Isaiah 28

Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!

Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:

And the glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley, shall be a fading flower, and as the hasty fruit before the summer; which when he that looketh upon it seeth, while it is yet in his hand he eateth it up.

In that day shall the Lord of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,

And for a spirit of judgment to him that sitteth in judgment, and for strength to them that turn the battle to the gate.

But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink are out of the way; the priest and the prophet have erred through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

For all tables are full of vomit and filthiness, so that there is no place clean.

Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.

14 Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

15 Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us: for we have made lies our refuge, and under falsehood have we hid ourselves:

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

17 Judgment also will I lay to the line, and righteousness to the plummet: and the hail shall sweep away the refuge of lies, and the waters shall overflow the hiding place.

18 And your covenant with death shall be disannulled, and your agreement with hell shall not stand; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, then ye shall be trodden down by it.

19 From the time that it goeth forth it shall take you: for morning by morning shall it pass over, by day and by night: and it shall be a vexation only to understand the report.

20 For the bed is shorter than that a man can stretch himself on it: and the covering narrower than that he can wrap himself in it.

21 For the Lord shall rise up as in mount Perazim, he shall be wroth as in the valley of Gibeon, that he may do his work, his strange work; and bring to pass his act, his strange act.

22 Now therefore be ye not mockers, lest your bands be made strong: for I have heard from the Lord God of hosts a consumption, even determined upon the whole earth.

23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.

24 Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground?

25 When he hath made plain the face thereof, doth he not cast abroad the fitches, and scatter the cummin, and cast in the principal wheat and the appointed barley and the rie in their place?

26 For his God doth instruct him to discretion, and doth teach him.

27 For the fitches are not threshed with a threshing instrument, neither is a cart wheel turned about upon the cummin; but the fitches are beaten out with a staff, and the cummin with a rod.

28 Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen.

29 This also cometh forth from the Lordof hosts, which is wonderful in counsel, and excellent in working.

    Thank you Jesus!

Continue to speak in the simples, clearest words; but that will in order that all responsibility for their rejection can only be charged, not to the obscurity of the message, but to those who reject it.

  3. 26. The farmer knows just what to do, for God has given him understanding.

    27. A heavy sledge is never used to thresh black cumin; rather, it is beaten with a light stick. A threshing wheel is never rolled on cumin; instead, it is beaten lightly with a flail.

    28. Grain for bread is easily crushed, so he doesn’t keep on pounding it. He threshes it under the wheels of a cart, but he doesn’t pulverize it.

    29. The LORD of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher, and he gives the farmer great wisdom. NLT

Just as the farmer knows how to plant and harvest each crop differently, God knows how to develop and discipline each of us differently, according to our personalities, experiences, and maturity levels.

  4. Isaiah 28:16-17 [ Amp] Therefore this says the Lord God, Behold , I am laying in Zion for a foundation a Stone, a tested Stone, a precious Cornerstone of sure foundation; he who believes , trusts in, relies on and adheres to that Stone will not be ashamed or give way or make haste ( in sudden panic).
    17) I will make justice the line, and righteous the plummet; and hail will sweep away the refuge of lies, and waters will overwhelm the hiding place the shelter.
You and me will stumble because of disobedience and disbelieve [ God’s Word].
The Lord is my Strength and who I Trust and believe in.
    Who I will fear.
    Thank you Jesus.

  6. 10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

God has always sent his people Messengers when they begin to turn away. Before he has sent out his judgments he sends out prophets to redirect his children. God is a graceful father over his children trying to teach them little by little when they stray away instead of just pouring out wrath. What we learn from this is how God deals with his people, he is enduringly merciful to them

  7. “What sorrow awaits the proud city of Samaria— the glorious crown of the drunks of Israel. It sits at the head of a fertile valley, but its glorious beauty will fade like a flower. It is the pride of a people brought down by wine.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Don’t just be potential. We all have potential. Whether to do something or to be something. Like most people tell kids – The sky is the limit. However, when we sit on that potential and never put it into action or translate it to kinetic energy by moving upon whatever we seek to do or be then we start being wasteful. We have so much built up energy, so much built up beauty, ready to go ready to be used but never tapped into. Don’t let your glory fade by not getting past your potential.

