Acts Chapter 19 – FIRE2 – 19/40

Day 19: Acts Ch. 19. Paul knew God was working in the midst of the Gentiles and he simply joined God in what he was called to do. This is the key to effective work for the Lord, finding where God is working and joining Him in that work. Ask God to help you be sensitive to what He is doing and willing to be used to advance His Kingdom.

Acts 19

And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

And all the men were about twelve.

And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.

But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one Tyrannus.

10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

18 And many that believed came, and confessed, and shewed their deeds.

19 Many of them also which used curious arts brought their books together, and burned them before all men: and they counted the price of them, and found it fifty thousand pieces of silver.

20 So mightily grew the word of God and prevailed.

21 After these things were ended, Paul purposed in the spirit, when he had passed through Macedonia and Achaia, to go to Jerusalem, saying, After I have been there, I must also see Rome.

22 So he sent into Macedonia two of them that ministered unto him, Timotheus and Erastus; but he himself stayed in Asia for a season.

23 And the same time there arose no small stir about that way.

24 For a certain man named Demetrius, a silversmith, which made silver shrines for Diana, brought no small gain unto the craftsmen;

25 Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

26 Moreover ye see and hear, that not alone at Ephesus, but almost throughout all Asia, this Paul hath persuaded and turned away much people, saying that they be no gods, which are made with hands:

27 So that not only this our craft is in danger to be set at nought; but also that the temple of the great goddess Diana should be despised, and her magnificence should be destroyed, whom all Asia and the world worshippeth.

28 And when they heard these sayings, they were full of wrath, and cried out, saying, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

29 And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.

30 And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.

31 And certain of the chief of Asia, which were his friends, sent unto him, desiring him that he would not adventure himself into the theatre.

32 Some therefore cried one thing, and some another: for the assembly was confused: and the more part knew not wherefore they were come together.

33 And they drew Alexander out of the multitude, the Jews putting him forward. And Alexander beckoned with the hand, and would have made his defence unto the people.

34 But when they knew that he was a Jew, all with one voice about the space of two hours cried out, Great is Diana of the Ephesians.

35 And when the townclerk had appeased the people, he said, Ye men of Ephesus, what man is there that knoweth not how that the city of the Ephesians is a worshipper of the great goddess Diana, and of the image which fell down from Jupiter?

36 Seeing then that these things cannot be spoken against, ye ought to be quiet, and to do nothing rashly.

37 For ye have brought hither these men, which are neither robbers of churches, nor yet blasphemers of your goddess.

38 Wherefore if Demetrius, and the craftsmen which are with him, have a matter against any man, the law is open, and there are deputies: let them implead one another.

39 But if ye enquire any thing concerning other matters, it shall be determined in a lawful assembly.

40 For we are in danger to be called in question for this day’s uproar, there being no cause whereby we may give an account of this concourse.

41 And when he had thus spoken, he dismissed the assembly.

  1. Acts Chapter 19

Day 19: Acts Ch. 19. Paul knew God was working in the midst of the Gentiles and he simply joined God in what he was called to do. This is the key to effective work for the Lord, finding where God is working and joining Him This is our quest asking God where He wants us. This should be done every day for we may not know who we may meet or influence.

  2. 1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

This is the greatest time for the apostolic church, if we stay focused on God and what He is doing in this end time. We are seeing people from all walks of life and all types of religious backgrounds walking into our church hungry for something they haven’t heard before. And if they heard of it, they are now seeing the truth of the revelation of Jesus. We have always wanted to see God pour out his spirit onto all flesh and see a great soul revival. The exception to this is simple, we the church can not stop what we are doing and wait on God, we have to lift our voices and we have to preach Jesus Christ.

It’s up to each of us to believe strongly what we preach and let the world know that there is something greater than materialistic things and a way that if far more productive than any position in this world and that is Jesus Christ. We have to make it known at every step of this journey. Don’t be fearful of rejection, because when you preach the truth, the truth will set folks free.

  3. 15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

It reminds me of what brother Mahaney was talking about last night in prayer, evil spirits free from the presence of God and if we are baptized in that name and they are terrified of us. In this context, these men were trying to cast out evil spirits who did not know God and did not identify with the Christ and thus brought the possession on themselves.

