Acts 25

Now when Festus was come into the province, after three days he ascended from Caesarea to Jerusalem.

Then the high priest and the chief of the Jews informed him against Paul, and besought him,

And desired favour against him, that he would send for him to Jerusalem, laying wait in the way to kill him.

But Festus answered, that Paul should be kept at Caesarea, and that he himself would depart shortly thither.

Let them therefore, said he, which among you are able, go down with me, and accuse this man, if there be any wickedness in him.

And when he had tarried among them more than ten days, he went down unto Caesarea; and the next day sitting on the judgment seat commanded Paul to be brought.

And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.

While he answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.

But Festus, willing to do the Jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?

10 Then said Paul, I stand at Caesar’s judgment seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou very well knowest.

11 For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.

12 Then Festus, when he had conferred with the council, answered, Hast thou appealed unto Caesar? unto Caesar shalt thou go.

13 And after certain days king Agrippa and Bernice came unto Caesarea to salute Festus.

14 And when they had been there many days, Festus declared Paul’s cause unto the king, saying, There is a certain man left in bonds by Felix:

15 About whom, when I was at Jerusalem, the chief priests and the elders of the Jews informed me, desiring to have judgment against him.

16 To whom I answered, It is not the manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is accused have the accusers face to face, and have licence to answer for himself concerning the crime laid against him.

17 Therefore, when they were come hither, without any delay on the morrow I sat on the judgment seat, and commanded the man to be brought forth.

18 Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as I supposed:

19 But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

20 And because I doubted of such manner of questions, I asked him whether he would go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these matters.

21 But when Paul had appealed to be reserved unto the hearing of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I might send him to Caesar.

22 Then Agrippa said unto Festus, I would also hear the man myself. To morrow, said he, thou shalt hear him.

23 And on the morrow, when Agrippa was come, and Bernice, with great pomp, and was entered into the place of hearing, with the chief captains, and principal men of the city, at Festus’ commandment Paul was brought forth.

24 And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all men which are here present with us, ye see this man, about whom all the multitude of the Jews have dealt with me, both at Jerusalem, and also here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.

25 But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself hath appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him.

26 Of whom I have no certain thing to write unto my lord. Wherefore I have brought him forth before you, and specially before thee, O king Agrippa, that, after examination had, I might have somewhat to write.

27 For it seemeth to me unreasonable to send a prisoner, and not withal to signify the crimes laid against him.

  1. “Of whom I have no certain thing to write unto my lord. Wherefore I have brought him forth before you, and specially before thee, O king Agrippa, that, after examination had, I might have somewhat to write.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭25:26‬ ‭KJV

‘ That I may have something to write.’

No matter who you are, your title, or even the position you hold, there will ALWAYS be someone accusing you of doing wrong. Pointing a finger at you and unaware that there’s three fingers pointing back at you.
Here you see Paul unmoved and fearless about his accusers. Paul stands bold, at peace, and confident knowing that ‘if GOD be for him, who can stand against him?’ Don’t worry about what people are saying against you, just KEEP TRUSTING GOD in all things.
This reminds me of what Jesus told the woman who was caught in the act. As He said unto her,
    ‘Woman, where are thine accusers?’
Two different scenarios…yet JESUS shows himself faithful and true.

  2. 24 And Festus said, King Agrippa, and all men which are here present with us, ye see this man, about whom all the multitude of the Jews have dealt with me, both at Jerusalem, and also here, crying that he ought not to live any longer.

There is coming a day where every Christian will stand before the world to be judged because of false accusations. We will then have to make up in our minds will we continue to stand fast for the kingdom of God or will we simply fold up because of the peer pressure to try to save ourselves. There were trials that Paul stepped into to be judged but there were no proofs for the accusers that came against him.

We will have to put on the whole armpit of God and stand against the wiles of the enemy to defend Jesus and let Jesus save us whether in life or death. We have to be bold enough to stand before men whom will accuse us of breaking the law of man. But if we keep the laws and commandments of God then what ever the outcome will be, God will be lifted up. We have to make up our minds to sell out to God and not man. We will have to give everything for the kingdom of God. Remember the way is straight and the gate is narrow for the kingdom of God. It’s time to stand like Paul stood before the council and declare the truth.

  3. 21 But when Paul had appealed to be reserved unto the hearing of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I might send him to Caesar.

Paul was the perfect person for this situation, Timothy might not have known who to ask for or what to do along with most of the other apostles but Paul knew how things worked. He knew what to do and who to talk to, how to work his way through the Roman empire. God knows the ability that we have and what we can and cannot handle. As we work thru our issues and how we deal with them. If we are faced with a seemingly impossible situation, rest assured God allowed it bc there is something inside of us that can bring out the best of it, if we have faith in him that he trust us to do it.

