Acts Chapter 8 – FIRE2 – 8/40

Day 8: Acts Ch.8. Philip was one of the first to preach the Gospel outside of Jerusalem. In today’s reading, he preaches to crowds in Samaria. Then, following God’s leading, he persuades an Ethiopian who is trying to understand the Scriptures. Pray that God will orchestrate one-on-one encounters with others as well as for the Church to grow in wisdom.

Acts 8

And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

And there was great joy in that city.

But there was a certain man, called Simon, which beforetime in the same city used sorcery, and bewitched the people of Samaria, giving out that himself was some great one:

10 To whom they all gave heed, from the least to the greatest, saying, This man is the great power of God.

11 And to him they had regard, because that of long time he had bewitched them with sorceries.

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

13 Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.

14 Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:

16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,

19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

20 But Peter said unto him, Thy money perish with thee, because thou hast thought that the gift of God may be purchased with money.

21 Thou hast neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God.

22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me.

25 And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.

26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:

33 In his humiliation his judgment was taken away: and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

34 And the eunuch answered Philip, and said, I pray thee, of whom speaketh the prophet this? of himself, or of some other man?

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.

38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.

40 But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

  1. 22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

23 For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.

24 Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me. Peter urged Simon to repent of his great sin and pray that his wicked plan might be forgiven. Simon’s reply was to ask Peter to serve as a mediator between God and himself. I believe that he might’ve been the forerunner of those who would rather go to the human mediato than to the floor himself. That’s why I believe they were no true repentance on Simon’s part si indicated by the words he use.

  2. In this chapter the followers of Jesus all became missionaries as they were forced to leave home base; but, wherever they were scattered they preached the Message about Jesus. We too can share the Message about Jesus regardless of where we are, it can be ANYwhere as my God can do ANYTHING. We just need to be careful and not allow any old lustful habits to distract us as Simon did. But rather, let us respond like Philip to just get up and go whenever we are called to do so. You never know who is walking right beside you that has a need, down the street, down the next aisle, or in the next cubicle. Let us LIVE-GIVE JESUS², wherever we are or if we are on the move!

  3. 40. But Philip was found at Azotus: and passing through he preached in all the cities, till he came to Caesarea.

    Just passing through…

This world is not my home
    I’m only passing through
    My treasures are laid up
    Somewhere beyond the blue
    The Angels beckon me
    From Heaven’s open door
And I can’t feel at home
    In this world anymore

    Oh Lord, you know
I have no friend like you
    If Heaven’s not my home
Then Lord what will I do
    The Angels beckon me
    From Heaven’s open door
And I can’t feel at home
    In this world anymore

  4. Acts 8:1-3

I don’t doubt this one bit. I know Jesus can change anyone, before I got the Holy Ghost I wasn’t as friendly as I am now. God can literally take the same person that was persecuting his people, throwing them in jail, killin them…and make em a preacher soul winning Apostle. What happens is God delivers these type of people and then as hard as they went for the enemy they go 10x harder for the Lord because they fee in debt to Jesus. Nothing can persuade me to leave this truth. I may stumble I may fall but I will arise.

  7. 4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

Together or scattered, they didn’t stop preaching the Word of God. In fact, their scattering from Saul probably helped spread rhe gospel even further! Anything Can be turned for the good of His Kingdom! Never stop sharing the gospel!!

  8. And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

There are hungry people that the Lord has prepared their hearts. It’s our job to go out, find them, and offer that revelation to God’s Word they may be missing!! They may not understand filling of the Holy Ghost or what it truly means to repent. God gave us these answers to share with others! Let’s go!!

  9. Acts 8: 12-13 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
    (13) Then Simon himself believe also; and when he was baptized , he continued with Philip and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
Simon beforehand in the same city use sorcery and bewitched and giving out that he was great one, and they believed him.
My God can do anything at anytime.
Give Jesus ( 40 days of Fire)!

  10. 8:35 then Philip open his mouth , and began at the same scripture and preached unto him Jesus.

