Isaiah 31

Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.

Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

For thus hath the Lord spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the Lord of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.

Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.

Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.

And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the Lord, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.

Never try to go against God because you will lose it’s better to fully give yourself to him and whatever battle shall come in your way you have victory with Jesus your side.

    Isaiah 54:17 KJV
No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgement thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

  2. 5 As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.

The Lord will provide for His believers. When the believer leans toward the world for support he is in rebellion against the Lord, and will suffer the consequences of the Lord’s correction.

  3. 5 As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.
6 Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

The only way our country is going to have the turnaround it needs and for the church to have the authority it used to is for our leaders to understand that God is our only hope. The church has the power to intervene for this country

  4. 1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

Many people can find assurance in their own success. They feel that they can do anything to overcome obstacles, adversity, and even other people. I find that no matter how successful you are, there will always be a down fall no matter how far your climb up the ladder.

The scripture states to not put trust and confidence in man. Always put your trust and faith in God. He can do anything but lie and He will not fail you. They that trust in the Lord and lean not to your own understanding, but acknowledge Him and he will direct your paths. No matter the obstacles or adversities, you will overcome them with ease. Just remember if God is for you then who in this world can be against you.

  5. Isaiah 31:1, “WOE to them that go down to Egypt for help: and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!”

Isaiah 31:3, “Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.”

Isaiah 31:5, “As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.”

We are not to put our Trust in this world (Egypt) or in the things of this world, because if we do, they will only fail us.
BUT we are to put our Trust in the GOD, the Holy One of Israel. We need to Look to Him and Seek Him at all times for all things in our life. For when we do, He will Defend us, Deliver us, and Preserve (Protect – take care of) us.

Thank You JESUS!! YOU are the ONE that I TRUST in!!

  6. 1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

As I read this it reminded me people that go crazy over celebrities, politicians, or sport figures. They put posters up, defend them like they knew them, and are passionate for someone that don’t even realize they exist. This celebrities don’t care about anything except that you purchase their products, their tickets, or your vote. You are just a number!!! If we were to put that much Passion and Love in Jesus Christ and His Kingdom we would be so much better of!!! If everyone just focus on obeying and worshipping the ALL MIGHTY this world would be like it is right now. If only we were to follow just 2 rules Mark 12: 30 And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment.
31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.

When you love others like you love yourself, you don’t lie, you don’t kill, you don’t steal, etc. God in His great wisdom condense all 10 commandments into 2 simple ones. Let’s put ALL OUR TRUST IN HIM ALONE!!! Then you will change the world!!!

  7. I always try to remember that in order to love others you must first love yourself. Loving and obeying God is necessary for success and healthy living. The 10 commandments are must also. I love POFW LIVEJESUSGIVEJESUS2

  8. God is against those who go to Egypt for help, Those who trust in horses, chariots, and horsemen for victory. We will arise against the house of evildoers ( US ) and against the helpers
( WORLD) of those who work iniquity ( US ). The helper ( WORLD ) will stumble, and he who is helped ( US ) will fall.

  9. 4 For thus hath the Lord spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the Lord of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

This just reminds me that in so many scriptures when someone rises up against us God will defend us and God will condemn those that have come against us. Our Hope trusts safely in Him.

No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is of me, saith the Lord.

  10. 1 NLT“What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.

You will find sorrow ,failure and disappointment when you put your trust anything bye to he Lord. ‭‭They relied on man rather than having faith in the Lord.
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭20:7‬ ‭AMP “Some trust in chariots and some in horses, But we will remember and trust in the name of the Lord our God.”

5 NLT The Lord of Heaven’s Armies will hover over Jerusalem and protect it like a bird protecting its nest. He will defend and save the city; he will pass over it and rescue it.””
Psalms 91:4 NKJV “He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.”

  11. Isaiah 31:1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

Psalm 20:7 Some trust in chariots, and some in horses : but we will remember the name of the Lord our God.

Always seek God and put your confidence in Him. Trust the Almighty God who can anything!

