Amos 4

Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.

The Lord God hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.

And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the Lord.

Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:

And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord God.

And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.

So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

I have smitten you with blasting and mildew: when your gardens and your vineyards and your fig trees and your olive trees increased, the palmerworm devoured them: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

10 I have sent among you the pestilence after the manner of Egypt: your young men have I slain with the sword, and have taken away your horses; and I have made the stink of your camps to come up unto your nostrils: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.

  1. 12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

12 is not a gospel call, but a message of judgment.

  2. ““All this I have done to you, Israel, and this is why I have done it. Time’s up, O Israel! Prepare to meet your God!””
    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭MSG‬‬

All we truly need in our Nation is to repent of our sins and turn our hearts back to our LORD JESUS CHRIST. The LORD is coming soon, many are caught up with their ways of living and so blinded that they don’t see the signs of the times. Again … judgement begins at home. GOD is not willing that any should perish. He has given us all a free will. ‘As for me and my house, we shall serve the LORD. He’s who we love, because HE first loved us. Today choose to come back to your first love. Hear the voice of GOD calling out to you.

“if my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”
    ‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭7:14‬ ‭KJV

  3. 1 Hear this word, ye kine of Bashan, that are in the mountain of Samaria, which oppress the poor, which crush the needy, which say to their masters, Bring, and let us drink.
2 The Lord God hath sworn by his holiness, that, lo, the days shall come upon you, that he will take you away with hooks, and your posterity with fishhooks.

I can only imagine how bad things must have been getting for God to have resorted to this. After making every other attempt to warn his children about their actions and to try to discipline them. They still continue to disobey and follow after other gods and commit abominations. What this whole book can also teach us besides the judgment and wrath of God is that not only can you push God too far but there are some people that just cannot be safe. While it’s ideal that people will hear the gospel and turn from their ways there are still those that will not budge on their beliefs and there is nothing that can prevent them from hell. Our job as Christians is not to save people from their ways but to reach for those that can be touched by God

  4. 11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

Sometimes people are barely saved from going to hell, like a firebrand/ branding iron removed from the fire. When hard times occur it could be for two reasons. One reason is because we are doing everthing right and it is like the ordeal of Job. The other reason is that the Lord is directing the hearts of man to seek His face. The Lord is the same yesterday and today, and we should have no other Gods before him.

  5. Verse 2 VOICE “The Eternal Lord has made a vow by His own holiness: Eternal One: The day will come when your enemy will drag you away with hooks like sides of beef—will subdue you with fishhooks, each and every one of you.” Same verse NLT “The Sovereign Lord has sworn this by his holiness: “The time will come when you will be led away with hooks in your noses. Every last one of you will be dragged away like a fish on a hook!” Same verse ERV “The Lord God made a promise. He promised by his holiness that troubles will come to you. People will use hooks and take you away as prisoners. They will use fishhooks to take away your children.” We must ask the Lord to help us recognize the snare of the enemy that is trying to lure us away. We must not allow the enemy to take us prisoner by the means of sin.

Verse 6 MSG “You know, don’t you, that I’m the One who emptied your pantries and cleaned out your cupboards, Who left you hungry and standing in bread lines? But you never got hungry for me. You continued to ignore me.” God’s Decree.” We must get hungry enough to cut the line of sin and turn back to God because it is NOT about us; but, about Him!

1 Corinthians 1:7-9 MSG “Just think—you don’t need a thing, you’ve got it all! All God’s gifts are right in front of you as you wait expectantly for our Master Jesus to arrive on the scene for the Finale. And not only that, but God himself is right alongside to keep you steady and on track until things are all wrapped up by Jesus. God, who got you started in this spiritual adventure, shares with us the life of his Son and our Master Jesus. He will never give up on you. Never forget that.”

  6. 13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.

