Acts Chapter 21 – FIRE2 – 21/40

Day 21: Ch.21. Paul returns to Jerusalem despite the hardships he knows he will face. Paul had an amazing resolve to seek God’s honor, even in difficult circumstances. Pray that you reflect Christ in every situation and learn to daily seek God for direction.

Acts 21

And it came to pass, that after we were gotten from them, and had launched, we came with a straight course unto Coos, and the day following unto Rhodes, and from thence unto Patara:

And finding a ship sailing over unto Phenicia, we went aboard, and set forth.

Now when we had discovered Cyprus, we left it on the left hand, and sailed into Syria, and landed at Tyre: for there the ship was to unlade her burden.

And finding disciples, we tarried there seven days: who said to Paul through the Spirit, that he should not go up to Jerusalem.

And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.

And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.

And when we had finished our course from Tyre, we came to Ptolemais, and saluted the brethren, and abode with them one day.

And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.

And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.

10 And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.

11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

12 And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.

13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

15 And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.

16 There went with us also certain of the disciples of Caesarea, and brought with them one Mnason of Cyprus, an old disciple, with whom we should lodge.

17 And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.

18 And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.

19 And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.

20 And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:

21 And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest all the Jews which are among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, saying that they ought not to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs.

22 What is it therefore? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come.

23 Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them;

24 Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and all may know that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, are nothing; but that thou thyself also walkest orderly, and keepest the law.

25 As touching the Gentiles which believe, we have written and concluded that they observe no such thing, save only that they keep themselves from things offered to idols, and from blood, and from strangled, and from fornication.

26 Then Paul took the men, and the next day purifying himself with them entered into the temple, to signify the accomplishment of the days of purification, until that an offering should be offered for every one of them.

27 And when the seven days were almost ended, the Jews which were of Asia, when they saw him in the temple, stirred up all the people, and laid hands on him,

28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

30 And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.

31 And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

32 Who immediately took soldiers and centurions, and ran down unto them: and when they saw the chief captain and the soldiers, they left beating of Paul.

33 Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.

34 And some cried one thing, some another, among the multitude: and when he could not know the certainty for the tumult, he commanded him to be carried into the castle.

35 And when he came upon the stairs, so it was, that he was borne of the soldiers for the violence of the people.

36 For the multitude of the people followed after, crying, Away with him.

37 And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?

38 Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?

39 But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.

40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

  1. 13. Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

    JESUS –
He died for us, and many have died for His Name…the least we could do is LIVE Him and GIVE Him.

  2. Acts 21:39

But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.

    Bet y’all didn’t know that
Paul was actually a Jew but raised being obedient to the Roman law. This situation happens often these days. People will be raised in church brought up in this truth this Gospel and stray away and reject it most of their childhood. By the time they come to the Lord it’s like they never even heard anything at all about the word of God. It don’t matter where your from or where you’ve been we gotta let everyone see it don’t matter that the biggest thing that matters is us coming to the Lord

  3. Acts 21: 17- 18-19-20 ) Paul journey at Jerusalem
And when we were come to Jerusalem, the brethren received us gladly.
    (18) And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present.
    (19) And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry.
I love to hear other ministers when they come to our church and tell us about there Ministry and there Testimony.
We sure share our Testimony and be encouraging to others.
    To glorified the Lord.

  4. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

15 And after those days we took up our carriages, and went up to Jerusalem.

Just like Paul, we have to have the mindset that no matter what happens, we will be ready to continue preaching the word unto death. We can not be afraid of this world, no matter how bad they want to persecute us for the name of Jesus. We can bow or bend at their so called agendas and allow the world to dictate who, what, and where we preach this truth. No matter what comes our way we can have the protection and the reward of God.

We have to remember that this world is not our home, we are just simply passing through. Our home and treasures are set up somewhere beyond the blue. That is what I am looking for. So don’t get weary and it’s not time to faint, we have to keep pushing like Paul did and what ever comes our way we will meet it head on.

    Live Give Jesus2!

  5. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

You cannot persuade someone who is determined. You can try but when their mind is made up they won’t budge. When people understand and see that they cannot convince someone they will either leave them alone or they will be persuaded to their side. We need to have that made up mind that Paul had. Maybe not even to die for the gospel but to give your life for it. There is no greater cause or calling then to surrender all that you have for the gospel

  6. Paul asked the commander if he can speak to the crowd, he agreed. Then paul used motions to calm the crowd. Then he started to speak to them in there langue

  7. Acts 21
Their message to Paul, from insight given by the Spirit, was “Don’t go to Jerusalem

Paul had to go where God was leading him. He already knew and was ready to give his life for the Kingdom of God.
He knew the message of God’s saving Grace had to be proclaimed no matter the consequences.
Opposition is already here . My prayer is God strengthen me daily and give me courage to stand firm and continue reaching the lost . In Jesus Name.

