Hosea 13

When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.

And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.

Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.

Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.

Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them:

I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.

O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.

10 I will be thy king: where is any other that may save thee in all thy cities? and thy judges of whom thou saidst, Give me a king and princes?

11 I gave thee a king in mine anger, and took him away in my wrath.

12 The iniquity of Ephraim is bound up; his sin is hid.

13 The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.

14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

15 Though he be fruitful among his brethren, an east wind shall come, the wind of the Lord shall come up from the wilderness, and his spring shall become dry, and his fountain shall be dried up: he shall spoil the treasure of all pleasant vessels.

16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

  1. 13 The sorrows of a travailing woman shall come upon him: he is an unwise son; for he should not stay long in the place of the breaking forth of children.

14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death: O death, I will be thy plagues; O grave, I will be thy destruction: repentance shall be hid from mine eyes.

RSV translates the first part of this verse as a questions ransom them from the power of Sheol? Shall Redeem them from death?” The implied answer is “No” Instead, He will call to Death for its plagues, and the Grave(Sheol) for its destruction, because pity is hidden from His eyes. This verse, however, is quoted in a different sense in

    1 Corinthians 15:55
“O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?”

  2. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

We can only serve one master and that’s Jesus because he is one that give us eternal life.
    Thank You Jesus!

  3. Men keep making the same mistakes over and over again. It is sad to watch how they continue their choice journey to hell. Our God is a Jealous God, He does not want us to praise anything else but Him; but here they go again making images to worship. That was one of my first realizations that something was very wrong in the religion I was born to, and when I asked I got a generic answer that I was too young to understand. All I knew was that God said do not worship images but I was being made to kneel in front of multiple images to pray. I pray God would open the eyes of all the people that are growing up Catholics to realize that is NOT the wish of God unto our lives.

  4. 6 According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.

The Lord wants to bless us. Sometimes it is our faithfulness that leads us to experience trials, other times it is the fact that we live in a fallen world, which causes us to struggle. Regardless of trials or struggles, our fallen nature can war with our flesh and cause us to loss focus, resulting in moving away from a relatioship with the Lord. Every good thing comes from the Lord and we need to give Him all of the glory.

  5. 4. Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

People can worship all the gods and idols they can think of, but the one, true, living God is the only one that can save us and is therefore literally the only Savior!

  6. Tenemos que continuar con nuestro diario vivir bajo la voluntad de DIOS para no entrar en la maldicion.

  7. ““I have been the Lord your God ever since I brought you out of Egypt. You must acknowledge no God but me, for there is no other savior. I took care of you in the wilderness, in that dry and thirsty land. But when you had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭13:4-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We can’t forget what God has called us for. You don’t wanna make the Lord angry after reading this chapter and seeing his frustration and anger with these folk it just gives all the more reason to stay the course

  8. 9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.

    Psalm 121
    1
I lift up my eyes to the hills– where does my help come from?
    2
My help comes from the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
    3
    He will not let your foot slip– he who watches over you will not slumber;
    4
indeed, he who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
    5
    The LORD watches over you– the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
    6
the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.
    7
    The LORD will keep you from all harm– he will watch over your life;
    8
the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.

My GOD IS FAITHFUL AND JUST!!! HE IS OUR HELP!!!

  9. 3 Therefore they shall be as the morning cloud and as the early dew that passeth away, as the chaff that is driven with the whirlwind out of the floor, and as the smoke out of the chimney.
4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

What happens whenever people take advantage of the grace of God? Judgment. Whenever people don’t see the errors of their way and they allow the dispensation of Grace to cloud their eyes rather than offer a chance of repentance, God is then in the place as a judge. The people of God need to spread the gospel as much as possible and live in the fullness of Truth but also need to share that we not only serve a God of love but there is a judgment coming for those who refuse to turn away from wickedness. Now standing on a street corner casting down judgment on those who are living in sin is obviously not and effective method but we can learn from the scripture that God will not tolerate sin and share that a judgment is coming for those that are wicked in a way that people can take the opportunity for grace and repent

  10. 9 O Isrrael, thou hast destroyed thyself
But in me is thine help.

14:1 Israel you fell in sinned against God
So come back to the Lord your God
Think about what you will say
And come back to the Lord
    Say to Him:
    Take a way our sin
And accept these words as our sacrifice…..
    —-
God does not ignore his people, but instead He cares.
Everything in this world is temporary
But his love for his people is everlasting.
In no one and in nothing else
HELP, help is what the proud needs
And God is willing to do it.

