Acts Chapter 11 – FIRE2 – 11/40

Day 11: Acts Ch.11. Although persecuted and scattered, the early church continues to share Christ and grow. As our culture becomes more opposed to the Christian faith, we must not become discouraged from telling others about Jesus. Pray for wisdom and boldness as we seek and find daily opportunities to share the Gospel.

Acts 11

And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,

I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:

Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

10 And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

11 And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.

12 And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house:

13 And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;

14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

20 And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.

21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

22 Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

23 Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

24 For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

25 Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

27 And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

30 Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

Some people still wants to judge people by their past, we’ll shake it off for your past doesn’t define your future. God show us that once He cleanses you, you are clean and no one should say otherwise. This is the moment gentiles got the Holy Ghost and were baptize in Jesus Name. Therefor grafted into His Vine!!

  2. Verse 14 MSG “He’ll tell you something that will save your life—in fact, you and everyone you care for.’” Same verse NIV “He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.’” This is for us today, just imagine what a celebration we would have for everyone we care for, everyone in our household being saved! It all streamed from the obedience and faith Cornelius had in what the angel told him to do. The way we LIVE-GIVE JESUS does matter. Acts 16:31 AMP says “And they answered, “Believe in the Lord Jesus [as your personal Savior and entrust yourself to Him] and you will be saved, you and your household [if they also believe].” Our Proverb for today says in verse 3 AMP “Through [skillful and godly] wisdom a house [a life, a home, a family] is built, And by understanding it is established [on a sound and good foundation],”.

  3. “He will bring you a message through which you and all your household will be saved.’” Jesus oh Jesus hear me today please let me and my extended household be saved. Let us all yearn to see you in heaven or the rapture. Live JesusGiveJesus2

  4. “When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:18, 21‬ ‭KJV

A message our region needs to hear. Salvation has come to you and your household. His love and grace is calling all people.
Revival has begun in our hearts. That fire 🔥 of the Holy Ghost needs to spread in our region.

“For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”
    ‭‭John‬ ‭3:17‬ ‭KJV

  5. 12 And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house:

14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

For the spirit leads us to go where others will not go.

I have found that Hod is a great and mighty God, He is omnipresent, omniscient, and omnipotent. He can do all things and by Him was all things created. He spoke every creature into existence and created man in his own image. I find that when the voice of God speaks to us and we heed his guidance, we will have to step into places most people will not go. Just like Peter, the Lord led him to Cornelius’s house and it was forbidden to mix Jew and gentile. But the Holy Ghost is no respect or of persons, when the spirit falls and those that are willing to receive, God will save anyone. We have to get in the mindset that our purpose is to save whosoever will.

It’s time to be bold and not afraid of man, because what God has called, He will equip them to do His will if they are willing. We have to gain confidence in our abilities while God is directing us. Nothing in this world can harm us, if God is for us then who can be against us. Let the fire of the Holy Ghost lead us to the great harvest in this endtime.

    Live Give Jesus2!

    40 Days of Fire2!

  6. Acts 11:17-18 & 19-21
    17) Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?
    18) When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

    19) Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.
    20) And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus.
    21) And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned to the Lord.

    “Whosoever”
God gave them the like gift as he did unto us.
God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
They spake unto the Grecians, preaching the Lord Jesus. A great number believed, and turned to the Lord.

God is no respecter of persons. (Acts 10:34).
He’s longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9b)
He wants all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:4)
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that “Whosoever” believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (St. John 3;16)
And it shall come to pass, that “Whosoever” shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Acts 2:21)
For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For “Whosoever” shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Rom. 10:12-13)

God is no respecter of persons. He doesn’t want anyone to perish. He wants all men to be saved. To died on the Cross for each and everyone of us. So anyone, “Whosoever,” can call on the name of the Lord – JESUS – and be saved.