  12. 6 turn ye unto him whom the children of Israel
    Had deeply revolted.

    👉🏼 Come back
    Come back.
    Fort the promises of God
    Are yay and amen.
He is not a man that can lie
Nor a son of man that would repent.
What he said he shall do…
    Come back!

  13. 3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

God is our refuge and help in time of trouble. We must depend on him at all times, esp in the trials. He is our shelter and strong tower! I put my needs in his hands and trust in him to make a way.

  14. Isaiah 31
31 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

Bottom line ; I Trust You Jesus …
Where would I be without Him?

    Psalms 20:7
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God.

  15. Isaiah 31:4 For the Lord has said to me, As the lion or the young lion growls over his prey, and when a large band of shepherds is called out against him will not be terrified at their voice or daunted at their noise, so the Lord of hosts will come down to fight upon Mount Zion and upon hills.
A Shepard watches over his sheep the same way.
1 Peter : 8 ( Amp) Be well- balanced , temperate, sober- minded; be vigilant and cautions at all times, for that enemy of yours, the devil, roams around like a lion roaring , in fierce hunger) seeking someone to seize upon devour.
Be aware there are people dressed in sheep clothing stay alert, don’t be deceived!
In the name of Jesus pled your blood all over this nation.

  16. AMP – Woe (judgment is coming) to those who go down to Egypt for help,
    Who rely on horses
And trust in chariots because they are many,
And in horsemen because they are very strong,
But they do not look to the Holy One of Israel, nor seek and consult the Lord!

Egypt has always been typlification of the “world”. When we as children of God look to the world for our help, our strength, our wisdom or our direction, we will find ourselves on the wrong path. Yes we are in this world, but we are not of the world. We are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, called to be separate, called to different, called to be set apart, and called to be holy. We walk not after the things of the world, but after the Spirit, therefore we shouldn’t look to the world and it’s systems to lead us.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and all these things…..provision, wisdom, knowledge, growth, everything to sustain us will be provided…..but we must seek Him, not the world.

  17. 1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

The Lord is really upset that Israel would put their hope in Egypt instead of Him. While most of us today agree this is not a good idea, I think that most of us actually do what Israel did and we don’t even realize it. Some examples are trusting the government for handouts and protection are just a few ways that we might trust Egypt too much.

  18. For these Egyptians are mere humans, not God! Their horses are puny flesh, not mighty spirits! When the Lord raises his fist against them, those who help will stumble, and those being helped will fall. They will all fall down and die together. But this is what the Lord has told me: “When a strong young lion stands growling over a sheep it has killed, it is not frightened by the shouts and noise of a whole crowd of shepherds. In the same way, the Lord of Heaven’s Armies will come down and fight on Mount Zion.

  19. LIVE – GIVE JESUS2
    THE WARNING

1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

The LORD warns Israel through his prophet. Trusting in natural resources in time of battle is dangerous. This is also a great temptation for todays church. We can become complacent in our spirit based on accomplishment, accolades and associations, while not knowing the GOD of Glory, our Lord JESUS.

As well, many Christians turn to the world and its systems for help instead of turning to the LORD for their help. THE WARNING is this. The help from Egypt or the world will come to nothing, but help from the LORD will be eternal.

Regardless of our abundance in any area of life, we must remain reliant in and confident in our Lord JESUS to supply our need and protect our lives.

  20. Verse 2 AMP “Yet He is also wise and will bring disaster, And does not retract His words, But will arise against the house of evildoers And against the helpers of those who do evil.” We have to look to Lord and not to man or things of this world. We also need to be careful what we side with or do. Sometimes people can side or get the same opinion about someone they don’t even really personally know because they fall or listen to the evil being spoken by others. In the VOICE version verse 2 says “God is both wise and willing to wreak disaster; He does not second guess Himself or backtrack on what He says. God will amass all divine power against those who do evil and against whoever aids and abets them.”