  4. In reading this chapter, it reminded me of song I heard recently that says:

“There’s a name that can silence every fear
    There’s a love that embraces
The heartache, the pain, and the tears

Through my faith and my doubting
I know one thing for sure
    His word is unfailing
    His promise secure

    Todo va a estar bien
    Everything will be all right
The whole world’s in His hands
Your whole world’s in His hands

In the darkness and the trials
He’s faithful and He is true
The whole world’s in His hands

In the VOICE version it says that Paul understood that ultimately his justice was in the hands of God. When we are firm, transparent and true; our defender is there and we just need to praise him for bringing us through. Psalm 18:48-49 AMP says “He rescues me from my enemies; Yes, You lift me up above those who rise up against me; You deliver me from the man of violence. Therefore will I give thanks and praise You, O Lord, among the nations, And sing praises to Your name.”

  5. 7When Paul arrived, the Jews who had come from Jerusalem stood around him and started making many serious charges against him, which they were not able to prove.

Many will make accusations against another but no proof. It’s all gossip, rumors and want to discredit their reputation. If there is no wrong doing, you have nothing to worry about. Stay humble, encourage and firm with God.

  6. Acts 25
18-21 “The accusers came at him from all sides, but their accusations turned out to be nothing more than arguments about their religion and a dead man named Jesus, who the prisoner claimed was alive.

    On Trial For Jesus

Acts 1: 8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

When the enemy comes against you on every side we must remind him of his end . Paul stood firm and boldly and shows no fear as he is on trial . He was ready and clothed with the power of the Holy Ghost
We must combat the enemy with boldness and have an assurance that the power of the Holy Ghost will clothe us and fully equip us . We can’t stop now there are still hungry souls all around us . Opposition is here in many forms but our opposer will be defeated by Jesus Christ .

  7. 18 Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as I supposed:
19 But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

Many men of God have asked us-could we be accused of being a disciple of Jesus? Does our walk with God show to neighbors and friends? If it doesn’t, we have work to do on living for the King of kings!

  8. Acts 25:18-19 NLT “But the accusations made against him weren’t any of the crimes I expected. Instead, it was something about their religion and a dead man named Jesus, who Paul insists is alive.”
    ‭‭
Acts 25:25 MSG But what am I going to write to my master, Caesar? All the charges made by the Jews were fabrications,
    ‭‭
Just as Paul was accused of false accusations believers today will go through the same. Stand firm on the Word of God. The battle belongs to the Lord

  9. Acts 25:25

But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself hath appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him.

People will talk and people will think you need to die. But when the accuser come face to face the judge will judge righteously and the truth will set you free. Jesus will set you free folks

  10. “For it seemeth to me unreasonable to send a prisoner, and not withal to signify the crimes laid against him.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭25:27‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There is purpose in the plan. It may not seem like it but don’t be discouraged and don’t doubt God. At this point Paul has sat in jail for 2 years because of accusations and greed but I believe in those two years Jesus still used Paul as His vessel. Sometimes we will be in circumstances in which we can’t figure out why we’re there. But as Sis Smith said last night – stop trying to figure it out and be willing to carry the promise.

Thank you Jesus for never failing nor forsaking us!

  11. If Guility
    25-11
Pauls stance is consistent with his teaching in Rom.13. The believer is to be subject to secular goverment. If a believer breaks the law he can still affirm the rule of law by attempting to avoid just punishment

  12. 18 Against whom when the accusers stood up, they brought none accusation of such things as I supposed:
19 But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

There will always be a debate about the truth of His Word. We must be girded up and ready; know the truth within our hearts. One day eyes will be open and hearts will be hungry and we will need to show them the way.

  13. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    ACCUSATION

16 To whom I answered, It is not the manner of the Romans to deliver any man to die, before that he which is accused have the accusers face to face, and have licence to answer for himself concerning the crime laid against him.

The WORD of GOD teaches us that satan is the accuser of the brethren. We witness this scenario and the response of the world or Roman nation is to give the accused an opportunity to respond.

Over my 32.5 years in church I have witnessed this painful calamity too often. When the accused is judged, condemned and sentenced for a matter based on another persons accusation.

The scriptural resolution to such an accusation is to bring all involved parties together to disern the truth. Not take the word of an accusation as fact, with no evidence or response from the accused.

CAUTION, be very slow to choose sides in a matter. Know the TRUTH (JESUS) and stick with HIM. TRUTH always wins.