  11. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

There is one God, one Savior!
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭45:22‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ “Look to Me, and be saved, All you ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.”

  12. Now they “continue” to sin

“Now they continue to sin by making silver idols, images shaped skillfully with human hands. “Sacrifice to these,” they cry, “and kiss the calf idols!” Therefore, they will disappear like the morning mist, like dew in the morning sun, like chaff blown by the wind, like smoke from a chimney.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭13:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

They understand 100% what they were doing they knew God was mad and upset. They knew God was was furious in their disobedience. But they still chose to sin and to continue the sin.

Lord give us wisdom don’t let us dig our own grave or of arrogance and pride. Let us be able to be stand correction and call on your name for you to change our attitude. May we not lift any idols up before you. Take it away and let you be established in my house.

  13. “According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭13:6 KJV

Not by might, nor by power but by my spirit. Jesus has given and continues to give us so much. Because of His faithfulness we reap the blessings of His Word. Not because of who we are but because of who He is. The Lion of Judah, the great I Am, the Lily in the Valley, the Way the Truth and the Life. Thank you Jesus for being the one true living God.

Separation and isolation are the plots, plans and processes of our spiritual adversary. The desire of the devil is to make us feel lonely, helpless and hopeless.

    BUT

The LORD is a continual reminder of HIS love for and to us. JESUS is the GOD of our Egypt experience, the GOD of our wilderness experience, the GOD of our drought or famine experience.

We are Wise, Blessed and Protected to remember the LOVE of JESUS in times of HIGH Victory and or LOW Famine. When in abundance or abased, remember JESUS is our LORD and SAVIOR and there is NO other.

JESUS himself affirms, HE is our SAVIOR.

Luke 2:11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

John 4:42 And said unto the woman, Now we believe, not because of thy saying: for we have heard him ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Christ, the Saviour of the world.

This is not a contradiction between the father (GOD of the Old Testament) and JESUS. IT is a confirmation that JESUS is GOD.

  15. 13 Pain has come to the people like the pain of childbirth, but they are like a child who resists being born. The moment of birth has arrived, but they stay in the womb!
    Hosea 13:13 NLT

    1 Corinthians 13:11
    King James Version
11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.

God was saying it was time to move forward, but no one wanted to move! No one wanted to put away childish things.
What might we be holding on to that God is revealing “it’s time to grow up. It’s time to move forward. In Jesus Name

  16. ““I have been the Lord your God ever since I brought you out of Egypt. You must acknowledge no God but me, for there is no other savior.”

Thankful for His mercy and love that has been on my life. And here is no other but him that can bring me healing and pace in my life!!! Hallelujah!!!!
““I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.””

  17. Hosea 13
4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

Sun has taken a rampage just as it happened to Israel . Yet God is still God! Now is the time of salvation. Truly we must guard ourself from any type of idolatry. Israel had been delivered from Egypt yet there seemingly appears that Egypt still has a hold of their heart. We must die our daily to this world abd not allow anything to catch our heart strings that would destroy our walk with God .

    Romans 12:2

Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

  18. iLove the Kingdom of Jesus2
When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.

Wow, Boom there it is, first verse explains it all. Clear as day, bible clearly shows us all a basic principle we could all learn from…basically summed up like this, “when your humble the Lord is going to lift you up, but when you exalt yourself, then God will humble you

  19. AMP – When Ephraim spoke, there was trembling and terror.
    He exalted himself [above the other tribes] in Israel;
But through [the worship of] Baal he became guilty and died [spiritually, and then came ruin, sealing Israel’s doom as a nation].

Once Ephraim had influence for the good, but because he worshipped Baal, he died spiritually. When we play with idolatry in our lives, it brings spiritual death.
People think they can handle just a little sin, but a little soon consumes and becomes a lot and before you know it, sin has taken over the life, and relationship with God is long forgotten about.

    Matthew 6:24
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.

  20. Hosea 14:4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no savior beside me.

Psalm 81:9,10 There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.
I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

Acts 4:12 Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under Heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

Idolatry will be punished as the word warns.

  21. How can someone forget God?

6 According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.

God does not promise a life free of trails. In fact, this is how we grow. As the cliché states; how do we know how high the mountain top is if we have never been to the valley? Whether you are single, married, young, old, male or female, we all have bad days. Sometimes there are bad weeks, months, and even years, and it feels like a struggle to stay positive. There are times in our lives when we feel like we are fighting one bad situation after another. And if you are like me, we feel guilty that we are experiencing sadness because as a child of God, we should be joyful at all times, right?