Like every Evangelist and Pastor Watts have been saying:
    They are everywhere.
People thirsty , people in need, hungry for something else
Not knowing that is va Jesus who we all need…
If I am willing, Jesus will purposely set it up
    ( Holy Ghost at work).
He will put the words in my mouth, and also the exact scripture that I may talk about and let him, her, them know..
    Hallelujah 🙌.

  11. For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.
According to Webster’s dictionary, the word iniquity means gross injustice, wickedness or sin. … In other words, sin is not learned its present at birth. According to Websters dictionary Gall means bold and impudent behavior. These two definitions are of things that Jesus can remove from our lives. I believe these are not acceptable to my God. We need to spread this to all we come across. This is just one of many things Jesus can do. Live Jesus give Jesus2.

  12. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

Satin seeks to sow discord in the Church. We see here that the Chuch maintained its strength by being in one accord. One of the reasons today’s Church pales in strength to the Apostolic Church is that various doctrines have created denominations.

  13. The hungry burden of a new believer.

I’ve seen this kind of light in the eyes of a new believer. Open and concerned of what they just heard. Underrating of the scriptures come to them, so that now all they have is hunger for the word of God, and the realization of the necessity of being baptized.

But we need teachers to teach.

“As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭8:36‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  14. 3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

There will be fiery trials for the church in the endtime-

So many things right now that we are witnessing in America today that is being fulfilled concerning prophecies of the endtime. We are seeing the signs appear every day and many people don’t realize that the time to work for God and the kingdom is getting very short. We have seen many Pastor’s being locked up for having church already with the COVID pandemic and we are seeing the justice system being tested because of the infringement of our constitutional rights to assemble together and practice our religious beliefs. We have seen many ways to have church services in the past year or so, but nothing is as bad as when the politicians will begin to take away our right to assemble together and worship. Many will be tormented and confined to jail because of the fact we will be criminalized society that has to worship in secret from house to house. But there will come a day that the Christians will be persecuted even here in America.

Just like Saul did with Christians of that day, we will be drug out of our homes because we stand for God and his kingdom. It is time to open our mouths and take a stand for the kingdom of God and let the church be the church. We need an old fashion whooping in the Holy Ghost and get some boldness and zeal to face the principalities and rulers of the darkness. We have to be mentally, physically, and spiritually motivated and equipped for the warfare. The question right now is are we going to stand for God or are we going to turn and run? It’s time to rebuild our altars and get into the presence of God to offer our sacrifices.

It’s time to Live Give Jesus2!

  15. 29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?
31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

Philip was an on call missionary. Whatever God called him to do and wherever God called him to be he would go and do that at a moment’s notice. A similar spirit week at all use as a spirit that Philip have. And meek spirit that is willing to uproot and go anywhere to teach anybody the gospel. What I believe would be powerful as for the church to pray for divine appointments and that we would cross paths with people who are hungry so they may hear the word

  16. 4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

By Saul persecuting the church forcing them to scatter, the word of God was also scattered. It was preached wherever they went. Saul thought he was stopping the gospel from spreading but in fact he was doing just the opposite. What the enemy meant for evil, God turned it for good.

  17. hilip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understandest thou what thou readest?

31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

The Importance of Knowing the Word!
Lead us daily to those seeking more of You God. Wherever we are lead us and help us to guide others through Your word.

  18. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
GODS PROMISE, DISCIPLES MISSION, MANS RESPONSE

12 But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.

Apostolic Revival and church growth is a great mystery that JESUS controls. We have PROMISES from JESUS of HIS Kingdom. As disciples we have a CoMission to share JESUS with all that we meet. The results or harvest is up to JESUS.

40 Days of FIRE is a commitment to align ourselves with JESUS and HIS Kingdom that we may be vessels of conduit for HIS purpose to share the LIFE of JESUS with others so they have opportunity to respond.