  8. He talks to you like children because you act like children!

How far has I been with you? That you don’t understand that I am the Lord your GOD. That I am the only way, truth, and light. I’ve come to you time and time again Isreal so thy you can call on me in times of trouble. But you still don’t understand. What if I break it down for you. Will you understand then? Should slow down for you ?

““Who does the Lord think we are?” they ask. “Why does he speak to us like this? Are we little children, just recently weaned?”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:9‬ ‭NLT‬‬

    – no matter how God tells us. He is the great teacher. He knows the perfect way to train is sheep.

“The Lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher, and he gives the farmer great wisdom.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:29‬ ‭NLT‬‬

  9. 26 The farmer knows just what to do, for God has given him understanding. 27 A heavy sledge is never used to thresh black cumin; rather, it is beaten with a light stick. I am so grateful for you, Lord that you know just what we need and how to teach us and how to discipline us.

  10. I will test you with the measuring line of justice and the plumb line of righteousness. Since your refuge is made of lies, a hailstorm will knock it down. Since it is made of deception, a flood will sweep it away.
    Isaiah 28:17 NLT

Everyday we must check ourselves to insure we are in line with His Word. Hide The Word deep within your heart and let it guide you – let nothing take it or sway you from it.

  11. I love POFW LIVEJESUSGIVEJESUS2 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.
When we learn knowledge from God is when we are old enough to understand. Reading the word gains you knowledge from God and teaches you his ways and teaches you how to act. Praying builds your relationship with God. The lord provides and takes care of his own.

  12. 16 NLT “Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says: “Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a firm and tested stone. It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on. Whoever believes need never be shaken.”

    ‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭2:4, 6‬ ‭NLT
‭‭ 4“You are coming to Christ, who is the living cornerstone of God’s temple. He was rejected by people, but he was chosen by God for great honor.
6 As the Scriptures say, “I am placing a cornerstone in Jerusalem, chosen for great honor, and anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”

Thank you Jesus for being my cornerstone, my rock.

  13. God is calling for a self inspection!!! Look upon yourself and check yourself out!!! How can we lead if we are not behaving like we should. Our mistakes can become the stumbling block to a new Christian or even the lost. I have heard it before why should I become a Christian look at them, they steal, they lie, they drink, there is no change!!! So sad, they should look at us and say I WANT WHAT SHE/HE HAS!!! Lead with a pure and serving heart. Yes, we are humans, yes we make mistakes, remind them that WE ARE UNDER HIS GRACE!!! No! Is not an excuse for our behavior or a free pass to sin but when we make mistakes; we can come with repentance and HIS GRACE IS SUFFICIENT!!!

  14. 16“therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus is that sure foundation that we can stand on. If we don’t have that strong foundation that we will go crazy because without Jesus our lives are horrible. Let’s be with our strong foundation (JESUS) and not go crazy without our foundation (JESUS).

    JESUS LOVES YOU!

For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little: 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

God desires so much to give his people rest. He realizes how very tired and wore out his children are. He understands that we are only flesh and he tried so very hard to help us receive this “refreshing” rest of the Holy Ghost. When folks receive the Holy Ghost they speak in tongues. This is the rest to cause the weary to rest…but the religious world refuses to hear it…

  16. 13 But the word of the Lord was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken.
14 Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

The result of the faithful presentation of the word of the Lord for those who reject isn’t good for them it will result in their destruction. Sin always brings death, but God brings life everlasting.

