were to work in the temple and not possess land. Thusly, we see here repentance which is the first step toward faith, and ministring to support the building up of the Church, which is the first step of showing faith by your works.

8 Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders of Israel,
9 If we this day be examined of the good deed done to the impotent man, by what means he is made whole;
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Boldness in the Name-
Peter was bold standing in front of this council or group of non-believers. The scripture made a point stating that Peter was filled the Holy Ghost. We see that in the same manner that Peter had power because of the name
Of Jesus, was the same power that gave him boldness to speak healing and to speak to this council. Many people that have to be saved, must be save in the name of Jesus Christ. There is none other name under heaven given unto men where by we must be saved.
We can not confuse boldness with confidence and we must never forget that many will not believe the words because they are going to have to see the results of what we are preaching and teaching. We have to be all in with the kingdom of God and we have to live Jesus to be able to give Jesus. Be bold and be not afraid because greater is he that is in us than he that is in this world.

Many believe there are other names that can be used to reach heaven, salvation or God. They want to believe there are other ways to get to heaven. Many are deceived by false gods, prophets and preachers. It’s clearly states only in Jesus name can there be salvation.
Verses 13-14 MSG “They couldn’t take their eyes off them—Peter and John standing there so confident, so sure of themselves! Their fascination deepened when they realized these two were laymen with no training in Scripture or formal education. They recognized them as companions of Jesus, but with the man right before them, seeing him standing there so upright—so healed!—what could they say against that?” Talk about in your face……! Ephesians 3:11-13 MSG “All this is proceeding along lines planned all along by God and then executed in Christ Jesus. When we trust in him, we’re free to say whatever needs to be said, bold to go wherever we need to go. So don’t let my present trouble on your behalf get you down. Be proud!”
Verses 29-31 MSG “And now they’re at it again! Take care of their threats and give your servants fearless confidence in preaching your Message, as you stretch out your hand to us in healings and miracles and wonders done in the name of your holy servant Jesus.” While they were praying, the place where they were meeting trembled and shook. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak God’s Word with fearless confidence.” Let’s do some ground shaking today in Jesus name!

As idealistic as it is that everyone will be open to receiving the gospel and hearing the truth about the love of Jesus Christ and the ability to save them from sin, it’s not going to happen. People are going to criticize and judge. I don’t think it’s been more prevalent than it is right now in a Time or Christ is not accepted in this nation. During a season of a cancel culture that even tries to take out people like Mr Rogers and Dr Seuss, they will make no exceptions for Jesus. And that’s okay. We’re not going to please the world. We’re not going to win the world. We’re going to reach the people that are able to be reached, and that’s our mission

Peter and John spoke with such boldness and confidence and seeing the healed man standing there, the Sanhedrins realized they had been in the presence of Jesus and this miracle was real.
Matthew 5:16 “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Through prayer and boldness let’s,go out and speak the name of Jesus to the lost world!
40 Day’s of Fire!

After persecution, they didn’t pity themselves or ask God to remove the problem. Instead, they prayed for boldness to keep doing it! When we prove to God we are committed to doing the work of His Kingdom, He will automatically begin to show us grace. As a unified effort today, as we boldly share Jesus today, I believe we will see the favor of the Lord among our community children and families!

I am thankful for education, training and studies. But the Gospel of JESUS seems pretty simple here. When asked about the miracle, the infallible proof of JESUS power. The apostle Peter didn’t stuttter around searching for a response or impressive words to speak.
By the Name of JESUS this man is stands before you and by the way, the only way to be saved is in the Name of JESUS. I pray that our response to all good works of JESUS is that we give honor to HIS great name for HIS marvelous works and infallible proofs of Healing, Salvation, Deliverance and Blessing.