We witness this beautiful ACT here in chapter 8. Philiip the disciple preached The Kingdom of GOD and JESUS then the people believed and were baptized. Without the peaching there would be no response, without the response there would be no baptism, without baptism there would be no Kingdom addition.

    Also,

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.
36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?
37 And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.

Disciple preached, man believed and JESUS fulfills. Kingdom Addition.

  19. “And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judæa and Samaria, except the apostles.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬
God can and will use pressing circumstances to guide us into His will. Sometimes we have to be shaken out of our comfortable state before we do what God wants us to do.

  20. Acts 8:5 & 35
    5) Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.
    35) Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him JESUS.

Philip Preached Christ – JESUS – to the people in Samaria.
Philip Preached JESUS to the Ethiopian Eunuch.
So whether Preaching to many people or to one individual, it’s the same message. It’s all about JESUS!
So wherever we go, we need to Preach JESUS.

    LIVE JESUS – GIVE JESUS2

  21. “Saul was one of the witnesses, and he agreed completely with the killing of Stephen. A great wave of persecution began that day, sweeping over the church in Jerusalem; and all the believers except the apostles were scattered through the regions of Judea and Samaria.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭8:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God can use anyone for His Kingdom. A thief, a murderer, a gossiper, a backslider, ANYONE. I pray whenever we see people, we see them being filled with the Holt Ghost and being baptized in Jesus name. I pray in we are filled with praise because of this and encouraged to be a witness. Thank you Jesus for the grace and the mercy you so freely give!

  22. Specialized Service

Phillip went to Samaria to preach and baptize. There were miracles also. However, no one was filled with the Holy Ghost. Peter and John were sent, and people started receiving. There are many people who have become convinced that their life is unimportant or useless. Some even consider themselves a burden to society, thinking it would have been better if they had never been born. Nothing could be further from the truth! God has created each of us in a way that is unique and special. Each of us is designed to bring Him glory in a way that no one else can. He wants to accomplish His good works in each of us and through each of us.

God also calls us to specific ministries where we are able to perform our specialized talents in ways distinct from others. Sometimes He will even change our ministries as we mature. He employs tactics and circumstances that work to transform us internally and externally. There are other things that God uses to shape us, but one of the most profound is the influence of our family. This environment creates good and bad situations in our lives. It takes wisdom and maturity to process this influence and to learn and grow.

God has made each of us special and unique. He’s created us in amazing ways and made it possible for us to contribute to what He’s doing in this world. Every person brings something that no one else is able to offer. Rather than making us arrogant, this knowledge should cause us to remain humble as we celebrate our specialized service.

  23. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

Before the 40 Days of Fire started, we had been going through the Bible in chronological order. We learned that the 12 tribes of Israel had become divided. The capitol city of Israel (the 10 tribes) was Samaria and the capitol city of Judah (the 2 tribes) was Jerusalem. We learned that God did not approve of the two separate kingdoms coming together in agreement. (The reason why is because Israel had never gotten rid of the idols of the calves that were set up in Samaria).

When Jesus went to the lady at the well, he addresses all these issues and let the woman know that the Samaritans didn’t even know what they worshipped but the Jews at least knew what they worshipped. Jesus planted the seed here in Samaria several years before Phillip came. Now we got Phillip here in Samaria bringing back the lost tribes of Israel. This is a miracle

  24. Acts 8:4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went everywhere preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them. And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many itaken with the palsies, and that were lame, were healed. And there was great joy in that city.

    Mark 16:17 And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;

God’s work prospers in that the gospel is widely spread outside Jerusalem,

It’s our turn to spread the Gospel in our City and surrounding cities in Jesus Name!

  25. “And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:36‬ ‭KJV

Hallelujah!!!! What joy it is to see people receive revelation and obey the word Of God! Our labor will never be our n vain.
“Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭15:10‬ ‭KJV

  26. 3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.
4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

While being persecuted, Phillip didn’t run and hide, rather he began to teach and preach Jesus and there was a great harvest of souls as the result. Then God sent him to the Ethiopian. If we will give Jesus when the chance arises, God will see that he can send us to others as well. We each have a testimony to give and it will be a help to others to find this apostolic doctrine.