What caught my attention when reading this morning, is the extreme blessing as stated in verse 6. A person whose needs are completely met – may no longer rely on God. They may forget how they acquired such relief, peace or “things”. This forgetfulness is dangerous. If we find ourselves blessed, enjoy it. However, always thank God for these blessings. He requires us to continue to grow and strengthen our relationship with Him. Sometimes, this is done through trials that test our resolve.

We often spend a lot of time praying for something or someone. And when the answer comes, when we see God move on our behalf and answer our prayers, we give a quick “Thank you, Jesus!” and move on. Do we spend as much time praising God and celebrating victories, praising Him for the blessings He has bestowed upon us, as we do when the trials and hardships are over? We can and should celebrate God’s mercy, love, and our answered prayers, reminding us of our role as child of the King and simultaneously giving hope to others waiting on their blessing.

  22. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.

Israel defeated themselves through pride -they prospered in their land after coming out of Egypt and thought they didn’t need Him. They discarded the God that saved them and ignored his prophets. Yet their help will be found in Him. We can’t allow blessings to cloud our eyes and hearts! We need him more today than ever before and he needs us to reach to the fallen saints and the lost and dying around us. Be Church! Live Give Jesus

  23. I love POFW LIVEJESUSGIVEJESUS2 God is the only true saviour. Nothing comes before him. He is number one no matter what.

  24. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

“Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lord is one. You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your might. And these words that I command to you today shall be on your heart. This is one of the Commandments of God.

  25. 2 And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.

The Lord shows Hosea here the result of having Gods beside the Lord God and He has stated that without Him, those that should not turn away from him has done so and the end result is ultimately death. We know that a season of sin will bring death.

We have the greatest opportunity to worship the Lord God with all our hearts. He makes it abundantly clear there is to be no other gods beside Him. We find that the modern day church seems to be ineffective because of the dwelling of sin within Christians and they have watered down theology and doctrine. We have to be the apostolic church that preaches the unadulterated word of God. Let’s be the church

  26. Hosea 13: 4-5 Yet I am the Lord your God from the time you became a nation in] the recognize no God but Me, for there is no Saviour besides Me.
[5] I knew recognized, understood and had regard for you in the wilderness, in land of great drought.
Isaiah 43:1 But now ( in spite of the past judgements for Israel’s sins) thus says the Lord Who created you, O Jacob, and He Who formed You, O Israel; Fear not, for I have redeemed you, ransomed you by paying a price instead of leaving you captives; I have called you by name, yet you are mine.
There is no other , But my savior Jesus Christ.

  27. “I have been the Lord your God ever since I brought you out of Egypt. You must acknowledge no God but me, for there is no other savior. I took care of you in the wilderness, in that dry and thirsty land. But when you had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me.
    Hosea 13:4‭-‬6 NLT

Blessings are great, victory is great, but we cannot forget where the Lord has brought us from. None of us would be here today if it wasn’t for the blood of Jesus! Thank You Lord for saving me!

  28. Hosea 13

4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no Saviour beside me.

5 I did know thee in the wilderness in the land of great drought.

7 Therefore I will be unto them, as a lion: as a leopard by the way I observe them:

In this chapter the Lord says He had helped Israel when they were worshipping Him and no other Gods. When they turned away from God, their blessings stopped. It is amazing how people do not worship Jesus, as everything is possible with Jesus!

  29. Hosea 13:4-5
[4]“I have been the lord your God ever since I brought you out of Egypt. You must acknowledge no God but me, for there is no other savior.
[5]I took care of you in the wilderness, in that dry and thirsty land.

  30. Hosea 13:4-6 & 9
    4) Yet I am the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.
    5) I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.
    6) According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.

    9) …; but in me is thine help.

I’m so Thankful that God brought me out of this world (Egypt). He is My GOD, and He is My SAVIOUR! He is always there to take care of and help me in my wilderness and drought experiences. He feeds me when I’m hungry – He’s My BREAD OF LIFE, and He fills me when I’m thirsty – He’s my LIVING WATER! I don’t ever want to take GOD’S Blessings, Goodness, Mercy, Grace, etc… for granted. I don’t ever want to forget what He’s done for me.

JESUS, I’ll never forget what you’ve done for me
JESUS, I’ll never forget how you set me free
JESUS, I’ll never forget how you brought me out
JESUS, I’ll never forget, No Never

He’s done SO MUCH for me, I cannot tell it all!!