  4. 13. Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.

    14. And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.

    15. And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?

They tried to GIVE a JESUS that they didn’t LIVE – and failed miserably.
You can’t Give the Jesus that Pastor Lives or the Evangelist Lives or Momma Lives. You can only Give the Jesus YOU are Living.

  5. Verse 2 MSG “The first thing he said was, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? Did you take God into your mind only, or did you also embrace him with your heart? Did he get inside you?” “We’ve never even heard of that—a Holy Spirit? God within us?” Matthew 22:37 AMP says “And Jesus replied to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ So many still need to take the next step and as Paul did, we too must share that with them as verse 4 AMP says “Paul said, “John performed a baptism of repentance, continually telling the people to believe in Him who was coming after him, that is, [to confidently accept and joyfully believe] in Jesus [the Messiah and Savior].”

Later in the chapter we read about how resistance, discrediting, speaking evil and disturbances can and will arise against what you stand for; but, this is where we have to remember Ephesians 6:13 AMP “Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious].”

  6. ACTS 19:13, 15-16 “Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, “We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.””

‭ “And the evil spirit answered and said, “Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?” Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.”

There is power in the name of Jesus. However, you have to have a relationship with Jesus to be able to use that power or it can backfire on you as they found out.

  7. Porque pueblo somos y ovejas de su rebano tomemos en cuenta que tenemos que valorar el Haber logrado ser bautizados en agua y espiritu departe de JESUS para la conservacion de nuestras almas tenemos que continuar con su lets do.

  8. Acts 19:1-7 (NLT)
    1) While Apollos was in Corinth, Paul traveled through the interior regions until he reached Ephesus, on the coast, where he found several believers.
    2) Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed? he asked them. No, they replied, we haven’t even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.
    3) Then what baptism did you experience? he asked. And they replied, The baptism of John.
    4) Paul said, John’s baptism called for REPENTANCE From Sin. But John himself told the people to believe in the one who would come later, meaning JESUS.
    5) As soon as they heard this, they were BAPTIZED In The Name Of The Lord JESUS.
    6) Then when Paul had laid his hands on them, the HOLY SPIRIT Came On Them, and they Spoke In Other Tongues and prophesied.
    7) There were about twelve men in all.

This is what Salvation is all about. Seeing people Saved.
People REPENTING of their sins, being BAPTIZED in JESUS Name, and being filled with the gift of the HOLY GHOST!!

  9. 10 And this continued by the space of two years; so that all they which dwelt in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.

We just contemplated the vastness of the disciples ministries the other day and here it is again. They were determined to rapidly spread the gospel of Jesus. How determined are we to reach this city? This nation? This world?

  10. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    LIVE JESUS = KNOW JESUS

13 Then certain of the vagabond Jews, exorcists, took upon them to call over them which had evil spirits the name of the Lord Jesus, saying, We adjure you by Jesus whom Paul preacheth.
14 And there were seven sons of one Sceva, a Jew, and chief of the priests, which did so.
15 And the evil spirit answered and said, Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are ye?
16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

This passage affirms what Bro. Mahaney was speaking of at Prayer on Saturday Night. The devil should know my know and who I am associated with. When I falthfully and whole heartedly LIVE JESUS even the devil knows and is subject to me by the authority of the Name of JESUS.

I believe verse 16 is why there are so many weak christian leaders today. To demonstrate Spiritual Authority we must have Spiritual Authority, to have Spiritual Authority we must LIVE JESUS, to LIVE JESUS means that HE is in me and I am in HIM.

Do evil spirts know your name? I do not chase evil spirits, but I do have authority over them. The only way evil spirits would know my name is because of the TIME that I spend with JESUS and the unity that I have with HIM.

  11. Two Questions
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Two questions asked by Paul brought the truth of the gospel to these men. They did not belittle the walk of religion they were in but expanded their knowledge of John’s position and truly what they should do. They spoke the word of truth. We too can ask these two simple questions in conversations to be able to lead many into the true Gospel of Jesus. Some people can’t even remember how they were baptized what an opportunity to share our testimony and lead others to Jesus.

25 Whom he called together with the workmen of like occupation, and said, Sirs, ye know that by this craft we have our wealth.