The Holy Ghost empowers us to be witnesses with boldness. The people in the crowd marveled at what Peter said. The key here is Peter was full of the Holy Ghost. The bible boldly declares that the Holy Ghost will lead and guide us into all truth, and it will also lead us each day to people that need something from God. We must use the same holy boldness that Peter spoke with to share what Jesus is doing with these people. We must take the time to spiritually fuel ourselves with the Holy Ghost so that we can be instant in season, ready at any moment to open our mouth and let Jesus come out!
4:29 and now lord behold their threatenings:

As persecution begins, the disciples become closer and more determined to be bold and preach Jesus. They pray for there to be signs and miracles and God shows his approval by filling them all with the Holy Ghost. So, no matter who does not want to hear about what God is doing, we must testify and believe for more miracles.

That name is Jesus and there is no other name. there are people out there praying to false gods and idols and think that is okay; it is our place to spread the word that Jesus is the only name to be saved!!!

It is so important to notice the difference in Peter here, and the Peter who had been afraid and denied Jesus three times. This Peter is filled with the power of the Holy Ghost.
Peter has no fear of what these worldly men can do to him. He also reminds them that they are trying to punish him for a good deed, not a bad.

Peter and John were threatened and instead of asking for Jesus to save their lives, they asked God to give them boldness to speak the Word. They put themselves aside because they knew they were in the presence of hungry souls in need of truth. I thank you God that in our sacrifice, You are blessed and others reap the benefit.

There is only one name that is able to save. That name is Jesus. It is the name above all names. When demons flee, it is because of the name of Jesus. Don’t let the enemy trick you into thinking that saying the name of Jesus has no power. Shout it loud and shout it every day and watch what happens.

Just think the two days previses Pentecost around 3,000 were baptized and received the baptism in Jesus Name. Because of the lame man from birth was healed in Jesus name another 5,000 thousand more came to Jesus.
23 And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
Then when Peter and John arrived and told what was said to them all worshiped and prayed and the place was shaken and all were filled with the holy Ghost, and they spoke the word of God with boldness. The church grew in larger numbers.
We too will be given boldness as we follow the Holy Spirit. The kingdom of God is in us.

In this case, seeing is believing. Peter and John had very strong faith, and this helped the 5000 to be saved. All we need is faith the size of a mustard seed, and wonderful things can happen!

Acts 4
This Chapter means that, We all go through trials and tribulations even Jesus and The Apostles went through trials and persecutions but they relayed on God and Jesus told us in His Word that We would be hated for His Namesake but It would be a Gain for Jesus

In this case seeing is believing. Peter and John had
very strong faith, and we need faith as strong as the size of a mustard seed at least and we can make a difference. As Jesus Christ’s children, we CAN help bring the lost to Jesus.

They didn’t say that Peter and John were stupid, just that they were ignorant, by their standards of schooling… They did notice however that these men had been with Jesus. Can people look at you, or me, no matter how smart, and see that we had spent time with Jesus?

One of the oldest history books is currently being stripped from schools and some states are looking at removing them from being available there, simply because they don’t want people to be taught about that name, Jesus. When it come closer to home, where are you going to stand??

We live in a day that the name of Jesus is less and less used by many but just as pastor teaches us it should be the number one word in our vocabulary.
This is not A church cliché but this is the power of God. The name of Jesus gives us power. It is not by our might pop by his spirit and he uses us to lay hands on the sick and they recover. He uses us to speak life to dry bones. He uses us to speak to the brokenhearted and speak deliverance to those that are held captive. We must declare His name and let others know who He is.

The people heard the WORD and believed. The people must hear the WORD. We are written epistles read of all men. And we must just Jesus out on display and parade Jesus everywhere we go. Lord, my prayer is that you would open their blinded eyes and open their ears to hear and see your Truth.
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
We can not always fully understand the miracles that God does for us, but we also can not speak against it. All we really need to know is that He is out God Lord over all and can do anything!!! I pray tonight that we are believing that God can do great and mighty things!!!
He Is Alive! We that are in Christ ‘s have that great hope of glory. Paul gave us insight into the hope that born- again believers possess ….their own personal resurrection at the second coming of Jesus.