  27. 18 And when Simon saw that through laying on of the apostles’ hands the Holy Ghost was given, he offered them money,
19 Saying, Give me also this power, that on whomsoever I lay hands, he may receive the Holy Ghost.

The Holy Ghost is a gift from God and cannot be purchased with money. The Holy Spirit comes to those who repent from their sins and baptized in Jesus name.

  28. 4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.
We are to preach the word everyday to everyone we come in contact with. In order to win more souls for the Kingdom of God we have to be unified in our efforts to reach them and to preach to them about the one true living God.

  29. 4But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went.

Even when threatened, the believers continued to spread the Word. We should do the same. We can’t let the enemy, friends or relatives to belittle us, for being believers of Jesus. Stay encouraged and stand up against the enemy.

  30. 27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet.

There are people that are searching out the scriptures, and praying for someone to lead them the way. Are we going to be like Philip and be sensitive to the spirit of God and be led by His Spirit, so that He can lead us to someone?

When Philip expounded the truth, the eunuch immediately took the opportunity to be baptized. If we will be follow the leading of the Holy Ghost, God will lead us to people that are hungry to be filled with His Spirit and to be baptized in His name

  31. Acts of the Apostles 8:4
But the believers who were scattered preached the Good News about Jesus wherever they went.

OUTREACH. People need to hear the good news of Jesus who forgives us and loves us no matter what we’ve done.
    Thank you Jesus

  32. Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

Reading these scriptures I am reminded when I was growing we would have church in a Walmart or grocery store parking lot. The church would take a flatbed trailer and have the music instruments on it and the praise team singing and then the preacher would preach. In the meantime church is going on and people would stop and hear the word of God and many received the Holy Ghost.. What a time of outreach that was….we never know when someone wants to hear the truth but maybe is too scared of the church house and we can teach them and led them so they are comfortable and will come to the church…God help me to be a witness for you and do your will not mine…

  33. “Then answered Simon, and said, Pray ye to the Lord for me, that none of these things which ye have spoken come upon me. And they, when they had testified and preached the word of the Lord, returned to Jerusalem, and preached the gospel in many villages of the Samaritans.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:24-25‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The truth of God must be spread. There are some people like Simon hungry for power and forgiveness. Phillip main goal was to find and teach people the word of God. God has passed the role on spreading the word of God to the church. I pray that God will give me wisdom and words to teach the word of God to my friends and family.

  34. Acts Chapter 8

1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

2 And devout men carried Stephen to his burial, and made great lamentation over him.

3 As for Saul, he made havock of the church, entering into every house, and haling men and women committed them to prison.

4 Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word.

5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

Let us look at contrasts Saul verses Phillip. Saul saw favor given to him at the stoning of Stephen by the garments being held by him. He thought he was doing a good deeds. He thought the body of Christ should and could be stamped out.

Philip on the other hand was full of the Holy Spirit and had a relationship with Jesus. He was not afraid to preach the Gospel of Christ Jesus to all those that would listen.

Jesus allowed Saul to do what he was doing to scatter His flock to other areas of the world. Because most of the Body of Jesus was concentrated in Jerusalem
and through persecutions the people scattered and was preaching the word.

Saul was being used to antagonize the body of Christ.
Philip was being used as a missionary to the city of Samaria and taught the words of Jesus.

Saul would be given papers or orders to capture Christians in Damascus.
Phillip: Verse 26 And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.
27 And he arose and went: and, behold, a man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who had the charge of all her treasure, and had come to Jerusalem for to worship,

28 Was returning, and sitting in his chariot read Esaias the prophet Isa 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth..

29 Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot.
Phillip taught the man of Ethiopia, an eunuch of great authority under Candace queen of the Ethiopians Phillip did as instructed and taught the man. The eunuch was baptized in Jesus name and when he arrived in Ethiopia He told Queen Candace and the nation received the Gospel.