Thank You JESUS that Salvation is for Everyone – “Whosoever”

  7. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

The first term for Christian was not a declaration made by those claiming, but rather they were called Christians because of their lifestyle and the way went about preaching the gospel and living their lives. The term Christianity should not be something that we walk around claiming to be but rather something that we are called by our daily lifestyle. It should be evident through the fruit of the Spirit and the gifts of the Holy Ghost. The way we interact with people and how we go about doing things should be as a sign of who we follow.

  8. Acts 11:12-13 AMP
“The Spirit told me to go with them without the slightest hesitation. So these six brothers also went with me and we went to the man’s house. And Cornelius told us how he had seen the angel standing in his house, saying, ‘Send word to Joppa and have Simon, who is also called Peter, brought here;”
    ‭‭
Both men were obedient to the Word from the Lord without hesitation. When you are yielding to the Word of God, He will never lead you astray. He will be with you every step of the way.

  9. 21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

When we are serving the Lord there is great favor that will be upon us. It’s time to work church!

  10. 19 Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

The faith in the written Word and had been a Jewish establishment, and the revelation of the New Covenant needed be established first in the Jewish inner circle to maintain continuity. At this point we can see the development of the Church’s as a Christian faith.

  11. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

    Christians
Christ like. So many times we clarify individuals Baptist, Pentecostals, Methodist etc. History has brought these names as being denominations of a group of people. Yet there is no place in the word of God people were called Pentecostal. If we truly are to live give Jesus 2 we must truly be as the disciples and live up to being a Christian. Christ like. Christians that have the experience of Pentecost and spreading the Apostles doctrine the Acts 2:38 message. It truly does not stop there, the apostles went and did more every day for the Kingdom. More than anything I want to be known as a Christian in everything I do. Daily I must clothe myself with His Word and reflect Him as the disciples did. In a coffee shop the other day with some family members a young woman sat down with us . She was the assistant to a local pastor and shared what her passion was . Talk turned to the book I have been working on for some time now . She asked what did I want my message to be ? I sat there for a moment and closed my eyes , tears began to flow as I thought back over my life and what I truly wanted my message to be . As I opened my eyes and began to speak with emotion I conveyed that I wanted individuals to know that there is hope and that no matter what walk of life they have come from God can make a change in their life. That God does not give up. That what ever circumstances we find ourselves in God is still there.
Today as I reflect on the scriptures over the last few days and each day how God was using the disciples and the change in Saul of Tarsus life and the many other lives that were changed .I am more truly convinced again today we must continue daily sharing the Word and leading souls into truth .
Yes before our conversation was finished the young woman made a statement, you all must have the Holy Ghost and yes this led to sharing the Acts 2:38 message which she already believed in .
Yes more than anything I want to be a Christian.
Go into all the world …….

  12. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
2 And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him

As church leaders our picture perfect wishlist utopia would be for folks to just “trust us” but that’s not the case now and that wasn’t the case then. If anyone had the “right” to be arrogant and have the attitude of “just trust me on this” mentality it was Peter. He was the Apostle of Jesus Christ. He had the Keys to the Kingdom. God had verified his ministry by raising the dead. He had enough faith to walk on water. He was the preacher of the Day of Pentecost BOTT Conference. He coulda said, “Listen here fellers, I’m the man” and he could have shamed everyone into submission…But he didn’t. He humbly allowed these brethren to bring their accusation and he calmly rehearsed the entire matter openly starting from the beginning.

As leaders we need this same openness and transparency with people. If someone brings an accusation, we should simply and humbly reveal the situation.

  13. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    THE HAND OF THE LORD

21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

The first apostles understood the fact that they were limited in their IMPACT on their own ability, accord or actions. When we allow JESUS to be LORD and order our steps we align ourselves with HIS plan, will and purpose.

The Mission of The POFW is “Impacting Lives to Change the World” we learn from this verse that our greatest opportunity to IMPACT Fort Worth and the World is if “the Hand of the LORD is with us”.

The Hand of the LORD is an asset and power that will reveal and produce a great number of believers (Baptisms in JESUS Name and souls filled with the Holy Ghost).