Don’t allow the world to shut your mouth. No matter what they may say or try to do we can’t shut our mouths and stop spreading the word of god. We are his disciples and must bring light unto the world. We must continue to walk in boldness and have faith believing that anything can happen. We can’t be afraid and allow the fear of the world to over take us. Be bold and stand up for your god!!

Oh the wonders of miracles that the Lord can perform and do for us, is so amazing and sometimes we can’t even imagine how he did it but he did. When we are going through trials in life, when you have so much stuff going on just take a minute and go to the Lord in prayer, show him that you sacrifice all unto him, put all you faith and trust in him, be faithful unto him. Trust in the Lord with all thy heart for his word won’t fail, let us believe in him no matter what. I pray tonight that we realize that he is the only one who can save us and the only one who can heal us and bring us peace. Let us go out into this world and reach out to the lost and spread the light of the Lord, help people receive Gods miracles.

The council couldn’t stop the people from praising God, what will happen when the city of Fort Worth begins to worship God? Lives will be saved and the spirits of the enemies will be cast out into the outer darkness. Let us arise in boldness and with confidence announcing the goodness of the God Almighty. Praising God for what He has done and for what He is going to do.
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
Acts 4:12-14 Neither is their salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved. Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
No other Name but the Name of Jesus!
Pray for that boldness to get out the Truth to All !!

We need to share the blessing of the Lord it causes us to be humbled. As leaders we need to be humble about sharing and show the blessing of the Lord.
33 And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
It took a miracle for people to believe that God can do anything. But it takes faith for people to believe in the resurrection.
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
13 Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John, and perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marvelled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14 And beholding the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
Peter was letting them know you still can’t stop Jesus, you crucified him and still you can’t stop the power of God he is alive and well then and he still is the only name whereby anybody can be saved for he has all power in heaven and earth.
9 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,
30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus.
31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
Shut the mouth of the enemy Lord!! Whenever the enemy comes against you, and where there seems to be persecution, that’s where the apostles did not coward down but instead rose with boldness to prayer. To make this kind of prayers you must really have confidence and know your God. They didn’t pray, Lord deliver us from this, but on the contrary said, Lord show off and show out! Let the enemies look and in awe at the marvelous wonders that the name of Jesus can do. Prove them wrong. Shut them up and let your power and majesty show. Now is not the time to back down but go forward full force. The Kingdom of God suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force!!!
For Jesus is the one referred to in the Scriptures, where it says, ‘The stone that you builders rejected has now become the cornerstone.’ There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.”

We must always speak about Jesus. This world wants us to stay quiet and keep the flow going. Oh!! but we must not, for we know God we have felt and seen His wonders. We cannot and must not stay silent but speak louder about who God is and what He can do.
2 Being grieved that they taught the people, and preached through Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in hold unto the next day: for it was now eventide.
4 Howbeit many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.
Just because the world disagrees or decides we are doing something wrong or even unrewarding, does not mean that we should be discouraged or dismayed. For even if we get shut down or pushed away there is someone that will hear us. There is someone who not only hears us, but also believes!! “. . . many of them which heard the word believed; and the number of the men was about five thousand.” Our words are not null, neither do they fall flat. Even when sometimes we feel as though our words may fall by the wayside, there is always someone who overhears and believes as well!! Keep talking to Jesus and inviting those that need Him.
10 Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole.
They never discredited the Lord. He deserves all the glory in ever single situation. It’s the least we could do after everything He done for us. I thank the Lord for every child being filled with the Holy Ghost and everything he has yet to do.
Acts 5:2-3
And kept back part of the price, his wife also being privy to it, and brought a certain part, and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, Ananias, why hath Satan filled thine heart to lie to the Holy Ghost, and to keep back part of the price of the land?
You see that when you hold back what Jesus has blessed you with. Your heart is filled with Satan when you LIE to the Holy Ghost. I’d say that’s any LIE to be honest. We gotta start by being honest to ourselves. If you ever heard of a compulsive liar these are the ones that are unhappy and consistently lie to themselves so they lie to everyone else to cover up their own lies. These people need prayer too! We don’t want them to end up like