As I read on on the scripture as Paul continues to preach the main concern fir the people was their income would be destroyed by the teaching of leaving false gods. We must encourage those who may derive their income from a sinful nature. Reassurance that God will truly bless them as they make a change in their life . Again testimonies of God’s promises and provisions . There is a work to be saved and we must continue to grow in our faith without fear . (No glory to me but to God ). A simple brown bag of breakfast it may appeared but inside not only a sandwich but something extra a small booklet explaining salvation . Now Lord who does this belong to today ? I thought I had purchased it for a woman who had approached me fir some money . She had asked for a cup of coffee . I searched and searched for her but she was no longer on the street .
I asked several other people had they had breakfast one refused and one had eaten. One more street Lord who are you reaching fir was my question . When a young man approached my vehicle where I had stopped at a stop sign . Awe he asked for money and I knew this was the one . I told him I could give him breakfast ( he looked at me and said I can’t take your breakfast) I knew the money he was seeking was for a different hunger but I insisted. I handed him the hit breakfast and a hot cup of coffee . As he took it I looked him straight in the eye and asked his name he gave it to me . I then told him there was more in that brown bag beside natural food and encouraged him to take a look at it. This young man will have to make a choice a life changing decision. As I listened to the testimony of Nick Mahanney it gave me an increased courage to do more and to reach more . The idols of this world cannot continue to hold to the souls of men and women and we the church must pray reach and teach . Jesus is Hope that everyone can have and we must tell it everywhere we go.

  12. Acts 19 9-10 But when some were hardened, and believed not, but spoke evil of that way before the multitude,he departed from them and separated the disciples, disputing daily in the school of one, Tryannus.
(10 ) And this continued for the space of two years; so that all they who dwell in Asia heard the word of the Lord Jesus, both Jews and Greeks.
Paul’s teaches in Ephesus for nearly three years, Paul was saved in one day.
Let’s not your’s Heart’s Harden repent and be baptized in Jesus name.
Evil spirits will flee in the presence of the Lord.
Repentance and Salvation is for everyone!

  13. 26 more over yes see and hear, that not alone at &Ephesus
But almost through out all Asia, this Paul hath persuade and turn away much people saying saying that they be no gods
    Which are made with hands.
    ——
Wow! I repent right now, ( shame on me…)for my list of whom I have shared the good newsroom is very short, but thanks be to God, for his mercy and forgiveness.
Today is the day of Salvation, today we can speak a persuade someone, so that they may come to the acknowledge of Jesus and repent and be baptized 🙌.
If it’s me, you, then who?

  14. 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

12 So that from his body were brought unto the sick handkerchiefs or aprons, and the diseases departed from them, and the evil spirits went out of them.

Saul’s whose conversion brought such a great transformation in his life, now known as Paul was used by God to bring about many great miracles. People that live heard for the world, when converted will turn that same passion to live hard for Jesus! Every soul is an opportunity for God to move and change. Don’t discount anyone – tell everyone – live and give Jesus to everyone!

  15. LiveJesusGiveJesus2. I love to read Gods word and apply it to daily happenings. God is so good and so in control. I will reach someone today and I will make a difference. I love you Jesus. I love Pofw.

  16. Its amazing how you can read farther and farther and the stories will get better and better each an every day!

  17. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

The most perfect example of outreach it is that simple. One question can mean the full salvation to someone. I remember a while back a Sister came to teach us outreach, we went to Walmart and approached random strangers, at first I founded hard since I am not as an extrovert with strangers; but once I saw the need, the way some of them asked us to pray, I felt the urgency of their soul. Ever since then I decided that when someone ask for prayer let it be at Walmart, in Facebook, etc. I will stop and pray with them right there for we don’t know what tomorrow brings. So be intentional like our God and just that one question “Have you received the Holy Ghost since you believe?” It is that simple Thank You Jesus! For always leaving the simple perfect lesson for us to follow.

  18. 17 And this was known to all the Jews and Greeks also dwelling at Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified.