  14. But where are my accusers? God sees and knows all. We will be accused of all types of things til Jesus returns. But for now he is on the throne and will take care of his own.l love POFW. LIVE JESUS GIVE JESUS2

  15. 9 But Festus, willing to do the Jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?

There are people who for whatever reason, have it in for true Christians and do everything they can to come against them. Just like Festus, he wanted to please the people.

If someone comes against us with such opposition, we must take a step back and recognize the spirit behind it . It may not be us persay, but the God we are serving. We must not take everything personally. We must recognize the Spirit of God in us is what they are attacking.

We are more than conquerors and if we keep the right attitude as example by Paul, we will be tge winners in the sight of the Lord

  16. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus
For it seemeth to me unreasonable to send a prisoner, and not withal to signify the crimes laid against him.

The Jews didn’t care if Paul was falsely accused, in fact they had even sent lewd fellers to lie on him. Paul seemed to had gained favor with the Romans and this would in fact allow him to write the gospels while being incarcerated with few distractions

  17. 9 but gratis willing to do the Jews a pleasure
Answered Paul and said: will thou go up to Jerusalem And there be judge of these things before the?
Really? So you think Paul doesn’t know the law or what?
When people is against you, they will join forces and twist things , to God is to make you fall…..
It’s because of the name Jesus that all of this is happening.
It’s because of the truth being preached.
Paul never gave up. He faced every situation with faith and boldness.
    Keep on keeping….
    🙏🙏🙏.
    He finished the race.

  18. 7 And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.

These people didn’t like Paul preaching the true word of God so they lied about him because it went against their religion we need to be like Paul and preach the word no matter what anyone says

  19. 7 And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.

The proof is in the pudding!

The pudding Paul had was full of truth!

These men came to lie and Paul and they had no fever within this case.I gave favor to Paul when it came to the Romans at this point the Romans not believe the lies they said these are not truthful do you don’t hold up.The Jewish people were bringing complaints and not facts!

If Paul was a man in today’s time how many complaints with people have against him now.I could build a case on complaints how many cases what I have on others.Thank God that he doesn’t judge me on complaints but he judges me on facts!

  20. Acts 25:23-25 (NLT)
    23) So the next day Agrippa and Bernice arrived at the auditorium with great pomp, accompanied by military officers and prominent men of the city. Festus ordered that Paul be brought in.
    24) Then Festus said, King Agrippa and all who are here, this is the man whose death is demanded by all the Jews, both here and in Jerusalem.
    25) But in my opinion he has done nothing deserving death. However, since he appealed his case to the emperor, I have decided to send him to Rome.

Since Paul has appealed his case to the emperor, Festus has decided to “Send Him To Rome.”
When God speaks, He will always fulfill His Word. He told Paul in Acts 23:11, “… for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.”
These above verses are the beginning of God fulfilling His Word to Paul that he would “bear witness also in Rome.”

  21. Acts 18-19 Against whom, when the accusers stood up, they brought no accusations of such things as I supposed as I supposed.
( 19) But had certain question against him of their own religion, and of one Jesus, who was dead, whom Paul aflirmed to be alive.
Even being accuse Paul still preach the word of Lord.
Knowing the truth ( Jesus) we are overcommers.

  22. 5 Let them therefore, said he, which among you are able, go down with me, and accuse this man, if there be any wickedness in him.

People will try to falsely accuse you, but God will bring the truth to the light. Others may not know, but God does. Don’t feel defeated because God is on your side. He will lift you up when you feel down. God has all power and whatever comes your way, he will help you to overcome.

  23. Acts Chapter 25

19 But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.
21 But when Paul had appealed to be reserved unto the hearing of Augustus, I commanded him to be kept till I might send him to Caesar.

What was the question ? Is Jesus Dead or is He alive. I speak to you this day and say that is the question of our day or has He risen? You tell me. I say in todays baptisms of a family was made whole in Jesus by both who was baptized in Jesus name. This alone was affirmed when a 25 yo sister and a 23yo brother on his birthday took Jesus name on them selves as well had their sins being washed away and both talked in tongues. Does Jesus live I testify? The answer is yes. To His Glory amen.

  24. “And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood round about, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.”
    ‭‭Acts‬ ‭25:7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Man will always judge but god always has the final say. So thankful that god does not judge us but he cares for us and loves us. They were against Paul because he was doing the will of god. People will try and throw lies about you but always remember what god say. Don’t worry about the nay sayers only worry about what god says.

  25. 7When Paul arrived, the Jews who had come from Jerusalem stood around him and started making many serious charges against him, which they were not able to prove.