Stubbornness!!! No matter what situation they were going through they did not turn to God. I have gone through some tough times but if there is one thing that I noticed in all of them is THAT ALL THINGS SEEMED BETTER WHEN I CRIED OUT TO GOD!!!! HE IS MY STRONG TOWER THAT I CAN RUN INTO!!!! What aMighty God we serve!!! He is a Miracle Working God but you MUST HUMBLY RUN TO HIM IN TIMES OF TROUBLE AS WELL AS GOOD TIMES!!!

  7. Verses 6, 8, 9, 10 & 11…
“…yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD.”

What does it take to get our attention? Why does it take a disaster or tragedy before we will return our hearts and lives back to God? Let’s break the cycle and give Him our whole heart now, and prevent whatever He would be forced to do to get our attention.

  8. Amos 4:12-13 Therefore this will I do unto thee, O Israel and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, Israel.
    (13) For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.
Psalm 40 : 2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
Jesus I will never forget how you brought me and how you change me.
For I will give him praise and glory.
Share his life to all people.

  9. 13 for low, he that former the mountains and created the wind and declarer unto men what it is his thought that make the the morning darkness and theater upon the high places of the earth the lord, the God of host is his name.

  10. Part of Amos from the Message translation….Come along to Bethel and sin!
And then to Gilgal and sin some more!
Bring your sacrifices for morning worship.
Every third day bring your tithe.
    Burn pure sacrifices—thank offerings.
    Speak up—announce freewill offerings!
That’s the sort of religious show
    you Israelites just love.”
    God’s Decree.

I look upon this as reference to some who “play” church and living for God. Only doing comfortable things and mixing worldly with Godly. This is not what the word teaches. So I’m thinking that when we go to Heaven is this how we want God to treat us? Do we want him to only give us part of our eternity living? As for me I give God all and I get all in return. I love POFW. LIVEJESUSGIVEJESUS2

  11. For the Lord is the one who shaped the mountains, stirs up the winds, and reveals his thoughts to mankind. He turns the light of dawn into darkness and treads on the heights of the earth. The Lord God of Heaven’s Armies is his name!
    Amos 4:13 NLT

We serve a powerful and gracious God. All he desires is relationship with us, so He also is a jealous God. Never forget the great things he has done for you and around you. Praise Him for His excellent greatness!

  12. “The Sovereign Lord has sworn this by his holiness: “The time will come when you will be led away with hooks in your noses. Every last one of you will be dragged away like a fish on a hook! You will be led out through the ruins of the wall; you will be thrown from your fortresses, ” says the Lord. “Go ahead and offer sacrifices to the idols at Bethel. Keep on disobeying at Gilgal. Offer sacrifices each morning, and bring your tithes every three days.”
    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:2-4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God sees you when no one else does.
Whatever you place before him is idolatry, obviously you can see how God feels about that. He might not cut you down right away but it does say your day will come. Just cause you get away with something now doesn’t mean you always will. Jesus sees all of that. Today I pray that we each observe every situation and every conversation before engaging into it..today I pray for the mind of Christ so when I do something I could do it like Jesus

  13. Amos 4. Message

    But you didn’t notice me.
    You continued to ignore me.”

The title in the Message translation says
“You Never Got Hungry For God”

Nothing can take the place of God in our life.
Daily I want to hunger for your presence Lord.
Daily I want to walk according to Your Word.

    Psalms 42
As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God? … Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life.

  14. Our God is a merciful God. One that will reach out to his people in an attempt to get their attention.

Back sliders will go through trail and trail over and over again just trying to find their own Carnel solution to things with out going back to Christ.

Your never to far from God that he doesn’t want to show you love. He’s just a turn away, from you being with him. And you finding peace and rest.

““I brought hunger to every city and famine to every town. But still you would not return to me,” says the Lord.”
    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  15. 11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

He gave them numerous of chances and they took them all for granted

  16. Even though God sent 5 calamities to Israel they still would not repent and continued to ignored God.

    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭MSG
““All this I have done to you, Israel, and this is why I have done it. Time’s up, O Israel! Prepare to meet your God!””