  31. But when you had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me. So now I will attack you like a lion, like a leopard that lurks along the road. Like a bear whose cubs have been taken away, I will tear out your heart. I will devour you like a hungry lioness and mangle you like a wild animal. “You are about to be destroyed, O Israel— yes, by me, your only helper.
    Hosea 13:6‭-‬9 NLT

  32. 9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.

It is ironic that God is angry with Israel, yet, he is their only hope. I can’t imagine asking help from someone who is angry with me. Israel needed to reconcile with God first, and then, ask for his help. People who have suffered a loss, or a tradgedy, sometimes blame God, therefore do not want or seek his help. If people only knew that he is an everpresent help in time of trouble, a comforter in time of sorrow, a friend in time of loneliness. He is everything to me.

  33. The Living Bible
    vs-4
I alone am God your Lord and have been every since. I brought you out from Egypt. You have no God but me.
    I AM THE LORD
God revealed Himself in grace and the only result was that Gods people became proud and forgot Him.
For myself i have been guilty of this. WARING!!!!! dont go there the times we are living in the devil will have you living in a earthly HELL

Thank you Jesus for not forgetting me and having my Pastor and his Wife in my life.

  34. We have appropriated a culture where we decided to hide things for the betterment of people. We have given ourselves free will to explore the option of choice, we have decided to create and destroy things, practices, religions, and other things that our culture decided create. What we are brought into isn’t our fault entirely we just need to speak up, it is the choice of Free Will isn’t it?

  35. 2 And now they sin more and more, and have made them molten images of their silver, and idols according to their own understanding, all of it the work of the craftsmen: they say of them, Let the men that sacrifice kiss the calves.

Just as we the USA sun more and more God can’t bless this nation. We must turn back to God

  36. 9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.

He has given us chance after chance, his mercy will only last so long before he has to show you the hard way. God doesn’t want to force us to follow him and love him he wants us to do it on our own. That way he knows we do it because we want to, we shouldn’t take his mercy and love for granted.

  37. Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died.

  38. ““I have been the Lord your God ever since I brought you out of Egypt. You must acknowledge no God but me, for there is no other savior. I took care of you in the wilderness, in that dry and thirsty land.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭13:4-5‬ ‭NLT‬‬

God had protected them from the famine. He had caused water to come from the Rock to take care of their thirst. They should recognize His goodness, and be faithful to Him.

  39. “Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭13:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There is only one true living god and his name is Jesus. Nothing else is greater than him. No money no car no house no job. Nothing is equal or above him. He is the only one who reigns so we must always put our hope and trust in him. Not the things of the world but him. We sit here and trust the simple things of this world that don’t even have power to give life or breath to people but we can’t trust the one true living god who made heaven and earth and breath life into us. Submit unto the one true living god for he will never fail.

  40. 1 When Ephraim spake trembling, he exalted himself in Israel; but when he offended in Baal, he died I learned that when ephraim was humble they exalted him and when he was prideful he died

  41. 5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

During VBS one night the point we were trying to make with the children was “God knows you”. No matter where we are, Jesus knows us. Even before we were born, He knew us. When we are lost , without hope, without His life in us, He knew us and loved us.

  42. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

There is only one God and his name is Jesus. There is no savior like our God. No matter what comes our way, God gives us the strength to overcome it. Our focus should always be on God. In him we have all power.

  43. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

AMEN!!! This verse is so powerful and inspirational! Straight up it says no other God but Him and that’s straight facts! If you are putting anything before God let go of it. This may seem simple until it’s actually done. Don’t cap…Is God your first priority? If your answer is no then maybe you could catch up on that lol. I pray tonight that you are ALWAYS putting God first!!!

  44. “I took care of you in the wilderness, in that dry and thirsty land. But when you had eaten and were satisfied, you became proud and forgot me.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭13:5-6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

So many people now days take everything that God has done for them every blessing he’s gave them they take it all for granted. But there will be a time where they will soon realize it and it’ll be to late. I pray that we open our eyes to see what a beautiful life God has given you, even in your trials. Let us take time in our days even on your busy days, to praise God and give him all the thanks and honor for he is always blessing us and rising us up to victory in all our battles. God has given us his all, and I pray that we give our all unto him just the same.

  45. “The people of Samaria must bear the consequences of their guilt because they rebelled against their God. They will be killed by an invading army, their little ones dashed to death against the ground, their pregnant women ripped open by swords.””
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭13:16‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The gains of turning away from the father. We turn to the worldly things and gain despair and sorrow. Be with God to have the victory.

  46. 16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

Rebellion gained us nothing but death in the end. I’m grateful for the goodness of God that’s leads us to repentance. I’mGrateful fir His mercy and Grace.