  8. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

Even though Paul had been warned about what would happen to him if he went to Jerusalem, he went anyway. So that the Lord’s will be done. We must be willing to give our all to Christ even if it means our life.

Matthew 6:10 “Your kingdom come. Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.
Acts 20:24 “But none of these things move me; nor do I count my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my race with joy, and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.”
    ‭‭

  9. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Paul refused to take the easy way out. He had several opportunities to have left and to have escaped. Many men and women of God had given him warning to not go to Jerusalem. Paul willingly laid down his life for the name of Jesus. Paul is a great example of being sold out to Jesus.

  10. Why we do what we do.

Picking up the cross we have to make a decision. To abandon one self desires and personal dreams to pursue a truth that has a bigger reward then the life.
We have to understand that once we take on the name Jesus Christ we have a bounty on our head. The enemy will come after you and seek your life.

“When we heard this, we and the local believers all begged Paul not to go on to Jerusalem. But he said, “Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭21:12-13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

But your reward is beyond this earth. Just live the life of Jesus and FULL SEND IT.

  11. I love Pofw. LiveJesusGiveJesus2. Paul was a good solid man ready to die or get persecuted for his God. Are you ready? In this day and time we have to be ready in season and out of season. God never slumbers so he is there for us 24/7. We must bring people to him to save them!!

  12. Acts 21:13,14 Then Paul answered, what mean ye to weep and to break my heart? I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

He was souled out to God! His mind was made up and prepared what was awaiting him.

But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God. Acts 20:24

Luke 11:2 And he said unto them, when ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

The will of the Lord will be done when we live and give Jesus.

  13. Podemos encontra situaciones dificiles cuando hablamos la palabra de DIOS y sabemos que no nos rechazan a nosotros Sino a Cristo no cedamos y continuemos adelante que nuestra paga la tendremos de el , gracias senor JESUS.

  14. Acts 21:12-14
    12) And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
    13) Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
    14) And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

    “I Am Ready”
You see Paul was not afraid. He had already determined (had his heart and mind set and fixed on going) to go to Jerusalem, and he was not going to be persuaded (convinced by anyone or anything) to do any differently.
    WHY?? Because He Was Ready!!
Ready for what?? Ready to be bound and die for the name of the Lord JESUS.

So the real question is… “Am I, Are You Ready to be bound and/or to die for the name of the Lord JESUS?? Many times we say We Are, BUT Are We Really??

NOW is the Time to Get and Be Ready!

  15. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
LIVE JESUS = WILL OF GOD

13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

Similar to the appeal to save JESUS by the apostle Peter when JESUS called him a devil. We witness the apostle Paul initiate the commitment of his own life to fulfill the will of GOD.

A commitment to LIVE JESUS will bring us to crossroads of death. Not always physical death as with JESUS and Paul, but a death to our will and desire to moves to appease or please our flesh.

Whatever challenge we are presented with to fulfill the will of GOD in our lives will no doubt require us to LIVE JESUS in such a commitment that we are willing to die for JESUS. I pray JESUS deliver us from selfishness, pride and arrogance to “do it” our way and not HIS (JESUS) way.

If we are accountable to JESUS, ourself and one another we will remain position to LIVE JESUS and therefore LIVE out The WILL OF GOD in our lives.

  16. Acts of the Apostles 21:13-14,36
[13]But he said, “Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.”
[14]When it was clear that we couldn’t persuade him, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done.”

We should be ready and willing to do the Lord’s will. Submission to God.

  17. 30 And all the city was moved, and the people ran together: and they took Paul, and drew him out of the temple: and forthwith the doors were shut.

31 And as they went about to kill him, tidings came unto the chief captain of the band, that all Jerusalem was in an uproar.

There’s an old saying “You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make him drink.” There are some people that we will share the Gospel with, and they are not going to receptive. They might even be enraged and enrage others around them against us, but if we have the same attitude as Paul, we will find people that willingly will be converted and follow the Gospel, sharing with others the experience.

Living and Giving Jesus may not always be easy, but if we will be obedient and do our part, it may not be the person we thought was going to come, but God will give an increase.

  18. “And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭21:14‬ ‭KJV

Paul had a mindset of ‘going into all the nations!’ Again an apostle on a mission. He was not concerned about being beat down or even killed by what Je knew to be true.
Accepting the will of the LORD JESUS CHrist isn’t always easy. Yes it will challenge your faith. But it is rewarding when you see the hand of the LORD JESUS working on your behalf at all times.
Life is full of decisions… make sure you have the right direction needed for your destination.