  17. Isaiah 28
12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

    Yet they would not hear.
Jesus is calling yet some never answer for they cannot even hear . He wants to refresh us from the weariness of this world . He wants to pour out His spirit over us daily.
I had people say to me I don’t want the Holy Ghost . Sadly they are truly missing what God has for the depth of their soul. I’m am thankful for the refreshing of the Holy Ghost.
    Jeremiah 31:25
    English Standard Version
For I will satisfy the weary soul, and every languishing soul I will replenish.”

Matt 11:28-30 : “Come to me,(A) all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.(B) 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,(C) for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.(D) 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”(E)

  18. “But that’s exactly how you will be addressed. God will speak to this people In baby talk, one syllable at a time— and he’ll do it through foreign oppressors. He said before, “This is the time and place to rest, to give rest to the weary. This is the place to lay down your burden.” But they won’t listen.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:11-12‬ ‭MSG‬‬

God loves us so much that even when we are stubborn and don’t listen he tries to get in our level and speak to us. He is such a loving God that he wants all of us, even those of us who have trouble listening to be saved!

  19. 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.
12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

It’s for us today! God’s plan is for us to give and when we have given we must then receive back again in the Spirit. It is a refreshing in our spirits and renewing so we can continue to reach out and give Him again and again. This refreshing is for the daily struggles we face, to overcome the trials of life and for walking in His mind, the mind of Christ. Thank you for the Holy Ghost!

  20. Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, and precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Believe in Jesus and He will be your sure foundation.

I Peter 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be put to shame.

Psalm 118:22-24 The stone which the builders refused is become the head stone of the corner. This is the Lord’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day which the Lord hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

  21. 1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!

2 Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

3 The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:

We need to be careful on how we present ourselves to the rest of the world. If we present ourselves as the prideful, then we will surely fail and fall from the grace of God. The scripture states that pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall. We can not let the world influence our attitudes toward God and cause of to fall. We have to allow God to control our interaction because he will be a refuge and a very present help in the time of trouble. Let’s keep focused on the kingdom of God.

  22. LTB – 23-24 Listen to me, listen as I plead: Does a farmer always plow and never sow? Is he forever harrowing the soil and never planting it? 25 Does he not finally plant his many kinds of grain, each in its own section of his land? 26 He knows just what to do, for God has made him see and understand. 27 He doesn’t thresh all grains the same. A sledge is never used on dill, but it is beaten with a stick. A threshing wheel is never rolled on cummin, but it is beaten softly with a flail. 28 Bread grain is easily crushed, so he doesn’t keep on pounding it. 29 The Lord Almighty is a wonderful teacher and gives the farmer wisdom.

KJV – James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

If the Lord can give a farmer wisdom of how to plant, what to plant in what soil, and how to harvest each individual type plant at the perfect timing, He can guide our every step. Many don’t have the wisdom necessary to live life because they don’t ask of the Lord for wisdom, and then the knowledge how to apply that wisdom.

When He said in the Word that He will lead and guide us, that is truly what He meant. Our challenge is we don’t ask or seek His counsel.

When we learn to walk in the Spirit and seek Him first each day, His wisdom will come to us as needed each day to assist us in our day.

    JESUS

16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

GOD in HIS infinite wisdom permitted the prophet Isaiah a view into the future. Our eternal GOD knowing the hearts of man and the path of pride and rebellion chose to reveal at this point the future hope of man.

    JESUS Confirmed:
Luke 20:17 And he beheld them, and said, What is this then that is written, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?

    Peter Preached
Acts 4:11 This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner.

    Paul Reminded
    Ephesians 2:20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

    Peter Established
1Peter 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,

We are foolish to build our lives; hopes, dreams or future on anything or anyone other than JESUS. The apostle Paul said it well.

1Corinthians 3:10 According to the grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise masterbuilder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:17 And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.

Whatever we plan to do, we must do through and with JESUS.

  24. Isaiah 28:16, “Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tired stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.”

Romans 9:33 says, “As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.

    1 Peter 2:6-8 says,…
    6) Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
    7) Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner.
    8) And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: wherefore also they were appointed.