  21. The Living Bible vs-3
For the Egyptians are mere men not God! Their horses are puny flesh not mighty spirits. When the Lord clenches his fist against them they will stumble and fall among those they are trying to help. All will fail together.
    Men and not God
We must choose wisely between living and relying on our flesh the only right answer is living and walking in the Spirit.
    WARING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WE MUST CHOOSE SPIRIT

  22. Isaiah 31:1
What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the lord, the Holy One of Israel.

    Trust in the Lord

    Proverbs 3:5
    Trust in the lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding

    Psalms 118:8
It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in people.

  23. 8 Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.

Most of the cities of Judah had been defeated by the Assyrians and only Jerusalem remained to be defeated. Judah is frantic and fearful. ” Let’s ask for help from Egypt”, they say. But God rebukes them for looking to a sinful nation for help. He shows them what he can do. Over night the angel of the Lord slays 185,000 Assyrian soldiers. The king flees back to Assyria and is killed by his two sons.

When God is on our side, we have nothing to fear. Romans 8:31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

  24. 1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!
2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.

We must stand on the word of God for we do not Fight against flesh and blood but your battle is Against evil and principalities in the air.

  25. Isaiah 31

3 Now the Egyptians are men, not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall and he that is holding shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

If we listened to man (CNN news,), and not God, what a mess all of us would be in. When you have a relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ, you will be directed truthfully. So many people listen to man and fake news, this is why our world is in such a disaster state. I am thankful for the POFW church and the word of our saviour Jesus Christ.
Thank you Jesus for this day.

  26. 5 As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.

The Lord will defend his people. Many things will rise up against us, but God will deliver. We must trust in God with every choice we make. Our hope should always be in the Lord who made heaven and earth. We are stronger with our almighty God.

  27. “I know the glorious day will come when each of you will throw away the gold idols and silver images your sinful hands have made.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭31:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

With God there is forgiveness and renewing of the spirit. Many of us know what God has forgiven them for and saved them from. As we each have a testimony of what the Lord has saved us from wether it’s fear, drugs, depression and many more we need to use those stories to go out and reach the lost, show them how God saved you and how he can save them. There will come a day where all eyes will be opened and hearts will be turned to God. Turn your life to God, for he will make you new.

  28. “What sorrow awaits those who look to Egypt for help, trusting their horses, chariots, and charioteers and depending on the strength of human armies instead of looking to the Lord, the Holy One of Israel.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭31:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our help doesn’t come from within or from the world – it comes from the Lord. He is The Provider, The Waymaker. No door He opens can man shut. He is the Great I Am, He is the Holy One and His name is Jesus!

Our help does not come from anywhere but the Lord. No matter what we go through in our time of need he is the one who can move mountains. We can’t rely on man. He is the one true savior. We should always put our trust on him and not the things of the world because the things of this world will pass away but he will always remain. He is the same yesterday today and forever more so put your trust in the lord always .

  30. In his wisdom, the Lord will send great disaster; he will not change his mind. He will rise against the wicked and against their helpers. For these Egyptians are mere humans, not God! Their horses are puny flesh, not mighty spirits! When the Lord raises his fist against them, those who help will stumble, and those being helped will fall. They will all fall down and die together.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭31:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

People who are born of the Water and Spirit overcome fleshly problems, because their hearts are changed. They no longer need drugs and alcohol to help them face the day; they have the love of Jesus instead.

  31. “Though you are such wicked rebels, my people, come and return to the Lord.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭31:6‬ ‭NLT‬‬

He wants you. God loves and cares for us. Share the love with your neighbor, share the lamb.

  32. 4 For thus hath the Lord spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the Lord of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.

  33. 7 For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.

Idols. When I think of the word “idols” I think of it as like something against God. Anything that you are putting in front of God is an idol. God is always first no matter what! I pray tonight that you put God first always and are making sure there are no idols in your life!!!

  34. 1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!
2 Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
3 Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the Lord shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.

When we walk in the flesh, and not in the Spirit, we find ourselves trusting in the strength of this world, the strength of our own hands. When we walk in the Spirit, we trust Jesus, because we know He loves us, and He says that ALL thing work for our good.