Is the hand of the LORD with me today is the question and inspection I seek to confirm today and every day. Is the FIRE on my Altar burning? Is the FIRE of the Word still burning in me? Is the FIRE of the Holy Ghost still burning in me? Is the FIRE of my Worship still burning? Is the FIRE of GODs will still burning to guide me?

  14. “And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:48‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“and when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The first Christians were baptized in Jesus name.
Just the previous chapter before they were all baptized in Jesus name, including the gentiles. So what makes us Christians with out being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Nothing.

True Christians relate to the Bible in all of their references. God is true. The word is true. Baptizing in Jesus is biblical standard for a Christians. They were first called Christians in Antioch.

  15. We as the Church should be prayerful about what God desires vs what we’re comfortable with. Limiting our belief in what God can do and what’s “acceptable” in our own eyes can greatly hinder the growth of the church. Understanding that when the harvest comes they’re going to be rough, not in “church” clothes, every color hair you can imagine, tattoos and piercings everywhere, and all manor of speech. We need to open our hearts and SEE with GOD’S EYES the beautiful souls of these people and take them by their marred hands and lead them to the altar and the baptismal water.
The world has been cruel to them. They don’t need judgement from the church. They need love. A hospital doesn’t turn the wounded away because of how they look or act. The church should be the same way.
Example: I invited someone to church that had NEVER BEEN to a church before. They frequented night clubs and that all they knew when it came to dancing and expressing themselves.
So when the Spirit of the Lord started to move during Worship in the service did they praise dance and worship like everyone else? No! They felt the Spirit and started to dance the only way they knew how!
When my deaf son gets up to the altar and worships when he feels the Spirit of the Lord it may look different but God has told me that his offering of praise was accepted by God!! Everybody worships different and we need to break God out of this box we’ve put Him in and share Him with the masses!!! Glory!!!

  16. 16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

The word of God is sharp and powerful. If we will daily commit His word to our memory, when we are telling others about Him, those words will come alive in our Spirit. Being instant in season and out of season means meeting needs as they arrive. Gods word equips us to do that.

    Get connected to the Word!

  17. 18: where they heard these things they held their peace and glorify God saying God hath also granted to the gentle repentance.
    —-/
    Hallelujah 👍🙌🙌🙌
    .. when the heard…

I can have all the good intentions, but God intentions follow actions.
If I want them to be save, I must speak and not keep silent. Because when they hear the word,,, that’s when things change.
That’s when the choice have been presented .

    Choose this day…

  18. 16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:17, In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people; your sons and daughters will prophesy, your young men will see visions, your old men will dream dreams.

  19. Acts 11: 22-23-24 Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem; and sent fourth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.
    (23) Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cling into the Lord.
    (24) For he was a righteous man, and full of the Holy Spirit and of faith; and many people, were added unto the Lord.
The church at Antioch and the new name; Christians
Barnabas was good leader, We as a church that do good how many people could we add to the church.
We are the church , we are leaders, we are workers and servers.
    You can use me Lord.

  20. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Salvation is the same now as it was for the original apostles-for the Jewish, the 1/2 Jewish and the Gentiles. After the great harvest of souls, the people needed to be taught the word so they would be rooted and grounded in the truth. This is what we continue to do today! Praise God for our apostolic church!

  21. 18 When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

When we let God work thru us it all works out so much better.. we have to be a light to the lost and the ones that have left the truth. Yes the ones that have the left and are backslid we want to tell them what they are doing doing wrong and they can’t do this and they can’t do that but if we let God handle them and we pray for them and show them love they will return.

  22. Acts 11
26 And when he had found him, he brought him into Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

I have gone to many denominations of churches in my life. It is so sad that the truth is not being taught about the Pentecost experience. The truth is told in all of Acts! After my eyes have been opened at the POFW, I want everyone to have the Holy Ghost. It really is amazing how so many denominations do not know the truth. The truth will set us free! I personally am learning more daily so God can work through me. It has been a couple years for me now to know the truth. I was baptized in Jesus name on Nov. 24, 2019, less than two years ago! I love our church and I thank God for the POFW.