So Thankful I know who JESUS is. HE is my ROCK. HE is my Foundation, my sure Foundation. HE is the ONE I rely on, trust in, have confidence in, hope in, believe in, and because I do, I will not be ashamed nor confounded.
BUT for those who disobey HIM and stumble at HIS Word, HE is become a stone of stumbling – a stumblingstone.

  25. Hosea 14

3 Asshur shall not save us; we will not ride upon horses: neither will we say any more to the work of our hands, Ye are our gods: for in thee the fatherless findeth mercy.

4 I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely: for mine anger is turned away from him.

Only our one and only true God, Jesus Christ can save us. Do no worship idols and turn away from our Lord. He does not want anyone to go to hell, but if we do not follow Godly ways and be righteous, hell may be knocking on your door.

  26. Isaiah 28:26,29
[26]The farmer knows just what to do, for God has given him understanding.
[29]The lord of Heaven’s Armies is a wonderful teacher and he gives the farmer great wisdom.

    Proverbs 2:5-6
[5]Then you will understand what it means to fear the lord, and you will gain knowledge of God.
[6]For the lord grants wisdom! From his mouth come knowledge and understanding.

The wisdom we need does not rise up from within us; it comes down from the wise God above as we seek him out. God offers his wisdom from his book for his people.

  27. 2 Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand.

  28. 1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!

14 Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem.

Alcohol is a killer. Thousands of people die from it every year. Many lives and families have been devastated by it. Israel is bragging about it and full of pride. Judah sees it and instead of learning to avoid it, goes down the same road of drunkeness and shame. Some children of alcoholics avoid alcohol like the plague, while others, join right in and become alcoholics themselves. I am thankful that there is deliverance in Jesus. He delivered me from alcohol and sin 62 years ago. Praise his name!

  29. Isaiah 28

1 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!

7 But they also have erred through wine, and through strong drink, they are swallowed up of wine, they are out of the way through strong drink; they err in vision, they stumble in judgment.

To be prideful, rebellious, and unclean spirits will lead you to a path of destruction. God will turn His back on us, if we totally reject His ways. Love the Lord with all your heart and seek out goodness, not sin!

  30. I will use justice as a measuring line and goodness as the standard. The lies you hide behind will be destroyed as if by hail. They will be washed away as if in a flood. Your agreement with death will be erased; your contract with death will not help you. When terrible punishment comes, you will be crushed by it. Whenever punishment comes, it will take you away. It will come morning after morning; it will defeat you by day and by night. Those who understand this punishment will be terrified.” You will be like the person who tried to sleep on a bed that was too short and with a blanket that was too narrow to wrap around himself. (Isaiah 28:17-20 NCV)

There’s no hiding from God. You’ll get to a place where you’ll get uncomfortable and begin to seek God. That’s His ultimate goal to seek and to save that which is lost. Seek God while you have a chance.

  31. The Living Bible
    vs-15
You have struck a bargain with death you say and sold yourselves to the devil in exchange for his protection against the Assyrians . They can never touch us you say for we are under the care for who will deceive and fool them.
    Covenant with death
The phrase means that the people of Israel thought they had an agreement worked out by which they could avoid death. But God will soon annul that and strike His people with judgment.

  32. Grace and mercy is such a high commodity with people. God has all the grace and mercy and love. He is a true teacher and father.

  33. 28 Bread corn is bruised; because he will not ever be threshing it, nor break it with the wheel of his cart, nor bruise it with his horsemen.

Afflictions can be God’s threshing floor to prepare us for use. Serving the Lord is the highest calling.

  34. “God has told his people, “Here is a place of rest; let the weary rest here. This is a place of quiet rest.” But they would not listen.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

What makes people think that they have all control of their own life? Do not allow your pride to think that you are above Jesus Christ. You wearing a cross or having a tattoo of a cross does not and will not save you. Put your pride aside and come humbly before the throne of The LORD JESUS Christ and repent. Be born again of the water and the Spirit. Live in obedience to GOD. Again put aside your will and your pride.