“For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.”
    ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭1:21‬ ‭KJV

  19. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done

Paul had to be steadfast in his decision to return to Jerusalem because of ao many warning to not go. Many would have turned aside but Paul went so he could continue to be a light to the Gentiles. He truly was able to declare he had run this race and finished his course. He opened the door of salvation to many nations and peoples and we are indebted to him today.

  20. 39 But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.

40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

From being a prisoner and outcast, Paul stood before the chief captain giving his life testimony! How many times are we giving the opportunity to be a witness and we let it slip by?

  21. “And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Cæsarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him. And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy. And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judæa a certain prophet, named Agabus. And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles. And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem. Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭21:8-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

When a trouble is come, this must allay our griefs, that the will of the Lord is done; when we see it coming, this must silence our fears, that the will of the Lord shall be done; and we ought to say, Amen, let it be done.

  22. And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.

13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

Sometimes christians are called to go into dangerous situations. People may not understand why we would go, but, if the call of God is on our lives. we will go. Sometimes well meaning people will say, “that’s a bad neighborhood, you shouldn’t go there, or, that country is dangerous, pleaase don’t go there!”
In the past I have gone on outreach and some of our group were physically attecked. We should use wisdom, but we cannot always avoid all danger. God blesses our efforts and our reward will be great.

  23. 12 And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.
13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.
14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

This makes 2 separate occasions where Paul was warned about going to Jerusalem.

When we are fully persuaded by Jesus about our commitments, nothing and no one will be able to change our minds. We must always remember that there are men of God in our lives, but our Pastor is who we should listen to above anyone else. The other people don’t war for us like our Pastor. He was placed over us by God for a reason.

  24. 12 And when we heard these things, both we, and they of that place, besought him not to go up to Jerusalem.

13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

14 And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.

Being persecuted for the name of Jesus is nothing new and it will not stop any time soon.

We have to make up in our minds, that no matter what happens we are still going to serve the Lord.

Do not be so easily persuaded by the voices of this world, the Lords Will will be done.

  25. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

Currently in this country we do not face religious persecution, unto death. However we still have ways which could be concidered being willing to die for Chirst. We need to be will to sacrifice our will for the cause of Christ.

  26. “And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry. And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law:”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭21:19-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Many people were saved because of the things done with the Gentiles. When people realize what Jesus did for them and how much he loves them, they believed and loved the word. The same can be said for people today. When people realize what Jesus has done for them and how much he loves them, they will seek Jesus and the word today too. There is nothing new under the sun. People love Jesus and the law. They just need to now how much Jesus loves them.

  27. 11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

  28. 11 And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.

  29. “After greeting them, Paul gave a detailed account of the things God had accomplished among the Gentiles through his ministry.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭21:19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

As Paul, we should be going out telling the good works of the Lord, showing them that God can do all things at all times. I know we all have some kind of story/testimony, let us tell our stories how God saved you or how he healed or delivered you. I pray tonight that we spread the word of the Lord, everyday cause sometimes you could be a witness to someone turning their lives to the Lord. God is good all the time!

  30. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

  31. 33 Then the chief captain came near, and took him, and commanded him to be bound with two chains; and demanded who he was, and what he had done.

Sometimes we have to declare for things to be done in His name. We must rebuke the evil spirits and cast in the good ones! I pray tonight that we all believe we have the power to help and pray for others!!!

  32. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

Not many are willing to die in the name of Jesus. For those who are truly dedicated to the work of the ministry, they will be willing to do die for Jesus. You must be willing to believe that our God can do all things. He will give us strength in our time of weakness.

  33. 28 Crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man, that teacheth all men every where against the people, and the law, and this place: and further brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath polluted this holy place.

29 (For they had seen before with him in the city Trophimus an Ephesian, whom they supposed that Paul had brought into the temple.)

We see and understand here that these people only saw pauls past and who he was as a persecutor of Christians, which is very unfortunate. I Thank God that he doesn’t determine what he gonna do with me based off my mistakes he wants to use me more if I have made a mistake. Thank You Jesus for using my mistakes to build me into a better Christian.

  34. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

  35. “But he said, “Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.””
Acts of the Apostles 21:13 NLT

Paul knew that many things can happen either good or bad, when he was called to go Jerusalem to preach the gospel. Paul was a man full of faith and nothing would separate him from the love of God. What Paul reveals to us is: not my will but yours be done God! God honors that and see that we are truly His disciples when we seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness.

  36. v14 “The will of the Lord be done ”
The Church has stood the test of persecution and assault because nothing has ever shaken His people from the foundation of who He is!

  37. “But he said, “Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.” When it was clear that we couldn’t persuade him, we gave up and said, “The Lord’s will be done.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭21:13-14‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Like Paul we must never back down or be persuaded to do anything other than the will of god. No matter what may be thrown our way we must always stand strong and hold onto the name of Jesus. It doesn’t matter what the world says we must follow what Jesus wants us to do. Not our will be down but his will be down. It doesn’t matter what the bay sayers have to say… but what is god saying?