God gives us many times to repent and return to Him. One day your time will be up. You will have to face the consequences of your actions. I want to be ready at all times cause you never know when your time is up.
    ‭‭

  17. Amos 4:6 MSG
God’s love and care for Israel makes their judgment unavoidable. You know, don’t you, that I’m the One who emptied your pantries and cleaned out your cupboards, you left your hungry and standing in bread lines? But you never got hungry for me .
    God’s Decree.

Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

We must stay hungry for more of God.

    Live Jesus Give Jesus

  18. 12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.

The Lord began to speak to Israel and was given illustration of what was coming to them if they shunned of the opportunity to repent of their sins and deeds. God as we know is a merciful God and He is patient with each of us as we are stubborn set in our ways. We have the same problem today and we must be able to turn to repentance each and every day or God will deal harshly with each of us.

The apostle Paul had stated he had to die daily, we each have to come to repentance and find the grace and mercy of God afresh each morning. If he has given breath in your body and the ability to open your eyes, you have the ability to repent. Let’s submit ourselves to God and allow his will to be done in our lives.

  19. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
Reading this chapter we find that the prophet is describing a God who is trying to get folks attention. God is able to control the pests, He is able to control the weather, he is able to control famine. God will do all sorts of things to get the attention of his people. The thing about it is, are we willing to listen or will we harden our hearts like these folks did.

  20. Amos 4:7,9-10
[7]“I kept the rain from falling when your crops needed it the most. I sent rain on one town but withheld it from another. Rain fell on one field, while another field withered away.
[9]“I struck your farms and vineyards with blight and mildew. Locusts devoured all your fig and olive trees.
But still you would not return to me,” says the lord.
[10]“I sent plagues on you like the plagues I sent on Egypt long ago. I killed your young men in war and led all your horses away. The stench of death filled the air!
But still you would not return to me,” says the lord.

The Lord is all we need

  21. Vs- 6-11
Urges believers not to br like the horse or the mule which have no understanding but most be controlled by bits and bridle. Israel was even worse Gods people were unwilling to be controlled even though God used the rod.

  22. Amos 4:12-13 (AMP)
    12) Therefore this is what I shall do to you, O Israel; Because I will do this to you, Prepare to meet your God (in judgment), O Israel!
    13) For behold, He who formed the mountains and creates the wind And declares to man what are His thoughts, He who makes the dawn into darkness And treads on the heights of the earth — The Lord God of hosts is His name.

“Prepare To Meet Your God — The Lord God Of Hosts”
God — The Lord God Of Hosts — He is the One who formed the mountains and creates the wind. He is the One who declares to man what are His thoughts. He is the One who makes the dawn into darkness and treads on the heights of the earth.
God — The Lord God Of Hosts — He is the One we will all stand before one day and be judged for everything we have said and done. The question is, ” What are we doing right now to Prepare Ourselves for that day?”

  23. AMP – 7 “Furthermore, I withheld the rain from you
When there were still three months until the harvest.
Then I would send rain on one city,
    And on another city I would not send rain;
One piece of ground was rained on,
While the part not rained on would dry up.

Have you ever felt like everyone else was being blessed, and you were not? Sometimes you wondered how you could see someone not living right and it seemed like things was great for them, and here you are living right (in your own eyes) and there is a struggle.

Perhaps God is trying to get our attention. We can be doing right in our own eyes, but wrong in God’s eyes. Maybe our relationship is not where it should be, or even where God desire it to be. Maybe we are being stubborn in areas we need to be submitted in. Maybe we have just not accepted the plan God has for us, and are trying to circumvent His will to become our will.

Let’s take a look at our lives with the microscope of God’s word and allow Him to reveal any area of our life that we need to clean up, clean out, or rearrange in order for Him to be what He desires to us.