Who will you talk to and lead them into salvation through the Gospel and cause a large group of people to Jesus?

  35. 36 And as they went on their way, they came unto a certain water: and the eunuch said, See, here is water; what doth hinder me to be baptized?

There is a hunger in our world for Jesus, for salvation. It is up to us as His disciples to show them this gospel!

  36. “The Holy Spirit had not yet come upon any of them, for they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. Then Peter and John laid their hands upon these believers, and they received the Holy Spirit.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭8:16-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s takes all three. Like we learned in such an elementary way that children can understand this past weekend, it takes 3 steps to get into Heaven.

  37. 1 And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.

The church has to be scattered to save them from great persecution, but in the scattering they were able to reach a larger area and more territories. The scattering only broadened the network of believers! Sometimes we may not understand the exact direction that the Lord is leading but we must pray, seek and follow his guiding hand!

30 And Philip ran thither to him, and heard him read the prophet Esaias, and said, Understand thou what thou readest?

Philip explained scripture to this man and about getting baptized, so the enuch saw water and wanted right then and there to get baptized! He was hungry for God and Philip helped him to understand about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. So many people are hungry for God and it is our job to help them find the Lord. I pray in the 40 days of fire we all bring someone to the POFW.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

We must be so persuaded ourselves. We must wholeheartedly believe of this message that we proclaim that even our adversaries an those who stand against may believe when we proclaim this truth. The word of God will defend itself. It is Truth. It is life. It is life giving.

  40. 16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.
Did you received the Holy Spirit since you believe?

  41. “The eunuch said, “Tell me, who is the prophet talking about: himself or some other?” Philip grabbed his chance. Using this passage as his text, he preached Jesus to him.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:34-35‬ ‭MSG‬‬

This Scripture means that, Philip was reaching out to a lost soul and that lost soul became hungry for The Lord Jesus Christ and later was Baptized In Jesus Name.

  42. “Therefore they that were scattered abroad went every where preaching the word. Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:4-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

They were determined to ensure that the word of god was being taught. We have to have a boldness in us to where it doesn’t matter where we are who we are are with we will speak the word of god when the opportunity presents itself. This world is lost and it is our job as his disciples to win souls to Christ. We can’t be afraid to speak up. We have to walk in boldness. We can’t be afraid when it is just us alone. Regardless of if we are alone or together we should speak the truth and draw in souls to Christ.

  43. “As they rode along, they came to some water, and the eunuch said, “Look! There’s some water! Why can’t I be baptized?””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭8:36‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There are so many things going on in this world now, many are in pain lost in fear, dealing with a whole bunch of doubt and confusion. Many are looking to be saved, to be brought into the presence of God brought into his peace, we just never will know until we go out a preach his word. I pray tonight that we have faith in God, I pray that the Lord fills us with wisdom, strength, courage and knowledge as we go out into this hurtful, wicked world preaching his word to those willing and seeking to listen. As we speak to those lost I pray we remember how easy it was for God to forgive you and save you, and for them to know God can do it for them as well.

  44. 17 Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

We as His people are anointed! The scripture I put above said that when their hands were laid on him they received the Holy Ghost. I pray tonight that you believe you can!!!

  45. 5 Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria, and preached Christ unto them.

6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.

8 And there was great joy in that city.

When faced with what man would call impossible situations and in moments of hopelessness it is comforting to hear of God doing the impossible through someone.

Find is why it’s important to talk about all God is doing. It gives hope to others and it leads them to seek those that God is using. Which in turn leads them to Him. Everything is for the glory of God. Testimonies build moral and Joy it shifts the atmosphere.

  46. 6 And the people with one accord gave heed unto those things which Philip spake, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did.

We can do great things through Jesus. It’s not of our own power, but it is him. God can use each of us to preach his word. Others need to hear the word and his children are those ones who will spread it. Obstacles will come your way, but God will bring us through it all.