  47. Hosea Chapter 13

As the prophet has spoken thus sayest the Lord and it did.

May we not be led by our flesh but by the Holy Spirit. If we are led by our flesh we will also reap the world winds. We cannot walk in both camps and please Jesus.

Choose this day who we should serve. We ether serve the one or the other and it is our choice. One leads to Jesus and his kingdom or we serve ourselves and the world 1John 2:16 For all that is in the world—the desires of the flesh and the desires of the eyes and pride of life—is not from the Father but is from the world.

The out come is not leading us into His Kingdom but the ways of the world leads to the second death.

Remember that we have been bought with a price and we are not our own. Choose wisely for the wages of sin is death.

We have been chosen to live in righteousness and we have been chosen by the sacrifice of Jesus and his blood on Calvary. Remember that the resurrection was the very fruit that sealed that sacrifice. When he ascended we were already redeemed by his blood and He became the first fruits of those that slept. I give you praise and glory Jesus in your Name. Amen

  48. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

This is one of the scriptures that theologians debate about the oneness or trinity. When I look at this scripture from my simple mind there is only one way to decipher this word. You have to let the word of God answer for the word of God. This is Old Testament before Jesus came to the earth robed in flesh so some would argue that God was not in salvation mode yet…. I have to stand on what Jesus said. Before Abraham I am. The word says Jesus was the lamb slain from the foundation of the earth. The alpha and the omega. The beginning and the ending. Which was, which is and is to come. So I can only decipher this scripture one way…. There is no savior beside Jesus and that means Jesus is God. There is a lot more all over the Bible that is foundational prof of the oneness of God but this is enough to get someone stirred up enough to dig it out for themselves. One Lord, One Faith, One Baptism. There is only one.

  49. Verses 4-6 ERV “I have been the Lord your God since the time you were in the land of Egypt. You did not know any other god except me. I am the one who saved you. I knew you in the desert—I knew you in that dry land. I gave food to the Israelites, and they ate it. They became full and satisfied. They became proud, and then they forgot me.” We cannot forget where our blessings come from.

  50. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

There truly is no god but the Lord Jesus our God. He is the only savior he is whom supplies all our needs and fills us with His Spirit. I wondered at this verse and the ones also in this chapter. It truly depicts how men give themselves to the work of their own hands. To idol worship. It’s total foolishness. They have gone mad; they are crazy we may day. Yet to them that lifeless and powerless thing is the image of a diety a power a savior. It makes no sense how people would put thir faith on mere fragments of this same earth, whether, metal, stone or wood. It’s nothing but they give it worship as if it’s alive. I got to thinking rather hard on that. At first it made no sense at all. It was absurd, crazy. Then I realized that it’s all powered by their mind. In their mind they have made up that a pice of wood sculpted in an image has power. I’m their mind they created a false hope, a false faith, not realizing that it is themselves that give life, imaginary, to their idols. They are blinded, they are deceived.

We must guard our thoughts and protect our mind. Pray for the mind of Christ daily

  51. ““I have been the Lord your God ever since I brought you out of Egypt. You must acknowledge no God but me, for there is no other savior.”
    ‭‭Hosea‬ ‭13:4‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The thing about Jesus is He never stops being the one true God. No matter our choices or actions, He is still God. Through death and the grave He is still God.

  52. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

No one else can save us, no one else can protect us like He can, so why do we feel the need to turn to other things for safety?? There is no other god like our God!

9 O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help.

Because if we are not careful, we could destroy ourselves, just as Israel did. We can only get that safety, deliverance, and healing through Him. Keep the Faith and stay turned towards Him.

16 Samaria shall become desolate; for she hath rebelled against her God: they shall fall by the sword: their infants shall be dashed in pieces, and their women with child shall be ripped up.

  53. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

If we were to take the Bible as a whole and see that the early church worship Jesus as God. This would mean that the Bible would contradict itself if the trinity was true. Because clearly there is no other God besides Jehovah. That would mean that Jesus claiming to be God would make him the God of the Old Testament that we read about in the prophets.

  54. Such a conflict of love verses rebellion! God shows love and mercy, man shows self will. Throughout Hosea we see example after example of how man lives after the flesh; cheating, lying, worshiping ing false gods, turning away from God and more.

  55. 4 Yet I am the Lord thy God from the land of Egypt, and thou shalt know no god but me: for there is no saviour beside me.

5 I did know thee in the wilderness, in the land of great drought.

6 According to their pasture, so were they filled; they were filled, and their heart was exalted; therefore have they forgotten me.

We must keep a humble spirit