  24. 12“Therefore, I will bring upon you all the disasters I have announced. Prepare to meet your God in judgment, you people of Israel!”

If you’re disobedient, you will eventually pay the price for it. Don’t ever think your getting away with something, it will eventually catch up with you. God is watching your every step and action.

  25. LIVE – GIVE JESUS
    HUNGER AND THIRST

6 And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.
7 And also I have withholden the rain from you, when there were yet three months to the harvest: and I caused it to rain upon one city, and caused it not to rain upon another city: one piece was rained upon, and the piece whereupon it rained not withered.
8 So two or three cities wandered unto one city, to drink water; but they were not satisfied: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

We learn from the prophesies of Amos of how GOD reaches for HIS children. Often through famine and hardship does the LORD allow affliction that he may “get” our attention. But as with Israel of old, many of us are stubborn, hard headed and would rather give the devil credit than ask JESUS to forgive us and draw us close to HIM.

The MSG version is worded in such that we may relate to more clearly.

6 “You know, don’t you, that I’m the One
who emptied your pantries and cleaned out your cupboards,
Who left you hungry and standing in bread lines?
But you never got hungry for me. You continued to ignore me.”
    God’s Decree.
7-8 “Yes, and I’m the One who stopped the rains
    three months short of harvest.
I’d make it rain on one village
    but not on another.
I’d make it rain on one field
but not on another—and that one would dry up.
People would stagger from village to village
crazed for water and never quenching their thirst.
But you never got thirsty for me.
    You ignored me.”
    God’s Decree.

Many years ago, JESUS revealed to me that through HIS love for me and HIS Kingdom, that HE uses natural causes such as hunger and thirst to reach for our attention and obedience. When hardships come to me, I examine the areas of my relations with JESUS to see if and where I am lacking. A few times it has been that HE mentioned in this passage.

I was not THIRSTY for HIM. The Holy Ghost is a “River of Living Water” this meant to me that I needed more Prayer in the Holy Ghost.

    As well.

I was not HUNGRY for HIM. The WORD of GOD is the “Bread of Life” this meant to me that I needed more Time in the Bible.

To Live and Give JESUS we must respond to the famines, perils and hardships. The TIME will come when JESUS no longer reaches for, but will then judge:

    PREPARE TO MEET GOD
12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.

Let us pray continually for a Spiritual Hunger for the WORD of GOD and a Spiritual Thirst for the Spirit of GOD.

    iRepent
    iPraise

  26. ““I struck your farms and vineyards with blight and mildew. Locusts devoured all your fig and olive trees. But still you would not return to me,” says the Lord.”
    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬
God’s promise had been to bless them if they obeyed Him, and to curse them if they did not. If they had known His Word, they should have understood what was happening. It was within their own power to stop all of this. They just needed to repent and return to God.

  27. 6 And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

Anyone can stumble into sin and feel God calling them back to Him, but we are in far greater trouble when we hear God’s voice and still will not return to Him.

He will not force a relationship with anyone, but He loves us so much, He will continually pursue!

  28. God created and controls all things. God sustains the world by the same power with which HE created it… His Word

  29. 12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.
13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name

God gave warnings in the way of hardships to cause the people to call on him for help, even overthrew some, yet they did not see the need of the one true God who could help them. Now they have been given the ultimatum-prepare the meet the mighty God! Lord, I pray to be tender hearted and receive the warnings you give me today! And we are thankful for the warning preached by Bro Parker! Thank you Jesus for your word!

  30. 13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.

My God is able to do all things. There is still nothing to hard for God. When trouble comes our way, our God has the power to put a stop to it. The enemy does not want us to realize what God is able to do, but once we understand that nothing is to hard for him, we able to walk in the power of word.

  31. 12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

We must be ready and prepared for the day that He comes back. We must prepare our hearts, minds, and spirits for Him to have His way!!! I pray tonight that we are all preparing for the Lords return, and are ready to see His mighty works!!!

  32. “Therefore, I will bring upon you all the disasters I have announced. Prepare to meet your God in judgment, you people of Israel!””
    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

I pray that we realize that God is coming, that we need to prepare ourselves prepare our mind, our lives, and our hearts. Let us start living for the Lord full heartedly not half heartedly when we want to. I pray we’re getting the work of the Lord done, spreading his word telling the lost that God is coming back for his children and there will be a day of judgment. Show them how to go to the Lord in prayer seeking for forgiveness and help them through their questions while they change their life’s to the Lord.

  33. ““Therefore, I will bring upon you all the disasters I have announced. Prepare to meet your God in judgment, you people of Israel!””
    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:12‬ ‭NLT

Why haven’t people turned to God in 2020? One of the main reason people didn’t turn to God is because of change. People do not like change because of flesh. Flesh nature is sinful, the Bible talks about flesh and the sinful nature of it. We must not be in slave of flesh because it will cause us to be disconnected from the church, man of God, and God. Many disasters and temptations will come out way, but we shouldn’t let it take over us. Stand boldly and stay strong!

  34. Amos 4

Israel turned their back on God. God used His power to try to get Israel to come back to Him. He kept giving them warnings, but to no avail. They ignored God’s attempts and were so stubborn. God told them to get ready to meet their maker! I realize people were lacking common sense in the past, and today as well. I am thankful for POFW to give us the truth and redirect those that are lost.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  35. 11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

Sometimes when things go hard in life for us we may have to ask the Lord if we have a Kingdom issue. Have we strayed from you Lord? Is everything ok? We may just have to repent, turn back to the Lord. Do not harden your heart. Do not go numb to the voice of the Lord and his works. Rather humble yourself and seek God.

  36. “…yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.“

A refusal to turn to God will cause you to continue to go through trials. At some point I would hope that people realize this but they often do not.

  37. ““I destroyed some of your cities, as I destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Those of you who survived were like charred sticks pulled from a fire. But still you would not return to me,” says the Lord.”
    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:11‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We have a choice to follow God’s ways or the of sin. What we chose to follow will set up our eternity and there’s a coming where we will be face to face with Jesus being judged. Don’t delay another day knowing you could have done everything to be saved.

  38. ““I destroyed some of your cities, as I destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah. Those of you who survived were like charred sticks pulled from a fire. But still you would not return to me,” says the Lord. “Therefore, I will bring upon you all the disasters I have announced. Prepare to meet your God in judgment, you people of Israel!””
    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:11-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We can’t be of this world that we live in. As Christians we belong to Jesus and are citizens of heaven. We can’t have love for this world.

“What is causing the quarrels and fights among you? Don’t they come from the evil desires at war within you? You want what you don’t have, so you scheme and kill to get it. You are jealous of what others have, but you can’t get it, so you fight and wage war to take it away from them. Yet you don’t have what you want because you don’t ask God for it. And even when you ask, you don’t get it because your motives are all wrong—you want only what will give you pleasure. You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. Do you think the Scriptures have no meaning? They say that God is passionate that the spirit he has placed within us should be faithful to him. And he gives grace generously. As the Scriptures say, “God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble.” So humble yourselves before God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come close to God, and God will come close to you. Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world. Let there be tears for what you have done. Let there be sorrow and deep grief. Let there be sadness instead of laughter, and gloom instead of joy. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up in honor.”
    ‭‭James‬ ‭4:1-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  39. “For the Lord is the one who shaped the mountains, stirs up the winds, and reveals his thoughts to mankind. He turns the light of dawn into darkness and treads on the heights of the earth. The Lord God of Heaven’s Armies is his name!”
    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The lord hears sees and knows all. It is important that we follow him and stay in his will. He is the one who created the heavens and the earth. When we choose to continue to not obey him and walk in sin there is consequences. This is why we must always remember to walk in the light of the lord and ensure we are in his will.