  47. “The Holy Spirit said to Philip, “Go over and walk along beside the carriage.” Philip ran over and heard the man reading from the prophet Isaiah. Philip asked, “Do you understand what you are reading?””
Acts of the Apostles 8:29-30 NLT

At any moment God can and will use anyone to reach His people. All we have to do is obey God and He will guide us every step of the way. Let us arise with boldness, faith, and confidence in God. He will lead us to people that He is calling us to reach for. God doesn’t want a single person to perish but for everyone to be saved. Let us compel everyone to the goodness of the Lord.

  48. Intimacy with Jesus will ensure the proper use of the Spirit .We should not carelessly use the Name of Jesus, demons are subject to the authority of Jesus Christ, who lives and operate within us. No human action can purchase the power of the Holy Spirit. That would be pure evil.

Simon sought to get in on the action by offering Peter money, and Peter told him that he would perish with his money.

Nothing can confine, limit, or control the Holy Spirit.
    Thank God for His Spirit.

  49. The message is clear and simple

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and began at the same scripture, and preached unto him Jesus.

So many complicated heretics and theologies turn the attention away from the clear and simple gospel. It’s Jesus. It has always been Jesus and him crucified and it will always be Jesus. When we are witnessing to someone let our message be clear and simple. Mixing our testimony with the word of God. Our adversary would like to complicate the message so that it is hard to understand but it is not.

    I preach Jesus.

  50. “Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked. “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:30-31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

We all have to start somewhere….Not long before this particular time Philip was also a bit clueless about God, his plan for man, and the gift God had for all people. Somebody taught him just as he found himself teaching the eunuch. It’s not only our goal to learn what God’s word says but it’s also our duty to teach others along the way. We should never stop growing spiritually and as we grow we should take those around us and teach them to grow also, imparting the knowledge you’ve gained upon them along the way.

  51. 22 Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven thee.

It’s sad how Simon was given a fresh start and still persisted to behave wickedly. Thank God we all still have the ability to repent. Simon, was a well respected sorcerer of the people and everyone looked to him for counsel. When Philip comes in to town it changes everything. This makes him think that maybe he could buy his way in to ownership. If Simon was to be filled with the Holy Ghost it was a gift from God and free. You can’t put a price on something Jesus already paid for on the cross.

Simon could of asked how to repent if he didn’t understand what it truly meant. Instead all he wanted was Phillip to pray that the bad outcome Phillip laid out for him didn’t come to pass. That’s like saying I hope you’re wrong. Some will see the miraculous all around them and still have this gall but without change they will continue to see no change in themselves. It’s insanity not to repent.

  52. “And Saul was consenting unto his death. And at that time there was a great persecution against the church which was at Jerusalem; and they were all scattered abroad throughout the regions of Judaea and Samaria, except the apostles.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭8:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

They were all scattered, except the apostles. The apostles stayed together. They knew the importance of being with those of like precious faith. They walked through many a hard time before this and knew they had to have unity.

  53. 31 And he said, How can I, except some man should guide me? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.

This is what our world is desperately in need of today. Guidance and teaching of God’s word. They need the church to rise up to go teach, guide and baptize those who believe. We are all capable of it! Through prayer and willingness we can boldly speak about Jesus, the One that has changed our lives for greater and Can to the same for others.

  54. 7 For unclean spirits, crying with loud voice, came out of many that were possessed with them: and many taken with palsies, and that were lame, were healed.
8 And there was great joy in that city.

This is what I want for Fort Worth! This is what I want to see!! This is the testimony we Will hear of and be apart of!!

15 Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
16 (For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)

    . . . Again. . .

👆🏼Proof that it is not about the money! And if in your mind it is about the money, whether you are taking money or giving money, if you think that that is all the preacher and God think about then your spirit is not in the right place. “. . . neither part nor lot in this matter: for thy heart is not right in the sight of God. . .”