  38. 13 Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.

Paul a man that had been put in prison for the name of Jesus was so persuaded that he was committed to die for Jesus. It’s so easy to say what we would do with our mouth yet our actions sometimes do not align with it.

We are bound to the word of God and some often lack the self control to obey it what makes us think we would have enough to die for Him? I often ask myself if I was out in the shoes of those in the Bible could I live up to it.

I’m so humbled by the many great men and women that have gone before us and I strive to be like Jesus just as they were.

  39. 40The commander agreed, so Paul stood on the stairs and motioned to the people to be quiet. Soon a deep silence enveloped the crowd, and he addressed them in their own language, Aramaic.

Even after being beaten, Paul still wanted to address the people. He could have easily said “I’m done evangelizing.” But he was strong spiritually and was not broken by the enemy. We to must be strong, and spread his Word.

  40. Verses 12-13 MSG “When we heard that, we and everyone there that day begged Paul not to be stubborn and persist in going to Jerusalem. But Paul wouldn’t budge: “Why all this hysteria? Why do you insist on making a scene and making it even harder for me? You’re looking at this backward. The issue in Jerusalem is not what they do to me, whether arrest or murder, but what the Master Jesus does through my obedience. Can’t you see that?” What can Jesus do through our obedience? We may not always understand, see or even agree with how some situations occur; but, we have to remember to always seek His will and not our own. God can do ANYTHING……blow my mind God!

  41. Acts Chapter 21

Here he was beaten and had to be carried to the castle yet he persuaded The Romans to allow Paul to speak to the people. This is a sign of Love that caused Paul to speak. Yet he knew that he had to go to Rome and was ready to die for the gospel.

John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.
John 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.
This he truly did and he wrote his letters to the churches also in prison.

  42. 39 But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.

40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

The mission, the message, must go on. We see in this chapter how despite the prophetic warnings Paul is determined to spread this message. This calling on his life from Jesus. The prophecies were true . I don’t believe it was a warning to not go, but rather to be prepared. They never said that he would loose his life. Yet Paul had to muster up enough courage to still go and fulfill the calling and deliver the message. Even after being beat and almost getting killed. He still takes a moment to push through and speak what God gave him to that generation. A message that will weigh upon their lives forever. For they have heard and are now accepting accountable for it. At any cost. His example for us. The message most be delivered.

  43. “But he said, “Why all this weeping? You are breaking my heart! I am ready not only to be jailed at Jerusalem but even to die for the sake of the Lord Jesus.””
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭21:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

True meaning of living for Jesus. As the time approaches in our current time, Are we ready to give our live for the sake of Jesus? I pray that we prepare ourselves and know that reward is when we lay our all for Jesus! Weeping and fear will no longer be felt on us. It will be replaced with joy, peace and everlasting life with Christ our Lord.

  44. 37 And as Paul was to be led into the castle, he said unto the chief captain, May I speak unto thee? Who said, Canst thou speak Greek?
38 Art not thou that Egyptian, which before these days madest an uproar, and leddest out into the wilderness four thousand men that were murderers?
39 But Paul said, I am a man which am a Jew of Tarsus, a city in Cilicia, a citizen of no mean city: and, I beseech thee, suffer me to speak unto the people.
40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

Paul didn’t give in the certain outcome. Paul didn’t give in to the most relatable event unfolding, instead he decided to not give up, but fight and stand up for God and himself. Learn to stay up and ready to defend and take care of yourself and our God!

  45. What if Paul had listened to his friends and fellow believers just because they were scared of him going to Jerusalem? So much would not be fulfilled. Let’s stay focused in these last days for God’s desire and not the voices around us

  46. “But the Lord said to me, ‘Go, for I will send you far away to the Gentiles!’ ”
Acts of the Apostles 22:21 NLT

God will call is to do things we don’t understand or will be out of our comfort zone.
Jesus told peter to cast his net on the other side of the boat. Very simple yet unconventional.

  47. 40 And when he had given him licence, Paul stood on the stairs, and beckoned with the hand unto the people. And when there was made a great silence, he spake unto them in the Hebrew tongue, saying,

Even bound, Paul was determined to share the gospel. What extreme lengths will we go to for Jesus today?

  48. “Then Paul answered, What mean ye to weep and to break mine heart? for I am ready not to be bound only, but also to die at Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus. And when he would not be persuaded, we ceased, saying, The will of the Lord be done.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭21:13-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Paul was fully persuaded and fully given to Christ. He was no longer living for himself but for Christ. It was as if his motto was that “Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven (Matt 6:10).”

“Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.”
    ‭‭Luke‬ ‭22:42‬ ‭KJV‬‬