People are going to accuse you and me with lies on whatever they can think up. How are we gonna handle it or we going to let God handle it or are we going to try and fix it ourselves? The truth will come out . We gotta make sure we are walking right and doing what we know to do is right.

  26. 25 But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself hath appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him.

A sacrifice can be many different things, and not just death lol. A sacrifice is surrendering something to God, so is fasting kinda. We have to surrender things to God so we can put aside the distractions and give him our full attention! I pray tonight that are fasting right over these 40 days and having a closer relationship with Him!!!

  27. 27 For it seemeth to me unreasonable to send a prisoner, and not withal to signify the crimes laid against him.

Paul stands being accused of something that is a mystery. They cannot identify the charge because there is no charge. It’s unreasonable to accuse someone of something when you can’t identify what they’ve done.

It baffles me how many people allow the enemy to imprison them based on false charges. If the charge is false fight

  28. ““When his accusers came here for the trial, I didn’t delay. I called the case the very next day and ordered Paul brought in. But the accusations made against him weren’t any of the crimes I expected.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭25:17-18‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There will come a time as we’re preaching the word of God to others and in the crowd many will start asking questions, trying to see if we second guess ourselves or really know and believe. But see that is where we need to stand up for the Lord and his word show them that he is real. I pray that we seek the Lord daily, that we study his word and read it daily. I hope that we’re praying to the Lord asking for his knowledge and wisdom, so as you go out preaching his word you know how to tell people. Seek the Lord daily, stand up for the Lord and remain faithful.

  29. Acts 25:7 And when he was come, the Jews which came down from Jerusalem stood roundabout, and laid many and grievous complaints against Paul, which they could not prove.

The only thing matters is you keep living for Jesus no matter what is said by anyone.

  30. 19 But had certain questions against him of their own superstition, and of one Jesus, which was dead, whom Paul affirmed to be alive.

20 And because I doubted of such manner of questions, I asked him whether he would go to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these matters.

  31. Chosen

Paul was hand selected by God to do great things in the Kingdom. He lived up to the call doing many wonderful things to set the Church in motion. For a reward Paul was wrongly accused, inprisioned, beaten and eventually hung upside down on a cross till he died. We have to always understand that being chosen of God does not bring its reward in the earth but in heaven. Our true reward will be waiting in us. The hope of glory.

  32. Hacer mi trabajo y recivire mi recompensa por que habra gente que aunque tu hagas el trabajo del senor te van a criticar

  33. Christian first citizenship second.

Was Paul justified in appealing to Cesar? Should he not have committed his cause entirely to God, and refused to stoop to depending on his earthly citizenship? Was this one of the mistakes of Paul? We cannot say with finality. All we know is that he appealed to Cesar hinder his being set free at this time and that even if he hadn’t appeal, he would have reached Rome some other way.

    Acts‬ ‭23:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.”

  34. But Festus, willing to do the Jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?

And after certain days king Agrippa and Bernice came unto Cæsarea to salute Festus.
    Acts 25:9‭, ‬13 KJV
    https://bible.com/bible/1/act.25.9-13.KJV

To the right audience. It may have been that Festus was a man pleaser. However God still in control and it may have been that He wanted Paul to share his testimony/witness to this king that later was gonna visit Festus. Let us remember that it was God that hardened the heart of pharaoh that hi may show his might and wonders.

To everything there is a purpose. There is no wasted space of time when you are right in the middle of the will of God.

  35. ““But what shall I write the emperor? For there is no clear charge against him. So I have brought him before all of you, and especially you, King Agrippa, so that after we examine him, I might have something to write.”
    ‭‭Acts of the Apostles‬ ‭25:26‬ ‭NLT

The enemies have not authority over you because we are in Jesus side. God will always win. Let’s stay in Jesus side because he will grant you the victory.

  36. “Then Festus said, “King Agrippa and all who are here, this is the man whose death is demanded by all the Jews, both here and in Jerusalem.”
Acts of the Apostles 25:24 NLT

Paul knew he was going to face tribulation as he came to Jerusalem to preach the gospel and many more challenges he will face but through it all, he stood firm to the word of God despite the opposition. Greater is He that is in us than the world. In every circumstance, we face let us stand firm to the word of God unto the end.

  37. Acts of the Apostles 25:7,19

[7]When Paul arrived, the Jewish leaders from Jerusalem gathered around and made many serious accusations they couldn’t prove.

People will talk about you and make false accusations against you. Pray for them

[19]Instead, it was something about their religion and a dead man named Jesus, who Paul insists is alive.