  35. Isaiah Chapter 31

Who is the Lord? It is Jesus The Lord of hosts Jesus in charge of the angle army’s.

Psalm 24:10 Who is this King of glory? The LORD of hosts, he is the King of glory! Selah

Psalm 46:11 The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress. Selah

Psalm 48:8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts,
in the city of our God, (Jerusalem) which God will establish forever. Selah The name of the city added.

Psalm 84:1 To the choirmaster: according to The Gittith. A Psalm of the Sons of Korah. How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of hosts!

Psalm 84:3 Even the sparrow finds a home, and the swallow a nest for herself,
where she may lay her young, at your altars, O LORD of hosts, my King and my God.

Psalm 84:12 O LORD of hosts, blessed is the one who trusts in you! In the Old Testament the name of the Lord of Hosts is Jehovah. In the New Testament Jesus.

  36. 1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

Putting out trust in anything or one more than or except God is foolish. He created all things and all things exist because of Him. Let us put all our trust in Him. Even when we can’t see how it’s going to work out we are better with him.

  37. 1 Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!

The psalmist put it thus way:

Some trust in chariots, and some in horses; But we will remember the name of the Lord our God. They have bowed down and fallen; But we have risen and stand upright. Save, Lord! May the King answer us when we call.
    Psalms 20:7‭-‬9 NKJV

We will remember the name of the Lord our God. There is power in the name of Jesus. Everything and everyone else will fail you. The Lord will not.

  38. 5 As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.
6 Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.

I like this analogy presented, “As birds flying, so will the Lord of hosts defend Jerusalem; . . .” Birds will always be flying, birds fly all over the place, multiple times a day, so the Lord will also always defend Jerusalem and His people. He will defend them all the time, multiple times a day. “. . . defending also he will deliver it; . . .” He will also always deliver Jerusalem and His people. He will deliver them all the time, multiple times a day. “. . . and passing over he will preserve it.” He will also always preserve Jerusalem and His people. He will preserve them all the time, multiple times a day. Just like birds fly.

  39. The Fight Is Rigged

9 And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the Lord, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.

When the enemy sees the name of Jesus hung over your life, he knows the fight is rigged and there’s no chance of winning. The name of Jesus is our Battle Standard and our cry. If we invoke that name, we cannot lose.

  40. “This is what the Lord says to me: “As a lion growls, a great lion over its prey— and though a whole band of shepherds is called together against it, it is not frightened by their shouts or disturbed by their clamor— so the Lord Almighty will come down to do battle on Mount Zion and on its heights.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭31:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Sometimes as we pray and praise through things the noise doesn’t stop. That doesn’t mean that our fear should guide us. That means it gives a greater opportunity for God to protect us and win the battle! We just have to always remember that no matter what we are going through, we win with God!

  41. “I know the glorious day will come when each of you will throw away the gold idols and silver images your sinful hands have made.”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭31:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Eventually we grow up. The Lord gives us a choice and it’s been a choice since the beginning of creation. He said you can choose your will or you could choose mine. The day we were filled with the Holy Ghost is the day we sat not my will but your will be done. It’s up to us to stop worshipping the false idols and worshipping all that other junk.

Lord I ask you to forgive me and wash my heart today. Place a holy coal from your altar on my lips so iniquity should purge in Jesus name

  42. Though you are such wicked rebels, my people, come and return to the Lord. I know the glorious day will come when each of you will throw away the gold idols and silver images your sinful hands have made.
    Isaiah 31:6‭-‬7 NLT

God sees it all from beginning to end. He knows how we used to be and He sees the future of what we can become. Have faith in God, He wants to see you through!

  43. We can’t rely on physical statutes to aid our way through life and it’s painful territory, we must put the trust in aid Into God.

  44. “Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the Lord!”
    ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭31:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

There’s no god like our God! No one can compare to Him. He is Holy! He is my God and my King and early will I seek Him!

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.”
    ‭‭Proverbs‬ ‭3:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬
