Isaiah 16

Send ye the lamb to the ruler of the land from Sela to the wilderness, unto the mount of the daughter of Zion.

For it shall be, that, as a wandering bird cast out of the nest, so the daughters of Moab shall be at the fords of Arnon.

Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.

Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kirhareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken.

For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they wandered through the wilderness: her branches are stretched out, they are gone over the sea.

Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.

10 And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.

11 Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kirharesh.

12 And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.

13 This is the word that the Lord hath spoken concerning Moab since that time.

14 But now the Lord hath spoken, saying, Within three years, as the years of an hireling, and the glory of Moab shall be contemned, with all that great multitude; and the remnant shall be very small and feeble.

  1. Isaiah 16:3
“Help us,” they cry. “Defend us against our enemies. Protect us from their relentless attack. Do not betray us now that we have escaped.

Psalms 18:48 (KJV) He delivereth me from mine enemies: yea, thou liftest me up above those that rise up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man.

    Psalms 46:1
God is our refuge and strength, always ready to help in times of trouble.

  2. 13This is the word the Lord has already spoken concerning Moab. 14But now the Lord says: “Within three years, as a servant bound by contract would count them, Moab’s splendor and all her many people will be despised, and her survivors will be very few and feeble.”

The word of the Lord has spoken concerning Moab, he will along with all his people wi be despised. The greatness of haughtiness within Moab will no longer be there because there will be very few people of Moab left. The Lord give the and He take the away. Especially when concerning the blessings and also the wrath of his judgment.

As a society that straddling the fence will find that sin will be enjoyed but a season and then the hammer will drop. The very success that many were experiencing, will no longer be successful. Many of the sinners will be turned over to reprobate and the church will eventually enjoy victory in God’s timing. It is not time to grow weary in well doing, it’s time to push until the trumpet sounds. It’s time for revival.

  3. 6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭ “Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall.”

  4. Verses 6-7 ERV “We have heard that the people of Moab are very proud and conceited. They are hot-tempered braggers, but their boasts are only empty words. Because of their pride, everyone in Moab will mourn. They will wish for the way things used to be. They will wish for the raisin cakes from Kir Hareseth.[c]. Wow, you can’t have your cake and eat it too! Our Proverb today says in verse 17 AMP “Food gained by deceit is sweet to a man, But afterward his mouth will be filled with gravel [just as sin may be sweet at first, but later its consequences bring despair].” Proverbs 16:18 MSG says “First pride, then the crash—the bigger the ego, the harder the fall.” LIVE-GIVE JESUS²

  5. “We have heard about proud Moab— about its pride and arrogance and rage. But all that boasting has disappeared. The entire land of Moab weeps. Yes, everyone in Moab mourns for the cakes of raisins from Kir-hareseth. They are all gone now.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭16:6-7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    Pride comes before destruction
Pride and arrogance will only bring someone down to the ground. They won’t stand, the Bible tells us to humble ourselves and pray so there’s a starter what we need to do every single day so we don’t fall quite like this.

  6. 12. The people of Moab will worship at their pagan shrines, but it will do them no good. They will cry to the gods in their temples, but no one will be able to save them. NLT

Any worship or cries to anything or anyone other than the one, true living God are not only in vain, but counterproductive because they offend the very one who could help.

  7. 5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

It never ceases to amaze me, seeing the mercy of God in the midst of judgment. Since the first sin with Adam and Eve God has dealt with his people during their evil times with Justice and mercy simultaneously. He punishes and he promises to save. Mercy is not the absence of Justice or the exception from judgment but rather the grace that has given during judgment. Something that we can all be thankful for that are God is a merciful and loving but righteous judge

  8. We have heard about proud Moab— about its pride and arrogance and rage. But all that boasting has disappeared.
    Isaiah 16:6 NLT

We hear preaching and teachings about pride. We hear stories of how pride leads people to destruction. We may even be able to identify others with pride – but are we able to identify within ourselves? Pride often comes with blinders so you don’t realize it until it brutally confronts you. This is why it’s so important we daily check ourselves and align ourselves with His Word. We must daily crucify this flesh and surrender ourselves for His glory and His greater Will and purpose to be done.

  9. 3“Help us,” they cry. “Defend us against our enemies.
Protect us from their relentless attack. Do not betray us now that we have escaped.

Daily, we all reach out to God to help us in some manner. We should thank God daily for our blessings, healings, protection and everything he’s provided for us. Then ask anything in Jesus name and it shall be given to you.

  10. Isaiah 16:1-5

Moabs only hope is in making peace with Judah.

Proverbs 27:8 As a bird that wandereth from her nest, so is a man that wandereth from his place.

Psalm 72:2 He shall judge thy people with righteousness, and thy poor with judgment.

  11. 13 This is the word the Lord has already spoken concerning Moab. 14 But now the Lord says: “Within three years, as a servant bound by contract would count them, Moab’s splendor and all her many people will be despised, and her survivors will be very few and feeble.”
    Isaiah 16:13‭-‬14 NIV

There are always consequences to sin. God is a merciful God and gives so many opportunities to turn from certain destructive behaviors. This is why hiding the word of God in our hearts and having it always at the forefront of our mind is so important. That we would allow it to guide us in all decisions. But now He’s saying because Moab brought about their own judgment they will be left in ruin. Like being in jail and counting the days before you get out they were left to count the days as they watched their fellow countrymen die around them. And it’s not God who wishes these things on people, but the consequences of their own sin brings it about. I was delivered from drug addiction 8 years ago, but still had to deal with the consequences of my years of a sinful life. There are always consequences to sin.

    PRIDE = DESTRUCTION

6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.
7 Therefore shall Moab howl for Moab, every one shall howl: for the foundations of Kirhareseth shall ye mourn; surely they are stricken.

We find here the biblical example of:

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Moab so full of its self, ignored and replaced GOD, they moved the ALTAR of sacrifice and built the altar of convenience. JESUS help us to never forget our humble beginnings.

  13. 16 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

We shouldn’t be full of pride we should be full of love of humility for everything comes from God.
‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭ “Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall.”

  14. Isaiah 16:3 Take counsel , excited judgement; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.
First of all reach out to Lord in prayer.
Always make sure to thank him and give him praise and glory for all he has done for you and your family and your church family.
    Your
Thank for another day, your healings, for your blessings , and for protection and guidness.
Pray in Jesus name what you need for him to do for you that day.
    I love Jesus.

  15. Isaiah 16
9 Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.

We must truly weep for the lost of this world .
    In Jesus name .

  16. AMP – 13 This is the word which the Lord spoke earlier concerning Moab [when Moab’s pride and resistance to God were first known].

Nothing separates us from God faster than pride. Moabs downfall was pride and resistance to God. If we resist God long enough, He will turn from us and when we want Him, He will not be there. We will have to go back to where we left Him (the altar) and humble ourselves in order to find Him.

As in this chapter, Moab’s destruction was because they ignored God and filled themselves with their selfish, prideful ways.

  17. 12 And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail

Prayer came last during all of Moab’s judgement but it won’t help them now. Whether they prayed to their gods or to the Lord God, it is too little too late. Today is the day of salvation, seek him now while he may be found.

  18. 16:12 and it shall come to pass when it is seen that Moab is weary, on the high place, that he shall come to His sanctuary
To pray, but he shall not prevail.
    —-
( NT) … and when they heard everything that Peter
Spoke, they felt guilty, distress, their hearts were pricked…
They took a step and ask a question… after that they told a step of faith and obey the word…
Don’t we want unbelievers to come , repent and be baptized? Dot we want for someone s life to be changed forever?
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
    There is no other.
Of course he was not going to be heard of our ese it was not going to work, , for he was going to the wrong place.
Only in Jesus there is and will be deliverance .
    He is our help.

  19. 6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be

The downfall of Moab is caused by his pride and haughtiness. Don’t let your pride and your arrogance get in the middle of what God wants you to do.

    A.l.m.a.s.

  20. I love POFW! LIVEJESUSGIVEJESUS2! I have been taught for almost 24 years now that pride will bring you down. I have seen it and it’s not good to the eye. I want people to see thankfulness and goodness I possess because Jesus saved me!

  21. 6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

Pride is the top characteristic that the Lord hates and we should guard against pride, so we do incur the Lord’s wrath.

  22. “The people of Moab will worship at their pagan shrines, but it will do them no good. They will cry to the gods in their temples, but no one will be able to save them.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭16:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The people of Moab were so stubborn they worshiped their false idols till they died even when God was destroying them for being evil

  23. Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.

KEEP EVERYTHING WHERE IT’S SUPPOSED TO BE. Keep the devil under your feet and keep God in your life. It’s very simple yet made overcomplicated by the world today. We need to keep our life in check. It’s really easy if you don’t make it hard.

  24. For the fields of Heshbon languish, and the vine of Sibmah: the lords of the heathen have broken down the principal plants thereof, they are come even unto Jazer, they wandered through the wilderness.

  25. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
The issue here with Moab is very clearly pride. God has to judge pride because pride is the spirit of lucifer. The sad thing is, this year is the first year I really saw the United States start focusing so intensely on pride month. God will not allow this nation to continue in the spirit of pride, we will be just like Moab here.

  26. 4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

This is why it’s good be humble and not let pride rise because then destruction will come.

  27. Isaiah 16:12 (NLT)
“The people of Moab will worship at their pagan shrines, but it will do them no good. They will cry to the gods in their temples, but no one will be able to save them.”

Why wont’ it do them any good to worship at their pagan shrines? Why won’t their gods be able to save them?
Because they are “… the work of men’s hands. They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not:… (PS. 115:4-7). Their gods are not real.

So thankful to know the One True Living God – JESUS!
HE can do ANYTHING! Nothing is to hard for HIM!
    We Worship HIM!
    HE will Save us!

  28. 4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.
5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

In love a throne will be established in faithfulness a man will sit on it one from the house of David one who in judging seeks justice and speeds the cause of righteousness. For God is a righteous God.

  29. 9 Therefore I will bewail with the weeping of Jazer the vine of Sibmah: I will water thee with my tears, O Heshbon, and Elealeh: for the shouting for thy summer fruits and for thy harvest is fallen.
10 And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.

We are to know those that labor among us, but we have to judge their fruits…
Imagine, laboring, and getting no fruit. Having fruit, but it’s rotten and full of worms. When we work in our flesh instead of working spiritually, we do just that, we either bear no or rotten fruit.

  30. When I read Isaiah 16, you see the continuation of idol worship and the pride that Moab had. We are lucky that we have such a caring Pastor, that he blogs daily, so we can understand what people like Moab did. This should set us an excellent example of what NOT to do. We are fortunate to have our Bible, in order to study and learn how we must be. Pride, doing your own thing, I see many people living this way. I love the POFW and my brothers and sisters in Christ. We must follow Pastor and sister Watts leadership. They are guiding us in the way of Jesus Christ.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  31. 10 And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease

Without Jesus true joy and gladness can never exist.

  32. “The people of Moab will worship at their pagan shrines, but it will do them no good. They will cry to the gods in their temples, but no one will be able to save them.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭16:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

There is only one true living God. Many people in this world are living and worshiping to false gods, and as we see people from Moab did the exact same, and nothing came out of it till the Lord came and destroyed Moab from the sin. I pray that as the children of the Lord we go out and reach the lost, show them and preach to them help them understand who is the one true living God. In the mix the enemy will try to distract you and will use people close to you. Even then we must stand tall in faith and keep pushing to spread the gospel. I hope daily that we do Gods work for he will notice and bless you.

  33. 12 And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.

The church is a place of worship. It’s good that we pray 30 minutes prior to our services, it gets the spirit good and flowing before we enter the sanctuary. I pray tonight that you pray tonight lol.

  34. protection and everything he’s provided for us. Then ask anything in Jesus name and it shall be given to you.

  35. 5 And in mercy shall the throne be established: and he shall sit upon it in truth in the tabernacle of David, judging, and seeking judgment, and hasting righteousness.

God’s throne is established forever. Because our king sits on the throne and reigns Supreme, we have power. The power to walk right, talk right and live right. He gives us that power to go against the enemy. The enemy has no power over the children of God. You must be a willing vessel to his tactics.

  36. “The Lord has already said these things about Moab in the past.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭16:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Once the lord says something it will not change. No matter how long ago it was said his words will never change. This is why it is so important that we take heed to the warnings from him because when he says something is going to one to pass it will come to pass.

  37. 12 And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.

  38. iLove blogging the extra mile2
Pro 20:17  Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.

This scripture reminds me of the story of Pastor when God taught him how not to cuss. He said he tried to curse but it felt like gravel was in his mouth😂

  39. Isaiah Chapter 16

4 Let mine outcasts dwell with thee, Moab; be thou a covert to them from the face of the spoiler: for the extortioner is at an end, the spoiler ceaseth, the oppressors are consumed out of the land.

The Lord says we will always have the poor in our midst do not reject them do not exploit them for in so doing you will be judged.

Exo 22:25 If thou lend money to any of my people that is poor by thee, thou shalt not be to him as an usurer, neither shalt thou lay upon him usury

Deu 15:9 Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee.

What is the inharantence of the poor in spirit?
Mat 5:3 Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 11:5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. The Gospel is for all people no matter the state of their lives. The Gospel needs to be preached to all, Mat 6:33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

  40. Let our outcasts of Moab live among you; Be a [sheltered] hiding place to them from the destroyer.” For the extortioner has come to an end, destruction has ceased, Oppressors [who trample men] have completely disappeared from the land,
    Isaiah 16:4 AMP

The Lord is a hiding place. What is a hiding place?
A hiding place is a place where someone or something is hidden or can be hidden. But why would anyone be in need of a hiding place? More specifically, some one who believes in the Lord? I belive we all need the Lord to be our hiding place at one point or another in our lives. Something or someone we are running from and He presents himself as a place of shelter. A place of safety from the enemy. A place where I can let my guard down and just be frail and fragile me. The psalmist in an unequivocal way
    Puts it like this:

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress, My God, in whom I trust [with great confidence, and on whom I rely]!” For He will save you from the trap of the fowler, And from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you and completely protect you with His pinions, And under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and a wall.
    Psalms 91:1‭-‬4 AMP

Why? Why would we need a hiding place, why would be run and hide?? I could only infer that until the Lord heals our identity and shows his love and care for us then we have the need for him to be just that. Exactly just that. Not a theory, or system or method, just our safe place. Then when we know who is that dwells within us and how we walk with Him we know that we stand together with the one that has all dominion, power and authority. Then we will not need to hide or need of a hiding place but rather we will stand firm with Him and hold our ground because we shall know that no weapon for against us shall prosper. And that is a promise written in the word for us to get a hold of. Albeit, like I mentioned the prerequisite is to know who we are in Him.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD.
    Isaiah 54:17 KJV

  41. Prayer that do not prevail

12 And it shall come to pass, when it is seen that Moab is weary on the high place, that he shall come to his sanctuary to pray; but he shall not prevail.

They prayed tonthir false gods thinking their prayers would be answered. These ridiculous prayer will not prevail. Jesus told Peterin Matthew “upon this rock I shall build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

Let us understand that truth is the rock. This is a very special rock that cannot be broken by the enemy. He the enemies lives can be broken by His word! Let’s be careful to not believe more in the things of this life than the God that created all things. Don’t waist time putting all your belief and trust in any other except Jesus!

  42. Isaiah 16 is the sixteenth chapter of the Book of Isaiah in the Hebrew Bible or the Old Testament of the Christian Bible. This book contains the prophecies attributed to the prophet Isaiah, and is one of the Books of the Prophets

  43. “The Lord has already said these things about Moab in the past.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭16:13‬
Pride, rebellion, and sin will keep a distance between you and GOD.
True repentance towards GOD can change any circumstance. And draw anyone back to HIS mercy. Pride and Rebellion has swept across this nation, and it will be destroyed if we as a church don’t intercede daily for our world.

““Now, son of man, I am making you a watchman for the people of Israel. Therefore, listen to what I say and warn them for me.”
    ‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭33:7‬ ‭

  44. His lies shall not be so

6 We have heard of the pride of Moab; he is very proud: even of his haughtiness, and his pride, and his wrath: but his lies shall not be so.

No matter what the enemy is speaking to you, we know that it is not so. He is the father of lies and the truth is not in him. We can literally take what the enemy says and turn it back in him because we know it is a lie. If he says “ you are not going to make it.” The answer is “ yes I am “

  45. Isaiah 16

“then God will establish one of David’s descendants as king. He will rule with mercy and truth. He will always do what is just and be eager to do what is right.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭16:5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Lord, let your throne be Established over the POFW! That your Kingdom would come over us. Rule and Reign over us.

  46. “Gone now is the gladness, gone the joy of harvest. There will be no singing in the vineyards, no more happy shouts, no treading of grapes in the winepresses. I have ended all their harvest joys.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭16:10 NLT

Jesus, let us never lose our joy and gladness in Your harvest. I pray we always rejoice with praising and singing every time a soul is baptized in Jesus name, every time soul is filled with the Holy Ghost, every time a prodigal returns home, every time someone receives revelation. No matter how we feel, I pray we always rejoice for a soul because they are worth it. God Thankyou for the harvest

  47. 3 Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.
10 And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting: the treaders shall tread out no wine in their presses; I have made their vintage shouting to cease.

No happiness, no singing, no shouting, no joy. . . But why????? “. . .Take counsel, execute judgment; make thy shadow as the night in the midst of the noonday; hide the outcasts; bewray not him that wandereth.” Be careful to follow closely and be not part of those that use busy betraying.

11 Wherefore my bowels shall sound like an harp for Moab, and mine inward parts for Kirharesh.

That was some kind off as, that it made their bowels song!!??!?

  48. We can change God’s intentions for us. God has plans for a desired outcome, but our free will can change what happens. When we choose to look away or when we choose something outside of that plan, the end changes. This is why we walk by faith and not by sight. We have to let the Lord be a lamp u to our feet and a light into our path so that by faith we finish the course he wanted us to stay in.

  49. 5 then a throne will be established in steadfast love,
and on it will sit in faithfulness
    in the tent of David
one who judges and seeks justice
and is swift to do righteousness.”

The throne God seeks to establish is amazing. Traits of a King

    Established in Love
    Sits in Faithfulness
    Who Judges
    Who seeks justice
    Swift to do righteousness