God’s name is to be glorified. Many people are confused on how to give true worship. Just throwing your hands up and saying thank you Jesus is not considered true worship. True worship is identified when you worship with a purpose, you worship with all of your heart. Knowing that God is the only one who can save you from yourself. When we truly worship it disturbs the enemy, makes him uncomfortable and sends him back from whence he came. Every time we worship, we should do it with all of our heart, mind and soul. God is worthy to be praised.

  19. “He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:2‬ ‭KJV‬‬

All it took was asking. A simple conversation which led to Paul teaching the disciples the truth. As Christians all we have to do is have a simple conversation with those that are unsaved and let fox move through is. We can’t be afraid to speak and talk to them. Sometimes that’s all they are wanting is for someone to talk to them. Let us be like Paul and not be afraid to witness to them and lead them to holiness.

  20. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

With all the false doctrine that is thick in this area, this questions still are relevant, and probably should be asked more than they are. Unfortunately many people think that because they have felt Jesus, that they have the Holy Ghost. They do not read for themselves and see that they speak in other tongues when they get the Holy Ghost. There are also many many people who think that being baptized with titles, as a profession of their faith is enough. It’s not. If it were, these men would not have been rebaptized.. it all matters.

  21. iLove the Kingdom
30 And when Paul would have entered in unto the people, the disciples suffered him not.

This is the thing about it…Paul had a destiny. He knew he would not die here. He knew he would go to Rome, he was ready to face this mob knowing that God would protect him. But the disciples stopped him and suffered him not to go out among the crowd. This is called wisdom. We must live our lives the same way. We must be willing to listen to reason and listen to those who would save us from unnecessary harm.

  22. vss.1-6
Our Lord’s whole purpose in sending His Spirit was to equip us to do His work.
We see the initial evidence of tongues testified again of the infilling they had received.

    Without Him we can do nothing ( John 15 :5 ) !

  23. Acts of the Apostles 19:5-6
[5]As soon as they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
[6]Then when Paul laid his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in other tongues and prophesied.

Thank you Jesus for saving power and forgiveness through baptism and for the Holy Ghost

  24. 11 And God wrought special miracles by the hands of Paul:

All healing or miracles are not the same. Sometimes we have to trust the Lord for healing that takes time, and sometimes there is instant healing.

  25. Acts 19
4 Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.”

5 On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 When Paul placed his hands on them, the Holy Spirit came on them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.

We need to get people into church. As today the two brothers who just started coming to our church, were baptized in Jesus name! People are hungry for the truth, and love of our Savior Jesus Christ.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  26. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

This is a perfect question to start a mini bible study with some that just need to be taught a more perfect way.

  27. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Notice the transition the people believed in John and John prepared them to believe in Jesus. John’s ministry was water baptism and Jesus was Holy Ghost baptism.

We too will come into contact with people that will soon believe in Jesus because we have built relationships with them first. Let us be faithful to loving and building relationships with others.

  28. 4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

  29. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

It is time that us Christians to not be afraid to share the truth with those that are lost and dying in this wicked world, the lord has commissioned us to go out and preach to every creature and now is the time to go out and do that. God wants everyone to not be lost but it is up to us to be willing to be obedient and answer the call.

  30. 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

  31. “God gave Paul the power to perform unusual miracles. When handkerchiefs or aprons that had merely touched his skin were placed on sick people, they were healed of their diseases, and evil spirits were expelled.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God can do all things! There is no disease, battle, or enemy the Lord cannot remove from our lives, God can and will heal you and protect you. As the Lord did with Paul he will use his faithful ones to perform miracles. I pray tonight that we give our all unto the Lord sacrifice whatever unto the Lord. Be willing for the Lord to use you, when he calls you don’t be afraid have faith in him for he knows what you can do and believes in you. Let us grow in the Lord daily, seek him and his word more and more, give your life towards him show him your faithful unto him.

  32. “But one time when they tried it, the evil spirit replied, “I know Jesus, and I know Paul, but who are you?””
Acts of the Apostles 19:15 NLT

Even the enemy knows if we have a good or bad relationship with God. Having a relationship with God shows that we are truly seeking Him. It reveals our trust in Jesus. God gave His life for us so we can have life more abundantly with Him and turn our weariness, sorrow, and shame into joy. God knows His people and they know him because they seek God first.