  40. Ye have not returned unto me….

All the terrible things that God allowed to happen to Israel was just to get their attention. Just to turn their heads from Evil. When Lot pitched his tent toward Sodom, it wasn’t too late, he could have repented and never taken his family there. But Lot must have ignored those messages from God to turn around. This busy world we live in can sneak evil upon you before you know what hit you. We must stay aware and tuned in with God so that when he’s trying to get our attention, we don’t have to be punished just to go a different direction. I tell my children, I don’t want to punish you but I will if you don’t start acting right. This is a good fathers position. He doesn’t want to have to lift his hand but he will if he has to. I don’t know about you all but I’m done learning the hard way. I am tuned in ready to turn when he calls. Some folk just have to get sick of the mess before they will return to God.

  41. 4 Come to Bethel, and transgress; at Gilgal multiply transgression; and bring your sacrifices every morning, and your tithes after three years:
5 And offer a sacrifice of thanksgiving with leaven, and proclaim and publish the free offerings: for this liketh you, O ye children of Israel, saith the Lord God.

Many people have the attitude of “well I’ll give this, because I want to go eat later this week? And I need money for that. “ unfortunately that isn’t how Jesus works.

  42. 6 And I also have given you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and want of bread in all your places: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

We and I especially can be so ungrateful when I know what GOD has done for me and i dont serve the way I am supposed to serve!!! GOD does not forsake us , it is I , me , olivia who forsakes the LORD every time I am disobedient or rebellious!!! I love You JESUS!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR FAITHFULNESS!!!

  43. Amos Chapter 4

13 For, lo, he that formeth the mountains, and createth the wind, and declareth unto man what is his thought, that maketh the morning darkness, and treadeth upon the high places of the earth, The Lord, The God of hosts, is his name.

I say truly He is The Lord, the God of Hosts, is his name. I declare His Name is Jesus. Verse 13 makes me want to shout and praise His Name. He knows what He is doing in the past and he knows what he will do in the present and in the future.

Psalm 24:7 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in.

Psalm 24:8 Who is this King of glory? The LORD strong and mighty,
    The LORD mighty in battle.

Psalm 24:9 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.

Psalm 24:10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah

All the verses above 13 God was trying to bring his children, the children of Israel back from their sins and they would not. God is going the same thing today and we shall see what lengths He will do to bring the greatest revival on this earth. There will be shortages, hatred spills in the streets, and a devalue in the housing market. All this will happen and more and they will know that money can not fix these problems. During all this mess men will get on there knees and begin to look up and say Psalm 124:7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Psalm 124:8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
Praise Jesus He is the Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

  44. 11 I have overthrown some of you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and ye were as a firebrand plucked out of the burning: yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the Lord.

Listen to His voice. Don’t ignore His voice, His Calling. Be sensitive to Him. The Lord calls us in many different ways. We are all appointed in different areas but for one purpose to grow His Kingdom.

  45. They found god and they
Develop it all and Israel also
Did it too and then Jesus
Took it away and turn everything
    Into
    Normal

  46. 3 And ye shall go out at the breaches, every cow at that which is before her; and ye shall cast them into the palace, saith the Lord.

12 Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel.

Long story short, they have been blessed. They have been BLESSED, they have been blessed big, they have been blessed over and abundantly, and they are blessed and highly favored. And throughout they chapter proves there blessing and then concludes with, “You’re blessed and you will continue to do it over and over and over again. He continues to watch out for us and he continues to do it over and over again.

  47. ““I brought hunger to every city and famine to every town. But still you would not return to me,” says the Lord.”
    ‭‭Amos‬ ‭4:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Sometimes Jesus does things just to get our attention. It’s better just to stay in tune with him than to have yo let Jesus go yo the extreme to get us to follow him.

  48. When people falter and become destructive to themselves and others God doesn’t take that lightly. You can turn it around or be consumed.