  23. 16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

Believing is a prerequisite to recieving the Holy Ghost. I asked a young woman at Dilliards If she had recieved the Holy Ghost since she had believed. She said “yes” I aked her if she had spoken in tongues. She said “no” I explained Acts 2 to her. She hesitated a moment and then said ; ” I would Like to receive that experience”. People are hungry for God. Lord Jesus lead us to them.

  24. v17 ” Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?”
God still desires that the Church reach all people of the world with His truth.
” God is no respecter of persons ” Acts 10:34

  25. “However, some of the believers who went to Antioch from Cyprus and Cyrene began preaching to the Gentiles about the Lord Jesus. The power of the Lord was with them, and a large number of these Gentiles believed and turned to the Lord.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭11:20-21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

These believers went places most Jews would never dare to go. They were pioneers for the Lord and accepted His challenge of spreading the Gospel to the Gentiles. Of course they faced adversity, but they went anyways. This is a great example of how we bring souls into the Kingdom of God. Go where others neglect to go. Reach out to the souls others pass by. For there will always be a great harvest in places which seem hopeless.

  26. 21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

Because the hand of the Lord was with them, their ministry was blessed and multiplied greatly.

You cannot turn people to the gospel unless the hand of the Lord is with you.

In order for the hand of the Lord to be with you, you must live and holy and repented life.

  27. 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

We have the power given by god to speak things into existence by great faith!! so with saying that, instead of saying “we have loved ones who are lost and need to be saved.” We should say “our lost loved ones shall be saved, they shall be filled with the Holy Ghost!”
It is time and it is up to us to speak it and believe that it is going to happen!!

  28. ““Just then three men showed up at the house where I was staying, sent from Caesarea to get me. The Spirit told me to go with them, no questions asked. So I went with them, I and six friends, to the man who had sent for me. He told us how he had seen an angel right in his own house, real as his next-door neighbor, saying, ‘Send to Joppa and get Simon, the one they call Peter. He’ll tell you something that will save your life—in fact, you and everyone you care for.’”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:11-14‬ ‭MSG‬‬

This Scripture means that, That when The Holy Spirit said Go to The Disciples they went and saved their Souls. Just like today We can do what The Disciples did let The Holy Spirit lead us to a Lost Soul so They can be Saved.

  29. 21 And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

When God’s hand is with you, you can do great things. Moving mountains is nothing when the Lord is on your side. Healing the sick is a piece of cake when God is in your corner. Don’t let the enemy try to get you to doubt the power of God. God still has all power even in this day and time. As long as we are on the Lord’s side and doing according to his word, we will come out victorious.

  30. “When he arrived and saw this evidence of God’s blessing, he was filled with joy, and he encouraged the believers to stay true to the Lord. Barnabas was a good man, full of the Holy Spirit and strong in faith. And many people were brought to the Lord.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭11:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

When we are in the blessing of the Lord we should be joyful. Praise him for the blessing he has given us and praise him for the Holy Ghost. Barnabas was joyful when he saw the works and blessing of the Lord. Let rejoice for these forty days of fire.

  31. 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

Who are we to “withstand God”? You see we are so often so busy thinking and believing things should be one way that we allow ourselves to distracted from the fact that God can do anything.

It’s one thing to be so wrapped up in your way when it comes to this life but it is totally sin when we are so wrapped up in our way when it comes to the kingdom.

If your song is not sung or we don’t don’t pray your way or fail to say hi because we are about our fathers business. Don’t get offended get in the game. It’s not your way but maybe you will get out what you put in.

During these 40 days let’s put in our all and not hinder God because we can’t see what He’s doing.

  32. 17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

He is our all and deserves our all. I pray tonight that we are giving Him the praise that He deserves!