  33. This message is simple

2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

We try to complicate it too much. Maybe we get nervous not to mess it up or we think it’s too simple that people won’t get it?? The reality is Jesus made this message simple. Have you received the Holy Ghost? If not let’s open up the Bible and find out what it says about the Holy Ghost. After that it will all fall into place. Anyone can do it. We just have to ask the simple question and let God mead is through the rest.

  34. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

They didn’t even know that the HOLY GHOST EXISTED !!! Imagine if we were in a church that didn’t speak or know about the HOLY GHOST….. WE ARE SO BLESSED!!! GOD KNOWS EXACTLY WHAT HE IS DOING!!!

  35. “A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭19:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Such power the name of Jesus has. When using his name properly you can do anything! Jesus can do anything for anyone, because of his love and grace. Let use The name of Jesus properly so we may have unbelievable powers

  36. 16 And the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, and overcame them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.

Many different spirits may try to grab ahold of us but we need to know our right from wrong. We can not let the enemy catch ahold of us. We have to be strong in our path with God, as we leads us the right way. A good heart with God can overcome any kind of evil spirits. We must rebuke these spirits, and cast them down so they don’t have a hold on us! I pray tonight that we all keep a good and strong relationship with God!!!

  37. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.

4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

  38. “And the whole city was filled with confusion: and having caught Gaius and Aristarchus, men of Macedonia, Paul’s companions in travel, they rushed with one accord into the theatre.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’m so thankful we serve a God who is not the author of confusion! There is a lot of confusion in our world today, even in our city. It is our job as the Body of Christ to show the world that we stand strong on the Word of God and follow what He says. No confusion, no doubt – We serve the one true living God and His name is JESUS!!

  39. “he said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost. And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism. Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus. And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:2-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Lord, I pray that you would lead us to the people that need to hear the full gospel. That we would have divine appointments to speak your gospel with boldness.

  40. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.

This is it!! *slow clap* 👏🏼 👏🏼👏🏼. Some of us do this already, but as a church whole, we all need to learn this!! Lord, I pray that as a church unit we all to have the boldness to confront friends, family, and coworkers as Paul did. Give us all the wisdom and the proper words to say to make a difference and add souls to the Kingdom of God!

  41. Acts 19:2-5

So many people out there have no idea about the Holy Ghost. All it takes is a testimony and compassion for that persons soul. You gotta tell them about this Gospel, not just you can get a another star for your crown in heaven but so God can keep filling people with the Holy Ghost. The main purpose is to expand the Kingdom of Jesus.

  42. Something that stood out to me with these 7 sons of sceva is that Sceva was a jewish priest. So these sons knew of a godliness yet did not have authority through Jesus name. They were welding a weapon they had no place using.
We can raise up our children in Church, but if we don’t instruct them on how to pray, war and fight then they have nothing, and could even be hurt when trying to engage with the enemy.

  43. 2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John’s baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.

Most of the world is described right here: they’ve never heard of the receiving the Holy Ghost as we know it and have not heard of baptism in Jesus name. This is where we come in. Paul 1st asks them about their beliefs or customs and then expounds the word of God to them, teaching them the new birth. This is where we all should begin in teaching-find out where they are and start there with scriptures, showing them in the word what we have learned ourselves and now believe. Our testimony here goes a long way.

  44. Acts 19:2 He said into them, have you received the Holy Ghost and she believed? And he said to him we have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.

This is the question that we must ask because many have been baptized but are not sure of what the Holy Ghost is. We must teach what the Holy Ghost is. I pray God gives revelation to family that does not believe the Holy Ghost.

Romans 8:9 But you are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

  45. 18Many who became believers confessed their sinful practices. 19A number of them who had been practicing sorcery brought their incantation books and burned them at a public bonfire. The value of the books was several million dollars. 20So the message about the Lord spread widely and had a powerful effect.

We all have items we should burn/throw away. Once we do, its a lot easier to talk about the Word, easier to spread his Word, easier to testify about his Word. Even its these items were expensive its all worth to throw away. The only book worth saving is the Word of God/Bible.

  46. When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭19:2-5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is what it is going to be like with churches from other denominations. They are not going to know about being baptized and filled with the Holy Ghost, but that is what God’s going to do for them.