““My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭55:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Pride goeth before destruction, And an haughty spirit before a fall.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭16:18‬ ‭KJV‬‬

  35. 9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

If we want to learn or to understand, we first must loose the crown of pride, humble ourselves and study. As we study, He will build line upon line…

  36. Does the plowman keep plowing all day to sow? Does he keep turning his soil and breaking the clods? When he has leveled its surface, Does he not sow the black cummin And scatter the cummin, Plant the wheat in rows, The barley in the appointed place, And the spelt in its place? For He instructs him in right judgment, His God teaches him.
    Isaiah 28:24‭-‬26 NKJV

His God teaches him… that is one of the greatest benefits we have from God. He is the one that has all knowledge and understanding. We can learn so much if we just go to him.

  37. 23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.

We must always be careful to always listen for His voice! I pray tonight that we are all taking out the time to always put Him first yall!

  38. “For the Lord, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies, has plainly said that he is determined to crush the whole land. So scoff no more, or your punishment will be even greater.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭28:22‬ ‭NLT‬‬

The time of the Lords coming is happening, and when it does he will destroy all and all that is sinful and all worldly things. It is important that we ask the Lord to cleanse us daily if our sins, to renew us for even if we didn’t realize we messed up we still do. I pray that we make God the center of our lives and follow his path and word, for there will come great blessings after your obedience. Let us help guide the lost help them realize that God is the truth and the only way to joy and peace.

  39. 23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.

When we hear the voice of the Lord and listen, we can do great things. There is power in the voice of God. In our obedience to his voice God is able to bless us. Don’t let the trials of life take you away from what God wants you to do. Stand strong on his word and let him direct your path.

  40. 12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

Our rest is found deeply in Jesus. It is found in His word. We must understand that the very things that cause us to worry And have unrest can be solved or calmed by his word. His word will calm any storm naturally and inwardly.

  41. Verse 29 NIV “All this also comes from the Lord Almighty, whose plan is wonderful, whose wisdom is magnificent.” You just can’t fail when you follow the Lord’s plan and not your own. For as it states in the MSG version “…..God-of-the-Angel-Armies, who knows everything about when and how and where.”

  42. Isaiah Chapter 28

9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are weaned from the milk, and drawn from the breasts.

10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little:

Let me proceed in verse 9. It is a interesting question? We seem to forget Verse 10. We all should all be changing into the image of Jesus. May be seen through us. This process takes time and obedience to Jesus’s will and direction.
If we refuse to change then we are like the majority of the Christian world. This also indicates that we are being given spiritual baby food. The bible says it a different way. That we are not weaned from the milk, and bot drawn from the breasts.

This is why the pastor is asking us to at least every day read a chapter of the bible. It seems as we mature in his word that we are being taught by the Spirit deeper meanings concerning scripture. Keep running the race and do not stop until Jesus calls us home.

  43. 11 For with stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people.

12 To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest; and this is the refreshing: yet they would not hear.

The promise of the Holy Ghost was a precept that was never understood by the prophets. It was inconceivable for God himself to abide in a man.

It wasn’t until Christ that God himself in his fullness came to abide amongst us. He came in the for of a man to sacrifice himself once and for all for the sins of the world.

This is when these words started to make sense to the apóstoles when they preached:

“Repent and be baptized everyone of you the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

  44. 23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
24 Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break the clods of his ground?

Listen to what God has to say, “Doth the plowman plow all day to sow? doth he open and break. . .” Who does work all day?? Someone who bears fruit and works continuously to see a great harvest!! We should all be working for the kingdom continuously. At work, at home, out and about at stores and public, the name Jesus should be oozing from every conversation and made into a great representation and witness for Him.

  45. 23 Give ye ear, and hear my voice; hearken, and hear my speech.