    Yes. Jesus is alive

  38. 8 While he answered for himself, Neither against the law of the Jews, neither against the temple, nor yet against Caesar, have I offended any thing at all.
9 But Festus, willing to do the Jews a pleasure, answered Paul, and said, Wilt thou go up to Jerusalem, and there be judged of these things before me?
10 Then said Paul, I stand at Caesar’s judgment seat, where I ought to be judged: to the Jews have I done no wrong, as thou very well knowest.
11 For if I be an offender, or have committed any thing worthy of death, I refuse not to die: but if there be none of these things whereof these accuse me, no man may deliver me unto them. I appeal unto Caesar.

Sometimes things look like they are not going our way, we still need to stand, unwilling to compromise our convictions, unwilling to agree to less than Jesus has promised..

  39. 25 But when I found that he had committed nothing worthy of death, and that he himself hath appealed to Augustus, I have determined to send him.

When a finger is pointed at someone/ something their are still three more pointing back at the person doing the pointing out. It takes examining ourselves first before casting judgment on others. Jesus told the men ready to stone the adulterous woman in John 8:7 that “He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.” Not one was without sin and none of us today are either. Jesus told the woman to go and sin no more. This meant repent of her sin.

Paul had not committed such an offense though. Otherwise, we would accept the accusations held against him. The conflict lies between church and state. The Romans honor innocent until proven guilty to their citizens but see the issue of religion as quizzical. Paul has not broken an actual Roman law to convict him of. So like hot potato Festus is warning Agrippa before he passes Paul off to him. The goal is to get him to the Roman Emperor himself as requested by Paul. Citizenship is a privilege to be a Roman. We should count it even the more so an honor to be an adopted heir and child of Jesus Christ. Their is no other Name whereby we must be saved.

  40. 26 Of whom I have no certain thing to write…

I wonder how many times in our lives we have felt like Festus. At a complete loss…having nothing to report.

(I understand that it was in regards to Paul being innocent, however still applicable to some of us today).

There have been circumstances that feel you are in a losing battle. You are placed in unfortunate situations that leave you with no certain thing to write. No direction.

As children of God, filled with the Holy Ghost we are privileged to be able to call on the Writer of it all.

When we are at a loss, The Creator can illustrate the next step.
When we feel uncertain, the Comforter is there.

We are given the opportunity to Live & Give Jesus without knowing the how the story plays out. We are given a gift to love Him regardless.

So if you have ever, or if you do feel like Festus. Feeling at a loss, remember you simply can call on Jesus. He’s not finished. Trust Him to Write His Will to be Done.

  41. 5 Let them therefore, said he, which among you are able, go down with me, and accuse this man, if there be any wickedness in him.

I wish someone would call me out!! And I mean this whole heartedly. We should have each other’s back and be in agreement with someone else. Having a friend, fellow saint, or family member and vice versa to call you out if they see any issues or wickedness in each other’s lives. Years ago, in a youth service night my youth pastor told us to find someone we were friends with and felt comfortable with. He then told us to make and hold each other accountable. We should be able to tell them, “I messed up this week or yesterday . . . and did this so-called mistake.” It stuck with me and made us learn to think before messing up/sinning. We should all have that friend and close saint.

  42. It is our job to do what we know to do. We are to try to live as righteous as we can. Even though we try to follow in righteousness, there are some times where we have to appeal to a higher power. When we appeal to Jesus he doesn’t misunderstand. When we appeal to Jesus he listens to what we say. Unlike King Agrippa Jesus knows and forgives. We have to apply the name of Jesus to any situation that needs a higher power!

  43. But in my opinion he has done nothing deserving death. However, since he appealed his case to the emperor, I have decided to send him to Rome.

Trust the process! God told Paul he would be spreading the Gospel to Rome. Rome was the epicenter of civilization in that day.
Lee Stoneking had a heart attack and was dead for several minutes before God brought him back to life. Because of that he was able to give a testimony at the United Nations Council.
What seemed like a scary life threatening issue ended up being a massive opportunity to testify of the power of the One named Jesus

  44. “But Paul appealed to have his case decided by the emperor. So I ordered that he be held in custody until I could arrange to send him to Caesar.” “I’d like to hear the man myself,” Agrippa said. And Festus replied, “You will—tomorrow!” So the next day Agrippa and Bernice arrived at the auditorium with great pomp, accompanied by military officers and prominent men of the city. Festus ordered that Paul be brought in.”

Sometimes our situations may seem unfair. Or sometimes undeserving. But if we could remind ourselves that God is in control and He has a plan. Perhaps if Paul never got arrested and wrongfully charged these people maybe have never heard the gospel.
    God will get the glory!