  33. 16 Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

17 Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

  34. Acts Chapter 11

6 Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

7 And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

8 But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

9 But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

God was not talking about kosher or unclean foods. I have heard this statement interpreted God was saying gave the ok for all meats from his creation to be eaten. Yes Israel dose kosher but we don’t. If I was eating with a person who only eats kosher than I would eat kosher meat also to maintain a friendship. This act may even draw him to Jesus by our love.

Peter understood what Jesus was speaking about concerning Jews and gentiles.
as unclean gentiles. By obedience Peter entered a gentile home which was a Roman. His family and friends received the baptism of the holy Ghost. Then were baptized in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins. That opened up the very thing that we are a part of the true body of God. This brought the Christian Jews and gentiles together as the body of Christ for Jesus blood ran through both groups. This is taught as one new man.

    Ephesians 2:15-16, 19-22 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
    Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
    And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

  35. 14 Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

They received the Word of the Lord and got repented! They were saved that day!

  36. 15 And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

As Peter began to speak… I guess that Peter was lifting up Jesus, and we… maybe our speech doesn’t lift up Jesus…

  37. The term Christian?

26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

There are folk all around that will call
themselves Christians but their actions do it represent Jesus at all. The root word Christian here came from a group of his followers that acted just like him and were given this name because of their actions. Your actions define who you are not your title.

  38. “And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Many things can happen when the hand of the lord is with us. Nothing is impossible when the lord is in it. Always walk in Christ and seek his face and make sure that in everything we do he is with us.

  39. Acts of the Apostles 11:15
“As I began to speak,” Peter continued, “the Holy Spirit fell on them, just as he fell on us at the beginning.
Thank you Jesus for the the Holy Ghost

  40. “And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Becoming Christ like is not a quit as easy as some think. It’s not just something that is given or offered. Becoming Christians is a process. When we stay in the process and let it be fulfilled , that is not hen others start to notice and glorify God.

  41. “When the others heard this, they stopped objecting and began praising God. They said, “We can see that God has also given the Gentiles the privilege of repenting of their sins and receiving eternal life.””
Acts of the Apostles 11:18 NLT

When Jesus came in flesh to the world, He did not come to destroy but to bring salvation to everyone. So that we may have life abundantly with Jesus Christ.

  42. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? When they heard these things , they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
    Acts 11:17,18

For there is no difference between a Jew and a Greek : for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:12,13

  43. 29 Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

30 Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

It really is more blessed than to receive. The Lord will see to it that you reap what you sow.

  44. 2But when Peter arrived back in Jerusalem, the Jewish believersb criticized him. 3“You entered the home of Gentilesc and even ate with them!” they said.

No matter what, there will always be someone who criticize you. You can be doing a very good thing, and criticism comes. Just stand firm with God and all will be good. Don’t be easily discouraged and move forward.

  45. “Then I thought of the Lord’s words when he said, ‘John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’ And since God gave these Gentiles the same gift he gave us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, who was I to stand in God’s way?””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭11:16-17‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If God was reaching out to the Gentiles, who was Peter that he could withstand God? Peter recognized the importance of sensing where God is going and heading that same direction, instead of trying to persuade God to go your direction.

It is a glorious thing when God’s people will allow their prejudices and traditions to be overcome by God’s Word and God’s work.

  46. “Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost. Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God? When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:16-18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It is a glorious thing when God’s people will allow their prejudices and traditions to be overcome by God’s Word and God’s work.

  47. 26 And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
It’s time everyone gets back to house of God we can’t forsake the house of God. Everytime I miss church I feel like I’m spiritually starving to death. I can’t imagine being away. We gotta get back to the house. We gotta back to teaching Bible studies the Lost is starving to death.

  48. 28 And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

This is a interesting verse, signifying people prophesying even in the early church. I also feel as though it was not only prophecy given, but also possibly tongues of interpretation by the phrase, “. . . signified by the Spirit. . . “. Intriguing, especially that it came to past! Literally a testimony that it happened before and can happen again.
